On October 30th, 2017, I called Choice Home Warranty because my heater was not working. I was scheduled for an appointment for Tuesday October 31st, 2017. My claim number is #**. The heater contractor Cedric ** came to my home on Tuesday October 31st at 5:00 p.m. and looked at my boiler and said that there was nothing wrong with my boiler area but I needed an electrician. I scheduled an appointment on Wednesday morning November 1st for an electrician to come out to my home, my claim number is #**. I called the electrician J. Morgan Contractors and he said he could come out on Wednesday at 1:30 but came at 5:00. When he got there he worked on my boiler for approximately 2 hours, he went to the store and bought 2 transformers and came back and started fixing on it again.
After he got frustrated because the transformers he purchased burned out, he said he had to call the company because what he needed to do was not in his contract and that they were not paying him enough money for what he had to do. He left my house with all the wires hanging and open and the boiler apart never stating that he will be back to complete the job. I called Choice Home Warranty and talked to Latasha and she stated for me to call a manager the next day. I talked to a manager on Thursday, 11/2/2017, Charmine she said that the electrician J. Morgan Contractors will be out to put my boiler back together on Friday. I waited all that day Friday for J. Morgan Contractors to call me back and he never called so I called the company back at 4:00, and talked to another Manager Gregg. Gregg got J. Morgan Contractors on the phone he stated that he will return to my house at 5:00 p.m.
When he returned to my house I thought he put all my wires back together but he didn't. I called another boiler company (Polar), spoke with Jerry and he scheduled for Saturday from 12:00 to 3:00. A contractor came out and looked at my boiler and stated that the people who worked on your boiler did not put all the wires back together and they did not want to touch my boiler or be responsible for what Choice Home Warranty started. They suggested that we call the people who installed the boiler to complete the job.
We had to call E.S.I Heating & Cooling on 11/11/17, at this point we were without heat for 3 weeks. E.S.I. Heating & Cooling fix the boiler and left the receipt for $200.00 about all they had to do to get my heat on. I am so disappointed with Choice Home Warranty because I never used this and I had them for two years. Choice Home Warranty really let me and my family down. I am asking for a refund of $200.00 to be returned to me because another company had to complete the job for Choice Home Warranty. Thanks.

I have been reviewing and shopping for Home Warranties for over a week now. Googled, the top rated companies of which you are one. I have spoken with several reps from each asking why should I buy from your company. All except Eli wanted to satisfy me by reducing the price. All are comparable in price, and all are good. Eli complemented the others while establishing Choice as the best while giving top notch service and backed up his conversation with places to go on the web for justification and written documentation. I paid more but feel good about my decision. He then exposed me to other options for savings and long term commitment. I can only hope that your service is as good as his sales professionalism.

I initially enrolled online. 3 of your representatives called me before I could Complete the app. I talked to Jake. He was helpful, I purchased the total plan. During my call I received several deals??? 25% off $65 fee? Confusing and overwhelming. I tried Calling but CS was closed.

This sales associate was a bit pushy. He was thorough, kind, understanding. I hope he wasn't just selling a lie to me. This has happened before with sales associates from Sprint. He did not understand that seniors need low payment schedules... like monthly payments. Not 3 months with $100+ payments for 3 months. Seniors get these policies because a breakdown in a home is detrimental considering the retirement money available.

The oven does not come on, gas is smelled and will not light. The repair person, was not responsive for a few days. I had to call Choice Warranty to get in touch with him. He gave us a day and time and cancelled on two occasions. As it stands today (Jan 16th 2018) it's been more than a week and problem is not resolved.

I paid for the warranty package and then realized that there was a $45 service fee for each call, so I immediately called to cancel. However, after speaking to Kevin, and explaining my concern about the service fee, I understood better about the fee, and that is all I ever have to pay. Whether they replace or repair, there aren't any added fees.

I couldn't be more pleased. The problem was fixed the day after the claim was filed. Someone from Rescue Rotor Pros came, he was extremely friendly and professional. I am so glad that we have the warranty with Choice now. We wrote a check for the co-pay and the plumber brought it back and said because it was the first claim we didn't owe anything.

I am satisfied with the value and the plan I selected for my 3 properties. However, getting to a point of decision I encountered many aggressive sales pitches responding to my online inquiry and when I made the decision to join, the same aggression with the sales pitching... I am not customary with such pointed sales with this type of service and it is a turn off. My expectation is more of a warm and inviting interaction to ensure I select what I need according to my budget, not to be pitched 5 times in one conversation. I almost hung up, but instead I advised the rep to slow down, he was taking me too fast... I felt like I was buying a used car and begin to question the product and was I really getting a good deal. It’s important to be able to trust a company that offers what you offer. After all of that, I only received notice of one contract and had to call this morning to get the other two...

Your sales rep. Nathan was over bearing. He did not listen well & preferred to “pressure sell”. I choose your home warranty because the price was far lower than your competitors. If the price between the competitors was closer I would have definitely taken my business elsewhere. One time deals “take it now or lose it” are professionally discourteous & demeaning. I certainly hope your service is better than my sales experience.

My garage door will not close. It was recorded as a garage door opener that didn't work. I have a garage door open in very cold temperatures plus no way to lock the garage for safety. Having to wait 3 days and the company you are sending wouldn't even call me back. Not a safe situation.

Choice Home Warranty is the most egregious company I have ever had the displeasure of working with. They lie, cheat and create falsehoods to get out of paying for repairs that are clearly covered under the contract. They are the first company in my life that has driven me to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

I called over weekend and snow storm in area. Choice contacted me right away and within 4 hours a company called and left me schedule to repair for Wed. But they came today on Monday and fixed my dryer. They were excellent and I feel blessed to have Choice Warranty and am telling all my friends. Thank you so much. In a time of bad news it is good that some companies stand by their word.

Thank you for allowing our first home warranty claim be very good. We were at first denied, I called Choice back was very upset with this decision. After speaking to the representative he understood my situation and made it work. I am an agent and have lots of warranty companies trying to get my business. I chose Choice since our company has them as one of our preferred vendors. I also adore our sales agent that has continually worked on getting my clients. I will continue to encourage my clients to choose this company.

Customer service good, but I have problem. Their choice of selecting companies for repairs, my repair request since January 1st 2018 for HVAC outside fan, they sent multiple emails company names and their telephone numbers. But nobody shows up their given time, if you call them they don't answer nor they call you back, still waiting for technician. My experience with Choice Home Warranty is very bad. I will never fall for their sweet talk.

