So far all is good. The rep was very courteous and helpful in getting me signed up. I believe I will be very satisfied with this company. I have already started on friends to get them signed up, I went for the total protection plan and already feel at ease with my choice, not having to worry about where I'm going to get the money if something should go out or wrong.

Did not like that I was reviewing warranty companies online and within 10 seconds got a call. The man was very pushy. I told him I would do it all online, he became upset and got even ruder. I would recommend allowing a customer to the browse online, without the call. They can call you if needed. I almost went to another warranty company as a result of this unwanted call.

The claim process was quick and fast, and service appointment was assigned, but the main reasons I gave a ⭐️ is they need to hire professional to come to people home, this man came to my house with a flip flop on to do plumbing work and he was totally clueless. And it was a very sloppy job, while cutting through the drywall he cut a pipe and my area rug and the dining room is still soaking wet and he left and said nothing about it.

The plumber called me on September 21, 2018 to schedule an appointment with me. The appointment was made the same day. He came on time and unplugged the stoppage and it is working very good. I am happy for the job he did.

The technician, John, was professional and explained every aspect of the repair, which turned into a replacement of the garbage disposal. Since there was a problem with the original appointment date and time, the company was helpful and was able to reschedule was for a day and time that was more convenient. The technician called us several times to let us know how soon he would be able to get to our home. He was friendly and polite. I would recommend his company.

Choice Home Warranty didn't cover the repairs of my broken AC unit. Evap coil is leaking and they said that it is not normal wear and tear. Said pollutants cause the corrosion that lead to the leak. Is any homeowner spraying pollutants on their evap coils? Do we even know what that is to do that? I don't think so. If it is corroded, it happened as a result of natural use of the home and should be covered. They told me they won't and won't even pay to put Freon in it to get it going temporarily. They said I should have read the fine prints. Very shady company and I would not recommend them. They are a poor customer service company.

We are not electricians. When your rep came to the house, my husband said HE THOUGHT it may be a problem in the junction box. That was a GUESS. The rep looked at the junction box, replaced a part and left. Before he got to the corner, the electrical problem reappeared. My husband called him. He was extremely rude and said he wasn't coming back without a work order. After customer service was called (they said he was rude to her too), we asked if they could send someone else. He was a real jerk, rude and very unprofessional. The person on the phone at customer service was outstanding.

The tech was courteous, quick and explained what he did, the reasons why and future concerns. Great visit. The only issue was with the appointment making. When the email said the appointment was, is when I got a call to make the appointment. Luckily I was off the next day.

Our attic fan failed. The company came out and told me what was needed. After the approval was given, he called me and came out on a Sunday to repair it. No one comes out on a Sunday. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed.

I was told that the repairman would be here between 11 and 2, then it was between 8 and 11 and finally between 11 and 3, he arrived at 5:30. My washer cannot be repaired and you are offering me $400 to replace a Maytag Bravos washer that I paid over $800 for, so much for your advertising that you will replace it with a comparable machine, you can't buy an $800 machine with $400. I have a bedridden stroke patient husband that requires a lot of washing, and we receive $1300 a month in Social Security, I bought your service to take care of me if I had problems since I'm 82 years old. I guess I bought into a big advertising ploy that doesn't do what it says it will do. Then I'm told that it will take up to 30 days for you to send a check, that is out of line again with your advertising, that is not repairing or replacing my machine. I will have to take the money I have put back for my taxes to buy a washing machine, then worry about how to pay my taxes.

Your technician was great and really knowledgeable, however your policy has so many waivers, it's impossible to get anything repaired once you understand the exclusions. Not worth the price and have found others with much better coverage even if they're a few dollars more.

I can say for a fact that all the reviews with five stars that say 'This review is featured by Choice Home Warranty' are fake. This is a serious website/organization and should not list those reviews. If the users was allowed to choose whether to drop those reviews, then he/she would observe the consumer rating of CHW to be 1 star. Please stay away from this company. A real customer.

A big WARNING folks: stay away. The scam works this way: you have 30 days 'to try and cancel the insurance if unsatisfied'. Within 30 days, you can't actually put a service request. So you have no way to know what awaits. After 30 days the nightmare starts. You put a request, long delay to get the technician to your place (7 days), technician is often uncertified, the claim is promptly denied. You are upset and now you want to cancel the contract, but you cannot anymore. The contract says that CHW can deny your request and they will. Because they just want to hold onto your money. Also, all 5 star reviews are fake. So PLEASE, for yourself, stay away!

The repairman was there the afternoon after the request and fixed the problem (AC unit). I know other companies take much longer to get a repairman out to fix the problem. That is why I chose this company. Hope this continues. I will be happy then.

A loud voice came from the stove, so I called Choice Home, where the next day technician was at the to fix after the approval. I would highly recommended Choice Home Warranty, because from the moment I called to the moment the tech came and fix the stove was less than 48 hours, keep in mind that their tech are very professional and they will be at your hour before even their appointment. Phill from CHW was very professional exceeded my expectation. Thank you.

I have never had such a horrible experience getting service. I ended up having to hire my own technician. Thankfully one of your supervisors authorized reimbursement. You need to find reliable technicians. Also, I consistently get disconnected when I call you and have to explain my situation from the beginning over and over each time I call. Now my tech has told me there is a big issue that your company supposedly had fixed in August! A few of your customer service reps have been very nice but they can't fix my issue. Others have been just rude. Supervisors I speak to are very courteous. Bottom line, find better service companies.

I submitted a dispute for a service call where I was told that the leak in my bathroom tub is not covered and my plan document says that it is. It is over 24 hours later and the rep I spoke to yesterday advised that I would be contacted within 4 hours. The second rep I reached after having the system call me back stated they a memo came out that the change for disputes is now 24 hours. The worst service I have ever had and when someone does finally call, I am cancelling the contracts on both my homes.

The repairman, Andrews was nice and kind, fixed the problem (electric repair). My family and I are very happy. He was very knowledgeable about his profession. I will be telling all my friends about this experience. I am grateful for Choice Home Warranty doing business with this company.

I still haven’t heard from a tech for the air conditioning. The customer service rep was rude when I called in. First time I have experienced this behavior when calling in. And my microwave replacement cost was a fraction of what I paid for the microwave new 2 years ago.

This guy came and was asking lots of money to fix such a small problem (AC leaking). Not very cooperative. He left without fixing. So I had to call tech from outside, who did in less than 20 minute. It is not a good company.

Ac not cooling. The guys came; nice techs, but did not know anything. Trying to sell me a new unit. I called another co. I used last year and it was a loose wire which was not transmitting the power. I feel the co. hired people that don’t know what they are talking about.

A service call was placed on Tuesday, 9/18, after 5PM. My ac was not cooling. After being on hold for an extended matter of time, I was able to place my service call. I was not able to get an appointment until Thursday, 9/20. Douglas Mechanical came out, did the inspection, and scheduled an appointment to replace the entire unit. They were very courteous, professional, and accommodating. Came at 6PM and stayed until the job was completed. I did expect more than $1500 form Choice toward my new unit. I always thought that the purpose of a home warranty was to REPLACE whatever couldn't be repaired. I will have to think hard about renewing my policy when the time comes. The cost of the policy plus the cost of replacing at $10,000 ac unit just does not add up to me. Plus I had to pay a $45 service charge on top of the $10,000. I really think it was not necessary to charge me the $45!!

I am Real Estate Broker in the Tucson, AZ area. I personally, at this time, have 2 properties I own and keep a home warranty on at all times. Furthermore, I recommend CHOICE to all my clients. CHOICE's customer service is unsurpassed! I never worry! I most certainly recommend CHOICE to all my clients and I have never had an unsatisfied client. Air conditioner not working. We were very disappointed as far as waiting time to have it serviced. One of the reasons, if not the main one, was that when I, Isabel, called to get information about your services and changed companies was that I was told that you have prompt service when we call with a problem as we are disabled persons with heart condition and being that there was no air in the house we had problem BREATHING and I was told that persons with emergency problems that you will consider that and that we would be served on the same day, especially with the air conditioning not working and they refused to send a technician the same day.
From what I see that was only a tactic on your part to get us to change companies. Like I said even when I told the person that was taking the information to come to our house, she did not pay any attention of our health condition and we had no place to go and was very inconvenient to leave the house. Very disappointed. You treated us like a customer with no health conditions especially when inside the house was well over 80 degrees. I am seriously considering if we will continue with your company. The best thing would have been to tell me the truth about the same day service for EMERGENCY situations.

The guy who came out was very nice and took time to check my attic, a/c and bathroom and saw no leaking. But he still didn’t solve my problem. I need to know what definitely caused the problem. I am concerned if there is mold behind the sheetrock .

