    Service has been satisfactory. For the most part I have only had one issue getting something repaired. And Choice did try to accommodate me with this issue. I hope to continue to get good service with prompt appointment times in the future. I hope in the future they start covering water softener. Mine was damaged in a recent hurricane and my homeowners insurance would not even cover it. It cost twelve hundred to have it fixed.

    Tech stated problem with AC was normal wear and tear. CHoice refuses to pay for repair. I will be cancelling my choice policy. Why hire a tech who puts their hands on a system when your "experts" look at a picture and say nope this is what caused it to fail. See attached picture. Can your experts tell me why this flashlight isn't working from the picture provided. Yet you can look at a picture of something and tell what caused it to fail regardless of what the tech who put their hands on it says.

    I am frustrated and dissatisfied with the wait time for my broken water heater. I am being told I need to wait five days for someone to come out and look at it. Frankly, that’s unacceptable. Over the past few years with Choice Warranty, I’ve noticed that it’s taking longer and longer to get repairs scheduled. I’ve never complained before because the issues were minor and I could afford to wait. But going without hot water for this long is not a minor problem, and I don’t believe I should have to wait nearly a week for a response.     I had a problem with the water line to the refrigerator. Technician checked the line and was about to write up for a replacement valve when he noticed that I had a water softener system. He checked the line to the water softener and found that the faucet from that system that feeds to the refrigerator was turned off.     Don't know if CHW instructed, the technicians would not fully charge up the compressor when the AC is lack of Freon. Customer is told to find own company to do it, of course with extra cost to the customer. Also, technician does not check if there is any Freon leakage to avoid future leak.

    I strongly advise against using this company. Reputable contractors and companies won’t work with them, so be cautious about any technicians they send your way regarding their credentials and business practices. We are currently facing an AC issue; our unit isn’t cooling the home properly. After submitting a claim, they sent a technician from a supposedly five-star rated local company to assist us. Unfortunately, all the technician did was top off the unit with coolant and collect a $75 fee. It didn’t resolve the issue, and we weren’t given any information about what the problem actually was—he just left!

    After my husband left a negative review on Google for the local AC company, the manager reached out to him. He explained that their hands are tied when it comes to Choice Home, and claims are often denied, taking months to resolve with minimal approval from them. The manager also mentioned that they will no longer work with this company.

    Further research revealed that not a single AC company in my area, which is located near the beach in the south, will work with home warranties. I also discovered that Georgia banned Choice Home Warranty last year from operating in the state, and Arizona is currently in a lawsuit with them. We have accepted the fact that we have been scammed, proceed with caution!

    I am beyond angry with Choice Home Warranty. I’ve been without A/C for over 7 weeks in the middle of summer, and they’ve done nothing but give me the runaround. They’ve denied my claim repeatedly, each time coming up with a new excuse. They keep sending out different technicians — none of them actually fix the issue — and when I finally got a qualified technician who diagnosed the problem and submitted everything they asked for, CHW still claimed they needed more photos (which were already sent multiple times).

    This is clearly a scam. I’ve paid my $75 service fee like I’m supposed to. On top of that, I just renewed my warranty for $800, which I now completely regret. What did I pay for? To sweat in my own home while being gaslit and ignored? Let me be clear: if this issue is not resolved immediately, I will be taking legal action and filing formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau, state insurance board, and consumer protection agencies. I am done being patient. This has gone from inconvenient to inhumane.

    So far Choice Home Warranty has been good with providing services, but there are some drawbacks that I’m not happy about. First the service fees seem to increase frequently without notice, I already pay a monthly fee. Secondly when a claim is placed, it could take days for a service technician to come out. If the service technician cannot fix the problem on the initial visit or that day, it will take more time for the issue to be resolved.     Hot water tank was leaking. Made a claim, the company they hired set an appt for 5 days later and never showed up. They said they will hire another company which they could not find one and after 6 days they told me to find my own plumber and they will reimburse me. Turns out I needed my hot water tank replaced and the invoice sent to them from the plumber was a total of 2721.44 and they did approve the repair but is only going to reimburse me 614.00. A total failure. What is the purpose of having a home warranty when they do not have reputable companies that actually come out to your home when Choice Home warranty tells you that they will be there or when you do their job for them and hire a plumber yourself and they lie to you and do not reimburse the full amount. Now I have to contact agencies to help to get my money back. Will go to court if I have to.

