When my AC unit stopped working, I called Choice Warranty. They partnered me with Reeds AC repair. They came to my house on short notice and fixed the AC. They had all parts in stock and repairs were made. Thanks for great service!

I was extremely happy with Home Choice but the dispatch of the technician was horrible. I called him 4 times to be told he would get a hold of the tech and call me back... NEVER did he called me back. 1st time user and I have concerns.

I've been with Choice Home Warranty for a year and even recommended it to my aunt who signed up as well. Never needed a repair until my aunt needed a repair. My aunt is an old lady so when Choice Warranty gave her a run around she wanted to cancel. Getting someone to cancel the service took several calls with no resolution insight. Of course, my aunt called me and I spend an hour before I was able to cancel it with my aunt in the conference call.
I stick around a bit and did not cancel mine until a needed a repair on my pool heater last May 27th. I called Choice Warranty and got a service technician assign to the case. I called several times until I finally got the technician but he told me he no longer works for Choice Warranty and warned me about them. Hmmm... I said that was odd. So I called Choice Warranty and got me a second technician and after calling about 3 times I was able to set an appointment, that guy came in and able to diagnosed that my issue is just probably an igniter and said we will order the parts. Fine and dandy.
After a week I called the technician and he informed me that the parts received are incorrect so he orders it back. After another week, I called in and he said is that he got the part and set up an appointment to install. Cool I took a day off but no technician came by. I called Choice Warranty and said it has set up another appointment on Wednesday this week. Got a day off again but no one shows up. I left 5 messages to the technician and still have not contacted me. I got fed up and lost 2 days of worked on this so I cancel it. I should have paid attention to the warning signs.

My HVAC has not been working and I live in Arizona desert. I have a family with a small baby and was left with no help even when temperature reached 120 degrees. Choice Home Warranty is a FRAUD. DON'T Buy Home coverage from them. When it comes to important items like HVAC/water heater they will leave you in the dark with no help. Just try calling Choice Home Warranty and ask for a quote for home warranty. Below things will happen:
You will be able to reach someone within a minute or two. A Follow up will happen over email and phone till you buy. As a matter of fact, I am still getting marketing emails from them to buy warranty even after already buying from them. But when you try calling them to raise a claim that is when their whole cheating tactics begins. An initial claim can be raised easily through online or through phone. But when there is a real problem like HVAC or water heater not working they will back away from helping you. You would have to wait for at least 40 minutes at a time to talk to a customer service representative. Don't believe me? Call them @ 800 233 0172 to reach them directly or @888-531-5403 and choose the option for customer representative.
I tried to reach them 10 times in the last 5 days and every time I was put on hold for at least 40 minutes before I could talk to a person. They don't work outside of 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM EST. Think about it, you have to spend 4 hours just to call them and get updates during your work time as well because they don't work outside of that time. They might tell you that they will call you back but that would never happen.
MY story: My time to do yearly AC maintenance came up in May/June 2016. I requested help to do yearly maintenance as per manufacturer suggestion through Choice Home Warranty. They told me that Choice Home Warranty neither provides suggestions on how to do AC Maintenance nor provides service through preferred vendor to do that. They asked me to go through some other licensed vendor to do the yearly maintenance.
I found a licensed HVAC maintenance company through HomeAdvisor.com and booked an appointment. I did my complete AC maintenance on 6.8.2016. The only issue raised by the AC maintenance expert (got through Home Advisor) was to replace the capacitor of the condenser unit. Which I did by paying that maintenance guy itself. Everything else was good. He did Drain line clean, coil clean, outdoor coil clean, Freon level check to meet manufacturer specs, Freon quality check as per manufacturer spec, Amp and temp reading on all electrical components as per manufacturer spec. After changing the capacitor he mentioned that everything was perfect.
Unfortunately, the unit died after 3 weeks. I called Choice and requested for help. They sent a service person to check on the AC. The service person who checked it was not providing any info. HE was only asking me to pay the service fee and left. I requested for more info and he mentioned that he is going to recommend to change the AC Unit. If Choice does not cover he can give a quote to fix the existing unit. See the type of contractor's Choice has relationship with. Trying to drain as much money as possible.
Based on his suggestion Choice should have replaced the HVAC unit. Instead, they did not even respond back to my claim for 3 days. I called them and was put on hold for 45 minutes after which a person picks up my call and says "You are not covered because you did not do AC maintenance". I clearly explained him about my yearly maintenance records and sent him a letter explaining that with the receipt.
Even after that they came back saying the receipt is not good enough. This is the catchy point. Think about it. Choice Home Warranty does not provide any suggestion on what all should be done for maintenance, They won't provide help through their servicing to do the maintenance, there is no template for the maintenance person who we choose to be filled up so that we can comply with Choice Home warranties' requirements. What ever info we give during problem scenario's they will just tell you that the AC was not maintained properly. I tried to talk to their manager multiple times. No one was ready to talk to me. I told them over the call itself that they are a CHEAT and FRAUD.
I am going to print a pamphlet about their cheating and going to distribute to all my neighbors so that they don't end up like me in crisis situations. BEWARE, look for some other company that covers AC Maintenance. Choice home warranty is a CHEAT, FRAUD and USELESS Home warranty company I have seen so far.

Satisfied so far. Service is competitively priced & coverage is comprehensive. Network of providers is very good & providers have been super-responsive so far. Because of the complexity of my issue (wasn't clear if it was an HVAC or Electrical issue), it took a while to sort out the specifics with the claims agent, but the agent was patient with me. Telephone hold times to talk to a live agent could be improved.

I have bought this home protection plan for two years of coverage for $750. About two weeks ago, my air condition went down. I called the company, and they referred to their technician, but the technician was not answering his phones. I called back, they said I can find my own technician. I spent $100 to find out what the problem is, and called them back, and they wanted a detailed report, so I spent another $158 for leak check, providing them with pictures of the leak, and also reason. It is extremely hard to get hold of any real person, sometimes I have to hold the line for an hour to talk to someone. It has been two weeks that I have to live in the heat, and finally my document is complete.
Today they told me because it is a leak caused by corrosion, they don't cover this type of breakdown. I wanted to cancel my plan, and they won't prorate my premium, but only refund me $159. Overall, I spent $750 (less $159 maybe), plus $258, and hours of phone waiting time, two weeks living in the heat for nothing. It is not worth it. I won't trust Insurance company very much from now on. It is better to save money on my own. A guy from a heating and cooling company told me that he has been dealing with them for 19 years, and it has always been like this--when you need them, you have to fight really hard, and they won't pay usually over $1000.

I was promised that if a appliance was repairable Choice Warranty would replace the unit with a similar unit or better. Please call their sales and speak to an agent today they will reconfirm. I called Choice Warranty as my dishwasher stop working. The repair company arrived and informed me that 2 parts were needed. Since the cost of the parts was over $200, Choice Warranty said they will not repair the unit but offered me a settlement for $180. I asked them to replace it and they quoted me a clause in their contract that said, they can only give me a black dishwasher worth $175. I was asked to refer a clause in exceptions where it states that they will only replace with a unit of their choice. DO NOT TRUST THIS ORGANIZATION! THEY ARE THIEFS and LIARS!