William from Airmatics is great. He arrives on time after calling to confirm. He is experienced and professional. He checked and identified the problem at motor in 5 minutes. Then further verified it was not the whole motor broken but just capacitor. Then, replaced it. After the aircon started work, he went outside and tested the compressor with 5 minutes monitoring to make sure no other issues. It is good to have Airmatics solve the problem with an economic way.

Thankfully I haven’t needed to use this policy. However 2 months prior to renewal I began getting notices in the mail and phone calls to renew. The number of phone calls to both my home and work was outrageous! Multiple calls each day! I seriously considered not renewing at all.

Oh my god, I got a quote from Choice two months ago and they will not leave me alone. I get at least 5 calls a day from different numbers. So far I have 8 of their numbers blocked and now they are calling from an 800 number and leaving MORE messages. I have told so many of these people that I chose another company and to stop calling me but they won't. They... just... keep... calling!

Mr. ** was an excellent sales representative. He was exceedingly patient with my poor hearing and had to often repeat and/or expand upon what he was saying. As a result, I didn't feel "pressured" (to which I normally react quite negatively and just hang up) and appreciated his clarifications. Without me inquiring, he asked if I was a senior citizen (old person) and/or a veteran (Yes, to both). Now it will be up to your company to continue the current positive experience.

The wall next to the washing machine is rotting out due to water damage. They sent over a technician to look at it. He did a VISUAL inspection only and quoted almost $600 to replace the drywall. Hello!!! I have explained to Choice Home Warranty that I need a technician to open up the wall and determine where the leak is coming from, and THEN quote for the damage and cost of repairs, which should be covered in our policy. But guess what!? NONE OF THIS IS HAPPENING. I have never experienced such incompetence in my life.

We have had an awful time trying to get a claim regarding our AC unit handled. Started claim on Sept 2, and still waiting (Sept 20) to get resolved. Have been assigned case manager who refuses to call me back or respond to my emails. When I call to speak to someone about our claim, I get the runaround and never able to speak to a person. Have called THREE times today and been placed on hold for over 30 minutes each call, then call mysteriously gets disconnected. This is unacceptable customer service and I would advise anyone looking for home warranty company to RUN THE OTHER WAY from Choice Home Warranty.

They charged me a service call and couldn’t repair it, so they gave me a option for cash, which was not enough to even replace it, especially considering the service call I already made. It would cost me several hundred dollars to get another washer equivalent to the one I had. On the positive side, they were quick and the service man responded fast and on time! I still would recommend them.

I did not renew my last home warranty vendor for one reason - their turn around time on claims. When I was shopping for a new warranty, I made it clear that living in The Valley of the Sun, I expected quick service if my AC stopped working. Choice assured me that their turn around time was usually less than 24 hours. I was skeptical, but yesterday they were put to the test. My AC went out in the afternoon and someone called that night and was out to my home in the morning. I am glad they kept their word and lived up to their claims. So glad I switched, and on top of that, they were cheaper than my last warranty.

It is really hard making a claim with you. Always turned down for some reason. I had no idea when my refrigerator and freezer was not working. Lamin Electronics was the best. Very good. They had to defrost my freezer, filled with ice, nasty. The heater air circulatory defroster part was broken. He just left and put in the broken parts. Very professional, knows his job. Amazing. Very professional. He had to spend most of yesterday getting all the ice off the coils, sides, etc... Built up everywhere. Got the parts last night and got right back out this morning. He knew exactly what was wrong.

We submitted a claim for our tenant's microwave, which was having issues on and off. They have been having to unplug it so the fan doesn't run or so it doesn't go on and off by itself. Sometimes it just wouldn't work... weird stuff. Sometimes it would work fine but it had been a constant battle for them the past month. At first, the response from Choice was timely and we felt good about the service. We received notification that the repair company would be out a couple days later between the hours of 3-8pm, which was a little frustrating due to our busy schedules, but manageable. Then, the repair company postponed our appointment last minute FOUR TIMES before finally getting to the house.
Not only did they postpone several times, but the notification was by email only. Our poor tenant had to move her life around for an entire week waiting on this guy. Then, when he finally got there yesterday evening, he wouldn't do anything for the microwave because it was acting fine during the 5 minutes he was there. He told them to leave the microwave plugged in and call again when the fan turned on or it started having issues again, but that is very unrealistic if it takes an entire week for them to come out in the first place! Not sure what we're going to do, but we would appreciate a timely response in the future.

Air conditioner Lower Level of house not working, previous problem with Upper Level Air Conditioner. Neither problem was repaired by the Custom Plumbing and HVAC company sent. Very poor service from this company. They did replace a thermostat upstairs (which was not the problem). Left telling us we needed a part (which was untrue). Another Air conditioner rep checked and the part was not needed. Downstairs unit they pushed a button within unit, system started for a while then cut off again. Other Air conditioner repairman cleared a clog and system is fine now.

Angel kept in contact with us along the way after they accepted the assignment. We had some issues with scheduling since the first vendor canceled. We questioned the "upsell" for new rollers after they left, but know that our door is in good shape for the future. King Garage Door was very efficient and polite. I would recommend them to others. Regarding Choice, I'm concerned that if we have another more necessary fix, i.e., furnace, water heater, how quick they could respond.

The company said they are waiting for Choice to approve the work. We call Choice and they said they already have it. We called the plumbing company and they said we have the work order but choice needs to send us the approval for service charge and what they are going to cover. We are not going anywhere with this. Plus everyone at Choice keeps thinking we have the lowest coverage without even looking at our account to see we have the max coverage.

The associate seemed very knowledge of the services they offered and was helpful with the best way for me to pay for my service. The only thing I forgot was to add the partial roof protection. I feel that the price was reasonable. I look forward to receiving my paperwork and reading over it.

I've had several claims with Choice, the latest being a plumbing stoppage. I've never had an issue getting claims started and people out to fix the issues. I'm very glad that I have this service, and extended my warranty for another 3 years. Thank you Choice.

This company was helpful as I signed up for a warranty on my newly purchased home, and that's where my positive comments end. My hot water heater broke and they sent someone out to look at it. That person showed up an hour after the 4-hour appointment window, overturned a bucket with water in it directly on my basement floor getting personal items wet, and "fixed" it. It broke again, they came back and said the whole unit needed to be replaced "because it was old" but it wasn't covered. I called a second technician (outside of the warranty) to get a second opinion, and he told me the unit was fine and only needed one part to be replaced.
Despite Choice Home Warranty stating they would honor this report, and the part being explicitly listed on the "covered" items in the book they gave me, CHW refused to cover this. In fact, they knowingly falsified the report in my file THREE SEPARATE TIMES saying a different, non-covered part was the cause of the unit to break, none of which was true. I spent hours upon hours on the phone with various people from CHW, trying to correct their intentional mistakes, to the point of being in tears because I could not believe any company could be this awful to customers. Their last tactic was to say that because my water heater did not have an expansion tank, it was not up to code and therefore they wouldn't cover replacing it.
First, that had nothing to do with it breaking, and second, my water heater was installed before an expansion tank was required by code. I know that because I had to extensively research the make and model online, look through installation instructions to that specific model year, then threaten CHW with a lawsuit. In the end, the reimbursed me for $200 of a $1,200 new unit. When I tried to cancel my policy (because they tell you you can cancel anytime and get a refund), they told me the way the payments are set up, I had already "paid" for my remaining 2 years and couldn't get any money back.
As if all of this isn't enough, I've been getting phone calls, text messages, and emails DAILY, for over a month, from CHW begging me to renew my policy, even though I've told them at least 5 times to remove my phone number from their list. One cheerful sales representative kept transferring me to customer service, where I'd be put on hold. I called back and asked to speak to his manager, and he transferred me to customer service again. When I called again, he sent my call to his voicemail. On the 10th attempt, I spoke to a very friendly gentleman named Tom who apologized for his coworkers behavior and said he could help me and removed my number from their call list. In my experience, this company is unethical and disgraceful. I will NEVER use or recommend this company, as it is honestly the worst company I have ever dealt with. I recommend others stay away as well.

Got my water bill and to my surprise, it was 8 times normal amount!!!! Called Choice and asked for plumber to help find problem. Associate I spoke with was pleasant and helpful. Plumber arrived on time as scheduled and corrected problem within 2 hours. Great service! Glad I invested in warranty!

Everybody was very kind with Choice Home Warranty. A little disappointed because CHW could not locate someone to do the service. I had to do was checking myself. When the service technician did arrive and made the diagnosis it was 35 minutes before Choice Home Warranty returned our call.

