My heat unit went down. Choice sent someone within 12 hrs and repaired within 24 hrs. I only paid the service call and they approved all the repairs. Very impressive. I recommend Choice Warranty to everyone homeowner but especially new houses.

I ordered your service and was told a monthly amount. Just looked at my account and the full 400 was taken out of my account. I have sent my check off for my mortgage and it will bounce if the money is not replaced immediately.

Very pleased with my service, called Choice, next day they had Hubb Heating (they were awesome) here diagnosed the problem. 1 day approval through Choice & next day my furnace was repaired. Awesome!! Thank you! As long as Choice stays this great on customer service, I'll stay a customer. I've already referred to family and friends.

I was informed for the technician visit to attend my claim on a window time from 11 am to 3 pm, however the 3 pm was met and no phone call from technician, I phoned him and said to be delayed. Finally got home by 4:30 pm with no call informing going on the way down home. Other than that minor concern, everything was good with the repair of the appliance (washer).

The dishwasher in the new house worked for the home inspector, but not for me. PLM Appliance Repair was dispatched and found the control board (located at the door handle) was bad. I had to appeal an initial rejection of claim because handles and latches are not covered, but PLM was efficient and very nice.

Certainly too early to rate service. Technican came out, diagnosed problem, and is ordering parts. I have no idea why Choice would close this claim. Why close claim. I paid $45 service fee. Hopefully you have not paid for repairs as they have not been started.

HVAC went out on Jan. 10. As of date (Jan. 17), still not fixed. We were told they were waiting on a part. But...no one will tell us where the part is or when it will come in. With highs in the 30s and 40s and lows in the 20s, this is unacceptable. I am grateful there are no children in the home or we would have had to move out. Communication is horrible. Can't rate how the repair went, because there has been no repair.

First they start by having different people return your contacts. Then they all provide different excuses. THEY ARE PREDATORY OF SENIOR CITIZENS. I finally had a local news agency pay them a visit to NJ with cameras rolling. Their CEO was seen hiding and avoiding comment. End result The NJ State Attorney General forced them to pay out over $780,000 to NJ residents alone!

We are extremely impressed that your rep answered her phone almost immediately both on the initial call and my call back. This may seem like a small thing. To me it is huge as I had just got off the phone with our previous warranty company after waiting in their phone queue for over 30 minutes. We look forward to such service, it is such a relief.

They sell the plan saying, "We will fix it or we will replace it. You will only have to pay the $45 for the technician to go a check." The biggest lie ever. After you paid everything goes wrong and none of the items are cover. Customer Service they are rude and careless. I hope you read this before you make the same mistake I did.

Just wanted you to know that the technician from Busters arrived on time, checked out the garage door device, isolated the problem and repaired it. He also adjusted the door and greased the rollers and hinges. I would recommend this company to all your clients in this area.

The turn around time we were initially told it would take to order parts was two weeks! Then when the decision was made to replace, we were offered amounts that would never be sufficient to replace the appliances plus told the checks wouldn’t arrive for 30 days. The amount of time it takes plus the low amounts appliances are valued at seem unfair.

Experience was better than expected, call the 800 number and had an appointment the following day, authorization for repair done the same day. Had to wait for part which added an extra day. Ink Air were excellent and friendly. Nice people wouldn’t mind using them again in the future.

Call for a simple repair of dishwasher and they said it not worth fixing. Offer one quarter of what a dishwasher would cost. Tech did not know what he was doing. Said they don't replace any appliances. That's not what their contracts say or states. Offer us $125. After we already paid for their service call. That like giving us $80 to replace it ourself. If I wanted to do this myself I wouldn't buy the insurance. This is a terrible company and should not be allowed to do business in NY. Misleading people in thinking they actually have good tech.

REPAIR OF CLOTHES DRYER - The service technician was friendly and eager to fix the dryer. Luckily it was only the belt that broke so the drum could not spin. Very satisfied with repair done and would not hesitate to call Choice Home Warranty for any future maintenance in our home.

This was the first time I had to use my warranty and I couldn't be more pleased with the service I was given. I had an appointment just two hours after I made the initial call for the next afternoon. The repairman called and was right on time. My husband was home and said the repairman was very nice and knowledgeable. Fixed our washer is about 30 minutes. Great Service!!!