Kevin was courteous & professional. I can't think of any more I can say other than CHW has in the past virtually encouraged me to cancel my contract because of the hoops it makes me jump through every time I have a claim. Each time CHW appears to look for any reason to deny the claim, by having the contractor take photos showing dirt, dust, etc. in order to justify it denying coverage due to "customer neglect".

Called Choice Home Warranty. Put a claim in. Never got an email or service call to any technicians. Called again to check the status. They said they couldn't help me because I already had a existing claim. When you make a choice in getting a home warranty, don't go with these idiots. Choose someone else. After all you have another CHOICE. (American Home Shield) same price and always discounts. Customer service, Value, And what coverage? 0 rating on everything they stand.

Furnace has been broken since November. The first technician that came, covered, but didn’t fix it. Second guy that came, never submitted paperwork. Third technician evaluated the situation, and they denied my claim. If it was covered, and their technician couldn’t fix it, then how is that my fault, and now my claim suddenly isn’t covered? The only thing they held true to was taking my money. Terrible!

Just made a claim and waiting for a response. My renewal date is 2/15/2018. I will renew once I see how this claim is handled. We had service before and had a problem that took a long time to resolve.

The temperature here was in the 100's and the a/c went out at one of our rental units. I filed a claim on the computer that evening and Choice had a repair man there the next mid-morning. It was fixed and we have a very happy renter. This is about the 4th time we've filed a claim with Choice and they have always been extremely fast and very nice to deal with.

Your virtual chat person was not effective. You hit the call me msg. and then it dialed your phone which then disconnected. The address for the home covered was incorrect. I was on 'hold' for approx. 20 min. to get it corrected-which I hope it did correct it.

You don't cover frozen pipes. I'm shocked to discover that you do not cover the normal wear and tear caused by weather. What the hell do you cover? We used this warranty for the first time on 1/12/2018. We purchased the warranty in June 2017. We submitted a claim online, which was not easy to find on the website after we called the phone number to be told ‘they were experiencing unusually long wait times’. We received a call back ~30 minutes later confirming an appointment for Tuesday, January 16 between 11am and 3pm. 72 hours seems highly excessive considering we reported a leak and water had saturated our upstairs carpet!

I'm a Realtor. I offer Home Warranties on some of the homes I sell. My office gets solicitations from numerous Home Warranty companies. I compared the prices between the companies and this one beat the other companies by a significant amount. Ordering it was a breeze and took me maybe 2 minutes tops. I highly recommend.

This company is horrible! I never make complaints but I felt that it was necessary if this will help someone. I'm still waiting for someone to come fix an issue in my home that is supposed to be covered through my warranty. One company quit because they said they no longer want to work with Choice because they're very messy. I had to agree, messy is bit of an understatement. Companies in my area do not want to work with them so I'm assuming this may be why it's taking so long to get the problem fixed.
When asked what was taking so long to get someone out they said no contractor was available because of heavy workload. That could be true but meanwhile I'm still stuck with this electrical problem, not to mention they had me on hold for almost a hour... Frustrating. Again still waiting for my claim to be accepted by a contractor. I went with them because they had good reviews and good prices but I was fooled and made a major mistake by choosing this company. Would not recommend to anyone.

My furnace went out one week after I moved into my home. Over one month later, my children and I are still without heat. Choice Home Warranty sent two techs out that did not even service the type of furnace that I have. One tried to do something to it and left. Finally someone capable came to fix it, but two days later, the furnace quit again. There was a part leaking oil, so the tech stated that due to the leak and the age of the furnace, he recommended replacement... First, Choice Warranty tried to claim that the leak was at the storage tank so it was not covered. I told them that didn't even make sense, because my storage tank is outside, and the leak is under my house - at the furnace.
Then, they claimed it was the lines coming from the storage tank, and since storage tanks aren't covered, it still isn't covered. The name of the person who supposedly told them that didn't even match anyone working at the HVAC company. The tech called back again and told them that they needed to stop jerking us around and again explained that the leak is at the furnace. Now they are denying the claim because there is hazardous material involved which excludes it from coverage. Any oil or gas furnace involves hazardous materials, so they could use that excuse to get out of paying for most furnaces.

Today 1/12/18 I got through (finally) to agent Charles without too long of a wait. However for four (4) days previous I made several attempts, at different times, to speak with a live person to submit a claim. I tried going online as well, but all I could accomplish there was to get a sales person who only wanted to sell me a contract, which of course, I already had/have. He was helpful in as much as he transferred me over to the claims extension but then I had a long wait again. I was not able to submit a claim online??? The system kept taking me the sales portal. I need the service my contract provides when I have an issue with a covered item/system. However long wait times are quite inconvenient and most especially a waste of minutes if on a cell phone. Today's customer service was good, your wait times need improvement.

Electrician came the same day. He was diligent in investigating the problem and was able to resolve the issue. Very professional service. He not only replaced the GFI but replaced a cracked outlet that he found in the investigation process. I felt very comfortable that he was knowledgeable and capable. I would definitely recommend Choice Warranty company.

Blower went out on heater unit 12 years old. Denied claims because of lack of service on blower. How do you do service on blower in a sealed unit. Not a service item. Claimed blower dirty caused failure. Had condensation dirt on fan not motor as all AC do. Coils have been cleaned at each yearly services by AC company. Beware. They have a preset list on how to refuse repair always. Will repair tech not trained and unprofessional.

Had been with Choice for about a month and a half. My fridge stopped cooling. Called them up, a technician came to check it out. He said the problem was an electrical board, so he was going to order it. A couple of days later, he showed up. They had sent him the wrong board. A couple of more days Choice called me. The technician had said the compressor had a leak and they did not cover that or the replacing of Freon. This was a total lie since the technician had said he could not check the compressor because he needed the electrical board to turn on the fridge. So, I got angry and demanded my money back which was $608.00 plus the $45.00 I paid the technician because he never the fridge.
Their reply all I was getting was one hundred and fifty some dollars. When I asked why? They were charging me for the electrical board and so on. In the first place I did not received the electrical board the technician's company did and I don't have the electrical board the technician's company does. Yes they are cheap but read their policies real good. They cover a lot of appliances but the main things that make the appliance work are not covered. I'm going to contact the main office headquarters to see if I can get my money back which I doubt. These companies are real sneaky.

