I am a Member since 2013 and this is the first time I called for help. It was fixed the next day and all I had to pay was $45.00 for the Service call. I am sorry not to have called on you last year when I needed Freon and paid over $300.00. I was told by a friend that would be a waste to try. I know better now.

I called a request because the garage door wouldn't open. The service company squeezed us in first thing in the morning to diagnose the problem. They had to come back the next day but it all went very smoothly. They were very prompt and had excellent communication with us. I was very pleased with the experience and would recommend them in a heartbeat.

Have a home warranty and dishwasher wasn't getting hot. They sent out a tech who got the 45 dollar deductible and told us they won't pay and we should get American Home Warranty because they don't pay and they lie. Well he was right. They called three days later and told me the element got warm and the tech thought it was pre-existing.
I called the tech and he told me they lie about everything and said "Yeah you told me" but if I wanted he could fix for 161.00 on his own. I told him they said he told them it was pre-existing and he said "Nope they lie I told you." I said "You told me but you also said it was too much work for what they pay you and I felt that I had been cheated by both of you." In process of contacting Better Business Bureau. I called another all poach repair company and they told me "If it gets warm it could be thermostat. Did he test that?" I said "Nope." They also told me the part was actually 19.00 and service call but it could also be thermostat. "You need to check voltage." Buyer beware.

The microwave stopped working. The technician diagnosed the problem and said it need to be replaced. Choice warranty offered me money to get it replaced. Even though it would cost me more that what they offered to get it replaced, I am satisfied with the money they offered which is about half of total cost.

The person that took my initial call was very professional and pleasant. It was not even 2 hours before we heard from the technician. He was out with 3 hours of our call. Got us going until a part came in. Was out Monday afternoon to replace circuit board. Sterling Services was AWESOME. We would like to have them come out every time!!! Choice Home Warranty are by far the best warranty company I have dealt with. As a property manager, I have to contact different warranty companies for my clients. The service I encounter is appalling! I always suggest that my clients change to Choice, and one or two have done so. The vendors they use are professional and courteous. Choice cares about their clients, and I have been impressed with their speed and concern. To sum up: CHOICE is my only choice.

I've had my warranty for a while and thankfully not had to use it too much. When I purchased this warranty I was pretty skeptical but went ahead anyway based on the reviews. My dryer broke one day, just stopped working. So I went online and put in a work order for it to be fixed and they called back and had servicemen out really quickly and my dryer was fixed in days. I'm a nurse. My husband works out every day and we have a 6-year-old in sports and a 7-month-old. That is a lot of laundry. I'm so grateful I did get this home warranty!!!

I bought a warranty from Choice and had to file a claim 11 days after it went into effect and they tell me that my claim is not valid because my ac compressor couldn't have went out like this - it has to have went out in time but it was working the day and that night it was not working. This is a rip off company. Be very careful of CHOICE HOME WARRANTY as they don't stand behind their advertisement.

I had problems with my air conditioning unit. I called Choice Home and a service person come out the next day and found the problem. He had me call to inform Choice Home of what he found; when I called I talked to a person who was very nice and who went out of her way to assist me. I was very satisfied when the call was over. I plan to have the service person out tomorrow (4-25-16) to fix the unit. I am very pleased with how fast you responded to my problem. I am happy I chose your company to service my home.

I have had the service for 5 months. I have filed a claim for my washing machine which they covered and everything couldn't have been better. Since then, I filed a claim for my dishwasher which they did not cover. I have also filed claims on my kitchen faucet sprayer which they did not cover and another on a dripping shower head which they have as a selection to claim on their website but did not cover. Look at the exclusions in the contract very carefully. They exclude many common repairs that most people would think are covered under the headings of items covered.

Plumber began checking equipment right away. He showed and told me exactly what needed to be done, how much it cost and how he would fix it. He was able to check out warranty numbers and contact the company where the original part came from. When I told him I needed him to do the work at a certain time of day he was very cooperative about making an appointment to do the work. I would recommend his company to others.