Our heating and air unit was making noise. So we called CHW and they got someone immediately. All GS services out of Cullman drove a hour to Tuscumbia to check our unit. Discovered the problem and drove to Tanner AL to get part to fix out unit. It was fixed within thirty minutes after returning with the parts. Thanks so much to CHW for the quick response. So glad we had our plan with your company. I would definitely recommend your company to anyone needing an protection plan.

The toilet was repaired but everything was not addressed and the workmanship was shoddy. Here is a note from my tenant... "FYI: This fellow did not clean up the sticky wax mess he left in the back of the toilet where it meets the floor. That stuff is nasty to clean up. My heart just sank. Ick, ick, ick. No excuse to be so sloppy. You think he'd at least take a putty knife and try to get some of it up. I think the only thing that really works is mineral spirits and a putty knife + utility gloves. That's not our job. Sometimes, I just shake my head and wonder what is wrong with some people who take no pride in workmanship. Heck, I've discounted my work projects at times but I don't let my work quality suffer. Sheesh." So, while he was a pleasant guy, I think he just couldn't get out of here fast enough once that wax ring was installed. What happened today was not, in any way, a proper investigation of the leaking water.

Michael came to my house to fix my pool, he inspected my pool and told me the motor was damage. He fixed right away. Michael is a great guy, very polite, intelligent and he knows his job very well. I'm so glad he was the one to come to my house, I was very happy on the job he did. I gave him 100/100.

Had issues with my pool/spa. Called the pool installer and they said they'd get back to me. Three weeks went by, never heard from them. Then I remembered that I can go through Choice Home Warranty for repairs. I gave up waiting on the pool installer. Choice sent a contractor to my house that diagnosed the issue as needing a new filter. Choice approved the work to be done and would pay $367, with balance paid by me of $151.88.
Got a call yesterday from a guy that said he was coming out to repair the issue. Thought he was from Choice. Turns out, it was Hayward that the pool installer sent out but now at 4 weeks later! Anyway, he fixed it (was a Impeller, Diffuser and Shaft Seal, NOT the filter). Total bill was $235.00. He had already completed the work when he finally told me he was from Hayward not Choice. Called Choice and they'll only consider reimbursing with PRIOR approval of another contractor. I truly would have done that had I known he wasn't with Choice. Anyway, I think they need to look into the experience of these contractors they're sending out.
This is the 2nd time I've had a Choice Home Warranty contractor make the WRONG diagnosis. Plus, there should be an escalation process for these situations where work/contractor wasn't approved prior to the work but yet the item is actually fixed and working properly and would be cheaper for Choice Home Warranty's portion of the repair besides! They're capped at $500 per contract year on pool/spa repairs. Shouldn't matter if I use my contractor or their assigned contractor since they're not paying more than a set amount, and not guaranteeing my contractor's work anyway.

Love your customer service and most of your providers. I wish we could choose the same providers over and over if we have had a good experience with them though. CHW really needs to do a better job vetting their providers and checking the reviews and ratings of them, some are terrible.

My $2800 fridge stopped working. Choice made the decision to replace the fridge & offered me $800. They would not increase the offer. Replacement cost should be replacement cost, not cheap knock off. I am suing because the person assigned to my case will not return or accept calls from me or my attorney and she won't let us talk to her supervisor.

I entered a claim for my dryer online on Sunday (1/13) at 7:05 pm. I received a confirmation email less than 2 hours later at 8:47 pm notifying me that my claim had been assigned and an appointment was set for Monday morning. I called the repair company to agree on a time that best fits my schedule on Monday 1/14. The technician diagnosed the problem with the drier, Contacted Choice Home Warranty who immediately approved the repair based on the technician's estimate. My dryer was back in service less than 24 hours from the time I submitted my claim. Talk about service! When my wife got home from work on Monday, she was excited to find out that the dryer had been repaired.

I was considering a home warranty and found Choice online. I called last night and spoke to Grady. I purchased a year program, but he said since I was a senior, I should take the 3 yr deal. I said, "No thanks" and he became rude and said no one rejected this plan. I said I did because I was not sure of this company or program. He said "let me talk" and was very discourteous. I then said CANCEL my program as I do not want to work with a company with rude people. He said deal is already done and I said, "No thank you."
I called back and got Jeffrey. He said he could sell it for $420 instead of $460 and I said, "No thank you," and want my debit card purchase cancelled. He said he would forward me to Retention Dept, but got no answer. I then called back and got Isaac. He said I would have to call Retention Dept tomorrow (Wed) because they are closed. I will call at 9am today to cancel this transaction as I cannot and do not want to work with rude and discourteous company.

