A claim was submitted online to get the air conditioner checked because the fan was not running. The claim was issued very quickly and a technician was identified with a date and time of the appointment within a couple of days.

The dryer wasn't working correctly and the young from Universal repair did a nice job and he told me something new on the dryer. I didn't knoow how to use the auto cycle and he told me how to use. I have the dryer at least 10 years and Just found how to use the auto cycle.

I purchased 2 plans, one for my home and one for my son's home, earlier this year. To date we have tried to have 4 items fixed. Two involved HVAC systems and two involved plumbing problems. We have had nothing fixed by Choice Warranty. In each instance we have had to pay for everything out of our own pockets, in addition to paying the Choice $60.00 service fees. On my HVAC system, their technician even argued with Choice that the $1500.00 problem should be covered. Choice refused to pay. I had to call my old technician to come out and he fixed it, at my expense. The second HVAC tech could not really find a problem on my son's home (the Train unit was almost new) but he added freon, just in case.
After two weeks, it still did not work right, so he called my old technician. He immediately spotted the simple fix-a pipe that had become disconnected. It was fixed, at my son's expense. $120.00. We asked for two plumbing problems to be fixed. Choice sent someone out the first time. He told us leaks are not covered, but offered to fix it, at our own expense, $150.00. On the second problem, the plumber called to say he could come out, but he thought Choice would not pay for the fix. Did I want him to come anyway? We were grateful he called first, but again, this problem had to be paid by us, $170.00. So, to date, we have paid $800.00 for the plans, had 3 services calls for $180.00, and paid for all 4 problems to be fixed out of our own pockets. Unless you have money to burn, do NOT buy this plan!

Appointment was made, technician came out, and made the diagnosis. Ordered parts, installed parts, and a week later the refrigerator ended up doing the same thing. One week later appointment made, and a week later he is back, and now parts has to be ordered again. Now I'm waiting until next week to get the job done. If there is another call out for this problem I will not pay the call out fee.

As my home and appliances are aging I was worried about replacing them all in the near future until a coworker told me about Choice Home Warranty. She told me they were one of the best and that she was please with them. So I called and had a very good experience and sign up for a year to give it a try. The coverage they offer was great and the price is very reasonable.

I was overall pleased with the service. My window of service was 3-8. The contractor called at 4pm saying that he was on the way. He arrived shortly and was done by 5pm. He replaced the door switch. I was pleased and the process was painless. I was also pleased at how quickly the contractor was able to service my washer. I am glad I purchased the warranty. I am pleased and would recommend Choices Warranty to anyone. Thank you.

None of the experiences have been good with your company. The first one with the oven went well. The second one with the plumbing issue with the toilet went terrible. It took 22 days. The third one with the furnace. It’s still ongoing. We are still waiting to get our furnace fixed. We think summer be out here Monday. The technicians have been fine that you’ve sent. It’s your company and dealing with your people in resolution or customer support or wherever you call. It’s on hold forever. They never seem to get anything done right.

It is very bad customer services. I have waiting for 4 days to looking services (hearting system). After 4 day, I have use my own people for the services. They are not take any invoice for my services. Need: customer services and more contract for Reno, Nevada. and also need to another way too if customer hired they are own services company and give refund.

So here is the deal, when I decided to place an order I don't need to be hounded to extend or buy it for more than I want. I am extremely annoyed and had that part of the conversation not taken after I gave my credit card information I would have said goodbye and hung up, you would have lost my business. Let's hope if I need your services within the next year, that part turns out better. I have multiple properties with coverage and never experienced a pain in the ass operator like the ones on your staff. This isn't the first time either.

I have had 2 experiences with your company, both of them were not the best. It took 3 days for someone to show up and the person who did was not even a plumber. I must say I am not happy so far with Choice Home Warranty and will probably not renew my subscription.

The repairman called prior to his arrival to let me know when he would arrive - he was here faster than what he said. He checked out everything and got the unit running. He said it was some loose wires. He also left a temperature gauge here. I called his phone & left a message about his forgotten tool.

If all it takes on ALL claims is to say that the covered appliance was not properly maintained, i.e., dirty coils on a refrigerator, then what's to stop this excuse on everything they supposedly warrant. Very dissatisfied with company and with service.

I felt the salesman was using high pressure to make the sale. I wanted a plan so agreed to enlist. He also offered a lesser price when I was not immediately signing up. I felt the best price should be offered at the beginning.

Electric Dryer Appliance - The appliance repair company arrived within the time stated. The technician was professional and was able to resolve my problem within 1 hour. He answered any questions I had and commented on the clean condition of the appliance that is now 19 years old. He said it looked brand new.

This is my second year with Choice Home Warranty. I just renewed this morning but I almost did not as I am so exasperated with the non-stop calling from customer service to ask me to renew. My warranty was to expire in November, getting a reminder email, phone call or text is fine but since the beginning of September, it has been nonstop and I feel it is borderline harassment. Yesterday I was checking online the cost to renew and I received 5 phone calls every hour the moment I was on the website.
Today, even though I renewed this morning, I received 6 calls all together so far (and the day is not over), 4 of them after the transaction was completed. Twice when I told the person who called that I was getting tired of all these calls, they hang up on me, so rude. The only reason why I renewed is because I was given a pretty good value for the warranty. I was on 2 business appointments yesterday and twice my phone rang from CHW, this is very disruptive and annoying. If I have to go through the same thing next year, I will not renew, too much aggravation. I cannot comment on service calls and repairs as I have never had to call to schedule a service call.

I had several problems with my A/C and had it checked several times. Last time in July 2018 I submitted a claim and it was denied. I talked with the a/c company that was sent to my residence by CHW. I asked them what was wrong with the system and what did their report state. They sent me a copy of it and I compared it to the report that CHW sent me when they denied the claim. Turns out CHW stated that the A/C coil was rusted and that was what caused the problem with the A/C.
I asked the A/C company about this and they stated that they never said anything about rust in their report to CHW and that it was a way for CHW to get out of paying a claim. CHW changed the report so I called and asked them about this. They stated that their people said that had to be the problem with the A/C and that is why the claim was denied. I got the A/C company to come back and look at the coil and there was not rust. The A/C company took photos of the coil and sent them to CHW to show them there was no rust. Ended up in somewhat of an argument with CHW about their deceptive practices and changing the report around for their benefit.
The A/C company said that CHW did this to 3 or 4 other customers, also changed the reports around to deny their claims. I am sending all this information to the NC Attorney General's office and have contact a local TV station in Charlotte about this. The TV station sounded interested in this story so I hope they do a segment about it. CHW called me and offered to give me a refund on my service contract, think this was to try and get rid of me. My best advice is to stay away from CHW and don't purchase their home owner policy. I will never purchase with them again and I am telling everyone I can about what they have done to avoid paying a claim.

Washer - Technician knew exactly what he needed to do the correct the problem. He also showed me how to keep the problem from occurring again. I also like that he was prompt to his scheduled appointment. I am very pleased with the service I receive from Choice Home Warranty.

Called them to schedule someone to come out and look at my broken HVAC unit. They scheduled someone to come look at it and nobody shows. No phone calls, no email responses. After hours of trying to contact these people I finally figure out that the company they even scheduled only has a Facebook page and nonworking phone number. Day two of calling this home warranty company and they tell me they've scheduled someone to be here at 11 to 2. They tell me this at 10:30. This company is a joke. They never respond to calls or emails and have the nerve to send me an email saying that I'm a valued customer. Seriously? No one has showed up to even look at the HVAC and nobody at this company will give me a straight answer when I can actually get them on the phone.

My AC upstairs was not keeping up when the temperature reached 90 or above. It wasn't nearly that warm when the tech came to look at it, but he understood the problem, was able to effectively troubleshoot and be on his way. In the past I have been very unhappy with home warranty companies. This was a pleasant change from past experiences.

