    I have a service fee credit from a different repair at another property I own. When I mentioned the service fee credit to the gentleman who answered my call, I was informed that he couldn't give me the credit because it wasn't the same property. I told him that what did it matter which property I used the credit on. He continued to tell me he was not allowed to do the credit, was there anything else he could help me with.

    Our dishwasher is not recalled. It is not a manufacturer's defect according to the manufacturer. It is a mechanical failure that was in a class action suit that is not cost effective to fix per the manufacturer and Choice will do nothing.

    Our new furnace (4 days old) stopped working on Friday night around 5 pm. It was 11 degrees outside. We filed the claim on-line and next day we got an e-mail from Choice telling us a service person would visit us on Tuesday. Uh, let's get this straight...you want us to wait 3 days in freezing temperatures for our heat to work?!? REALLY? Fortunately the company that installed the furnace was more responsive and came out the next day to repair. And we had an electric space heater for one room. BUT, who would have paid for frozen water lines, etc? Makes me really wonder about this company and their values. Sure it was over a holiday, but emergency measures should NOT be an option.

    Be warned. Choice Home Warranty company consistently looks for any reason to deny your claims. I have had 4 claims denied for unrealistic reasons. This time my water heater went out. Choice said it was because the interior tank on my 10 year old water heater started to leak. They advise that no coverage was avail because the tank is not a major component. Without the tank you don't have a water heater. They are terrible and the attorney general is investigating them in New Jersey. Hope they all go to jail.

    Choice Home Warranty is the worst warranty company on this planet. Have filed two claims and not one was covered. Tech called and the representative from Choice flat out told them they don't cover water heaters at all. I have canceled my warranty cause they suck. Don't waste your time with these people. Another thing is I paid $1260 for 3 years and only getting back $680 for 5 months of coverage they did not cover. Don't waste your money or effort in this company because they false advertise and don't cover anything at all. They will take your money and run.

    I urge all to read the contract before you sign. Clearly on the website they state that water heaters are covered, however I found out two days before Christmas that they are not. After being on hold for 57 minutes to speak to an actual person, I was told that they don’t cover the tank, leaks or a melted safety switch although they did offer me a few months coverage free. Too little far too late. In addition, the vast majority of vendors they use are not of the highest quality. I urge extreme caution!

    Your company serviced, called and sent the wrong plumber out that doesn't have any tools to do any leak detection! Now I have to wait and now the problem still exists! Even if I turn my main off, I'm still using water through my meter! Whoever did my service call got the service order wrong! It's a leak not a stoppage!! My water bill is going up so, I don't know what to do. Now you need to send the right plumber out that has the right tools! The plumber still required me to pay the $45 service fee and nothing was done! That's a bad way to make money and I expect that to be refunded!

    I submitted a claim to repair my Whirlpool dishwasher. The repair guy failed to do anything but look at the machine. Then I get an offer over the email of cash of less than a third of the cost of the same brand dishwasher. I then requested the Choice Warranty to install a new dishwasher instead of cash but they refused since a comparable unit can't be obtained for the amount of cash offered.

    I have logged 35 calls within 30 days from 732-379-5979, 732-39-5309 and other similar phone numbers. I tell them each time I am not interested in the insurance, I then ask them to put me on their no call list. I also advise them of the repeated calls from Choice Home Warranty that has become very stressful for me. The salesmen are extremely rude and make remarks to me like, “We just doing our job” or “I don't consider these calls harassing at all” and then they start to giggle to poke fun at me, the minute I hang up the phone, the same person on someone from the same area immediately calls back over and over again.

    I have the phone records to prove this. I have since block these numbers but they use so many different numbers it is impossible to block them all, I am hoping someone from Choice Home Warranty corporate office sees this review and do something about the harassing sales calls. Due to the annoying sales call I am advising all my connections to never deal with Choice Home Warranty.

    Woke up this morning to my basement having water all through it and determined it was my hot water heater so since I've had Choice Home Warranty for 5 years I called them to make a claim. Surprisingly I got a call within hours. They had set up an appointment and were coming within hours. I was ecstatic for the quick response because of my 3 claims this has never happened before. Techs show up and determine yes the hot water tank is busted so they call CHW back to get approval to install a new hot water heater in and after several back and forth calls with them the tech comes back to me and said, "All good we can install it."

    So they proceed to take the old hot water heater out and had gotten me a new one and about 30 minutes out I get a phone call from a supervisor from CHW and she says the tank wasn't covered and they weren't paying for it! Well needless to say I'm irate and the tech who is here is baffled so he talks to her and she gives him some BS answer on how the person he talked to was wrong and shouldn't of said to proceed with the job, but that didn't do me any good because they had already started the job now. What choice do I have but to have them finish.