Called to have our stove repaired October 13, 2018. A local repair service came out, but had to take the bad part back to shop to ensure correct part was ordered. Got a call. The part would not be in until around Nov 20, 2018. The end of the first week in December the part was in and an appointment for the following Thursday was scheduled.
They were a no show. I called the next morning to be informed. Choice dropped their contract and they were no longer able to fix the stove. They gave the work order to get another repair service who we have never seen... Only talked to on the phone. Now, 30 days later, I am going to buy a new stove to replace the stove Choice should have gotten fixed. The central heat went out in early November. While we still have the same contractor, it has been over 2 months without heat during the coldest months. Service is ridiculous and we have paid 3 trip charges with getting absolutely nothing in return. Worst investment ever.

Choice Home Warranty refused to replace our 3-year-old hot water heater after it began leaking. When a water heater leaks water, common sense dictates that the main, holding or storage tank (whichever is applicable) would need to be replaced. After reading the Exclusions, I'm actually not certain what WOULD be covered. Total BS. Would NEVER recommend Choice. Very disappointed and feel like I was scammed. Probably because I was!

There was some confusion between myself and your sales agent as to who said what and when it was said. This confusion resulted in my bank account being overdrawn about $350.00. I would never tell your agent anything that would cause an overdraft in my account. Never-the-less I THINK everything has been resolved.

I called and place a claim about my stove on Friday 11th of January and they gave me an appointment for Sunday January 20th so I'm going to be without stove for a week and a half. My wife is diabetic. I don't have money to be buying at the restaurant every day three meals a day for 11 days. That's what I got the warranty for. I need this stove ready to cook some meals for me and my wife. This is a poor service.

The best part - highly competitive proposal in an industry that is sometimes suspect and the leader is very high priced. Also, the agent I finally dealt with was very professional and did ask if I was senior or veteran which I am both. Obviously, this made a difference in the price and the 3-year plan was the one chosen. While I hope I don't have to use the most severe part of the plan I do like having a way to get things fixed if and as needed and at a fixed service call rate. The worst part - all the phone calls and emails from many people even after I had signed up. My financial advisor looked over the original plan and said it looked good.

Service call for heat pump - Service technician arrived early. He introduced himself, confirmed the problem and went to work. Luckily for us, it was a quick fix and he fixed the problem and I had heat again. Some insulation had fallen off of a door and wrapped itself around the motor inside the something underneath our house. Glad to have it fixed so quickly.

The furnace repair guy, Maurice was very knowledgeable and quite courteous!!! I enjoyed his feedback about the furnace installed in my home. He explained the issue quite well and after receiving approval to fix the motor, he did so with ease and I’m quite happy and now have heat in my home again!

I would never recommend Choice Home Warranty to anyone. Their contractors are horrible. They are unexperienced. They have no knowledge in their field. Have Plumbing problem in my master bathroom. Choice Home Warranty sent contractor out who stated my house is haunted, didn't even check to see if pipes are leaking, complain about other customers calling him while at my house. Made the whole experience uncomfortable and dissatisfied.

Claim Determination #** - I WAS TOLD THE INSURANCE WOULD REPLACE THE MICROWAVE BY THE SERVICE PROVIDER. I NEVER RECEIVED A RECEIPT OR INVOICE. REPEAT... CHW use service provider photos and interprets the service provider's assessment of the damage to exclude payments under the policy exceptions. Mainly, on home repairs with appliances or HVAC, or electrical items 10 years aged. Most important when you get a policy you are not advised to review the policy exceptions which is critical. Plainly put, they exempt payment on damage due to normal wear and tear, the inevitable.
Example a recent microwave claim. The service provider stated the microwave was not heating because the metal was burned causing the megaton or mag to not heat and not reparable. The insurance determined that interior lining is damaged causing the microwave to arc. There is nothing in writing about arc. The service provider told me it is not interpretation which is “excluded” under section D number 9 terms and conditions. This happened on previous claim for the air conditioning. It has been determined that interior lining is damaged causing the microwave to arc.