Called to renew for one year. Once salesman understood only for a year he rushed off while I was trying to give update information on billing and address change to mail contract. Not interested in taking new information. Really had to stop him from hanging up before updating billing and address information.

I have been a customer of Choice Home Warranty for a couple years now. I have used their services twice. The first time was for my air conditioner and my experience was great. They got a service person out quickly and the part ($50) was replaced. The issue I have is when it counts and my $2,200 microwave stopped working. Choice Home Warranty would not fix it and offered me $170 to "replace" it. I was assigned a claims specialist, who increased the offer to $300. She told me that Choice Home Warranty was not responsible to replace my unit and said their cost are different than retail? Over 90% different. It even says in the fine print that the maximum disbursement for commercial grade appliances in section F 13 in the terms and conditions for GE monogram appliances is $1000. Why would I not get that? Scam.

Purchased a home warranty from this company. Was told, "Oh yes we cover that. Don't worry." Never sent a policy contract to us for us to read. Then when it comes down to it, yea, guess what? They don't cover it. So, after being told one thing and then finding out they don't cover what we needed done which was a plumbing job we cancelled. They immediately stopped drafting our bank account once my husband cancelled. Since then he has received numerous emails trying to get our business back. Then after 7 months they decided to bill us again for a lump sum for the past 7 months. So, once they have your account information, they have it. They said we never cancelled. Contacted our bank when we realized what they had done.
Sadly, the bank already paid them. However, after the bank saw our documentation of cancelling they are in the process of disputing the payment and trying to get our money back. When we called to speak to manager about what was going on he said "We had not canceled." We told him we have the documentation to prove it. Would not take the information. Did not give us a fax number or email address to send it to. And told us we would not get a refund. We are in the process of turning this company over to the Better Business Bureau. You really need to check over other reviews. When we checked the reviews on them when we purchased our warranty nothing was negative on them. Now, when we check there are several out there. THIS COMPANY IS A FRAUD. Be aware.

Discovered leak on Sunday. Shortly after I filed a notice on line, I was given an appointment for Monday afternoon. Repairman called before coming and replaced the garbage disposal. He also put me in touch with a company to come out and check for any possible water damage in the floor of the cabinet or the wall behind. We were very pleased with everything! Thank you!

Martinez Plumbing was on site less than 25 minutes also after fixing the front and back outside faucets which was not in the order. This guy was a real professional who knew exactly what each problem was and immediately fix them.

AM PM Services was prompt, professional and perfect. 1st, they called shortly after requesting service. 2nd, they had a window to service us a day early. 3rd, the technician satisfied every concern we had and even returned after completion to answer additional questions I had. 4th, this is why I have been a customer CHW for over 5 years and have extended my coverage for another 5 years. CHW is a 5 star warranty company!

Been without water since last Monday. Today is 10/9/2018, spend $80.00 in water, missed three days from work because the technicians had not come yet they schedule 3 times to come out. Has not showed up yet after they said they were missed three days from work. Waiting on them. Unacceptable, poor allowing, wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

I started claim on 9/20 and my dishwasher and garbage disposal are still not repaired. The vendor never answers my phone call or calls me back. I cannot wash dishes because my sink is leaking and my control board is out on my dishwasher. I send inquiries to the home warranty to check the status and I always get a bogus/generic message saying the vendor will get with me ASAP and never does. I am super angry and wish that I had gone with a different home warranty company as I do not have peace of mind. I would like some resolution or a phone call soon to discuss. Even the customer service department lacks empathy, hence the reason I am not even calling back.

I am with Choice warranty from 3 years. This is my first valid claim with them. Day1: My AC stopped working. So created a claim online as it's not easy to get to their customer care. Day5: Technician visit my home. And says problem with Air Blower. Day6: My claim was rejected. As per choice warranty. Blower will go bad only when you don't do maintenance. (Fyi: I do maintenance every year. But did not keep the records). Day 7 to Day 14: Tried to reach out to Choice warranty. But they are very rude. Day14: Lost hope with them so called my own technician. Day15: My technician fixed in 3 hours and the problem is with my circuit. NOT BLOWER. Day18: Choice warranty says, we still cannot approve your claim as you did not take approval from us before fixing and paid 30% of my expenses after lot of struggle. WHAAAAAAAT? Maybe I have to suffer few more weeks without AC. So please avoid this company.

After paying for 2 years service on a new home, I had a problem with my AC unit. They refused to cover it as according to their agent, it "had not been serviced as it should have been." Their reason was because they found dust. The unit was serviced 10 months prior and they still refused to cover issue. Total waste of money. I could have saved the premium to just invest in my AC issue and come out way ahead. Do not recommend this company as it's just a scam to get money. They will always find a "way" that your home issue is not covered by their supposed "full coverage" warranty.

I have been with CHW for approx. 8 months. First time using CHW was 1 week ago. They immediately have someone come out to check and repair my system the next day. The company they chose was dependable and accurate. I was told by a family member about CHW and I'm very thankful. I've never had coverage for home appliances before. Now I know what I have been missing. My wife and I feel very comfortable and secure know that CHW has us covered. The customer service is great. The customer service rep. made me feel very comfortable discussing my problem and listened to me, thus providing me with what I needed to be done. I really like and appreciate CHW... I would recommend them anytime. Also they have such an affordable plan. Can't beat the price.

I have a wall socket which the top one worked and the bottom one didn't. Your employees messed around with the breaker box, which isn't labeled. They replaced the wall socket, which doesn't work at all now. Also, there are several other electrical outlets that don't work now. That includes the ceiling fan in the den, the outlets in the west wall of the den, the ceiling fan in the guest room, and the outlets in the east wall of the guest room. Now you are trying to blame a faulty wire! I don't believe that this would have happened if your employees knew what they were doing. I called a local electrical repair service, and the owner said that it would cost me anywhere from $300 to $900 to repair a faulty wire! I do not believe that this is fair! I have turned this over to my attorney to see if I have any recourse.

Just signed-up with CHOICE. So far the experience has been very positive. Salesperson was helpful and very good at his job. If the service is as strong, we will have made a right decision. The fact that they are willing to start the contract 2 months down the road made the difference.

On Oct. 5, 2018 I had service on my air condition. When they checked the unit I was told it had a leak in the condenser, they couldn't fix it because you would not pay for it. In your booklet it states if we can't fix it we will replace it. So what is the problem? Will they fix it or not. I have been with you for a while now. Is this the way you treat your customers?.

My only complaint is that it took too long to make A/C repair, four days. The Technician did not arrive in schedule time. One was four and a half hours late, was after dark when he came, but he came and I appreciate that. He just had a heavy workload. Repair was made, working fine.

Dishwasher - It took 4 days for the repairman to arrive. He was very pleasant, had a depth of appliance knowledge and proceeded to locate the problem. He informed us that we could contact him directly if we experienced any further issues. Very pleased with this experience - other than actually experiencing the difficulty.

Choice Home Warranty is a SCAM... Our air conditioner went out and the reason Choice Home Warranty gave for not covering the part was that it should not of gone out so soon because the part's life expectancy should have been longer. "DUH". When our refrigerator went out after 13 years, they said that the compressor must have gone out because it had a Freon leak that blew onto the compressor... The technician they sent would not leave a receipt or a written diagnoses and what he told us was completely different from what he reported to Choice.
There was definitely something hinky about the technician they sent, when calling his phone there was never an answer and no message other than leave a phone number after the beep, no company name or even saying it was a business. Choice Home Warranty blows. Please don't be another victim, don't waste your money and don't believe the lies that are posted about them being the number one in home warranties, they are only number one in talking you into buying their worthless warranty, and number one is finding a way out of covering any repairs.

