    I find myself being very cautious at this age especially when being responsible for others. One has to realize that SSI does not cover life’s expenses.     Had a problem with AC on Monday evening. Fixed an appointment for fixing my AC on Wednesday and the contractor didn't get scheduled on correct day, then the appointment was moved to next day and the next day the contractor didn't show up either. Then we called the customer care on Friday and they scheduled appointment for Sunday and apparently this new contractor has his car broken down. Spoke to him on Sunday morning and he was kind enough to come to home with a ride and have it fixed. Though it was a completely negative experience the contractor fixing it on Sunday made it good.

    The company that came to repair my A/C didn't give me any paperwork, showed up with the wrong part, promised to be back the next day, first thing in the morning and repair our system and never showed up. We didn't get a call until 1245 from the company, saying the part wasn't in stock, which means our repair man lied to us. They told us they would try reordering the part in two days, as their factory was closed for the Father's Day weekend.

    All this during a record breaking heatwave in the Chicago area for Father's Day weekend. Our home got up to 88 degrees, we had to get a hotel so our 1 year old daughter didn't get heat stroke. Choice Home Warranty didn't seem to care. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and also my lawyer, along with all of the realtors from the Chicago, Milwaukee and New York City area, warning them to not use Choice Home Warranty. I can cast a wide net with my experience in Sales and social networking.

    May 29 2018 is when I put claim in June 16 it was taken care of. I received a call saying I had a appointment, then was told they were not a part of your people. Then I get a call on Tue. 5/6 saying app. 14/6 3 to 8 at night, called after no show, was told that I did not have app. He did come on Sat. June 16, 19 days after claim. 2 separate auto calls but no person called to let me know why I was waiting. Did talk to someone after 24 hrs. and was told, "We are looking." I was told I could find someone myself but that is one reason why I have a warranty.

    I called Choice Home Warranty about my Air Conditioner not working properly, and they sent technicians out to look at it. The technician told me Choice Home Warranty would not take cover the cost of the repairs, and it would cost me $8500 for a new unit. Then my hot water heater went out, and they sent a technician out. Again the technician told me Choice Home Warranty would not cover the cost of repairs, and I was left with water all over my house with no help. I would not recommend anyone to use Choice Home Warranty for home warranty coverage. They have cheap monthly fee, and service call fee, but do not pay for essential repairs when you need it. I completely urge anyone who is thinking of using Choice Home Warranty NOT to use them.

    I put a claim in on my Air condition on May 15 2018 got a tech within the first week. Since then I have been calling and the company is telling me that they are waiting on the other, The Warrenty Choice. Then I call Choice and they tell me they are waiting on the contractor they sent out. Yesterday I called again and was told waiting on the part. It should take 7-10 days. It's past that. They will check into it and call me back. No call. All I want is my unit fixed. It's been over 1 month and nothing resolved.

    The technician you sent out said he had ordered parts, then I get an email from you stating that the cost to repair would exceed replacement cost. You initially offered a $299.99 cash settlement, which I declined. The offer was raised to $347.99, which I also declined. The claim was assigned to Ms Micyah **. After speaking with her she agreed to pay $420.00. The cost to replace the range top I have is approximately $803.00 plus tax, plus I have to get someone to install it at additional cost to me.

    This is not the first time Choice has screwed me, had my double oven replaced last year, that cost me over $1000 after your generous allowance of $299.99. Also when I renewed with Choice this year in Feb, 2018, I was told that my first three service calls would be at no charge. When the current 2 claims were entered I was told I only had one free service call. When this contract expires you need not call me to renew, and rest assured I will not be recommending Choice Home Warranty to anyone.

    I placed a claim on my AC almost two weeks ago. According to my policy it is covered. Last week a tech came out and did his diagnostic but apparently that wasn't suffice for CHW. Then they sent a different tech out today who charged me a second fee and did absolutely nothing. Then I get an email denying my claim hours later. I'm now out $90 for fees, lost wages and all the prior months of fees CHW has collected. I am flagging any future attempts to bill me and I will be ending any business with CHW barring a lawsuit against CHW for unethical practices.

    I finally got the email that my one year plan was expiring, the happiest day of my life, this company could be the worst company I have ever dealt with, if only I knew they were sued for denying claims and fined a huge sum. My first claim was denied because of surface rust on the coils in AC, they quoted me a line number of their rule book and I swear it was like article 1054.111 states, "Any rust on surface of coil gets us out of everything." Just seen the last review. The guy signed a 5 year contract, oh the poor guy.

    I opened this claim on June 4 because my central air unit was not working. I waited 2 days and no service provider had been assigned to my claim. So on June 6; I called to inquire about the delay, after a 40 minute wait a very curt and seemingly disinterested agent informed me that there are currently no in-network service technicians available, and informed me that I had the options to either search for a service provider myself and utilize the reimbursement plan (of which I am not at all interested), or to endure until an in-network technician becomes available.

