    My disposal quit working. It would trip the reset when it was turned on and the disposal motor was locked up. Using the toll provided by the manufacturer to help turn the impeller was very hard to make it move just a fraction. I notified CHW and a repair facility contacted me in a few hours with a repair time. The repairman arrived earlier than the estimated time but called to verify it was ok. The remove and replace operation only took less than 30 minutes.

    It was just one of those times, where one thing after another needed repair in the house. Thank goodness a friend encouraged me take Choice Home Warranty a couple of months or so back.     I had multiple incidents with them that they found ridiculous excuses on why things should not be covered. It was really unbelievable. They found a little bit of rust on a washer and decided that the issue is because of rust and they are not responsible (it wasn't the reason at all), then the well pump - they decided that the well pump is not working because of pressure and they are not responsible on pressure issues. Find a company that is not trying to find an excuse not to help you. You don't need an insurance if you end up paying for everything yourself.

    One of the worst experiences I have ever had! I paid up front for the total cost of the warranty, called to have my garage door repaired. They first said garage door openers are not covered, then said I did not have a policy, then said I had to wait 60 days for coverage to begin. Not to mention the people I spoke to, including a manager, did not speak good english and were tough to understand. When I asked for a refund of my warranty cost they said I could not since I filed my first claim... which they said they could not cover for 60 days... liars!

    I submitted a claim to Choice Home Warranty on 10/20/2015. I was contacted the next day telling me they had assigned the claim to a local repair service. The appointment was made for the 22nd. I received a call the morning of the 22nd from the repair service saying the technicians truck had broken down and they would have to reschedule for the next day. I had some other appointments on that day, so we settled on the 28th. The tech came and repairs were finished the next day.     This has to be the biggest scam company ever. They tell you everything is covered and then they say it's not covered... Way too many exclusions. I guess I should have read the fine fine fine fine print... They are horrible in taking information, getting you a service person and then they tell you that part is excluded.     I was with another warranty service provider for several years, until they sent out an incompetent repair tech to repair my washer when the motor seemed to have stopped working and who created a potentially very hazardous situation by disabling the auto-stop default switch for the spin cycle in order to "correct" the problem. I immediately cancelled my contract with them, and a couple of months later signed up with Choice. Frankly I was a little apprehensive about my first service call expecting the worst.     Our furnace broke down and we contact Choice to repair. Choice sent someone to fix the furnace. They determined the furnace needed a new heat exchanger or the furnace be replaced. Choice contacted us after the serviceman reported and informed us since we did not have a record that our furnace was cleaned they would not cover our repair/replacement. First off they never asked us for the records, they just gave us their standard answer. I informed them we had the unit cleaned/serviced every year. I forwarded the invoices to them. They said claim denied since the invoice did not specifically state what specifically was cleaned...

    Again I sent over specific details from the company that cleaned our system showing in detail what was done. They informed us again the claim denied since our detail did not include that the flue was cleaned. This company has very bad business practices and in fact was sued by the NJ division of Consumer Affairs and Choice lost based on these deceptive business practices. Be Warned!! Stay away from this company, they do not live up to their promises.

    I called on Tuesday to troubleshoot my dryer having a F-70 code. Their repair company would not answer their phone for confirmation. He finally answered and showed up on a Thursday. He stated that he would return with part Saturday or Monday. No call, no show. I called Monday and Choice also called and nobody would answer. I finally demanded another repairman come and somebody came the following Saturday. This repairman fixed the code for 2 wash loads. I called Choice back and now they say "this problem couldn't have happened in the short time of your policy" and declined my repair. After 2 weeks of waiting with no dryer they deny me. Their supervisors and managers are kids with no degree or speech skills. They do not know how to talk to people with professionalism. Bad service, bad representatives, hidden agenda while obtaining your money for contract.

    I purchased a home warranty from Choice Home Warranty in June of 2015. In October of 2015 my hot water heater started leaking. Choice Home Warranty refused to pay any more than $100 for a $600 repair and I had to pay the responding plumber $60 to do nothing but show up. The plumber even told us that Choice Home Warranty was a scam and definitely not worth having. I canceled my service with them and instead of trying to help me they very sarcastically said that they were taking another $50 from me for cancellation fee even though they didn't provide any service to us at all. The company performs illegal activities and I'm going to get an attorney and file a lawsuit against them. STAY AWAY FROM CHOICE HOME WARRANTY!!!! They will steal your money and refuse to provide service. Don't make the same mistake as we did.