We absolutely love Choice Warranty. I called yesterday at 6:50 p.m. & got a call back from Element A.C. They were coming to fix my a.c. at 7:10 p.m. & they were here today to fix my AC before 12 pm. Our A/C unit was unable to maintain desired temperature and was getting worse over time. I submitted a claim online with CHW and almost immediately I was scheduled with service the next day at our convenience. The service tech was on-time and repaired our issue immediately. Choice Home Warranty is deceptive in their claim practices. The control panel on the frig fell causing the light bulbs to remain on, heating the interior of the frig and melting parts of the panel requiring the light socket and control panel to be replaced. Choice Home Warranty denied the claim stating that lighting is not covered by the policy. The proximate cause of the damage was the control panel falling, not the light bulbs. I feel they are looking for excuses to deny the claim.

Updated on 01/01/2019: I would not use Choice Home Warranty again. When I did have a claim of a heat pump quitting, they found every excuse to deny my claim. Upon receiving a call last night again denying my claim in spite of providing maintenance records, I was told that “proper service according to manufacturer’s warranties) were not followed. In particular amperage to the compressor was never measured. So I went to the Carrier website to see what their recommendations were for maintenance.
Below is what I found: During an air conditioner or a heat pump service call, your Carrier expert will typically: Check your system's operation to determine its condition and if repairs or adjustments are needed. Check refrigerant charge levels and air flow. Make sure all electrical connections are sound and components are working properly. Check for secure physical connections of individual parts. Check and clean the indoor and outdoor coils. Check and clean the condensate drainage system. Clean and adjust blower components. Check the filters, and replace or clean them, if needed. As you see, there is NO mention of measuring amperage at each visit. The above procedures had been carried out at each service visit twice a year. Thus there is NO basis for denying the claim.
Original Review: I have been paying monthly payments to Choice Home Warranty for years. Last week my heat pump finally gave out (installed in 1998) which they ultimately will do over time. I called CHW and they sent out an HVAC technician who measured the resistance of the wiring coils of the compressor and basically told me they had worn out (total short to ground) and tripped the circuit breaker.
I submitted a claim to CHW to replace the heat pump and after almost 2 weeks of going back and forth with them (and getting different excuses as to why they won't pay), I ended up cancelling my policy and have to pay to replace the heat pump. So much for having insurance. And yes, I did have semi-annual maintenance performed according to manufacturer's recommendations but CHW still utilized unsubstantiated reasons for denial. DON'T EVER USE THIS COMPANY!!! Put your monthly payment in a bank account and save for a day one of your appliances stops working.

We have been with CHW since 2013. We have not had very many claims, however we have been very happy with each claim. CHW Customer service is awesome. All of their CSRs are friendly, patient, smart. And get's the job done. My last claim was 2016 and I had the privilege of dealing with a supervisor. She was very helpful and fixed the problem immediately. We have never had a problem with any of their vendors. They have been nice respectable and just. Fixes the problem... We highly recommend CHW to everyone. For us, it is a peace of mind that we can get things fixed for less than our homeowners insurance for a lot less for the same results. Thank you CHW for making life a little less stressful in a very stressful world.

I decided to select a home warranty just moving into a new home. Choice was obviously not a good company I selected. Calling them may take several minutes (30 minutes or more or they just drop your call and you have to start all over again). They sometimes send out someone who is not qualified for the repair or send out a service person with no ID that tells you who is in your home! My last call to Choice was to repair my refrigerator (bad fan). It took 17 days (5 minutes labor) to finally make the repair. Six months ago I had a washer go bad and the service person declared it couldn't be repaired. Choice in their book said we repair or replace the appliance... well they should actually state that they will give you 1/3 of the replacement cost. Unfortunately I have 4 more months to this contract... I hope nothing breaks in those 4 months so I can research a new warranty company.

I have been trying since May 17th 2016 to get my ac unit repaired and I have been given the run around with this company, not only does it take me nearly 50 minutes to speak with someone the only time I get answers is when I am at the point of yelling and asking to speak to a supervisor, then I get pacified as if I am not aware that they are not really trying to help, they have not even contacted the contractor to inform him that they will not honor the claim, he has sent in pictures and I have seen the pictures and I was told the coil was dirty and it is clearly not dirty, they had no intention of filing this claim. I have never had such bad customer service in my life and I know about customer service, I have done it before and I feel as if they have no empathy for their clients - they just take the money and are neglectful in working with customers.
I have a child with skin allergies and when she gets too hot she gets whelps and this was told to the company about her skin allergies and not a care or concern. When I asked for a second technician due to the first one not showing up or coming late in the evening, I was talked down to and made to feel as though it was my fault that he was not coming out. I was to a degree called a liar for not allowing him to come back to my home, and it took half a morning and a bad attitude to get a new technician, all I want is to have my unit repaired. I am not asking for a lot just what my contract states that I should have received as a service. This has been going on since 5/17/16. It is now 6/27/16 and I still have no air and yes I have sent in a termination email because I am not satisfied with the company and as of tonight at 8:58 I am still an active client with no chance of getting any quality service.

I called to see about filing a claim, then was told that the ice maker was not included in our policy. However the contract they sent us doesn't exclude it. When I told the lady that she told me that I had to prove it to her. When I asked how much of refund to cancel my policy, she said none...apparently she can't do math. If my policy is $50/month and I have had it for 45 months, which is $2250.45 total... I paid for 5 years upfront for a total of $2375.00. That leaves me $124.55 of a refund. I know it's not much, but it will cover the cost of the repair I have to make now that they tell us the ice maker isn't covered. Do not use this company, they will try to scam you and say that there is a limit on items, but it doesn't say that in the policy I have. Horrible customer service as well as customer retention. We will never use them or recommend them!

I have an apartment in Las Vegas. The air conditioning is not working and I requested for service. After the technician came and collected the service call fee, he called Choice Home Warranty and told me to contact Choice Home to discuss the coverage. After waiting for 2 hours, the representative told me they don't cover the valve in the A/C unit. Then hang up. I called again and waiting to speak to the supervisor. It took another 1 hour and 47 minutes to talk to the supervisor. She said they don't cover the valve in the A/C unit. They refuse to cover the cost of the fixing the A/C. The reason they don't cover is homeowner don't buy the valve coverage in the A/C system. Does it make sense that homeowner need to know all the valves and wire in the A/C to buy the coverage on each part?

