I had no trouble getting in touch with CHOICE to file a claim, which I really appreciated. Wasn't that easy with my old warranty company. The young couple that came to fix my AC Unit, were really good, kind and through. I would have them come anytime. Thank you very much.

The technician was prompt and efficient. He thoroughly explained the source of my problem and quickly eased any fears I may have had. This was not the first time this company (Harris Plumbing and Drain Care) came to my home and I would HIGHLY recommend them. CHW is one of the BEST decisions I could have made when purchasing a home warranty protection plan.

The technician was great. The issue is not resolved because he had to call Choice for a cost authorization, which should have been 20 minutes, but wasn't. He left so I have to make another service appointment for next week (7/22). Choice didn't provide that work cost authorization until 3 hours later.

I own a home and being disabled, I needed peace of mind knowing that there was a single number I could call for any necessary repairs. The idea was appealing as it would help offset potential unexpected costs.
While it's been years since I initially chose Choice, what sticks is the procedure for submitting a claim. The process usually involves contacting their service center or logging a request online. They then arrange for a contractor to evaluate the issue. If repair is necessary, the contractor gets approvals from Choice before proceeding. I've always had to pay a $75 service fee to the contractor directly.
Generally, the contractors sent by Choice have handled my issues well. However, my most recent experience with a leaking Whirlpool dishwasher left much to be desired. The contractor they arranged attempted a repair with an incorrect seal, which only led to further complications. Choice decided it wasn't fixable and offered a $272 Lowe's credit for replacement, despite the cheapest dishwasher at Lowe's being $399, excluding installation and haul away. Conversations with Choice were frustrating and gave contradictory information about whether depreciation was considered.
Despite these troubles, my advice to potential Choice Home Warranty customers would be to shop around and clarify how they handle depreciations. Using your own contractor, which Choice allows, can sometimes backfire if that contractor hesitates to work with warranty companies due to payment issues.
Overall, given these experiences, I'm unlikely to renew my contract with Choice Home Warranty. The process was too slow at times, and I often found the service lacks the kind of replacement guarantees I expected.

Hands down, Leigh from Gizmos Appliance repair is the best service tech I've ever dealt with. We were lucky enough to get him when our washer broke so I requested him when our dryer broke and he continues to impress. Arrived early and came with parts in hand to make it a one-call fix. Couldn't be happier.

I went with Choice Home Warranty because our daughter lived in a different location from us, and we wanted to ensure she had help with home repairs without our direct involvement. Along the way, a salesperson convinced me to extend the coverage to our house and another daughter's home too. I've been with Choice Home Warranty for several years. My current plan, lasting until 2026, followed a previous one which was about two years long.
Initially, I preferred calling to submit claims, but now it's all online. As someone who isn't very comfortable with technology, that's been challenging. However, I've adapted because that's the process Choice Warranty requires.
The quality of contractors has generally been good. My main issue is the waiting time to get someone to come out. It’s understandable, considering how busy all companies are. For example, when our microwave needed attention, we ended up purchasing a countertop replacement as a temporary solution since the built-in above the range couldn't be freely replaced by them. The most recent claim I dealt with was indeed the microwave. When it stopped working, it took a while for a repairperson to come from a town 40 miles away. Though unusual given our town’s size, the technician was kind and informed us that instead of repairing, we'd receive a $191 gift card for Lowe's to get a replacement.
However, the arrangement didn’t cover installation, and that didn't seem fair to me. In terms of my experience with Choice, I’d rate it a 4 out of 5.

I'm pleased with the service facility for adjusting their schedule to accommodate me. Still waiting for feedback from Choice to approve what and when the repairs would be done. The service company worked faster than Choice. They’re usually much faster in getting back with their clients. Hopefully I will hear from them today so we can get the ball rolling into one direction or another. Thanks so much for the questionnaire service. The more feedback the better so the company understands what's happening with their clients moving forward.

Anthony ** was most helpful in answering my questions. Liked the coverage from Choice. Choice Home Warranty offers a total plan with good coverage for the home. This is very important for retired people on fixed income. Hopefully I will not have to use Choice Home Warranty but I like the thought of having someone I can depend on that they will be there when I have a problem. I found Choice Home Warranty online and over the past two years since I got them, my experiences have been mostly neutral, as I haven't required significant assistance from them often. I've filed a couple of claims, yet none required substantial funds from the warranty company. In the instance involving an AC unit, the issue was resolved under their basic service fee fund, with no extra expenses from their side.
Although I am not particularly tech-savvy and haven't utilized their online services for claim filing, I’m pleased with their fundamental services. I'd rate their services at around 4 out of 5 based on the satisfaction I've found with their customer service and the value for their service costs. Overall, Choice Home Warranty seems to provide adequate service that aligns with its promises.

My sister in Florida had Choice Home Warranty and recommended them to me. Having been with Choice for about a year and a half, I've had no significant issues with their customer service. Every time a technician was sent out, the service was generally proficient.
One thing I wasn't too fond of was that the price increased by about $10 without prior notification. It was unexpected and something I gotta call about. Nonetheless, the service has overall been satisfactory, and I haven't encountered other problems.

I've had Choice Home Warranty for about six years now, and they charge a lot. I currently hold two accounts with them. I paid one policy in advance about three years, and I pay $58 a month for the other one, which is a lot. When I first took on the warranty, there was a promise that, as a senior citizen, I'd be charged $45 for life. However, that amount has increased to $85 for one policy and $65 for the other, which feels unfair compared to original expectations. In a past interaction, I was told that nobody was coming to my house for $45. That was a couple of years ago.
I recently had to replace a garage door at my rental property and the cost was significantly higher than anticipated as well, but I felt I had no better options.
Despite the cost concerns, I've never had issues with the technicians. I like them all. They're always knowledgeable and patient with my numerous questions, providing satisfying answers. I’ve decided to continue with Choice Home Warranty, thinking it's better than not having any coverage at all. Overall, while they're not perfect, I still rely on their services.

