First of all I’m not here to criticize the technician that came out.. Johnny was excellent.. But what I am going to criticize is what a complete racquet Choice Home Warranty is… I will tell everyone I know to never waste hard earned money on you company… All you do is deceive people and decline their needs… You should be ashamed of what you do to people! I am so irritated with CHW right now, I haven't even contacted the case manager yet. I paid a plumber $60, my fee, to fix three sink drains where the parts have simply worn out, given they were over 15 years old. The claim was denied due to your assessment that the there was neglect, abuse or misuse. Of course this is untrue. The parts are plastic and they simply have worn out. I'm not even sure how you can neglect, abuse of misuse a sink, but you guys are so cheap you won't even provide a minimal response to a problem that is so obviously covered by my warranty. I will contact the case manager next week, but be assured I am very disgusted with your response.

The problem was originally stated that it was a problem with the light. Your service representative stated he would come back with a light bulb, which he did not do. I purchased and installed a new bulb, only to find that it still did not work properly. This is a built in microwave, not one sitting on the counter. I reported this to Choice and never heard anything back.

I placed a claim and waited about a week for service. The repair man knew based on the claim that the issue I reported was not covered. Therefore I had to pay for a service call and the work to be done. The issue is I could have gotten the garage repaired sooner by another company since the Choice was not going to cover it. So I lost time and my service fee because no one said it wasn't covered when I placed it.

Easy response from Choice regarding issue. Actually the contractor came a day early. Contractor was professional, knowledgeable, and proficient. The issue was diagnosed quickly. Several possibilities were given to us. Contractor stated that if the issue comes back again within 30 days, we need to contact Choice again with no charge to us.

The same problem/claim, 1st time never was resolved and had to restart a NEW claim for the same issue and argue for reimbursement and ONLY got partial payment, was not too happy with the whole experience and trying to get my own contractor because u did not have any contractors to send me!

This company has no moral, worst company to give your business. No empathy, stay clear of this company, don't end up like me. I filed A claim with CHW for my broken refrigerator, it took 4 days for someone to come out to check my refrigerator, a day later I received a email stating, "We won't repair or place your refrigerator as stated in the contract," no other explanation provided. My contract stated it cover wear and tear, the contractor stated that the rubber wear out on the door and causing outside air to enter the refrigerator and something else cause by long term use. I am 55 yrs who wouldn't damage my property. Why are they denied my claim.

Spoke with claims person, Andrea ** first. She was totally dishonest with me. Told me that the contractor CHW sent out said that my AC unit outside had physical damage and wasn’t covered under the contract. Only normal wear and tear. We argued because the leak is in the attic unit. She put me on hold and called the contractor. She came back to me and said I was right it was in the attic. And that the coils had physical damage. Weird cuz I bought this house new 9 years ago and I watched the technician who had to remove the protective tape over the bolts to open the housing. Never had been opened in 9 yrs and the AC worked fine until this week. I contacted the contractor myself and he told me that is not what he told Andrea. He put it in writing to me that he told Andrea that it was due to normal wear and tear. She lied again.
I asked to speak to her supervisor and was informed that their supervisors do not take calls and that CHW wasn’t going to pay the claim. And would not patch me through to anyone else and told me I could go on the website and get that info! Ugh! Finally received a call back from a lady named Glen. She read to me what the original ticket that was submitted by your contractor stated and sure enough it stated due to normal wear and tear. Andrea is a very dishonest person. I called a local contractor and he also said it was definitely normal wear and tear and they will be here today to fix my AC. He will provide me additional pictures to use in court to prove it is normal wear and tear.
I informed both Andrea and Glen that I had COPD and could not be without an ac. Andrea couldn’t care less. I went to a doctor appt this morning to seek relief. I will be asking for refunds for my contract with CHW, reimbursement for the charges I am paying out of pocket today to repair, attorney fees and mental anguish suffered during this scam process. Andrea is guilty of misconduct and abuse of an elderly person.

I am very dissatisfied with Choice Home Warranty. I don't put much claims in but when I do they go out their way to deny the claim, And state, "Read your warranty contract." I have been with another warranty company and if the repair was expensive they offered to cover half of the repair.

I submitted a claim to patch a big hole left in my drywall from another claim (we had a plumbing issue and the plumber needed access thru the wall). First issue was when trying to make the claim. Drywall wasn't an option to choose for the online claim request, so I had to call. I wasn't able to give a detailed description over the phone since it was all automated. The company that was hired was amazing! Unfortunately, it was decided that the repair wouldn't be covered by the home warranty. It is a little frustrating that the damage was caused by another company/claim and it wasn't covered.

The customer service that I received was superb. The policy was well explained to me, and he supplied me with all available discounts! I would definitely refer Choice Home Warranty to my family and friends. The price along with the discount that I received, was a surprise to me. I have used other home warranty companies before, but I have never had one with this much coverage. I have never had one with a price this low either. I feel great about selecting Choice Home Warranty.

Choice got someone to my house within days of my calling them. Plumber was very knowledgeable and fixed my problem very quickly. He kept me informed of my appointment time and showed up on time. Recommended a product for me to use. Plumber also told me Choice was one of the best Home Warranty companies.

Island Appliance Repair; The customer service rep who set the appointment was polite and helpful. The tech Tiffany was amazing. She called me when she was on the way to my home and she was on time. Tiffany was knowledgeable, polite and very helpful. She diagnosed the problem quickly and went right to work. I hope I can request her next time I need service!