I own and managing several properties. Because of my past bad experiences with other companies, I switched to Choice Home Warranty and just thought to give them a try. I contracted with Choice since a year ago. Most service calls and claims made during the term with Choice, I ended up hired outside contractors to complete the repair, and most of those repairs are minor and covered in what Choice advertised. Some report from outside contractors does not match with what Choice's contractor's report on Choice's web-site.
I even got a technician sent by Choice came to the plumbing repair in tuxedo. Of course there was no repair, but trip charge was demanded. My toilet was leaking, so I shut the water supply off of the toilet, they came, check and reported fixed. All they did was tighten up the washer instead of to replace it. Right away after they left, tank was filled, and so was the pipe, it started to drip again... technician never showed up afterward, not answering the call. Things like this happens to almost every claim. Be aware when you hire any Home Owner's Warranty company. Choice Home Warranty so far is a bad choice.

Placed a work order at 8 pm and Vegas pro was scheduled at 11 am next day! Danny from Vegas pro was really amazing! Customer service from Choice was so helpful! Everything was fixed in one day with no hassle or denial! Vegas pro was very prompt on arrival! This was my first claim with Choice Home Warranty and I'm very pleased!

Refrigerator - I placed an order on September 26. The technician from Superior Appliance came to my residence. He was no longer employed with Superior Appliance, took the 45 service fee and never returned. Your company needs to do a better job of screening your contractors. This is a poor reflection of your services. This was my first time using your my warranty. I hope this experience is an anomaly. At this time I waiting on the next contractor with whom I made initial contact with on October 1. This contractor is on the “way” to my house on October 5. Oh and by the way, I had to throw away all my food. That was not a pleasant experience.

So I replied to an offer online from an email I received from Choice. Within seconds of submitting an inquiry I got a call from New York by a Choice sales agent that said he could handle my transaction and get me a better deal. I decided to switch to Choice after researching that you are #1. He kept trying to up sale me to a 5 yr than a 3 yr plan with a lump sum payment and I told him finally that I wanted one yr deal with monthly payments; I had to threaten to abandon the transaction to get him to stop. This morning I see my account was debited for 440.00 that I did not authorize. I called and spoke to a resolution manager who said she would fix it but nothing yet after 3 hours. 10-05-2018. Would like a return call from sales agents supervisor.

Would not cover my claim of A/C Unit burn out due to normal wear and tear. Unit went out on 9/3/2018. I had to pay out of pocket to get it fixed on 9/18/2018. They made me wait for an answer, then they told me I did not have permission to fix it. So we are not paying for it to be fixed.

We recently purchased an older home and knew we wanted some home warranty protection if needed for things that arise. Not long into living there we had issues with our central heating and air conditioning unit two consecutive times and it was an absolute battle with them on claims. First one they covered due to the capacitor going bad in the unit. The second issue we had "only after 4 months being there" was with our coils in the unit. The unit in our garage was leaking due to a pinhole being in the coil.
They would not cover fixing this due to saying it was because of "Rust and Acidic from cleaners inside the home" that caused the coil to go bad. I'm no genius but with a 15 yr old unit and moisture being on coils that stay cool I'm sure at some point there is probably going to be a little rust. This unit was inside my garage and not even outside. For the little problems that arise they are more than glad to help you. Have a bigger issue and see what happens. Buyers beware. I canceled my policy with this company due to service I have received with them.

I called regarding a leaking toilet. Took 2 days to respond. The guy was 4 hours late. I don’t think he was even a Plummer. Did not bring any tools in nor had parts. Simple parts all plummets would carry. Said he had to come back. Canceled that appointment. Had to reschedule. Still no repair has been done!! If there was a zero star I would have given zero!

I had a service call for my thermostat on Oct 4th, 2018. The technician was very knowledgeable and fixed the problem without any other costs other the service fee. He made some suggestions regarding my air conditioning system which I appreciated. Overall a good experience.

I called for an AC repair on Thursday and no one came to fix it until Wednesday... This is almost one week of no ac when it is over 90 degrees outside. That is not satisfactory. I am in Florida and it is still hot. Their choice of repair companies leaves something to be desired.

I purchased Choice Home Warranty based on reviews in 2017. The sales representative offered me a 5 yr plan at discount price and also with a lower service fee. As I was hesitant, he even made it 6 yr coverage for the same amount. I was not interested in getting into such a long contract as you never know how the service would be and also I have a job where I typically move every 3-4 yrs. However, I went for that long duration plan only after the sales guy gave me in writing over an email that the policy can be canceled and prorated refund would be given at the time of cancellation. At that time he did not mentioned any other terms and conditions for cancellation.
Over 2 years, I just had 2 claims. Only one was paid. Unpaid one was for my AC unit that was not cooling adequately. I contacted Choice and they sent a tech to my home. Tech stated that the unit has low refrigerant and most likely has a leak. In order to detect a leak, he need to do a leak test and it would cost $100 which is not covered by home warranty. So he took the service call fee as well as $100 for leak test to tell me that there is a leak and evaporator coil needs to be replaced. He put in a claim with Choice and Choice refused the claim saying it's due to the lack of maintenance. Choice Tech quoted me $2200 to repair. I contacted Choice to understand what maintenance is needed and what is the evidence that leak occurred due to lack of maintenance.
No response came from Choice even after multiple attempts. Meanwhile, I called another tech on my own and he did his diagnosis including the leak test and other things all in the cost of the service fee and indicated that a TEV is blocked. The TEV was replaced and AC started worked fine without any addition of refrigerant (total spend of $200). I asked the tech price if I have to change the evaporator coil which he verbally indicated to be b/w 1200-1400 $ for original manufacturer spare.
I felt that there is no use to stay with this warranty when the dealing are so deceitful and called to cancel my plan. Mind you I paid 1750 for 6 yrs (5 paid yrs + 1 free year) of coverage. I send them cancellation request via email and also attached the copy of sales guy's email that I had while purchasing the policy. But they respond by providing me a phone no. to call for cancellation.
After 23 months, I was penalized by being prorated on the full price of the warranty for 23 months. Not even prorated at 5 years prices even if I leave out the free year. Plus $50 of so-called administration fee. But what HURTS the most is that they also deducted the claim amount for the only other claim that I had (of $135 for repair of garage door opener) from the refund. I feel this is unfair as I paid them for coverage for almost 2 years and then they deducted the only claim they have provided me while also keeping the amount for months covered (even at non discounted price). I indicated to them that when I purchased this policy, the sales guy never indicated their terms but the resolution center lady was not ready to listen to anything.
I feel that Choice has deceptive practices and lousy customer service. Moreover, they do not have any complaint resolution or any way to provide feedback to their management. It shows the culture of the company. BE AWARE of this company, especially of their multi-year contracts, they are written in a way that they would pay you nothing overall. My lesson is to never enter into long-term contracts with Choice or other such companies.

I spoke to Jasmine, who states that she does not have a supervisor or manager and is the highest up in her department. She refused to offer anything over $800 and claims she found various refrigerators at around $800 while on the phone. I looked and cannot find anything under $2200. I asked her if she could meet her own maximum liability and she said no. This is not what I was promised when I switched over to CHW, I was told that they would replace it with a like model in the event it would need to be replaced. I have had CHW for about 4 years and have only about 3 or 4 claims total. I would never again recommend CHW to anyone.

It was an offer I could not refuse because I had already decided to buy a warranty. I am very pleased with the deal. The Technician Rex; knew what the problem was and had it fixed in several minutes; as to why my refrigerator was not cooling. He arrived between the timeline assigned to me and he stayed for ten minutes to assure that the refrigerator was cooling properly. Gave instructions on what to do if it happens again and gave a 30-day warranty.