I placed a call regarding my microwave that the inside glass turntable was not turning. The person who took my call was extremely professional and polite. Within 24 hours I received a call from the company representative that was dispatched to take my call. We scheduled the appointment, again he was very nice to deal with. He called on the day of the appointment that he had been held up on another job and was running a bit late, which I appreciated greatly. He showed up, did the repair, handled himself very professionally and completed the job. A very positive experience in my opinion.

Submitted claim for air conditioning repair. Claim was denied - but for valid reasons. While not happy with outcome the contract is what it is. The customer service agent I spoke with took the time to clearly explain everything in detail which will help down the road with future claims should we have any more. I am rating this experience a 4 out of 5 purely because of the customer service agent who went above and beyond. Would have been 5 out of 5 but it was not. Also, they have not denied any other claims yet. So, long story short the money invested in this warranty to date has been well worth it.

We needed help fixing a broken water valve and Choice Home Warranty was able to get an excellent plumber, Tim, to fix it within a few hours. Tim did an amazing job with the repair, the valve works great now. In the past, plumbers would usually schedule for the next day, but I told Choice that our problem required that I shut-off our main water, so it appears they looked to find a plumber that could come immediately to fix it. Thank you for the great service!

I purchased an option for coverage on my pool and did it ever come in handy this week. My pump was locked up and when I called they were great. They had a pool co call me within 2 hrs and showed up as scheduled and replaced the pump. This warranty co is great. Thanks.

IF YOU EVER NEED HOME INSURANCE FOR YOUR APPLIANCES ETC. BE SURE TO AVOID CHOICE HOME WARRANTY. They do not pay their vendors and a part that the vendor may have will not be used and you will need to wait on Choice to supply the part and that just had taken me 3 weeks to get two parts. The same vendors have also informed me that now with summer coming they are not honoring air conditioning breakdowns.

Excellent service. Local rep Benjamin called me at the scheduled time when he suppose to be there. He fixed the problem and even made a call to get approval to unclogged the sink to make sure disposal properly.

Water heater broke on Monday 5pm. Water drain spot broke while being drained. Heater is from 1994 so the drain was just rusty and broke off. They couldn't get someone out till Wednesday (paid $45). They didn't do anything. They just assessed the situation. Choice then denied my claim to replace the unit. They don't cover rust they said. Even though it was just normal wear and tear rust. Even though I maintained the boiler every year. After a few threats they offered me $300. Which doesn't even cover half of what I spent to replace and hire someone to install new heater. They are scammers and the BBB show all their complaints.

Dryer motor stopped working. Could not set timer or get any heat. Called Choice for first time on anything. I was a little leery of the type of service I would get, but they responded within hours to set up a call from service tech. They were here to fix dryer the next morning.

We experienced a water line break on a Sunday - Called Choice, no one available to approve claim. Surprisingly, in the event of an emergency when no claims specialists are available, one can contact plumber on their own, submit billing to Choice and be reimbursed. Fantastic. Thank you.

Guest toilet leak. Choice Home Warranty was very prompt assigning my claim to a plumber. Unfortunately that plumber was not prompt in coming. Choice continued to call me for updates. They let me choose my own plumber and get reimbursed which I really appreciate. They continued to call until the problem was fixed.

Choice came through for me when I needed them. They sent a contracted repair service out quickly as promised and fixed the issue. It was great to know that my problem would be resolved and I didn't need to shop around for prices or question the quality of service I was getting. I feel confident that if something goes wrong, Choice will handle it for me. Customer service was great, even calling to make sure my service appointment was scheduled. I appreciate that there was no hassle or extensive waiting to set up the appointment.