Wanted a reliable repair service for a appliances and air conditioning at a reasonable price. The representative with whom I spoke was knowledgeable and answered all questions. I was dissatisfied with the company who had previously serviced our home. I liked the options which CHOICE offered. There was flexibility in terms of length of contract which I found appealing.

The technician arrived in the time frame, but had a hard time diagnosing the problem. He is ordering parts and will be returning when they come in. He was very professional and courteous. I would give 5 stars, but machine not fixed yet, not to the technician's discredit. I will be happy to update with 5 stars when my machine repair is complete.

We had a terrible technician to fix our dishwasher twice. Horrible. Choice Home Warranty finally send an excellent technician the third time. He was experienced, professional and knowledgeable and did an excellent job. We are sorry that it took so long and we had to fight so hard to fix our dishwasher,, but Choice Warranty finally came through for us.

The garage door would constantly stop in the process of opening and closing. Preston saw the door stop partially open or closed. He knew immediately that it was a wiring issue. He quickly and accurately fixed the problem. I'm very satisfied with his timely work. I would definitely refer him to anyone with garage door problems.

It was a quick response when the problem was reported online. There was an immediate reply from the technician, and approval of estimate by the warranty company. Two days later the replacement was complete by competent and friendly technicians with excellent communication. I highly recommend Choice Home to family & friends.

Not at all happy with the sales person who was very rude and pushing me to buy in for 5 years when I kept saying I'm good with 1 year. Every few minutes he was bringing the pricing down which almost makes you wonder if this is a scam. I had to finally disconnect the call.

The technician replaced condenser with new condenser and finished the job in 40 minutes in rainy conditions. He removed small baby snake that was present near the air conditioning place. Great job. Technician is friendly and also respectful. I recommend this company just cooling for repair services. Great work. 👍👍

Claim for vent fan in bathroom was denied. Motor is messed up. It's turning but makes a loud noise. Ceiling fan only covered $70 on claim. No way to buy a ceiling fan for less than $130. So basically half of it was paid. Paid $120 in service calls. Even those same guy did both claims so paid him $60 to do nothing on the vet fan. Not happy

Technician was very good. He knew what he was doing and made the repair quickly and efficiently. The only issue was the language barrier. Although he spoke English it was difficult to understand when he described the problem and what he did to fix it. He communicated with helper in Spanish only.

I love the price and how fast they provide service. I know it takes some time to get technicians but when they do they are always the best. They took care of the problem with the first company assigned to complete the repair, and assigned another one that gave prompt service. Choice Home Warranty answered the claim promptly and when there was a problem they rectified the situation. I Would recommend CHW to a friend or family member. What more can be said?

Plumber came and immediately changed out the disposal. He said if it was leaking it was bad. He commented on not letting silverware, etc. get in the disposal, but I explained that I have small strainers in both sides of my sink to prevent this from happening. My only complaint on all Service Calls is the 5 hour timeline. That is way too long to have to wait for service, and not be able to leave my house.

Terry was great. He was thorough and professional. He explained what needed to be done and he did it. He seemed to enjoy his work, and that was a nice surprise. It took a while, and he kept me informed during the entire process. In order to fix my issue, he had to do work that required a payment. That was very disappointing, as this was the second time I had an issue with plumbing at this house. However, I understand that is my responsibility, and I trust that Terry's work will stand.

Salesman debits the monthly payment from my account, he then tries to talk me into paying for 6 years upfront. He wouldn’t take no for an answer! At the end of call I told him I didn’t want the warranty at all. Imagine my surprise to find that $47 was debited from my acct. I get a call today to see if I got some paperwork. This guy brings up alarm systems, tell him I am not interested and he goes on and on. Tells me about the robberies in my neighborhood, does his best to frighten me since I live alone. After telling him no about 8 times, I raised my voice when I again said I wasn’t interested. He wanted to know why I was mad. I finally hung up on him.
Your salesman need to be taught not to pester and nag your customers, it is a very big turn off. The ad I inquired about on Facebook stated I should get 30 days free yet it isn’t mentioned in the paperwork. After my experience, I have a really bad taste in my mouth for your company. I told the first salesman that I didn’t want it so I shouldn’t have been charged. I feel like I should be given a refund and the policy should be canceled. I do not like dealing with pushy people!

Vendor response time is slow. Many of the vendors are coming from Orlando. I live in Palm Bay. I am disappointed that I have to wait so long for services. There should be more vendors available and closer to my area in order to expedite requests. I signed up for warranty services in case of any issues I may have so that I can minimize repair costs. I was told by an agent that I can find a vendor and if they agree to be paid through Choice then I can get reimbursed. That is too much work for me and that is not the service I signed up for. Choice agents should provide that service.

I was satisfied with the installation of a new water heater. I was satisfied with the replacement of an electrical outlet. I am uncertain about how I feel with the experience with the repair of my Air Conditioner. Since this was the second trip, and the technician had requested a different solution. My experience with Choice has been great up until my latest experience. I’ve had a claim in since Feb. 2025 for furnace repair. The Contractor turned out to be unreliable. A new Contractor has been assigned (Sears Home Services) and they have given me an 8 hour window of time to make the repair on two separate occasions. Since I live alone I have had to take the day off in anticipation of them coming out. Each time (towards the end of the window given) they have cancelled. What’s more, it is impossible to get to a human! All communication is through an AI system! I told Choice that I can’t trust Sears because they keep canceling the appointments they set and I’ve wasted 2 vacation days waiting on them to come out. As of this writing a new Contractor has not been assigned.