Please Run From this Company! Called in a claim and the tech came out and noted that the refrigerator had a previous repair, but the compressor needed to be replaced. They denied the claim. I appealed and got a case manager name Samantha **. She told me after consideration they are denying the claim due to faulty repairs. I told her I spoke with technician and he didn’t say repairs caused damage. She said she was calling him. She called and he told her that is not what he said. She then told me well they are still denying the claim. I asked why and she stated “your refrigerator is too new, so it must be a manufacture defect."
I asked her was she a repair person, and she said no. I ask then how in the hell can you say that. I ask her to what does the tech say. He said there was no way he could say it is a manufacture defect. She said she will give me $150, because I said cancel my policy. I said I accept your $150. She said she was processing it. I said now cancel my policy. She told me that I would receive a refund of $274. She called me back 4 days later and said since I have been complaining, they are taking the $150 out of my $274. I called her an idiot and hung up. Please save your money! There are numerous contractors that are doing reviews on how this company is screwing its customers. Again this company is a Scam!!! Please run!!!

I felt the salesperson was pushy and wouldn't take no for an answer. I committed to a 1 year package, was happy he was willing to price match a competitor's quote, so I gave him my credit card information. He then tried to upsell me and I did not appreciate his attitude and insistence when I wanted to stick to what I had agreed to. I am satisfied with the policy coverage and price.

My air conditioning died. It took three days for Choice to have a company come out. The company said it may be the breakers, which they changed and the unit worked for 5 minutes, then went off again. However, the breakers in the air conditioning unit are not covered so I had to pay an additional $65.00 to the company that come out. I called the HVAC company 5 minutes after they left and let them know whatever they did it did not work. They said it must be the condenser and would get approval from Choice to fix. Two weeks later, nothing. I called Choice and they never heard from the company and cannot get me the $65 back. I would have to go the HVAC company. Now another company is coming out to try to resolve. Very shady!

Central Air Conditioning was not working in our vacation home - This experience was much better than a previous experience in March 2018 when CHW did not cover repairs to a built-in microwave. This time a claim was called in on Sunday evening and the vendor made a temporary repair on Tuesday when we arrived at our home in Henderson, Nevada. The problem was corrected (replacement of a power board) the next day. The technician was able to diagnose the problem immediately. He was extremely competent and professional. As bad as our first experience with CHW was, this time the problem was handled in an efficient and timely manner. The ratings below reflect the experience with this claim not the problem with the microwave. To be honest, I was in the process of shopping for a new home warranty company before this problem arose.

The technicians arrived promptly as he stated he would. All matters regarding the fee were taken care of before the work was done. Technician completed the job and did it in a timely manner. The company TEMPEST TECH APPLIANCE REPAIR worked with me and I highly recommend the company. However, my problem is with Choice Home Warranty. When I called for make my claim, it was explained to me that the repair company would back to me within 24 hours. This never happened. I just happened to check my email and noticed that I had a scheduled appointment. On Tuesday the day of the appointment I received another email for another appointment on Monday October 8th. I was confused. I immediately called the company and they worked something out with me to visit my home the same day. Choice Warranty need to have better communication skills and instructions for customers.

Please provide accurately on the "Claim Status" from your website or provide the descriptive explanation for what is really going on with the status of my claim otherwise it cause real frustration to your customers. My Claim ** was waiting for part approval from your department 10/3/2018, I waited whole day to check the status if it was approved, when I log in to check the claim status was "Closed", no communication about the part was ordered and I tried to call the vendor, the vendor voicemail is full and he does not answer the phone/ text back. I called your customer service department, the representative informed me that the part is ordered and it is waiting to get the part, so eventually, the vendor will come to fix it again.
This message should be documented on the claim and my claim should not have a "Closed" status without any communication to the customer! I don't have my microwave for 2 weeks now, and your website process and "Claim Status" does not provide true status for the self-help customers. This process is broken. Please consider to really fix this disconnect communication process for the customer. Other Home Warranty Co., once the vendor makes the determination parts are needed they email the warranty provider and it is a transparent process, I can see the approval email and I can see the communications. Also if I call the vendor, they will respond or at least call you back or text you back.

They would not cover my AC repair. They go out of their way to sell and also find a way based on the contract not to cover you. I am now stuck with a $2000 repair out of pocket because they made their own determination and not based on the actual technicians. Horrible experience. The technician also stated he is not going to work with them ever again because they keep doing this to a lot of his customers. Read other reviews from other sites, they are bad. Please don't let them do to you what they did to me.

Rust is normal wear and tear. I am so very disappointed. It took a lot for me to buy this warranty as my finances are very tight. It was insurance. It cost me $200 for the tech to do what he did because you don't cover his service, either, besides the fact that you will not cover the actual repair or replacement. I have friends that I referred to Choice. I will tell them to get off your plan as soon as possible. I cannot tell you how upset I am. I am shaking inside.

You're our the worst company I ever had to deal with, when you sold me the policy it sounded great until you need to use it. I have a unit that is old but well maintained and you people all you did was try to worm your out of fixing using any excuse in the book not to do what I wanted. I was a good customer for years but not anymore and my two children that are policyholders will not renew also. Also you are making wait a month to get payout of 700.00. That’s not right.
And I am a disabled veteran and 73 years old living Las Vegas and had to live with over 90 degree heat in my house for a week. I also have a lot of friends in the VA and trust me they are all going to get the word! And now you can review this report and show your fellow workers and sit there, have a good laugh and I am sure this report is going to go nowhere. This property is in Virginia and you assign a company in North Carolina. They only come to our area once a week and they wanted to come between 3 and 8pm. The property is rented to a family with small children so that late time was terrible. The problem with this is if they need to order a part that usually takes a week and if it comes in after the next trip to this area it could be a 3 week repair job. Totally unacceptable. I called Choice to please reassign it and after 24 hours they could not find someone to pick up the job. I asked if I could find someone and they said yes but the technician must call them from the job and get it approved before they did the work. The guy said he was on the phone 45 minutes waiting and finally had to leave to go to another appointment.
He could have fixed it then but could not get approval. When he finally got someone to talk to they said he had to go back and give them all the numbers off the system before they could ok it. It was late by then and we were all frustrated. I told him to go ahead and fix it and we would deal with Choice later as it was in the high 80s and the tenants were very upset. I am very disappointed with Choice at this point. I am a property manager and will quit recommending your company if this is how you will be treating us. I do have a few others with you now but no more.

This was our first claim on our Choice Home Warranty, so we didn’t really know what to expect. I placed the claim online and was contacted shortly after via email and phone call. CHW contacted the service contractor and later that day we got a phone call from the contractor to confirm the appointment. The contractor came the very next day, my wife was home and met with the service tech and was very happy with the service and explanation he gave. The contractor submitted the repair request to CHW, which was approved in less than a day. The contractor was going to order the parts needed and we are just waiting to hear back and get the repair completed. While we hope we don’t have to use the Choice Home Warranty again for a while, we are so happy that the claim process went so smoothly, and won’t be worried when we need to call Choice again - Thank You.

I have had two claims with Choice. I had a water pressure control valve fail and it took over 6 days and 10+ email to get it resolved. I had to hire a plumber because Choice could not provide an "in-network" tech. My second claim was for a ceiling fan that failed. I took almost a month to get that resolved. All they would offer is $70.00 (contractor grade fan). I have to purchase the fan and they will send me a check within 30 days. What a joke. Read your contract as to what is excluded, you will be surprised how little coverage you have.

That Max Service Air Conditioning was scheduled for the next day, Mon. between 3 to 8pm. They actually called Mon. to say they could arrive about 1:30. They arrived at that time and were able to take care of the issue. Very courteous and knowledgeable technicians. Needless to say I am a very "Happy Camper".

