    To be honest I don’t think we should have paid the full amount for the water heater when we are paying monthly for your service and still have to pay 100 dollars for someone to come out. Also the guys that came out drained the water out of old water heater to my shower. Didn’t clean the dirt out and also they dropped water from old heater on my carpet and wood floors and asked my husband if he has towels. Now I am going to have to pay someone to clean my carpet.

    I thought that the technician that came to my house was extremely confident and very pleasant to deal with. He fixed the situation in a matter of minutes. The only complaint that I have was not with the technician but with the company.. He did not have to repair anything. All he had to do was show me that I needed to turn the icemaker on if I wanted ice and then he charged me $75 for that.

    Although, I did not get full compensation for my failed heat pump due to the technician's observation being "possible lightning" strike to my heat pump, I believe that playing by the rules that CHOICE WARRANTY granting me $350 towards my new heat pump was better than nothing at all. While I have not replaced the heat pump just yet, I'm sure that CHW will stand by its word to grant $350 towards my heat pump repair/installation of my new heat pump.

    The company that you used for to supposedly repair my washer was absolutely horrible, unprofessional and one of the technicians was SO RUDE it was ridiculous. I understand they came from a long way but when they saw where I was located they should not have accepted the job. Just like they work I also work for a living. I pay Choice Home Warranty a fee every month and on time. The technicians should base it around the customer's schedule. Choice also does NOT take into any consideration that the customer works just like they do. Some of the CHOICE employees are RUDE also and do not seem to care how long I went without a washer. I also paid $300.00 plus tax to have my own technician come out and they determined the washer was NOT ABLE to be repaired.

    The last technician that came out to my home made a complete mess in my home and I had water leaking from my washer and caused more damage to my home. I made the decision to replace my washer since no one at CHOICE seemed to care about the customers needs but take my money every month. I did make another service call about my air conditioner and the company that came out to fix my air conditioner was wonderful and would highly recommend them in the future. I did call and ask for some money to be returned to me because I had to make a decision and call my own person to come and look at my washer.. Thank you. Gina **. Thank you.

    For small, non emergency problems, maybe ok, but when I called in over 90 degree weather for A/C out, it took 3 days before ever got response, then another 2 before got tech out. He said they would not cover problem but he would report. He said needed to replace entire A/C. Never heard from Choice. I called my normal A/C guy out. For $180.00 he repaired a clogged water line and it's running fine.

    I got set up very easily and quickly, after I was referred by my realtor. It seems like a great, solid company though a both a shame and curious why fridges are the only major appliance not covered. The folks on the phone communicated very well and the plan is awesome -- I love that service calls are well-priced. Only had two issues: the first is that I asked for the plan to start in September after getting learning about them in July, but when my plan was sent to me it came out with an August start date. After sending that through, a second issue came up where my condo was listed as a single family home, so I will ask that to be fixed too. I cannot comment on how their service calls and repairs go as I have not done one yet but they come highly recommended.

    Choice Home Warranty is the worst warranty company you can go with. If you want your items fixed or repaired do not look their way. You will be sadly mistaken. They will send someone out for you to pay them their 75.00 to come out. After that your claim will be denied and you will not be able to get anyone on the phone again. RUN. RUN. RUN and find you a company that will help you. Choice home warranty is not going to help you.

    Choice Warranty has some of the worst customer service and contractors. Their customer service can’t speak clear English. When their contractors finally make it out to look at your problem 20 days + sometimes out. They have to get an approval from Choice which varies. It can take a day or 3 weeks. There isn’t any consistency. We had a couple claims with them. The one that sent me over the edge was this last time. Our AC. Scheduled 9 days out from our claim date. No communication. Can’t call the technician. Took a day off work to meet the guy and he never shows up. (Sears) never called to say he rescheduled. Choice wanted to put it out another 7 days. We live in South Texas and it’s hot.

    After a heated conversation from someone in Bangladesh which we couldn’t understand. They gave us the run around. Just decided to pay out of pocket $4400 to get it fixed correctly. That’s another problem. They send rookie contractors over to put band aids on everything. I’m really disappointed in this company because they mentioned veterans got a discount on the $3K warranty fee. Total BS. They are just like every other “insurance scam”. Take your money and find a way to screw you. I would not ever recommend this company and I’m telling all my friends to stay away from them. I’m going to find another one but do a lot more research before I commit. I hope my review can save a family from doing business with this company and a lot of heartache.