PLEASE do yourself a favor and DO NOT waste money and time with these scam artists! For starters the customer service is terrible. Very rude. I signed up for a three year plan and my experience has simply been terrible. For starters, they contract sub par companies that do terrible work. I've had work done that was never fixed and CHW does not care at all. For example, I had a clogged sink and a service company came to snake it out. The serviceman was at my house for ten minutes and after snaking the line he said everything was fixed and perfect. I kid you not when I say that very night, the drain was clogged. I called CHW and told them what happened. They made me pay an additional fee to have someone come down because it was considered a "new" problem! What a bunch of nonsense! Any other plumber would have come back to stand by the work they did.
I had an appliance that broke down. I called CHW, set up an appointment and the company that came charged me the service fee and said we needed a part. They never showed up again! I called CHW multiple times and got the runaround. I was told to reach out to the service company...never got calls back! Eventually after arguing over and over with CHW, they finally scheduled another appointment with another company but refused to waive the service fee I already paid... Why you ask? It was about 45 days after the first company originally came and as I mentioned I called both parties over and over and over again! CHW says "We’re sorry but I should have resolved this before the 30 day deadline!” WHAT! Really!
These guys are complete scam artists that look for ways not to pay even on completely legitimate claims. The go to is DENY! If a customer puts up a fight then maybe they will get lucky. Example, one of my appliances does not completely function. When an expensive part was needed to fix it they would neither approve the part nor replacement of the appliance! Are you kidding! Are you telling me if my oven has five heat functions and say broil doesn't work, my claim gets denied because "Sir technically you can still use your oven...just not broil". I kid you not, this is how these scam artists work.
After speaking with my attorney, I am currently fighting this claim. They are completely wrong and simply looking for weak customers who will give up and not fight the system. I'm sure they have everything down to a science where they approve a sprinkling of cases over the year but the vast majority is deny deny deny. By the way, I get that certain things are not covered. That is fair. The problem is that they will look for every which way to deny, even when they are legally required to! The point is that they deny in the hopes that you will just go away. Please do yourself a favor... STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCAM ARTIST CLOWNS!!!

My appliances are Kenmore and I had a service plan with Sears. On renewal the fee was quite high so I did an internet search and found a list of the top 10 home warranty providers and at the top was Choice Home Warranty. I was pleased that I could get a program for my whole house for about the same price that covered my washer, dryer and refrigerator. Choice had multi year options. Gave added benefits. I am glad that I made Choice my choice!

I can only talk about the initial contact and set up process. Mr. ** was informative and patient as I discussed with the wife on what plan to do. Also appreciate Choice having a military discount supporting our veterans. AND I was also able to LOCK in a rate for 6 years on two houses!! My wife and I both left work early on two separate days in order to be home for the appointment and the technician did not complete the work on either day. For the original appointment, we had to call the company, 45 minutes after the technician was scheduled to arrive, for them to tell us he was delayed and needed to reschedule. Upon rescheduling, we arrived home less than 5 minutes after the technician was to arrive and he had already departed but we never received a call informing us he was at the house. We finally rescheduled for the next day, a Saturday, and the technician was pleasant and completed the job rather quickly with no issue.

I own a house which I have leased to a family for 10 years. I have the Premium coverage on this property as well as the house my wife and I live in. This event was at the investment property. My tenant called to say 3 plugs were dead, and he could not find any reason, all the GFIs were set, fuses all OK. He called in a claim. Technician found an unknown plug, which happened to be an unnecessary GFI on a circuit controlled by another GFI. The found GFI which was defective, and would not reset was replaced, the panel was checked. All OK.

I placed a call for my lights not working in basement. The electrician came on time and did some diagnosis. But he said he needs to do tracing and Choice refused to pay for tracing. How is an electrician supposed to trace an electrical fault without tracing? Very disappointed again in your service. I had to pay out of my own pocket for the repairs.

I had this service for a year my policy is up in April. Thank god. Every person I talk to was no help at all until the manager Andy called me. I was satisfied so then the technician came out, stayed for about 15 minutes, told me the situation and waited on his service fee then said I have to send it to in to them to approve it then left. I haven’t heard from no one since so now I have to probably pay someone else for the job they were suppose to do. I will never refer anyone to this company at all. They're scam artists who takes your money and don’t do their job. I’m glad my warranty is up. I’m going to try a different one. I will look at their ratings first before I make a decision. I only used this service once and I was satisfied they fixed my hot water tank. I was happy. Home Advisor is a pretty good place to try for repairs. I think I will go with them when I need something fixed. This company here is worthless

Our dryer had worked sporadically, and was clearly in need of repair. When we first called about this issue, the first repairman, told us that the dryer needed an intervention; however, this didn't happen because he never submitted his order to Choice, so they sent another company; that person said that the belt was still intact, and it didn't need an intervention despite making loud noises. Finally, it died, and we had to make another request (paying another $45), and determined that the belt and the defective part had to be replaced, which was done. It should have been repaired the first time.
Another issue is setting up the time for the visit. I provided the Choice agent with the day that someone could be at the house on my call (Friday), however, when we got the appointment, it was for Thursday, when we couldn't be there. We had to call the repair company to reset the appointment, which should have been made for the day that we were available in the first place.