Called at 9:40AM on Monday 10-01-2018. The repairman from Tech Pro Cooling and Heating was here within minutes of the 3:00PM start of the promised time gap. I had a functioning air conditioner by 3:45PM. I could not have more delighted with the response time and the successful repair. Although my disposal did get fixed, I still have some concern and this is the 2nd time in a year that it has frozen. I tried with all my might to turn the disposal without calling for help, but it just would not turn. The repairman was able to break it loose, however it was 3 days before anyone came. My concern is that this will continue to happen and I think it needs replacement.

I am displeased with your offers, regarding the Kenmore Elite gas range we have. The service tech you sent was great! He fixed the problem in a short time. However he said that this will "probably" happen again and recommended the (4) burners and related parts be replaced. Shortly thereafter I received a call from "Aonisa," your service agent. Again, great job on that lady's part.
(Now for the problem:) Aonisa said, that the parts for the repair(s) would exceed, $1,200.00 not counting labor. At this point Aonisa, said that the company would not pay for the repairs. I know, as a former service Company owner and rep for (3) major companies including Jacuzzi, American Standard, and Viking Spas for over 39 years this would be a falsehood. WHY? Because I spoke with Sears online and inquired about the cost of the said parts. As a walk in with no formal agreement or contract with Sears I would pay retail for these parts. The tech quotes me a price of, $637.99 which would include shipping to my home. Obviously, your price for these parts is well below what I would pay on the open market.
Therefore, your statement as to the parts cost is Bogus and, to make it appear to the average person that the cost ratio to parts/labor is too high. I was also informed as to Article, (16) I believe, regarding (YOUR) options. I was informed that your company would offer a payout of $349.99 which I declined and a counter offer of, $399.99 was made. Later that Day (10/01/2018) Another call by, Aonisa said, a final offer of $499.99 would be final. At this point I am very disgusted in your company's handling of this matter. I will NOT renew my agreement with your company and will seek coverage elsewhere! My experience with your company has left a bitter taste that I will not soon forget!!

It is taking over a month to get my dryer repaired. They are sending repair people who have to troubleshoot for 2 weeks, going into the third week, and then pass it onto a duct company that does heating & ac work and won't touch the dryer ducts. Then to top it off, they wanted me to pay a service fee to each service tech for the same job. My dryer is still not fixed.

So, I signed up with Choice Home Warranty in 2016 for a policy of 6 years. The sales person I talked to at that point said that because I paid in full, one time the entire amount of money ($1889.00), I'm entitle to one year for free and 4 service calls without co-payment. Well, let me tell you guys this: I used this insurance company only three times in two years span time for the following repairs: two times it was added to one of my AC unit 2 lb of Freon, and once a valve of my washing machine was replaced - all worth about $450.00 together.
So, on Friday, September the 28th I called to make a claim for my water heater which in the contract I received in 2016, it is mention that is covered under my policy. On Monday, October the 1st, 2018 a technician who was assigned to may claim came to check on it, and surprise: the claim for my water heater was declined under the section D etc as irreparable. Obviously I called the company, Choice Home Warranty to check with them about the issue, and yes they declined my claim. As a result, I could not see any point to keep this policy, so ask the CS rep. to reimburse me for the remaining time, which is 3 years and 3 months - that should be about $1020.00. If you somehow believe that you'll get your money back, you are totally wrong.
I was told that I have to pay penalties for ending the contract, pay the values of the services I received, so I'll be reimbursed in total with about $269.00. My advice to all of you, thinking about to sign up with the Choice Home Warranty, is to keep your money in your wallets and do something good with them, because if you need service from Choice Home Warranty they will pay only very small claims and get along with your money.

Very unprofessional company beginning with Louis ext #** that sold me the policy - then on when I actually needed to use your service to fix my a/c to 1st call Perseala then on 2nd call Latrice then on 3rd call Maggie. I was never told your company was not a 24 hour service provider to fix my broken covered things before I bought this policy from Louis!! It even states in your manual paperwork that you are a 24 hour company there to help and take care of your customers. Please give me a fricken break - yes your company is there to rudely answer the phone & that's it!! I was told per your reps that you are not a 24 hr company to fix anything & there you do not provide no emergency service!!!

I bought their annual Home Warranty for $399.00 August 6, 2018. On September I made a claim for my microwave worth $456.14 and they only want to give me $169.99. I have requested for the last month to talk to someone as I will NOT accept this settlement. It seems that the company only has ONE case manager to deal with this, as I call almost every day (except weekends) and send e-mails at least once a day and have not had any response. I believe you all should take away the BBB stamp of excellence that you have given them in the past, because in 2018 they are really BAD. NO customer service. I am asking for a refund of $399.00 that I paid them for the annual warranty fee so I can get my microwave fixed. Please let me know what you can do for me.

Only having one service rep in the Phoenix, Az. area is not acceptable. Not being able to use kitchen for two days is not a speedy solution to repairing a problem. I was informed by the telephone representative there is no other person to speak with about this problem. This company is located 46 miles from my home, and I can't believe that an area the size of Phoenix only has one company contracted for home warranty service. I will more than likely look for a different company when this contract is up for renewal.

Many clauses in the contract to be able to deny a claim. First time to use the service and claim was denied on electronic refrigerator boards. Technician is given a report to submit that is like a multiple choice questionnaire. A reason is chosen to not cover an item not based on all of the facts. My claim was denied without question due to a claimed power surge. My home is equipped with a full inline surge protection and conditioner system. The likeness of a power surge affecting one item in my home, this being the refrigerator is very unlikely. My case was disputed and again a decision was reached not to cover the item. Meanwhile, we are without a fridge for over two weeks. The clauses are used in the contract to not proved coverage.
I have the premium coverage for two homes and will be looking to cancel due to the lack of coverage and the amount of my time and aggravation this has caused. It is very difficult to get anyone on the phone and when you finally do they are not decision makers. It is requested to do everything online. Again another run around of wasted time. I was very apprehensive about purchasing a home warranty as I was warned be a client that they had a poor experience with a different company. I did my research and was limited to companies available in my area of the country, East Texas.
I went by the so called reviews and went with Choice. I was feeling fortunate that I went with a warranty company as we had gone out of town and returned to a problem with the fridge. All the food had to be thrown out and I notified Choice of the problem. The technician was in contact with me after the visit and recommended that all of the boards be replaced as to not just replace one as it could not be determined were exactly the problem was located. It was not a power surge. The technician tried to expand it and was having difficulty reaching the warranty company as well. The time and trouble is not worth the so called coverage! Too many clauses used to search for a reason to not cover items. Read the contract very carefully!

On Sept 20 my well pump stop working. I call Choice Home Warranty about it. They me some one will get back to in a few hours. 24 hours pass no contact me. I call the on. Was told they could not find anyone but if I could find someone and pay for it they could refund back my money. The contractor came out and spoke the Choice Home Warranty about the problem and was told to go ahead and they would get back to me. 3 hours after I pay for the job was told that they do not cover my well in contract. I paid for cover for my well so now I contact Choice Home Warranty again. I was told Nicole that they would give me back a full refund of my paid and I cancel the contract.

Had CHW on several Homes for a couple of years. CHW is the Cheapest of the major Home Warranty companies. And there is a reason why. CHW has terrible contractors. In my case CHW sent out a contractor (Heat Pump repair), whom did not return a estimate, after waiting over a week and a half. I had to beg and plead with CHW to get a Estimate from my own contractor (after not hearing from CHW). My contractor stated what the problem was. CHW did not want to pay for the repair. I had to threaten to cancel my contract, for CHW to take any action. But that action, did not solve the problem (a $500.00 check on a $4000.00 repair).
Here are the issues with CHW: Bad Technicians, whom do not follow up or give estimates on the repair. The Hold Times on the Phone are over 1 hour. (Especially a problem if a Tech is on hold that long). Technicians work not good, had to get a repair that was done by CHW, done again by my Tech. Because of the Bad Work done by CHW. Please, please read the Fine Print. Sometimes, Cheaper is not Better...