I left my previous company for poor service. I search for a month and found CHW was rated one of the best. I changed my home warranty to them in November, since then it's been a nightmare. I called for a dishwasher in late November only to find out I had a wait period of 30 days I was not advised of. I was told to call back. I did in December and then they sent a tech out. It was a panel, they said it was impossible. It went out in the time my warranty was effective (December), it went out in late November. They sent me 100 for the miscommunication to replace my dishwasher which I couldn't even buy a used one for 100.00, so 300+ I had to pay for a dishwasher, delivery and install. Then my water heater stopped working, they sent out a tech, it was a heating element he replaced. 3 weeks later it stopped again. He returned, tapped on it and they called me, said he heard sediment so it wasn't covered.
I then paid and replaced myself, 400+ when being drained, it was confirmed no sediment was in it. They laughed when I told them about the tap test. Few months later windstorm in PHX. I purposely bought roof coverage due to monsoons in Phoenix. 48 shingles blew off my roof, no real damage, just blew off. They stated it was caused by a storm and that wasn't covered. So only roof issues caused by great weather are covered by them. 500 I had to pay for that. Recently my ac stopped working, called them explained I had an infant and two pets in the house 115 degrees in PHX. They send out an ac guy, he finds it's a burnt breaker. His boss calls in to get the repair done (just replace the breaker), they hang up on him. My husband calls them explain we have a small child who is sick and breathing machines. They say we need an electrician. Send out plumbing and drain (24 hours later).
I had since replace the breaker. They thought they were coming for a pool. But checked the breaker I put in, said it looked great and left. Saturday night ac went back out, called their supposed 24/7 service, got a recording to send an email for emergencies which I did. I have to receive a call or response, never. Glad I didn't have broken water lines or something. Had to call a 24-hour ac repair at 200.00, it was the breaker that was confirmed to be great and in good shape by the plumbing company they sent to fix my electrical.
So far this company has cost me over 3000.00 in repairs I have had to pay myself due to some excuse they always find not to repair an item, my monthly fee to have them, and the service charged to send out techs. I have contacted the BBB and will be cancelling my service with them immediately. I have sent numerous emails complaining about these issues and messages for manager to call me with their call center. Not one response. Worst service ever. Go with any company but them, they are a joke.

118 degrees plus! I called Choice Home Warranty & placed a claim. During the process I turned on my 2nd unit... which simultaneously went out! I was physically sick. I contacted Choice and they issued a 2nd work order to the assigned service contractors (Guillen Heating & Refrigeration) without hesitation. Guillen repaired both and life is good again. I cannot thank Choice enough for their understanding and professionalism regarding my problems.

My washing machine stopped working last week. I called Choice Home Warranty. The following day the contractor called and set up an appointment to come out check the washer. The contractor, the technician who came to my house is super professional, friendly, and assuring and you can tell he loves his job. Bowser from Lighting Bolt Appliance. I hope, if I ever need a technician, CHW will contract the same company and dispatch Bowser... Choice Home Warranty was quick.
The technician came in on 6/23/16 and yesterday 6/24/16 CHW automated system called me (the only negative thing I will say is trying to call back to talk to claims took me more than 40 mins so I had to use my speaker phone and kept working). The lady was very professional, (am sorry I do not have her name, I wrote her name down and forgot it at work), a Great customer service rep. CHW will send me a cheque for $450 to cover part of the replacement cost for my washing machine. I know it will not be enough to get me my beautiful Frigidaire front load washer. I will have to dig back in my pocket to cover the balance. Overall, I am happy with Choice Home Warranty.

CHW sent a AC company out to my house to check the problems, and the technician said that my AC has a lot of problems going on. But he only "said" the situation and he did not help me to solve any problems. He just left and let me to talk to the CHW. I contacted CHW again and the agent let me find other AC companies on my own to repair my AC. Also, CHW does not cover any of my fees on this situation because they said that my situation on AC is pre-existing but we do not know that if it is whether pre-existing or not. After that I found an AC company on my own and all their technician did is added 2 pounds freon and my house cooled down 2 degrees in less than 5 fives. It has been 3 weeks since the company (that I found on myself) came to my house and my house AC has been operating great since that company came.
I just contacted CHW today again because I paid an extra 200 dollars on my own and I tried to see what to do with this extra 200 dollars. But this agent of CHW who answered my call were asking me if I want this 100 dollars check or not ALL the way throughout the call, and he said that my claim has been closed but I did not get any help nor got my question answered at all. At last he hung up the call on himself and I feel it is disrespectful. I bought insurance of CHW but I still have to pay the repairing fee on my OWN. I am very confused on this throughout the whole situation.

This is my second claim. My first claim, their contractor came to my home in a car with his girlfriend to fix my washer. Told me he couldn't get the part about week later after calling and calling her said the warranty dept. was looking for the part. After another 3 days they found the part and then the contractor told me it would be another 3 days before he could come back out to fix it.
Now I have another claim with my air conditioning system and the first contractor said he would not be able to take the job. I explained that I had a medical condition and needed the air fixed ASAP. So the next contractor tells me 2 days before they could come. Then they have to order parts and it will be several more days. And you sit on hold with the warranty dept for over an hour to speak to a representative.

The reason you buy a home warranty is to be covered when big expense happens. I guarantee this company will not cover big expense. They cover just some small part replacement etc. When it comes to replace a unit, they pull out all the tricks in the bag. My A/C unit went away. The technician they figured out to send after 4 days because the guys they initially assigned will not show up and I had to waste a lot of time and suffer the heat. The second technician they assigned was a good guy, analyzed the problem and said the unit has reached its end of life and will have to be replaced which information he sent to them right in front of me.
Then these guys call and leave a voicemail to callback BTW to talk to their claims department. You have to been on hold for at least 2 hours. Finally they say I need to do a leak check and I have to pay for it then I call the technician. He says leak check is not required. He will talk to them. Next day I again call. This time they say that the unit is not maintained which I showed that I do regular maintenance to the technician. At which point after 6 days I am done with this company and cancelled the account. Don't trust this company.

First part of May I made a claim on my 3 year old high end dishwasher. Person came out right away and said he would order part and be back in 3-5 days. Someone from Choice called said would cost too much to fix dishwasher and they would be sending me a check for $260. I said I could not replace for that amount, but that is what they were sending. Would take 30 days to process check and 7-10 days for it to arrive.
Called them on June 24 and they said check was mailed June 7. Must have got slowed in bulk mail. It has been 48 days since claim and they told me I would have to pay $30 to stop payment or wait another 90 days for check to expire before they could issue another one. It is dishonest. A scam they do not intend to pay. They should have paid for new dishwasher as contract stated but at least send what they agreed to. BEWARE. They are fraud.

I have several rental properties that I switched to Choice Home Warranty. When Choice calls or emails me about a claim, it is just to give me their number and say to call them, so there is no attempt to actually contact me, but to make me wait on hold, and I suspect, to have most customers unable to hold for almost an hour in the middle of the work day. I was on hold for 17 minutes, then transferred to "customer service" and placed on hold for over 30 minutes in relation to an open claim. When the message was for me to call about the claim, why is the number given not direct to the claim representatives? When I asked the representative if they could call me back today, after giving me time to communicate with the contractor, they said no, they were set up to only receive calls, not call out! I think this is meant to have me give up so they can log that the claim was closed due to customer not communicating.
They also told me their contractor sent out could not determine the make and model of my built in oven, which seems to call into question the credentials and experience of the contractor. Then they offered a low dollar amount "towards replacement" which was less than half the cost to buy a new unit, much less install it. My contract says that a covered appliance that cannot be repaired will be replaced. I have provide them the name and model number and serial number. I have not heard back, I am on hold (estimated at 37 minutes, but it has been 54 minutes) as I type. Finally talking to them, now they are offering $305.00 towards replacement of a built in double oven!! This makes my policy with them effectively worthless since it is less than I paid for year of coverage on this property, which has had no prior claim.