On Aug 17th, 2018 we submitted claim with Choice Home that our air conditioner is not working. On Aug 18th, 2018 claim is assigned to “Any Seasons Heating and Air Conditioning” company for Aug 21st, 2018 appointment for diagnosis purpose. On Aug 21st, 2018 – “Any Seasons Heating and Air Conditioning” visits home and performs diagnosis and tells me Choice Home company will get in touch for next step. We will need to replace air conditioner unit.
On Aug 22nd, 2018, “A S Enterprises LLC” company gets assigned to claim for Aug 27th, 2018 appointment. I spoke with Choice Home agent on phone and agent told me “A S Enterprises LLC” company technician is coming to fix my AC unit. On Aug 27th, 2018, “A S Enterprises LLC” technician did not show up for fixing the unit. I called him, and he tells me his car is in repair shop and he will come on Aug 28th, 2018 for performing AC diagnosis. Technician or Choice Home agent should have called me to inform appointment is canceled BUT I’ve to call technician and Choice Home. I’ve to inform office that I will have to work from home for appointment and technician is not showing up is not good acceptable, Choice Home or technician has no courtesy to inform me about change.
On Aug 28th, 2018, “A S Enterprises LLC” still did not come for appointment. Again, I was working from home without getting a call form technician or Choice Home about change. On Aug 28th, 2018, I called Choice Home agent to get an update. Choice Home agent informs us that the appointment has been rescheduled to Aug 30th in their system by technician. How am I supposed to know that? No email or phone communication was done regarding the change. Tired of waiting as the temperatures outside were soaring to 98-degree Fahrenheit and my house was burning like an oven. On Aug 29th, 2018, I get AC unit diagnosed through external company “All American Mechanical LLC” company and they says AC compressor is not pumping and AC unit needs to replace.
On Aug 29th 2018, Choice Home assigns “J Luc Appliances Services” for diagnosis with Aug 30th 2018 appointment. On Aug 30th 2018, “J Luc Appliances Services” technician visits and informs me AC compressor is not pumping and AC unit needs to be replaced. On Aug 30th, claim manager, Tommy Garcia gets assigned and informs me he will get in touch with us in a day. On Aug 31st, Tommy calls and gives me options to purchase AC unit for $3,050 ($550 Appliance + $1,800 labor + $700 Choice Home will reimburse) for 14 SEER unit, I told him to give me quote for 16 SEER unit. On Sep 4th, Tommy calls with $3,550 cost ($1050 Appliance + $1,800 labor + $700 Choice Home will reimburse) for 16 SEER unit. I agreed with cost and provides my credit card details.
On Sep 5th, Choice Home billing department apply $1,050 towards my credit card. On Sep 6th, Choice Home purchasing department order unit. The purchasing department again goofed up the order and we now have one 14 SEER unit inside and 16 SEER unit outside. I was not informed that inside unit is 14 SEERs otherwise I won’t have accepted for additional $500. On Sep 7th, unit is available for technician to pick up and do installation. On Sep 8th, technician installs unit.
My question is at peak summer, can anyone stay without AC for almost 20 days, because Choice Home Insurance issues. The technician did not show up, the company assigned first was not under contract anymore or whatever reason. Because of so much heat, my elder daughter’s nose would start bleeding. This happened like at least 4 times within this time period. Kids are at home because of summer break. And I cannot even list all the troubles and inconvenience my kids and parents faced because of heat, because of Choice Home not being responsible for a claim, because they had their issues and it caused us the troubles.

Do I have to give 1 star? They don't even deserve 1 star. This company has robbed me. I purchased this home warranty when I purchased my home. I paid for the Total package which is SUPPOSED to cover appliances as well. I have made 2 claims so far. Right after we moved in, the A/C stopped cooling. We called it in and the claim was denied. They said that it was pre-existing so they won't cover it. That cost me $750. The 2nd claim I made was because my freezer stopped working. Their excuse this time was that the part was under warranty by the manufacturer so they won't cover it. After calling the manufacturer myself, I found out the part that I need is actually NOT under warranty but since the tech that came out THOUGHT it was, they sided with them without doing any more research. Now I am having to pay for the part and labor plus I had to pay the $65 service fee to their tech that did nothing.

B&M services sent out Chad to work on a defective circuit breaker. He did a great job. Choice let me know that B&M was coming on Wed 1-4. I received a call on Monday from B&M saying they would be at our home on Tuesday 2-4. Not sure why the disconnect between Choice and B&M. Fortunately B&M came on Tues as we were going to change to later date as we wouldn't have been present on Wed.

I have annual maintenance on my air system. Vendor said I have issues and to call the Choice. You provide a vendor and they tell you it needs work and you only authorize part. Saying you don't fix things that need permits or code violations. I call the city and it does not need a permit for the suggested fixes and I call AGAIN and you say some will call me in 4 hours and NO one does. The contractor should be here this morning and I have no idea if they are coming and if they are going to fix the problem. FRUSTRATING.

My refrigerator stopped keeping my food cold, the freezer worked over time but the food in the main fridge stayed at 50, Terry came out and fixed it and it is working great now. I am please with the service I got. Even though the first day that I was scheduled there was a no show and no call, a mix up I am sure but when I called the appliance store to find out about it they told me I didn't have a claim. I had to call Choice warranty and they called and got it straightened out. The very next day it was fixed.

Each time that I have called CHW, the wait time has been in excess of two hours. I find that ridiculous for a service company. Each time they’ve had an excuse for the length of the wait. Bottom line, they need more people answering phones. This time I chose to pick my own contractor because they couldn’t find one quickly enough. The contractor was supposed to get preapproval before the work was done. He tried for an hour to get a hold of CHW, and couldn’t. That is unacceptable. After an hour, he had to leave or risk his job. I tried for an additional hour to reach them. When I finally did, I was bounced around to five different people before anybody could answer my question or give me the information I needed. Despite the instructions given to me for reimbursement, the phone system doesn’t allow you to advance through their automated system. This needs to be fixed because you’re going to lose customers to American Home Shield.

At this time my freezer has not been fixed. Tech was fine but did not have parts on truck to do repair. He said he had requested approval from CHW and would go get parts returning in about 45 min. I received a call later saying repair had been approved but parts would be sent by CHW and I should put a towel on my floor to catch water from CHW. When I called CHW I was told this was correct and would take 3-5 business days for parts to be received. I requested that this be expedited since water on the floor was a safety hazard to me. I was told all this was in acceptable guidelines for CHW. The agent was polite and apologetic but I wish she had gone the extra mile to help me. I do look forward to getting my freezer fixed.

Our main level a/c condenser failed on a Sunday afternoon. My Monday late afternoon, Choice has someone out to there in to inspect and get it up and running with just a few parts. The Tech checked both units and said that neither were looking Freon and the units were well maintained away from debris etc. This was an easy transaction and we're back up running. Thank you!

Air Conditioner Blower Wheel came apart. Choice refused to cover the claim because of normal wear and tear. Blower Wheels do not wear out. I called Lennox who stated the wheel is not a part that experiences wear and tear. Over 9 years we have changed the filters so often the technician stated, "the unit looks new and no dust on the blower wheel."
Earlier this year the refrigerator went out. Choice refused to cover the claim because the 3 technicians they sent were not certified to work on our model. What does their failure to have certified contractors have to do with us being without a refrigerator for 6 weeks? After 12 visits from 3 Choice referred companies and finally having a certified LG technician make several visits, Choice refused to honor their agreement and would not replace the unit as stated in the contract. We paid for the repair out of pocket. Two sides to every story. My side is the Gospel Truth. Texas would do well to prevent Choice from conducting business in the Lone Star State.
On another occasions a technician intimidated my wife trying to get her to pay extra which is against Choice Policy. I was out of town on business and asked the technician to work through Choice HW as stated in his contract. The technician knew he was caught so he left without repairing the AC during an over 95 degree day. Eventually Choice had it repaired. If you make a claim, stick with it because more times than not Choice denies the claim under "Normal Wear and Tear" exclusion. Choice makes unsubstantiated judgments in hopes you will not ask for a review. Remain engaged.

I placed a call on Monday to Choice Home Warranty to have my dryer repaired, had a response within 30 minutes. The technician was scheduled for Wed (2 days later). However the technician had a cancellation and was there an hour later. This was my fourth time placing a service request and every time I have been extremely satisfied. My dishwasher's heating system failed. A tech was sent out the next day which was great. He said that the heating element and control panel were broken. Choice said it wasn't worth fixing and that they would only give me a check for $260. I sent Choice the cost that it would be to replace a similar unit from Home Depot with links to the costs. It is going to cost me around $700 to replace it, have it installed, and the old one carried off. The low end at Home Depot would cost around $330. The manager said they don't provide funds to replace it for a similar machine. I feel like since Choice decided not to pay to have it fixed, they should give enough money to buy a comparable one. I requested more money but the manager said no. I am pretty much stuck with a home warranty and a $700 bill minus $260 to get a comparable machine.