It has been 5 days since I called in to get my air conditioner fixed. I have called CHW 3 times a day for the last 3 days. The representatives have been kind and considerate, however, only the last rep was able to actually do something instead of give me the runaround. After A Team Air Conditioning the company CHW sent to work on our unit dropped a major ball on getting the information back to CHW in a timely manner we tried to hire our own air conditioning technician to replace the motor. CHW has offered less than 1/3 of the cost of the repairs.
I am waiting, in my hot home with 100+ degree weather to hear from a Manager at CHW to discuss why I declined their offer to pay almost nothing towards the costs of repairing our broken unit. I am almost in tears over the hours I have spent on the phone with CHW, sleepless nights for my family, money spent on a hotel room, sitting in a hot house (I work from home) waiting nearly a week to get this issue resolve/fixed. I am appalled at how this has been handled. I asked multiple reps multiple times if they could transfer me to a supervisor and I was told no. How is there no Sup around to deal with these serious issues?

Air Conditioner was not cooling. The repair men that came cleaned the outside unit and replaced a part. They checked the coolant and since that part was replaced, the unit seems to be working well now. Recommend that you maintain them for future air condition claims.

When I called in the claim, I specifically told the rep what the problem was and she set up the wrong tech costing me a day of work waiting for nothing. I then called and the right tech was set up, however again the rep didn't listen and set up the app't for a day I was not available causing me to have to reschedule with the tech.
On the scheduled day the tech "broke down" and I again wasted a day of work waiting for someone who never bothered calling me, I had to call them. On the 3rd try getting my dryer issue addressed, the tech still hadn't called during the time frame he was supposed to show so I called to find out he was running late. The tech arrived 1 hour late driving an unmarked truck and wearing house shoes. He was here less than 1 hour. I then get an email from Choice telling me they're denying my claim on the dryer... Excuse me? I missed 3 days of work for this, told you exactly what the issue was needing to be fixed and you wait until the tech finally shows up to tell me it isn't covered? You wasted my time for no good reason! And after the tech was gone, I had to clean up after him!

Technician arrived on time and was very respectful to my house and me. The technician went straight to work and diagnosed the problem in less that 15 minutes. He had the parts on hand (in his truck) and replaced them after consulting with some one on the phone. After the installation test and inspection he gave me the operators manual of my new garbage disposal. I was very impress with his equipment and the truck he arrived in with serious parts and supplies bins. This guy was ready for heavy lifting! And was finished in under 45 minutes total time. My wife and I have never seen this in this area. Usually it's a technician working out of his car or personal truck then they need to leave and buy the parts after weeks of consulting with management. I am very impressed with Choice and thinks this should be the standard for Home repair.

Contacted the warranty service for issues with Dryer, was contacted a few days later by repair tech, tech came and determined that there was an issue with timer and assured me he would have part ordered and repair my Dryer ASAP... Week and a half later, repair was not completed. I called repair company and was informed that they were in fact waiting for warranty company to approve part order. Called warranty company and they informed me that repair tech took long to request approval for part order, did not actually request approval till I called to follow up on delayed repair... I feel like both companies failed to follow up and shift blame to the other party for the delay in my repair.

Called in and unless I would pay another trip fee your company would do nothing. Found out from the contractor that he was busy moving his family. You need to vet your contractors better. If my fiancé was not at home, I believe this guy would have cut corners. He looked unprofessional. He did not have on a work uniform and his car was old and beat up. If I was home, I would not have opened the door. Our air conditioning was leaking and coming through our ceiling. He said it would cost over $200 to check to see if there was a leak through the line. So technically I still don't know if there is a leak which we wanted to know. We did not get the answer. He really looked like he didn't want to do any work. After much research I selected Choice Home Warranty based on reviews. I purchased a 4 yr. plan. Had the plan for 13 months and had 5 claims. Only one claim was covered. Most recently my AC unit stopped working. I contacted Choice and they sent a tech to my home. They stated that the unit stopped working due to the lack of maintenance. And that Choice would not cover the repair. They quoted me 1500 to repair. I contacted Choice and they stated it was not covered and the ac failure was my neglect. I was so I annoyed I canceled my plan. Mind you I paid 1750 for 4 yrs. of coverage. After 13 months I received 913 back. I was penalized for 125 as well as a being prorated on the full price of the yearly warranty.
After 15 day I received my refund and contacted a local AC company to repair my unit think it cost 1500 as stated by the original tech. It was determined that a capacitor was defective and not a lack of maintenance. I contacted Choice and they refused to consider entertaining the claim stating that I canceled my policy and there was nothing that could be done. I feel that due to the deceptive practices the AC company Choice contracted. Choice was unwilling to provide. Customer service even with the amount of money I spent for the policy. Beware.

My review is purely based on the fact that I expressed concern several times with regard to first service provider sent (Electricians & Plumbers Beyond), was told that there would a "thorough" investigation into the service provider... but not given any details in regard to follow-up. Based on the behavior of the tech demanding cash money, tracking human waste all over my house, and trying to touch my children with human waste on his hands... I hate that I switched to Choice. Getting repairs takes forever and now I’m being informed that your company has to approve and order the parts before they are done. When you try to call and speak to a agent it’s almost impossible unless you want to wait a hour plus on hold. I have never had this type of service with American Home Shield.

Submitted my first claim for a leak in the master bath shower. They first tried to say that they were not even going to come out to look at the shower because I did not say exactly what was broken. I had to call and argue with some guy with a foreign accent and very hard to understand that I was NOT a plumber and how could I tell what the problem was other than a leak. They did send out a plumber to look at the leak. The plumber determined it was a cartridge that was leaking and needed replacing. Of course, looking at my warranty they do not cover a cartridge on a faucet.
When I asked why, all I would get over and over was 'thank you for being a valued customer' also that I could file a form to have my claim reviewed. I filled out the form for a review but I am not expecting much. Bottom line, they basically exclude just about anything that would need to be repaired because it gets worn out over time from usage. My renewal is coming up so I will NEVER renew with these clowns and please do not waste your money on these fools.

As background which I thinks provides context for my comments, I live in an upscale climate controlled condominium in downtown Philadelphia. Upon the electrician's arrival to my condo, among the first thing he communicates to me while we're in the elevator going to my unit is a litany on how much he hates working downtown. Not the best first impression for me however we'll move on.
When he arrives to my unit he examines the circuit breaker. My specific issue is that a particular fuse switch would continually break and need resetting. Over the course of the next 20 minutes, the electrician's examination and disassembles the fuse box and with my assistance we attempt to recreate the circumstances that would cause the breaking of the fuse without success.
During the electrician's examination he tells me that he's unable to identify the problem however he would recommend Home Choice to cover the replacement of all the fuse switches contingent the bundling of a $250.00 not covered by insurance fee to "dust" the fuse box. He was very adamant about showing me how dusty the fuse box was. I will attest there was a "modest" amount of dust in the fuse box.
When he initially made his recommendation I had calmly requested that it'd be repeated for my own clarity which resulted in him provided me with an emotionally agitated response. I broke in during this exchange and told him firmly but respectfully that my request was made only to clarify my understanding. He did repeat his recommendation in a calmer, professional manner and tone after this.
I followed up and asked if he would consider recommending the replacement of the fuse switches less the $250.00 uncovered dusting service. He adamantly and emotionally replied that he would not do so and he doubled down on his intentions of only providing a replacement of the switches in combination with the dusting service. He even wiped dust from the switch box to reinforce his position it needed dusting. With this final proclamation I had no doubt about his intentions and so he closed up shop and I wrote a check and he left.
Before residing where I currently do I’ve lived for many years living in homes that have had switch boxes located in the dusty environs of an unfinished basement. The notation that my switch box requires a $250.00 dusting service whether covered or not covered by your insurance stretches credulity. When I connect the dots with what's described above along with my belief that an appropriate resolution to my issue is likely an repair, I cannot help but feel as though this was some attempt to gin up cost to make a low profit service call into something more lucrative. This is my conjecture based on my experience but it has left me less than happy with this initial service experience.