    I never write reviews but this is one that needs to be heard. And this is all true. It is factual. This is the worst company. I do not know how they are in business or why 5 stars exist for them. Do not give them your credit card. After reading a few 5 star reviews I decided this sounds great, failing to read further. I was sold a bill of lies over the phone. It was too good to be true. Every question I asked when signing up was responded to with a very positive response -- "We take care of everything, Ma'am!" This is a lie. When it comes to needing service the deception begins to appear.

    For my first (July 1 / leaking dishwasher repair) and only repair request I was offered $180 the first go around (2 weeks), and after a second opinion repairman I was then offered $280 over the phone by customer service (another 2 weeks). I was told I could use the money toward a repair or a new unit. I refused to accept the money. After 4 weeks of nonsense, I then requested to cancel the policy. I was transferred to a manager who begged me not to cancel and made several unfulfilling promises. He did offer me a replacement dishwasher which was worth 1/3 of the value of the existing GE model (mid-August), $300 vs. $800.

    When signing up, I was told over the phone the replacement would be of the exact existing model. This was not the case. This was only one of the lies I was sold. I would have loved a completed repair or replacement of the same unit which would have fulfilled the verbal insurance obligations I was sold. I ended up replacing it myself. I am fighting to get my money back from this company. If you want to waste a ton of time and money, then you have the right company! This company should be shut down.

    I have a faucet that the valve seems to be worn out on. The repairman came out and said a cartridge was bad. He went and purchased it and put it on. He was very professional and polite. We didn't use the tub for a few days afterwards. We have discovered that you have to turn the faucet all the way to hot to get it to come on at all.     I got the insurance product from Choice Home Warranty about 4 months ago. They advertised their excellent service. I made a request to fix the oven. The technician came initially to fix the oven and said it need some parts to be replaced. He said he will be back in few days. I paid the deductible. 10 days passed and I did not get service. I called the technician. He said he is busy and will fix it in the weekend. Few weeks passed. I made phone calls to the company and the technician every other day. 2 1/2 months passed.

    My tenant got upset and bought a new oven and deducted the amount from my rent. I called Choice Home Warranty and asked them whether I will get the money back from the company. The customer service asked me to send the bill and said they will review the bill. I sent them the bill. After 10 days they asked me to call the customer service. I called them and they said they denied the claim and said I need prior approval. I said "I want to cancel the policy." The representative said I can't since I have a contract for 1 year. I never signed the contract with them. Liars!!! I lost the monthly premium amount and the new overprice. My total loss is $1000. This was a costly experience.

    I purchased a warranty 2 months ago. My AC suddenly stopped blowing cool air and I made a claim for repair. It was denied. Reason given by Alan **, employee ID ** was that the AC did not come in 100% working order. Although I provide maintenance records for the AC. The denial was verbal, therefore, I requested for a written denial statement. He stated that it would take sometime because a request has to be sent to a different department to submit it. I asked him for his superior and he informed me that there isn't anyone over him and his decision is final. He was very rude and unprofessional.

    Nearly every customer service representatives were very rude throughout the whole process. I have made several requests for the policy and never received it. They claim that It was sent on October 8, 2015, which is about 2 months since the activation of the policy, but I never received a physical copy or emailed copy. I checked my spam box and did not find it. I believe that they are running a scam to rob customer of their hard earn money. I would like to have full refund of the amount that I paid for the policy and cancel the policy.

    I paid for my warranty August 30, 2015 and coverage was to go into effect September 30, 2015. On October 5th, my bath exhaust fan went out. This was a new fan that had been installed approximately 8 month prior, so basically a new fan. They sent a certified electrician out. He said the fan needed to be replaced, but he would have to get approval. Someone called me and said they were denying the claim because it was preexisting. He said there was no way the fan could have gone out in 5 days. He also stated that the fan had to be going bad before the contract went into effect.

    This was the most horrible, unprofessional warranty service I have ever used. DO NOT USE CHOICE WARRANTY. They assigned a repair tech to my claim that was with a company named 'Power on Electric' to repair what was stuck in my garbage disposal. He canceled the first appointment. Was late arriving to the second appointment, got lost and his phone died. Then at 7:00 PM on Wed. night 10/14/2015, he disassembled my garbage disposal and the line to my dishwasher. Told me I needed a new gasket and he would get it the next morning, then call me to arrange an appointment time to finish the job. He never called back!

    Thursday, waited until 1:00 pm before starting to call the repair tech. When he didn't answer, I started calling CHOICE WARRANTY to get a status update on the claim. They called the repair tech and he never returned their calls and they never called me back. On Friday morning, 10/16/2015, determined that this repair would be fixed before the weekend, I started calling CHOICE at 8:30 AM and asked for a replacement repair tech to fix this issue. I have my 90-year old mother living with me and my twin grandsons were visiting. CHOICE refused to send another repair tech out to my home to fix the problem this lousy repair tech had made.