In this particular case of a water pipe with a hole in it inside the laundry room wall causing us to have no water. The plumbing contractor contacted me and the next morning the leaking pipe repairs were made. I highly recommend Matt ** of SouthLine Plumbing for his prompt handling of our water leak!

The service is okay if you live in a larger city. I live in a small town, and many times techs are sent from hundreds of miles away, if they are sent at all. I have tried to cancel, but my calls are automatically redirected to a Call-Back option. They NEVER call me back. I have sent numerous emails through their online portal to cancel, and they have been ignored. One of my calls went through once, and when I mentioned canceling, my call was redirected to the Call-Back option. Of course, they didn't call back. I just informed them that I would contact my credit card company to dispute any further charges.

They don't cover anything, empty promises. Paid Tech 75, for nothing, then they want another 292 dollars to repair, ridiculous, I have canceled their policy, emailed them, no response, called several times, finally they answered, told me that I have to pay additional cost, manager was willing to pay me to fix it myself.

I'm very disappointed about the decision on my claim because the email sent to me stated that a condensor fan for the A/C unit was "damage" when it was working fine and all of a sudden stater making noise.. No one damage the part or no one touched the unit.. The technician stated that the fan was unbalance not damaged.. This is my second claim I have done and it's the second claim that has been denied.. So I'm contemplating on canceling the policy because I have no assistance with this warranty.

Gentleman was very polite, however, once he saw I had Samsung appliance he let me know they always have problems. Needless to say this is a service call placed before for the same issue. Hopefully, this concern will be fixed this time because these service fees are adding up on top of the monthly rate is becoming costly. Wondering what is the limit of repairs before CHW will decide the replace instead of keep repairing?

Your office contacted me that the work was not covered under your warranty. I have a leaking bathroom pipe. The pipe was not installed correctly. Your office stated that since it wasn't wear and tear then it is not covered under warranty. Had a stopped-up toilet. They got a plumber scheduled for the next day. Didn't need him and cancelled the claim. All very easy to do and good feedback on the claim. Not so much on the cancel. Did request a call back and got it in good time. The claim cancel had gone through and he verified it to me.

It was a rocky start because of the warranty company triple booking him on the day he was supposed to come to us so he showed up the next day and suggested that we do need a new unit. I have paid for my section of the purchase and now he needs to come back to finish the job so I am waiting anxiously to get this air conditioner fixed.

The technician came out quickly, but it has taken a little while to hear back after he ordered a new AC unit. He came out on Monday and I have not heard from him since. It is now Thursday. Plus, these are the hottest days of the year and it is miserable in my house. I attempted to contact him today and left a Vm for him to returned my call.

Easy to understand, very professional. He took pictures and explained them to us since we can not go down the stairs. CHW denied my claim when my refrigerator failed. We have only been in this home for 8 months and they claim there was a power surge that knocked out the control panel and dirt build up and those aren't considered "normal wear and tear." There was no power surge that I'm aware of and all my other appliances seem fine. We have been living out of an ice chest for over a week while we waited for CHW to make a decision on the claim, having to throw away hundreds of dollars worth of food.
We purchased this home with a home warranty specifically because we wanted protection against issues like this. As soon as I was aware of the problem I performed what any reasonable homeowner would consider appropriate troubleshooting and maintenance and replaced the filter at my own expense and paid the required $75 fee to have a technician diagnose the problem etc. It seems unfair to deny coverage for problems that existed before we even owned the appliance.

Matt from OSP was very pleasant, knowledgeable and arrived on time as expected. I am satisfied with Choice’s service contractor OSP Plumbing & Rooter. Their customer service is great. They are far better than AHS. I signed up for 3 years with them expecting they do a good job. So far I am satisfied. Hopefully they’ll continue same great job both in Nevada and California.

Although I didn't receive service yet for my microwave, the initial call in to schedule a technician was very positive! Hopefully I receive a new microwave when the technician arrives because it was tested from the breaker to the outlet and it's definitely the microwave that has seen its last days of use.

The technician was able to troubleshoot the problem with the furnace and give suggestions for avoiding a problem like that in the future! There was a clog in the drain that was causing water to overflow and leak! I was relieved to find out that there were no more serious problems!

I submitted a claim for AC repair on June 21st and it was scheduled with Lone Stars Home and Commercial service. My appointment was continually rescheduled and I couldn't get a straight answer why. Choice and Lone Star accused the other for the delay. As of June 26th I have yet to have the repair done. I will not renew my contact with Choice and one Star is untrustworthy.

Technician was great to communicated his arrival and did the work, although he messed up the cold and hot horses having them reversed. However, the approval didn’t come until more than a day after the job was completed, so I was left, hoping that it would be covered. Ended up having to pay some extra fee. Probably got ripped off by the warranty company.

I have a home warranty with Choice. My air went out the week of 6-25-2025. During.. near 100⁰ weather. I called Choice (on Sunday) for them to have fixed. It took Them a little more than a 1½ days to get in contact with a technician to come out. The appointment was scheduled for Wednesday of that week. Choice kept me informed of the situation. And I was overjoyed when the technicians showed up on Tuesday.. and by that evening it was fixed. Thanks to the technicians and to Choice. I paid my service fee.. Again thanks to all! Especially the technicians who came out and worked in that heat. Glad I had the foresight to get a home warrenty plan.. You never know when you will need it.