My agent made a great attempt to sign me and found a few discounts to make the deal. The background noise was a huge distraction and gives the impression of a mass produced operation. This needs to be addressed. The agent kept pushing for a long term commitment even after I told him several times that as a new customer I wanted to see how this warranty worked before I extend my coverage at any price.

So far my experience getting coverage has been great. They understood what my particular needs were and gave me what I needed without a problem. I haven't had to utilize their services yet but the cost is very reasonable and the service fee for each visit is very reasonable also.

We have been with a major competitor for the life of our home and the service and care has declined severely. Out of sheer frustration I looked up Choice - read the reviews and took a chance to find a better company. Wayne ** went out of his way to not only find the best possible solution for my mother's budget... he was human. He understood our needs and really feel comfortable and we made the move... this sale is made on what if's and I am confident that we have made the right choice. The only thing I can say good about Choice Warranty is that the salesperson who convinced me to drop AHS and switch to Choice was brilliant. She sold me so well that my sister in DC switched also. She has better sense than I do, she has switched back to AHS. Each claim we have submitted has been a struggle. Even emergency are not responded to timely. I had a toilet overflowing and was asked to wait 2 days for a repair person. I ended up hiring a company to come out that day to perform the repairs. I have an electrical issue in my daughter's room. We were told that Choice would pay for the part that was inside the ceiling but they would not pay for the work it took to get to that part nor would they pay for the replacing the parts damaged to get to the covered part.
In September, I submitted a claim regarding my ceiling fan. No one called me to say anything. When I checked the status it said to call for more details. I was told that Choice would not cover a light bulb. I told your representative that if it was the light bulb, I certainly would not need to pay a surcharge for a $5 bulb. When I have a problem with the faucet in the kitchen, I ended up paying the guy $260 to replace it. He said that Choice didn't cover the cost of the new faucet. This policy is really a joke. It really doesn't matter that your company charges less than AHS if every claim I submit is denied.

He's a very good salesman; my realtor had recommended your company also has the 3 yr. package and raved about what good service she got when her washing machine broke and 'Choice' replaced it with a brand new machine.

They suppose to be emailing me someone to fix my oven and Choice gone email saying can I forget and Safiyyah me one to fix my oven. You all do bad business. How you gone advertise that you just as good as American Home Shield and you can’t get a vendor to fix my oven. Bad business.

I just signed up for Choice Home Warranty, so I can't really comment on all areas of their customer service just yet. However, I will say that the process of establishing this service was extremely easy and quick. The representative helping me was friendly and very helpful. Based on my experience so far, I will definitely recommend Choice Home Warranty.

01-10-2019 I was purchasing the total warranty, gave my credit number and almost done when sales person tried to sell me a 3 yr warranty. I told him NO several times. The sale person went ahead and charge me after telling him no several times. PLEASE CANCEL THIS WARRANTY! I PROMISE TO NEVER CALL THIS COMPANY AGAIN.

Choice Home Warranty does not have anyone who can fix my garage door or refrigerator, rather, Choice Home Warranty wants me to find someone myself, pay for it myself, and then submit a claim form and wait for reimbursement. Choice Home Warranty did not have a problem selling me a warranty, but they have a problem finding technicians.

Don't purchase a policy from this company. They have not covered any claims that have been submitted. One claim, my dishwasher, they gave me $165.00 to replace my dishwasher, without an option to have it repaired. This company is a rip-off. If you are looking for a home warranty company, use a different company. I know three people that also have home warranty policies, and their claims are all paid.

I have contact with Choice Warranty. My cooktop could not be fix. The ofter to give me 300.00 dollars. Parts were not available. Found a new cooktop for 1731.00 at appliance store in Huntsville, AL. They said they would noted anything but give me the money, I said, "Send me the check so I could get on with my cooktop." They said it would be 30 days or more before they could proceed with the check. They would not replace my cooktop. Think their warranty is worth the paper it is written on.

Be sure to read the fine print because they basically don't cover anything. Of the 5-6 claims I filed, only 1 was covered. I wasted money and they didn't fix anything, just took my money for the service calls only to tell me that what I needed done wasn't covered. If interested in more, my A/C repairman even said that is was fraud the way they sold me on their coverage yet wouldn't cover anything.

If that is the case they should retain additional service call operators, however, they do direct you to the website to place a claim. This was easy to do and straightforward. The website has a "view status of claim" hyperlink that you can follow its processing status. I have yet to see how fast the processing is carried out since my request is loss of refrigerator.

Scheduling service request thru online was very simple and took less than 2 minutes. Received acknowledge email almost immediately and service appointment was scheduled within a day. Service Rep call and confirmed the appointment and did the service inspection within time, ordered part and gave estimated time and the next step to replace the part. I want to cancel. You are not with BBB plus I was told I would be charged $350 and I was charged $400, and I was suppose to get $45. On service according to email and I was charged $60. My dryer stopped working on 12/30, so I placed a claim with CHW. They assigned the claim to a company that was supposed to arrive between 3:00 and 8:00 pm. They arrived at 8:15 pm. The technician did no troubleshooting, but said I needed a new connection for the dryer to the gas line. He proceeded to ask me if I wanted to go with him to Walmart to get the parts. Then wanted to know where my husband was (I live alone). After not fixing the original problem, he left saying the dryer was working fine. A day later, it stopped again because it had never been fixed.
I called CHW, told them it wasn't fixed and that I didn't want the original person to come out because he was inappropriate. They reassigned the claim to a ghost company (no presence online, not even Google) who no-called, no-showed times. I had to take off work and had received email confirmation for all 3 appointments. So CHW reassigned my claim yet again. It has been almost 2 weeks since I've had a working dryer, and I still don't have a solution. This has been a waste of my time, energy, and money. I will be switching warranty companies when my contract expires. This is the worst customer service I have ever received.

Today when the repairman came, he explained Choice would order the parts and I would have to reschedule an appointment to repair my dryer. I could be a week without my dryer. I do laundry for my brother in a nursing home, so now I will have To go to a laundry. This summer I called Choice Warranty because my air conditioner stop working during the night. I had to cancel my order due to the fact it would be three days before a repairman would be here. Now I realize it would been longer if parts had to be ordered. Due to my Mom's health I had to call a repairman myself and pay full price. Not sure what good Choice Warranty is. I would not recommend them to anyone. I'm going to cancel as soon as my contract expires. Very disappointed!

