    After several interactions I have discovered that their technicians are the least reputable in a given area. Some want payment up front then never show up and others refuse to communicate when an issue arises. The company (Choice) says read your policy, "We are not responsible for the conduct of the technicians we hire".

    We purchased a Choice Home Warranty when we purchased some ranch property with living quarters. We contacted Choice about a HVAC issue and after the repair person's inspection were told it wasn't covered because it was a pre-existing problem. They explained what they heard me say about the "last time the HVAC was working" and I explained that there was a misunderstanding (as the answer I gave was the last time the HVAC was INSPECTED, not last time it was working). They did the right thing and covered the claim fully. I was impressed and trust they'll live up to the high standards I expect and that they've exhibited to-date.

    It is so helpful to have an encyclopedia of qualified repairmen at my fingertips within 24 hours. All for just the price of the service call. It takes so much of the pressure to research good providers and obtain estimates for repairs, and instead, I can just focus on actually getting the repair completed faster. Do take note of the exclusions to the coverage – not everything is covered! The things that it does cover, though, do help decrease the overall cost of home repairs and are worth the investment in the warranty. I only wish that we had had it sooner as it would've saved us over $1000 in refrigerator repairs/replacement alone!

    I have been approached by a Choice Home Warranty (CHV) representative on July 28, 2014 to purchase a policy covering any repairs in my house for 3 years. Through his promises about the coverage I had been convinced to purchase the policy. On the same day I purchased the policy for $1050.00. (Policy # **). On Jan. 5, 2016 the front left side of my electric range sparked under the glass top in a way that I could clearly see it. It is important to mention that the same front left burner was repaired once by CHW serviceman 14 months ago. I called CHW immediately and filed a request for repair again (claim # **).

    Few days later a service man (not the same serviceman for the first time repair) showed up. He lifted the glass top and he showed me the problem and the reason for the spark that was a loose wire came from the left side operating knob to the left burner. He secured the wire on its position hoping there was no damage to the burner or any other part of the whole range. After lowering the glass top to it's position and turned the operating knob the burner didn't come on unfortunately. After some more testing he said the left side burner damaged and needs to be replaced. He called CHW and reported the parts he needs for the repair. He asked me to pay $45 to his company (Texas Technical Construction) according to the term of the policy with CHW. I gave him a check for the same amount and left.

    Now after many conversation with CHW in last week my position is that the only reason for the spark under the glass top is the fault of their own serviceman for the first repair because he did not tighten the wire. They are not paying any attention to my position. Their offering to me is to replace the range with a white color Kenmore model 93002. I accepted this offer, but because other appliances in my kitchen are stainless steel they must replace the range with stainless steel not a white color. They refused to do that. Although I have been very cooperative with them throughout the whole negotiation I don't understand why they are trying to force me to install a white color range in my kitchen of all stainless steel.

    I signed up with Choice Home Warranty today. I had Landmark Home Warranty which the sellers transferred to me when I bought the house last year. I decided to change and go with my own selection of a home warranty company. I spent almost all day online going through dozens of home warranty companies and was strongly leaning towards Old Republic Home warranty. I called them up and the customer service rep I talked to was not that helpful, rushed me and told me to get all the information I needed on the website... That is when I went to Choice Home Warranty website, I typed in my telephone # and clicked continue, while I was being directed to the next page, my phone rang and it was Choice Home Warranty!

    Voila, that was literally a second after typing in my phone number. Patrick is the name of the representative who called me. He was very professional, knowledgeable, very patient, he did not rush me at all, I even had to put him on hold looking for my credit card and he did not mind it at all (am sorry for that). He went through all the list of the stuff they cover, unlike the other company rep who told me to go back online. I had planned on signing up for a 1 year plan under their total plan and I ended up signing up for 3 years with 6 months free!!! Extraordinarily Awesome customer service.     So far I am very unhappy with Choice Home Warranty and do not want to use Choice as my warranty company. I contacted the company multiple times 2/9 and 2/10 trying to add on coverage a.k.a. give more money and was not assisted at all. Now that we closed 2/10 at 4 pm, it is too late. Furthermore I tired today over the phone just to be passed along with long wait holds. I cannot even imagine what it would be like trying to submit a claim. Please let me know the process I have to go through in order to cancel.