I placed a claim concerning my garage door opener not working. Frank Bauer with Garage Door Carolinas came to my home without an appointment and early morning before I woke, ringing my door bell. To try and condense the events that transpired, he un-jammed the door but now the belts were hanging. He was nervous and told me he could not diagnose problem. Bottom line, was he told the home warranty company something I did prevented my garage door from being fixed. Choice honored my request after a letter and many phone calls. I had nothing to do with the extreme damage that Frank Bauer caused.The door and garage was only 16 months old.
Choice restored my faith in my home warranty by reopening the claim and bringing out a 2nd contractor. This company was Garage Door and More. They set an appointment. They were knowledgeable, professional and walked me through what was going on. The previous company left without warning, just the way they arrived. Thank you Choice for believing in your customers!!!

This is by far the worst warranty company I have ever used! Their customer service is horrible, normal waiting time on hold has never been less than 30 minutes. They refuse to fix things that are in contract and use the excuse as non-maintenance to keep from paying out. They demand proof of maintenance and once proof is given they come up with a different reason for not paying out. They refuse to refund money for plan and won't allow you out of the contract and won't pay for service calls. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Recently my dishwasher and a/c went out unexpectedly on the same day. So I contacted CHW. The companies that were assigned to me for these issues contacted me within minutes and set up appointments. Both technicians were very knowledgeable. My a/c was fixed the same day the technician came out, however, a part had to be ordered for my dishwasher. The company took care of that and came back and replaced the part within minutes. I was very surprised with the response time and am very grateful for the service CHW provides. I will definitely be recommending them.

I called in to have my microwave repaired on 6/17/2016. The company came out on Monday morning, couldn't repair microwave so they submitted a claim. Called CHW on Tuesday around 2:30 pm and the manager was very nice. She told me they will send me a check in the mail to get another microwave. Technician came to my home because the air conditioning was not working properly. After careful inspection it turned out that the circuit breakers were not making a full connection and they needed to be replaced. Reported this to Choice and they arranged for an electric technician to come to my home and replace the faulty circuit breakers. Now the air conditioning system is working perfectly. Both technicians were very professional, arrived on time, did not make any mess.

We have had our policy now for about a year and half and this is our second service call. We had a leak under our sink and were assigned a local plumbing company. They sent down a service associate who was very experienced as well as courteous and professional. In less than an hour he found where the leak was coming from and fixed it as well. In addition he checked out the rest of the plumbing to let us know all else was ok except that our pressure gauge in the front of the house may need to be replaced. We could not have asked for more professional service.

When I purchased a Choice Home Warranty it sounded like the greatest thing. I have had to use the warranty 3 times since the date of purchase and the customer service is horrible at best. This last time I attempted to use the warranty it was for an inoperable ac unit (bad compressor). A company was sent out and diagnosed the problem. A capacitor was replaced and the compressor was diagnosed as bad. It took at least 8 phone calls on my part over the course of six days to get a status update from Choice Home Warranty on the claim while I was sitting in 90 degree heat with no air. Choice does a horrible job at updating and or calling customers back when a claim is filed. I recommend using a warranty company that is more responsive and has better customer support.

I have a furnace with a cracked heat exchanger. The CHW contractor was in my home looking at my furnace and physically said it was clear. It was not neglected in any way. He sent CHW photos upon their request and they immediately denied my furnace claim saying the system was neglected and in bad shape. They used words like "severe rust and corrosion" before they even received the photos! They were going to deny this no matter what was said. After several complaints, they offered me $200 to make me go away. I will not accept their $200 - it's an insult when I have to pay $3,000 for a new furnace. I purchased the home warranty to avoid this kind of major expenditure. I have been very diligent about maintaining this unit and have taken good care of it. I am disgusted they say it's neglected. This company is shady at best and I strongly recommend you look elsewhere for a home warranty.

After calling your customer service, I quickly received an email from Glyns Appliance repair with their tel number. I called them and told the manager what the dryer was doing. He took the brand and model and said his technician would be out between 0800 and 0900 the next morning. The technician showed up and after starting the dryer knew exactly what the problem was. He even had the parts based on the description from the day before. He was finished repairing the blower and motor in just over an hour. This was some of the best service I have had not just from the company, but also from Choice Home Warranty.

I have had home warranty companies for the last 20 years. Prior to this experience, I have never had a bad experience. The customer service has always been above and beyond. Was told by a very persuasive sales agent that Choice was considered the best. My air conditioning went out with two small children in the home. I reached out to Choice. I have not only been on hold 3 times for 20-25 minutes each time when I finally got through to them they assigned a Solar Repair company who did not speak English. I am not recommending this company to anyone. In the middle of a heat wave in Las Vegas, 4 hours later I still have no AC.

Claim # **. Date: 05/06/16. Problem: Front burners giving issues, not working properly. Technician visited 3 times after multiple calling to Choice and technician from MIRA HOME REPAIRS. Different Diagnosis at each visit. 1) After 1st visit Coil need to be replaced. 2) After 2nd Visit regulator need to be replaced. 3) After 3rd Visit Glass has scratches from inside.
So final diagnosis from him after so many visits that Glass has scratches from inside. I fail to understand home come glass of cook top has scratches from inside. So he said, "You cannot view your coil working or not." Before his visit it was working sometime and after his visits, the outer rings of the coil completely stopped working. And claims department is not ready to listen and stating that glass is not covered under warranty policy.
As per my view: The technician is not capable to fix the issue and he know glass is not covered so Choice will close the issue. Choice claim department should use their common sense and can understand there is no role of glass to flame the coil partially. If there is role of glass then it should complete stopped working not only outer circle.

I tried to protect my home with a Choice Home Warranty, but so far all it has done is made things worse. We noticed our fridge was broken Sunday morning so we contacted Choice home warranty and we were very pleased when someone was able to come out that same night (haha silly us). They came out and played around with our fridge and eventually said we needed a new starter and they would go get that and come back to fix it the next day. Well, they never showed up so we called the contractor that was out here the day before and he doesn't have his voicemail set up and did not answer his phone (fun fact: a google search of his name shows a list of burglary charges so thanks for helping keep my home safe Choice).
Anyway, so we called choice home warranty again and we were told we had to wait 24 hours for it to be reassigned. It was eventually reassigned for someone to come out this morning (at this point we have been without a fridge for 5 days). This new contractor took one look at our fridge and said it would be a minimum of 4-5 days before they could even attempt to fix the issue because the other contractor messed up all the wiring so bad that they didn't even know how to put it back together. So, I called choice home warranty again and was told they needed to contact the technicians that had been out and they would call me back within a maximum of 2-3 hours. I'm sure you're surprised that no one ever called. I called back, explained my situation again and I was put on hold for a bit and then I was told basically nothing and that I could call them back tomorrow for more information. I'm sure they will resolve the situation tomorrow (sarcasm).

I was very happy that within minutes I had a service provider assigned to my claim and was easy to reach and schedule a same day appointment! The provider was Cole's A/C and Mike was very knowledgeable and worked quickly to fix my problem and get us air conditioning! I just wish that there was a coverage of damage repairs up to $**. The service representing from Choice was very friendly and clear on the process. She told me that I would receive an email with the best local AC repair available in my area. Within an hour I received that email. Minutes later, I received a call from the local AC repair company to set up an appointment. The repair company arrived within 2 hours of our conversation. The were quick and professional - chained out a couple of parts and got it running again. I was in the cool! The entire process from broken AC to having it fixed was handled in the span on 4 hours. Highly recommend Choice.