    I was able to navigate system easily and in a few hours had the appointment within 2 to 3 days depending how one counts. Called Monday morning at 9:00 am and appointment set for Wednesday 3-8pm check with the vendor Cool Force LLC for details. I called and spoke with the owner, a gentleman by the name of Randy. Advised he might be able to arrive earlier once he made is schedule. Well it turned out there was a customer that had to cancel and I received a call and message asking if I would changed to the 8:30 to 9:00 A.M. I had missed the call, saw the message and replied with a YES! Wednesday morning a phone call to confirm gps indicates a 8:57 arrival and that is what it was.

    Randy was well mannered and was all business. He explained his procedures and advised it would take a few minutes to come up with the answers of why there was a struggle and noises at start up, and to maintain temp. He checked and came up with a part that helps and was starting to fail. He called the choice person for approval (which he received immediately) and came back to me within 15 minutes and started to replace. He took the time to point out that my outside fan unit was not bolted down and has a small jump when starting that most likely accounts for the noise I often hear when AC clicks on. He also explained how the parts are connected and why he had to check the parts. Overall Randy is the best AC tech I have had in my home in the 12 years I have lived here. I would rate him a 5 plus.

    I submitted a claim online the minute I identified my plumbing leak. I called 24 hrs. later to see if Choice Warranty had found someone to come out. They said they had not but offered me the option to find my own plumber. I declined (because they didn't cover the claim the last time I did that). They said they would continue to find someone.     I was skeptical about signing up with Choice Home Warranty because of a previous experience with another disappointing home warranty company. The other company could never provide service techs in our market, had us on our own locate a repair company, then argued with us over the value of the product that failed.

    What a *breath of fresh air* Choice Home Warranty is! Not only did they provide a service tech in our area (by the way, RURAL) who was on-time, but also when they then determined the appliance could not be realistically repaired, they provided a realistic payout to provide for purchasing a similar new appliance.     This company does not approve claims. They go out of their way to get out of paying to fix covered appliances. I purchased coverage for 3 houses for 1 year and am very disappointed with the coverage.     The time frame between filing a claim and getting a contractor to come troubleshoot your issue is continually increasing because contractors don’t want to work with this warranty company. Too many hoops to jump through just to get the claim denied. My last technician drove 1.5 hrs to get to my house because nobody local will work with this company. They have a good sales pitch and swindled me out of thousands for a yearly contract. I’ll definitely not renew. I’ll go back to my old company....they were 100x better

    This company is terrible. I filed a claim for my stove/range. Filed July 3rd. Technician came 2 weeks later, July 17th. Service fee 75 dollars. 2 days later July 19th I received confirmation that a 390 dollar gift card to Lowe's would be sent, but it would take up to 30 days. We don't use Lowe's. There was no alternative offered. Now we have to wait 1 months 2 weeks and 2 days from first report just to have a partial funding for my appliance.     I used to have 2-10 Home Buyer's Warranty. When that expired, I researched and saw that Choice was highly rated by Marketwatch. I purchased a home warranty with Choice. I recently had my first claim experience. I returned home after a short vacation and my air conditioner was not functioning. This is in FL in July, so it is very hot and uncomfortable.     This was one of the worse experiences I have ever had. My air went out and I called Choice to schedule service. This was Monday. I got a call back on Monday evening when they stated they would be at my home that Friday. When the techs pulled up they had an unmarked car. They did look at the outside unit and stated that it had frozen and that it needed to thaw out. When I got a call back to reschedule them to come back it was going to be a week later. Tier 2 Heating and Air was an awful experience. They expected me to wait a whole week for them to come back out. Needless to say I have cancelled my HW and asked for my payment to be refunded and was denied. I then asked them to reimburse my $85 service call and was denied. Yes this company is cheaper than most. Just remember you get what you pay for. Oh and by the way I did pay out of pocket to get my cooling system fixed but at least I didn’t have to wait a week.

    When I bought my home last year the seller purchased a home warranty on my behalf through choice home warranty. I never used the home warranty, I forgot I even had it. After 7 technicians and 3 months of waiting, they won’t cover my repair.     Our A/C compressor failed July 17th and I filed a claim July 18th. I received a notice that due to the extreme weather they were unable to dispatch a Technician service within the usual 4 hour period. We received notice on July 19th that a technician service, Tempchangers HVAC, had been assigned and they would contact us prior to arrival on July 19th. I was out of cell phone coverage for a while on the 19th so I forwarded the information to my wife so she would be aware of their arrival.