I purchased their total protection package back in November 2015. Four months later put in a claim for our heat pump. They sent out a tech 3 days later, he determined that an electrical spike blow out the compressor and the unit leaked out the freon. We needed a new unit. "Choice Home Warranty" refused to replace our unit as their advertising claim they would. I spoke with supervisors and they said they would not replace due to "neglect". Their own tech stated that it was an electrical spike but they refused to honor their warranty. After several days of haggling they issued a partial refund. Terrible experience. I guess if the repairs are small they will fix but they will not replace appliances as they advertise. Beware they also strong arm you into buying several years of service mowing, they do not deliver on their promise.

This gentleman called promptly and arrived on time. In 10 minutes, he had diagnosed the problem with our clothes dryer. 20 minutes later, the repair was complete. This was my first call to Choice Home Warranty. I was very pleased with the professionalism and the quick response to my issue. I would not hesitate to recommend them to friends.

After 3 unsuccessful attempts from repairmen assigned, I was able to convince a Choice Manager to apply the approved repair amount to be sent to me instead. I then applied it to a new purchase and was happy to see it end this way rather than another temporary fix. It took effort on my part but again I was happy with the result.

Keep the $450 and all of your service call fees and pay to have it fixed by a professional. I've taken over a week off of work, the technicians don't answer their phones or voicemails and don't fix the problem when they come out. That has happened with both my water heater and with my oven. I still don't have an oven.

Three hours later company called to schedule my appointment, he show up on sat at the time he stated. The guy was friendly and professional. Great experience. You guys never let me down. The service company was great in responding. They did a good job checking the unit. Their response was that they think there was a leak. The repairman called to his company to have them allow him to add freon to the system, which they approved. The repairman then told us that he thinks the filter valve outside maybe leaking? Did check it with leak tester, then said it wasn't covered because it's not mechanical? This is part of the system and it's mechanical. I checked with another ac tech who has 30 years in the business. I have your company in 6 of my houses in FL. I would like the ac company to return and check the unit with a leak tester and find where the leak is so the whole unit don't go down and I'm calling you back. If he thought the valve outside was bad, check it and replace it with a new one. Thank you. I look forward to getting this problem solved.

A little more than a year ago I switched to Choice Home Warranty to cover warranty for my home in Plano, TX. As per their offer, I paid for 5 years warranty in advance. Until last week I used them only once for a very small issue. This week I reported lack of cooling and they sent someone to check. There was no Freon in the air conditioning (AC) unit, so they asked me to do Leak check at my cost, as they did not cover this. I got it done from their technician and paid for it. The findings were that evaporation coil is leaking and needs to be replaced. Now they are telling me they won't cover this.
When I purchased the warranty, I was told that all air condition issues were fully covered. They are making all kinds of excuses like show them AC maintenance records, etc. These things were never told to me when I paid for 5-year warranty with coverage for "Total Plan" which is more expensive than their "Basic plan". I've spent a lot of time with them over phone and in person with the technician they sent and they are not willing to cover the replacement cost of the evaporation coil.

I have a really old washer/dryer stacker, and it is giving me trouble. The electrician that came to look at it was capable but couldn't fix one problem because of an uncovered problem. I was willing to give up, but CHW would not let me. They stepped in and helped me get back the use of my washer/dryer and I am ever so grateful. I recommend CHW to everyone I can!!!

The service Choice provided was excellent. The representatives were very courteous and responded promptly each time I called. However, the first contractor (Cagle) were very unreliable. They came out, got their service fee, gave a diagnosis, but only made excuses when it came time to come back and complete the job. They never came back and Choice sent out a second contractor who did an excellent job. Also, I faxed in the purchase receipt for the ceiling but have not received reimbursement.

When my furnace broke down, I left a message for my HVAC contractor. Then, remembering the Choice Warranty promising repair for $60 instead of $400-500, I canceled the request and called Choice. The authorized service provider collected the $60 but performed no repairs, leaving me without heat in the dead of winter. Four days later he returned, fixed the furnace and demanded $1256 on the spot (I later confirmed the legitimate charge from professional HVAC would have been $450 or less). After 2 months of back and forth with no resolution, I have spent another $250 to initiate mediation through the American Arbitration Association. Verify Choice case **. For sake of your family's budget protection and peace of mind, choose wisely, not Choice.

