On May 15, 2018, made contact with CHW regarding faulty A/C Unit. They dispatched a technician from Archer Heating and Air Conditioning. I paid $45.00 to Archer Heating and A/C. The owner Brandon Archer arrived, checked unit and had to return several days later to recharge Heat Pump. On June 12, 2018, A/C until was not cooling down the home, I contacted Archer heating and Air Conditioning. Mr. Brandon Archer owner of Archers Heating and A/C, he stated., "Archer Heating and A/C will no longer be doing work for CHW due to CHW owes the company for more than 100 repairs. CHW noticed.
On July 5, 2018. CHW Indicated, Jenson Mechanical would be handling the repair. July 5, 2018, Jenson Mechanical failed to meet the scheduled appointment due to previous unpaid repairs made for CHW. On July 12, 2018, CHW sent Don Enterprise and Associates. Again, I paid Don Enterprise $45.00 to look at the same A/C Unit. The technician indicated, the heat pump has a refrigerant leak from the condenser. It's an old unit and needs to be replaced. On July 17, 2018, I received a message from CHW, stating they would not cover the repairs to my Heat Pump due to exposure to Acid and or Corrosion.
I made contact with CHW, they stated, they do not know where the Acid and Corrosion came from but would offered a check for $150.00 to assist with the cost of a New Heat Pump. I informed them, this was not the service I paid for and being I had to purchase a new Heat Pump, I wish to no longer continue services with this company. I attempted to make contact and left a message with a Kendra, Dispute Resolution at 888-503-6847 ext. **. To current I have not received a return phone call. I am currently In the process of working with a vendor to replace my heat pump. However, I feel as though the public should know my experience with CHW.

Technicians sent were professional and courteous. CHW themselves are a nightmare. 1st time ac repair took 5 days to resolve due to authorization for work. Slow process on CHW end. 2nd time ac repair was executed promptly but I had to pay for two service calls which is horsecockery. At 12 noon we noticed one ac system down and submitted claim, then at 6 pm we noticed the other system down and submitted another claim. One technician came and fixed both systems in one visit but we had pay two service call fees. CHW said because we submitted two different claims that we had to pay twice. This is not good business. I hope in the future CHW learns to conduct upstanding business practices.

Summer season is the busiest time for HVAC issues and very hard to find service provider. The Choice Home Warranty was able to accommodate my service request in a very reasonable time frame. The service provider in return offered me the best option possible to my situation. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the performance of these companies I dealt with.

I bought the contract with Choice Home Warranty for 5 years in October 2016. I had dishwasher problem and they took 6 weeks to tell me they don't want to fix the problem and gave me couple of hundred dollars to buy a new one. Service companies schedule several times and no show. One service company said they are ordering the parts and never came back to fix it. Another service company came and said can't fix it. That was a year ago. Now I have a problem with a refrigerator in the basement have a problem and they say it is a maintenance problem. I called to cancel the contract and they say I can't get any prorated amount.
Updated on 07/23/2018: I wrote a review about Choice Home Warranty on 7/18 about how this company treat customers claims. I received an email next day from Consumer Affairs stating that the CHW wants to settle the issue with me directly which they never contacted me so far in any method. I lost almost 2k purchasing insurance from this company and they don't want to cancel for refund which they promised I can cancel at any time for prorated amount. I suggest no one should buy insurance from this company since they are big scammers. If you read Yelp reviews you will understand what I am saying. I made a mistake buying without reviewing about this company. I am even surprised that Consumer Affairs just fall for them and ignored my complaint.

Garbage disposal - Leak detected. Your service provider was excellent and the overall experience was great. The telephone connect and the scheduling was very good. Hughey's Homecare LLC was excellent. He was quick and very efficient. In the future if I need a plumber I would call him.

My experience is usually wonderful with service calls. However this time I used my own contractor and it was next to impossible for him to get an authorization. Because he was not a Choice contractor he had to call a different number and could not log in and send an email to get authorization. Finally, I called and asked for a supervisor (after enduring a long hold time) and the authorization department called him. My sending notes on the service call made me think that the people reading them did not understand what I was asking for. I love using Choice Home Warranty and highly recommend the company.

First time using this company. Had them since March 2018. First time I called they was right on point. I had appt the next day between the hours of 11 to 3. Three o'clock comes around, contacted the company that's suppose to come out, I was told they do not have a claim number for me and they will contact them while I wait. They came back on the line to say they need to call me back. Waiting on authorization. I call CHW. Spoke with someone trying to get it approved. Again called back, put on hold 3 different times and then was hung up on all 3 times. Finally at about 5 I call the company and was told they were on their way. 30 minutes later got a call from the tech. Said he will be out tomorrow. The name of that company is Elf Garage, again contacted CHW about my two other claims. Was told I can look for my own because they don't have anyone to come out. I will cancel. I pissed off because I cancel my company I had for 5 years.

A little slow getting service, difficulty getting service on the phone, but once I finally connected with someone the experience was very satisfying. After having to contact a technician to get faster service, the technician was on hold for a very long time with the Authorization Department trying to get the claim approved before he could start the repairs.

Roy LLC was not responsive to our needs. After being notified that he couldn't respond for 24-36 hours he canceled and rescheduled 8 hours later. Even after the late reschedule he almost canceled altogether and I had to start looking for my own repairman. He didn't call and he didn't respond to voicemail. When I called Choice for status they couldn't make contact with him and never returned my call.

I have called for service on the heating unit on Dec. 24th 2017, when the temperature was below 0 Degrees. CHW send a tech and the tech came checking the units filter and said the filter is bad and left the unit Turned off. By the time I got home, it was 25 degree inside the house and busted pipes and water all over. It cost me $50,000 fixing and called another company to check out the Furnace and they came out and replaced the unit stating that the problem wasn't the filter. The CHW cost me close to $5500 from my pocket in addition to the $1500 CHW insurance. July 11, 2018. My A/C stopped working and I called CHW, the temperature was above 90.
No response from CHW on the Next Day, So I called them back on July 13th and they said that They couldn't find a contractor in my area and told me to call some company and they will pay for repair (pay in 30 days of service after getting all the paperwork). I called many company none of them wants to deal with CHW and finally another company (A&G Heating and Cooling) agreed to come out and look at it. A&G said the compressor is bad and can't find the proper parts to replace it, so that the unit need to be replaced. He tried to get contact with the CHW and unable to contact with CHW after holding more than 45 min. So I stated calling CHW, holding more than an hour, get hold with representative, and the call get disconnected, more than 5 times (holding time of close to 6 Hrs) and none of them rep ever bothered to call back (The Great Customer service), and they were done for that day.
July 14, 2018- started calling CHW and after numerous attempt one representative promised to call the tech. Then they send me an email stating that they need the pictures of the unit inside and outside. It was already late and it was a Saturday, the Tech told that he would come and send the pictures on Monday July 16th. July 16,2018. The tech came home and start taking pictures inside and outside of the unit and send them to the number CHW provided. Tech tried to call them after and there was no response but holding the line. So I emailed CHW for help and what is the next step. They responded that send all the documents to CHW. I told the tech to go ahead and replace the unit.
Finally after all the installation of the unit, CHW called the tech at the end of the day asked him what did he do and he replied that he cannot wait any longer, with kids under 10yrs old inside the house with above 100 degree temperature, and replaced the unit. CHW send me an email stating that they decline the claim because the tech replaced the unit prior to obtaining approval from Choice Home Warranty. I will not Recommend CHOICE HOME WARRANTY to any one.

First of all, I like your service but don't always understand the way things work. I am on disability and go to dialysis 3 times a week for 4 1/2 hrs at a time. I also have many Drs. appointments. I explained this to the customer service girl and she didn't seem to care about my situation. My sink was leaking water since Saturday. She contacted one company and they came back and said the earliest would be Thursday. Seriously, wait 6 days from when I have a leaky sink. I called the plumbing company 3 times to reschedule and left messages each time with NO reply back.
So I called her back and said I needed someone else. She said that you don't do that... and to wait for tech. I insisted that she get someone else. I knew she was upset with me but she finally called another company. When I got confirmation I was given Friday after 3:00. No better. Well the company called me and asked if that time worked for me. They said "Choice" gave them that time for me. ??? Why. When she new my situation. This might seem petty to you complaining, but it's sad how much fighting handicap people have to do. Nobody cares. That's how I saw Customer Care.

Able to replace my disposal immediately... promptly and well done. Even had the PART on his truck... Amazing! I didn't have to wait for another appt. to get this done. I am very pleased! Good buy for the money and I would recommend this company to others.

So to make it short, my ceiling fan was working and the lighting is not. Repair guy said, they can replace it and they have the one with the lighting for $50 bucks. Choice Home approved me for $69.99 without the lighting. But Choice Home doesn't wanna cover the $50 ceiling fan because it's an upgrade, so I have to pay the $50? Doesn't make sense.