I have the optional coverage on the icemaker. My ice cubes were coming out with dirt in them or on them. Very disgusting! I'm told I need a new water valve to the tune of $168. So why should I have optional coverage??? Each time I called I had to wait on the phone for over half an hour but once I got through to them, they moved quickly. This was only the second claim I have ever made.

I had a technician here and neither of us were able to get through to speak with someone after the technician put in the request online and was sent an email stating to call a number to provide more information from the homeowner. After both of us getting hung up on numerous times after being put on hold an hour later he was able to speak with someone who could not grant anything to be covered because they needed a home inspection report but did not provide me with any info on who or what fax number I am supposed to send it to. At this point I am fed up with the customer service I received. I will not be renewing this service. What a joke. I have yet to be able to speak with anyone from this company. If you like sitting on hold for long periods of time and being hung up it’s great!

Because I know you can have up to three items looked at during a trip, but she didn't ask if I had any other issues. Once I put in a complaint, I receive a quick turn around for an appointment for that appointment to be changed a few times before the actual arrival date. Once they arrived then the part had to be ordered which took about 2 weeks while my senior tenant sat in the cold. The company did not try to put a rush on it. They came with an attitude on the day to fix the issue. A day or two later the same issue broke again. They had to be recalled back again. I have not had a good experience with the companies that get my order keeping the first appointment date given. I seem to receive many emails changing the dates which is quite frustrating. For a customer wants their issue cared for as soon as possible.

I had 5 inches of drain water come into my furnished basement and called home warranty for help. They helped me pay part of two bills by reimbursements I filed for after I cleaned up some of the mess. Although I still must pay the $45 fee for service I still was grateful for the coverage above that which I expect to receive this month. It takes 30 days after approval for the amount to be sent.

I had to wait for over 15 minutes for a representative. I finally hung up and decided to use the on-line service. I have a portion of the house with a bedroom with no power. Today is Sunday. The service technician did not coordinate a scheduled time and I was assigned an appointment that has been scheduled for Thursday January 11th, 2018 between the hours of 11:00 AM and 03:00 PM without any input from me. This appointment was sent to my spam email, and is 4 1/2 days away.

Leaking at top of heater at connector. Rep says not covered, she couldn't explain it satisfactorily to me why it's not covered. She says since tank is leaking, CHW doesn't cover the connector at top where it's leaking. I've got 3 contracts with ya'll and have recommended CHW to my son who has 3 rent houses and has contracts on file. I'm VERY dissatisfied with the "grey" areas on what is covered and what isn't. I had a similar experience this past summer on an air conditioner issue with CHW that didn't turn out well, also. Bottom line, when my contracts are up this year, I'll most definitely will look around for another warranty company.

I bought the Choice Home Warranty on 11/21/2017 for a home I was purchasing. I have had some repairs done on the home I am selling. The repair people were all unanimously agreeing that I should stay away from Choice Home Warranty because in their words -- "They do not cover anything and take forever to reimburse contractors if they do cover something." I decided to go to another warranty provider. I have submitted a request two times through their website to cancel my warranty. I have yet to be contacted. I am trying to do it now by phone and have been on hold for over 45 minutes! This company is pathetic and apparently dishonest!

I am entering this update today because I have been on hold for 22 minutes before someone answered my call. When I told them what I wanted to do, they said they had to transfer me to another number -- of course! :( Now I have been on hold for another 14 minutes -- so far still listening to their lies about their great service. I have dozens of policies w/ Choice for my homes. I often have to wait a very long time to get someone on the phone. Your customer service people are very friendly, but your systems are not efficient. Your emails to me do not include an address of the home in question, which makes it difficult when you have multiple policies and many open claims at once. It's an easy fix you should implement.

It takes forever for you to answer the phone. Wait times of 20 minutes do not make me feel like a "valued customer." Trying to initiate a claim, it took about 15 attempts to log-in on-line before your website recognized my account number, even though I had typed it correctly each time. I suspect your website is not properly coded to work with APPLE products.

The temperatures in Mars have been very cold (sometimes below zero) and the temperature in my home is about 50 degrees. The ladies at your facility have been very nice but have not been able to help. I called because of a water leak under my sink. I was given an appointment time for the same day between 3:00 - 8:00. I received a call when he was on his way and he arrived a little after 7:00. He looked around, took some pics with his phone and I asked him what he thought. He said that he had to get approval before he could do any work. I said ok, then he said the approval line closes at 7:00. He said someone would call me in the morning. Why have someone come at a time that they can do any work? So this morning I'm expecting a call. I just happened to check my email and see an email from Choice that they want me to call. Why not call me? What if I hadn't checked my email? I call and the wait time is 12 minutes. I followed the prompts for a call back without losing my place in line. That was 40 minutes ago. I'm about to call back now. I'll let you know how that goes...

This company, is the most horrible company I ever seen, they lie, poor customer service, rude. And they don't cover things as they promised. I had a problem with my furnace which they send their technician, (Debnam Maintenance & Hauling) who actually gave wrong diagnosis and it happened to be the breaker and leaking of the furnace. When I called back they never apologize even no efforts were made to help. Per the manager I talked to "you have to call them yourself to get your money back" I went and paid another company Express Heating who actually diagnose my system (breaker was bad, leakage in the system itself).
Called in to Home Choice Warranty who informed that they could not cover a breaker since it was not part of the furnace. My technician called and explained to them that the breaker is on the unit itself. The company Home Choice Warranty just paid labour $260 while I bought the breaker for $305, this company promises to take care of customers but actually you share the payments. They always take lesser payments and you're left with the more. Will not recommend this company to anyone out there.

I spoke with Oliver whom processed my claim this morning. He gave me very little information. Did not explain what would happen next after giving me my claim number. He said bye and have a good day. I had to ask what would happen next. He only told me that there was a 24 hour response time. I asked him who would respond, he said a technician. I asked could I add an alternate contact number, he said no because the claim was already submitted. I never had a bad experience with the exception of this. He seemed as if he just didn't care.