On March 24th, I called to order repair service on my dishwasher that would not drain. A tech came out the next day, took the model number of the unit, and said he'd order it today. It should arrive by 2 on Monday, and they'd install it Tuesday. Monday afternoon I called to see what time they would be coming Tuesday, and only got voicemail. Tuesday, after no response, I called again, only to get voicemail. No returned calls, or service calls Tuesday. I call again Wednesday, only to get voice mail again. I then called Choice H.W. to find out what going on. They called the repair company and said the company didn't want to do the job, and I was assigned another company.
At the end of the day, the newly assigned tech comes to the door at the same time the first company (American Door & Appliance) called and said there was a misunderstanding, they had the part and would install it Thursday. I said o.k. I called Choice and told them to cancel the newly assigned company (First Class HVAC & Appliance) because American Door and Appliance had the part and were coming the next day to repair. Thursday, no show, no call! Late Thursday I call and they said they would not be able to get at it today, what time tomorrow is good? I said 10:00, they said "great, see you then." Well, Friday NO show, NO call again. That's 3 days of no show, no call!
At the end of day Friday, I called Choice to get First Class HVAC and Appliance back on track to order the part and install. They claim to have ordered it Monday the 4th from North Carolina. I called them later in the week, and they said when they get the part, they'll call me. After 10 days of waiting for a part from North Carolina (I live in Columbia SC, where an appliance parts company had 7 in stock), I asked Choice to allow me to hire someone here that would get the part locally and get the job done (after 3 weeks). They agreed, I called Advance Appliance Repair in Columbia, and 3 hours later they were here fixing it (for less than Choice was going to pay the First Class "Losers" HVAC & Appliance company).
What Choice failed to tell me was that I would have to wait 30 days for the money I came out of pocket for, because their incompetent subcontractors failed to perform. I called and asked if there was any way they could expedite the costs I incurred, because if I afford to pay for repairs out of pocket, I wouldn't be buying a home warranty. They said NO!
Choice Home Warranty's arrogant, incompetent, inconsiderate subcontractors made my life miserable for 3 weeks, and their unwillingness to reimburse my expenses in a timely manner have convinced me they don't care about their clients, only the monthly or annual payments they receive from them. As a realtor who has sold their warranties to clients, I apologize to those clients, and suggest you shop for another company, as I certainly will.

Choice was very quick in having someone come out and look at my air after my service company that does the spring maintenance said that the condenser and fan motor needed to be replaced. The company that Choice sent out said that the condenser was fine and I and he also noticed the fan motor was leaking oil. I had to basically tell him that they needed to be replaced, he finally just did the fan. He claims condenser is fine. So I am hoping that is the case. We will see this summer.

Had an issue with my A/C not coming on - fortunately, it's early spring so didn't really need it yet. I did a service request online, and the service rep contacted me the next day. Scheduled an appointment, and the tech was able to diagnose that the issue was the controller board for my A/C. He had to order the part, which caused a 2 day delay, but showed up on time for the repair, and had the system fixed in less than an hour. Fast, and reliable just like I like it. My only real problem with the service is that I constantly get emails to sign up even though I already have the service.

My warranty had only been in place for 2 weeks when the oven started acting up. I called it in and they sent out technicians to diagnose the problem. They determined I needed a new control board and a new temperate sensor. A couple days later I received an offer of cash so I could replace the oven. I told them I really did not want to replace the oven; I want to repair the oven. They then revised the offer and have ordered the required parts to repair the oven.

The service was very prompt for my A/C issue. The vendor that CHW assigned to my case called me about an hour after my claim was submitted to schedule an appointment. They answered all of my questions regarding their qualification, bonding, AAA rating and background checks for their service techs to my satisfaction. The service tech that came to my home was very courteous and professional. He resolved my issue within 1 hour after arriving and explained to me what the problem was to my satisfaction and made recommendations on maintenance as well.