Your service is the worst. It took forever to get someone assigned to the claim. When you offered reimbursement for it I got my own contractor. He was wonderful. Came the same day and corrected the problem in a timely fashion. Before I could fill out the reimbursement form you assigned someone else and revoked the option. I did get you to reinstate it but the process is so difficult that my contractor does not want to do it. Therefore I get NO REIMBURSEMENT from you. You are impossible to contact via phone. I am sorry I ever signed up for your program.

The plumber they sent was nice, knowledgeable, prompt and kept everything clean. I would recommend him. Choice warranty leaves much to be desired as it took a week for them to find a plumber to show up. The first plumber no showed. The second plumber was great and timely. I recommend Golden pipe but not Choice.

We're extremely satisfied with the technicians you send to our home. We experience one very rude one, another one who tried to get away without fixing the problem, but the others are on a scale of 1-10, they're a 10, minus the two I mentioned. My problem is when some part(s) are covered, you throw extra parts to say, "BY THE CODE...." or you say it's a fixture, when it's not! We pay monthly, or if we miss payments, then we need something fixed, you spring with something off the wall and that's why it took me so long for me to pay, TO HEAR BAD NEWS OVER AND OVER AGAIN! I come to a conclusion, after everything is fixed, we will look somewhere else!

We have had numerous claims and CHW has paid on most. They even reimbursed me when the contractor they sent misdiagnosed our electrical issue and they declined the work. We hired our own electrician who said it was a faulty outlet which CHW had said they would pay as it was wear and tear. But we have heard that CHW takes too long to pay contractors and that is a concern as it is hard to get GOOD contractors to do the work if they have to wait to get paid. I would recommend CHW pay the contractors as soon as they get the bill if the work was approved.

Very interested to see if this reimbursement option works better than previous delays in getting a tech here, and having him report back to you, which was terrible and took weeks. HOWEVER, your new policy includes paying CHW $100, while I have to do your work in finding a tech in my area who is willing to work with a warranty company. My HVAC IS 22 years old and you do not guarantee a replacement and you still make me PAY $100? For what? You’ve been happily receiving my monthly premium for 2 years, but I have to take the pictures and send the report and wait for you to approve my technician report? Bad policy.

I see the process is very streamlined but the technician company you recommend often are not available when really needed. Like my rental home AC was broken. There is heat wave in Chicago and there was no consideration, we were told the technician will come after 4 days. Same is the situation once happened in winter..in extreme cold technician will attend after 3days... If that is improved and taken into consideration will make you different from others.

I would recommend the service company because the technician was very polite and knowledgeable. However I would not recommend CHW. It took 2 weeks for you to arrange for service. This was my last claim took 9 weeks to complete which was on a washing machine. When an appliance like a these break down service is required immediately.

We had a pipe burst under the kitchen sink.. You denied coverage. I don't understand why. When I took this policy I was given it for $54 with copay of $85.00 because I am a veteran. You have collected my premium but you don't cover many things. When you do cover it you don't pay near what they charged. We had to pay $798.00 to fix the water leak.

I had to still pay money because some things were not covered.. Same thing happened when I needed a/c repaired.. I will be canceling policy. Save your monthly payment in an account for emergency repairs.

The toilet on my lower floor was leaking at the base. The technician had to lift it up in order to repair the problem. He sealed the space at the bottom leaving a portion unsealed in the back so that I could see if it was leaking again. In case it does happen again the flange may need to be replaced.

I called to file a claim for a leaking water heater. Customer service rep quickly took the pertinent information and set expectations of the services. Set did not agree with our schedule. Within 8 minutes, the services were set with the plumber! Really quick response! To top it all off, I was able to call the plumber to confirm that the appointment needed to be changed as we were going out of town. Thank you for ensuring we were given their contact information!

It's yet to be determined if my AC is actually fixed. The outdoor unit had quit working and the technician found that the breaker was tripped. He said he checked everything and everything seemed to be working properly. He mentioned that perhaps lightning may have caused the tripped breaker. That was yesterday (Tuesday 6/24). I went upstairs this afternoon (Wednesday 6/25) and it was 78 degrees. The breaker was tripped once again. Thus I am not certain it is truly repaired. We'll see.

Our air conditioner stop working late Friday night. I called Choice on Saturday, we had 100 degree heat. The operator was note concerned we got notice on Sunday that we would have a technician come by on Thursday afternoon. I called back to Choice and insisted to get a technician sooner, they can Tuesday, repair our unit and got us out of the heat. Wish Choice was more concerned about our problem.

My experience with Choice has been positive. Actually being paid for a claim has been easy and fair, with the exception of one claim that was finally paid. I am now in the middle of a claim waiting for a diagnosis and estimate and so far there are no problems. Like many companies, However, Choice has made it difficult to actually talk with a live person and I think they would have more satisfied customers if they changed their communication procedures. Many times claims are involved and do not fit the tight guidelines given on their website. I hope Choice will consider this comment. Overall, based on my experience, I would recommend Choice.

The beginning of process was good. Making the claim easy and quick. Vendor confirmed appt the next business morning and the tech arrived at the time note. From there it went downhill. The tech clearly was on the clock to get out as soon as possible. The unit had some discoloration on it and I am very familiar with it so said I would take care of it. He made minor repairs but didn't clear the line or put bacterial product in it didn't even put the air filter back in. I get a copy of the invoice and it says my warranty might not be honored because I did the remediation of the discoloration. He said nothing about that when here, didn't offer to do the service or explain anything. This is not a good start for me.