I called CHW on a Thurs to have someone service my AC unit. Today is Tuesday. Still no vendor. I called on Monday to ask why their vendor was 3 hours away from me and their response was it was the only vendor to accept the job. I live in VA Beach. The vendor coming from Carolina after a major hurricane hit them and the roads are just starting to open there again. If Choice is so amazing of all the vendors in my area why is the closest on 3 hrs away and my appointment is still two day off. Great job. Let's see how long others in Virginia stay with this unsatisfactory service.

Heat pump continuously turns off. AC runs for hours. Temperature never changes as unit is running. The only time it changes is when the heat pump is not running and the temperature goes up. When the heat pump does work, it takes up to four to five hours for the temperature to get to the setting on the thermostat. The thermostat is set at 78 degrees. The AC will come on with the temp at 78 degrees and run for 30 mins and the temp never changes. The temp is still at 78 degrees when unit turns off.
Technician came here last night about 9:30. Told me that the water line was clogged. I told him that I had already clear that earlier and still had the same problem. He clear the line, placed some tablets in the unit and said that would fix the problem. He paid no attention to what told him of the unit running for hours and no change in temperature. After he left, the temp in the house was 82 degrees. He left at approximately 10:30 PM. It took the unit over 3 hrs to bring the temp to the setting of 78 degrees. I tried calling him today and got no reply. Left him a message. The unit is still doing what it was doing prior to him fixing the problem. The problem is the same and I paid $145.00 and still have the same problem.

I signed up in June 2018. Trans AC unit went down. Compressor leak caused an ice build up. I took pictures and video of wet filter and ice. The outside panels were taken off... no debris or dirt build up in the coils. Inside furnace had dust and spider webs on outside of it. Not the inside. I offered to send pictures and video and was told that the ac technician side that the compressor malfunction was due to debris build up. No one wanted to even hear about or see my evidence. Then it was so hard to cancel my account. 8 different phone calls I had to make. Too many emails not responded to.
Then I was told that I could not cancel until I spoke to my case manager in person. Why? Payment would have come out on 22 Set 2018. A few more days and a payment would have come out. Case manager never picked her phone up. She contacted me by email and said she tried to call me. I have phone records to show that was not true. Finally got cancelled after I kept replying to different employees my unpleasant experience with the support I was being given.

A/C broke down on Thursday 09/13/2018. I called Choice and they set me up for 09/16 with "Air by Ahrens", Fred (Owner) never showed up the day he had confirmed the appointment, or returned any of my 3 calls. I called Choice back on 09/16/2018, spoke with Latrice, requested a different company and the very next day Daniel with DND H&C came from Knoxville to Sevierville and fixed the problem within half an hour. After Choice decided it was cost effective to replace the compressor plus labor they decided to replace the system. The wife and I are happy to have a new one. Seems they cover nothing... we have roof coverage, oops you have a tile roof, not covered. Companies they send are terrible. I knew more than the plumber they sent. Had to have plumber come back for same problem (water kept running in bowl). Another time toilets were backing up. Said they would have to go on roof and they don't do that and told me call Roto-Rooter. So I called them and their plumber knew right away it was the main and snaked it out, which cost me $500. When I complained this was covered they only gave me $180 refund. Now air conditioner problem. They send someone that tells me it’s my variable speed motor, not covered but he could replace it for $325 on his own. Found this suspicious so called a reputable Company used before and told me not only did I not need a new motor, (real cost $1,600 and still under warranty) he had switched my wires so things in outside unit would burn out.
Since then I have had to have service to outside unit quite a few times and would not think about calling Choice Home Warranty. Was told I need a new unit as this one is about 10 yrs and going. Thinking maybe this is covered by Choice Home Warranty, I have call for a service call. Scanning their book it looks like they will only replace a 13 seer unit which most homeowner in Florida need at least a 19. The salesman Eric made this warranty sound soooo good that I bought a 3 yr contract. When I inquired about cancelling I was told since I used them a few times and got the $180. They take that all off your payment $1,975 plus they charge a percentage so I am not entitled to any money back. Read their contract book carefully, which I wish I had done. Most things excluded are probably what you will need. I never write reviews, but this company needs to be shut down.

Gentleman came out only to tell us that water heater pilot had blow out, collected $60 and was leaving. We tried to explain that even on HOT we were not getting HOT water. After back and forth he decides to replace the gas valve which was in bad shape. But had we not persisted, the problem would still be here. Not happy with the entire process.

Got a $530 refund for a $1450 high end dishwasher. Their reasoning - "We will pay for a product with similar features." So I ask them where I can buy a Dishwasher with 45db sound level - This is extremely quiet. They google the cheapest possible 45db dishwasher and tell me there is one available at 550$. A product that is certain to break in the first two years. How and where do I get a reliable dishwasher for 550$. Even if I find one, I still have to pay for sales tax, installation kit and Installation (Approx 180$). It's been 6 weeks now and I was told that it would be another 30 days for the claim check. They have absolutely no business ethics. Save your money and pay for the in-store extended warranty. I fell for the "full coverage warranty" scam. Anyone who reads this - Please, please STAY AWAY from CHOICE HOME WARRANTY.

We bought a house last year that came with a home warranty that is about to expire. We looked into doing it again, but the cost was too high, so we searched for the best warranty companies, and found Choice to be #1. We called and asked gobs of questions and were amazed at the services available for VERY reasonable prices. We started to buy it, and then our very helpful Luke told us about discounts for seniors, veterans, multiple years, etc., which were so good that we ended up getting an absolutely wonderful multiple year package at an incredible rate. Don't buy until you check out Choice Home Warranty!!!

If I could give zero stars, I would. This company is just a scam. They are in it for the money, and not willing to work with you on anything. When you try to make a claim, they make it nearly impossible for you to get a hold of them, no company wants to contract with them due to their terrible customer service and wait times, and when you do finally get a hold of someone, they refuse to repair the issue because there is some small print somewhere that gets them out of doing anything they claim to do for you. I have had them for less than a year, and have had 3 claims... CHW has NOT COVERED A SINGLE THING!!! On one issue, they couldn't even get a company to come out and look at the pipes, because every business in the area has dropped them due to their terrible customer service and failure to actually approve a claim. No one wants to work with them.
The 2nd claim, I finally got someone to come out, and CHW wouldn't answer their phones to deny or approve the claim, so I had to wait a week (trying everyday to get a hold of someone) until I finally was able to talk to someone, and the claim was denied anyway because of the small print. They cover all plumbing issues, except everything in the small print, which is a ton.
The third claim I had, they refused to even have someone come out and look at it (garage door broke) because they said that only the motor of the garage is covered. When I signed the contract, they make you think that since the garage door is covered, everything about the garage door is covered. They are sneaky and underhanded people who will worm their way out of paying any kind of money for a repair. Do not do business with these people!

Our washer stopped going through all the cycles and also wasn't completely draining. This happened while I was away helping friends rebuild their house in St. John, USVI, after being hit by 2 hurricanes. My wife contacted me, so I told her to call Choice for help. Choice sent out a repairman who was able to immediately diagnose and fix the problem-relieving my wife's anxiety. For the $45 fee, this was a great solution and deal for us. I definitely would recommend Choice to my friends.

All of those order numbers were for one problem, the a/c drain line. The people at CHW who were contacting technicians were not reading and understanding the problem. It took 10 days to get our a/c going in 95 degree weather due to confusion at CHW. When the proper person was sent it only took 1 day to fix the problem. CHW wants to help but they need more knowledgeable people to properly assess the problem and decide which tech to send. You kept assigning a/c techs when a plumber was needed and then wouldn't assign a plumber until the a/c tech signed off as needing a plumber. Very aggravating!

My refrigerator first needed repair in June. The technician came out to diagnose the problem, told me it would be five days for the part to come in, and then left the country without telling anyone. Three weeks later and after me calling a couple of times to find out where he was, he came back to finish the job. The problem reappeared a couple of months later and I was told I had to pay another service fee, which I had no choice but to do (I believe the work should have a longer guarantee, but was told Samsung always has something new going wrong with it).
The technician didn't show up, nor did he call. Choice told me they would have another technician call to schedule, which they did not, so I asked if I could hire my own technician. I was told I could and they would reimburse me. They offered $97.50 for a $350 repair, citing that the fee my technician was charging was excessive. They further stated that their agreement to reimburse was only for their standard rate - which was absolute news to me because that hadn't been communicated on the phone or in the email they sent to me about reimbursement.
After a half hour on the phone, Sam - who works at a higher level in resolutions, was able to offer $140. I did not get that in writing, however, so I'm trusting it will be honored. I love the idea of having a home warranty so I can make a phone call and get the problem fixed. My expectation is that the technicians are of a good enough quality that the service is professional and the job gets done correctly. This was absolutely not the case and I am deeply disappointed.