The coverage we have with Choice Home Warranty has provided a huge peace of mind in our household! Choice Home Warranty serviced my water heater and clothes dryer. The staff was polite, efficient, quick, tolerant and honest. The company did not try to evade their responsibility or find ways to diminish services to save a few dollars. The service worker was quick to respond and very competent in finding the most efficient way to make my problem go away. I observed no attempt to cut corners or overcharge Choice Home Warranty for unneeded services to make more money for this company. I am highly please with the service I obtained from Choice Home Warranty.

I had a stuffed up toilet and a sink that was not draining and a showerhead in the tub that was not working. Your representative called me back within 1/2 hour with the company that was assigned to repair my plumbing problem. The company came the very next day and made the needed repairs. I was provided with instant information, both electronically and via phone message, about the company my repair was being assigned to. I called them up and was able to get hold of them right away. They scheduled my repair for the next day. The repairman arrived promptly, phoned he was on his way, was pleasant, informative, and knowledgeable. He was prepared to fix problems and did, in fact repair my problem, which were "fried" wires in the plug evidently (lucky I didn't have a fire), provided me with answers to other problems I was experiencing regarding the cleanliness of my dishes (my water wasn't hot enough, as I have it on a timer, which was shut off at the time I washed dishes!), and ordered me a new soap dispenser when he saw there was difficulty with it remaining closed. He was professional and friendly. Impressed and pleased with the service, the repairman, and the company.

I have a heat pump and it wasn't producing heat. The technician had to add 410A to get it to work. Obviously there is a small leak in the system and the tech was suppose to let me know if he could proceed to determine where it was and fix it. Still no word...

Having been denied on two claims and had bad experiences with the service technician both times I felt compelled to write a review to save others the headache and expense I endured. In each instance I had a major mechanical component that I believed to be covered that failed. Each time I submitted a claim online and was quickly contacted by a contractor to make an appointment. Both times the contractor failed to show up at the scheduled time and I had to call to re-schedule. In one instance the contractor declined the work because it was too far for them to drive. In the other instance the contractor simply didn't know how to work on the equipment.
I had my own contractor assess the issue on both and when they called in for the reimbursement they were told that the claim was not covered by the policy. The exclusions are very broad in the policy so there is very little that won't be denied. Probably better to invest the cost of the warranty and save the aggravation of getting your claim denied.

We purchased our first contract with Choice Home Warranty in August 2015. In April 2016, we submitted our first repair request for our garage door opener. When I called, I told the customer service rep that we were fairly certain the problem was with the opener and not with the track etc. She very nicely explained to me that from my description she agreed the problem was probably the opener. She took down the information she needed to process the claim. She explained that we would receive an automated phone message and an email with the name and phone number of the company assigned to the claim. She explained that the company would call us, but if not, we should call them, and she gave me the claim number. She was very helpful and courteous and answered all my questions.
We promptly received the automated message and email. The company representative called within a few minutes. He was very helpful and courteous, and an appointment was made for a technician to come the very next day. When the technician came, he was very knowledgeable, explained the process, and when a replacement was approved, he installed the new garage door opener in a timely manner. Our overall experience with this process was excellent, and we thank everyone involved!

I called to report a problem with my garbage disposal and within 24/48 I was contacted by a company which came out the same day. The first company told me I needed another one and they would contact me back. I didn't hear from them in a week and I called Choice back. They contacted the company and Choice sent out another company who did the inspection and installation in one day. I would not recommend these unprofessional people to anyone. Made claim for a water heater. Not covered. When I inquired I treated rudely by Lakeshia and Regina. Kept referring to a copy of the contract that they never sent. Per Regina she is the highest you can go in the company - she is just a customer service manager. When calling to make a complaint keep getting put into 15-20 minute hold queues. When you call back and ask for executive offices: "They don't speak to customers", when I complain about the wait I am told rudely that "We serve millions of people - you're just going to have to wait".