The water leak has been repaired today but this is fifth day. The repair occurred on Saturday early morning. Now I have been informed that for dry wall repair (which was cut for leak repair), I have to file another claim. However, response from Choice was quick and process was easy to follow. Based on what the sales rep told me I decided to sign up and try Choice Home Warranty. After carefully reviewing the contract I discovered many caveats and limitations to what is actually covered. Furthermore, I read dozens of reviews that claimed that the company sent shoddy repairmen, took months to provide new appliances when necessary, and as in my case poor communication in getting back to customers. Therefore I attempted to cancel my contract and it took 2 hours on the phone to be connected to the cancellation dept. I hope this is the end of it.

Scheduling an appointment was the first hassle. They wouldn't do it right over the phone. Instead, multiple times, they would schedule appointments without telling me, and when they scheduled it for a time when I wouldn't be home, they made me call the technician to reschedule. After paying the service call fee for a problem with my fridge and two attempts at fixing the leak, it was determined that they can't and won't do anything because a spring that is needed to fix it is no longer available.
Meanwhile, my fridge still leaks and the little door for the icemaker is stuck open allowing room temperature air inside the freezer which softens some items and causes ice buildup inside. After repeated attempts asking them to do anything to compensate for the problem (including returning my service fee payment) they refused to do anything. However, they are happy to consistently bug me by phone and email to renew the plan. No thank you! I'm better off taking care of it myself.

Sadly, home warranties have got this figured out. Different from years ago when they actually did what they said they would do, now they've apparently got a full-service team to find anyway to deny the "bigger" claims, which is why most of us ever even pay for this service. I'd say that please read the fine print that is on every page of your policy, but even then -- and these teams must be on a "bonus" level pay structure, because if you're one of those that is like a dog with a bone because you know you're right? Be prepared to spend lots of your time and effort for a trivial return. HW companies today are benefiting off the services of yesterday and eventually it will catch up to them. So that old saying "BUYER BEWARE" has never been more true than today!

Very poor communication from the contractor and/or Choice Warranty. My warranty claim is approved but denied the replacement of my hot water heater. This is the 5th warranty claim I entered and the last claim was the only one where a contractor came out to inspect the unit. The others, they told me to find a plumber and send them the bill. It is very hard to find a plumber these days. I would like an explanation on why my hot water will not be replaced.

The air conditioning technician, Kristoffer, gave me great assurance that he would be able to rectify the problem. I was very comfortable with him. His reassuring personality put me very much at ease. He went above and beyond the call by coming late afternoon when he was already done with work for the day. My dishwasher was once again not working. Had your tech guy here in May who replaced the contour panel. I filed a claim on Sunday. I was given a 6/30 appointment. I explained I need service sooner as I am having company for dinner at end of the week. Contacted vendor, could not accommodate. Tried again with your rep. and explained I will get someone on my own which I did. They were here today having to order another contour panel???? I requested my $60 refunded. They would not. I have been in touch with AMEX to file a dispute. This is not what I call customer service. (Megawatt Electric) I believe that’s the name of the company that was hired for the job, however; the technician was really good. He explained everything he was doing very efficient and professional. He fixed our patio outdoor top highlight that was flickering and also the lighting in our garage as well as the closet garage that were related to wiring. I had to use the reimbursement method since after 6 days you were still unable to find a technician. I hired a private contractor to replace water heater, overflow tank and associated plumbing. I hired GEM Plumbing which has a large RI presence and is a very reliable and reputable co. The estimate was for $5192 which was sent to you. Gem is a flat fee company so no breakdown of parts and labor could be supplied. The reimbursement you gave was $675. That is only 13% of the quoted cost. When I called you I was told that they have to breakdown the labor and parts. This does happen when they are a flat rate company.

Woke up on Saturday morning, and my food is warm, lots the Waterford, the technician came out to the compressor was gone, wore out his lies to get a new refrigerator but Choice decided to fix this one. Well by the time it gets fixed, it’s gonna be over seven days and I’ll probably lose the rest of the food Which is two or $300 worth. I just can’t believe it by the time I get through. It’ll probably be cheaper to just forget about Choice Home Warranty and go out and buy my own. I am very dissatisfied.

I do Choice Home Warranty on the phone. I don’t do it online because I don’t like these automated systems without speaking to a person.
I haven’t called very often – only five or less times. They get here pretty quick usually. The fourth time was the only one I’ve had that they declined. The guy came out to fix my refrigerator, looked underneath it, called the company, and then they declined the service call.
Everything else has worked out pretty good. I’m satisfied. When they did work, they did good.

We called in our need June 11th. We finally had a technician come out June 16th. And then everything went quickly. Choice approved the repair June 17th, and the technician had the part June 19th. Due to Covid he couldn't put it in for several days which was no one fault. The hardest part was communicating with Choice when it took five days to get a technician. That was very frustrating. Seems the technician was on vacation which begged the question: Does Choice only have one technician? Overall we are satisfied that it has been resolved. My air conditioner suddenly started leaking water, creating a very uncomfortable situation, especially with the outdoor temperature soaring to a scorching 100 degrees Fahrenheit. As a vulnerable senior citizen, I urgently required a technician to resolve this critical issue. Despite submitting a claim, I was repeatedly met with unhelpful AI-generated messages, and no tangible assistance was provided whatsoever. This complete lack of human support has left me feeling profoundly dissatisfied.