She had trouble locating my address. I patiently repeated it four times and she suggested that I call again the morning. I responded by suggested that didn’t have extra time tomorrow and wanted to search another way. She told me it would take a long time to search via name, etc. I asked her to transfer the call to someone else. She said that she couldn’t and that they will tell me the same. Needless to say, I ended the call and dialed back. The second Operator was great and so cheerful. She quickly filed the claim. Now, I can finally get back to work. I've had them for two years and have NEVER been able to have my broken appliances serviced without disputing their initial declined service judgment. Each occurrence has been an absolute nightmare. The companies they send are often rated very low on review sites. The gentlemen who came out today was unable to connect with Choice Home Warranty for an approval on a clogged drain line repair. After 75 minutes he left, but still had to charge me the visit fee. I've been unable to reach anyone his email or phone. Total wait time has been almost 90 minutes. I took a day off work and my refrigerator is still not working. This company is an absolute joke!

On 10/25/17 I put in my claim for a plumbing problem. There was a crack in the pipe from an upstairs toilet leaking onto the ceiling of the bedroom below. On 11/29/17 the repair was done that required a hole cut in the ceiling to access the pipe. The flange, one of the critical pieces of any such repair, was not covered by the warranty and led to lengthy delays. Eventually, thanks to the local agent, I was reimbursed for the specific part. Unfortunately the hole in the ceiling was apparently not covered by the warranty.
Thanks again to the appeals from the local agent, I am supposed to be reimbursed. If it were not for the local agent's efforts, I would rate the fewest stars possible and highly recommend this warranty be avoided much like my previous experience with American Home Shield decades ago. While in theory a home warranty seems to be a good idea, my experience with them has been nothing but frustration, work done on the cheap, and dissatisfaction with final results. Unless there is notable improvement in response with my more recent appliance claim, there is no way I would ever recommend a home warranty to anyone.

My refrigerator stopped working two days before Christmas 2017. CHW was able to locate a technician during the holiday and he was able to troubleshoot the problem on the 27th. CHW ordered the parts and he had it repaired and running on the 3rd of January. The holidays impacted the delivery of parts or it probably would have been repaired in just a matter of 4-5 days if not sooner.

Persistent and provided excellent info on home warranty coverage as well as attempted 1000% at upselling the warranty coverage for 6-years. SCAM!! SCAM!! SCAM!! It's totally scam company. They will take money and when we claim any issue they will say, "It's in exclusion list we don't cover." For example, one appliance, they have one line of inclusion list and 7 lines of exclusion list. And the parts which never fails are in inclusion. The authorization department will talk to only technician and did not talk to customer and they always update online with wrong info and they won't mention what technician tell them and decline the claim. My technician provided diagnosis in front of me and they wrote something else on the claim and declined it. This cheating dept (authorization dept) never talks to customer as they know they are cheating customers. So I totally not recommend this company. It's a SCAM!! SCAM!! SCAM!! company.

Called for service on one of my heat pumps, there was a $45.00 Service fee. When the technician checked out the heat pump, he charged me $l70.00. That was $45.00 for the service fee and $125.00 for his fee. I was told when I took out the contract that the service fee was $45.00. A Choice representative call back to say that I had not kept up preventative maintenance so would not cover the service to repair. I have Preventative Maintenance through the company that installed the system.
They service the units every six months, the last PM was done in July, which at that time they had to replace a part. So I have requested to cancel the contract, I paid $1750.00 for a five-year contract. I'm getting a new unit tomorrow. If I had stayed with AHS, they would have replaced it. I swear, each time I've called to make a claim, you automatically say that it is not covered. I have to read the policy to the agent to prove that it is covered. As in this instance, it says nothing about the arm of the garage door being excluded from the coverage, yet, as usual, you denied my claim. I will never buy your warranty again. I have 5 houses covered and cannot believe your sleazy, customary disregard for each claim made. It's never covered.

Before filing my claim online I called and yes I can understand your representatives are/were busy. However with that being said I held the line for 20-30 mins and when I spoke with your representative there was a lot of feedback in the background and before I knew it the line disconnected. I feel your representatives have our information and should clearly call the customer back instead of the customer having to call back and hold the line again for 20-30 mins.

We unfortunately had a water leakage in the attic of west wing of our house. The water leakage was in the pipe conveying hot water, I brought this to the kind attention of your associate who still maintained that it was because of freezing. At the time of leak temp in attic was 32 C. How could warm water cause leakage and rupture of the pipe. He only covered 100.00 instead of the full amount and I had to pay. $280.00 out of my pocket. Even if it is because of the freeze we are not causing it deliberately. CHW must cover rupture of pipes within the house whatever is the cause. Pls give it a second look. In fact I brought it to the associates' attention it was warm water which was gushing out when I came back from work at 1800 hrs. Pls reconcile and reconsider my claim.

When requesting the free month for a 'referral', I was told that since I had an account already for my primary residence, the added property was NOT eligible for the 'referral' free month. I was told it needed to be another name to qualify because your system could not distinguish the second property with the same last name. You need to fix your system... I will think twice about using CHW on future property acquisitions. An additional account is just that, new business, no matter what last name it is under. If that is not apparent to you perhaps another company would realize the potential.

My son purchased a condo and we got him Choice Home Warranty as a gift. Shortly after he moved in, we visited. After I did a few loads of laundry in the older, but high end washing machine, it leaked, the drum would not drain and dial would get stuck and keep ticking and not turn off. A repairman replaced the water pump and 60 dollars later (charge for the service call) the washer appeared to be working. Less than 30 days later, however, the same problem occurred... leaking, drum wouldn't drain. My son said the washer had totally stopped working and he was frustrated when he came home to visit over Christmas.
I called Choice Home Warranty and explained situation. The same repairman came out and found a sock had gotten stuck in water pump (apparently same thing as happened first time). Choice Home Warranty DENIED the repair because a FOREIGN OBJECT was cause of failure. More time on hold, more days without a washer, more inconvenience... The customer service representative kept repeating "only water should be in the pump"... no kidding!! How is a sock a foreign object in a washing machine? The appliance was being used under normal operating conditions and had already been serviced once for the same problem. I hate it when your kids are right...
My son was concerned it was not a reputable company and I hoped to prove him wrong. We trusted the reviews and purchased the policy as a safety net to protect against "costly repairs and replacement that occur when appliances are older." Sorry, I heard that phrase so many times while I waited on hold I just repeated it. My opinion is that they will look for exceptions so they don't have to cover repairs or totally replace a defective appliance. My son purchased a new washing machine, nothing fancy, and this aggravating experience is done. Maybe now we know where all the missing socks go... Be careful your money doesn't disappear down the drain as well.