    I asked to speak to a supervisor and by the time a supervisor (much more professional demeanor) came online (15 minutes later) an in-network technician had been assigned to this claim. I seriously doubt that it was a coincidence that after 2 days of inactivity with this claim, that 15 minutes after I asked to speak with a supervisor a service provider gets assigned, especially given that I had so recently been informed that none were available.

    The next issue was that he would not be available until the end of the day on 8 June (appointment between 3PM-8PM). Upon reading the appointment details I realized that this was the same company that had been assigned on my previous Choice HVAC claim; which prompted me to consider that Choice may only have this one in-network service provider assigned to my area of residence. This probability coupled with the Choice Service Center agent's apparent "inability" to locate a technician until after a supervisor is requested would go a long way in accounting for why it was necessary for me to wait five summer days for AC service.

    Recommendations: additional training and motivation for the first line claim agents, and also either add more in-network service providers to this area or be willing to contact out of network providers if no in-network technicians are available. When the service provider actually arrived (June 8 6:15PM) he was professionally courteous and knew his business, which is why my experience is rated dissatisfied vice very dissatisfied.

    I would give this company zero stars if the system would let me!!! Worst warranty company ever. They lie to get you in, but once you have paid them, they could care less! They state they have a 24 hour turn-around. They don't. I have put in 3 claims, since buying my warranty. 1st claim, the contractor they made us use said he couldn't fix it and charged me the service call. The 2nd claim, they tried to tell me it wasn't a covered service, so I read the entire service agreement, it was not excluded, & it wasn't until I threatened to sue that they covered it. Just put another service call in & same thing... Can't get anyone out for 4 days (I am leaving for vacation today) & it's not a covered service. Once again, not on their exclusion list, so it is a covered service. They are horrible to deal with and shady!

    Choice determined that the dishwasher need to be replaced. I was given no option as to having the Choice technician replace the dishwasher with a like item. Instead I was FORCED to take a cash settlement of $169.99. The cash settlement was nowhere sufficient to cover the cost of a low end replacement, much less having it installed. The cheapest low end dishwasher at Lowes cost from $300-$450. And then an installment fee of $75 by the Choice technician. This is criminal. Why was the cash settlement FORCED upon me and then at an inferior settlement amount? After this incident, I can assure you that I will not be renewing this policy unless a better settlement is made. A $350 settlement with $75 install fee would have been a fairer settlement.

    On 9/12/17 I purchased a home warranty from Aaron ** of Choice Home Warranty after he convinced me how great and worry free the warranty was. The first time I submitted a claim was when the self cleaning oven would not clean. The cause of the failure was an internal motor which operated the latch which locks the door. Claim denied because door latches are not covered. Recently, the electric dryer quit heating. The cause was a failed temperature sensor. Claim denied because of plugged dryer vent even though I had replace the vent piping 3 months earlier. I had to prove the vent was not plugged by sending them photos of the inside of the vent. They finally agreed to pay.

    The latest episode is with my AC unit freezing up and blocking air flow. I reported the problem while making the claim and told the operator that the unit was probably low on freon. After 3 weeks without air conditioning and the temperatures above 90 deg. They sent a technician out to check the unit. He found the problem to be low on freon. He submitted for authorization to add freon which was denied. No explanation was given to the technician so he apologized and left. I am still without AC.

    We asked Choice to repair a broken water filter unit in refrigerator, a dryer knob, and air conditioner coil leak. Choice Home Warranty found excuses in all of them. According to them the dryer part was broken of unnatural causes! In fact the knob that was working perfectly was found rotating freely after paying technician service call fee to come repair, instead we got blamed. Same with air conditioner, it is due to acidic material infiltration, (like we spilled acid on it), again we paid service call fee to be blamed. Same with Water filter unit in refrigerator - not covered after collecting the service call fee.

    They advertise that they will fix or replace a covered appliance if it stops working. What they don’t tell you is that they will arbitrarily assign a replacement cost that they would pay for a ‘like item’ that isn’t even the same brand, color, size, etc. My dryer went out, I paid the service charge and they decided it needed replaced. The replacement amount they assigned me was $299. I went to buy the same dryer and it was $699! The best deal I could find anywhere was on sale for over $500.

    Then, I called to get info on cancelling and was hung up on when I asked if my most recent payment was for the upcoming month, and if so shouldn’t I get a refund. I proceeded to call back 4 times, only to be pushed to various busy lines on hold indefinitely. I never did get to speak with anyone. Later that day I got an email saying I had been canceled but was not due a refund. They had charged me the payment that day for the month of July, which I was no longer covered for, and won’t issue a refund. Absolutely terrible business practices!

    Choice Home Warranty 1090 King Georges Post Rd Edison NJ 08837 is a fraud. This company does not behind their warranty. Buyers beware. Chose another company. I have a outstanding repair which is covered under the their top plan and they are refusing to render. This company expects the consumer to track down the technician they hired for an uploaded report when in fact the technician allowed me to watch the documentation upload to Choice Warranty prior to leaving my home.     It has taken 2 different AC companies 3 visits and a total of 26 days to fix the problem with my AC not cooling. During the first visit, the technician claimed some door had opened while running even before looking at the AC unit. When he came back again, he claimed he had to fill 1 lb Freon. When the problem was not yet fixed, we requested a different company, but CHW assigned the same company for a third time. They later reassigned it to another company, but we had to call them back. The new contractor told us he had to fill 2 lbs Freon. We hope the problem has been fixed, but won't know for a few more days.