Can’t say enough about the young man that helped us get our warranties going! He knew everything you could have wanted or needed to know! We felt completely safe and comfortable with this company! First, of course, they offer a great price and a ton of years in the contract, yes, if you do the math is cheap and you get excited. But... but... I decided thanks to Hubby to try the service for one year and see if I like, better than being stuck in a 5 yrs already paid contract (because they lower prices if you pay all at once). The service calls are quick, you get the technician in 2-4 days, I never had an emergency call tho.
The small claims get solved. A fan not working, a plugged toilet... they were fixed. When I called for major appliances - fridge and dryer, that when the excuses start. They will make all excuses saying that's not cover, that's excluded, that's not "normal wear" ("Ok maybe for you...," I said). When you try to contact the case manager, is impossible. The voicemail had so much back noise and said "its Friday. I'm out till Monday..." When I called ON A MONDAY... so I never got to talk. Still trying to fight my claim. I will ask for an early termination and leave this company - THEY ARE LIARS! They put nice paid reviews online. DO NOT TRUST!

An appointment was scheduled for Wednesday, I called Wednesday to confirm the appointment to find out that it was rescheduled for another day... I was told it was scheduled for Saturday. They came out to service my AC on Friday. I wasn’t pleased to how they left my property. They tried to solicit other services.

I was shopping around for a new policy, I have been dissatisfied for several months with my existing policy. This service has been great in addition to the low monthly rate and the added appliances at no extra charge. Representative was great, explained all the extras and was extremely courteous.

They arrived when scheduled and let me know exactly what was happening and if there was going to be an additional cost, there wasn’t, everything was covered. Appliance was freezing everything. Tech came out and said I needed a new motor for a door that separated the fridge from the freezer. He promised to be back with the part in a week. After Five Weeks and numerous emails to YOUR service department including ones telling me they would reach out to the TECH, I call and get a PERSON that tells me he was terminated and that they would need to send ANOTHER Tech. It appears he was terminated and NO ONE tried to find out where all the claims he was working on. You just waited to hear from the client! That is totally wrong. I waited six weeks to get a simple repair done on my refrigerator.

Air went out on Monday July 9th. Never can talk to a human. They e-mailed me in the afternoon. Someone would be out Friday July 13th. From 11-to 3pm checked everything out. He called Choice Sat. AM in the middle of conversation he was cut off. When he called the same day on Saturday before he could tell them the problems. They said denied... Saturday afternoon they sent e-mail a long e-mail unit old Freon caused the problem. If I knew what they were talking about. I would be a repairman. P.S. I wanted to sent a complaint to the B.B.B. They said they could not find the company and their e-mail address was wrong -- also never talked to a human being thru this ordeal and on their website -- you gave them a A-plus top rating. PS also I am 75 years old and I am doing this e-mail in 90 degree temperature.

This is the worst service I have ever encountered. I called in the claim a couple of day prior to June 20, I received an E-Mail on 6/20 telling me that 59 Dollar Handyman would be here on Saturday 6/23, between 6-8 PM. I tried to change the time because I had theater tickets. I never could get ahold of the Handyman, I gave the tickets away. He showed up about 6PM and proceeded to take the top and back off of my dryer. He had his phone getting instructions on how to take it apart. He commented that he found out he didn’t need to take it apart because he could get the heating element from the front. He told me he felt a break in the heating element. He said he would pick up the part at Granger on Monday morning and be here Monday afternoon.
I didn’t hear from him so I called CHW on Wednesday, I was told that your people would get ahold of him and call me back. I did not get a call so I called back on Friday 6/29, I was told that Handyman ordered the part this AM and that Handyman would call me on 7/5 to tell me when he could complete the job. I heard nothing. So I call CHW back on 7/6. At that point I was told that Handyman wasn’t calling you back. That you would put him an auto call back, that your system would call him once an hour. Every time I tried to call Handyman I got a recording saying the mailbox was full. Monday 7/9, I called CHW and your operator assigned the job to a different vendor.
When I received the Email giving me the vendor, Nick Foust name and number I called him, gave him the model and serial number of the dryer. He showed up on time with the part. Then determined that it had been a misdiagnosis and found a broken wire. Repaired the break and the dryer works. I feel I got the runaround and was sent a totally incompetent repairman. It was over 4 weeks from the time I reported the problem until it was repaired. Since he told me he would be back in 2 days I said, "Just leave it." There is no sense putting it back together for 2 days and then having to take it apart again. What I wound up with was my laundry room and adjoining room cluttered up with stuff normally stored in the laundry room.
I suggest you remove 59 Dollar Handyman from your vendors. Nick Foust was very competent and did the job as quick as he could. He now has a heating element he doesn’t need. I have serious doubts to my renewing my contract with Choice Home Warranty unless I receive serious compensation for the horrible service I received.

Customer service regarding plan - This person was very helpful. I called three different times and got three different answers as to the coverage of water line outside the house to the main sewer line. I will make comments when I place service call. So far good. Will see what happens. This coverage sounds really great.

Our washing machine was reported inoperable to Choice Home Warranty on May 4. Choice Home Warranty sent a repairman out who diagnosed that the shocks were bad. He went back and determined that there are no shocks on the machine. He never returned our call nor did he come back. Choice Home Warranty was called again. They sent another repairman out. Whatever he did fixed the problem for about 2 days. Choice Home Warranty was called again. The same repairman came back out and diagnosed a different problem. When he had the parts, he came back and determined the machine would not work with the new parts. He diagnosed the machine "dead". He said he would report it to Choice Home Warranty.
Choice Home Warranty told us they would ask the repairman to contact Maytag to see if he had missed anything before they declared the machine "dead". They said they would get back to us in 48 hours. We are still waiting for a call from them. We have done all the reaching out to Choice Home Warranty. They do not keep us informed of what is going on. In the 2.5 months that the washing machine has been broken, we have spent hundreds of dollars to wash at a laundry mat. We are still waiting for a resolution to the problem. In our opinion, this is not acceptable customer service.

The technician was very professional and knowledgeable! I would highly recommend. The first scheduled technician did not show up, and immediately after I called to notify them, Choice Home Warranty rescheduled a different technician for the following day! Excellent service!

At this point I am completely dissatisfied with my experience. I placed a claim to have my dishwasher looked at. The Tech recommended that the dishwasher be replaced and CHW agreed. However, since then I have not been able to speak to anyone regarding next steps. I have tried to call several times and have been on hold for more than 3 hours on multiple occasions. This process is unacceptable.

A Devoted Care (Will) did a great job identifying the valve problem and actually fixing it, he explained everything step by step. I would recommend Choice for coverage as the customer service is very understanding. No more leaks and flooding! Thanks.

Your company did everything opposite of all your commercials and advertising! You state you will fix or replace no matter what the age of your equipment when it breaks or fails and you will work steadfast to get it done. Well you gave up, left the family in the sweltering heat for 6-8 weeks, you tried to blame everything on the care and maintenance of the equipment. Then when the records were produced you tried to say the records were not correct or the signatures were signed by someone else, you even denied the claim and only after 3 more times did you offer a small amount 5-10% of the repairs. Then after 2-3 more supervisors you stated, "Yes the maintenance and everything was correct however the offer was increase only to a little more than half of the $1500 stated on the contract."
I am sure if you changed the offer from a non covered to a covered event you would be able to cover the $1500 as the contract states, that is still less than 50 percent of the repairs that were a covered event!! But since I paid to have it repaired you now will only cover 500 plus 350. After all the time on the phone, renters threatening, real estate folks getting ready to cancel my leases, the headaches of me losing money from work and time going over and over to the military family, husband that served in Iraq to defend our country so contracts can be mislead, I will have to take my business to another company in the future.
Never in my life has anything been worse!! I have had, American Home Shield in the past and now Choice Home for 5 location for multiple years, and things are all good until something breaks down, then I have to prove everything and we did, the contractor did not state what your company states was wrong, that the equipment failed due to lack of maintenance, I am pretty sure the NJ state and Better Business Bureau would love to hear my story! The final offer was basically CHW to pay for the compressor 850 but not to fill it with Freon or install it, only the cost of the part, 850 that is 150 dollars less than quoted by the contractor! WOW. I am sure to renew this warranty when it comes due!!

I’m very dissatisfied because our water heater is broken and the guy who came to fix it told me that the insurance don’t cover the leak. That’s around 12pm. After 5 hours he called around 5pm and told my husband that they’re on their way to fix the water heater, are you serious! We already call someone to fix it and why he didn’t call earlier and why he didn’t confirm if it covers our warranty or not. He just said straight up that it doesn’t cover the warranty and after countless of hours change his mind! So we paid someone else to do our water heater instead of getting it fix for free.