Our first experience with a claim went well. We woke up to our AC not cooling. After going online and filling out the needed information, Choice Home promptly gave me a claim number and told us who to call to schedule an appointment. They evaluated our situation and told us that a leak test needed to be performed. Choice Home however did not cover the test but it was stated so in their policy. After obtaining the test, the contractor submitted the work order to Choice Home. It was approved and they came and performed the work all in a timely manner.

My rental property's AC unit did not blow cool air (bad capacitor). This was my first time requested service from Choice. Just a few rings, the customer service rep answered the phone call. After answered tons of questions from the customer service rep. he said that the contractor could be assigned within 24 hours, then it could take two days for contractor to schedule the service. I was very disappointed about the long process time, but did not say anything.
However, a few minutes later, received an email providing the contractor information. I called the contractor to schedule the service and the contractor showed up on time and fixed the problem. From the time I called Choice, within three hours, the problem fixed. I was very surprised about the response time of this service call. Hopefully, it is norm for Choice.

We purchased our home in December. Received the home warranty at closing. It didn't even go into effect for 6 weeks after we closed on the home. We then submitted 2 claims in May, one for the air conditioner, and one for the washing machine. Both claims were denied for ridiculous exclusions that they include in the fine print in their contract and ask the contractors leading questions to get them to say something in particular that would cause them to be able to deny the claim. Even their own contractors couldn't believe how ridiculous their reasons for denial were and how poor their service was. One of their own contractors indicated that they would not continue to do business for Choice in the future. We had to pay $90 out of pocket for NOTHING!

So disappointed. I own a Real Estate Company and tried this for my personal home. Every single thing I asked about was not covered. When you read the warranty most everything is not covered. Save your money and get a qualified person to fix anything you need done. The vendor they sent out for my roof was trying to sell me a new roof and was not helpful at all. I do not need a new roof I have been told by several other qualified roofers I called on my own. So, if you want aggravation and no service and want to pay them monthly for nothing then this is your company! When you try to cancel you are on the line for hours. They never answer. This is their strategy. Hope this is helpful to someone.

When I was sold the Choice Home Warranty the salesman promised me the moon! He was very friendly and very comforting (as any insurance salesperson should be). He even upsold me on the pool coverage! Yay for me! Right? Wrong! From the refrigerator, to the air conditioner, to pool filter, to the water heater, there was always a convenient excuse for why they could not cover the repair! I have called this company for the return of my fund since cancel on 5/8/16, I was informed by Saline - supervisor $75.84, would be returned into my account within three days. On 5/13/16, I called to see why the funds were not in my account and was informed by Lewis - supervisor of cancellation states that funds should be in my account today. I called again today spoke with Alan - manager of claims he was over talking me indicating the funds will show in 7-10 business days. Alan was argumentative and given false information. I called my bank and they indicated that no refund was processed and that it only take 3 business days to return and refund to a credit card. THIS HAS BEEN A VERY POOR DISRESPECTFUL GROUP. Loud talking in the background, very disrespectful group in the cancellation department, place you on hold for very long periods of time.

The service company Tidewater was excellent. Very professional. When the tech finished the diagnosis they had to get permission to do the repair. This took about 40 minutes which seemed long to me. This could have been done sooner but I guess it was a very busy day for you folks. That being said I thought your service was excellent. Choice sucks! Choice sucks! Choice sucks! I can't stress that enough!!! They do not cover anything. I have called them multiple times on my AC until last year & this year, they didn't cover 1 thing! I have quickly let them know that I would not be renewing with them this year when my contract ends & they would not get one more penny of my money. When I placed the claim online, it was literally 3 minutes and I had already received a response! The service technician’s arrival was prompt and he was knowledgeable in diagnosing the problem with my refrigerator. Choice Home Warranty was prompt in the decision making process regarding the repair. In my case the repair was too costly for the age of the appliance. I was prompted to call CHW to speak with a customer service agent. The conversation was professional and my problem was taken care off to my complete satisfaction! I do recommend CHW for the reason of 100% customer satisfaction! I have always been satisfied and will continue to be loyal to Choice Home Warranty for my home appliances.

DON'T GET IT. STAY AWAY. Choice Home Warranty was very quick to get my money. I have a plumbing issue in my house. In my contract it states that they will access the plumbing system through the ceiling and will patch it back to rough condition. I was on the phone with them for hours. They denied the claim and said "we don't cover it." They don't honor the contract. I would not recommend this home warranty to anyone.

The technician said the oven could not be repaired and CHW gave me a $300 buyout. The check was mailed and delivered to my residence in six weeks just as they told me. I am now awaiting the delivery of my $1100 oven for installation. I could not have been more pleased with CHW.

I was very hesitant about Home Warranties, because I have heard mixed reviews. However, the appliances in my house are quite old so I thought it would be worth the risk. I have used Choice Home three times this year and have been very satisfied. For the plumbing service we had complete stoppage in the house and a guest was upstairs. Although they said they were not an emergency service, they somehow got a plumber out that same day at 7:30 PM. We were thrilled. I would highly recommend Choice Home Warranty.

Paid for two years. Now I need them and being screwed. Sent a plumber or A/C repairman to fix my washer and he ruined it. The company hired Turn Key A/C And Plumbing, will not return my call. Choice won't fix or honor the people they hired and won't return calls. Tried to say out of level. Funny worked fine 3 years. The "repairman" said spring needed replaced... they won't fix. He did not turn in paperwork for 5 days and now I can't get any water to my machine and he ruined it. Had to buy a new one. They still won't return a call. CHW said the repairman has insurance for this and he has to fix it. I have left 3 messages for repairman and spent 40 minutes on hold 4 times with Choice who won't honor their work. Stay away from them. Cheats and liars.

If you are considering getting a policy with this company, don't. I have one and it's not worth anything. The coil on my A/C unit went bad. They sent a repairman out to see what the problem was. I paid the $45 fee. The repairman said I must have a leak of the coolant and that if I wanted to be sure it would be another $100 to find the leak. So I paid another $100 and they found the leak at the coil. He told me, and then they told me that the leaking coil wouldn't be covered. Besides the compressor, the coil is the second biggest and most expensive part to repair or replace. They said to buy the coverage to prevent an expense like this. It cost $1800 to replace the coil. I spent $1945 and CHOICE HOME WARRANTY spent??? NOT MUCH!!!

Choice settled claim fairly but service inspection was not satisfactory. Ideal Services did not thaw out evaporator coil to see it to be in good condition. Second opinion co. did and we saved a lot of money by not replacing expensive parts in good condition.

This is by far the worse company I ever dealt with. The customer service person sold me on all these promised coverages that were not true. I only called them 3 times in the year I have had them. The first time, the service person never showed up & wouldn't return my calls or theirs. Then I had something on - the water heater broke. Water was pouring out & they said it wasn't covered because it was under manufacturer warranty. Then this time it says the ducts are covered for the a/c & they denied that saying it only covers the ducts if they are loose or falls off but not to replace. That's after 4 reps told me 4 different things.
The rep who I signed up with said they had emergency service that would send a tech out in 4 hrs, & what more of an reason than having water pouring from my water heater out of the garage door when I got home. So everything they said they did or do is the opposite. DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING this company says! I can't believe they are allowed to stay in business the way they deceive people. I am canceling them asap if they will ever answer the phone. Nothing is covered & they have an excuse for not covering everything that they say will be covered just to get you to sign up.