9-11-18 I called CHW for a Dishwasher issue, A repairman was assigned to appear between 11:00am to 3:00 pm. I patiently waiting for repairman to show up. I began working on my Computer and Noticed the Repair Person had changed date of assigned date from 9-11-18 to 9-14 18 with no notification to me the client. I called and on 9-12-18 a new Repair man was assigned to fix dishwasher. All city Appliance appeared to fix dishwasher, It appeared the Dishwasher's control panel was off. Felix from All City Appliance, recycled the panel. He did run a test dish washer. Seemed to work.
9-13 18 when I ran the dishwasher I was not convinced that the panel was fixed. So I called Felix and described how the dishwasher panel was reacting, I not knowing how it worked, was a bit concerned about the panel and not ever studying the panel I was a novice at understanding, I thought it was not right so I called Felix repairman and explained my concern, he claimed as long a the lights were off at the end of cycle it was fine. So I have to be convinced it is fixed. So I will continue to check light panel when cycle is complete to be sure all lighting is off.

My AC went out on Sept 8, I called Choice at 9 am Sunday Morning Sept 9. They have delayed, reviewed, forwarded, over & over again. It is now Friday Sept 14 and they still have not completed their reviews & transfers to get the air conditioner put through so I'll have the AC installed today - before a weekend without AC. It was 91 degrees in my house last night. My husband has a heart condition & high blood pressure. This heat is killing him. All I get is someone reviewing my claim every time I call. Oh, and if you have an older AC unit it will not be covered to be replaced. The new units require the newer refrigerant and Choice calls that an update and do not replace it for free. Save your warranty money to apply toward the cost of a new AC unit. I called today, Sept 14, at 9 am but the "right person" to talk to was not there. When I called back at 10 am, the man I talked to hung up on me when I complained about their inefficiency. How's that for great service??!!

Awful, bunch of crooks trying to make money and it worked. Congratulations. They make you feel like you are in good hand with them and will take care of your repairs but in reality they are horrible. For my swimming pool, it took them 2 months to get the part that I paid 500 towards because they wouldn't entirely cover my pool motor. For my A/C, the inspection wasn't covered therefore I had to hire a technician to provide me with quote and they said wouldn't be covered. Today, I just had one more rejection for my toilet. They have so many stipulations to what is covered and not and most likely any repair that they can get away with will not be covered. I invest over 3000 dollars with them and worst decision I ever made in my life.

Once again we pay to have a technician come out and they cannot get it to duplicate what we dealt with for 4 days. We finally get the damper to open and then the technician cannot get it to stick again. This is the 3rd visit we have had only for nothing to be done. Every time it has been related to the damper. The technician says if I cannot get it to duplicate then warranty will not fix it.

The Claims Dept is trying to get out of paying for the compressor in my air conditioner outside unit by lying and saying that the service provider they sent out told them that it was repaired by an outside provider, when it wasn’t. The Claims Dept then changed their story to say that it now not covered because of excessive wear and tear. Because of the way I’ve been treated with the this claim, I filed complaints against Choice Home Warranty with the Texas Attorney General office, the Texas Real Estate Commission and the New Jersey BBB hoping it helps to be reimbursed for the compressor cost I had to pay for this AC repair.

I saw water dripping from the pvc above my water heater and scheduled repair. The repairman saw the leak, told me I had a leak then said he had to call my insurance to see if it was covered. He then notified me that he was on hold and while he waited I had to give him the $60 deductible which I did, then he left! No repair, no explanation, he just left. You people just suck!

Henderson mechanic supposed to have fixed my AC problem. Didn’t check the cause of the problem. Didn’t report the correct issue that caused the circuit board to go out. I had to pay 435.00. I keep calling the review rep. She called back after a week and I paid the bill. She did refund 200.00 today after I called 20 times. Monday I have AC problem again. Water damage from the Henderson company not doing a good job. AC leaking.

I have had 20 homes with you guys. I sold one earlier in year and you kept harassing me to renew the policy. You would not cancel the policy when I instructed you to and have continued to waste my time and I had to have 4 different calls with various groups to stop it. And now my other 19 homes come up for renewal in November and you are sending me notices daily on multiple homes. It takes 1 account rep to make one phone call and renew. If it does not stop you will lose all my business. I rate you very poor service. POOR!!!

I called about my dishwasher and someone came out 2 days later not the same day as advertised. The repairman said what was wrong. CHW decided to replace the dishwasher vs fixing it. I was fine with that. I paid the 60.00 fee then get an email saying they were giving me 179.99 cash instead. After 6 days and me turning down the cash offer they said they would not replace it as the warranty states and said they would do 250.00. Now for a cheap dishwasher gonna be like 275./300.00 plus the cost of having someone install it. I have been lied to since I signed up for this warranty. Supposed to get a free month if you refer someone. I referred 2, got one month I think but never got anything in writing. Will go back to the more expensive warranty when this is finished. Will never recommend to anyone else.

I bought a warranty from Choice Home Warranty. Wish I had done more reading before selecting them. Don't waste your time and money on this company. A home warranty is supposed to give you peace of mind. Instead with this company, you'll spend hours on the phone and still not get serviced. For your health, sanity and time, don't use them.
I filed a Better Business Bureau complaint since Choice Home Warranty will not honor the warranty I purchased. They keep asking questions until they hear that ONE word on the exclusions list and deny your claim. In my case, they claim they are not responsible due to corrosion. So I sent some pictures of the equipment, and they clearly show no rust or corrosion. Think it changed their minds? I'm not giving much hope for my BBB complaint, since Choice Home Warranty is not a BBB member. They have a poor rating BBB- and a LOT of complaints. The same goes for more review sites I am now looking at. Like I said before, I wish I had read more reviews before buying the warranty.

I call on Tues night @ 8:00 pm and then received a call @ 8:30 Wed morning that Tech would be there in 2 hours. He came 15 mins early. Assessed the issue and secured the part and it was back and running in a few hours. Very polite tech and stayed quite focused on the job. Then went over the entire process to make sure that nothing else was wrong.

I own a Samsung OTR microwave. Had fault first time in 5 years. Opened a claim with CHW, technician took care of the issue but within 5 months, the problem surfaced again. I didn’t know but technician’s work is not guaranteed for 1 year. So I had to open second claim and of course service call fee. Same technician came, gave his evaluation to CHW. I was offered replacement. But this replacement price or what they offered is always very low. To me if I paid the service call then might as well get it repaired. But CHW did reconsider the replacement price and gave me what they could. Only if this was offered during the first claim. Anyway, from CHW side they were very prompt in opening the claim, follow up. And the new communication method is good where I know the appointment has been made and I don’t have to call technician.

When my A/C went out I knew I could not afford to buy a new one. I remembered we had CHW and the affordability, convenience, and expertise CHW & each contractor brought to our problem gave us the assurance to call again... and this time was no different! I signed up in 14 Jun 2018 with Choice Home Warranty based on a friend who recommended them and they got good service. Well after the 30 day wait period, I called for a service call on 17 Aug 2018. I did not hear any response so I contacted them on 21 Aug 2018 and stated: "We apologize for the delay in a technician accepting your work order. We are diligently contacting the best available technician in your area to accept the work order. Once accepted, you will receive an email and automated voice message with the technician's contact information. Please note, you have been previously emailed about our reimbursement option. If you prefer to use your own technician please respond back and we will conclude our dispatch process and email the reimbursement guidelines. Thank you for being a valued customer of Choice Home Warranty."
Then on 22 Aug 2018, I got this: "A CHW Technician has set an appointment for your claim. Appointment Date: Thursday August 23rd, 2018. Appointment Time: 07:00 AM -11:00 AM. CHW Technician: Don Enterprise & Asso. CHW Technician Phone: 757-449-2724. Upon the technicians arrival you will be required to pay a 60.00 service call fee. Please make sure someone is available at the covered address at that time. For a more convenient appointment time please contact Don Enterprise & Asso. at 757-449-2724."
They came out the following Friday 31 Aug 2018. The technician troubleshot the problem and a module board has to be replaced and the wire from the attic to the condensing unit outside needed to be replaced. He told my wife that the part had to be ordered. On 4 Sep 2018 I got email for the following: "Your CHW Claim Appointment is Today. Appointment Date: Tuesday September 4th 2018. Appointment Time: 03:00 PM -08:00 PM. CHW Technician: Don Enterprise & Asso. CHW Technician Phone: 757-449-2724."
I called the above number and talked to the technician and he stated it was sent in error and that he was waiting for the part that was ordered to come in. He would call my wife to set up appointment when part came in. No call and no show since then till I called Choice Home Warranty on 12 Sep 2018. After waiting on line for 20 minutes, I talked to a representative and they finally came back and said that the Contractor is no longer represented by Choice Home Warranty. When I heard that, I was appalled. They said they would have to submit for another contractor to respond to the call. I was not and am still not satisfied. I asked to speak to Manager, I got cut off. I called back and waited another 15 minutes to speak to a representative and I stated I was calling back and got cut off. I insisted in calling a Manager.
I finally got one but you can tell they are reading from a script and not really paying attention to what I was complaining about. He was stuttering and could not resolve my issue except that service call was being put back into pool for another contractor to pick it up in my area. Now I have to wait longer to get any repairs done on HVAC. They told me the Service Charge $60 would be waived since I paid it already but didn't get repaired. So now I am waiting till we receive confirmation of a new Contracting Company.
I get another email from CHW stating: "We are diligently working on assigning your claim to the best available technician in your area. At this time, technicians have not responded with a reasonable timeframe to schedule your appointment. We are continuing to work on finding you a reasonable appointment. Reimbursement is an optional service if you choose it. CHW will continue to work on finding you a reasonable appointment unless you select to specifically utilize our reimbursement option." The problem with finding someone on my own, I don't know anyone that is reliable. I am on the verge of cancelling the contract and am about to request a full refund for the lousy incompetent service I have received.