Bought the home and warranty in Nov 2017. Prior to purchase we had an appraisal completed with all appliances working. Towards the end of June the AC was not keeping the house at the set temp (76*F). Called CHW to have someone come out to repair it. The techs they sent out were there for under an hour, took out the filter, rinsed the outside unit with a garden hose, and told my mother "be careful with that, so you don't get electrocuted" (talking about a broken relay switch). Attached wire nuts to a cut wire. They did not replace the filter, nor fix anything because "the guy didn't have his truck". Assuming they did the job correctly, I called the company the next day to let them know the AC still wasn't keeping up. After a few days of waiting I FINALLY heard from the company that CHW wasn't going to cover the repairs.
I called CHW and they stated that the issue was due to "lack of routine maintenance". When I asked what the maintenance schedule was (the 4th time) the rep looked it up and stated "every 12 months". (I've had the home, and warranty for 7 months.) With that information it was also suggested that I file an appeal. I did, and it was denied for the same reason.
I called a local HVAC tech and after 3 hours of diagnosis and repairing the relay switch he stated I need a new system, my current one being over 20 years old. I relayed this information to CHW with the question of competence of who they hired and also quoting the warranty they sent me "covers preexisting unforeseen repairs/replacements unnoticed by visual inspection or simple mechanical test". The caseworker replied to that with "lack of routine maintenance, it doesn't matter if it was you or the previous owner, it's not covered." Coming across the reviews and complaints I can NOT believe this company is still in business!! I'm just glad I've only had them for a short time.

Repair technician knew the problem with my water softener and proceeded to fix the unit. She was knowledgeable on how to make the required repairs and also was very courteous. Would strongly suggest your company use her company in the future.

Air Conditioner INOP. Completed online claim after EDT business hours. Early got email with minutes, claim opened. Early next morning had appointment for three days later. Called tech company, got tech next day. Some difficulty getting paperwork done between tech amd CHW. Resolved and work completed next day.

You're not paying for the whole job because you say the light is not covered but it's part of the fan. It's forty years old so you're not getting parts. Because of that I will not be getting a new fan. Is there something with every part in the house that's not covered?

I had an issue with my garage door on 070618. I tried to call your service and discovered that the customer service center was not available. I thought the service was a 24 hour service. When trying to follow instructions given over phone was not able to do so.

The service man, Nathan, was on time... very courteous and very professional. He was able to fix the plumbing problem and cleaned up the floor before leaving. He even made several extra checks to make sure the toilet was not leaking. I am most impressed with this company.

Have had poor customer service when calling. Very frustrating. LONG periods of waiting on the phone and then to get someone like Janika (sp) who would not stop talking long enough to let me explain what I was trying to find the answers to. She was extremely rude and not someone that should be on the phones. We requested a different company to do our repairs due to reviews (our choice) and the tech showed up on 7/9 instead of 7/11 as scheduled. Tried to get answers on who changed the appointment without checking with us first. Both vendor and CHW were pointing fingers at the other party. I, as a customer, was caught in the middle. Today is 7/13 and we still don't know if the repair is approved.
7/12 I spoke with Daishon (sp) and was told they don't really update on the claim status, which I don't understand when you are directed to go there to "check status". I was told by him that if we don't get a response by late today, I should call back. I have spent 1/2 hr to 45 minutes each day this week to get answers. Our experience with the garage door opener was excellent but we have had 2 experiences now that were disappointing. We would not recommend this company based on our recent experiences. We get calls or emails daily wanting us to sign up with CHW. They don't even know we have been a customer for over a year. Put more associates on the phones to handle the customer service calls and less on marketing calls. I'm tired of hearing "We have a higher than normal call volume so please wait" every time I call. I hope this is not how our future claims are going to be handled. This is not the way to do business.

Samawi Services said it was electrical box. He replaced. I am wondering why he fixed it. Hope he is a licensed Electrician. Said his credit card machine was down and I had to pay cash or check. My tenant gave him a check and will deduct from August rent. I really don't like doing business that way. When I was with AHS I always paid with credit card over phone. I live in Texas. Thank you.

Terrible customer service from the vendor and From and Sabazz (supervisor at Choice). I called Monday and my water heater is still not working and I have babies in the house. The tech called the first day and said he would be there at 12 but didn’t show up till almost 2pm. The tech diagnosed the problem and said he would try to find the part and fix it the same day. Needless to say that didn’t get done and we never heard from him after that. I called Choice to see what was going on and found out he never even called the order in to you all. The next day he calls and comes over and then tells me I owe another $75 and stated Choice should have called and notified me about the extra charge. This time it didn’t get fixed because he need another part. The is aggravating especially when you’ve paid every month on time and when you have a wife with a baby that riding you about this. I’m pissed!

This is one of the worst home warranty company ever. This is the reason why they are so cheap. You definitely get what you pay for. Cheap is not better!! They have taken every measure to deny my appliance claim. I havent received any call backs from a supervisor, even after I submitted my appeal. Customer service is the worst!

I like the fact that we had to only pay the service charge for repairs, but it took us 3 days to get the a/c working. The company accepted the job, set an appointment and then rescheduled for another day. I am afraid companies accept the job to beat competition and then schedule at a later convenience. I feel that the company should pay the service fee when they do this, that would help prevent this from happening. We have cool air after 3 days of 87 degrees in the house.

I purchased this service over a year ago after being with AHS for about 8 years. I only changed because the rates were getting unreasonable. I called in my service call about 8 months after having the service for plumbing stoppage in sink, toilet and tub. The tech came looked around jiggled didn't even try to snake the drains. Then left I waited for 3 days without any calls from the company. When I called I was told the lines were broken and that's not covered. I wanted a second opinion since I replaced all my exterior lines only 2 years prior. Guess what... Sink (stopped up by a band-aid), toilet (dog chew toy) and bathtub (hair). And of course I had to pay for it out of pocket but not a broken pipe anywhere.
Now my AC has stopped cooling. I called. I was told the condenser is going out. It's old and brittle so it's not covered. I am again asking for a second opinion. What is this company good for, you'll only have peace of mind until you have to use the service... Talk about a false sense of security. I in NO WAY suggest this company. I feel let down and aggravated. I would rather deal with long hold times and higher rates with AHS I at least got 90% of my repair claims approved and with little hassle. What's the point of cheaper rates if claims keep getting denied...? If the unit doesn't get repaired or replaced. I'll be switching to another company but I will make sure to spread the word about the uselessness of this company in all ways I have available to me.

Last 2 claims were bad. Took too long. 8 to 10 days. Technicians were poor and did not know what they were doing. Customer service for Choice Home Warranty is also is not the best but what can you do? It a sad affair.

Well the service tech showed 3 days after the original call. He went on to say that the refrigerant lines were blocked and the high and low sides were equalized. In any refrigeration equipment the high and low sides will equalize over time. How could he tell the refrigerant lines were blocked when the compressor would not start. Last but not least when they requested service records I had my serviceman submit a letter, he is licensed and insured but that was no good. FORGET CHOICE WARRANTY FOR A/C REPAIR BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT FIX IT.

This was the worst experience I had with CHW. It has been a week and my AC has NOT been repair. I am sick of going back and forth with CHW and the service guy. I have called CHW every day this week and nothing has been done.

I was pleased with the quick response from Choice and from SOS mechanical HVAC. The problem was with wires on top of the unit that came loose and shorted. SOS Mechanical called for approval but there was an agonizingly long hold time of 32 minutes before the call was answered by Choice. It was approved and work was completed quickly.

I have called in for someone to come and fix my air conditioner. I have had to call three times and no one has come to fix my air condition as of yet. It has been like a whole week and no one has come fix my air conditioner. Every time I call to CHW they tell me that the work order is up but no one has taken the work order. I am in a hot house. Is 89° outside so you can Imagine how hot it is in your house. I need someone now. I had no idea I had to wait a week or two weeks for someone to come and fix my air condition. I am very upset.

Specifically, I am very dissatisfied with the service we have received related to our HVAC systems. You had a technician come out that didn't think to bring a basic 6' ladder, misdiagnosed the problem in an attempt to charge me for an unnecessary leak test, tried to charge me for a return trip to come back with the ladder, then reported to you that he had completed the repairs when he hadn't. My outside technician was able to determine the actual problem and repair it within 30 minutes. On another property under a different contract, a different technician came out, also diagnosed that a leak test needed to be done. The same outside technician came out to follow up, was unable to locate the leaks that your technician found, added about a pound of Freon, and we haven't had any problems since that would have been indicative of the leaks that your technician claimed to have found.
3 Stars on Customer Service--I have been satisfied with customer service in that I feel like you do try assist when I call, but you don't go out of your way to provide me with a better than average experience. 1 Star on Value--The value in your service just isn't there. What we expected was the ability to have quality technicians come out and help us manage the repairs at our rental properties. Instead you have created a system that doesn't allow your technicians to actually repair anything. To paraphrase from a commercial I saw on TV, your technicians are repair monitors. They show up, determine the problem, then have to leave and call you to get permission to repair the issue. This turns the repair process into something that can take days to resolve. My money is better spent getting relationships in place with my own stable of repair technicians.
1 Star on Coverage--If I could, I'd give 0 stars, but I realized that my problem was not reading the fine print. When we read the fine print after a repair was declined because items like faucets aren't covered, then this whole thing become worthless. The purpose of the 5 home warranty contracts was to give our tenants a convenient way to get issues repaired in the home. We have had some service calls that met my expectation of the service, but overall it has not. As a result, we will not be renewing any of our contracts.