    Additionally hold times to speak to CHW reps can be up to an hour each time. Having spent so much time on the phone and away from the office on what should be fixed within a couple of hours at the most, I am disappointed especially since CHW came with good referral and hope my future experience will be more positive.

After being asked to hold several times, both operator and supervisor told me that someone would call me sometime the next day to set up an appointment. There was absolutely nothing they could do to expedite this as an emergency. For this I was on the phone for about 45 minutes. I called the company who they booked me with and explained the problem. They called you and sure enough, they could come the same day if Choice agreed to pay a travel fee, which you finally agreed to do. They were there within 3 hours and had things fixed.

    I am completely satisfied with Andrews Electric but completely unsatisfied with Choice. You had no problem letting hundreds of dollars of food go bad plus leaving 2 garage doors open to rain, animals and theft to save yourself a few dollars. You had no problem stressing me to the point of cancelling our 6 year policy. You had no problem not helping to solve my problem. I don't call you very often and I am sure you are making a lot of money from me. I expect better service from you in the future.

    It took a month to complete my claim. Each customer service representative I spoke with (except for the very last lady that helped) was not helpful at all and basically said "There is nothing we can do" and pushed me off on the contractors for the service. The contractors (I had 3 over the course of this issue) were also ALWAYS confused about what they were supposed to be doing. The first contractor was switched because of discrepancies with payment from choice. The 2nd just stopped coming after they came out 3 times and I was re-assigned starting the process ALL over. The 3rd team came out and replaced a part (after a 3 contractors said the complete assembly needed to be replaced) and it still didn't work. I did not have hot water for a month. A full month. Even after multiple escalations and numerous phone calls to Choice.

    Parallel to this issue I had an insurance claim out for a car issue and the customer service I received for that issue compared to Choice was night and day. Follow up calls to let me understand what was going on. I never received any CORRECT information from any sources from Choice. Timely responses and help. Nothing was completed in a timely manner with Choice. With this being my first warranty experience I am truly disappointed in my Choice Warranty experience and I do not plan on recommending choice to anyone else or renewing my warranty. In the "Hold messages" when calling customer service (which I know really well from being on hold an astronomical amount of time) say that "Choice Home Warranty puts customer service first". This does not seem to be the case to me.

    I have received horrible customer service from Choice Warranty & I'm going to seek a refund and go with another company that we worked with when our house was on the market. The difference is remarkable to the two companies. With the other company, I place a request online & paid (which is more convenient to me) at that time and I would be contacted within an hour. Both vendors couldn't take a credit card & wanted cash or a check. With Choice, it has taken days and weeks to get a response from the vendor to do repairs. I think they must not pay their vendors well because no one wants to pick up jobs to serve the customers.

    For our first claim with our air con, the company that came out was unprofessional and wanted me to pay in cash!! With no receipt or business card. Their truck was unmarked so I had no idea they were from the company assigned except that they said they were. On our next claim which was a leaking toilet -- it took 10 days for the plumber to get to us!! It was crazy. We had company and had to shut down that toilet basically. There doesn't seem to be any urgency on the part of Choice to get issues resolved. When the plumber was here, I had written online the issues which was more than one thing -- the same toilet seems to be running constantly as well as leaking. And also wrote on the request online about the seal on another toilet. Well, he didn't get that memo so he wouldn't do anything outside of the main toilet.

    We called to try to get it approved so he could get paid if he did the work, and the wait was an hour long, so we had to forget it. Now, it's running constantly again, and it's been 3 days since I called the plumber back and when calling both phone numbers for him, his mail box is full. It is the worst customer service ever!! I'm going to try and get a refund & go with the warranty company we had when we were selling our home. They were a dream!! Stay away from Choice warranty unless you like poor service. I wanted to give Choice zero stars but it's required to submit so had to give at least a 1 star.

    I called to have a plumber come over, he came and had a dog in the van with him, he rolled the windows up, it was then that I knew he wasn’t going to be at my house for a long time. The guy immediately asked for the trade fee and was shaky in his stance, almost to a drunken stupor.     Choice Home Warranty or the company that called me several times trying to get me to switch to them so I don't know what a great company they are all this stuff until I have to call them for a service call on my central heat and air unit. They deny a pound and a half of Freon stating that I got a leak in my unit and the service text explain it's an older unit. They leak but they have no part in hearing that. To make a long story short they denied my claim for a pound and a half of Freon which would only cost $110 their price. Do not get this company. This is the worst experience I've ever had dealing with them and I've had companies before. This is sad. I'm a disabled veteran and I've never ever experienced any kind of dealings like this in my life so do what you want but in my opinion shop somewhere else.