The technician was fantastic, but it took a long time to get him. The work was performed very quickly and efficiently. The technician was here on time as promised. We have cool air now in my home. I will contact the company directly to perform the routine maintenance for the portion of my claim that was denied.

My AC went out and I was assigned Julio with Stone Cold Systems. He came out and was quick to diagnose my issues, recommend the needed parts, coordinate approvals from my warranty company, make the repairs and get it all done in less than 2 hours. He was friendly, knowledgeable and had great customer service. I highly recommend him and his company for future AC service needs.

Most affordable Home Warranty company. I love the fact that you can purchase multiple years of coverage. When you file a claim they get back to you within 24 hours. They have a very reasonable service fee compared to another company that I perviously used. I would highly recommend Choice Home Warranty to my friends and family. If you have any issues or problems filing a claim online you can contact them and get the claim filed.

Technician found the problem of why the dryer wouldn't turn off, a stuck relay, and tapped it, causing the dryer to resume normal use. He ordered a new control board and will install it later! The technician was very polite and courteous and knowledgeable in the workings of the dryer.

Very satisfied with the Professional Plumber who serviced the call. However, very disappointed with “Choice Home Warranty” who denied my Claim based on the Kitchen Drain Blockage not falling within “Normal Wear & Tear”. WOW, the Drain was Blocked and needed clearing. Now, I’m out the $100 Deductible and still have to arrange for a Plumber to unblock the Drain line. #BuyerBeware

Faucets will not turn off water going into washing machine. Installer for new Washing machine says the faucets are frozen and may need replacing. Need to close them to put in new washer. We decided to buy new washer instead of having the old one repaired. I am surprised you can not get a plumber to our house before Monday!

The ac technician was very knowledgeable and explained everything he saw was wrong with our unit. He also told us about his report to CHW and that the problem was not covered by our warranty. We approved the work he recommended and he completed the maintenance. AC is running great.

They are unprofessional and illogical, one of my water pipes in the basement was worn out and corroded and water pressure snapped it and it damaged the other side of the pipe as well. It caused a big leak in the basement. I called them for the repair they came up with the conclusion we don't cover this because it is a physical damage, and we only cover normal wear and tear. So, I called them again to re consider the claim because corrosion is a normal wear yet the lady at first told me the same story again they don't want to cover it because it is physical damage not normal wear and tear and also added, we don't cover well. Then I replied it is not well it is the pipe, and it is part of plumbing, but she rejected anyway.
I also asked her where in the policy that corrosion is not normal wear and tear. She replied, "Where does it says it is so," basically they can decide at any time whether to pay you or reject you for any type of repair. Now I will share the photo of the pipe that failed. You guys be the judge whether it is the well, plumbing or normal wear and tear. So good luck with them for your claims.

The technician today took care of my claim for toilet leaking. The technician advised that the screw that fell out from the tank was causing the leak. Technician fixed the tank, which was crooked also. Looks great. No more leak. I also mentioned to the technician that the sink in that area needed a sink stopper to pass my selling inspection. Well they went ahead and placed the sink with stopper. I'm very appreciative of their work and expertise. Thank you Choice Warranty. And yes I would refer this company to my friends.

Absolute worst from start to finish. They deny valid claims stating "preexisting condition." When they actually decide to pay a claim, it is far less than market value and does not cover the actual appliance/system. They provide ABSOLUTELY NO LATITUDE with plumbing emergencies requiring immediate repair. Customer service seems to have as a goal to explain why claims are denied as opposed to actually helping paying human beings.

Plumber they sent was excellent but when I made the phone call for the complaint, it is a foreign answering service. Several times I told them that I had a problem with the upstairs and lower level bathtubs. This delayed us over an hour once he came to the house. They stated they only had one down. They called me not quickly when it was reported, but it took quite a while. This is the first time I’ve used them since I’ve had them for at least 10 years.

I’m giving this company two stars based solely on the price, but unfortunately, their customer service, replacement policy, and communication have been extremely disappointing. After filing a claim for our refrigerator, we were forced to find our own technician, as the company provided no support. Once the repair was deemed unfeasible and a replacement was approved, we were offered a very low reimbursement amount. I submitted an appeal and had to wait a full day to be assigned a case manager, followed by another day for a scheduled phone call.
During our conversation, the case manager acknowledged that our refrigerator was worth more and said we would be eligible for a higher reimbursement. However, nothing progressed until the following Monday due to the weekend. On Monday, I was informed that it would take 25 days to receive the funds—25 days without a refrigerator, not counting the additional week it took to receive the initial decision. Overall, this process has been frustrating, slow, and poorly managed. I would not recommend this company to others based on my experience.

My plumbing leak was repaired in a timely manner. He also explained why it was possibly happening. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. He also explained what I could do about the drain flies that I was currently experiencing since I had been out of town for a long time. He explained everything he was doing every step of the way so I knew exactly what was happening during the repair.

Submitted a request to have my ice maker repaired. It was determined by the repairman that the unit needed to be replaced. Choice warranty said it was under warranty by Samsung. Samsung said it is not under warranty. I have a $3000 refrigerator that won't produce ice. I have been a faithful customer of Choice warranty for over six years and now I can't depend on you to honor our agreement. Not happy. ;(.

Call experience with their sales team, pleasant and professional as you would imagine. Actual results with using some of their vendors/partners (no, not all) they assign, have been surprisingly poor. My understanding is the bulk of my own personal experience and the purpose behind my review is who the warranty company (CHW) is sending to your home. Again, not always, but usually the vendor experience for me, is not one where I'm happy I signed up. And there isn't much ownership to rectify the issue when trying to voice your concern to CHW. CHW business model makes sense, but for me as a customer, the end results have been most often disappointing.

The tech from Cool Water was fabulous - found the problem and took care of it in less than a week. I paid $85 for the diagnosis and Choice took care of the new motor. Would have liked to include another appliance on this claim and was disappointed that I couldn't.