First, I want to say that you have a terrible HVAC contractor in Scottsdale. Just Better Air Conditioning does not know what they are doing. I had to bring in my own technician to do the work and he got the AC up and running in an hour. You don't pay for leak tests, which would have cost me $305/per unit out of pocket (both units were down). Yet you refused to pay for refrigerant based on a competent technician's years of experience.
I had to wait 30 minutes to talk to someone to get authorization and then took a lot of my technician's time asking for information you should have had from previous service. One of the AC units was serviced by your technician about a month ago. Moreover, my tenant had to wait two days to get an appointment. Then when Just Better Air came out, he said he couldn't do the work and couldn't come back for two days. If I had them back instead of my own technician, they would have come back done the diagnosis and then had to wait for authorization. In the meantime the house would have been without air for a week in 100 degree temps.

Called 6 times. Was on hold for at least 40 minutes every time. First Plumber told us 2600 to replace sewer line and he said Choice Warranty refused to pay 'cause it is not on contract. I had to get my own Plumber which charges me 525 and fixed the problem. Had to call them to get approval to pay my plumber. Kept me online for 45 minutes and said, "Go ahead." An hour later I see an approval check for $135. Worst company ever. They will hang up on you and won’t help you. Stay awayyy.

I had requested a copy of my contract. I received a generic contract that did not specify the amounts for annual coverage or for specific appliances. I will wait to review my contract before determining if the annual coverage is $15,000 and if this amount can be utilized for any covered item as long as the annual amount is not exceeded. Someone may feel to provide me with this information via email prior to receipt of my contract. It would be helpful if the sales personnel would listen first to the potential client and the needs of the client. Sort of a hard over-sell.

Choice Home Warranty advertises peace of mind for costly home and appliance repairs, but when it comes to filing a claim for an expensive repair be prepared to jump through hoops just to ultimately be denied. When my ac compressor failed although listed as a covered item, CHW had me pay for several service technicians to evaluate. When the compressor was determined to be faulty they demanded years of previous maintenance records, something not specified as required in my contract. Even after producing the service history they denied my claim without providing any specific details. They refused to refund my service fees even though they did nothing. This company collects money under false pretenses & uses deceptive advertising to mislead consumers. If you research company you will see they lost a class action suit accusing them of this very same offense, yet they continue to do business in the same manner.

My dishwasher was broken, you sent someone to come. However, that company said they could not fix it. So I paid $45 for someone to come visit my house but nothing gets fixed. Second time, there was a leak in my tub, again your company sent someone. And again, they said they can not fix it. Another $45 paid just for someone to come visit my house. That is not fair for me. Why am I paying so much money to you guys and all you send are people to just come and visit my house BUT NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. Stay away!!! Choice does NOT follow their user agreement you receive. If they agree to cover your repair/replacement, they do not reimburse you as it is stated in the guidelines. I'd suggest you keep looking or not getting a home warranty, because you WILL be paying out of pocket for repairs with Choice. In addition to that, representatives lie by omission and supervisors of the Resolution Team (Lanesha) are disrespectful, rude, and do not resolve anything.

Contacted Choice Home Warranty on 6-23-18 about my issue. Sent a technician that I paid $60.00. His diagnosis was incorrect. Another tech. was sent to me few days later, he came but didn't do any diagnosis only to said that the unit was okay by listening to the vibration on the A/C. The last one came and said that the unit have a Indoor Motor Blower problem. Suggested that the Motor needs to be replaced. I decided to get the service of Michael & Son Company for accurate diagnosis - Result was the Motor Blower and I paid $110.00.
I contacted Choice Home Warranty with result, but was told that another technician will be coming to my house. Making a total of 5 Technicians. One of the technician came to my house to fix the A/C but came with a Used Motor which did not fit my Unit. He took my old Motor away plus the A/C internal part of the Motor. The same guy came to my house today to fix the unit without properly notifying me that he was coming over. He left my house without installing the Motor because I asked him as to why he did not notify me or call me because I was on my way to Washington Hospital Center for my appointment. He got upset using profanity language even when I told him to proceed with installation and that I will cancel the appointment.
Again, we do not have A/C in our house since 6-23-18 till today-7-11-18 due to problem of Choice Home Warranty of sending over different technicians and not following up with solving problem. I am totally disappointed with the service that I am receiving from CHW. My still remain HOT as I am writing this review. Several times, staff hang up on me on the phone more than 5 times.

One air conditioner stopped. The original call went smoothly on Friday night, but when I needed to reach Choice Warranty on Saturday, I was on hold for over a 1/2 hour and then while I was talking to Brandy, we were disconnected and not called back. Another 1/2 hour plus on hold and Takira was unable to give me any alternatives other than wait for Roberts Air to come out. I realized the outage occurred on a weekend, and finally was able to have a technician come out Monday instead of Tuesday.

I purchased a home warranty with CHOICE Home Warranty company because they were rated as one of the best. I paid for the warranty for three years upfront. Shortly after getting the warranty I had a claim for one of my air conditioner units which they denied! The technician they sent said the A/C unit had not been working for over a year. Claim denied and it came out of my pocket to replace the unit. Recently I had another claim for the second AC unit. My technician said it was leaking oil from the coils and the compressor was out. Choice has twice cancelled my claim. I have had to contact them twelve times to see how my claim stands. They have spoken to my AC technician three times and put him on hold one time for 45 minutes. As of today two weeks later my AC is still out. I am going to have to contact an attorney it seems. I don't know who gives these ratings for these particular companies but I do know they are not reality.

1 month wait for service. I signed up for this service this morning under false pretenses. I am unable to utilize the service as other occupants of our triplex are not and will not become members. In addition, I have now spent 35 minutes on the phone on hold waiting to speak to someone to cancel my warranty. If we were not already prepared to cancel membership, we would be after such inconvenient customer service experience. Might we suggest more manpower?

Called for help. Not Prompt service For AC. Sent someone who had to come out twice to fix issue. No parts needed to be replaced. I did pay for extra freedom on my dime. Little over $160. Then I was told that coils need cleaning. This was suspicious because they were less than two years old and I get my unit serviced 2-3 times a year. So I called a reputable AC company. Pictures don’t lie. Clean and good. No charge from them.
So what did I learn? I’m spending money with a company for EMERGENCY SERVICE that I will NOT receive. Stop the scams. Is this how you treat your vets. Is this how you treat Americans. Hands down this is the first time I have been completely let down by this company. I’d rather pay more with someone else who gets the right people on time and in a hurry. Shame on you Choice Home Warranty.

Terrible company. The employees in customer service are rude. Had to wait over 30 minutes on the phone anytime I called to get anyone on the phone. Called because my dishwasher wasn't working, no power so I requested an electrician. I received an appointment that was a week out. Shortly after my refrigerator and half the plugs in my kitchen quite working and called and said I would have liked someone to come out sooner. They wouldn't contact another company and told me to wait. I also asked them to fix my claim because they put in there that the dishwasher was leaking, and it wasn't and add the other issues that developed, they refused to do that. The electrician never showed up for my appointment so I called him and he said that he didn't even accept the work order and refused to work with Choice Home Warranty.
I called the warranty company back and was told that they didn't have a technician in my area and that I would just have to wait until they found someone but they were unable to give me a time frame as to when they would have someone out. I asked for a manager who told me that that it's not that they didn't have anyone it's just that everyone was booked out more than two weeks and they wouldn't schedule an appointment that far out. I was then told that I could call an electrician and have them come out, pay for it and wait for a reimbursement.
I didn't purchase a home warranty to have to wait and see if they decide to reimburse me. I then asked how much I would receive back of the $450 I paid and they said they would only refund me $103, after having the warranty for around 3 months. I would like them to schedule an appointment to have someone come out or refund my entire balance so I can pay an electrician since that can't seem to find one in my area.
I have had an electrician come out to diagnose the problem and I called Choice Home Warranty to tell them what the problem was and see if it would be covered for reimbursement. They would not tell me if the problem would be covered and said that the technician had to submit a report to them for the reimbursement process. The electrician I call said that he would not work with Choice Home Warranty. I called every electrician in my area and they were all unwilling to work with Choice.
I tried to get Choice to work with me, I would submit the receipt or whatever they needed in order to get the work done, pay for it myself and have Choice reimburse me. They would not accept anything from me but they insist on speaking to and getting reports for the electric company directly. My home warranty is basically useless when it comes to any electrical problem. I believe that Choice is unable to abide by the terms set forth in their contract. They cannot find an electrician to come out. It's not my fault the electrical companies here do not want to work with Choice and Choice is absolutely unwilling to work with me in any way on getting reimbursed.
Updated on 07/18/2018: 2nd Electric Company canceled the appointment stating that after they read the contract Choice Home Warranty makes their technicians sign they do not want to do business with them. Claim was filed on 6/29. It's now 07/17 and they still have yet to find anyone to come out. Will not respond to BBB complaint as the first offer they made was unacceptable.

I have had other pleasant experiences with Choice. However, this one was a nightmare. The first technician didn’t show up at all so choice sent another out. The next one kept rescheduling appointments but after I waited all day for them to come out. I had to call choice numerous times to finally get a resolution. The resolution was me finding my own company to come out. By now I have been without hot water for 10 days.