    I'll be brief. Simply put your sales rep (Joe **) lied to me about a couple different things. I asked some very specific questions about what is covered on the contract. I have had several bad experiences with AHS and was hoping your company would be different. I'm currently using AHS to repair my AC unit. I was blindsided when they said I would have to pay for modifications to be done (my fault, it's in the contract), and I have been waiting a month for repairs to be made on the AC which still haven't been done. When I spoke your rep, I asked if modifications were covered, he said yes. Turns out after reading the contract, which he wouldn't send to me unless I purchased the warranty with you guys, modifications are definitely not a covered benefit.

    Secondly, I asked about certain appliance coverages, one being about hot water heaters. I told him that my hot water heater is located under a countertop and would that be covered if it broke, he said yes. Well, once again, a lie!! It clearly states in your contract that my compact (40 or 50 gal) water heater would not be covered. I am not clear on what the written contract says about replacing freon in the AC if it is needed or topping it off it is low for some reason. Joe says you guys cover that expense. He said I can cancel in the first 30 days with a money back guarantee but if I understand the contract, you guys have a $50 admin??? charge, which is more than the monthly payment.

    Lastly, Joe seemed more interested in getting my payment than answering my questions. He constantly talked over me and wouldn't let me finish what I was saying to him. I am going to think long and hard on if I will keep you guys or cancel in the next 30 days. AHS may take forever to fix things (which it seems in your contract that y'all can't be held responsible for long times for fixing stuff), but at least they haven't lied to me (on the first day no less).

    Do not use Choice Home Warranty. I have a leak in my AC system. Called Choice they sent out a tech. He determined there was a leak in my evaporator coil. Even though they say they cover the entire AC system, they did not pay for my repairs because they said the leak was due to rust and corrosion. That exclusion is noted as a general exclusion in their agreement. However if simply says components are not covered if they are inoperable due to rust and corrosion. It does not specify anything beyond that. Nothing specific to AC units. Their agreement also says that they will cover systems that become inoperable due to normal wear and tear. An AC evaporator is exposed to constant moisture, almost 24/7.

    I live in Southeast Texas where it is very humid. They are blaming the leak on rust and corrosion and stating that repair or replacement is not covered due to that. This makes no sense because the coils, which are copper, are held in place with sheet metal. The sheet metal is going to rust. That is the only place where there is rust is. It is around the area in which the sheet metal encases the coils, where the moisture is present. One would think that since evaporator coil is used to remove moisture from the air and is subjected to constant moisture, that it would be considered normal wear and tear. And for the evaporator, it is normal wear and tear! Choice doesn't consider that when determining whether or not it will be covered. But rather, they fall back onto the rust and corrosion exclusion.

    This practice is very deceptive and fraudulent. I'm sure there are a plethora of people to whom Choice has done this to. I will be doing some research and contacting an attorney and looking into the possibility of a class-action lawsuit. Choice Home Warranty is a joke! I heartily DO NOT recommend using them. This is the second time they have done this to me. On a previous visit related to my heater, they did not pay for that either. They seem to always find a way to get out of paying.

    Two appointments were scheduled through CHW to have a tech come out to service the unit. However, both appointments were cancelled, after waiting all day and missing out on two days of work myself. One company kept delaying the appointment time until ultimately canceling and refusing to come to my area. And the 2nd company just flat out said they had never heard of my town and “I needed to call someone else”. So after all of this frustration we selected the reimbursement option after being promised by two associates that we would be refunded 100% and that you refund at the technician’s rate. My tech arrived 6/6 after 7:00pm and started the diagnosis of the AC unit.

    After determining it was low on refrigerant he determined we would need 2 or 3 pounds added to cool our home. My wife called CHW for our technician to approve the service before it was performed. After selecting multiple options all we managed to connect to was a recording stating the office had closed and 7pm EST. We have a 2 year old son and it has been very difficult for him to sleep in the warm house. I had my technician pump the amount of refrigerant he recommended after temperature tests, which was 3 pounds. The bill came to $464 after the 3 pounds of R22 at $125 a pound and the $89 service call.

    All that was offered in reimbursement was $170. This does not “provide a positive customer experience” or “ensure my loyalty” as your customer as stated on your phone recordings that I’ve had the pleasure of listening to for nearly to 2 hours total. All while waiting on hold to speak with someone about this simple issue, multiple times. If this is the kind of security and peace of mind you provide to home owners, then I really do not see a benefit in being your customer. This is our first experience with CHW and it has been nothing but negative. We have a renewal pending and that is very unlikely to happen at the moment.

Every time I call you I know It will be at least 20-40 minutes on hold before I speak to someone and then that person will put me on hold for an additional 20-30 minutes to get "managerial approval". You find every possible technicality and lawyer derived loophole in your contract to either deny a claim or pay the bare minimum. I will be sure to put negative reviews all over the internet about your company and how difficult the claim process is and how you never pay. Every contractor that came to my home also hates working with your company and they voiced their dislike for your company's policies as well. I am having my attorney review my contract to see if you did something illegal and I hope you did with my denied claims so I can sue you for the damages.