    What turned out what was suppose to cost me 45$ turned in to 1020$. So upset I called back again and supposedly they are having someone higher up call me back. One thing is my phone records all my calls so I have him on tape saying to go ahead and put tank in. Stay clear from this company. Will do anything to get out of paying for a fix.

    I have had a contract with CHW for about 7 months and from the beginning, it seemed like I started having all kinds of problems. First, the ice maker and septic tank starting having issues. They did not have a local vendor for my ice maker but allowed me to choose a local repairman and they reimbursed me with no problem. My contract did not cover pumping the septic tank but they did refer someone that could handle that issue for me. No lie, within 30 to 45 days later, our furnace went out. Again, CHW did not have a local vendor for this type of issue but told me I could find a vendor on my own, which I did.

    After the repairman diagnosed the problem and spoke with a claims representative from CHW, they approved the repair over the phone. The repair cost to replace the control module was $890 which they approved with no problem. This type of issue is not covered under regular homeowner's insurance and had I not had Choice Home Warranty, that would have been a costly hit to my budget. I still have a bit over 1 year left until my policy expires. If you are thinking about whether or not you should make the small investment to buy this type of policy, take it from someone who has been through it. The first repair paid for the entire premium for a year on this policy. MONEY WELL SPENT!!!

    I placed a call on 10/11/17 and the company came out on 10/12/2017 and replaced the garage door opener. Now as of 12/15/17 it has stopped working. I place a call for this. That is the 2 number and I was told that I have to pay 45.00 for another service call. This is not fair to me. The state of Maryland gives you 90 days for a refund to return something. My service call was not complete as far as I am concerned. Please look into and let me know. I wold like to hear from you.

    I have paid into this warranty company for over a year and no claims. Recently my hot water tank stopped working like any other normal home. Claim was denied instantly. They state in fine print that they cover only parts that lead up to the tank. The tank is not covered for anyone. Like any other homeowners see Hot Water Tank under coverages, and I believed I was covered. No one ever stated clearly that this was not. This company truly lies in its advertisement of services.     We just recently signed up for these services. It is our first repair situation and after more than 24 hours they can't come up with someone to come do the repair on our washer! They want to know if I want to line someone up, have them call the warranty company. When they come, explain the problem, then they have to do repairs. I have to pay for the repair and they will take 30 days to reimburse us! If I hadn't paid $450 to join this extended warranty I could pay to have it done! Looks like I may be cancelling this deal and getting a refund.

    This was our first claim with Choice and we were very happy with the results. Our garbage disposal went on the fritz so I filled out a claim online Saturday morning. By Saturday evening they updated us to let us know they were looking for a contractor to take care of the problem. They did offer us a choice of waiting until they found one, or selecting our own. Since it was only the garbage disposal, we elected to let them find the Plumber.

    On Monday we were notified by email and voice message that a Plumber had been located and an appointment had been scheduled. The message gave us the name of the Plumber, address, and phone number in case we had to reschedule or wanted to call to verify the appointment. The Plumber showed up early for the appointment and within an hour or so, we had a new garbage disposal installed. We're very happy with Choice as well as their selection of the Plumber. He was very professional and cleaned up afterwards. Excellent service. No hassles and no worries.

    I signed up for Choice after seeing an ad. The salesman on the phone promised a $50 deductible, for homeowners repair insurance. He insisted on receiving my credit card to make the 1st payment, and my checking for monthly payments. When I received the policy, it was higher than quoted, and the deductible was $100. I called and told them I would not be signing up. I did not sign the contract, but they took out the payment from my credit card, and then 2 months later, they took out $70.26 from my checking account. Still trying to get it back. I do not recommend this company.

    I had a furnace go out at my rental property a couple weeks ago and C & C repaired it, but also recommended I get someone with the equipment to check for CO2. He did not have the equipment to do that. When our Dishwasher went out at home, C & C was assigned again. While talking I told him there were 4 kids living at the rental property. He said, "If the furnace goes out again, call me day or night, because I don't want those kids to be cold." "Get things fixed first and we can deal with Choice later as they will understand."