    I filed a claim and after a week of Choice Home Warranty not being able to find a plumber to come unclog a pipe for sink/dishwasher, they had me hire a plumber and they would reimburse me after they approved the technicians diagnosis. Choice Home warranty would not tell me how much they would reimburse, but after all said and done they only reimbursed me $40 as that is how much it would cost if their contracted vendor would do it.

    Well guess what - you didn't get contracted vendor to do it so I had to get one that would come nowhere near a contracted rate of $40, but even telling me that would've been appreciative. The only way to get a diagnosis as they required was with a camera to see issue, but that's not covered even though the clog was due to wear in tear of hard water causing scaling so the technician said a jetting was necessary. They said no which is fine so we stuck to using a snake. But still reimbursement of only $40 on a much larger invoice. Very shady, with little no assistance. Use someone else.

    I cannot give a low enough rating for Choice Home Warranty. It is a huge ripoff. First, the process for getting a technician to my home is extremely inconvenient. It takes days to get someone out to look over the failed item. I have called them out for (dishwasher, water heater, A/C, garbage disposal, and microwave). They denied all of them and I have had to file an appeal on everything; most of them with no success. Second, the technicians they send over are very unprofessional. Typically, a father and son business where one of them is constantly in the phone answering calls for other customers, and they don’t use legitimate equipment. For example, the HVAC technician used a spray bottle with soap and water to check for a leak rather than using an electronic leak detector that could detect leaks within the unit.

    Third, the warranty company denies everything because in the fine print, all of the most common fail points are never covered and even if the issue is not directly related to those fail points if they will deny the whole claim. The only reason I kept the warranty is when the salesperson called me to sign back up, he assured me that this would not happen again, but here I am on the hottest day of the year with no A/C and having to go through another appeal. I received a second opinion with an outside company and they told me the warranty company’s guy was wrong, and that they should have done a more thorough evaluation. Do not use Choice Home Warranty. Nothing but nightmares.

    I joined CHOICE in 2012 when I bought my house and was with them for 12 years. For unknown reasons I left CHOICE and went with another company "Select". I called twice to put a claim in. Once for the freezer and the other claim for the A/C. Both times they sent a technician. After the technician evaluated the freezer and the other technician evaluated the A/C they reported the damage to "Select". In both instances, both claims were not approved. When I called to find out why, I was told that in the contract those items they did not cover. Basically "Select" takes the customer's money but nothing is covered. I immediately cancelled the contract and demanded they reimburse me the unused portion of the contract. I immediately called back CHOICE and I'm glad I'm back with them.

    Completely useless having the home warranty from CHOICE. They don’t reimburse and keep pointing some weird reasons for not reimbursing. Recently HVAC stopped working and I reached out to CHOICE support and raised the claim. Initially they said get a local available technician and will reimburse. But once the technician visited and provided the technical analysis-estimate and fix details for approval to proceed, then CHOICE denied it saying that the HVAC has failed under abnormal operating circumstances & catastrophic failure and they denied to pay. This kept going on for a week and we had to no other option but to pay out of pocket and get the HVAC repaired. When HVAC just stopped working in April due to age, how is it abnormal and what catastrophic. CHOICE left us with NO CHOICE. Please avoid CHOICE appliance insurance.

He indicated that he was not to repair or clean the dryer vent; that was not in his contract. He indicated that it was a separate job. I maintain that the vent is connected to the dryer and is a part of the system. It is essential to the operation of the dryer and should be treated as such in the work order. I just had my first problem with my air conditioner and I was told it could not be fixed because my problem was pre-existing.     Turns out my refrigerator was not broken. But he found the source of our issue and Anthony ran diagnostics and updates. He also gave us tips on how to lessen the probability of puddles in my kitchen! My husband and I both have a bad habit of holding the refrigerator and freezer doors open too long and I believe it led to excessive condensation which drained into the bottom pan & froze over to finally spill.     The repairs were not covered because it was not in the time required which it was. An appeal was entered. The experience was not at all what I expected. If the appeal is not overturned I will definitely be canceling my policy. I feel it is unfair. This shouldn't be this difficult to get a covered repair fixed.

    I submitted claim on Sunday evening. Was notified a tech was to come out on Monday. They were a no show. Contacted CHS on Tuesday. They assigned a new tech on Wednesday and according to CHS they wouldn't be available til Saturday. Tech did contact us and advised he could be out that day around 5 PM. He showed up. Did his thing, advised compressor was bad, needed replacement and left. Said needed CHS approval. Would advise. Next morning when checking claim status there was message that claim had been reassigned to another service company and they would be there on Friday. I contacted CHS asking what is going on, why the change. Was told by CHS that the company who came out said they could not complete the repair and they wanted to cancel. Out of curiosity I contacted that company asking why they canceled. They said they didn't cancel. CHS did. Now I'm wondering who is lying to whom.