    Choice Home warranty has been a nightmare. I have had this warranty for 6 or 7 months. My A/C unit started not working properly, so I filed a claim. It took a week for them to assign the job to a contractor. Finally, someone came to my home and made the diagnosis. He said it had to be submitted to claims for authorization and should be back the next day to make the repairs. Everything that needed to be replaced was covered, so no problem I thought. Was I wrong! Here it is 2 days later and I finally talk with the contractor. He tells me that the amount of money CHW is willing to pay won't even cover his cost on the parts.

    He spends a half hour on the phone with them and said they finally understood that he couldn't do the work for what they were offering. He said they just need to get final authorization to pay him. Now I'm notified by CHW that they are seeking a contractor to make the repairs! They're starting all over again! They probably think that I'm willing to wait another week for them to find someone else to offer not enough money to (we've had 80 & 90 degree temps). It will be going on 2 weeks since I first filed the claim and I'm not any closer to getting this resolved. They picked the wrong guy to screw with. Their agreement has an arbitration clause with American Arbitration Association. I've used arbitration very effectively before and I plan on winning this as well.

    We have been with Choice Home Warranty for quite some time now and we have had nothing but head aches with their customer service and coverage. They constantly deny coverage for repairs to our home. We tried to cancel the rest of our contract for service not being adequate and unacceptable.     New policy, although I already had 5 other policies with you. I called on my a/c unit which wasn't cooling. The a/c was inspected prior to me purchasing the home. I scheduled a tune up and it was determined that the compressor wasn't working and the refrigerant was low. I put in a claim and it was confirmed. Not surprising after the many years that this claim was not going to be covered. Choice is zero for 5 on fixing or replacing large items (a/c, furnaces, hot water heaters, etc.) This time, I had enough and I cancelled the policy. You claim it doesn't matter how old or that an inspection isn't necessary. I just figured out why. You will come up with some reason not to cover it. I like having the policy so I don't have to find someone. However, if you aren't going to cover and replace larger items, it is not worth the hassle and problems.

    We purchased a home in October 2017 and the seller provided a one year home warranty from Choice Home Warranty (CHW). The AC unit, which was very old, went out in May 2018 and CHW refused to cover the claim. Initially they said it denied due to improper maintenance based upon the pictures the HVAC tech sent in. After finally acknowledging that the tech had not in fact sent in any pictures they requested pictures and then denied. We cleaned the unit in the fall and spring along with changing the filters monthly. The AC unit was simply old. They are a complete rip-off scam operation. Do not use them!!!

    This is the second claim I have with my warranty and both time I ended up paying the cost of repair. The first claim was reimbursed only for 50% as no one can stay in the home with bathroom flooding for more than 3-4 days, I had to call local repair as warranty dispatch was scheduled for 3 days after I had repaired my issue, eventually, they paid 50% cost but not without arguing with claim officer.

    The second incident was even much confusing as in summer heat of 80 + Temp, AC stopped working and dispatch was not able to find me a repair for 10 days, that is after multiple calls and threatening to cancel. The technician did work but they know what type of things will not be covered and told me that based on so many years of experience he will fix the problem but warranty will not cover so I had to pay few hundreds to get it fixed. He left without repair at first as I was trying to get in touch with warranty CS and was online waiting for 45 min. You will get CS within 5 -10 min if it is new claim but for existing claims, you will have to wait for more than 30 min. Overall not happy that with warranty I am paying more than required so no use of it and maybe will buy other that has more good reviews or the one that my friends are using that they brag about it to be better.

    I was obtaining information on home warranties and this company responded quickly to my request which I liked. After obtaining information I told salesperson that I would call back when I made a decision about my plans and for them not to call me back. The first day I received three callbacks, I again requested no calls. This morning (07/07/2018), I received another call to which I asked again for no further calls. 21 minutes later I received another call to which I stated I wasn’t supposed to be getting further calls. He asked, "Were all calls coming from same number?" and I said yes. He said, "Why did you bother to answer?" and hung up. I called the number back and asked to speak to supervisor and was hung up on again. I called the 888 number and was connected to a supervisor.     Choice Home Warranty (CHW) company is worst in customer service and delivery. I would strongly advise not to indulge in any warranty company as all of them are same. They are all crooks and thief and they are just behind making money. They will promise heaven and sky during the sales call but when it comes to the commitment they are worse. Their customer service reps are trained to find ways and means to make the claims "Not Covered". They will promise that all appliances are covered, but when it comes to repairing them they will promptly decline it saying it is not covered as the problem was due to rust/corrosion. All appliances are made of Iron & Steel or they will have components that are made of iron and steel.

    There is always moisture in the air and with a period of time any appliances will rust, that is the physical nature of the material. However, without looking into the real issue and the problem, the moment they see rusting, the first thing that they say is that the issue is due to rusting and under their policy it will not be covered. Secondly, when you file a complaint they will place the order for any technician to pick up the work. The technicians are not reliable and not experienced. They often file incorrect assessment on the job and they will always find ways to tell you that the issue is big and that you have to spend a lot of money to fix it. You will be forced to get someone else for a second opinion which CHW will NOT pay unless it is proven that the assessment by your guys was not correct.