I had the worst ever experience with Choice. I bought this a year ago. All their advertisements are about getting the warranty irrespective of the age of the house etc. My AC upstairs wasn't working. I asked them to take a look then I come to know they don't even have my correct address. Never got any contract or letter from Choice. I had that corrected. Guy comes in and told me that Choice needs pictures and leak test to be done. He charged me $195 for both. Later I have been told that it's not covered due to some code because I have rust in the coil.
I asked them why I have been charged for leak test if you can see the rust with pictures plus I was never told that they work with some exceptions. This company is totally a fraud and people are liar. The vendor they work with are also part of their plan to deceive people. I will open case with Better Business Bureau as well and tell all my friends and community not to have Choice for any reason. If you are considering Choice you better live without it. I had an emergency, the toilet clogged. After calling Roto-Rooter the 1st time, unclogged and few days later the system backed up and flooded the house. The 2nd Roto-Rooter came in with a huge estimate. Then I called CHW, the rep put me at ease and sent me BK Plumbing who came in to assist in resolving my problem. He took his time and checked everywhere in the house to pinpoint the problem and eventually unclogged the problem.

How Many Contractors does it take to inspect an AC unit? The running tally is (5). Yup you read it correct; five different exchanges for five of which three have been the same contractor. Last year I bought a Row home in Baltimore, MD and purchased a home warranty to protect the cost of my investment. Settlement was in March, My initial claim was in September 2015. To my surprise, CHW refused to cover the cost to fix my AC because it wasn't inspected, however, my home passed a few very gruesome home inspections by the Department of Veterans Affairs since I am a Veteran.
This year, I decided to have my properties all inspected just to avoid having to pay any out of pocket expense for repairs. I called CHW, and I am being told that the warranty does not cover maintenance. Well I know that, but since you're so connected with all types of contractors wouldn't it make sense to use your service to send out one of the contractors you vouch for, and then have it documented that unit was maintained just in case, you don't want to pay for repairs in the future.
CHW told me that I have provide access to the contractors because my unit is located on the roof of my row home, which is the norm in Baltimore, Washington DC area due to space and protection from vandalism for the unit. The issue here is that none of the 3 contractors have the appropriate equipment to do their jobs (i.e. Ladders). You wouldn't hire a plumber, then buy him tools to do a job in your home, they should automatically have the appropriate tools. My next question, how does CHW screen their contractors, because none of the representatives I've spoken to seem to know. Maybe it's just me; but my belief. If I'm contracting a service provider through my organization, I'm going to make sure that they are legitimate, insured and bonded, and have an overall good reputation prior to sending them to any of my client's homes.
So I get off the line with CHW, and they are telling me that I have to provide access to the roof of my house... I don't own a truck and how am I going to first move a ladder that extends over two stories and then store it in the city, with no garage or storage on site. I'm truly disappointed CHW has continued to take my monthly premium for over one year and when I need them to provide service for my home; they tell me that I do not meet their contractual obligations. What a RIPOFF!!!

I bought a home with 4 AC units. 2 are almost new, 2 are original (1988). The other appliances were ALL replaced by me, so are also new. I bought the home warranty because the older AC units and water heater and other systems should be insured, though were working fine. Last week one of the older AC units quit, so I called Choice. After I paid the service fee and had a leak test done, the service man said there was a leak in the coil caused by rust. Choice said this was MY fault, even though I am not the original owner and DID have the unit serviced last year. NO COVERAGE AT ALL.

On-time. Extremely personable. I watched James from start to finish. Knew what he was doing. Fixed the problem and then waited to be sure the dishwasher was now operating correctly. Then, when I thought there was a problem 2 hours later, he returned my telephone call and assured me there wasn't any problem. Second time I have used JB Services and I will request them again for what they specialize in servicing. Problem was solved within 24 hours of calling CHW. Couldn't expect a better experience.

After a week of being placed on hold and forgotten about multiple times, being lied to about return phone calls that never happened, and a litany of excuses, this company denied a claim for repairs or replacement to my air conditioning condenser unit system which failed after many years of well maintained, normal usage. They did send out a service tech, who examined the problem and reported back to them the unit was properly maintained and should be covered by their warranty. The owner of the service company, Mr ** reported to me he had personally corroborated this report to Choice's staff, after THEY LEFT HIM ON HOLD FOR 40 MINUTES! In spite of this Choice ARBITRARILY denied the claim saying the cause was poor maintenance... Totally untrue. So I am considering legal action and have dropped "poor Choice" Home Warranty. They are a bunch of PHONIES.

The technician checked the thermostat and found it was not working. He changed it to a new one after calling the company. Then, he also checked the compressor and found it was tripping the circuit breaker. He reported this to his company. He told me to talk with my insurance about this problem. He was thorough in checking the problems and in explaining the new thermostat and the problem with the compressor.

I called about my washer - when spinning it was stopping. The service dept. had a repairman there the next day and the drum bearing were bad - the washer could not be repaired. I called and talked with Kenya. She said they would have to mail me a check to replace the washer and she would put a rush on it, I should receive it within 30 days. I thought that was a bit long but glad I was going to get a new washer.

For simple AC problem I have called them more than 30 times. The staff was very rude. They just tried to pick up a random issue and say that it is not under warranty. I get my own technician and he said they totally lied about the problem of my unit, and the issue was something else. They did that to not cover my unit and pretend the issue comes from a part that is not under warranty, however, the issue was something else and they wanted just to charge me for $1500 extra. DO NOT go to them, you would regret!

I have had my warranty for over two years and just filed a claim for my upstairs air-conditioning unit. To my disappointment it was rejected. The pan was leaking and they said in paragraph D item 5 it was not covered. However that paragraph was for the heater. Item 4 deals with air conditioning and it is not excluded in that paragraph. After speaking with a representative it seems that few things are covered and a lot is not covered. I did not receive my contract to review until after signing up due to "deadlines" on all of the specials they were offering and I had to request it several times before receiving it. I am disappointed in my decision to go with this company and will not renew. The positive side is that a technician contacted me in a very timely manner and I was very pleased with everything that he did.

On 05/31/2016 I contacted CHW because my AC was not cooling. They sent AAA HVAC service on 06/02/16. The tech wrote the following on work order (I have a copy). "Freon all leaked out of condenser, copper cap tunes have oil all over them" he was here for approx 30-45 min. He said CHW would call shortly to let me know about repair.
They never called so I called them at 5:30 PM. After approx hour on hold I spoke with Maurice who said CLAIM IS DENIED DUE TO KING VALVE BEING INSTALLED WRONG... CAUSED LEAK! I called previous owner and she said NO king valve or other work had been done on unit (except outside wire replaced). I told him there was NO mention of king valve by AAA tech in writing or verbal to me. I asked him if CHW would pay $400 toward the total bill of $904. He said "No! They will not budge on this." It was so hot in my house and AAA tech used heat setting to defrost unit AND left it on. I am 70 years old and I could have died.
Called another AC company. He came out at 8:30PM. Was here for approx 3.5 hrs. found 2 leaks, one outside and one inside (AAA did not find inside leak). Said nothing wrong with king valve. Leak was on other side of unit. He showed me leaks. New company was so professional and competent. Put freon in so I would be cool until he could get part. Has called twice to see if I am OK and cool. Given the circumstances I must conclude that the 'king valve' issue was added so CHW would not have to pay. AAA or CHW has never called me back! Seniors (esp women) are easy targets for abuse and scams... fortunately I am not and will not tolerate being taken advantage of. Thank you.