    Unfortunately CHW did not have my wife's phone on record and consequently neither did the service technician. She was unable to reply to the technician's call that day and therefore they never showed up. My wife tried contacting CHW by phone and by the website. CHW denied her inquiry because her phone number wasn't on the contract. She tried a second time with my phone number, but still was unable to establish any meaningful conversation.

    On July 21st I tried contacting Tempchangers HVAC unsuccessfully because they don't have means to leave messages outside their M-F, 9-5 hours. I also texted them to have them call me. I never received a reply from Tempchangers HVAC. Then I contacted CHW and discovered they did not have any contact information for her even though her name is on the contract. I gave CHW her information, but only her phone number could be listed as a secondary contact and not an email address.

    CHW set up another appointment and on July 22nd a technician contacted us by text approximately thirty minutes prior to arrival. He was polite and professional. The technician diagnosed the initial problem as a burned out fan quickly. He will perform a full diagnostic once the fan is replaced. Now he has to wait on CHW to approve the replacement of the fan before he can purchase the new fan. The fan is required to test the compressor.

    It is now July 23rd, now 5 days and we still have no A/C for comfort and protection to endure the high 90's and 80% humidity. Now we are concerned about the possibility of mold and mildew damage. Now we are looking at least a 6th day if replacement of the fan is approved and the technician can find a replacement. Then he will have to test the system to ensure there is no potential damage to the compressor. CHW should have ensured that there was a secondary contact information for my spouse who is included in the policy. CHW only allows provision for a secondary phone number, but no email address. Those two arrangements would have possibly reduced downtime by two days. I have supplied my wife's contact phone number to CHW and to Tempchanger HVAC in the event they are used again.

She said that controller could have been going bad from the start. The unit is only 5 years old. My technician from Hoover Electric is fabulous and knowledgeable. I have been having AC issues in the dead heat of Arizona summers and they 1, took a week to come look at it and 2, took TWO weeks to come to the conclusion that they are not going to take care of it. I was unaware of that when the next morning a sales person called me and proceeded to sell me another contract even though he saw the first contract for my address. Instead of telling me this, he deleted the contract my father had purchased for me and sold me a new one.     Although we are extremely satisfied with the technician who came to our home to check out our refrigerator (claim was filed on a Sunday-appointment with the technician was the following Sunday....thankfully our refrigerator was cooling and our problem was with the ice maker), once the technician arrived, he determined the problem rather quickly, explained to us what the problem was, and told us what would happen next - him submitting info to CHW, them making a determination regarding the claim, if the claim was approved, he would order the part and return as soon as possible to make the repair.

    This experience was not my first issue with Choice. Choice Scheduled a service tech from Sears to come out about an AC issue. The service window between 7AM-6PM. I received a message from Sears stating that a technician would call with an estimated time of arrival. I never received a call and the number that Choice provided for Sears was an automated service to reschedule or cancel. The technician showed up at my house at 7:35PM, 1 1/2 hours past the service window. Asked for the $75 service charge, then went into my attic, then came down to tell me he could not inspect the unit because there was no flooring around it. He said Sears had a policy that the unit must have decking around it. As he left he said someone other than Sears would have to inspect the unit.

    Later that night I received a message from Sears to reschedule. I received an email from Choice the next day that the tech had submitted this completed report and the issue was not covered. I filed an appeal and then called. I was told someone would call back that day. I did not speak to anyone until the next day. In the meantime, I had to call someone else to come out to inspect the unit. The tech came, diagnosed the issue, and fixed the unit in about 30 minutes. Of course I had to pay a service fee and cost of repairs to the company, but I had already been without air conditioning for several day and had no other choice. To appeal with Choice and get someone else out would have been several more days. I was told by Choice that I should contact my case manager, which I didn't know about.

    When I spoke with her and explained my frustration, she told me about the (false) report and that I should not have called someone else. I asked if she could have gotten someone else out today and she said no. I told her I wanted to cancel my policy. He only solution was to give my a month free without charge. I told her that I was out $75 for service fee and she was offering $43.75 and that was not fair. She said that was all she could do so I told her I wanted to cancel my policy. She said, "Consider it canceled" and slammed the phone down.

    I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by Choice Home Warranty, and I now believe the company is operating in a deceptive manner. I submitted a claim on July 7, 2025, due to an issue with my home air conditioning system. Initially, I was told a technician would be assigned within 24 hours, but that never happened. Instead, I was given the option to use my own technician and request reimbursement. I proceeded with that option and hired a technician from Carolina Conditions. He initially diagnosed the issue as a faulty capacitor. The diagnosis was submitted and promptly approved by the warranty company. However, after replacing the capacitor, the compressor started running but failed to cool.