    You will have to spend a lot of time over phone waiting, nonproductive talking and not to mention all the stress in explaining and negotiating. Thirdly, CHW will never cover any cost that is subject to wear and tear which they promise but religiously decline. For e.g: In refrigerator - they will not cover ice maker, gasket, handle, trays etc. but they will cover compressor which has a lifetime warranty. In AC unit they will not cover coil leakage and leak test. They will make you pay for doing all the test. And once you have done all the test which you paid for it, they will find some excuse or find some rust and say that your system was not maintained or is not a normal wear and tear issue and is NOT COVERED. In garage unit, they will not cover sensors. In heater tank, if the pilot is broken, they will blame it on corrosion and will not cover.

    They will never have any history on what work has been done on the appliances, they will never send the same technician and they will never share any history with the appointed technician on the work that was done on the appliance. They are very unprofessional and unreliable. Don't ever take a yearly plan as you will get stuck with them. It is not worth the money. The best advice will be to find out a well know, a reputed and a referred HVAC guys, a plumber, an electrician and a refrigerator/washer/dryer guys and keep their number handy. Stay away from the warranty companies as they do nothing but take your money and give you stress.

    Overall I'm quite happy with Choice warranty. My only problem I have is when you call for a service on the same existing product they want to charge you a service fee after 30 days. I feel that policy should be looked at and changed. You already pay a large amount for the service once a year and then pay an additional service fee. When something is not fixed properly the company should get on the company they sent out to do the work. There are a lot of companies out there that don't charge a service fee and wouldn't charge for and an additional fee for a claim on the same product that was just fixed 90 days ago. Overall they did waive my service call fee after I spoke with them. I really like choice warranty but, they are giving other options to think about when my contract is up. It will cost me more in the beginning but it would save me money as well.

Tech's original estimate was finally accepted, but he still hasn't gotten the approval in writing and he can't do the work until he gets that.     If I could give them a zero I would! Last year Choice told my elderly parents that their air conditioner was not covered and they needed to get a new one. They referred a vendor, he came out and gave my parents a "Choice" discount. It has been 13 months and the unit upstairs is leaking has damaged the ceiling. The freon was out after 13 months and had to be replaced. Now Choice is telling us that the damage is not covered because it's from a new unit that was replaced that wasn't under warranty! WTH? So new damage created by improper installation is not covered. Good Luck everyone!

    I submitted a claim on my A/C. The flywheel wore out which caused the blower motor to overheat. They denied my claim twice saying it was not covered under their normal wear and tear. I then called and talked to a resolution specialist who admitted that the blower wheel malfunction falls under their normal wear and tear but the motor does not. I asked them if the blower wheel did not malfunction would I have had to replace their motor. Their answer was probably not. So, why not pay for the entire claim since everything was caused by normal wear and tear. They said no, but said they would pay 200 of a 1500 dollar claim. Are you kidding me!!! Cookie crumbs instead of paying the whole claim. Avoid this company at all cost. They may pay small claims but will find every excuse to not pay a bigger claim. I wish I would have listened to my co-worker who told me what they do, but I did not listen to them.

    I have used home warranties in the past and this is one of the worst. I sat on hold for over 30 minutes on one call and at least 15 for the other 2 calls. I submitted a claim and they closed it without contacting me at all not even an email. I refile the claim using different verbiage and it goes through. This is about my A/C which I have now been without for 5 days and have to wait another 2 days. So 7 days to have someone come take a look at my problem. Two of the days were the weekend but still 5 days!!! I live in GA and it's already hot here. When I finally got someone on the phone they said that was the earliest they could get out here. I explained my situation and still the same answer, "Sorry this is the earliest we can get someone out there." I will not be renewing my contract with this company.     I purchased the warranty a year ago in May and bought a 3 year warranty. I have called this company two times and both times has been a nightmare. First time was a sewer issue and they came back and said main line was collapsed plumber never expressed the problem but basically said would not cover stoppages in future. Then had AC issue looked for excuse to not cover repair. I called up to cancel last the two years and out of $1125 they would refund $189 two days into the second year beware if your home hasn't been updated with appliances. They look for reason not to cover issues. When I called up they offered $375 towards replacing condenser in attic $2500 estimate why have this warranty. Not worth the money. Don't waste your time.

    Both times the repair people came out my dryer still is doing the same thing. The first person who came out told me that my exhaust vent hose needed to be blown out and that would solve the problem along with the fact that it needed to be straighten out but that didn't fix the problem. The next guy that you all sent out was unprofessional, didn't really seem like he knew what he was doing because he was trying to pry my dryer front area open with a screwdriver, and then he replaced a part that still did not fix my dryer. For $90 I could have added another $200 and got a new dryer and this is what I spent as my deductible but still today it is doing the same thing.