This company is relentless with the renewal process. I started receiving calls to "REMIND" me about my renewal 2 months before it came up. I declined renewal not once but 4 times and asked for the calls to stop. Fast Forward to more than 4 months later. I now average 3 to 4 calls every day. I've blocked as many of the numbers as I can, since numerous ones come up. I've blocked emails, and texts. It's RELENTLESS. This company isn't about service, it's about generating policy renewals. Be very very weary of them.

I would run From this company. All they want to do is take your money. Every time you try to submit a claim they will find any reason not to cover it. I’ve had their technicians tell me same thing. Sure they might fix a toilet which costs them nothing for part but anything big forget it! I called them out twice recently for my heater and AC. Both times was denied. They found rust on part really? I bet every AC in Florida has rust. Last time it was heater and they didn’t cover that either because they only cover one part of system not heating coils but technician told me it needs both to work for it to perform correctly etc etc. Save your 600 a year!

I started this process 11/18 and my refrigerator is still not repaired. The tech came right out and collected the $60. Said I needed a part. He has rescheduled with me to come put in the part at least 8 times. No show and no return call. I have to call him to find out why he didn't show. I would like to have another tech come out but I haven't heard from my inquiries from Choice Home.

I have no water coming to my house due to an obvious well pump malfunction. Right now, two+ hours after submitting claim, I'm still awaiting confirmation from Choice and someone to be assigned to the claim. Update to status of Circuit Board order for Dacor Oven - The Customer Service agent and the Supervisor (Derrick) were exceptional in understanding my concerns. They listened, asked specific questions related to the concerns, researched the activity and status of the claim and provided a resolution as to what is needed to get the parts required to allow the company assigned to the issues to come out to the home and fix the issue! Yesterday, I called a total of 6 times to request for a repair on my kitchen oven. I never was able to speak with a live person... The longest put on a hold was 18 minutes. I usually prefer calling rather than making a request online because I want to speak with a live person. It was very frustrating and wasted my time. This morning, I made my claim via online. I will wait and see how quickly I can get someone to come out.

I was waiting on the phone for 56 minutes before I spoke with someone in the wrong department. I had to call the same number back but use a different extension and I was placed on hold so I used the computer login. I hope it works. I looked at my plan. It shows a $45 copayment. I bought 3 plans and am a veteran. I was told that my copayment would only be $40. So I am disappointed about this and request it be put back to the $40 as agreed upon. Thank you.

I requested information due to an email I received. I discussed all the details with the sales associate, who was very informative and answered my questions. However, after talking about all the options, I decided to not go forward with the warranty. I had already given the sales associate my information and credit card information; but had not decided which deal I wanted. When I said I didn't want any of the options. The sales associate said the deal was already done and he couldn't do anything about stopping it. I would have to call the next day to talk to the retention dept. I said, "That is ridiculous, I did not complete the deal with you and I don't want the warranty. We have not hung up the phone yet."
I asked to speak to a manager, he said none were available. Then he transferred my call to the claims dept. I tried calling the number shown on my phone and he answered. That is when I got his name: Miles. He said he would have the charge of $54.20 reversed tomorrow. I am a senior citizen. Florida has laws that protect seniors. I hope Miles follows thru tomorrow 1/3/2018. I would like to think your company is ethical and that you don't cram warranties down the throats of your customers. Thanks.

Our furnace was not working. The technician came to the house and told us the heat exchange was faulty and we needed a new furnace. He NEVER said rust and corrosion nor wrote it on the receipt. Yet, rust and corrosion was what CHW said it was. We were not told about rust and corrosion. It seems like CHW’s way to get out of having to do a large repair. Seems too much like a scam.

The only time they are good when they want to sell you a policy. Once you bought the policy - which is a "no-contract" policy, you are doomed. The mistake I did, I bought their policy on 2 of my houses, for 3 years, yes 3 years. Biggest mistake of my life. Everything was very good, until I filed a claim. Claim 1 - AC, denied because I didn't maintain my AC, even though I sent them the receipt of the annual maintenance. Claim 2 - Microwave, denied, as it is a countertop microwave which is wall-mounted, and it is not covered. Claim 3 - Oven - they can't find the board, and it can't be repaired.
And as per the policy, if they can't find the board, it is not their problem and they will not replace it. They did offer to pay $220 for a repair cost, which as I said, can't be repaired. What a joke. Stay away. You will rather throw your money in drain than buying their policy. BTW, all other positive reviews are fake. Read the negative ones and decide yourself.

I happened to get Choice Home Warranty to help with protecting the older house I live in. Got the $450 one year protection starting in October with one free month. In December the air downstairs began to be less and less. Called them to come out and check my AC system as it's covered in the warranty. Choice sent two guys in a Honda Accord to my house one wearing a car mechanic work shirt. Both seemed to know their job until. I always watch people that work in my house to see what they are doing and to see if I see what a professional sees. I watched as they checked my dampers and instead of using the system to check they used a jumper and saw the dampers do indeed open and close. But that is not the proper way to conduct a full system check. They then started looking around the attic and decided my duct work was old and that that was the problem.
Even after I rained again air flows fine upstairs but has stopped downstairs and how my duct work even old would stop so suddenly. They just said the dampers work so it must be the ducts. Several weeks later a cold front came to Houston and needed warm air downstairs. I contacted Airtech of HOUSTON whom had installed my system but not ducts. And ran a check and found the main board had gone bad and that this board controls on off blower and damper board which then opens and closes the dampers. Called Choice and spoke with Cory and Mercedes who advised me to email Airtech's form which I did.
Next day was contacted that they denied the claim. I then spoke with Joel and then Nicole and finally Nalani. Nalani asked me to take a picture of form from Airtech as the emailed version was unreadable? Which I did to her email. Next day again claim denied as I could not get a second opinion without them approving it first. Spoke with Rachel another manager so she claimed and again refused to help or come to a settlement of some kind. I asked to cancel my contract which was only two months old including my free month and was told all they could do was give back $250 of the 450 I paid. Horrible service. Don't think it's worth the headache to deal with this company. All they do is refuse refuse refuse until you get mad and leave.