    The 3rd company shows up on Friday. Does their evaluation. Turns out the problem was a loose wire in the main breaker panel. Side note I had that panel replaced a couple of months ago and so it kinda made sense as I know that something like that can happen, as you tighten large gauge wires they will sometimes need to be retighten due to compression spread. I still don't know why service companies were changed but from my view CHS made the right call by dumb luck and saved themselves a major claim expense. The second company tech didn't do a thorough diagnosis and went for the big bucks and what could be considered the most obvious reason for system not cooling. Had they replaced compressor it still would not have cooled due loose wire. The overall situation was a complete clown show. This is not the first time I've experienced no shows and inadequate service through CHS.

    CHS vetting of service contractors is not that good. It seems that anyone who says they are a service company becomes a service company for CHS without CHS checking them out on BBB or checking to see if the service company has the qualified people and experience to do the work. I am seriously considering finding a new home warranty company when the current CHS contract expires.

    It was found out that the Air conditioning need more coolant R2 gas or something and for dishwasher connector....The connector cavity was damaged and needed to be replaced... Choice Warranty personnel are there to take care of any or all the issues there may be....All claims are approved....I have never had one issue that reported where they shied away or look for reasons not to approve the claim... For so many years I have been a homeowner and never really believed in home warranty but now I think I would not buy one without it and My first and last Choice will always be Choice....They have definitely earned my Trust...

    This is my 3rd disappointing claim. I will not renew with Choice Home Warranty and I honestly warn others not to believe their hype. They do not honor their warranties as they claim. They either decline your claim or compensate at 15% to 25% of the valued loss. Compensation consists of Lowes gift cards that can't be used elsewhere or converted.

    I am extremely dissatisfied with Choice Home Warranty’s handling of the repairs to my water heater. It should not take 14 days without hot water to replace a thermocouple on a water heater. Most of this time was due to Choice’s very limited pool of plumbers in New Orleans that will accept their rates. All of this means the customer gets poor service on repairs that should be taken care of quickly. After 3 plumbers and 14 days we have hot water but this experience will ensure I do NOT renew with Choice Home Warranty.

    I have had Choice Home Warranty for a few years now and I have had them out 3-4 times total. I haven't had anything massive like and air conditioner, but with the appliances, I have been pleased. The service has always been within a couple days and they are friendly and professional.     Apparently, Only select components of the opener are covered. Doesn’t cover springs, the tracks, the rollers, etc. Disappointed that Choice is so misleading…. The coverage says “Garage Door Opener”.... It doesn’t say “Garage Door Opener Motor only”.     I am very disappointed with Choice Home Warranty and how inconvenient it is. I have only had to make 3 claims in 1 1/2 year, 1 per each home (3 homes) and only 1 of the 3 claims Choice Warranty sent a technician over. I still have 1 claim under process at finding me a technician and it's been over a week and my other claim. Well they are only reimbursing $120 for a $390 charge. My garage door spring failed. A single spring is $300 and a double spring is $390. I have a double spring but since only 1 spring broke Choice decided to only reimburse me half of the $390. Not how much a single spring itself would cost. Note that I live in Alaska, everything cost so much more and shipping cost is just as surprising.

    Per experience bundles always cost less than buying single, this is not a buy 1 get 1 free kind of deal and that's what Choice decided how they will reimburse me. (I guess that's why it's called Choice, they choose how they want to play.) Not worth how much I pay every month. It's very frustrating and inconsiderate, a claims manager scheduled a time to speak with me to just let me know that what has been decided to reimburse me for is a final decision and it is what it is. Why scheduled to intentionally just waste my time??? Don't waste your time and money with Choice Home Warranty or with Home Warranty of America. They're the same company!!!

    I was very disappointed in how long it took for Choice to find a technician for this job. The first technician committed to the job but failed to appear for almost two weeks and then just dropped out of the picture entirely. Choice seems to have difficulty finding suitable technicians for jobs in this area. Another technician did finally come and he was good. I was also made aware by Choice that buried in the myriad of fine print in their contracts that the damage to my disposal was not due to normal wear and tear and therefore not covered. They seem to have this answer ready at hand.

He damaged my water faucet and tried to buy a new one to replace it, messed up everything. Right now, I am still waiting for the solution of my washer. It has been more than a week.