Now Choice refuses to repair, & offers less than 30% on a 3 1/2 yr. old unit! Wish I had more space for details. Customer care nonexistent.

My induction cooktop was malfunctioning. We made a claim to have it repaired. Their tech came out and assessed the appliance. We later received an email for Choice Home Warranty stating they were not going to repair the cooktop. They offered us $250 for a replacement. Of course we declined their offer and asked them to repair it since they weren’t offering us fair market value and we couldn’t purchase a new one for $250. I then called our claim rep, Chardonie ** and told her that their offer was not fair since it wouldn’t cover the replacement cost. She then antagonistically asked what I thought the price should be. I informed her that I would have to do a Google search to give her this information.
After gathering the information, I gave her the price range from $1999 to $2400. She asked me what I wanted and I told her $2000. She immediately stated that they would pay it and put me on hold. She then came back and offered me $650. When I asked her why she offered me $250 initially, she said that’s what we routinely offer for any appliance. I asked to get the appliance repaired instead but she refused and stated that they would only give me $250 for the repair even though it cost $400 to replace it since I refused her offer.
I was appalled by their business practice and asked to speak with her supervisor. She refused to allow me to speak with anyone else. I told her that this was consumer fraud and that I wanted to file a complaint. Chardonie then stated that I was free to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and FTC but it wouldn’t matter if I did. She said I was free to take legal action and file complaints with consumer agency and she didn’t care what I did.

In the last couple months I have had two claims for my AC unit. My first one was because my upstairs unit wasn’t blowing cold air. It was able to be fixed however the unit is extremely old and needs to be replaced. The tech sent in information about the unit and even took pictures but I guess the claim was denied because I never heard back. The issue I had was not with the company that came out but more the process.
The day I was scheduled to have service the company never showed or called, then when I went to review the claim it had been given to another company to come out with a new day and time. I was not notified of this change. Then that company was a no call no show. I contacted Choice about this and they rescheduled with the same company for the next day. The guy finally did show the next day but it was way after the scheduled time. He was able to fix it and get it running but it had been almost 2 weeks at this point trying to get someone to come out and service the unit. And it was in the heat of the summer so my upstairs was registering 89 degrees.
This week my downstairs unit stopped working. The unit would not even run the fan. I submitted a claim and the guy that came to fix it could not narrow down what was really wrong. He named off a lot of things but was unable to get it working. He said whatever was wrong with it he probably would have to submit a claim to see if it was covered and that would take a day or so. I ended up calling the company that installed the unit come to find out. Turns out it was the control board. They replaced it and it’s working just fine now. This time there wasn’t a lot of rescheduling and back and forth but I did have to take an extra day off work because I had to schedule another appointment with the other company.
While it seems like a great assets to have a home warranty it’s been more of a hassle for me. I have a single household so getting off work to have something serviced and it not be fixed is very frustrating. Especially when you still have to pay the service call fee and nothing was fixed. To go back and forth about appointment times and no call no shows, techs showing up not being qualified to diagnosis the issue and having a claim denied for a replacement of unit because of coverage limitations is not worth my time when clearly I am paying monthly for this coverage. Maybe it is the service companies you have partnered with in my area but my experience had not been well and I will be canceling my account. It’s just not worth it.

I was offered $299.00 to replace a stovetop worth 1200.00. The claim before, a technician came to fix my upright freezer twice and he couldn't so I was offered $350.00 for a freezer worth $ 1150.00. I didn't accept the offer so they counteroffer $ 400.00 and I am still waiting for the check.

Our experience with home warranty claim #**, about our air condition it was not working, they sent a contractor to look at what's wrong with it and found out there is a leak. After that we call home warranty. They said your policy it doesn’t cover the leak. They start giving us excuses for not to pay to fix it. They said it's the homeowner responsibility. To all the people may read my review be careful for what you're paying for because when it comes the times need something to happen or need to fix they find a way or excuses not to have it fix or you will spend a lot of Money out of your pocket just to fix it. So why do we need a Choice home insurance for, if we still have to pay soo much out of our pocket. Why do we need them? They just take advantage of their customer. Be aware!

I want to begin my comments by saying that Choice Home Warranty has been responsive to my claims in the past. I have a multi-year contract with your company which covers three properties and 6 units. My most recent claim is for a malfunctioning less than 5 year old central air conditioning system cooling my apartment. On hot days the circuit breaker flips. I notified your company hoping to be assigned a technician. Choice was unable to come up with an individual. I was given the option to secure a licensed technician. I did. It was the individual who within the past 5 years installed the system. He is well known in this community and has a good reputation. He finally made contact with your adjuster.
Extensive conversation regarding the issue was had. My technician felt there was an understanding of the problem. The Choice adjuster did not feel it was your company's responsibility to support the claim. Your adjuster indicated, due to lack of maintenance, it was not coverable. I am disappointed, as I am meticulous about my property maintenance. I, religiously, have techs do annual maintenance for furnaces, water heaters and air conditioners. I received an extended written explanation of denial within 5 minutes of talking to my technician. I followed up with a phone call and spoke to another representative. It was suggested I take advantage of the appeal process. This is an issue, as I spent a $100 bill for a licensed technician to do a 2 hour evaluation of the problem. He shared findings with your representative and the claim was denied.
I am in the process of going through appeal. I am not happy that the Choice rep did not see the merits of a licensed professional's opinion. I am concerned with my present relationship with Choice warranty. Your company had an opportunity to send a representative to evaluate the problem. Unfortunately none of your contractors stepped forward. My contractor is highly reputable in this area. His opinion apparently was not valued and the claim denied. Presently, I am, unfortunately, very unhappy with the support I'm getting from Choice Warranty.

When Choice contacted the repair provider after a missed appointment on Monday the 24 September 2018 between 11:00 and 3:00, we settled for an appointment between 3:00 to 8:00 on Tuesday, 25 September 2018. The repair person arrived prior to 9:00 am without a call or identification and was less than cordial with my wife. She contacted me at work and asked if I could come home, which I did. The refrigerator is now cooling, but condensation still exists. Also, a part was cracked and needs to be ordered and replaced. I have heard nothing from the contractor, like getting an email receipt for the work done or if the part has been ordered and what the schedule replacement shall be.

I called Choice and Noel from Plumber ATL was dispatched. He came to my home and looked at the ceiling where the leak had caused a tile to fall as water soaked. He ran all the faucets, etc. and in the end told me he could not find anything and maybe it was a freak one time incident. I was charged $45. He told me if the leak occurs again to call and I would not be charged again.
The leak happened the next day. He came out again and looked at the ceiling and ran all the faucets and told me he can't find anything. Noel was a nice enough man, but really I can look at the ceiling too. He did nothing further to investigate where the leak might happen and kept telling me the warranty would probably not cover tearing up walls, etc. I called my own plumber and not only did he look at the ceiling, he looked and FOUND the leak. He proceeded to fix. Calling CHOICE was a waste of $45 and my time. I regret ever purchasing your insurance. American Home Warranty was better but your salesperson kept hounding me and I bought.

Choice was able to send a technician out the very next day and he was able to fix the ac. My biggest fear was the ac not working especially since I have dogs when it can still get warm during the afternoon.