They scam you, take your money every month and then go out of their way to deny any claim. You essentially have to repair or replace your systems first in order for them to be covered, yet will sign you up and take your money without doing any kind of inspection or asking age on your systems, making you believe you have them covered. Claim was denied because there was dust on control unit. The tech THEY sent (that I had to wait for a week to come out), cut wires, blew the fuse and left, leaving cut wires exposed stating the board was bad and was shorting out. Was just the fuse popping. I called two other techs who inspected and both stated the fact there was dust on the control unit had NOTHING to do with whatever was causing the failure.
After they replaced the blown fuse and reconnected the wires the CHW tech left uncut, the unit turned on. When I appealed the denied claim, they said that due to the dust, it hadn't been maintained and so they won't cover it, as though there was some malicious neglect on my part. Unless your unit is essentially new, just out of factory warranty, and rarely if ever used in a perfect spot free environment, shined up to look as though it's new, they will find a way to get out of covering it. I'm sure if they respond to this they will say there was debris and dust on the unit which indicated it wasn't maintained, even though it had NOTHING to do with the failure. Keep in mind I recently purchased this house so even you THINK you have coverage, they will deny you even if fault was from previous owner - yet they will boast about ALL the systems they cover when you sign up - full blown frauds. Had other home warranty companies with great results. AVOID CHW!!!!

I had a repairman out within three days parts needed to be ordered and as soon as I received them, I notified choice and the repair man was out within a couple days. You asked me to evaluate the technician you sent. He was wonderful, and I said so. But I am confused by your follow-up. The tech said our tank had to be drained, and he put in an order to Choice to return and do that. But you denied it. You invited me to challenge your denial, which I did. (Your technician said this was needed; why would you deny it?) The letter I received from your Case Manager contained a link to schedule an appointment for a discussion. But the link didn't work. It also contained a telephone number to call. I have called the number twice, and both times I was told I would receive a return call, but that has not come. So: I was very happy with the technician you sent, and eager for him to do the work he indicated. But I am baffled by your denial of coverage, and by my inability to connect with the Case Manager you assigned.

Our technician recommended repairing parts for my microwave. Parts would cost $306. Choice Warranty decided since it was an older model, it was best to replace. I was given a settlement of $194...which certainly does not cover a replacement countertop/over the oven model microwave. Ok, so I found a good microwave for $199, but still had to spend another $350 on the trim kit.

I called Saturday afternoon with an air conditioner problem. I was contacted later and told there was a problem assigning a technician but would update me within 24 hours. I heard nothing all day Sunday so I cancelled my plans for Monday so I would be available. I heard nothing all morning on Monday so I called Choice and they said they were trying to assign someone manually and did not know when that would happen. At about 2 PM I got an email telling me a tech would arrive between 3 and 8. Tech subsequently called and arrived in a timely manner. It would have been nice to have been updated on Sunday and on Monday morning so I could plan my day. Not being informed as to progress was frustrating and annoying given the temp was close to 100 degrees and we had no air conditioning.

Called Choice Warranty 6/21/25 for AC service. Received appointment for service by AAA Plumbing HVAC due 6/24/25 sometime after 3PM. Contacted AAA by phone listed on line to be switched over to another phone number to leave a message. I also detailed on line a fault in the AC system that could help speed up AC service. I submitted a claim to repair my refrigerator. It was approved and a service tech was dispatched to my residence a few days later. He quickly found the problem, I paid him for the house call, he stated he would order the part, and left. The FOLLOWING DAY I received an email from Choice stating that after talking to the tech they would NOT cover the cost of the repair. When I questioned the service tech, he stated he told them the part was a common issue. I requested a relook from Choice and I received yet an email from them stating my relook manager had been assigned and a date and time had been assigned to go over my options. At the given date and time I was waiting on the call from Choice for the relook. I am STILL waiting on the call from Choice. When I selected Choice Home Warranty, it is apparent I made the wrong choice.

It took 8 days to get someone to check microwave and tell us it wasn’t repairable. Then found you don’t replace items, you just forward some money and wash your hands of the problem. You are sending $190 and the cost of a new microwave will be over $600. You don’t have to be a genius to know you are getting cheated in the replacement.

It takes a long time for Choice to get a representative out. My refrigerator is not working, and my ticket is still a ticket. I have called on it once every two weeks for the last six weeks. There’s a contractor coming on Thursday. That’s how long it took them.

I’ve had Choice Home Warranty for a year now. The first time I used it, it took five days for them to come out. I had a clogged pipe, but they did fix it. I’ve used them for my microwave, and they've been okay. The last time, I submitted the request online instead of calling, and they came the next day to fix it. Everything worked out.
The last couple of times, they've been good. But before that, they were having issues. In fact, they gave me $500 to cover the cost of having someone else do the work.

I was protected with Choice for two years and I was not happy with them. I used them up to four times and I wasn't satisfied with any of the work. Everything fell through the cracks during the first year. It took four months for me to get a stove replacement and they only gave me $389 on almost a $1,000 stove. That wasn't great because that was the only claim I had in that year.
This last year, I had an electrician come in to change the GFIs and he screwed up every single outlet in my home. I had to pay the company and I had to pay again to get somebody else in. It was just a bad job. Choice wasn't working for me. Every time I put a claim in, I lost money. When I told them I was going to cancel my warranty, they called immediately and tried to talk me out of it, but I just went ahead and canceled them. I would tell anyone to not go with Choice.