    Horrible company, stay away! I switched from One Guard to Choice because it was much cheaper—HUGE mistake! I am switching back to One Guard. Choice is a dirty company and I don’t know how they are even still in business. They find some way to weasel out of paying any claims. We had One Guard for years and never had trouble with them—and they paid for a new oven, washer, A/C, etc. I wish I would have never left them. We had A/C issues after we switched to Choice, but Choice would not pay anything for it because they said we could not prove we had done annual maintenance to the unit. On the other hand, One Guard repaired the SAME unit in the past (for a different issue), they never said a word about the fact that we didn’t do annual maintenance. Our water heater went out after we switched to Choice and Choice refused to pay for a replacement because it had rust on it.

    I finally got fed up with Choice and decided to cancel and switch back to One Guard. Even the cancellation process demonstrated how far superior One Guard is to Choice. I spent about 30 minutes on hold - a common occurrence at that company - and then had to argue with a guy on the phone for about 10 minutes after that to get them to cancel my policy. When the rep finally gave up on trying to get me to stay, he told me they would only give me back about half the money I should have been refunded because of fees and the cost of any services they did to our house!! Which, I assume, must have simply been the cost of sending people out to tell us that they can’t do anything for us - UNREAL!

    When I canceled my One Guard policy (once again, big mistake), I simply sent them an email telling them what day the cancellation would be effective. They promptly sent me an email back confirming the cancellation and told me they were sorry I was leaving. Done. No hassle, no waiting on the phone for a half hour, no arguments, and they refunded ALL my prorated money back with no hassle. Choice may be the cheapest, but you would be better off with no home warranty company at all. Spend the extra money and go with One Guard.

    I had a problem with getting a serviceman from your company and had to get my own repair service. I was told to get it approved thru Choice Home Warranty when the technician came. It took me 45 minutes to get to speak to a person to get the approval and that included talking to the actual technician who had to go up and down to the basement several times to get additional information off of my peerless furnace. Overall it was some inconvenience but the job was eventually approved and I was satisfied with the results. I think you could improve your wait times while being on hold drastically.     Choice is not reputable. They will not cover much of anything. They claim the failure must have started before your coverage began or that they do not cover AC failure if there is rust present. This is common in an older system and the reason to get coverage. They have enormous hold times on their customer service line. 20 minutes is the norm I have experienced. The individuals I spoke to were somewhat rude. The tech they dispatched did not show up on the day specified and they use one AC company to diagnose the issue and then a different one for the repair since they don't trust the first AC company to diagnose without regard to their benefit. This causes delays. You can expect an AC repair to take one week.

    Be aware when subscribing to CHW that you will not receive prompt service. You will get a quick response, however an appt time will be assigned to you. I have never received an appt time that was satisfactory. I think that whatever they pay puts CHW subscribers at the bottom of the priority list. Waiting for days for Air conditioning to be fixed in the Texas heat is unacceptable. Waiting for days to have a washer or dryer fixed is also a huge inconvenience. When scheduling an A/C appt on your own, you can get emergency service. I have my parents living with me, ages 83 and 87. Waiting days in the Texas heat for an A/C repair is not an option... Also, be aware that CHW offers incentives for positive reviews and I have not discovered a way to file a negative review on their site. Beware.

    Extremely dissatisfied with Choice and contractors provided. Ticket ** deals with AC at my residence - one AC system was not operating and repairs were completed. Shortly after repair, system was down again and temperature in home was 86 degrees. Since I work from home it's important this system is repaired correctly and quickly. I contacted Choice and was on hold for over an hour, at which time the call dropped - at 7pmCT, which I understand is the end of shift for customer service - coincidence? I'm right now on hold again with Choice to try and have the AC system looked at again today.

    Ticket ** deals with another AC system not operating at a rental property. I was notified after contractor inspection that the system was rusted and it would not be covered. I'm a licensed Engineer and have worked at a high level in construction for 30 years. AC systems are ALWAYS a damp location where condensation forms and rust occurs. According to Choice, you do not repair items that are rusted - it's normal for wet areas around metal rust, so your warranty service is worthless.

    As said, I'm extremely dissatisfied with Choice and how you conduct yourselves, from being on hold via phone for hours to the very poor coverage and poor contractors selected for repairs. I will be changing warranty companies VERY soon unless I receive better service and coverage - I currently have 3 homes covered by Choice and am prepared to move all warranty contracts to others.

    The original company dispatched, Complete Heating and Air, did not come on the day CHWs e-mail said because they did not know of my order. I was rescheduled for next day, May 24th. Complete found nothing wrong, collected the $45 fee and said I would be hearing from them. Next, I get a CHW E-mail with an appointment for a different company, Eichling, for the 29th. Eichling found a problem, did a repair but it has not completely solved the original problem. They also collected the $45 fee.

    I spoke with CHW yesterday to try and get Eichling back. I have not heard from them yet. I did get an e-mail from CHW that said the were issuing a check for $145 for my repairs, but it did not say to whom or how they got the amount. I wonder why I had to pay two $45 service fees instead of having Complete finish the original job? Also on my profile there is an order # **. Do not know what this is. Sorry my review is not more favorable, but it could get better if we get this fixed! Hold time for speaking to customer service is very long, but how can I handle such a convoluted problem online? They are very nice when I finally do get them.