I reviewed many plans online and this looked like the best. I recently had an AC problem and a refrigerator problem, which cost me well over $1000. I spoke to Tracy **. She couldn't have been nicer. She explained everything to me and assured me that if I had a problem, I could contact her. Your company got so many positive reviews online, as well as from AARP, and Consumer Reports.

The techs recently came out to work on my dryer and washer. While they fixed the dryer, the washing machine was unfortunately not repairable. Choice Home Warranty demonstrated their commitment by providing me with a gift card to a Lowe's department store, which was a decent resolution.
The overall claim process with Choice was smooth, and I appreciate how promptly they sent someone out to address my issues. I've been with Choice for about nine months, and I'm satisfied with their service so far.

Be careful as they will deny a claim even if the appliance is covered. Also, you may need to not only get the item fixed but also pay to get your own technician to diagnose the problem. In my case it was the central air conditioner and I ended up paying $75 for the Choice technician to tell the central air is not working and then Choice denied the claim.

I called in to have my service plan transferred to new residence. The customer service representative was rude, over talked me, did not have appropriate listening skills and begin to insult me with demeaning comments. I asked to be transferred to another representative and he rudely transferred the call. The second representative defended the previous representative attitude, however he did take care of the issue. I gave a one star rating reflecting the behavior and not the company in general.

I have had an awful experience with Choice Home Warranty. You can not speak to an actual person. You can only leave a telephone number. No one will call you back. I left my phone number multiple times over the course of several days. I had to go ahead and get the problem fixed, and they do not want to reimburse me. I filled out a call for new service, and a person called me immediately. They scheduled an appointment call with an agent. The agent was late calling me, rude on the phone, and said you will not get reimbursed because you should not have fixed the problem. I had to email the representative to remind them of the appointment.
The representative did not ask about the problem with the home or the problems it caused because it was not fixed. The representative did not ask for the contact information of the repair company or how my family life was inconvenienced while the problem was not fix. The call last a few minutes with the representative telling me that I was not getting reimbursed. This is my first experience with Choice Home Warranty. I felt frustrated and degraded as a person at the way I was spoke to and the level of service I received.

My wife called in a claim around 9:00 am for our a/c unit; we had an appointment set for between 11:00 am - 2:00 pm. Our a/c was fixed and blowing cold again by 1:30 pm. Great Experience. Choice Home Warranty always makes our claims easy, and they are processed very efficiently.

I called Choice home warranty when my AC failed. I had an email within 24 with my ac repair contractor technician set up. The contractor came the following day. My condenser needed to be replaced which was approved under the warranty. Unfortunately the air handler and condenser needed to match so I have to pay for air handler and extra parts and labor… This definitely seems fair to me. All responses along the way have been very quick by both Choice home and Technicolor which is very important to me. I believe all parts have been ordered and I’m on the way to having a working AC again.

It takes entirely too long to be serviced. Took over a week for my electrical work and still no one has came for my refrigerator going on 2 weeks now. And also offering for people to pay out of pocket and if it's not approved we won't get our money back for what we paid for when we paying it to this every month. Make that make sense. It's not adding up for me. Why does it take so long to be serviced. We have people out here for everything.

I have had a Choice Warranty on my Condo for years. I recently added my house and a rental property. My experience with Choice has been excellent. I have used Choice for air conditioning and garbage disposal service. Each has been outstanding. Well qualified technicians and quality, courteous service. I don't know why I haven't added my other properties previously. The process to request service is simple and the response time is rapid. I highly recommend Choice to anyone interested in home warranty protection.

I received an e-mail today with an appointment schedule for tomorrow anywhere between 8am and 5pm. That's quite a large window. I'm wondering why nobody called me to schedule the appointment since I do work full-time. It would be best if someone would call to make sure I'm home that day (all day). At least someone will be here to let them in while I'm not home.

He checked on a replacement part, but they notified him that a part was not available due to the age of the appliance. I’ve had a great experience with customer service. They are prompt and helpful, the services covered are good and helpful to a homeowner to cover things that come up. Vendors sent have been mostly good with the exception of one who took months to finish repair. For this instance I did not contact them until it was untenable and they were quick to reach out to the vendor and get him on track.

Hi, We called about a leak in the system. Choice was quick to set up w a company to come out. Hugo is good guy!!!! Helpful, respectful person who seems to know what he is doing. Cheked out air conditioning and or the heater unit, checked for the leak, and apparently fixed the issue. Pleasant to see that there are few techs who have good personal positive attitudes. We are somewhat concerned about the possible damage to our ceilings. Not sure.

My garage door spring has been broken since Thursday7/10. Choice home warranty was sending out a tech from Garage R Us on Monday. That appointment was canceled and rescheduled for Wednesday 7/16 at 3 to 7 pm. The tech showed up at 6:45 in a car. With no spraying or tools. What a joke. Save your money.

I received a phone call after purchasing a policy online. The sales associate was very helpful in confirming what I had purchased along with giving me information on other incentives which lowered my purchase price. I couldn't be more happy. I have had an appliance service plan through Consumers Power for 10 years at $59.99 per mt. I have had a good experience with them. I bought this warranty plan because its was 43.95 and covered replacements if appliance could not be repaired. This plan does have a service fee the other one didn’t. Not real happy about that however I believe this will be a better plan as some of my appliances are getting older.