(Our dishwasher was 16 years old and not worth the cost of repair, but Choice gave me a very fair cash settlement toward a new one.) If I can get C & C when I need help, Choice would be doing themselves and me a big service as the service is great. Quality repairs, quick response time, and fair costs or cash settlements to me.     This is worst warranty company ever. House heat doesnt work. After we called them, they made us wait for 4 days send somebody. Who doesnt know what he was doing even doesnt have multimeter to check system. He also just broke working door switch, left everything messed up. And gave wrong info saying valve problem which wasnt true. I called CHW. Told them he's wrong about diagnosis. Send someone else who really has HVAC knowledge. I've called and contractor find real problem which under coverage, now they dont wanna pay full invoice only half. This is second time I was going to use warranty. They sent their service guy out and he says to me that my compressor is not working properly and had to be replaced. When it is not viable to repair, Old Republic provide money based on the value of exact model. Choice Home, on the other hand, use national average value regardless how much you paid for your unit.     I bought 4 home warranties for each of my homes in different areas. Each time I had an issue they sent someone out that 1. they didn't know how to repair. 2. they require you to prove you kept it serviced or they don't reimburse you, I learned and then proved I had each serviced then they refuse to reimburse me. I fought for over 8 months first through email, then faxed it, then mailed the hard copy in, because they said they never received it. I have a voice recording from "their AC guy" telling me that they never pay. He has been doing this for them for several years and only once had they paid.

    I bought my appliances new and they are six years old. I had a terrible experience with Choice Home Warranty with my refrigerator which took over a month (counter depth GE Profile). Now my washing machine has stopped working (LG WaveForce with Smart Diagnosis). On 11/24/17 a repairman came and diagnosed the problem with the washing machine. He said it takes 3-5 days to get the part in and he was letting Choice Home Warranty know that day. It is now 10 days later since they were asked to order the part and Choice Home Warranty said the part was shipped and they cannot locate it.

    I have had many things shipped during my life and I know that whenever you ship anything that you are given a tracking number so that you know where the shipped item is until it is received. Choice Home Warranty clearly either never ordered the part or they are trying to get out of fixing the washer by pretending they are too stupid to call the shipping company and ask about the part. Choice Home Warranty claims that they are authorized by ConsumerAffairs, so I would like for you to know how horribly they treat their customers.

I also have messaged them through their website a number of times recently asking them to stop and they still send them. I do not even live on the same continent as this company, and I am not a homeowner, so what would I do with any of their products?     Tried to pay off contract and add a year. Wound up with new contract. 1st thing wrong was address next is contract date. They changed the date from 12/9/2017 to 12/30/2017. Not what I wanted. I asked at the begin if the date would stay the same. Was told yes. 3 more phone call later was told, "Yes am changing the date back to the 9th." Still waiting for email confirmation and copy of contract. Took money right a way. Wasted 3 hours so far trying to get this resolved.     I got an email from Choice for a $375 contract with $45 service fees. then I got about 12 calls within three days (crazy annoying). When I decided to take one of the calls, the rep offered me a $400 contract with $60 service fees. (Really?) When I explained I'd already been offered a better deal, he made this excited explanation about how he could offer me a great deal! Which was the same one I'd already been quoted. (Wow buddy, thanks so much for taking 15 mins of my time to give me the same info I got in 30 seconds from that email). But whatever, I figure I've got the guy on the phone, I might as well get the contract I was looking at. EXCEPT, the service guy then tried to upsell me on a five year contract, which I turned down THREE times. The third time he refused to listen to my "no" I hung up... only to receive an email saying that I had purchased a $400 contract with $60 service fee charges. W.T.F.

    I immediately emailed back saying that I did not want this contract, and wanted my money refunded. I also spent an hour being transferred to different agents on the phone (called 1-888-531-5403). After I was put on hold for half an hour, I finally heard the call starting to go through... and was immediately hung up on... so I call back again. I select the option to have you call me when an agent is available. Guess what? No one ever called. You might guess that I'm extremely angry and disgusted with your company. And I do not want to do business with you. I guess I'll have to try calling again to get out of this contract I did not approve.

    I have used Choice Home Warranty for a couple of years now. I have never had to do a claim with the company. The first claim that I filed was for a air conditioner. I am by trade a Electronics Technician with 20 years of experience. The condenser motor was shorted to ground. I was with the Choice Home Warranty tech when he troubleshot the motor. I even assisted with test equipment to help him with this. I received a call from Choice Home Warranty a day or two later stating that they would not cover this repair. They proceeded to tell me that the only way that a motor shorts to ground is because it overheats. This is not correct in any way shape or from. They then insisted that was what their Tech had found when he inspected my AC the other day.