    I do not recommend this company. Before choosing them I wish I would have called and try to resolve certain things and get a better experience of their customer service. I will update this review if I do or do not hear from the representative. Also I would like to note that I called her 4xs and left a message to call back urgently as I needed to get the invoice before closing this was on 2/9 and 2/10. It is now 2/11 and I have yet to receive a phone call back. Furthermore, I informed other representatives of it and was passed around through the phone. No one helped me and I was trying to give them money. I cannot even imagine putting in a request for service.

    Contacted Choice about problem with the fan motor in my heat pump. I was running on emergency heat and we had an approaching snow storm. Choice contacted Epic Heating and Air and a repairman came out the next working day. He diagnosed the problem and sent a technician out the following day with a replacement fan motor.     Reported the refrigerator as faulty. Three days later the technician arrived and claimed he did not have the tools to perform the repair. Two days later I was called by Choice to say that the refrigerator would be replaced as the technician recommended this. Paid the money and was told that it would be replaced 3 to 5 days from then. (27 Jan) I am still waiting for this replacement refrigerator many calls later. The blame is always sent to the supplier who I am told is Home Depot. Not acceptable.

    The company you chose to come out to our home was first class. They were extremely educated on how everything works on our pool and equipment. There happened to be NO leak therefore we only owed our $45.00 service fee. But we liked Chris so much we ended up hiring him. Tuesday he started to take care of our pool on a weekly basis and this is what he found: He stated, "the filter element needs replaced. This needs to happen asap. I can either provide one for you between $89.99-$99.99. I will have to get a price from my supplier, or you can order it from Amazon and have it shipped to my house."

    The filter itself is in bad shape, the internally core is damaged, the air bleed off sock is missing and the lid has UV damage/cracks in it. Now that we have coverage, can you please let us know what our warranty will cover on these issues. Our feedback with having our home covered with you has been excellent. We now have a person who is extremely experienced in maintaining and educating the customer.

    My water heater stopped working. The pilot light would not stay lit. I submitted a claim and was assigned a technician. I had to call the technician myself to schedule an appointment. After scheduling a day and time, the technician came out and diagnosed the issue. He sent the information to Choice and they denied the claim, stating since the water heater was still under the manufacture's warranty, they would not be able to cover the claim. So, I had to call Whirlpool to get the part myself. So once I received the part, I contact Choice again for them to send someone out to put the part on, (mind you have been without HOT water) and was informed they would not cover that as well. WHAT AM I PAYING MONTHLY FOR? I am beyond annoyed at the whole process that I am taking my business elsewhere.

    My heating unit started making a horrible noise. As soon as I heard it I turned it off (with evenings in the 20s and 30s) and called in a claim. The repair company called the next day, but couldn't come out for almost 2 weeks so I went without heat. I emailed Choice in the claims area, asking for another company that could come out sooner as I had 2 kids who were cold, and I received no response.

    When the repair day came, I heard the Choice rep talking with the repair company and they haggled the company to charge less labor. They also wouldn't pay for the motor which was the most expensive part, citing it was a secondary issue to the blower breaking. I had to pay $345 which included my service call fee. I didn't cause the damages, and turned off my system as soon as I heard noises. Why should I be penalized for doing what was needed at the time?

    I had been a customer for over 4 years with barely any claims made. They should have paid. I had referred 3 people to do business with them but due to this, and a lack of response to my emails about this, those referrals won't be going through and I will also be ending my business with them. Do not get involved with this company.

    My heater was not working, filed a claim online on a Wednesday evening. No responses until I have to call 8 hours later, a representative is then assigned. I have to sign onto their website to see who "I" am supposed to contact. That's all great - he comes out, fixes my heater and leaves. It worked for one day... It is now the weekend. Funny thing - their contract is only good for M-F (9-5) malfunctions. But you are not aware of this until you get the contract. I go online to reply again...no heat. I do not get a response until I again have to call 7 hours later. "Sorry we don't send out for emergencies...i.e.: weekend fixes." The supervisor thought he did a great job answering my questions. Sorry but "Customer Service" is about more than just answering question... How about some actual SERVICE?! Not sure why I am paying all this $$ for this warranty service? Honestly I would be better off looking in the phone book for help... No warranty needed.