Purchased a home warranty from Choice Home Warranty. Five months later our furnace failed, had to find our own service provider, pay out of pocket for inspections and now they've denied our claim and our appeal. Saying the furnace was not working when we pitched the home warranty when in fact it ran great in the Michigan winters. Their denial to approve is based on their assumption. Not facts. Anything to get out of paying. Their fine print says excludes repairs for known or unknown issues. That pretty much says they won't cover anything.

I bought the top of the line warranty because I own an older home. I have never been treated so badly and still my issue is not resolved. All major systems in my house is supposed to be covered. After several hours of being on hold and no communication to the technician from Choice I finally after six hours a day for two of calling and fighting with customer service. They finally sent me a email saying that I was not covered. I was told by my sales rep in July that all of that would be covered if I got the total care plan and it would not be covered if I got the basic plan so I signed up for the total care plan which is 20 dollars more a month; so if anything happened I would be covered.
I feel completely disrespected and ripped off. This ordeal started on the seventh of September and here it is the 12. I even in the 30 reps I talked to was told quote "it's not my problem". They really don't care about any of their customers or even how they are treated. Nothing is resolved, just ignored and placed on hold. I'm currently in the joke of an appeal process which I still have not talked to anybody from the appeal dept. It is sickening to think that they automatically draft my account every month and don't provide the services I pay for. These people are crooks and thieves, nothing more.

We have had our home warranty for only a few months now and can tell you DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We filed our first claim over a month ago and are still in limbo. They sent an electrician out but then claimed they never did and are now telling us they will need to send another one out. They set up an appointment according to their claim status but failed to tell both us and the electrician about the appointment. I believe they make it as hard as possible so you give up and they won't have to pay for any claims. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

The technician didn’t even take out a single tool. All he did was spin the dial and determined from that spin that the dishwasher needed to be replaced. I paid him $45 to spin a dial! Then CHW gave me a very insulting lowball replacement offer. I declined it and a rep called me and upped it a bit but also said that CHW doesn’t pay for installation. My wife and I are disabled and are unable to do it ourselves. CHW pays for as little as possible. I came to them from American Home Shield and I’m seriously considering going back.

Our pool pump decided to not work. We called Choice Home to put in a claim. Within an hour, we had an appointment with Crystal Blue Pool & Spa to look at the pump. Turned out, the pump died and we needed a new unit. All was approved for a new unit to be installed and we only paid the $65 service fee. Excellent service!

Choice Warranty wanted me to provide a bill for the purchase of my LG refrigerator to get a compressor from LG... I called LG and they said that it was under warranty because it was less than 10 years old and I should not have to provide a purchase receipt. My refrigerator stopped cooling. I had LG warranty repair come out and they said it wasn't the compressor, cleaned the coils and it works fine. Choice Warranty failed to properly diagnose the problem. I will be cancelling my contract.

The tech was sent to repair my dryer, he diagnosed it as too expensive to repair, it needed to be replaced. The warranty company offered me half the cost of a replacement dryer. I declined the cash buy out option because I could not find a dryer for the amount they were offering. My case manager contacted me and argued with me. She was rude and strangely defensive. She kept thinking I was asking her to pay the worth of the old dryer when it was new. Not true. I need to just have enough funds to purchase a dryer to replace the broken one and the cash buy out was not enough for ANY dryer. After making me hold, the case manager finally agreed with me that there were no dryers for that amount and finally increased the amount. The amount I finally got was ALMOST enough for the cheapest dryer I could find on sale at that.

I had a leaking elbow connection in the basement ceiling. J&S contracting arrived, they introduced themselves. I showed them the leak, they diagnosed it, needed parts, left, back in 10 minutes, made the repair. The whole process was over in an hour or less. Great experience.

Overall, I was very pleased with my first experience using my Choice Warranty. I called to report that my AC was not cooling properly and that I was leaving town later in the week. Within about four hours, I received notice that a repairman was scheduled for the next morning. Tim ** (Johnson Builders) called the next morning to notify me that he was on his way and approximate arrival time. He was prompt, very professional and quickly repaired my AC. My only criticism is that, when I called to report my AC problem, the person with whom I spoke seemed more interested in selling me an extended warranty than resolving my problem. He told me that my warranty would be expiring and that he could give me a good deal on renewal. I explained to him that my warranty would not expire until January and that, since this was my first experience using the warranty, I would decide about renewing after I determined the quality of service!

Never used Choice Home Warranty since I signed up March 2018. I had trouble with my air conditioner. Called and they made an appointment for me on Monday the 10th 2018. I got the email stating the there was no charge for the guys to come out. Monday morning the lady from the air conditioner company called me and told me there was a fee for them to come out of $75.00. They were charging me $125.00 to fix the box to the air conditioner. Well I called Choice Warranty and they told me 75 dollars and I told them, "No charge on the email." "Okay then we will reduce it to 45 dollars." What? You said zero. I told them to cancel the job and I got the air conditioner guy to fix the electric box to the air conditioner They were very nasty trying to cancel the warranty. I see others did not have a problem. Good for them I do not know why I did. I called it bait and switch

We purchased this warranty 3 years ago, and they have yet to successfully complete a repair. They gave us money to replace a pool part (not enough to cover the cost), and have denied every other claim. The same day we had both our hot water break, and our kitchen sink back up. They send someone out who walked in our house with no tools whatsoever. They then let us know that both claims are denied. The sink has "too many turns to use a snake," and the hot water heater is not working because of "Sediment buildup." It's like they research how to deny claims and get back to you with that information. So basically I paid $3,000 for peace of mind- only to have none as I know if anything else breaks in my home, calling them will be futile. Please do not buy any warranty with them.

I placed a claim for an issue with my AC. They sent a technician who told me CHW did not cover for leak test. I had to pay out of pocket and when diagnosed (as normal wear and tear), they stated they would not cover because it was due to rust or corrosion, even though this was completely different from their technician's diagnostic. My AC quit blowing. I filed a claim online on 6/11. It was hot in Alabama. I called to speak to an agent to ask if this was considered an emergency service. I just wanted an idea of how many days it might be. After a long hold (over 30 minutes) I reached an agent who was the least helpful customer service person I have ever dealt with. Wouldn't give me any specifics but told me to keep checking the claim status online. It was 3 days before they let me know they had scheduled a repair person to come inspect it. The appointment was set for the next week. I wasn't going to wait that long with no AC on a hot house with my kids so I just had someone come fix it that day and paid for it myself. It was fixed within 2 hours of me calling a repair company myself. Why can't Choice get the same kind of results?!
A few weeks later, there was an issue with the pipe in the wall to my kids' shower. I filed a claim online but the website said they needed more info and I needed to call. Yay. Another long 20+ minute hold to talk to one of their people. She said it wouldn't be covered because they don't cover faucets. I explained that it wasn't the faucet but the pipe inside the wall. She said it still wasn't covered. I told her that was ridiculous and that I wanted to cancel. She said ok and that she would take transfer me to that department. I get transferred.
Now instead of being on hold with no idea how long it will be, there is a message that states the estimated hold time and an offer for them to call me back instead of holding. I decline and wait on hold. The estimated hold time passes and still no one. The message is repeated every few minutes offering the call back. It has been 20 minutes more than my original estimated hold time so I finally give in and accept the call back offer. Guess what? No one ever called me back!
So I wrote them a letter stating that I wished to cancel immediately. I went into my account online and changed my credit card information to a Visa gift card that didn't have enough left to cover the charge if they still billed me on the 28th as usual. I never hear back from them. Nothing in writing and no voicemails. Then on 9/7 these DISHONEST people charged my original credit card (which was no longer on file as my card for billing) for two months of coverage.
I filed a dispute with my credit card company as soon as the pending charge went through and filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I placed a claim online on Saturday, it was scheduled after about an hour or two, the technician was on time, friendly and completed the work really fast. I didn't have to worry about anything, the whole process was seamless to me. I am very happy with the service I received in every aspect.