I had a toilet that would no longer flush and when the seal was replaced it leaked. Dependable Plumbing came in and immediately fix the problem. I would be more than happy to call on them again. This warranty company has been the worst of any insurance company I have ever experienced. I had a/c problem and contacted them July 3. They contacted an outside company to fix. The company was a sewer and drain repair. A tech came on a Tuesday. They did no analysis just felt a pipe… Asked to see my sewer line and water line.. I found out was not at all anything to do with my central air. He said I needed Freon and would be back. I got a message via an email he would be back the 11. I did not hear from the company regarding time so I called they said no he would not be there Friday maybe Saturday or Monday. I messaged the company called the company and thru my claims tried to get information… The warranty company just kept telling me the Young's sewer and water line company was working on a schedule.
I could not get a hold of them… They do not answer their phones nor emails. Choice just keeps sending me messages thru the portal or if I ask to speak with someone that they are making a schedule. I asked to speak with a supervisor to escalate the situation. They said there is nothing they can do. I have my granddaughter here while my daughter is having her 2nd. She has been in hot room for 2 nights. Finally this am July 16 I called a different company. They came out with testing equipment did thorough analysis filled my Freon. I have cold air finally. I will be fighting for all my money back from choice and would NEVER recommend to anyone.

The technician was able to get the issue solved with back up in a drain line. Not an easy task but it was done as quickly as possible. I would recommend him again for plumbing issues. My only issue was with no call back after I had put the claim in, so I had to place a call to your customer service in order to get an answer!

The dishwasher wasn't draining. Jorge came and unstopped the hose and said we may need a new pump if it continues not to drain. He'd have to order the part. We used it and it drained but wouldn't turn off and was making a noise. He's coming back tomorrow to install the new part.

I recently had my broken air conditioning unit serviced, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. The technician who came out was professional, courteous, and on time, which I really appreciated. From the moment he arrived, he had a positive attitude and a friendly demeanor that made the whole process smooth and stress-free.

I recently switched to Choice from another company. Having an older home there are things that are needing repair and that is why I wanted a home warranty company. They constantly denied repairs then told me to pay out of pocket and they would reimburse me up a certain amount. I switched to Choice and the service calls have been easy and quick.

Technician called and said he will be at 12:30. Without any further communication, he showed up at 6 pm, not acceptable. He determined cooling are leaking, needed to be replaced. CHW denied claim with totally standard, ridiculous explanation. I appealed, waiting 3 days for case manager to contact me... Meantime 5 days in mid-summer without AC, GREAT SERVICE!!!

Contacted Choice Home Warranty about our LG fridge/freezer was not making ice. The technician arrived and diagnosed the problem as the compressor failed, he went to get the required part and was back within two hours. Every time we tried to have Choice cover the cost of fixing problems, we were told that each problem was not "covered" and informed that we should read the policy. We had read the policy and, in fact, had it sitting in front of us. What we found in the policy was that they were covered and yet, payment was still denied.

Can NEVER get a customer service agent to discuss my claim or policy. The sales team wants nothing to do with the customer once they sign you up. The plumber was great and fixed the issue. My only issue is that I had to wait more than 24 hours until he would arrive - from 10:30 am Thursday when I submitted the request until he arrived on Friday at around 3:00 pm. It was difficult having no sinks to use and the dirty water in the sink was disgusting. This was my first claim since I’m a new client.

Light blew out on microwave. We replaced the bulb and it would not shut off and we could not select the brightness. Technician came within a week and identified the problem was a defective board. He ordered board and replaced it a few days later. Works perfectly! Nice guy, great service!

After I open a case, within 24 hours, a company was assigned. When an approval is required, Home Choice made a decision in a short time. Then Home Choice works with the contractor and provides a detail on what is covered and what is not. All of this happened in a short time. Technician was great, personable, professional, but unable to fix the issue with the dryer because it was a cleaning issue not a mechanical issue. So we spent $85 to have a guy come out and tell us that the dryer vent needs to be cleaned not sure why he couldn’t do it but he couldn’t do it.

My AC went out Aug 2024. After 3 AC techs coming out July 12th the 3rd tech sent his bid to repair my AC. Bid denied, still no AC. I am disabled on SS, and an elderly person 68 lives here. The heat index has been up to 107 and 108 on some days. This company has allowed tech #2 to lie twice attempting to scam me out of first $2400.00 out of pocket saying my AC needed electrical work, then lie a 2nd time saying I needed a new compressor and that is $549.00 out of pocket for me. Choice Home Warranty knows they just paid for me a new compressor that the 1st tech took months to install. Dec. 2024.
I have filed a BBB report, now I have contacted the Alabama AG, Senator Tuberville, and Congressman Aderholt to attempt to get help dealing with this fraud company. They called tech #3 4 times to now deny my repair and leave me in the heat even longer. They refuse to pay to have the refrigerant put in. Tech #3 verified it is a broken weld. Tech #2 did that let the refrigerant leak out. He also tested my compressor and it is good. Two lies, two fraudulent charges Tech #2 tried to scam me.
I looked at these reviews 9.6 is not true for this company. By putting up these fake numbers I purchased a 3 year warranty with this company. In the mean time a garage spring broke. They sent out a company. In the final I paid $85.00 copay and its is $604.00 out of pocket for me to get my garage door working. I called a local company. Both springs replaced materials and labor $371.00. It is absolutely disgusting it cost me hundreds more to get my garage working if I use my home warranty plan that I paid a lot of money to have. The garage door company did the same thing. Elevate charges to scam CHW customers out of hundreds of dollars by using their services. Is CHW getting a kickback on the scams???
They pay $40.00 for a garage spring repair. How can any legitimate company come out for that amount of money and do any repair. They have agreed to pay $140.00 and I can order the parts and a disabled RN and an elderly person can attempt to do a self installation for our garage door springs. CHW should lose their licensee in Alabama. They take our money and give warranties they have absolutely no intension of taking care of any homeowner!
The Garage tech they sent out said he tested my door balance. I have 2 springs. With one broken it is absolutely impossible to test door balance. He didn't weigh my door or measure my springs. But he sure took my $85.00. Then they put on a bogus $229.00 door balancing fee. I know you may remove this review but I am sick of the heat. We are here. We don't go to an air condition office or have reprieve. Why after all this time and they deny me getting my AC repaired!!!! They deserve to be closed down!