You acted quickly, but contracted an unprofessional plumbing company with a plethora of negative reviews. The contractor's first visit was 24 hours before the scheduled appointment - and was upset that I didn't pick up his phone call at 7 p.m. He called me back 35 minutes later telling me that he called me back because I had not yet called him. The service call required a second visit. This second visit was even worse than the first. The plumbers left my bathroom extremely dirty (I have pictures) and said that they were not required to clean up. They also "fixed" one of the problems by having the tank fill up with too much water so I am being wasteful and spending unnecessary money on my water bill. After my experience I looked up reviews for the company that they sent - and all of them were negative with similar experiences. Clearly Choice is trying to find the lowest cost option without any concern about quality or professionalism.

Positive: 1. Easy to create work order. 2. Repair tech came for first repair visit within 48 hours of creating work order. Not fantastic, but certainly acceptable for this type of repair. 3. Repair tech competent. 4. Repair tech and company friendly, good customer service attitude. Negative: 1. No feedback/email from CHW on whether or not they authorized repair vs. replacement. Repair tech said waiting for parts, so I'm guessing repair was authorized. 2. When I check online status of repair order, it shows status as "closed". But repair is not completed yet. How can it be "closed" if the repair is not completed? 3. No notes online if repair/replacement authorized. 4. Online status showed problem as "mot hiring". What does that mean? The problem was the dryer was not heating up/not drying. What is "mot hiring"? Summary: I think it will all work out in the end. But communications from CHW is both incomplete and incorrect.

Air Conditioner wouldn't cool. Phoned in late Friday, had reply for Monday AM appointment within 3 hours. Serviceman here Monday before noon and had approval and installed new motor and capacitor. Do NOT fall into this company's trap of a worry free warranty company. The 3 years I used this company they weaseled their way out of covering the item(s). We called maybe 4 times in the 3 years we had them. Each time they would say it's NOT covered according to their contract. The technicians they send are the worst and most unreliable. This company was sued by the N.J. Consumer Affairs and lost for their fraudulent practices. Appears nothing has changed. The ONE star rating is not even adequate for them. STAY AWAY!

Garbage disposal was leaking water. Technician (Noel from Rantec Construction) was prompt, presentable, and friendly. Noel readjusted and tightened it and we did a few test runs to make sure the problem was corrected before he left.

While the price is cheap, so is the service. Our dryer broke a few months ago and someone came out to fix it. The Vendor charged us more than our service fee and it took 2 weeks for him to come back and fix it. The same dryer that they "fixed" broke again a month after. Choice Home Warranty sent a different vendor out to fix the issue. That Vendor charged us and then told us it wasn't his issue, we needed to call an electrician. The electrician came out, charged us and then told us it wasn't his issue, we need to call the Dryer vendor. The dryer vendor came out and told us he couldn't help us. The multiple times I have called Choice Home Warranty to discuss, they tell me there is nothing they can do to help us at this moment. Waste of Money!!! By the time I am done paying service fees, I could just buy a new dryer!

Perfection is the only word for Choice Warranty and the ease with which the service is provided. I just recommended CW to our son, who is unhappy with his present provider.

My street address was entered wrong, even after I called to correct it, it was done incorrectly again. Hopefully it has been corrected. The contract dates are also wrong. Supposed to begin 12/16/18 and go thru 2/15/2020.

They call and ask if they could come early, he ask what it was doing, then went outside checked out the unit, and in a short time came back told what was wrong. He had already called and got your approval to order the part and has since called back to schedule the part to be installed.

As homeowner we buy home warranty as protection and we pay for the service. I had multiple issues with this claim, let me start: The agent had booked a appointment for week late, I had call the customer service to make the request early but that should have taken place when they first booked. Secondly, I got a very good dishwasher but I was not paid accordingly for the replacement. I am very dissatisfied the entire service and would not recommend to a friend.

I placed a claim stating that I had a gas leak coming from the back of my stove. The gas company for my area had to shut off the gas to secure the leak. I had to wait one week before CHOICE got a technician to come to my home. The tech was from Todd's Electronics. I reiterated to him the problem when he arrived. He said he didn't smell gas fumes so it probably wasn't serious. I explained again that the gas was turn off to the house and the gas company said I needed to have the hose replaced. He checked the stove and said I have a loose fitting. He put some tape on the fitting and tightened it up and I was good to go.
I asked again about the hose replacement, he said he didn't do that because that would has to be done by a gas line person. He was courteous and all but he didn't take gas readings before he left to be sure there was no gas leak. He collected my money and left. When I woke this morning and went downstairs it is filled with distinct gas fumes. Now I have to call the gas company again to have gas shut off and have someone else come to repair the gas line. I WANT MY STOVE FIXED. AND I WANT MY MONEY BACK. I AM NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER!!!

My motion sensor floodlights were not working and when I would go outside after dark, I could not see anything. The electricians came out and fixed the problem in no time. Kudos to them. I would use this electrician any time in the future if the need arises. They were kind and efficient and had my lights up and working in no time. Their service was fantastic.

First the appointment was made without even confirming with me that the date/time was good. I simply got a voicemail stating when the appointment would be. I would think you would want to confirm the date with the customer. Second, the claim is closed and the issue is not resolved. I don't ever feel a claim should be closed until the issue is fixed. If the issue is not fixed and it requires another vendor to fix, why aren't you referring it to an electrician? Why would I have to open a new claim for the same issue that wasn't resolved?

Our dishwasher went out so we called the tech... After he determined that it was the circuit board he said that Choice would be reaching out to me to handle the claim for a new dishwasher. Choice then sent me a low ball email offering me $250 for my $800 dishwasher. Choice will look for any way to get out of covering your appliances. We had our garage door stop working a month ago so we called someone out... Long story short: they wouldn’t replace the $100 fuse unless I put new ball bearing wheels on the door. I spent $340. Choice covered the $100 fuse... They should be replacing your systems with the same quality and brand instead of low balling you to save some $$. As soon as I get my low ball check in the mail, I will be canceling my service and switching providers.

I've been disabled since I was 41 when an accident caused my L5-S1 vertebra to snap nearly in half and trisected my disc causing a series of fusion surgeries that left me unable to do much of anything around my own house. So I'm wondering how I'm going to keep my house in order and my wife of 37 years safe... and then I got an email from the pleasant folks at Choice Home Warranty!!
I am SO happy that there are companies still out there that believe in compassion and integrity. They don't talk "at you", rather, they speak to you like you were family. The salesmen whom I spoke with today was someone who should train ALL OF THEIR NEW SALESPEOPLE! He treated me with respect and was clear and knew his onions when it came to his job. I can't think of his name but I get the impression that he treats EVERY customer like it's his first customer of the day, and that's damn sure the way Professional sales people should do their job as that's the way you get to the top! We called Choice Home Warranty on Friday morning about 11. They said a technician would be out in 4-6 hours to diagnose the problem. We talked to them 2 more times before 5. By this time it was over 6 hours. About 5:10 they called and said we could call our own technician to come out but, this late in the day on Friday we could not get ahold of anyone. Late afternoon on Sunday, the hot water heater blew, flooding half the basement and we had to turn the water off to the house and had to stay in a hotel. We were able to get a plumber here at 8 on Monday morning. We had no choice but to have a new water heater installed. We called Choice Home Warranty and they denied our claim stating we should have had a technician call them with a diagnosis.

Choice refused to pay for my water heater when it began leaking even though it says it is covered in my contract. Any time I report a problem, I spend 10-15 min waiting on the phone. Even though Choice advertises 24 hr service, they are not available for existing claims from Fri nights after 5PM until Mon AM.

It was my second time using the service. Both times the customer service representatives were very professional and understood the kind of inconvenience a broken appliance can cause in a house especially with small children. They immediately submitted my claim to a local contractor. The contractor needed to order a part and gave me a fair return date. They in fact resolved the issue within 2 business days without causing any major inconvenience. My wife and I were very satisfied. I would definitely recommend Choice Home Warranty to any home owner. Great company. I really hope they keep it this way.