I called in claim, customer service was great. They made the appointment and got back to me within 4 hours. The tech from the ac company came out in two days, fixed the problem. First time I used the warranty and I'm satisfied with the service.

Not completing cycle. We feel that their offer to replace the appliance did not come anywhere near a replacement cost of the dishwasher. We feel the replacement amount should of been higher. You cannot buy a dishwasher on that amount. Replacing a $650.00 item with a $259.00 replacement amount.

I've been a customer for 5 or 6 years and only had to call them for minor stuff. Usually it take a day or two for a tech to arrive if you're lucky. Some techs are good. Other don't know their head from their buttocks. Well my A/C went out so I called. It would be at least a day for someone to arrive. My son has nerve damage and break out in huge hives/rash so I need a tech ASAP. I called CHW. They said it shouldn't be an issue to have my tech call when he arrive. As soon as he arrived I called the 800#. Mary sent me to the authorization department where I was on hold over an hour. The tech couldn't stay because he had other jobs so I continued to hold. I spoke with Jeremy. He said, "I wish he could of waited. This sounds like an issue we can take care of right away."
I explained he waited on hold over 45 minutes and had other customers. He said it's not uncommon to wait over an hour but all I had to do was submit the invoice for reimbursement. He said, "Even better I'll send you to another department where they can address your issue right away", so once again I was transferred. I was told to email the invoice to info@choicehomewarranty.com. This is common for a tech to wait on hold for so long but the invoice could be processed. Today I called. Spoke with Shaber #**. She stated all the reps were wrong. They would not accept the detailed invoice. The tech needed to call. She said they would not call him, there is no direct line and he needs to wait until someone can speak to him even if he has to wait over an hour. WOW. This is BS in my book. How about hire more people to handle the call or accept invoices. No wonder it take days for a tech to arrive. They're too busy waiting on hold.

My appointment consisted of the appliance company telling me it was a maintenance issue and they could clean my washer for an additional $75. I was told what needed to be cleaned, I had it cleaned myself and the problem still exists! Waste of time and money! I was told the warranty company will always try to default to maintenance being the issued and never being covered under the warranty. What’s the point of having a warranty?!?!

Our Air conditioner went out on Saturday September 8th, 2018 and make a claim but couldn't send someone out till Monday the 10th in which we in 90 degree weather. We had to go buy a window unit we were so hot. When the man arrived on Monday he had it fixed soon and was prompt and on time. I feel we should be reimbursed for the air unit.

I have had only positive feedback with the only three times I have used the company in a two year span. I must say the customer service Rep, JOE that took my call was extremely attentive to his professional service. The vendor, United A/C was more than on time, called to say he was outside my home and kept me informed about the repair to my unit.
My clients have told me of this issue however I took each issue as an isolated issue until this happened to me. Please take into consideration having more coverage so this doesn't happen to someone else and or even a vendor sitting outside in 110 degree weather.

I bought this as a protection. For my air conditioner. But a week after I bought it the dishwasher, the clothes washer and the fridge developed problems. I submitted a claim. They were here the next day and fixed the items. 1 needed a part and he was back. The next day with the part and all was. Fixed. Great timely service.

Air Conditioner claim - I was amazed! When no one immediately picked up the request for service, I was allowed to get my own person. That was awesome because there was a former service company. They came quickly and once they identified the problem we called in the claim. A short hold and the agent was back and said all was covered and a check would be to me in 30 days. Wow, no hemming and hawing, just great customer service. Thanks so much for an easy experience.

Had an electrician and at service point to AC as our problem. AC who is newly licensed repairman who could not fix problem. I felt I needed someone with more experience to diagnose problem. Problem still an issue. Will not accept this company again because of their inexperience.

We bought our home April 2017. Our 25 year old A/C unit stopped working. Choice sent out a service company that they recommended and they said we needed a new unit, that it had way outlasted the normal life of an A/C central unit. Choice denied the claim and asserted that it wouldn't have broken down if we had had it maintained by an A/C company twice a year. I asked Choice to reconsider since the unit was 25 years old and told them I was not happy for several reasons. Then a person who identified himself as a "concierge" for their company contacted me and stated he wanted to see what he could do to keep my business and wanted to know why I was canceling.
I explained again, even though I know he had all the information in front of him. He asked me to hold on the line while he contacted the technician that came here and maybe he could make me an offer to keep me as a customer. He came back on the line and said that he could not reach the technician, but was willing to give me $200 based on the diagnosis that was in the system. He said I only needed a valve and that's how much it cost them. I told him that wasn't true, that I had seen the denial from Choice to pay for a new unit as recommended. The unit was TWENTY FIVE YEARS OLD. It stopped working because it had way outlasted the normal lifetime for an A/C. I told him he should call back and speak with the technician and then call me back tomorrow. He never called back.
This is another example of the deception. As soon as I hung up with their "concierge", I called Newman's heat and air. They answered the phone right away and told me they had spoken with the person with Choice. I believe that the only reason I was offered $200 is because that's around $70 less than what I have paid in on premiums. This is misleading and deceptive practices, especially for folks my age. In my opinion this company is financially exploiting people and using such deceptive tactics. I had to go to the bank and borrow the $5100. I always paid on time and did everything on my side, used their own recommended company that they referred us to and we acted in good faith. Obviously this is one sided when they are not even following the recommendations of the very company they sent out here.
Also, I have been unable to reach anyone at the phone number they provided to cancel my warranty with them. When you call that number it answers and says, "Thank you for calling Choice Warranty" and then hangs up. Any other number I call keeps me on hold for over an hour, I have others in my home that have tried as well. I sent an e-mail officially cancelling on 8/23/18 and yet this company charged my Discover card on the 25th against my will.
I am beyond disgusted with their business tactics and lack of ethics. The central unit had far exceeded its normal life and obviously at the end of its ability to function. To blame it no longer working on a faulty valve caused by lack of maintenance is ridiculous and another deceptive practice they use. Then I received an e-mail from "the office of the president" on August 27th wanting to know how they could help me. I sent the above back to her and have never heard anything back.

Repairman was professional and knowledgeable! Found the problem and resolved it quickly! He made a quick diagnosis and explained the problem to me in layman terms. He did not waste time at all and got straight to the chase. I would recommend Choice to my friends and also JR Maintenance.

Repair man didn’t show up for two days. Arrived Saturday and did not fix the problem. They knew the problem was the toilet, yet he was not prepared to repair it. He said he would report to follow up. I haven’t heard from anyone. Very unhappy.

A/C stopped working and Choice Home Warranty dispatched a repairman and got it fixed in a timely manner. Repairman was very professional and competent. He was very friendly. He explained the problems in detail and told me what caused the unit to stop cooling.

Garbage Disposal had stopped working. Called Choice Home Warranty. Customer service was great to understand the issue and provide technician time provide support. Technician arrived on time, diagnosed the issue, explained why Garbage Disposal had stopped working and resolved the issue.

I have been a Choice customer since 2016. They have been awesome... all of my covered items have been approximately 18 or more years old... in the past 2 1/2 years... I have had my cooktop repaired, have been given a new freezer, a new dryer, and a new washer... which all 3 were old and not feasible to be repaired. So I am very thankful that Choice was there. They have never questioned any claim I have submitted. So as a satisfied customer I recommend the Choice program. Their repair contractors have been awesome, very experienced and professional.

No air conditioning since Monday Sept. 3. Power Jet Services was sent to my home on Sept. 4 and found nothing wrong with his evaluation. (Air came up on occasion) however, he never checked for possible leakage or needing freon or coolant. Next morning the air did not come on so I called and he came again, this time he said it needed coolant. He never noticed that the lines were frozen which means that coolant was needed. The next morning coolant was gone which possibly means there is a leak. I called him again and he said he was unavailable until Monday the following week and that I should call Choice and possibly have them send someone else.
I would rather discuss this with your representative because there is so much more I can tell you about this "technician" who would probably make a better shoe repair person. I would appreciate a phone call to discuss this. I have used your services for about 8 years, fortunately only around 4 times and have been satisfied, however, when I request the same person they tell me they no longer work for you. Something is wrong. A phone call would be appreciated as I still have no air conditioning and am very stressed. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I have recommended a number of people to you but I am now having second thoughts.