My ac stopped working. On Wednesday I put in a request. (The inside of my home is 90.) They scheduled a technician to come out on Friday. (Wasn’t Thursday but could be worse.) On Friday I called; it was scheduled for the following Friday an entire week later. The ac technician worked me in thankfully case he felt sorry for me and for how hot it was. Pro choice then said that the entire ac unit condenser and air handler needed replaced BUT they DO NOT give the air handler part of the ac unit… So when they say they cover the ac unit. That’s very misleading so that was going to be $1195… Plus $1095 to install the unit… Far from $75.
Also, I declined because they wanted me to pay the $1195 which I wasn’t approving. I had another way of getting that part fixed and installed. So since I only wanted to decline part of it and wouldn’t approve the claim as they had it stated he went to a case manager who was supposed to contact me by the next day…. Monday rolls around and still no contact. So I go in and Anika from them in my junk folder sit a link (which DOES NOT WOrK) to set up an appointment. I emailed and let them know it did not work. I called… I’ve now called probably over 7 times which you can only give a call back numerous times; emailed over 3 times, used the text thing (where it says it’ll be 6 minutes before contacting). I waited around all day for this call since I though I might’ve missed them the day before. But I’m clear to text because I don’t get voicemails or email me back with a detail of what’s going on.
I spoke with customer service and she said she could schedule me to just TALK to the case manager on JULY 23!! (An entire week) to just talk… This isn’t even with letting me know the part has been ordered just to TALK to someone concerning it. No compensation to put me up in. A hotel or provide a portable ac unit while the kids the dog and I are literally sweating to death. I was tired of the runaround and said that was unacceptable. And she said she’d expedite it to a different case manager… To have them call. I asked when that would be so I knew when to make sure I was around my phone… She said 2 hours; I literally waited 2 hours!!!! NOTHING not even an email. That was over 5 hours ago and still nothing!
This is my first real Interaction with them with an issue and they just avoid you. You try to get help and they give you someone who clearly has too much of client base and they can’t adequately accommodate all of them. If you have any questions before accepting or denying their request they just say press the button and you’ll work with a case manager. I appreciate they want to replace the condenser. I do appreciate that but they are not good at communicating anything. If it wasn't for the guy I wouldn’t have even known what the solution was and what it meant. If they'd offer compensation or reimbursement for hotel while they kept putting me off that'd be one thing. But they don’t care. Be aware if this was poop all over the place cause of a plumbing issue and you had wait 2 weeks can you imagine? Rethink this company.

Had Choice for about a few years now. Once we had an issue with our AC, they sent multiple technicians over, each saying that the unit needed a complete replacement due to a condenser leak, and that choice would not do anything that isn't "wear and tear." Had a conversation with the case managers, who were not helpful at all. Then, we hired private contractors, who all said that the AC does NOT need a replacement, and that the condenser was not leaking at all. They also reported that it was normal wear and tear. After uploading these expert opinions, the Choice case manager, Erick, repeated that it was not normal wear and tear, and used a car analogy even though he is not a licensed technician himself. Extremely dissatisfied, and would not recommend to anyone.

Our repairman kept saying that he couldn't perform simple removal tasks and changing hose tasks because they were not "part of the contract" when they really seemed like simple tasks that he just did not want to do. How is an 80-year old woman like my mom supposed to change a dishwasher hose or move the dishwasher out of its location? This is why I have the warranty to begin with. Very frustrating.

I submitted my first claim when my washer went out and I received no response for over a week. When I finally contacted them, they said they couldn’t find any repair companies in my area and I would have to find one myself and request reimbursement later. Then I had a pipe leading off my pool pump break and empty my pool. I filed a claim and they sent out a tech, who was great, but they promptly denied the claim because the pipe was underground. This caused me to have to pay out of pocket due to urgency of the repair. I filed an appeal and they denied my claim again saying even though the broken pipe was not underground, they said it was not covered because it was connected to an underground pipe. Isn’t all pool piping connected to an underground pipe at some point??? This company simply looks for reasons to deny claims and has terrible customer service. I will be finding a more reliable home warranty company from here on out.

I highly recommend Cathedral City Air conditioning and heating. They picked up our claim instantly after the first company cancelled on us 5 min to 5pm on a Friday with no air conditioning in our home for over 24 hours. Cathedral came out Saturday by 11 am diagnosed and fixed the issue with ease.

I was impressed with the experience and professionalism of the technician assigned. Upon diligent review, he assessed for the full unit replacement recommendation due to the nature of the failure of a Washing Machine. Concurrently, I don't understand how the Home Warranty CLAIM check stipend determination for replacing this unit (which was supposed to take 2 to 3 weeks to arrive and hasn't arrived on time)... Has a recent update to relate that delivery of funds is now extended and reset to be received within the next 30 days from the end of the former 3-week timeline. Moreover, that I only learned of this by making a call this week to learn of the modified status. In my experience, only when a company elects to empower their workforce with the attainment of Total Customer Satisfaction, would they have thought to express the funds that were delayed beyond prior commitments which were both written and espoused. Finally tried the operator, opened claim, took two weeks to get someone out, told tech my problem, they had to get authorization first then they were only able to recharge unit, not find the leak and fix it right so unit will work till it leaks off again. The Electrical person was great! Professional and friendly. But was not happy that I was sent an appointment, but when I called the company, they did not have me on the books. Thank goodness, when I called them, he was already on his way to my part of town. If I wouldn’t have called, he probably would not have been able to see me that day. I had to cancel an appointment for this appointment. So would have been very upset. So, appointments shouldn’t be set by CW if they haven’t talked to the company. But in the end, it was taken care of.

It has been a week since the technician came to assess my AC. The technician was excellent and courteous. The issue is Choice warranty; they have not reached out to me anyway to give me an update. I find if the repair is certain size, Choice Warranty is very slow to respond. I have recommended this company over the years to many people, but I’m getting concerned about this company. Claim was submitted July 3rd and service call was then scheduled for the 8th. The AC service company changed the service date to the 9th. On the 9th, 2 people came out and replaced the capacitor, but this did not solve the problem. They told me someone would come out the next day, on the 10th to finish the repair. On the 10th, I received notice that the service would be changed to the 11th and on the 11th, I received a notice that the service would be changed to the 12th. Delay after delay. This was too much for me, so I called another company at my expense and they came out the same day, Friday 11th at 1 pm and had our AC unit back on in 3 hours. Yes, it cost me $1150, but as least I had AC after being out for over 8 days. Very disappointed with Choice Home Warranty on this repair claim. You need to find a better A/C service company.