Was told my claim was denied for the simple reason the policy didn't cover the glass cook top of the appliance. I asked if Choice could purchase to class (utilizing its buying power) and I would pay for the part. I was told they couldn't do that, but they would be willing to provide $180 toward a new appliance if I were willing to purchase a new one. Truly wasn't expecting that, but that's exactly what I did accepting the offer. I ended up paying a total of $153 more buying a new one versus replacing the glass cook top only and receiving a 1 year warranty with the purchase. Totally worthwhile in my opinion!

I submitted a claim with Choice on March 21st 2016 for my upstairs A/C unit. The unit was not cooling. The technician arrived on the 24th to look at my A/C. He was very courteous and thorough when diagnosing my A/C unit. He determined that the unit was low on freon and that he would need to do a leak check to determine the location of the leak. He explained that this was NOT covered by the home warranty company and would cost an additional $225 on top of the $45 service fee.
The technician completed the leak detection and found that the evaporator coil did in fact have a leak and would need to be replaced. The technician explained the various reasons for the a leak to occur but stated explicitly that the reason for this leak was "normal wear and tear" on the system. He explained the coils in both the condenser unit and in the evaporator coil were clean, filters had been maintained correctly. He took pictures of the coil and leak location to send to the warranty company. He then asked that I stay with him while he called in the claim to Choice. When I asked why I needed to he stated that he wanted me there to hear what he communicated to the warranty company as the reason for the failure because there was a good chance they would claim that the system was improperly maintained, which was NOT the case.
He called Choice on the claim and provided the findings and stated twice that the reason for the failure was "NORMAL Wear and Tear". He then uploaded three pictures to Choice's technicians showing the unit and the state of the coil. I paid the technician $270 for the call, $225 for leak detection and $45 for the service call rate agreed to with Choice. I received a call at noon on the 24th from Choice home warranty claim representative. They stated that the claim was NOT covered because the fault was due to improper maintenance. I asked how this was determined and explained what the technician had communicated to the representative when he called in his diagnosis. I was told that the pictures were reviewed by one of Choice's technicians and that they could see that the coils were clogged.
I was shocked because this was the exact opposite of what the technician had told me and what he had communicated when he called in the claim. I even had the images that were submitted and could not see any indication of clogging. When pressed further I was told that this was the decision and that it was final. There was no route to appeal. I called the contractor that Choice sent out and they did not agree with the diagnosis. There was no indication of improper maintenance. They submitted two additional photos that were direct close-up shots of the coils that clearly showed a coil that was clean. I followed up on these additional photos and was told that it did not matter, the decision was made.
This is the craziest and most frustrating experience because the technician and owner of the company that Choice sent could not understand how they came to this decision. It made no sense and the documentation provided does not support their decision. When asked to speak with the person or team that reviewed the claim and made the determination I was told that they were not allowed to speak to customers to explain the reasoning and how the determination was made. When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was transferred and was told exactly the same thing. There is no escalation process or willingness to address the customer's concerns.

I bought the Home Warranty plan to cover everything. I was buying a new home and wanted security and to make sure what I couldn't see could be repaired. What they provide after you enroll/pay is a list of exclusions and things not covered by the plan. I had a hot water heater go out in the attic, submitted a claim, paid the service charge and the technician tells me there is water scale build-up, the company said it's not covered. I looked at the exclusion list for AC repairs and guess what's not covered, the Freon to keep it going, electrical parts, etc. I paid for the service for 1 year in advance. I should have just kept the money and bought a new hot water heater. Also wish this site had a 0.5 rating to choose from.

I took out a contract in September 2015. HVAC needed servicing. Call and set up a claim. Certified technician came out and diagnosed the problem as a bad compressor and due to the age of the unit recommended replacement of the HVAC system. Nothing happened to cause this problem except the age of the unit. The claim is being denied. They are not honoring the agreement.