I had a gentleman call me this a.m. who was well spoken and concise. He told me of your offerings and I bought a 5 year plan with another year offered for "free". I felt it was a good value and that I could take it with me if I moved. I sent all the information to friends and one wrote back and told me they went through the same decision last year and also bought a long term product from you. The first person I talked to (Millie) was not helpful. She kept asking about what was wrong with the water heater. That is why I called and why I have this service for someone to come out and tell us what is wrong. She was not helpful. I called again. I got a man that took care of the claim and have sent it through. I pay my account in full for the year. I don't have many problems. I don't quite know how to rate my phone conversation with Scott. I called to get additional information as I am a senior woman and I have been scammed before by service contractors. Scott pretty much wanted to sign me up immediately without any type of questions/answers and when I told him I needed more information as I was very cautious about signing up, he told me that the company was rated A+, etc, etc, and that if I didn't trust him then I should just hang up. He told me I should thank him for getting me a reduced monthly payment and if that wasn't enough, he didn't need to continue the conversation.
There was no friendly conversation to help me with signing up and I just told him I would join even though I felt very worried about the lack of respect for my age and my simple questions. After I gave him my Visa card information, he said I would receive a printed copy of the Warranty in the mail and coverage would begin after 30 days when I asked him about the starting date after my first payment today. We ended the conversation by me telling Scott that laughter was good for the soul, and I think he actually laughed for the first time during the phone call!

I have called Choice Home Warranty regarding my dryer, first response technician came and got paid for service fee by me, he got the problem as he mentioned. "The dryer itself is heating. The dryer either heats or does not heat. This is pointing to an issue with the air flow. If it is clogged it will not allow as much moisture to leave the dryer and clothes will not dry as well. Would recommend having a dryer vent cleaning service clean house vent to ensure proper airflow."
Regarding this I called Choice Home Warranty and answer I was suppose to hire and pay. My contract doesn't say so plus how does this technician was sure according to his statement? Even if I spend time to hire someone and he gets paid, my problem would be fixed? There is no guarantee. I would like to ask this to Choice Home Warranty, I did not get basic plan, I got all the plans 5 years and this is first time I called YOU in a year. Thanks for giving me best customer care.

Choice Home Warranty (CHW) is a scam, in my experience, and for others as noted in many researched reviews. CHW contrives reasons to deny payment for repairs. Customer service is very poor. My decision to use Choice Home Warranty for home repairs has been the worst business option I have ever made. My simple claim for HVAC repair (home heating unit) was denied by CHW for no valid reason. Their contrived reason for rejection was based on their faulty assumption of a pre-existing condition which their own contracted technician denied. And, in my attempt to cancel my contract with them, they denied any pro-rated refund! Buyer beware.
CHW does not provide reasonable challenges or negotiations to their final determinations. All attempts by me for their rejection of my claim, backed up by their own contract representative, were dismissed. And again, their claims department and vendor offices are very difficult to discuss a case with and their rude demeanor is classic. I would never do business with them again, as others agree. See their reviews on the Better Business Bureau sites and it becomes obvious. Final comment: If ConsumerAffairs (this site) rates them highly, I would strongly suspect that their ratings are based on more false reviews, as their home state of NJ's BBB has evidence of.

I have had to lodge two claims since taking out this policy. My first contact was very good and was treated with respect and in an empathetic manner. The technician who attended was first rate and would not hesitate to use him again. The second call relates to a thermostat issue with my furnace. I first clicked on site early Nov. Immediately, I started receiving no less than 7 emails a week and up to 4 calls per day. WAY TOO MUCH!!! Finally told rep to put me on do not call list and calls stopped, but not emails (this was OK). After a 10 day break, I clicked back into the site to order and IMMEDIATELY someone tried to call. My plumbing is backed up and toilets will not flush. My appointment was set for 11 am Saturday. I tried to call the service company to ask for an earlier appointment. I was told by the person that answered that the technician was at his other job and was not available. Later that evening I received a call from the owner to state that an earlier call had cancelled and the tech could come in about 45 minutes.
The technician assessed the situation and determined that he needed a "snake" to unclog my plumbing. He stated that he did not have the equipment and would have to rent one from Home Depot. He said he often does have the proper equipment that he needs to complete the work. Due to the fact it was getting dark and he had to travel far to get the equipment, he would have to come back tomorrow. Keep in mind that I had already paid the service fee. I spoke with a customer service rep and they agreed that it was alright for him to come back tomorrow even though I had paid and I had backed up toilets.
My question is why is Choice sending service representatives out who are not equipped and are not available to discuss other schedules for appointments. This was and is still a serious health issue for my family. Your company failed us today. Therefore, when my contract expires I will definitely look for other alternatives for the home warranty for my home. You don't take someone's money and not complete the work. You also don't send unqualified or unprepared companies out to do the work. Also, your customer service relations lack understanding and empathy for the situation.

I am sorry I chose this company for my home warranty. Very unhelpful and wait time is always in excess of 25 minutes. Their service representatives do not try to get prior authorization for repairs, they just do the work and then get the charges declined and dump the fees on the customer. Customer support will not permit a customer to talk to higher ranking officers if there is a problem. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR WARRANTY!!!

My oven light wasn't turning off even after closing the oven on October 28th but oven was in working condition and oven is a Whirlpool double oven built-in wall and I called Choice Warranty and they sent aesthetic repairs guy Mr. ** and he opened the oven, pulled out and said the control board needs replaced and since that day the oven stopped working and started giving error codes. That guy never came back to repair and upon multiple calls Choice sent another guy and he said not only control board is not functioning but also wall unit needs replaced (I don't know what that means) which is not covered by warranty and they said my $2400 Whirlpool oven is not good to repair but needs replaced and they will give $600 to replace. Upon request they agreed to work with the repair guy I chose in December 1st week and said they will reimburse $203 towards part and will pay $160 towards labor.
The repair guy I chose said it will cost him $290 to get part and labor is etc. I asked Choice to order part and ship it to my home and she talked to supervisor and agreed as long as I take the responsibility for the part, in case it is missed I pay for the part price. Today on December 29th when I call, they are saying they will only give $203 for parts and labor together and will not order part and ship it to my home. I am on phone with them for the past 30 minutes with their resolution manager on hold, I will post here if I hear anything positive that works for customers from them I will post them back here. But this is what they do.
They chose companies that are not good maybe for low pricing or something else. Not only that they don't take proper notes when we call and next time someone else picks up and does something else. I paid my money to local appliance guy from Yelp reviews and he said it will cost $280 part + 160$ labor to repair and nothing else is wrong and oven doesn't need replaced.