    I asked for a full refund of my contract fee since I did not want this man in my home again, and they refused that request also. They refused every request I made, so I called them every hour until I could get a resolution. The only resolution they offered was that the repair tech said he could not come to put my sink back together until 7-8 PM that Friday night. If he did not make it Friday night, he would be there first thing Saturday morning. I could not wash my dishes because he had disconnected my drain pipes. WTF?

    CHOICE went on to tell me that they are not responsible for any damage a repair tech does to your home while they are on a service call. WTF? They also told me I could have hired another company to come in and make the repairs, but I am paying them an annual contract service fee for a home warranty. CHOICE was rude, inconsiderate of what this repairman had done to my property, and did not feel any urgency to make him fix it. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY INVESTING IN SHADY HOME WARRANTY COMPANIES LIKE CHOICE. They are not concerned with how their customers are treated and don't give a rip who takes advantage of us!

    Of course the repair tech never came on Friday. My sink and dishwasher had been disabled for two days. He finally called on Saturday morning, 9 AM to tell me he was on his way. He arrived at 11 AM, put my garbage disposal back together, complaining that the screws required special equipment to remove them from the garbage disposal. Of course he had no tool bag, he carried his tools in his hands. He asked CHOICE to replace my garbage disposal because he could not find a seal to replace the one he damaged when he took it apart. CHOICE denied my claim and said it was owner error because something was stuck in the garbage disposal and I did not tell them.

    Here is the information that was put in my on-line request for service: "Please be advised that your claim # ** for the Garbage Disposal: Not Grinding; Last Time Working: 1 week ago; Last Time Repaired or Serviced: 2 -3 years ago; Make/Model/Serial: --- ; More Notes: There is something stuck in the disposal. Has been assigned to Power On Electrical LLC, an authorized CHW service technician. Please contact the technician at 864 905 7026 to schedule a service appointment."

    The repairman added sealant on my seal to try to fix it, put all the parts back together, and now I have two leaks from the garbage disposal. I DID NOT HAVE ANYTHING LEAKING! I HAD AN OBJECT STUCK IN THE DISPOSAL! Now I have two dishes under my sink to catch the leaking water running from my garbage disposal if I use the sink or the dishwasher! WTF CHOICE? They do not send QUALIFIED, REPUTABLE SERVICE TECHS THAT SPECIALIZES IN SPECIFIC HOME REPAIRS TO YOUR HOME.

    DO NOT USE CHOICE HOME WARRANTY! They refused my claim and that is fine, but I did expect everything to function as it was before the technician came to my house and ripped things apart! Now I need a new garbage disposal and I have water leaking everywhere. He called CHOICE while he was re-assembling everything and they told him I did not want it repaired, then hung the phone up on both of us! REALLY?

    After reading page after page of these wonderful reviews I am surprised that I had such a miserable experience. Choice sent an AC repairman to fix my AC and before they received the technician's report they denied the claim due to poor maintenance and abuse. The unit is less than 5 years old, the pictures sent to Choice showed that the unit was clean and maintained and the filter was serviced continuously BUT again without any information they REFUSED the claim. Now, they said that we can get a second opinion at our expense but who knows what will be next. Again, they denied the claim before receiving the technician's report.

    CHW was helpful in this repair. A few problems were with the company used. I was told they would call me within an hour. I was surprised as this was a Saturday afternoon. But of course the company did not call. Don't say this to the customer, unless you are certain they are going to call! However they did call first thing Monday morning. Very friendly and helpful person. I was given an appointment (10-12 time frame). At 12:15 I called as I had not heard from them. She told me the technician was "close by," but no other reason was offered. At 3 pm, I called her back as the technician had still not arrived. I stated I could no longer wait. I had given them 5 hours of my day and needed to leave. She seemed shocked I couldn't wait any longer. This was extremely inconvenient.

    I requested the first appointment the next morning. She said he should be here by 8:30. She called me that morning at 8:23 stating he was on his way. An hour later he still had not arrived. I called to find out where he was driving from... About 20 miles away. She stated he had problems with traffic. Upon checking google maps, there were no issues showing that morning. I feel they have problems with their techs. He did arrive about 9:30. He was very nice, checked out the problem. Determined it needed to be replaced. Of course he didn't have the part and had to go purchase it... Another 30 minutes. He replaced the garbage disposal and it now works nicely.

    I have been a loyal American Home Shield customer for years but their customer service has reduced drastically.     I had my worse experience with the company. Initially the Sales Guy was very rude and unprofessional... I did a mistake of going with this company at first front. When my fridge broken down they said the parts broken are not covered so I have to throw away my refrigerator and buy a new one.