Before purchasing a home warranty, I did extensive online reviews and was quite impressed with the reviews I read for Choice Home Warranty. I purchased in July 2015 and only recently made a claim for a ceiling fan which had quit working. The service technician was prompt, and courteous. Told me I needed a new fan, took my service fee. Two days later he returned one day earlier than he had told me, and at 7:30pm without calling first. Stayed till 9 pm and said he would have to take fan home to assemble and would be back. This was the first week of February. He has not returned to this day. (March 31).
Calls to Choice said they were unable to get him to respond to them and would send a refund check for the technician service and what they had reimbursed him for a new ceiling fan. Have not gotten a refund check. Several weeks later, my pool pump quit working and they responded and said they had assigned the claim to On Call Appliances, the very same company who never completed the first claim. Do not waste your time or money on this company unless you want aggravation and incompetence.

My refrigerator stopped working. I called choice home with the claim. A man arrived not with any company and no business card driving his private vehicle. He said the fan wasn't working and fixed it, no parts or new fan. He also said the compressor was out and needed to be replaced. Choice called to inform me the compressor was not covered due to secondary damage which IS NOT COVERED. How do they know the fan caused the compressor, MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE, failed secondarily. One garage door opener just stopped moving, so I was so pleased when I looked up and saw that garage doors were covered under my policy! I called and the next day a workman called and was out to my house. He had to get permission to order the parts he needed, so he said that he would call back. 2 weeks later, he had not called so I called back Choice. They were extremely apologetic and called in another workman, Alabama Fresh Air company. They called, came out, and checked on both door openers within 1 day! Both doors had to be replaced and were within the week.
I have more praise for companies who handle problems well which this one did. They had a worker "no show" which they couldn't help but found me another person who handled the claim quickly and efficiently. As an almost retiree, I recommend Choice Home Warranty to help. Not have any major financial surprises as well as they treat their customers well and will make good on their work!

Sawyer Electric came out to check our power switch. They actually had appointments scheduled two weeks out, but made time at 7am to swing by to check it for us. I really appreciated that and let them know. They were professional and personable and I would like to have them come look at a couple other items of concern.

The AC unit wouldn't come on at my rental property. Ace Comfort, LLC was assigned to my claim. I spoke to a representative from CHW. She told me my unit wouldn't be replaced because Mr. Ayala reported my unit was beyond repair and no maintenance had been done. Later, I got a call from Mr. Ayala wanting to sell me a new unit for $3500! Something seemed strange so I called another company for a 2nd opinion. Not only were they able to fix the unit, it only cost $175! Needless to say I am not pleased with this lack of professional treatment and outright lies. I will be calling to speak with a manager and want to be reimbursed the $175 I spent.

Kitchen sink drain clogged - I called my service order in during the early evening. Later that night, I received a call telling me a service company was notified and to call them. I called that night and received a return call early the next morning. A plumber arrived before noon that day and cleared my drain within minutes. The plumber was very friendly. I was quite pleased.

Had issue with spare bathroom plumbing in which it leaked water to the point that the city alerted me of the issue during their monthly audit service. Contacted CHW and within a couple days the entire issue was resolved. The plumber was professional, courteous and diagnosed the problem immediately.

Finally was able to resolve an ongoing problem after speaking with Jose. He listened and took steps to correct the problems that I was having with Choice. You almost lost me as a customer but he fixed the problems and said he would look into and try to correct the issues that I experienced.

I called on a week end, and honestly expected an answering service. Much to my surprise, a customer service agent not only answered, but scheduled the repair through a local service provider. Within 24 hours the service provider contacted us and within 48 hours the non emergency issue was repaired (replaced). The service provided was second to none. I highly and often recommend Choice Warranty service to my friends and family.

Purchased a warranty about a year ago and paid my premiums. All during this time, my hot water heater goes out. Call, tell what happen and sent a plumber. Pay $60 out of pocket. Wait and wait and only after I called them do they say we don't cover the inside tank. Why purchase from this company? 0 out 5 stars. Looking for a new company.