My experience with Choice Home Warranty has been tiresome. It seems as if anyone can be a service contractor with this company - they've sent an inexperienced contractor to my home to diagnose issues for which I had to hire two contractors out of pocket to assist with my leaking shower. Hold times are ridiculous in order to get anyone on the phone to explain what exactly on your policy is covered. The customer service agents transfer you without saying who they are transfer you to. I'm exasperated. After being with Choice since 2009 and having two policies I've decided to cancel. It's no way to treat a loyal customer. Improve your quality of service and explain what people are buying instead of just selling them a products!

Please share* warning super long post*. I do not want anyone else to be scammed as I was! Last summer I was solicited by Choice Home Warranty to switch over from my then, current home warranty company. They insisted that they needed no home inspection and it didn't matter how old my appliances were. I told them that all of my appliances were at least 20+ years old on the house that I had just recently purchased. They said over and over that it did not matter. I paid my fees and took out their warranty.
Two weeks ago I made my first claim, my Air Conditioner was not cooling properly. They sent a tech, tech said the unit was shot and I needed a new one. He said he would contact the company and get back with me. The next day he did... stating that they denied my claim but wouldn't tell him why. After almost an hour on the phone on hold, I spoke with Misha, a claims supervisor. She stated the claim wasn't denied and she, and she alone made the final decision, which she would call me with the next morning. I asked her why the tech would tell me such a thing and she said sometimes techs get "an inkling" that claims will be denied. She told me again that she would call the next day.
I called back the tech and told them what Misha said, and he said... I have it in writing in an email that the Claim was denied earlier that day. He forwarded me the email. I waited two days for Misha to call back. Finally, on the third day I received an email stating that I needed to call the company. I called and waited almost another hour on hold to get Carmilla, another claims supervisor. She first said that my claim was denied due to upgrades on the unit, when I said it was the original unit and it was between 20-30 years old with no upgrades, she then said it was due to the tech coding the diagnosis as lack of proper maintenance. I asked how she would know that, as she had no maintenance records or even asked for such a thing. She kept repeating that that was the diagnosis.
I asked for her superior and she refused to tell me a name. When I kept pressing she gave me Misha and I said that I wanted someone else, as they were equals and not her superior. She refused. I told her I wanted a refund of my policy and she then refused to speak to me any further. She said that the cancellation department would call me on Monday. It is now Tuesday with no call.
I have been in contact with the tech who said that he absolutely did not tell them that the unit failed due to lack of maintenance but old age, which is what even the recording states that Choice Home Warranty covers in the information shared while you wait on hold. The tech is willing to show them in any way that the failure was not due to lack of maintenance, compressor was clean and free of any debris or rust... but the warranty company will not honor his word. Their tech, that they sent out. I have paid them diligently and I only asked for them to repair the unit... not even replace the unit (a cost of 1500 vs. 4-5 thousand). This company is a scam. Do not give them your money! Please share so that others do not go through the stress that I am going through.

From my experience with Choice Home for the last 7 months, with 3 of my rentals, I have experience denies coverage, no urgent service. Finally, they me some reimbursement with X amount of money became something less. Things after another, I had to choose to cancelled the policies, then they denied to give me the reimbursement due to cancellation of the policy. Anyway, I wonder if there is anyone out there after 6 months are still satisfied with this company and still think they are in the best interest of the customer so that to build their business up. Placed online claim on sunday 6 5 2016, electrician responded same day and arrived at noon the following day. He was very professional and diagnosed all three switches very thoroughly explaining as he went from switch to switch ensuring I understood exactly what the problems were. Upon completion he informed me he needed to advise CHOICE of the problem, and wait for approval. He spoke very highly of CHOICE indicating to me as a policyholder for the first time that I made a wise decision to switch from the home warranty company I had for the past 5 years. I would proudly recommend CHOICE to my family and friends. It was my CHOICE, and I'm sticking with them.

Pool pump stopped working and I assumed it needed to be replaced. Contacted Choice Warranty and filed a claim on their website. I was contacted the next day by email with the name and contact info of a repair vendor. Called them, made an appointment (for the next day). Repairman showed up next day on time and diagnosed the issue. I only needed a new plastic cover on the pump filter basket. The one there was cracked and wouldn't maintain a proper seal. That's what caused the filter pump to overheat and stop working. The next day the cap was replaced and the system worked perfectly. I even had the DE in the filter changed out as well (additional cost, not a warranty issue). I was completely happy with the entire encounter.

I would like to start my review by saying that Choice Home Warranty uses many vendors to achieve the goal of repairing broken home appliances. Their attention to detail and the customer's satisfaction is exemplary. With that being said,I have had 3 service orders for 3 separate issues, and each problem has been handled promptly and successfully without issues. The only out-of-pocket expense for me was the $45. Copay. I have had my furnace repaired, my microwave, and my refrigerator. In closing, I would like to say I was skeptical about any company repairing all of my home's issues. I am no longer a skeptic.

Big disappointment for A/C coverage. I live in Maryland and my Heat Pump of 2 tons in a townhouse broke down last week. It took a week for Choice Warranty to send a tech (we are not in summer yet) and find out that Choice Home Warranty doesn't cover refrigerant leak detection or repair in air conditioning, basically you are in your own. Their tech didn't even want to do this leak detection. Finally after another week of waiting he calls me to charge for this leak detection without repair $ 250. This is the second time I claim, the first time CHW didn't cover the condensation pump leak repair. The claim department doesn't help much.

I have three homes with 2 covered by Choice Home Warranty. I purchased their top plan on both, to include limited roof coverage. When I called in for very minor items they responded quickly. I called in a roof problem and they scheduled someone to come out. They came out and reported that the roof leak was in the valley where there was flashing covered by shingles. Guess what, even though that was part of the roof system (NO COVERAGE) had to pay the roofer myself. Two thousand for the repairs and $12000 for a new roof, it was an older roof so I choose the latter.
Called in problem on A/C. I know nothing about A/Cs. When I called in they asked what the problem was and I told them all I knew was that it was dripping water thru my living room ceiling. Of course their response was "we don't cover water leaks", that was that and would not send out a technician. I had to pay $130 for an A/C company to check it out. They found a leak in the coil that caused the unit to freeze up and of course in the heat of the day it thawed. Cost me $4300 for new unit. THEY WILL NEVER GET ANOTHER CENT FROM ME.