Very disappointed. Made a successful repair but then the dryer would not heat. Contacted the technician. Did not receive confirmation of any appointment for follow-up. Contacted him and he told me he had been communicating with me all day. He had not. Eventually came back, addressed the issue, made me feel as if it was our fault. Now we have something hanging from the dryer. Terrible service and will not be renewing our contract with Choice.

My Whirlpool range is 23 years, a faulty alarm and light came on. Was informed part was unavailable. Choice said couldn't be repaired, and offered me an e-credit to Lowe's. I accepted their offer in the amount of $389 and was told I will receive the Lowe's e-credit. I am awaiting same. I think they implied it might take 26 days. I hope it is sooner.

A Toilet system had sustained water running after being flushed. The service was promptly repaired by the service provider. Appropriate query was made as to whether similar concerns might be at risk for the other 2 bathrooms in the home. We had no such concerns at that time - but welcomed his appropriate concern since our home is 30+ years old. Provider was very helpful and professional.

Our primary A/C quit working during a very hot period. We decided to use the option of scheduling our own service person (which is allowed). However, once here and having a diagnosis, we had the service provider proceed. We later submitted a claim for the repair knowing that some of may exceed CHW limits which we would pay on our own. Well, it seems there is a requirement to contact CHW for approval before getting our own service person and we did not do that. When do we have to get approval - before the trip charge, after the diagnosis or other?
Anyway, the entire claim was denied on this technicality. In a normal world CHW would have paid their normal trip charge, their normal diagnostic charge, their normal part and installation charge and the repair confirmation charge. Our person also cleaned the exterior unit which likely would not have been covered anyway. So CHW normal rates would have approved over 50% of our invoice but due to the technicality, it was denied outright. And we pay $2400+ per 5 years for this treatment!!!!

I called in about my dishwasher not working. I did get a service rep and we made an appointment. The trouble is the appointment is 10 days away. It seems awful long for somebody to have to wait to get a dishwasher looked at and repaired. That must be a quicker way to get a dishwasher fixed and waiting 10 days. I still have to wait eight days. Please save your money and pay for repairs out of pocket once and not twice or three times by paying choice home warranty and then having to pay a $60-80 service call and then finding out you will have to pay for repair out of pocket - because the repair that needs to be done is not covered by the warranty. I had an issue with a plumbing problem. A plumber was sent and said that a valve was malfunctioning and needed to be replaced before it burst and flood my house. Choice said no because nothing needed to be changed until it breaks. Why ask a technician that they send and then don't honor the contract. The only reason I give them a two stars is because of the person in customer service that assisted me. I may be changing companies.

Tim with Emergency Appliance Repair was on-time, courteous and efficient. He explained what was wrong with our refrigerator and it appears that the faulty thermostat that he replaced was the cause of the icing conditions being experience. He offered to return if the icing conditions recurred. If I have future appliance claims, I plan to request that this technician be sent.

Had an issue with our refrigerator/freezer, claim was easily submitted, appointment was scheduled for technician who showed up on time. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. A replacement part (electronic board) was ordered and arrived at the house on a Sunday and within three days. Will now just have to contact the technician via his cell phone and he advised that he will immediately install the new part.

I submitted my claim for a broken garbage disposal and within 1 day I had been scheduled for a technician to come out. The technician showed up bright and early and did what was needed. Turns out I needed to have the disposal replaced. No hassle! Everything just flowed the way I hoped. I am very satisfied and will use the service whenever necessary.

My experience with a recent electrical issue was very positive but not so with plumbing. After two visits by the plumber the problem persists. I was told yesterday that the plumber essentially did not have the capacity to fix the problem - the tool brought to do so was a basic plunger - that this would be reported to Choice for their approval of the level of service needed, and that I should expect feedback in an hour or two. I’m still waiting more than 30 hours later and faced with having to do another cleanup in my basement bathroom. I’m disappointed to say the least.

Technician very responsive and arranged to expedite my appointment once he knew refrigerator no longer cooling at all. He gets a 10. However, my experience with the claims dept is a different story. Advertise 24/7 service but when I called in middle of night to file claim I was told to call in am. Once I did they do not prioritize urgency of request. I am a senior, senior with major health problems. I need the refrigerator fixed or replaced quickly as I can not carry bags of ice. I also had to have help to unload and throw away freezer contents. I have medical appts which I don't know whether to cancel until I am notified of parts delivery and technicians return. This is extremely important.

AC wouldn't shut off, tankless wasn't delivering hot water, garage door opener wasn't working at home we purchased. All 3 were fixed promptly, so it was worth the 3 $75 charges. I have been told that home warranties sometimes aren't worth it, but this has worked out for us. I would recommend getting one no matter how old or new the home is, it has paid for itself.