A friend had Choice and he was talking about it, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I’ve had them for six months and so far, they've been good. They seem to be worth it. I used them for one thing. It was some plumbing work. I had a leak and they had a contractor call me. We set up a time for them to come out and they fixed it. Choice also got me an alarm system put in.
I had to go to my friend first to figure out how to submit claims online, but it didn't seem difficult. I don’t like how they book appointments when they assign a contractor to you though. They automatically assign you an appointment and just send you a message instead of calling you first and trying to set one up. Then you have to call and cancel or change it. Otherwise, everything's been good so far.

We left and came back because this home warranty company was so good to our family. Our AC broke down during a stretch of very hot summer days. Typically, CHW is able to schedule a technician within a few hours, but this time it took two days. That delay was a bit frustrating given the heat. However, once the technician arrived, he quickly diagnosed the issue and got the AC up and running again. We appreciated the fast and efficient repair once help finally arrived.

I have been with 'Choice Warranty' for a good while with no completed claims. I have initiated claims but never followed through because of one reason or another. I do have one issue to voice concerns with. Sometimes it is easier to talk to a real person to exactly explain an issue to avoid confusion with the technician that may be expedited; but that is another story.

The Technician was knowledgeable, courteous and professional. Once the technician arrived, he noticed right away what the problem was. He also updated our washer. The problem was a bottle cap sitting under the top door. Once the cap was removed which my wife left, problem was solved. We were so focused on the start button, we never picked up the door.

The Technician spent a lot of time trying to fix the unit. We thought it was fixed and I paid him the 100. Fee. When he was getting in his car I tried to open the door and it didn’t work. He came back and worked another 20 minutes on it and finally determined that it couldn’t be fixed properly and I needed a new unit. Unit. He left and I forgot to ask him about the payment. He was a very polite and hard worker. I assumed he would be the one that would be coming back to install the unit. Now I have not heard anything from your company or from him. Please give me a status update.

I’ve been with you a year and I have had 2 unpleasant experiences. One with a tradesman not finishing a claim in a timely manner and I had to cancel and resubmit the claim. This second claim I was charged $15 more than I should have been for the service fee. I had to call customer support to get the correct service fee charge added to my claim.

There was a leak under my sink. It looked like it was coming from my two year old washer. The technician came out to fix the leak and noticed one of the elbows was loose and tightened it and my problem was solved. Had a date for washer repair between 6am and 10am. Called vendor several times with no response. Repair man arrived at 6pm that night took w minutes to say, "Yep it's broke, do not have the parts and will get back with you in a week and a half." We had the parts 2 days after he left. Really disappointed with initial call as it was a foreign person and could not understand her. I have a 3 year contract with you all. What about it? Should I cancel and go to someone else?

Contacted Choice, had repair company come next morning. Man from FUSE A/C Appliance was polite, worked on washer but needed to order stabilizer bars. Works again, but Will finish work in a week. The heating element on my dishwasher melted the tub and caused a major leak. The dishwasher is 18 years old and the brackets no longer hold the heating element up. Choice Warranty refused to cover the dishwasher saying I caused the heating element to lean down into the tub. The technician agreed it was normal wear and tear for an old dishwasher and the brackets wear out. The fact that they won't cover it, have made me decide to find a new warranty co and I will be canceling my coverage with Choice.

The two guys came in to fix our Central Air problem. The Central Air unit was confirmed working pretty good, unfortunately they found the evaporator coil was 20+ years old.. AAHHHH!! They were professional and sympathetic; letting us know how to deal with the problem. I asked if they could be the ones to replace the item and said it was possible. They were that good.

HVAC techs Jesse and Josh from Simplicity diagnosed problem, repaired the unit and made sure it was operating as expected. This got us nice and cool again. My A/C went out. Being a covered system under my home warranty I put in a claim with Choice. The technicians Choice sent out were great, but things went downhill from there. Turned out to be the evaporator unit. It had multiple visible non-repairable coolant leaks. Rather than replacing the unit, Choice would only authorize a system recharge which is a very temporary band aid at best. Kind of like trying to carry water in a bucket with multiple holes, just not going to get very far. A recharge might last anywhere from a few weeks to as little as a few hours, regardless, it is not the appropriate solution.
Since unreliable A/C is not a viable option in Texas in the summer I ended up replacing the unit out of pocket ($6500). The primary reason I purchased a home warranty from Choice was for major system repairs such as this and the good reviews they had at the time I purchased. I am very disappointed in the outcome and service received from Choice and am questioning whether my purchase of a home warranty from them was a wise financial move.

You sent your tech Out to my home as my air-conditioning isn't cooling like it should. Your technician sent in what it needed. I'm paying your company to cover my air-conditioning units. As far as I can see each time you've been called you fail to cover the problem.. Last time you sent someone so inefficient the unit poured water through my ceiling.. I had to call the company I had used for over23 years. They fixed the problem and sent you a email what the problem was that was contradictory to your person. The plumber found the problem and then he fixed it, he was friendly and informative. We were happy to have the problem repaired. He explained everything abut the problem. We called Choice on a friday night and on saturday the repairman and his son were here. We are older and were pleased the problem was taken care of!