We have been going back and forth with Choice Home Warranty for a week now. They set us up with the first Ac company with no luck of getting anything done. I called and called with a lot of complaining for three days and finally assigned us a new Ac company. We call this company with the number they gave us and it does not exist. This was the 4th visit for this dryer with the same problem. This tech is possibly the same one from the last visit. I had another tech for the first two visits. Heat register/control element was bad. Tech replaced thermocouple and associated elements to control dryer temp. It seems to be working okay right now.

Shut off angle stops were leaking and not holding pressure. VKS Plumbing responded to the service request and sent a plumber with a helper to make the repairs. They arrived within 15 minutes of the scheduled appointment and were professional and courteous. They left the work site clean and neat. There is still a small leak and I intend to call the plumber back to tighten the fittings.

I purchase a policy with Choice Home Warranty thinking it was one of the best company. My refrigerator broke down 70 days after the warranty has been purchased. They claim it was a preexisting condition even though I was unaware of it. First of all no one had the courtesy to call me back regarding the claim. It took the same technician who fail to come back and fix the problem as schedule. That same technician called me back, reported the company denies the claim. They assume it was a preexisting issue and offered to fix it. An estimate were provided to me over the phone. When attempted to call Choice warranty from my own phone there was a block from my phone. After 1 ring the phone hang up no matter how many times I've called from my phone. When attempted to call from another phone I was able to get through with no problem, which did confirm that someone block my phone number from calling the company.
Finally I was able to speak with someone in claim department. She then transferred me to someone else who happened to answer the phone 10 minutes later after constant ringing. She identify herself as the claim supervisor. At first she could not find my claim with my address, but were able to retrieve it with my contract number. The supervisor was so rude, did not even took into consideration the amount of time spending waiting for her to answer the phone, but she was just told me my claim was not approved because it was a preexisting condition even though I may not be unaware of it and it was also due to the time frame of the policy. She further explained if it was within another month later it would have been a better outcome. Furthermore, I ask her what criteria did they use to prove it was a preexisting condition, she replied her technician report the same one who offered to fix it on the side.
My experience with Choice Home Warranty was very bad and would advise anyone out there to think twice before buying a policy from this company, because when it is time to purchase the policy the sales rep are very friendly but when it is claim issue the service is very poor they will always find ways to denies your claim and they are very unprofessional. They do not value their customers. I am very dissatisfied with the service received from Choice Home Warranty and would rate them as a 1 star company.

This Company is a fraud. After going through the 30 day waiting period and paying 2 payments I was told my pool pump was not covered because it was preexisting. Because I had an issue within 4 days of the second payment. How do anyone determine when?

Choice Home Warranty hides behind small print disclaimer to deny a claim. Last November I purchased a home warranty for my elderly parent from Choice Home Warranty (CHW). In early May my mother turned on her AC and found it was not cooling properly. On May 12, 2016, I opened a repair request with Choice Home Warranty. The automated system assigned an AC company in Houston.
When I called them the company did not know of the claim. I called CHW and five days later on May 17TH, Houston Comfort Air was assigned the repair call. We made an appointment with Houston Comfort Air and a technician looked at the unit and determined the AC coils had failed. Houston Comfort Air stated they would make their recommendation to CHW as to the covered repair. I called CHW the following day and they stated they would not cover the repair because the coils had suffered rust. They stated their policy does not cover failure of a covered item from rust. CHW stated Houston Comfort Air had quoted a price of $250.00 to replace the coil and charge the unit. CHW offered to cover $100 of the $250 repair. I agreed to have the work performed.
When I called Houston Comfort Air, they stated there was a mistake and the actual cost would be around $1,400 to $1,600 to repair the AC coil. They stated the coil was no longer made and would have to order a retro-fit. When I read the contract from CHW it states they will not repair AC units that have had retro-fit equipment. So I called CHW and asked to speak to the resolution department. I told them I had another AC repair service company look at the AC. They recommended I have the second AC company call them and give their finding.
The second AC company stated the coil had failed from time (unit is 23 years old) and normal wear and tear. I spoke to CHW resolution manager and told him my AC repair company had called and told them the failure was due to time and wear and tear. The CHW resolution supervisor stated he was a former AC technician and stated the coils are charged with a refrigerant of R-22 which is caustic and causes the coils to rust from inside out over time.
Since the unit is 23 years old, I stated this is time-related failure of wear and tear. He stated their policy excludes failure from rust. So I asked if they know the coils are charged with a caustic refrigerant, then CHW does not warrant coils which is not specifically excluded. He stated CHW does cover the coils but not from rust. How could this be as the coils are charged with a caustic refrigerant? His denial made no sense as Choice Home Warranty is just hiding behind small print to deny the claim. I will never recommend them again to a client.

I have Choice Home Warranty and have had them for about 2 years and 2 months. I had to call them about my air conditioner and the repairman came out and said it had leaked all the freon out. He called Choice and they said "just fill it again." NOT to fix it or replace it, repairman explained that's the way they are and wasn't happy with their company anyway. So I was very disappointed in Choice. Still have the leak in the air. SECOND: I had to call them out on my dishwasher, the repairman was here twice, I did everything the repairman told me to do and if that didn't work to call him again. Needless to say it didn't work and I had to call him again!! He then called Choice and told them my control panel on the dishwasher was bad. I had a top of the line stainless inside dishwasher, KitchenAid, and the repairman told them it'd cost $176 to replace the control panel.
Choice said NO, and the repairman told me ahead of time they'd say that and then offer me a really low price, not a new one!! Then Choice called me right after the repairman left and said they would mail me a check for $250... I was so angry, my dishwasher was 3 years old and a top of the line product. I asked aren't they supposed to replace it with one comparable with the one I have? They said no, again said they'd send me a check for $250!! I'm retired and I cannot afford to buy a good dishwasher on the SSI I get every month. They are exactly what the 2 repairmen told me, they're useless and cheap!! They said they don't even pay them what they're worth as repairmen and they cheat the customers all the time. So I will not renew with them and they have emailed me and called me many times this past 2 months and I've told them NO I'M NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER WITH THEM AND TO QUIT CALLING ME!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL!!

I received a call from a salesman based on a online inquiry. He provided quotes for the coverage, which were decent and less than my current warranty program. I explained that my AC unit didn't work and needed it repaired. The salesman said that I could file a claim, but would have to wait after the 30 day wait period to have the AC repaired (on a recorded line) I advised the salesman that I wanted to reach out to Sears to see if they would meet the cost. The salesman lowered the deductible even more if I signed up today, which I did.
After the 30 day wait period, I called to file claim and was told it was pre-existing. But the salesman was advised and said I had to wait 30 days to have it fixed, of course to close the sale. After speaking with management, they apologized that the salesman lied and was deceiving, but could not honor the repair. I had to pay a cancellation fee to the prior warranty group because I cancelled. Had I known this was all a lie, I would have had them repair it and not waited 30 days.

This was our first time using this home warranty. Once we got past a lengthy wait on the phone, it was all better than expected. Memorial Day and hot - A/C went out. They contacted EAZY BREEZY Heating and Air in Tucson. This company called us back within an hour. The very next day we had a new A/C motor installed by the friendliest company we ever dealt with and at zero cost. Happy we have this.

I was very pleased with the response to my a/c unit not cooling. After my initial call my problem was fixed within 24 hrs. It was a holiday weekend and I was surprised that it was taken care of that efficiently. Thank you Choice Home Warranty.