    My AC would not generate cold air. When turned off, fan still ran. Technician came and diagnosed broken fan blade which made it unstable and shaky and cut into the fibrous silver inner walls. The heat fan was running, which he turned off. Took 13 days for company to state that this was not wear and tear and turned down my claim. I called the tech and his secretary told me that he argued back and forth with Choice Home Warranty explaining there was no misuse or intention on homeowners part for the failure of the fan and breakage. They still denied it. I had bought the house 2 years earlier and had no problem 'til this summer. I wrote them and told them that the age of the house (14 yrs) would contribute to the fan blade baking in the summer and breaking off, thus normal wear and tear. I would NOT recommend anyone to this company! When they argue and disagree with a trained technician whom they hired, there is a scam going on.

    The main issue is the service call scheduling. The system assigns a time, regardless of my schedule.     I HATE the service that was provided by Universal Repair Appliances Joel **. He called to tell me the washing machine switch needed to be replaced. All he did was replace the switch. He did not take the time to make sure the washer was working properly. After working two 12 hours shifts I came home Monday night to wash my uniforms for the next day. After putting my uniforms in the washer, putting in the detergent and turning on the machine there was absolutely no water. I had no idea what was wrong with the washing machine because that is not my line of work. I had to wear the same dirty uniform to work the next day. Choice Home Warranty tried to call Joel ** while I was on the phone. He stated he was at a customers house and he'll call me (Cheryl) back.

    He never called me back and he did not return my phone calls. I do realize I only paid $45 for his services, but I did not get what I paid for and especially since I trust and pay Choice Home Warranty every single month without fail.     We have purchased a home warranty for 2 years with Choice. To ensure if we had any major AC or water heater etc issues they would help us keep cost low and get quality service technicians to repair what breaks. It has been awful. We have made 4 service calls all for the same thing our AC. We have had 4-5 companies come with so little knowledge or professionalism. The first 2 times the service repaired for a few months (got us through summer). Now our AC broke again May 2. It was serviced by another horrible company (this guy didn't have tools or an invoice - nothing). He added freon, which collies our upstairs but not at all diagnosed a problem. So 19 days later back calling Choice. They were so rude and insistent on calling the same guy?!? Now we are on day 5 and have been without air a total of 9 days this month.

    Finally another "quality AC repair" was scheduled to come out today from (3-8pm). Mind you our young children have been having to stay with family and friends as it is too hot for them. So we wait... It's 9:20pm. No call. No show. So basically Choice has the worst of the worst when it comes to companies they schedule for you. And the other "option" they tell you is to find your own company and pay out of pocket and they (maybe) will reimburse you. Really, that is all they can offer after falsely claiming they have many quality companies they work with. Where are they? Please, that's all I want. You know what I paid to have a warranty for!     My A.C. stopped cooling over week ago. I am disgusted with CHW. They set me up with an unprofessional company GDL Mechanical who customer service is trash. They don't communicate with the homeowner. They said I needed a hard start and capacitor then jumped to a whole new unit. Now I have to wait for a stronger hard start. It is summer! We are approaching double digits and they keep playing around with order hard starts instead of replacing the compressor. It's ridiculous.

    Heather was professional from CHW but now when I call they do not forward my calls to her. I have two young kids. My house is 90 degrees on the inside. I don't want mold but no one cares. I've already given money to GDL so I'm stuck with them playing with ordering parts. I'm so ready to be done with this and this was my ONLY claim they have ever had to do. Freaking ridiculous! When will this issue be resolved. When will they stop nitpicking on what they cover. I'm done!!

    This company will lie to you and mislead you when it comes to repairs for your AC and other home appliances. The contractors they use will write what they found when inspecting the unit that you are having trouble with. In my case the air conditioner. They will write it in such a way that Choice will then not have to pay for repairs and put the blame on you. When you complain about the findings they essentially brush you off and do not listen to what you are telling them. I have come to believe that they pay their contractors to write their reports in such a way so as not to have to pay for the repairs. I am getting ready to sue this company for all the aggravation they have caused me. Just waiting for my lawyer to contact me.

    I feel like I have been lied to through this whole time. They do not pay the claims that they say they will pay. They would not even let me cancel my service when I requested to cancel. My contract expires in Feb. 2020 and they told me I could not cancel and the agent hung up the phone on me. THIS IS A HORRIBLE COMPANY. DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH THEM OR THEIR LIES!!! They should be shut down.

    Very disappointed. Will NEVER recommend this company. I purchased the 3 year plan in advanced and cannot get a refund a year into it! HORRIBLE customer service, horrible coverage plan. Items stated that are covered are actually not. Service technician sends in claim for Choice to deny and state "item(s) are not covered for repairs." Have had several issues for repair from washing machine, dishwasher, water heater, etc., not one thing did they cover/repair. I had First American Home Warranty and then switched to Choice Home Warranty due to being cheaper in price, HUGE mistake! I will be going back to First American Home Warranty. They provide good customer service and actually believe in and stand behind their product and service. I may pay a little more, but so worth it. Readers beware... read the FINE PRINT. Choice Home Warranty is not a company of good faith. They are scammers.