Bathroom exhaust fan to analyze and replace tool. Over 10 days your company could not get emails of the pictures of the fan for your approval. Was a very low cost part. When I contacted Choice, it was my first time & all I had wanted was a price quote for home warranty on our house, since ours was expiring in a month. The Agent I spoke with seemed very nice at first & gave me what I wanted but then the sales pitches started. I wasn't planning on making the purchase right away & next thing I know, I'm getting roped into buying with you for the 1 year since the price kept getting lower. THAT wasn't the end of it though & this where I started to get pissed off with your Agent.
Next came the sales pitch to purchase the 5 year plan. I said no thanks... then came 6the constant pitches for WHY NOT... WHY NOT. Let me get you a better deal yet, then another better deal. I constantly said no thanks. Then came the next set of sales pitches for the 3 year plan. And even before he could start telling me about them, I stopped him & said no thanks, I don't want this. THAT wasn't enough! He kept coming at me, over & over again, telling me about the 3 year plan. AGAIN, WHT NOT, WHY NOT. At this point I was absolutely annoyed and ready to cancel the entire thing since it sure felt as if you didn't want my business for just the one year I wanted to purchase!
FINALLY, after telling this Agent that I absolutely do not want anything but the 1 year, THAT'S when I get his attitude as you could hear him get grumpy & acted as if I had just wasted his time, and his last comment was something very basic as he was now ready to end the call with me, telling me I'll receive my email shortly. This couldn't have been any ruder of a way to end this absolutely sickening phone call of nothing more than a sales pitch to constantly try to suck even more money out of us! We are so disgusted with this, that we are planning on cancelling this policy before it even starts in August!
I certainly don't appreciate a business who obviously doesn't care about their customers who don't buy into the Agents long sales pitch to get you to spend as much as they possibly can! If I don't receive some sort of call from management there, to help me cancel this policy yet today, as well as to apologize for your Agents such ridiculous behaviour, then I'll be calling at some point to make sure it gets done. I would much rather pay my renewal price with my previous company, than to pay less with this company & receive this type of behaviour each time I have to call, or renew! So very disgusted, & will make certain Consumer Reports Magazine changes their magazine about you having such a high rating!

It took them over a week to get someone to out to help us. They did not get the case assigned to a contractor until almost 3 days after the initial report. They said someone would pick up the ticket with 6 hours and it ultimately took 3 days. Then they scheduled two different contractors for the same time the Wednesday (a week later) and one contractor contacted us on Friday saying that they will get us in on Sunday.
We moved things around to have them and on Sunday morning, they called and said we were cancelled and could not be accommodated. The contractor was HAUGSTAD HVAC. They are unscrupulous in their dealings and I would never deal with them again. They lied time and again, they claimed that could tried to fit us in and was not a surety when I have a recorded voicemail from Nicole confirming the time of the appointment. When I tried to get clarifications, it just led to more lies. Then finally, Belton services was engaged and Mike from Belton did a good job in getting us past the issue. The whole process was a nightmare with little support from Choice.

A claim was submitted because the air conditioning unit had stopped producing cold air. The technician responded quickly by phone, but was slow to arrive to my home. He quickly inspected the AC unit and determine with a few minutes that the condenser was the problem and stated to me that it need replacement. When he called the company, he was told to take pictures of the outside unit and the inside unit and spent a long time going back and forth with someone from company on the phone. The inspection last more than 1 1/2 hours. I knew then that it appears that the company was looking for a reason not repair or replace the unit. So I asked the technician was the decision and the problem and he became very elusive and continued to tell me to wait until I get a response from company office. This lack of transparency was unsettling and stressful.
The technician would not repair the unit and before he left he wrote up a receipt for his service call and request that I give him only cash. His service receipt on mentioned that the condenser was not working and the unit was low on R22 refrigerant, and would need to be replaced. The next day I received an email that stated the following, which was not in the service tech report: "It has been determined the condenser coil has developed a refrigerant leak which requires replacement. Condenser coils that leak have been exposed to corrosive or acidic materials that have infiltrated the fins and transfer tubes, damaging the integrity of the coil. The acidic agents cause sections of the coil to become corroded and/or rusted, causing the development of pinhole or microscopic leaks. This refrigerant leak has caused the compressor to overwork, overheat and fail as it was running on low refrigerant levels."
An appeal was filed on the basis that the system stopped working because of normal wear and tear of the unit and requested that the unit be repaired. The next day, I received a message from the Case Manager that my contract stated in another section not connected to the Excluded items for AC unit, that the company does not cover corrosion, although the Case Manager admitted that it is unexpected wear and tear. Each time I asked what is covered then, I kept being referred to read my contract, a strategy to shift the burden to the customer and to let you know that you are one who is responsible for everything and not the company. So I asked about other units in the home, such as the washer and dryers, stove, washing machine, dishwasher, and all I kept being told is to read the contract. It's pretty clear that what is written is not necessarily what they will cover. It appears that the entire team is wired to find a way to deny claims.
When the salesman was contacted who sold me the policy, he quickly responded that if I do not like the plan, I am free to cancel it. It appears he did not care whether he kept me as customer. Basically the message in his behavior is that you can take or leave it, in a very abrupt, non-customer friendly, defensive manner. The feeling I got from everyone I contacted was a sense of distrust, increase stress induction, no sense of a guarantee of customer satisfaction, and no sense that company cared about customers and only about avoiding spending and lost. So I decided to cancel the agreement and then got the biggest slap in the face. I received two phone calls from the sales team to upgrade the policy while the Case Manager told me that I would have to pay $50 dollars to cancel the contract because there is a non-cancelable clause in the agreement. That feels like extortion.
In other words, you cannot cancel the contract unless you pay them. ADVICE: 1. Please read the Cancellation clause; 2) Understand the Liability Limitations because when you sign the agreement you essentially waiving a lot rights demanding payment and legal action; 3) Look at the total amount that you can mediate, which is about $1500; 4) Know the difference between a service agreement and warranty. I would not recommend this company to anyone I know. Their marketing and sales tactics have undertones of misleading information that are not aligned with the culture they pretend to have.

Signed up for Choice Home Warranty over the phone. Never received any paperwork on what is and is not covered. Policy states that plumbing and plumbing systems are covered. I experience a leak from a pipe in the ceiling I was told that because I have steel pipes my claim is denied. My home was built in the 1920s. It has steel and copper piping. First sentence of plumbing under the warranty state "Leaks and breaks of water, drain, gas, waste or vent lines, except if caused by freezing or roots. –" further down they disclaim galvanized pipes. I called to complain and was liken to someone calling their auto insurance company to get their car repaired when it breaks down. I found the comment both condescending and disrespectful. I hope they don't talk to all their customer this way. I believe my complaint to legitimate and worthy of a better response. I will be reviewing whether or not to renew with this company. Very rude.

I have since found a company that will offer me a lower cost for the same services along with a lower service fee so I will be canceling my policies. This has nothing to do with Shawn. The fan motor on the heat pump to the master bedroom makes a bad noise and smells. They repaired it and was over the weekend but they got to it monday and had it finished. Great job. I have air now.

I made a claim for my hot water heater - denied. I made a claim for the A/C unit in my rental property - also denied. The reasons for denial are ludicrous and plenty. I will be looking for a company to replace CHW and will not be using them for my other properties. I'll definitely discourage anyone else from contracting with them either. The fees are charged easily enough but the benefits are impossible to get. Can I give less than 1 star?

I have been a long time automatic paying customer of a competitor company covering 5 different homes since 1986. I decided to review my options for home warranty service and Wayne really helped me. The salesman sold us our policy and told us that it included everything with our pool. We had to replace the salt water chlorinator and they did not cover it. Later we had an issue with our air conditioner. They sent someone who said there was an issue with the compressor but the company would not cover it and I would need to replace the AC. I read the policy which said the compressor was covered and called. They said it was covered, but would need to be approved and the serviceman would have to come back. I called back to see if it was approved and they said yes it was, but no one ever came back or responded. I had another company come out and figured out that all I needed was a new thermostat. I do not recommend Choice Home Warranty at all.

It took a little longer because of the weather. The technician from Haugstad was very knowledgeable. I was very satisfied. If I ever have a problem with AC, heating or refrigerator I would prefer Haugstad. I Know it is hard to get the same company but we should have the opportunity to request someone. Thank you.