A pleasant, personable man who was very neat and tidy. He accomplished the service in a timely manner. I would recommend him as a service provider. He came out on a Saturday which was greatly appreciated by me. I was happy with Choice Warranty with this claim.

Plumbing - To be accurate and fair, the technician this time was fine, even though a contributor to previous wrongdoings. The low rating comes from Choice’s continuing habit of arbitrarily denying claims, sending out multiple techs until an excuse is given to deny claims, and refusing to accept any liability for their contractors. Total loss over the past 2 years, $8000.00.

Freezer not cold - Placed online request for service on Saturday a.m. Heard nothing by Monday a.m., so I called. After a long time on hold, lots of reading from scripts followed, with a promise to get going (apparently nobody does anything on weekends...). Called again Tuesday, more script reading, and I told them I was considering cancelling the policy. Rep pleaded for one more chance. Still no reply by Wed a.m. I called to cancel the policy (paid for 3 years upfront; this was my first claim). Rep begged for a few hours more, said he will get it done or call me back with cancel info by noon. That finally did the trick- got email with a local repair company that morning. The appointment was for the following Tuesday! 11 days after my service request, and it took 3 phone calls!
The email said the service guy would be there Tuesday between 7 and 11 a.m. I called the service guy on Tuesday a.m. to confirm- he said there was no appointment set up, just an approval for him to do an initial evaluation. We set up a visit for the next day- Wed. He found a bad relay, said it was an easy and cheap repair, but that he had to get approval from Choice to proceed. He said he would call them and be back the next afternoon to put in the new relay. He called the next afternoon, said that he could not get through for approval, so would not be there as promised.
Later on Thursday, he did get approval. Arrived on Friday, replaced the bad relay, and good function since. 13 days from request to repair. The Good Part of this experience- the repair guy was good, knew his business, and easy to deal with. Also, Choice comped the $60 Service Fee for my trouble. The Bad part- way too much delay, too much time on the phone, and too much hassle for both us and the service guys to get a simple repair done.

You assigned the Hi Tech Electric for fixing the outlet for me. He seemed really nice guy at the first look. He checked on my outlet and did something and it seemed work at that time. I did also told him that this outlet had the bad issues like the one in my backyard that had been changed due to the defected. The Canyon Electric LLC did the job at that time you did assigned for me. He agreed to replace that outlet for the next day (9/7/18) on the afternoon because he didn't have the parts with him.
I waited for him nearly 4.30 PM Then I called his company and the lady picked up the phone and said to me that she will get the hold with him and finally he did called me back at about 4.45 PM. I asked him that will he be able to come? He said "YES. I will call you when I'm on my way". But he never showed up. I wait for him until 9.00 PM. He never called again to state why he could not come or he needed to postpone. I'm very upset. I hope you understand how upset I am. I hope I can choose the company that I trusted and used to come to fix this kind of problem. I tried to suck up and plugged the cord in again maybe it work. But it never has happened. I feel very disappointed. I should have a peace of mind when my stuffs have been broken and got the right technician to fix it. My suggestion is your company should have someone to screen this kind of technician that they have knowledges.

Both of my experiences with the a/c tech and garbage disposal tech were excellent. Both technicians were knowledgeable and professional. They answered all my questions and were very careful not to dirty my home. I was very impressed by both gentlemen.

When I first subscribed to Choice Warranty, I had my apprehensions as to the service I would receive because of their lower premiums and co-pay for the service-- Well, all the apprehensions have disappeared because upon submitting a my first claim, I couldn't have been more impressed with the timeliness, professionalism, and quality of service performed. I would recommend Choice Warranty to anyone in a heart beat.

The coil on the bottom of the oven was broken. The man from Abbott's was courteous and very helpful and will come back with the part. He is a credit to your organization. Have used Choice for years and so far have been satisfied. Have not had that much go wrong but it is very good to be covered, just in case. Thanks.

At first all went well. Dishwasher repair dispatched quickly. Great technician. But... the repairs were considered more than replacement. At first I was only offered the amount that would cover the cost of the cheapest most basic machine. I have a Bosch that cost twice that much. I declined the offer and waited to hear. My account rep left a vague message to call her to discuss.
After three calls and three messages left over three days without a return call I contacted general customer service. The rep took care of everything satisfactorily at that time (could have saved me three days of phone tag). I was then told the $450 replacement cost agreed upon would take two months to arrive. WHAT?! How am I suppose to get my dishwasher repaired in a timely manner? Ridiculous! Also... no confirmation of our conversation or the expected replacement cost was sent to me so I have no paper evidence of the agreement. I would have expected something. Not an auspicious beginning.

During a reason heatwave, our air conditioner in the attic started leaking and we had to shut it off. When I called in the claim, I explain the problem and asked that we be given priority status because my husband is very sick and cannot take the heat. We were given an appointment for the next day. Allen HVAC Services came within the window of time given and made the repair. Excellent rating for this claim.

It was easy to place a claim and the operator was helpful and kind. I received an email at every step of my claim which was nice. The vendor who was assigned to my claim must have been very busy as it took almost a week to get the appointment. Once he arrived it took a minute for him to hear the washer and determine it could not be repaired. In short we could have done this over the phone. I accepted the the settlement of $299 for the washer which was offered within 24 hours after the service man departed. The problem here is that who can replace a washer for $299? The most reasonable price I could find as a replacement was $500, that being the same Kenmore manufacturer. But I am pleased that the settlement was fast, although the latest email states it could be up to a month the receive a check. With all of the above said, thank you for your service.

Over the period of time that I was making the decision to contract with CHW, I spoke with 2 different salespeople. The first and third were the same, “Tony”. The other’s name escapes me. Tony was excellent in all respects. He listened, his answers were clear, he didn’t push, he guided. It was a good experience. The other person was high pressure, wouldn’t stop talking and was the reason that you almost lost me as a customer. My review is only about my experience with Tony.

First, I get a call stating that someone would be at my house from 11:00-3:00. I was never consulted on the time. I received a call from the worker stating he would be at my house at 1:00. He did not arrive until 3:30. Also I found this person to be rude and I would never want him back in my house again. If this is the type of people you send out I am sorry that I took a policy with Choice.
I had to negotiate about the problem with my dryer. For the past year I have had it looked at 4 times for the same problem. The dryer is about 13 years old and should be replaced. I think it is crazy to keep spending $45.00 each time and then replace a part and not sure it is the problem. I feel like I wasted an entire waiting and being lied to.

Agents (Choice -- Charlie and David) listened to all my concerns about a prior company's unsatisfactory work on the toilet. Technician (A-1 - Kevin) was sent to repair the Master bedroom toilet; he understood the problem; was knowledgeable and courteous. He analyzed the problem and started repairing it and checking it. He was also very neat and picked up all discards/trash. The company (A-1) was prompt to respond to my need for repair. They were efficient and courteous and understood the problem. I would and have recommended your service to others in my neighborhood. Thank you.

The caller acted like a pushy salesperson. I told him I wanted to look at the 5-year plan in writing and then I would choose if I want the 1-year plan or 5-year plan--not to worry I would be one of them, but to call me back at 3 pm. We agreed that I would make my decision then. I guess he didn't want to take a chance on losing a sale because he charged my card the one year plan right after we to off the telephone.

I had reviewed Choice Home Warranty online and decided what I was going to purchase. As I contacted the customer service number I received a pushy salesperson. I wanted to sign up for the service for a year at the flat rate. I kept getting, "Oh sign up for 3 yrs and you'll get this deal, pay full year and you get this deal." I've learned a deal isn't for me but always the seller. This call lasted way too long and I was tempted to hang up and sign up with American Home Shield.

This company wants your money (ie. wants you to buy their `insurance') but will do whatever is possible to deny the claims. I've a 3 year agreement for 2 properties. Probably the worst error of my life. I've had some problems with the AC units. Every claim is denied because there are leaves around (not inside) the compressor housing. No matter how much a unit is maintained or cleaned, they will just deny it as lack of proper maintenance. The customer representatives are rude and not polite and the technicians are unprofessional and uncertified. Wait times, from claim to first technician visits, are 3-4 days or longer. So, if they decide to honor your claim you'll wait ~1 week at a minimum to solve the problem. As the title says, 'Stay away' from them.