I bought a home December, 2016. I sold the home in August 2017. In November and December 2017 I was getting multiple sales calls from the Choice Home Warranty company to renew my home warranty. Each and every time I have told them that I had sold that house therefore I was not renewing my warranty. Each and every time the people said, “Thank you very much. I will make a note of that in your file.” Yet 2 to 3 days later I get ANOTHER salesperson calling me to renew my warranty. After 10 such calls I have now gotten to the point where I am blocking their numbers from even ringing through to my phone.

I purchased a home warranty through your company over a month ago. The term was to start on 12/26/2017-12/26/2018. When I went to use my policy today because my refrigerator stop working they would not honor it. They told me I had a pre-existing condition with my compressor. My refrigerator was working just fine until yesterday. I paid for a policy that is not worth the paper it is printed on.

Read the BBB ratings for this company. They are terrible. All the 5 star reviews posted here are a joke. They give a slight service credit for anyone who posts a 5 star review on this site (only a 5 star review mind you). Our experience was pretty poor. They only cover a small amount of the replacement costs based on their quoted value of appliances. Our $2,200 gas range died and they paid us $350 towards a replacement. And most of the service people that deal with this company are the bottom of the barrel (because Choice pays them so little). Quality service & repair business won't deal with them. Our 5 year policy with them is finally expiring. I get at least 2 calls a day (for the last 30 days) from them. They won't listen or take me off their list. I have two accounts with CHW and my heater in New Jersey broke and they referred someone to my FLORIDA address NOT my NEW JERSEY address. It took me twenty calls to get this corrected. Everyone on phone was abrupt and nasty including salesperson, Maurice **.

I called about my garbage disposal and found out that it was fully covered under the warranty. Choice warranty company has the best value for the money. I look forward to renewing my contract at the end of the year! The representative was very friendly and professional.

Everyone I spoke with was polite and informative. Very satisfied with everyone. If their service ends up as good as the people I spoke with we should have a lasting relationship. They explained everything very well and I didn't feel like I had to ask any questions.

The experience that I had with the sales people was good, but at first their approach seemed a little hard sell. I didn't feel that I was going to talk with my wife about the plan. Later, everything worked out. I believe that we will be satisfied with the plan.

i was shocked by how many and how frequent the calls were. Every time i logged onto the site I received a call trying to lower my price and now this AM there's an e-mail trying to lock me in for life. I just got out of a bad home warranty relationship with American Home Shield and so far, this isn't much better. My suggestions: don't ever call me again, I'll call you. Chill the fuck out with the sales tactics; if I have a good experience with the service and the vendors, I'll renew, if I don't, I won't. I'm not going to make a major financial commitment 12 hours after I've signed up and have no experience with the level of service you provide. My only experience with Choice so far is a barrage of phone calls, so I would call it pretty piss poor.

The salespeople totally misrepresent the provisions of the contract. They promised, based upon my zip code, that I would have a technician to my home in 24 hours or less, once a claim was filed. Not so, however, they do operate within the contract provisions. In retrospect, they clearly wanted to make a sale, saying whatever they need to say. Classic case of over promising and underperforming.

Furnace not working properly in sub zero weather. Filed a claim but Choice Warranty unable to locate someone to come to our home to repair. We live in a large metro area. They then offered to do a reimbursement (30 days) if we found someone who would be required to call CW with cost of repair to get authorization to make repair. I found 3 companies that would send a repairman out soon but all refused to work with Choice Warranty because of past experiences.

Found out smoke detectors were not covered in my plan. Representative was very professional and helpful. I had one going off in my utility room. I think it needed to be replaced, no smoke or fire. This company is great with helping you out with whatever you need. Would recommend to anyone.

My customer service assistant was helpful, respectful, and knowledgeable on how to get my appliances service. I was very satisfied with the assistance and the outcome. Every time that I have called Choice Home Warranty I have been satisfied with the service.

Signed up and had to wait 30 days. Water heater broke down before that. Called. Filed a claim. They up my start date so I could get help. Next day received a msg, “We can’t find anyone. You have to." So I had to pay out of pocket so I cancelled and they charged me $50 for cancelling and $50 for changing start date. THEY ARE A SHAM. DON’T USE THEM. They will take your money. Rotten customer service as well!!!

Easy claim process with knowledgeable customer service team answering the phones. The entire process took less than 5 minutes to have my claimed filed. All the steps were clearly explained as well as what to expect within the next 24 hrs. Great job by the young gentleman on the phone.

I just paid 620 dollars on the plumbing problem concerning my water pump. Something I actually paid extra for on my contract with you. You people talk big when you sell your contracts but you are very little when it comes to doing what you said you would pay for. I am so displeased with your service. I have had to pay out of pocket for the three calls I have made to you and that certainly does not stand up to "we will take care of your problems". I would never recommend you to anyone.

I had prompt and courteous service. I thought it might take more time because of the holidays but it was repaired next day. The servicemen arrived when scheduled and seemed knowledgeable. The man answering the phone at First American Electric was also very personable and helpful.

Choice Home Warranty company makes unscrupulous promises to win customers. When customers sign up for the services then they deny claims which are expensive to fix. The make all kinds of false excuses. Our heat pump claim last summer was denied saying that we had not maintained. We provided the evidence of getting checked by Sears company that year that the heat pump was good but CHW still denied the claim. We ended up spending more than $6000 and suffered in summer heat.
Now we put in a claim for a valve in the plumbing system in the basement that goes to outside for BK Ave to garden hose. Since the valve in the basement is at such location that it will need cutting a hole in the ceiling they denied the claim on the pretense that the valve is corroded. Their technician did not even look at the valve. When I challenged their agent said nevertheless the valve for the hose is not covered. When I said this is not the valve for the Hose but the valve in the basement pipe going outside to the hose They still adamantly said they will not cover the claim. In short this is their modus operandi. They play this game with many people. This company should be fully investigated for unscrupulous practices.

Rep explained everything in terms I could understand. He explained exactly what was covered, the total cost and all my options. He answered all my questions, even if I thought they were simple, easy questions. Best of all, he was very courteous.

I would be so lost without your service. It is so easy to place a claim and all the vendors are quick to respond. I highly recommend ditching any other warranty company and switching to Choice. My preferred company by far.