You do not want to publish this. I am not disappointed with Choice Home Warranty, I am very disappointed with the service provider you sent out. After visiting with my HVAC and notifying me that my condenser died in temperatures of 110 degrees and that he was going to get me the best price for a part and installation that is covered under your policy - I called your company and was reassured that this was covered - the service provider's offices advised me contrary to this.
At 84+ and a heart patient with quintuple by-pass surgery and with recent 3 stints there was no way that I was going to be able to survive the heat. I was left with having to have the part installed, as well as other required piece of equipment and the new wiring that went with it by another service provider all at the cost of $4,100. I appreciate that you will re-reimburse me the cost of the part $700 but that was not what I signed up and prepaid for 3.5 years. I had pre-advised you of the necessity for service but it was not forth-coming at a time of my need. I never want to see that service provider at my home again for any reason. I recommend that you choose another company because Choice Home Warranty does not pay its claims. I got this policy on a rental and waited past the 30 day period before using them. My tenants complained that the AC unit was running loud. So the technician that the company had selected came out and said the compressor was going bad.
The technician recommended that the unit be replaced. I had always maintained the unit, I cleaned it annually and cleaned the filters a couple of times each year. This policy does not even pay for the full cost to replace it but only $2000 on what would be a $4500 bill. Within an hour they sent me an email denying the claim with what appeared to be a prepared denial letter. When I called to cancel the policy I was put on hold and hung up on about 6 times before they finally cancelled it. Again choose another company. I don't want to name drop but there is another one out there with high ratings who I now use and am very satisfied.

I signed up in May, 2018 and they customized my package since I didn't need everything they included plus I had some extras. That part was good and I only had to pay $45 for a service call. About a month and a half later my refrigerator started to act up so I called and they said they would assign someone to check it out. I waited a few days and then got a someone assigned. They emailed me a date, (you don't get to choose) and as soon as I saw it I immediately called the company to tell them I needed to reschedule. I had to leave a voice message. The day of my originally scheduled appt they called at 10:47 am to see if anyone would be home within the next and to call to let them know. I came back early from my vacation, I just had a feeling and had just missed the call by about 5 minutes, so I immediately called the phone number and told them I would be here. My window was 11 am to 4 pm. They never returned my call and never showed up.
I called Choice Home Warranty and the rep tried to call the company and he had to leave a voice mail also. He said to wait since I had until 4 pm. I did and they never showed. I called Choice Home Warranty to let them know to cancel my policy and they convinced me to let them try again and my first service call was free so I gave them another chance. A week goes by and I get an email stating that they are trying to get somebody and I would have a choice of reimbursement if I got my own company. Wasn't chancing it at this point. So today I get an email that Sears is coming but this time I have to pay $45 since "I" missed my appt. Yeah right!
I called Choice Home Warranty today and told them I'm done, I'm fed up with the bull and misleading me. I felt like this was done on purpose. They waited until my 2nd payment went through before they found someone who can't come out until the 19th of July. They in my opinion are very misleading or the people they have who represent them are. I cancelled my policy and told them they should at least refund my payment from yesterday since they could not accommodate me and he rudely said, "You get no refunds!" I stated I wanted an email showing where my policy was cancelled in print. At this point I don't trust them.

My orig service I called 6-14, got scheduled for 6-26. On 6-26 the tech canceled. Told me to reschedule my call with Choice. I was responded to with a 2 day wait. On day tech arrived I told him what I found wrong, ref. Leaked all refrigerant had leaked at the outdoor section. I was told leak test not included. Choice will call. While here tech took pic of indoor coil and reported to Choice with pics. Tech was here less than 15 mins. I never received a call from Choice until I made hot response e-mails, I found the leak and told Choice. I was told a tech will be here in 2 days. When he looked, he said, "Yes it's a leak," and left. Said Choice will call me, again thru e-mail back and forth.
I was told by Choice the leak is not covered due to corrosion at which time I sent pic showing no corrosion at all, but Choice kept responding corrosion not covered. On July 2nd I fixed the leak and had to fix my own system cause they would not, even with proof/pics showing no corrosion, so I sent cost of repair for reimbursement and was denied for any assistance, also the perfect air tech requested me to make my service check to a person not the company which is tax evasion. My cost was 2 plus weeks with a hot house and wife. I will never advise anyone to purchase Choice Home Warranty services.

A/C BROKE DOWN ON A FRIDAY NIGHT 108 DEGREES. The Choice rep named Wyatt approved an emergency appointment with my local tech as long as he called upon his arrival Saturday morning for an authorization number, for Choice Home's tech would not be out for 4 days. (Ridiculous!) My tech arrived at 7:00 a.M. Cst Saturday morning as promised. I called Choice Home who kept me on hold so long, my tech finished the repairs, couldn't sit and wait any longer for Choice to pickup the phone so he left after I paid him $240.00.
Choice would not reply to my email I sent while I was on hold either. Then 2 weeks later denied to pay anything towards our claim stating "no authorization number," how convenient!!! They could of issue an authorization number Friday night while I had Wyatt on the phone or they could of called my home at 7:00 A.M. CST to approve it! (But that would of been real customer service!) Bottom line, this is just another scam warranty fly by night who will just change their name after they screw all the customers they can and run out of members! Save your time and money, don't even think about this company.

This was our first claim and so far it had just been an okay experience. I put the claim in on a Thursday and it was the following Saturday before we got the garage fixed only after having to handle it myself and do a reimbursement claim. With American Home Shield at my old house things were done in a couple days and I never had to go through a reimbursement claim. I am still waiting to see how fast the reimbursement goes through. Also I find it ridiculous that you all weren't able to get someone to do the claim through you all so you make me handle it myself but yet I still had to have the technician call you all to tell you what was needed to be fixed and how. Especially since I was on hold for over 30 minutes to get ahold of a claims specialist which made the garage technician have to leave for another job and come back later.

Both these items, my refrigerator and dishwasher were claimed in early May. Hamilton Home Appliances was assigned to both and deemed the dishwasher unfixable and needed to get a part for the refrigerator. When I contacted Hamilton's technician he said he could no longer work for Choice. I then had to get back with Choice and finally technicians were assigned from Sears Home Services, but 2 separate Claims because Sears did not have a technician that could do both. The first Claim be Sears on the dishwasher was also unfixable and I am still waiting for my $250 settlement which I believe to be low but better than the oven claim I had to make last year.
I finally got another technician from Sears, Mark **. He found the part and was calling in for your authorization but the called failed. He had to leave. I got through after 8 attempts and your agent apparently established authorization. I will call Sears Home Services to confirm this on Monday, 9 July, 2018. I hope to finally have my refrigerator fixed after 2 months of waiting. So what do you think of my experience.

I have very bad experience with this company and their coverage. If you think that you are buying a home warranty so in case if any appliance fails it will be repaired then just it is a wishful thinking. I had recently two claims one for a sump pump and home AC unit cooling failure. Both claims were rejected because the sump pump that was covered was actually a sewage pump (they never clarify this whether you have a sump pump or a sewage pump in your home) second that in AC unit capacitor was blocked by particles thus it is not a normal wear and tear so they refused to replace the capacitor (cost $12.00) and filling the Freon that was blocked by getting air intake.
In my experience the home appliance warranty is just a trap to lure naive customers so be careful if you are thinking to purchase a home appliance warranty and must read very carefully the terms and conditions which unfortunately are not available at the time of purchasing the policy. If you visit the website you will not find the details of the coverage for each appliance so you are kept in complete dark until you buy the policy. You find this when you make a claim.

I purchased this warranty two months ago for the home that we were moving into. I had a problem with my air conditioner. It was cooling, but the compressor would never shut off. I ended up with a $200 electric bill for less than 700 square feet! I called the warranty company. They arranged an appointment with a company. The day the company was supposed to be out here, I get a call from the company saying that their technician had a family emergency and they needed to reschedule for the next day. I agreed. The next day they call me and say that their technician had been injured on the job. What, they only have one technician? This was July 2nd. So now they weren't going to be able to get out until July 5th. I said, "Forget it." and called the warranty company back. They assigned another company. They were supposed to be out here yesterday between 9 a.m. and noon.
At 11:40, I called and said that I assumed they weren't going to be out by noon as they were to give me a half-hour lead phone call. They said 'oh no, we've been swamped and he won't be out there with till about 1:30'. I said that it would have been nice to have a phone call so I didn't have to sit around all morning. He got out here and supposedly fixed the main problem, but I didn't have air conditioning now. There was no blower. The tech tried to say that the blower wasn't working when he got here. He even told his boss that the blower had never worked. At one point, there was heat coming out of the ducts. He then said it was the wire between the thermostat and the air conditioner and it was going to cost $636 to replace and the warranty company wasn't going to cover it. I said, "Forget it and put the unit back the way it was." He refused. He then proceeds to put the cover back on the unit and didn't even put the screws back in.
He said he wasn't going to wait for hours and he was going to go get something to eat. He leaves my house in Florida on a 94 degree day with no air conditioning. I have four animals. He never came back. I called the repair company and told them I wanted the old part back. I was told it would be brought back later that night. It was never returned. I called Choice Home Warranty, they said the wire wasn't covered because that was electrical, not part of the air conditioner. I then called my own guy. He was out within two hours and within 30 minutes found the problem. It was a capacitor and a relay. He had my unit fixed. I have now canceled my policy but had to pay a cancellation fee of over $100. This is a total rip-off. Beware.