I opened two claims with Choice Home Warranty. First one was for Gas Cooktop. Front burners were not self igniting. Choice Home Warranty refused to cover any repair because the screws had rusted so could not be opened. Choice Home Warranty said cooktop was not maintained. If the screws are not opened for 10 years then they will be rusted and difficult to open. Second claim was for A/C. Freon level was low because there was a leak in the coil. Choice Home Warranty said they will not cover it. When I asked what do they cover, service representative said they cover mechanical wear and tear. If leakage in coil is not due to wear and tear then what is it? Basically, Choice Home Warranty does not want to spend a dime on any repairs. This company just want to get the money but does not want to spend any.

Sears wasn't able to make the repair on the first trip because the tech didn't have a replacement motor in his van. He wasn't able to make it back that afternoon, as agreed, due to another service call. I scheduled the first available appointment which was a week out. The tech came out the second time and repaired the dryer. I used the dryer for the first time after the repair, and I noticed a loud noise. I called in for a recall, the tech came out a third time and fixed the loose screw that was attached to the motor mount. As of now, the dryer works fine without any noise. I am unhappy about the delay and extended time involved for the repair, but overall I am satisfied. The dryer is fixed...

Since I purchased my warranty last year I have used it twice. Both times I received prompt, courteous service from CHW and their service providers. All services were covered, the technicians seemed to know what they were doing and I will most probably renew when my warranty expires in a couple of months.

Terrible, bad, dishonest! Only words that describe this company. I have audio of my original contract with Choice, yet they have failed to cover any and all failures I have had within my household. Only 1 (one) issue for almost a year, my A\C has been having problems for a year, with 4 (four) services conducted during this time frame Choice states my system hasn't been serviced. Every call I placed with them was refused, until I threatened to cancel them. They finally took me serious and said "bye". Bad service, bad contract!!! Don't do it. Paid $1750 cash for a 5 year contract, only getting back $380 after 6 months. This is a rip-off company. Don't do business with them!!! Call me if you want specifics. **.

During my recent home purchase, my realtor provided me with some options for buying a home warranty. I did some research and after reading such great reviews, I decided to go with Choice Home Warranty, which was NOT one that my Realtor recommended. After a couple weeks into my newly purchased 35 year old home, the breaker to my dryer went out. Now's when that home warranty for your "peace of mind" is supposed to come in. The claim process was easy enough, they dispatched an electrician promptly and even allowed me to add another item to my claim after I had originally filed it... Something I remembered as an afterthought.
The electrician came shortly to service my home and they deemed the breaker switch to the dryer was bad and needed to be replaced. CHW wasted no time in denying my claim within an hour of the electrician arriving at the house, they already had their denial ready. They did approve my claim for my "afterthought," a light switch that was working, just not properly as a dimmer. When I called for explanation of the claim denial, they said it was because they do not cover anything outside of the home. The policy stated coverage applies to systems "located inside the confines of the main foundation of the home." The breaker switched is attached to the house, the house is on a slab foundation, so I was at a loss as to why that would not be covered. I spoke to three different claims people, all of which read their scripted lines denying my claim.
I ended up cancelling the policy, not so much for the denial of the claim, but of the terrible customer service I received. I was told over and over that "it was clearly stated in the policy," and that it was "printed clearly in black and white." I disagreed, saying that the "within the confines of the main foundation of the home" does not necessarily equate to the interior only. The third person I talked to, to cancel the service even tried to get me to keep the policy because it would be in my best interest. HA! I have had it with this company. Please Please Please think twice about making CHW your choice for a home warranty provider.

Heating element in the electric oven burned out. The repairman was here about 36 hrs later, took the info and returned 2 days later with the part. No problems, quick and efficient.

On March 21, 2016 I called and spoked to a customer representatives and explained my clothes dryer stop working. The representative gave me a claim number and stated, "You will receive a call with a technician telephone number for you to call and make an appointment." I received the call within minutes with the number. I called the number and the technician came on March 22, 2016. The parts are ordered.