    About 2-years ago I requested someone to look at my Heat Pump because the AC service technician found that the heat exchanger had holes in it and was unsafe. I reported the claim.     I have had nothing but bad experiences with Choice at every turn. I filed a claim for a faulty HVAC compressor last week, which failed in the midst of DC's Snowzilla winter storm. Firstly, the initial service provider did not make contact with me or respond to my phone calls. After four days, Choice Home Warranty finally responded to my email concern, at which point they dispatched a new service provider. The new service provider did not return my phone call to set up an appointment time and neglected to answer the phone for days.

    When he finally made the assessment of the failed compressor, Choice insisted that the equipment was not covered by my comprehensive warranty because the unit had not been properly maintained. When I insisted that during my tenure in the property it had received two separate maintenance calls in five months, Choice requested receipts for those service calls. I provided records of those service calls, including one for a service call that happened the year prior to my property ownership. Upon reconsideration, Choice then refused an authorization for repair or replacement because the receipts did not include "model or serial number" on the invoices.

    I attempted to explain that there is only one HVAC at the property address listed on each of the service receipts, but the customer service rep started to speak over me on the phone and insisted that there is nothing he could do. When I asked to speak to the Choice legal department, he refused to make the transfer and told me that my case stops with him. My HVAC was in proper and working order on the effective date of the warranty contract. It experienced a degradation four months after that effective date and within the contract coverage dates. Choice did not comply with its obligation and I will now be pursuing legal action against the organization.

The service guy attempted to fix our washer but was unable to. He contacted Choice Home Warranty while he was at my house and said that it would cost more to fix than to replace.

    I signed up for a home warranty with Choice, thinking it would give me peace of mind if I had a problem with anything in my home. Calling sales is a quick and painless process, sales reps answer the phone almost immediately. A few months after I had gotten the warranty I noticed a steady small drip from my master bathroom sink. Remembering I had the warranty I tried to call and make a claim. After being on hold for quite awhile, and a message while on hold kept saying for faster service file the claim online, I hung up and did just that. I put that I had a drip from my faucet in my sink. They got back to me and sent a rep out to look at it.

    The person they sent was a joke in itself that I won't get into, but he literally looked at it 30 seconds, didn't take it apart, rattled off what it needed and left. I did not hear back from him, instead got a call from Choice saying they do not cover faucets and that I owed the guy that came out $45. Why could they not just tell me up front that they didn't cover faucets? That left a very poor taste in mouth but I stayed with them.

    This past weekend my washer started leaking water. Again I called Choice, they sent a technician out. The company they were sending to look at it is a dumpy looking building that sells refurbished appliances. They were an hour late coming to look at it. They took the bottom panel off and saw that the seal around the door had two holes in it, said they tear up quite frequently and would order the part, this was Monday, said the part would be in today, Wednesday.

    I called them a little while ago since I had not heard from them and was told Choice put the repair on hold and I had to call them. I called, and of course they do not cover that part, why am I not surprised? This company is a joke. They have a long list of terms, I would seriously read them over before you sign up with them. Looks to me like they take your money every month, then deny claims. Also my garage door spring tore up about a month ago, I started to call them but actually looked at the terms on that first, surprise again, they do not cover that. My advice put your money in the bank every month instead of giving it to these clowns, at least it will be there when you need it.

    I contacted Choice when my refrigerator stopped cooling. The operator was very helpful and had arranged the repair appointment with Mr. ** the following day. Mr. ** checked out the refrigerator, needed to order a part to repair. The part took 5 days to get in and after it was repaired, a few days later the refrigerator again stopped cooling. I called the operator at Choice again and they were helpful. They arranged for Mr. ** to come out again, he arrived two days later and after examining the refrigerator he diagnosed the compressor could not be fixed.

    Recent claim on dishwasher - I got through in a reasonable amount of time to a representative and was able to have a tech come out. He diagnosed the problem quickly and I had an answer from you in a timely manner. I would like to know what your criteria is for determining the final cost and also does that include installation of the new machine? Thanks.