When I called vendor directly they said they had not been contacted by Choice at all and had no record of the appointment. My refrigerator claim was resolved efficiently. A technician arrived on time and got the repair done without any fuss.
However, my subsequent experience with them left much to be desired. When my boiler started having issues last winter, it took about two to three weeks to get someone over during one of the coldest months. The boiler had a problem due to a power surge, and Choice refused the claim citing fine print, leaving me with an unexpected $600 expense beyond a paltry $150 reimbursement — and that came with a challenging process.
Over the years, more issues with my older boiler cropped up. I recall another boiler issue stymied by a delay as I awaited Choice’s contractor, prompting my contractor to pitch their reimbursement program. Eventually, Choice approved a claim for $3,000 but neglected to mention a critical 30-day invoicing requirement until I called them with concerns.
This cycle of what feels like deliberately frustrating policies and reluctant approval has worn my patience thin. Along the way, I’ve heard similar stories from friends and even from my contractor, who used to work for them and warned me about Choice's business practices. Despite some fixes and conciliatory rate reductions, these frequent issues and claim denials pushed some friends to engage other services. Choice’s coverage has been fantastic. While my experience with their insurance has been commendable, especially in terms of what gets covered, the scheduling with partnered companies like Lowe’s and Sears has been quite a hassle. It feels like appointments are auto-assigned without customer convenience in mind. For instance, last-minute notifications of scheduled services just a day before aren't ideal; they don't really accommodate a working individual's timetable. Moreover, it often seems like I'm stuck with the same technician regardless of their reliability because of the 'luck of the draw' nature used in scheduling. While I appreciate Choice’s coverage, I’d prefer more choice in which partners I can avoid.
Aside from these inconveniences, I am pretty satisfied with the support from Choice. The benefits are apparent, but there’s room for improvement concerning scheduling flexibility.

I filed a claim for my dishwasher to be repaired. The repair company came out two days early than the appointment day which was great. The technician stated that it was a bad fuse and replaced it and said it was fixed. I paid my deductible and he left. I used the dishwasher two days later and it still had the same issue that I reported. I got ahold of the company and told them it wasn't working. He just said they would have to order parts. When I asked when the part would be in I got no response. I then called Choice Warranty and was told they would email the company. I still do not have a working dishwasher a week later. I'm a customer who initially opted for Choice Home Warranty with a hope for service convenience. However, my most recent experience has left me deeply frustrated. When I tried to submit a claim due to a plumbing leak occurring on March 7th, the process was easier online, but that's where the convenience ended. It wasn't until May 20th that a technician was sent to inspect and address the problem. By then, the leak had already caused significant water damage to my home, which Choice Home Warranty refuses to cover, claiming it's not part of the service they offer—even after numerous attempts to resolve it and send in photographic evidence.
Communication with Choice has been exasperating. Their system was ineffective, leaving callbacks unanswered, and even when reaching someone, I never received promised follow-ups. People were at best indifferent, leaving me feeling overlooked and dissatisfied.
The customer service, or lack thereof, for my needs pushed me to consider other options, contemplating whether to continue with Choice or seek out a more reliable service provider. If I had to describe the quality of contractors, it was inconsistent—ranging from cooperation to odd encounters with some who seemed rushed or inattentive.
Having a warranty for someone at my age—soon turning 85—was supposed to simplify resolving household leaks and other maintenance issues. Rather, the time lost and self-repairs I've resorted to reflected negatively on Choice Home Warranty, attributing it to poor management and follow-through.

While ultimately satisfied with the result of my claim, multiple technicians from different companies were tasked with diagnosing whether or not my water heater needed to be replaced or repaired. Water was raining out of the tank and it got worse the longer the process took. Ultimately, replacement was approved (both technicians recommended replacement). After multiple calls to customer service and beginning the reimbursement process to get the problem fixed, the claim was approved for replacement. Quicker response would have had less of an effect on my water bill and time emptying the bucket we had catching the water we could catch (this started as once every 36 hours and went to every 2 hours). The whole process took almost 2 weeks. And as of yet, the water heater, ordered by this organization, has not been received for the technician to install. It is hoped to be installed in 3 more days.

After some prior not-so-great experiences with another home warranty provider, I switched over to Choice Home Warranty at my daughter's recommendation. She had been using it and thought it could be a better option for me. Transitioning to Choice Home Warranty, the experience has been somewhat mixed. While putting in a claim online is straightforward, information about contractors is sparse, usually just a name before they show up.
Living in Alabama, there's a real struggle with finding quality contractors because many reputable ones here tend not to deal with warranty companies due to the payouts. Therefore, the contractors I do encounter are often newer or less established, which impacts the overall service quality negatively.
Rating them on service, I'd place them around a 3. What I appreciate most is the ease of filing claims, but there's a lot to be improved about contractor quality and the company's overall reputation in the region.

Your replacement payout for my dishwasher is MUCH TOO LOW. There is no requisite dishwasher on the market at Lowe's or Best Buy close to your $272 payout. Your agent says you only pay wholesale cost. They don’t respond to calls, and the technician submitted the wrong part. The time frame to repair my unit was 8am-5pm. The Tech arrived at 615pm. Told us that we had to reschedule because upon arrival he didn't want to clean our unit and told us that the tech who would come repair our unit could do the work upon the rescheduled date. The AC company did not show up the day before when we had an appt set up even after I called 2 days earlier to confirm. Choice does not want to pay. My house is 23 years old and I am not the first owner. My Delta shower faucet is leaking and the techs replaced the seals but did not fix it. Choice said the faucet was under manufacturing warranty. If you go to Delta website it tells you right there house age and if not original owner it is not covered. I called and verified with Delta. Choice could have done the same but instead made me get a statement from Delta. Choice would only cover labor. I had to order the part. The electrician was very pleasant, and professional, and timely. He found the problem with our light quickly and he repaired it. We were very satisfied with his service and his company. It takes too long to speak to someone. They never call when you leave your phone number. It took me four days to finally speak to someone. This happens all the time, when finally you get someone, as soon as you ask a question concerning your disagreement with your pay off or service; they place on hold and never return or call you back. Why do you have an answering service that place in a queue and they never return your call? Your employees show very little concern about your concern.