First problem came when a claim year after first claim the same company came. They in my opinion knew they failed the year before. They charged me extra to clean my entire AC system the previous year. Then went directly to the air handler and took a few photos. They showed it was not cleaned. Choice decided to deny claim based on this information. I called three other companies for a opinion. ALL three said the small dirt in air handler would not cause a second frailer of the condenser. Summary Choice used their own vendor to deny the claim. Next claim on a second home a well pump failed when the home plumbing malfunctioned. Choice denied whole claim saying pump not covered. Agree pump not covered but the original cause home plumbing was. Again Choice used deceptive excuses.

After receiving three different appointments for service, none of which were fulfilled, we finally heard (more than two weeks later) from Whirlpool with an appointment date that was finally fulfilled. Their technician was friendly and seemingly efficient, cleaning our coils and finding no other problems. However, two days after his departure freezer tempers varied sharply. Today neither the freezer or the refrigerator temperatures are right.

Choice Home Warranty has rapidly become (in my opinion as a consumer with 6 contracts with Choice) Perhaps the the most dishonest and "vile" company that I have had the experience to deal with.! In the most recent claims made by me they have denied any responsibility for payment. The reasons have been in some cases "Blatant Lies" as to what the assigned Technicians reported as the cause of failure of the inoperable items!
Lately, because of their refusal to pay technicians and the wait time for necessary repairs to electrical and heating systems, it has become 'almost "impossible to locate any Technicians who will work for Choice. As previously stated by other unhappy customers, Choice often proposes cash reimbursements that are way below what a replacement would cost. As a licensed Real Estate Broker for many years it has come to my attention that some of the Larger most Successful Brokerage firms no longer purchase Home Warranty Plans for their Buyers because firms Like Choice will not pay for requested covered repairs and thus create ill will between clients and Brokers!

Our second smaller air conditioner went out - it was just blowing hot air so we turned it off. A technician from Cortinas & Sons came out the very next day after reporting it to Choice Home Warranty. He put in a new fan motor and freon and it now works great.

The good - Randall was very personable and seemed knowledgeable. Although he worked quickly. He did not seem rushed. he explained the problem well. The bad - fortunately, my air conditioning was still functional. However, if it had not been working, I feel a four day wait for Repair is excessive. I have had numerous claims over the past four years. In general the service has been prompt and for the most part the contractors have been professional and knowledgeable. Whenever there was an issue it was corrected in an acceptable manner. This is my second contract with Choice with 3 years left. I called and left phone number to be in the queue. It was suggested to go online for quicker service. I was able to speak to representative and submit claim. I had a technician out to my home the next day. He had to order part. He told me he would call me when part arrived. Technician called on Saturday and installed the heating element on dry. At almost 6:00 on a Friday night our garage door broke and would not fully close. Doorposh was assigned to us & we were given a repair date of the following Wednesday. We called them immediately as not being able to close our garage door made us extremely uncomfortable. Steve was very helpful and had us send pictures to see if he could walk us through closing the door. He realized that wasn’t possible and squeezed us into the schedule for the following morning. Choice Home Warranty is 50/50 satisfaction. If there is a small claim (ice machine broken) they send people quick (bit it never actually got repaired). If there is a major repair (A/C broke) they took 2 weeks; which in the middle of summer heat is unbearable. They have no sense of caring for the customer. Their customer service is non-existent (all AI). This makes it impossible to deal with claims. I called them, they force a call-back and disconnect, then don't call you back. Though the price is good, don't expect anything fast; don't expect customer service care; and make sure you ask lots of questions on coverage for the big stuff (HVAC/Fridge) before you sign up. It may not be worth much more than false peace of mind.

Dishwasher just quit working. Tried several Trouble Shooting Tasks before calling. First Time Claim. Service was quick and efficient. Had to wait a week before we could get someone to come out and repair it. But well worth the wait. The cause was poor connection in wiring. Travis was quick efficient and Polite. They scheduled a technician to assess our non working refrigerator on a timely basis. But they did not inform us by text or email of this. I have learned now that You must repeatedly check the status of your claim on their website for updates and appointments. That's how we learned who was coming and when. They schedule a time and date. I had to reach out to the tech and adjust his arrival time as I was scheduled for a medical procedure at the original time. Fortunately the tech was accommodating. They did report back to us on the claim our tech made to CHW on our behalf and our fridge will be repaired at some point.

Refrigerator guy did a lousy job, but plumber did excellent job. The plumber fixed the problem the refrigerator man should have fixed. After $150, numerous phone calls, and fridge leaking for a week, leak fixed. The frig guy should not be used by Choice again. Fridge guy wanted an additional $200 for two wooden shives to level fridge. Luckily, I did not fall for that ploy.

This is so bad when you pay so much money to a company to have great customer service that not a great job they do, I like Choice Home Warranty but they’re not great on the service like that.

My air conditioner was blowing nothing but hot air. The Sears will not be able to come out until the 25th and there is a extreme heat warning. My house is 85 degrees inside and I am a senior. Noise was coming from inside rear wall of refrigerator. Sergei, the technician, arrived, assessed the and ordered the part. When the part came in, a few days later he gave me a call to install. I had to clean out my refrigerator, unplug it, and leave it empty for 2 days. When my refrigerator was empty I called the warranty company back and Sergey returned to my home to repair the issue. Work was scheduled in a timely manner and work was completed within a week of first visit. Parts had to be ordered, no big deal, technician can' t carry everything they might need.