    Upon further inspection, the technician identified refrigerant leaks and explained that the type of coil in my current system is no longer available in the market—meaning a full system replacement is necessary. The home warranty company declined to pay the service charge for the technician. When I informed Choice Home Warranty, they said they would send their technician and opened a new claim on July 10, 2025, and promised to send one of their own technicians within 24 hours but never happened.

    On July 14, they finally assigned someone to inspect the system on July 18. The technician arrived around noon on the 18th but has yet to submit a diagnosis report. As of now—6:20 PM on July 21—I have followed up with the warranty company multiple times, and each time I am told they are "waiting for the technician’s diagnosis." Meanwhile, we are enduring unbearable conditions with indoor temperatures reaching 92°F. This situation is completely unacceptable, and the lack of urgency and accountability from the Choice Home Warranty has only made matters worse.

Plugged in and found 82C error for inverter fault. Found compressor pulling locked rotator amps while running creating fault. Recommend new compressor, inverter, drier, and icemaker replacement kit at a minimum to repair unit. My claim was denied for none normal wear and tear. I called the service company. Their comment was, how can there be non normal wear? And tear, you plug a refrigerator and left. Let it run. There was nothing non normal about this.     What Choice Home Warranty has to offer does not meet my needs. 1) When my HVAC went out, I had to spend most of my money to get it diagnosed as needing to be replace so this part of the benefit did me very little good, as far as I am concerned I had to pay for my base call charge and to follow their procedures to run up a bill I knew would result in a decision that the HVAC needs to be replace. I do not consider that home warranty costs, it is the cost of their procedure which is really a cost of doing business and has nothing to do with a Home Warranty repair. So the value is just not there. 2) Before I had my HVAC replace I had it go out a couple of times and it took more than a week to get someone out to repair it, that is their procedure also. In the heat of summer, that does not cut it.

    3) When I went to cancel my policy that reduced the refund by the amount that they had paid out, which was mainly the cost for them to diagnosis a problem I already new I had, 4) I found that what they might be good at is doing everyday handy person stuff over a long period of time, since I can do most of that myself, it took me less time to do it than to deal with their administrative procedures. They don't seem to give their people much room to do what is right and provide value to their customer. It was more like, we have this script that we need to follow even if it doesn't make much sense. If that is what you want they may be good for you.

    They did not meet my needs and I did not get much value from their warranty as it mainly covers the cost of their procedures and not much is left over to hand the cost or repair or replacement. I was looking for something that would cover major costs not the 5 cent and 10 cent stuff. In the end, my time was worth more to me, than the hassle.

    If you're looking for a company that promised you the world and give you nothing. Then you've come to the right place. It is the worst company ever. There is no build back better with this company. We had a refrigerator the went down. It took over a week to get a repair tech out. If you talk to anyone you are transferred out of the country to someone in China. They then sent seven other technician out over a period of 2 months for our main refrigerator. The last company came out said they could fix It for $1,100. Choice warranty did not want to spend the money on the repair. Refrigerator is a freestanding Frigidaire we bought it for the name and the quality. The unit is 3 years old. Choice home warranty opted not to repair it.

    In our contract it says each item covered in our house has a coverage of $3,000. They offered us to replace the unit of 572. If you want to talk to a manager good luck. You could literally hang yourself. Another experience I have learned with them if your air conditioning goes out companies will not work with them because choice home warranty will not pay the technicians. If you are looking for peace of mind this is not the place. They promise you the world and give you nothing in return. The worst customer service you have to put in a number for a phone call back. No one will take your call unless you are signing up to purchase They have live people to talk to you.. If you have an ongoing case they don't care if it drags out for months. It has literally been 2 months. Now only getting paid out for my refrigerator of 3 years that cost over $3,500. Less than $600. That is not what their contract states.

    The worst company ever. The contract states per covered item. And the case manager stated they're only paying $3,000 per year. So let's say you had your AC go out and your refrigerator go out and something else. They are only going to cover 3,000 for all those items. Again this is not what their policy states. If you wonder why it takes so long for someone to pick up your service call it's because basically they put it out in the universe. hoping a technician will pick it up. But most technicians see who the job is for and know that choice warranty will not pay them for their work. Run. I don't care what kind of savings you're getting. It is absolutely not worth your copay of $65. Pay the extra $85 for a service tech with a reputable company that is proud of what they do. This company is the biggest joke ever. You will be miserable with this company. I wouldn't even give them a star. But it's the only thing I can do.