This company ONLY covers claims where they have time to schedule a repair company to come out and confirm or diagnose the problem, and THEN make repairs. THEY DO NOT COVER EMERGENCY SERVICES. Our central AC unit went out on Friday, June 13. We filed a claim online with Choice Warranty the same day at 5:35 pm. We received a call from Choice on Monday, June 16, and the representative explained the earliest a tech representing Choice Home Warranty could come out was the following day, Tuesday, June 17, to confirm the AC was not working, without necessarily repairing the unit the same day.
Since we live in the Austin, Texas area and going without AC in mid-June for 5 days or longer is UNACCEPTABLE. So even though we had a valid claim (Choice didn't dispute this whatsoever), because we couldn't wait for their process to take place they refused to cover the expense of the repair, less the deductible. Even a 50% or 80% reimbursement (like your dental insurance if you have it) would have been acceptable. Instead they offered a "courtesy" $200 reimbursement on a $1582 repair that was made within 24 hours by our contractor, SOLUTION FINDERS. The blower motor on our HVAC unit froze up and needed to be replaced on a 15-year old unit. Which is the sort of problem you might think you would buy home warranty insurance for in the first place. But it gets better.
My wife had filed the initial claim online on June 13 at 5:35 pm. We had paid $54.75 per month the first year and 3 payments (soon to be 4) of $64.61 the 2nd year the policy was in force. My wife received a call on Monday, June 16 from a Choice Warranty representative, who explained that since we had already made the repair, the Warranty Company would not cover the expense since we didn't follow their protocol. The representative checked with a supervisor, however, who offered the $200 compensation and we thought something is better than nothing, but we still thought we were being taken advantage of. Choice Warranty also confirmed at that time that they had received the necessary documentation to initiate reimbursement. So we decided to wait until we received a $200 check and would then cancel the policy because it just didn't meet our needs.
When we still hadn't received a check on June 26, my wife called to check on the status and was told that we still needed to upload the repair invoice, which they subsequently confirmed had already been uploaded. AT THAT POINT the representative said that it could take up to 30 days for us to receive a check. This was for claim #** on policy #**.
Since the next $64.71 charge was due to post on our credit card on July 18, I called on Saturday, July 12 to check on the status. The representative, Jennifer, said that the reimbursement was initiated on June 26 and we would receive it within 30 days. I no longer trust this company or its internal process, so I cancelled the policy before another charge was posted. Jennifer told me that if I did that I would not receive a $200 reimbursement check because I would no longer have an account. I cancelled anyway because I had no way of knowing if we would EVER receive a $200 check. BUYER BEWARE

Choice has been good for me for over 5 years. My only complaints have been due to them not wanting to replace appliances with similar ones or offering a low ball pay out which never covers replacement cost. Also read the contract carefully, There are several exclusions and maximum limits that leave you paying out of pocket $$$. Overall though, they are quick to assign the claim and respond. I plan on renewing if they keep my rate the same.

During a recent heat wave, my A/C stopped working and I filed a claim to CHW. They were not able to assign me a technician and offered me to get my own contractor and get reimbursed from CHW later. My contractor came a few days later and fixed the system, we submitted all relevant information but CHW denied my claim. I appealed and the case manager again denied it. It was 100 degree outside, my contactor and I just wanted to get the system fixed ASAP, yet CHW kept asking for more information. This was the second time that CHW failed to provide service as per warranty agreement (last year, an incompetent technician they sent not only did not fix my system, but managed to broke a few things along the way. I had to call my own contractor to fix it, and CHW only reimbursed ~20%of the cost).

Choice Home Warranty has improved a lot. One positive development is the increase in available technicians and companies they work with, especially for air conditioning and plumbing. However, when it comes to appliance repairs, such as those handled by major corporations like Sears and Whirlpool, the process can become overly complicated, involving long waits just to schedule an appointment. I found smaller, local mom-and-pop companies provide much more personalized and efficient service, something that's been less consistent with larger providers. For instance, Choice often provides appointment dates that aren't accurate due to not knowing the actual schedule of these big companies. It's frustrating as a property manager, dealing with tenant expectations and unanticipated delays in services.
A significant issue is regarding repair claims with appliances and AC units. Sometimes, Choice asks for complete overhauls instead of addressing the specific broken part. There seems to be a reliance on regulations that require costly upgrades even when minimal fixes could suffice. This approach leads to wastefulness, creating avoidable expenses for homeowners like myself who maintain numerous properties. While my experience with Home Warranty initially seemed rigid, there was a noteworthy interaction recently. After much debate about reimbursement for a repair I conducted myself through an independent quote, Choice showed willingness to partially compensate for a system upgrade component. This small concession is encouraging.
It’s unfortunate how much emphasis is placed on using major corporations instead of directly contracting skilled small businesses. Ultimately, this system can drive up repair costs unnecessarily while extending tenant inconveniences. More direct involvement with local, certified technicians could really elevate customer satisfaction. I would rate my Choice Home Warranty experience as average. It has been a mix of frustrating bureaucratic hurdles but also occasional accommodation. As both a property owner and a realtor recommending services to clients, advancements in contractor sourcing and simplified repair authorizations would significantly boost confidence in the services provided.

First, I had a phone appt scheduled and the claims manager sent a reminder to my phone by text and nobody called as promised. So, I called and spoke with another claim person, and we had a discussion about the claim that was denied which I still disagree with the decision. I am also out a $100.00 for the service charge. Not a big fan of Choice Home Warranty. I am thinking on cancelling this home warranty for this and the reviews I have read from other customers. Poor service all together.

The tech was efficient and knowledgeable and courteous. He made sure we understood that he was coming back and would call us later that day with a date and time. Sad to say, but this type of service is very unusual today. We appreciate it. My one outstanding problem with this company is that it seems the company will never replace a machine no matter how bad it operates or looks. This refrigerator is falling apart. My husband and I live here alone and are very careful. There is nothing on this machine except the outside handles that is unmarred, cracked or broken. When I bought this contract I didn't expect to have to live with a piece of garbage until it absolutely stopped working and could not be repaired. So I probably could not recommend this type of contract to friends and family unless they understood the severe limitations.

We are very satisfy with the service provided by CHW. They answered our request in a good time frame and always send us professional technicians to repair our appliances. Recently our Garbage disposal was broken, we submitted the claim about 9 pm and they sent us the technician the next day and replaced the unit. The problem was resolved in less time than we expected.