Due to the fourth of July they were not suppose to come until on Friday, but the man called on Thursday and said he was on the way. What a blessing and he was very nice and had my unit running in about two hours. He had to replace a part and it did not take long. The unit needed replacing. Even per your recommendation. Yet you consider it an upgrade and only pay about 30% of the bill for the compressor only. I had the lowest quote, even lower than your technician to fix the issue. I know per your guidelines this is called an upgrade, in the real world it's called fixing the problem because installing a new compressor would not have worked and neither your company or the technician recommend this. Also the last day of trying to get this resolved, I was disconnected 4 times with your regular toll free number prompt for claims with no call back after being connected. I was provided a nonworking number to contact my case manager by 2 of your representatives. To be eventually told it was the right number and ext. But you were having phone issues.

Until the part arrives and is installed, I can't give an accurate rating on value and coverage. He was an hour late and I had to call him to find out when he would actually arrive. I purchased a Home Warranty Insurance from Choice Home company. When I was searching the company quote online, the customer service representative took only 20 seconds to call me and gain my business, but when requesting their service (to report Claim) I get 2 minutes voicemail, and the machine hangup. However, I made the claim online. I have not heard from anyone yet. It has been 1 day. I feel like the is this company is a scam. I hope this review will be a learning experience for other consumers.

They say they will cover the major appliances including air, heat, water heater, etc. But when an individual needs a failure fixed or repaired this company relies on deceptive wording to deny the repair. My claim was denied because of lack of experience of the serviceman. So I contacted y'all. Spoke with Miss Nicole ** about the problem. She said she would contact the serviceman and call me back. Didn't hear from her after the second day so I call about 4 or 5 time. Left massage. Still did not hear from her so I just call as I want to buy a new policy. Once I got someone I told them to cancel my policy. I was connect to Miss **. She was very helpful and concern. She is the only reason I keep my policy. She at least look into the problem and send a new one. I was trying to tell y'all why my claim should not have been denied.

When I called for service I told the agent that I had 2 toilets that were leaking and my garbage disposal wasn't working. He did not inform me that the service charged double. When the service guys arrived they told me they had only one toilet to be repaired and I would have to call Home to get the other toilet approved, I was not informed then that it was a 2nd charge, it was not until I was paying that I would be charged twice. Totally frustrated with claim service! Submitted claim and was assigned inspector, inspector showed up on time but... He did not have any testing equipment or knowledge regarding my issue. He responded to Choice Home Warranty that the problem was handled. He did not submit any information that needed to be submitted. Choice closed my claim. After repeated calls and long phone holds, Choice twice told me they were waiting for the inspector to reply. Finally got through to Choice that I still had the problem, another inspector was assigned. I waited 4 hours (11:00 AM to 3:00 PM) and inspector was an no show. At this point I feel I am not getting any of the service that I was assured I would receive when I signed up for a 3 year contract. I feel that Choice is a total RIP OFF!!!

We had a large leak in our plumbing. Damaged drywall, flooring, and ceiling in all 3 floors of our home. We had to turn off the water to our home. They could not get a technician out to us for 6 days! SIX DAYS without water with 4 kids living in our home. UNACCEPTABLE! They told us we could get our own technician out and they would reimburse us. When we did that they only offered to reimburse us half of what we were going to pay. They are horrible at returning calls. They don't want to cover anything. They never let you speak to manager. NEVER have I had a good experience with them! DO NOT USE THEM!

Choice Home Warranty sent a service technician out to see why my air conditioning unit was not cooling. The service technician diagnosed the problem provide me a receipt of service came back the next day to install the parts. After installing the new parts some kind of way he shorted the air compressor and tripped the electrical outlet, the air compressor was never an issue but after installing the parts and tripping the electrical outlet the air compressor stopped working and the fan stopped turning which both were working prior. He advised he would contact Choice and advise them of my new issue he left my resident and said he would get back with me.
I contacted Choice to see what next steps would be I was advised that I needed to wait for the technician to contact them. I kept getting the runaround from the technician stating he contacted Choice and Choice saying they are waiting for the technician to provide tag number from the unit but that the compressor would be covered. After this run around game for 2 days and me waiting a total of 1 hours each time I call after calling about 5 times to speak with someone, I asked to Choice customer service agent to assign a new technician to come out and read the tag number.
When the new agent came out he reviewed everything and advised the compressor was the issue. We explained the compressor was working prior to the previous technician coming out. He was able to verify the wiring of the parts being installed incorrectly and the tripping of the electrical outlet. He advised that he would put everything in the notes and inform Choice. At that time Choice denied replacing my compressor stating grounding issue. I filed a complaint. Spoke with Bree case manager. She said there was nothing she could do after I explained to her the entire situation. She said Choice is not responsible if a technician comes to my home and does not fix my appliance but further damages it. I asked to speak with someone else. She said she is have the only 1 who could assist me.

Was advised that Choice Home Warranty could not find a vendor to fix my A/C. Was directed by e-mail to find my own and I would be reimbursed! Contractor has to call for “authorization“! Well 23 minutes on hold and contractor finished work in 10 minutes! (Capacitor was replaced) He couldn’t wait and now claim was denied! They failed me by not providing a contractor and then they failed me by denying a simple $65 part claim! Plus service fee! Awful customer service too! I had the worst experience with my first claim with your company. The customer service was horrible and insensitive. I was on hold for an hour the 1st time I called. 1 1/2 hr the second time, another 1 and 45 mins another time. When I call they don't even listen to what I have to say before transferring me to claims. You sent me a fly by night contractor who did not diagnose my problem completely which caused you to deny my claim. I had to pay $65 to have a reputable contractor come out and diagnose the right problem and you approved it then. But then I had to wait a whole 30 days to get re-imbursed $250 of the $350 he charged me from my warranty that I pay for monthly. This was my first time and last time with this company because this was a poor representation of your company that I DO NOT wish to deal with in the future.

We ended up calling him when he wasn't there at 9am. He showed up at 10am in his car and no logo vehicle and no logo shirt. He asked for a shop vac which I didn't have but found a vac out in the garage. He said it was a shop vac and used it to suck out the water in the dishwasher but it wasn't a wet/dry vac and nasty water sprayed everywhere on the floor. I had to find and grab towels and help him with the mess. He figured out the pump was bad in the dishwasher. So as far as a repair person is concern, he's doable, but he's a little disorganized and he should carry his own tools (wet vac).

I reported a problem with the washer not completing cycles. Within a couple of days two technicians responded and first diagnosed that the timer may be bad, but before ordering the part tried a couple of quick alternate remedies. What they found was the cold water intake screen was partially blocked; cleaned it and ask that I try to use the machine. Machine now functions properly and I now know what to check as a routine owner maintenance item. Thanks!

I purchased a two-year home warranty for my residence and pay for the warranty in full. My central air conditioning unit stopped Cooling the end of June. I filed a claim to have it repaired and it took them a week to get a repairman out to see my air conditioner. I live in Las Vegas and the average temperature was 104 during that week. Within 2 hours after the time that repairman was there Choice had emailed me denying my claim. My central heating and air conditioning unit is 8 years old. Has been maintained annually with a professional Heating and Air company. The machine has not been touched in any way other than the filters changed and per season service. Heat in the fall and air in the spring.

The burner broke on our stove. The technician they sent didn't know what he was doing. It took a month to get it repaired. Called to cancel our policy three times the end of May. They still took out money in July. When I called, they said there was no record of my having spoken to anyone. How can all three people be that incompetent to not record it. They would not give us a refund even though it was their fault. They are one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with.

After spending the previous night going downstairs to use the bathroom, I called Choice Home Warranty to have someone look at my upstairs toilet. I had problems before, but this time I believe it's fixed. Choice Home warranty took my claim and sent Best 1 Plumbing, LLC the same day. The plumber arrived within 3 hours of me calling. He came in, assessed the problem, called Choice Home who approved it immediately. The plumber was finished in 10 minutes. Amazing! Thank you, Choice Home Warranty.

This company is a scam. They do not provide any service. They hide behind a "contract" with every possible loophole that would benefit them as to why they do not have to warranty your claim. Our rep was Tommy **. He did not return emails, messages, or phone calls. He was rude, unprofessional. We used a different phone number to call and finally got a hold of him. He should not be employed in any form of customer service.
We bought a home warranty and after 7 months our AC unit went out. The unit was old but well taken care of. The company claimed it went out because of "normal wear and tear", because there was rust they would not warranty it. What do they expect on a unit outside for 20 plus years in East Texas? And we used an AC cover! The rep basically told us we could appeal the decision and send maintenance records, but it wouldn't change their decision. I said then what's the point of sending it? The whole context of the contract is loopholes. Do not use this company whatever you do! They have horrible ratings on the Better Business Bureau. Do not use!!! They are a scam!

On their website, they say if they cannot repair it they replace it, which is not true. It's a false advertising. This is second time with they did to me. First it was my washer leaked and they came to repair it and they said it's not repairable so the replacement value is 350.00 and I thought it may be true, second time my stove got messed up. I call for service. The technician came, charge me $60.00. and said it's beyond repairable because parts are not available and they offer me $350.00. I search the parts and all the parts are available with Genair but it cost more than $350.00. In my case they actually paying me $290.00 and I am with them for last three years. In three years I had only 2 claims and they don't want pay for that. My suggestion to anyone who is buying this warranty please do not fall into their false advertisement. If you notice on their website you cannot post anything but they have excellent reviews, I can bet all those are fake reviews. I can't not emphasize any more to convince to not to buy this warranty. It's a fraud company.