    Choice is OK. I have an issue with the companies that work for them. It took me at least 3 weeks just to schedule a service for my freezer!! I sent multiple emails with detailed information about my freezer and what is wrong with it yet when the serviceman finally got here he had never heard any of that. We knew it was the gasket, which we said in our emails, and the serviceman agreed. But now he needs to order it so we will have to schedule another appointment to have it replaced.     I am very happy with the overall process and quick response. However, in a previous claim, there was constant communication by phone. I knew what was happening, when it was going to happen and how it was going to happen. With this claim for a stovetop microwave not working, no one has verbally spoken to me except the technician that came to the house and told me “someone would give me a decision of fixing or replacing the microwave by phone or email”. They usually make decisions pretty quick, and after several days went by of checking my emails and waiting for the phone to ring, each time I called to inquire about the decision with the Support/Claims department, an automated voice would tell me to “leave my number and someone would return my call and if I remained on hold the line would disconnect.” This happened 3 times. No one ever returned my calls.

    I finally went to the website and found out that THIS is how they are now communicating and that a replacement will be made. After this good news I find out that I will be receiving a gift card from Lowe’s to get my replacement but it may take up to 30 days to receive it plus I have to hire someone to install it because Lowe’s nor Choice Home Warranty will install it. I would still recommend Choice Home Warranty because of their quick response, great service and they are fair in their decisions, but I recommend letting the customer know why, when and how communication will change, especially older customers that are not very tech savvy. Today is 15 days since their decision and I have yet to receive the gift card.

    I recently filed a claim for my leaking dishwasher. After the technician visit, your company decided that it would be better to replace it rather than repair it. I received an email stating that I was going to get a Lowe's giftcard for $259 in 30-45 days. My dishwasher is a Bosch and when I looked on Lowes website the cheapest Bosch dishwasher is $550, with an additional $200 for installation and $50 to take my old one. So $800 total!     No AC for 3 weeks! I am not one to write reviews, but I want to make sure that everyone knows what they are getting into before getting this AWFUL home insurance. We are still waiting for our air conditioning unit to be fixed, and it has already been three weeks since we filed the claim. We were finally allowed to find our own technician after almost two weeks of waiting for them to assign us one. They then decided to deny our claims stating that we already had the unit fixed before approval.

    OUR AC UNIT IS STILL BROKEN, and even the case manager assigned could not explain how they came up with that conclusion. They apparently have to submit it again for review which will take another 48 hours. I called today (Saturday), and they state the reviewers do not work weekends, so it is essentially 4 days before we get any kind of response. At this point, we probably looking at least one month before we even get our AC fixed, if it will even be covered at all.

    If zero was an option that would be my rating! I filed a claim last year for my AC. I paid my fee and a Technician was sent out. Here it is again almost a year later and I had to place another call for my AC and pay another fee! The call was made to create a claim June 21, 2025. At the writing of this review almost 1 MONTH later I still have yet to get a resolution and I am still without AC. You have to make multiple calls and deal with AI just to get a live person. The contact policy is frustrating because EVERY TIME you call you will have to start over with a new person and your frustrations are recreated. A company was assigned Juan HVAC and it was the worst experience ever!!! I initiated contact and when I finally reached someone 30 minutes prior to the end of my 4 hour wait window, I was blown off with no follow-up from the Company!

    I really hope Choice looks into it and no other customer has to deal with them because that’s embarrassing! Then as aforementioned if no solution and you need to call, the process starts ALL OVER AGAIN trying to speak to someone. This warranty was very pricey to have the experience I’m going through. Then it becomes a cat and mouse game with a reimbursement option but yet you as the Customer lose because you’ll be spending additional money to obtain a resolution! This is absurd but again if you don’t want to spend additional money you are at their mercy! This is pathetic and very disappointing and needless to say once my warranty is up (because if you cancel you still lose money as the customer) I will definitely not return. Hopefully my issue is resolved soon!!!!

I'm hoping that CHW approves the request to find the leak and repair it rather than just recharging the coolant. As of now they have not. I pay $75 every time it's charged. The efficiency of the unit degrades over time. I hope this is not a stalling tactic by CHW and they will fix the problem.

    Choice warranty will not cover labor for parts with manufacturer warranty. They have twice now not covered items that other Home warranty company will cover for. Do not purchase from them! They are slow at assigning someone to repair the items as well. It has been a complete waste of money.

    Steven called to let me know he was on his way. He evaluated the situation, refilled the Freon and devised a fix for a leak. He was professional and polite. He is clearly skilled in many areas and willing to get the job done. He assured me I could call again if the AC was still not cooling properly.