    I called their tech and spoke with him, he informed me that was not what he said. He simply told them that the compressor motor was shorted to ground. I then paid for another tech to come out to the house. He inspected the AC, both him and I took extra care to look over the equipment. There was no sign of overheating or any signs of other damage. The Circuit Breaker for the motor had worked correctly and tripped when I was suppose to. I then listened to the phone call from the tech that I hired to Choice Home Warranty, Choice kept trying to get him to tell them, that the motor had overheated, the tech insisted that there was no signs of overheating, tampering or any other issues that he could see. My tech then ended the phone call.

    I called back to Choice Home Warranty to check on the status of my claim. I was shocked to hear them tell me on the phone that my tech had agreed with them that the motor had overheated. So this was a complete and total LIE. I then started to ask for managers to speak with. This resulted in days of going back and forth with Choice Home Warranty. At the end, I was sent a check for $250.00 for labor. Needless to say, this did not cover even 1/4 of the total cost of labor. I do not recommend this company. I later spoke with the AC company that works for Choice Home Warranty, he informed me that the State of Texas was looking into them for charges. He had been contacted by several state departments.

    Called on a Sunday to place a service call for a leak near the pressure regulator valve. Reduces pressure from street from approx 150psi to about 50psi so plumbing fixtures and pipes will not burst. When I placed call I explained what I thought was the problem area and they opened a claim number and told me their contracted plumber would schedule a service call.

    24 hours later their contracted plumber called and said it would be Saturday at best before he could make it out. I called back Choice and indicated the problem again and told them that their plumber could not make the Thursday appointment and also that he said if the whole house pressure was too high I would run the risk of more serious issues if not addressed quickly.

    After explaining the issues again Choice Warranty indicated I could call another plumber to get faster service. Again I explained the problem and they emailed me the "claim reimbursement form". After indicating what the problem was and where the leak appeared to be coming from a new company arrived next day. At no time after three or four calls to Choice Warranty company was there any indication that it would not be covered.

    Well after the new plumbing company arrived and called their pre-approval desk as to what was wrong... and after I paid $385 for the repair... Choice Warranty denied the claim indicating the fine print excluded the repair. Again no indication until the new plumber arrived... and no indication on the previous 4 calls. Would NOT do business with this company.

    I recently purchased a new home with a home warranty from Choice Home Warranty. After moving in, I noticed a water leak on the kitchen counter and doorway. It happened whenever the upstairs bathroom was being utilized. Feeling fortunate to have had a home warranty in place, I immediately called CHW. They set up an appointment for me with a local plumber to assess the problem.

    The leak was a result of a bad pipe that needed to be replaced. CHW requested photographs and spoke with the plumbers and determined that the leak was NOT covered under the policy. The cost of the repair was $770 dollars (which I understand was quite reasonable). The warranty was supposed to supply me with peace of mind, instead it delivered nothing. I would advise consumers to avoid this company at all cost, and do thorough research before buying a home warranty.

    When my order was originally placed, it was sent to the company AirPlumb that I have had a previous poor experience with over the summer when they were unable to successfully fix my air conditioner. The Choice Home Warranty employee that took my call was able to resubmit my claim to another service provider. My only complaint is that my tenant, Lavinia **, did not receive a call or e-mail confirmation to let her know when her scheduled appointment was, so it was lucky that she was home when the contractor arrived. I was disappointed that Choice would not cover the gas control valve that was also non-functioning, but at least the control board was replaced. Overall, good experience.

    The garage door will not close with the remote. Choice Warranty sent a technician very quickly, but unfortunately the problem could not be recreated when the technician arrived. The problem still persists. I was not going to be around for the next few weeks so I asked for an extension to address the issue but was told that there are no exceptions. I only have a month from the initial service call for them to address the issue. After that I have to submit another ticket. Hopefully the issue will get resolved and I won't have to pay for another service call.

    I purchased the warranty after relentless and impressive sales pitch. A couple of months into the warranty my tenant called me that washer was making noise. Choice Home Warranty sent a repair person and I paid $45 copay. The repair was estimated at $1000 (?!) according to Choice Home Warranty. Choice Home Warranty said it was a pre-existing condition and the appliance could not have turned bad within two months of coverage. How would anyone say that an unknown condition as pre-existing is beyond me.

    I requested for cancellation of the policy. There is drama there also. You call a number and then you go interminable wait time trying to cancel your policy to save you from more loss. Then, I was offered $150 toward the repair to keep as a customer even though the repair cannot be covered. I told the representative that any future repair can be denied as preexisting condition as it is arbitrarily determined by the company. If it is a mechanical repair it seems it would be pre-existing as mechanical repairs do not happen in two or three months. This company sells policies that do not help you when you need them. I lost a little over $100 with this company but I learned a lesson that hopefully save a few people from becoming prey to unreliable sales pitch.