Do NOT waste your money. I've been with them for a year now and the compressor blew on our a/c unit in the middle of summer in Texas. They're saying it wasn't normal wear and tear so they are refusing to cover it. Every A/C technician that has come through our house in the last couple days has said they are really bad about not covering customers' claims. They sent me out a cheap a/c repairman who was shady and trying to sell me stuff without going through the home warranty. Save your money for a better home warranty where they won't rip you off.

Both encounters were top notch. The persons who arrived were professional, polite, and fixed my problem. However, there is something else that bothers me. Other than the fact that the service provided was excellent, I don't like the $45 your company charges us for each service call visit. This is in addition to paying over a thousand dollars a few months back for a three year service contract (which means I paid for two years in advance!). I ended up spending an additional $90 last month. So, I think the service charge could be more reasonable. Perhaps a maximum of $45 in any month might be more fair. TRUE TESTIMONY - PURCHASE CHOICE HOME WARRANTY AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! I purchased a Choice Home Warranty Plan about 2 yrs ago that covered NOTHING THEY AGREED TO COVER. I called them concerning a refrigerator I recently purchased. The repairman responded promptly and collected the fee and stated the problem (freezer iced over) was not covered because I did not have a previous service record. I called CHW about A/C not cooling. Repairman responded and collected the fee and then said the issue wasn't covered due to no service history.
I provided the company with records of the recent service history and then they found another reason to reject the claim. I called them a third time about a plumbing issue. The repairman responded/collected the fee and diagnosed the issue and promised to return in 3 days to fix the problem. I called him/CHW 2 months before the repairman finally returned. CHW said I had to pay half of the fee to fix the problem in addition to the $65. The ceiling that was leaking in my bedroom started leaking in the hall outside of the bedroom.

The previous owner claimed the Choice Home Warranty was the best thing ever. I've been in the home for a year now and have found the warranty to be absolutely worthless. Buyers... PLEASE read the list of limitations and exclusions VERY CAREFULLY. Essentially, the warranty covers just about nothing. Here's an example of how almost all the parts of a supposedly "covered" appliance are listed in the exclusions: BUILT-IN MICROWAVE INCLUDED: All components and parts, except: EXCLUDED: Doors – Hinges – Handles – Doors – Door glass – Lights – Interior linings – Trays – Clocks – Shelves – Portable or countertop units – Arcing – Meat probe assemblies – Rotisseries.

My central air conditioning unit went out June 15. I submitted my claim to Choice Home Warranty on June 18th. They supposedly scheduled an appointment with a technician on June 22nd, 2018 with a window of 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. I took a half day off of work for my appointment, my window closed and I called the technician to see what happened. The technician returned my call, he stated that Choice had never scheduled any appointments with him and that he received several calls that day regarding appointments from Choice customers. He said he wouldn't be working with Choice in the future due to this.
I waited 3-4 days for Choice to find a replacement technician for me, finally Choice contacted me stating that they could not find anyone to provide me with service, and that I had to go through their reimbursement program. Which meant, I had to find my own technician and I had to pay out of pocket for any repairs, and if the repairs were covered I would be reimbursed in up to 30 days.
I scheduled an appointment with the same technician originally assigned, based on my experience on the phone I decided that I would like to work with him. He found that there was a leak in my system, and that the entire unit needs to be replaced. I submitted the documentation to Choice's reimbursement program; wherein, they stated my claim was rejected because of rust, but that I could appeal the decision. The technician made no mention of rust, so I appealed the decision stating that rust was not listed as a cause of the unit failure in the documents provided by the technician.
Choice Home Warranty determined that the only way for a leak to occur in an Air Conditioning System is due to rust. "While rust and/or corrosion cannot be prevented and normal wear and tear it is a limitation of our coverage. Please refer to your terms and conditions section F number 1; We are not responsible for malfunction or improper operation due to rust or corrosion of all systems and appliances."
I replied to this stating that the cause wasn't determined to be rust by the technician. The correspondent claimed "The only way for coils to leak on a a/c system is if they’re rusted and or corroded." I rebutted this claim stating additional reasons that a leak could occur; worn rubber seals, punctures due to impact damage, etc. I also requested a refund of my policy, since they failed to even provide me with the most basic function of a home warranty, by failing to provide me with a technician. In short, they wouldn't cover my claim based upon unfounded assumptions, and they failed to even provide me with service. I wouldn't recommend working with them. I would avoid Choice Home Warranty at all costs, save your money or go elsewhere!

I had six visits to fix a toilet. It never got fixed. API Plumbing came out twice. The first time he raised his voice and was mean. The second time he told me that I was making him lose money and that he could get killed coming to my house. Then I discovered that he filled my bathtub with black scum. I cleaned it up and noticed my bathtub was chipped. Then I noticed a big hole in my sink. So I called Action Plumbing and I was called every name in the book from an ** to a ** idiot a ** and they hang up on me. Choice has not been any help. Stay away. They are terrible. One vendor told me they suck.

My 1st experience has been a mix of both good and odd. The initial call was excellent. They said I would hear from the vendor within 24 hours. But instead of a phone call to arrange a time to come, I received an email that night for the one time frame I could not be here. I followed up with emails and 3 phone calls and finally spoke to the tech and we were able to meet that morning. He came, took pics and then said he had to get authorization to order the part (washing machine pump??) and would do that immediately. I paid him for the service call and he promised that he would be back either the part ASAP.
Later that Evening, I received a note from Choice that I had missed the appt??? Clearly I had not. Saturday I called choice to explain and got a great! Gal in your phone center. She told me there was no service report in your system. Then called the vendor, ABS, to research and then supplied the report that day. I then received notice of the part authorization. I find the choice service excellent, the vendor probably just got behind, so far so good. The gal in the phone center (nj?) was exceptional!

Atlanta, Ga - First with this company my refrigerator went out. Took them weeks to get back to me. They said it cost too much to repair, so they are gonna send me a check of 380$ to buy a new. Who buys a refrigerator for 380 bucks? Second my AC went. They sent 3 technicians in which I had to pay 65 dollars for them. It took them over a month in this hot summer with my pregnant wife to deny my claim. They said I didn't change my coils and whatever. Some of those things I don't even know what they are, you will have to be a technician to know.
But anyway, that same technician told me, my compressor went out because the unit is over 15 years old and it would be due to wear and tear. I appealed and they denied it. I sent an email to get a copy of their reason for denial and what the tech sent. It's been a week and they have since not respond. If any of you went through the same thing, please reach out to me, I am trying to take legal action for the scam company they are.

On Friday, June 22 I called to report our garage door opener wasn’t working. We couldn’t get anyone to come till Tuesday June 26 and he was an hour late. He wasn’t able to repair and said he would contact you. Two days later I contacted you and he still had not contacted you. A rep from CHW contacted him and authorized a new unit. They are not coming until July 2. I would not use Ace Garage Doors again and am unhappy that you sent them. Our warranty is up for renewal in January and I don’t think I’ll renew.

This is my first claim. I had a clogged drain that should have taken maybe 20 minutes to unclog because it happened twice before since I lived in this house (9 years). The plumber was at my house for five hours. It took him minutes to diagnosis the issue but it took almost two hours to get approval before he could do the work. Then the plumber was there for another three hours. Honestly, I would have preferred to call the plumber I have been using, paying the higher price for him to be in and out. My husband left work early and wasted a half of a day.

I bought this warranty to lessen my stress about appliances and HVAC unit, but since I got them it's been nothing but stress with them besides the long wait time when you call them. But when you finally get someone they have no idea what was communicate to previous agent, but the last straw for me was I put a claim on 5/4/2018 it took them almost two month to come up with a decision on my claim which was denied after I paid all that money every time they sent a contractor and told me I have to make repairs before they can cover me which I did and still denied my claim saying my condenser have rust.
It suppose to have rust. It call wear and tear from all the time it's been working it is ice and water on a metal eventually, so they make you believe everything is cover no matter how old the unit is, but read the small print and don't get sucked into that low fee of $45 when a contractor come to your home. They are the worst and will never refer anyone to them. They do not care about your system working or not. They will drag it out until you are frustrated.

I was using the reimbursement process and was on hold for 25 minutes. This whole time the service man had to wait here just to get someone to talk to and then after we finally got through the questions took another 10 minutes at least to get approval to replace the part. All total that phone call was 36 minutes long. Most service people do not want to wait that long at all.

First, I was pleased with the price and what this policy covered. Second, I was displeased with the badgering I went through with the sales agent that called me. I failed to get his name because he hung up on me when I kept turning down his policy enhancement offers. I tried to tell this person that I only wanted a 1-year policy but he kept on and on with these discounts offered for the 5 and 3 year policies. Fortunately, for CHW, I had already signed up for the policy before the harassment or I may have hung up on this person!