I hear so many horror stories about how home warranty companies are scams. CHW had proved them all to be wrong! I had 2 claims (Refrigerator and furnace) in our first year of purchasing our home. Both companies they sent out were amazing, friendly, efficient, on time, and taught me the proper upkeep to prevent future malfunctioning. Best investment by far. Thank you CHW!

For this job and the one prior, I was dissatisfied at how many days apart from reporting the problem til the techs were actually expedited to do the work. The first job they were going to take one week to arrive until I complained enough that my first floor would be flooded if I waited that long. After waiting for 2 or 3 days the tech said that Choice would not authorize the repair, which caused me to have to find another tech paid in full $1,200 out of pocket to repair the leak.
Next job, refrigerator repair, the refrigerator stop working on Wednesday. Choice dispatched an appliance repair company, they scheduled the visit for the following week on Monday. My house is rented and my tenants had to throw away the spoiled food. Therefore I needed to fix the refrigerator right away to secure my rent payment. I had to find a repairman on my own that could get there that same day which cost me $280.00 and Choice reimbursement to me is only $70. Somewhere in the communication between the repairman and the authorization dept. there was a mix up that cost me $280.

Choice lined up A&A Contractors to repair a broken toilet in Santa Rosa Beach FL for repair between 3:00-8:00 on 1/10/19. At 6:30 I began calling and at 7:30 the contractor called, said Choice sent him a work order for the following day, and that he would do the repairs on 1/11/19 at 3:00. By 4:00 I began calling again and eventually got to the contractor which said he ran into some delays but would be there by 6:00. By 6:30 I started calling again. He never showed up or answered my other calls. 2 DAYS A NO SHOW. By Choice partnering with undependable contractors such as A&A Contractors, they too are just as undependable to the customer.

Everything was good except the communication between Choice and the repairman. There was no communication about the payment to him. We were told we didn’t owe him anything and he said we did. The timely email about the solution to our dryer problem was very acceptable. We decided to take the cash payout and be done with it. Since it cost so much to fix it, we will apply it toward a new purchase.

I put in a claim to have my furnace repaired since it was not working. In Michigan you need heat this time of year. After 27 hours we still did not have a repairman coming to do the repairs. I finally had to call a local repair company to come and do the repair. To keep the pipes from freezing we had to use the oven to heat the home. It should not take over 27 hours to get a repair scheduled. In Michigan this is a emergency and they should have done more to find a repair company, I keep contacting customer service with nothing but excuses. I was told that the $75.00 copay would be waived because of problems with other claims. Now I have to contact them again because they told my wife we had to pay the copay. I've put in 3 claims and have had problems with each one.

I was unhappy last winter I had to have my water tank replaced and your company would not replace it. They offered me $300.00. My furnace went out last winter and your company sent out 2 different service companies who could not figure out what was wrong with the furnace. Then I call 4 Seasons who tried to sell me a new one and they to told your company that my furnace was dirty which was incorrect because I had my furnace serviced for the winter. So I called another company and they looked at the furnace and said it was something very small and replaced the part and now my furnace is working fine. Need to say I paid the service fee for your company with no results, I paid Four Seasons with no results and a lie before I called Accurate Heating and Cooling and they solved the problem.

This service contractor is an idiot! It is himself and one other tech. Not sure who knows less about repairing a dishwasher. I started a claim end of November 2018 - to date January 2019 it is still not fixed. And when they finally received the part after I informed them they had it for 4 days via USPS - I had to continue daily, weekly and now monthly follow up with this vendor to resolve this issue. Which is still not resolve and worse than when I started the initial claim. The tech did not run a cycle with my dishwasher. Only plugged it in and said, "There it works." Did not even turn the water on to the unit, or secure it into the cabinet location.
Once I and I state I figured all of this out - I ran a cycle - the drainage cycle went into my basement office and was a waterfall coming out of the ceiling onto a NEW $15k embroidery/sewing machine. I assumed the appliance was fixed and did not check the basement until the next morning 12 hours later. A continual stream of water for 12 hours. My flooring is ruined - my embroidery machine is dysfunctional - I cannot produce customer orders because of my machine being damaged. The vendor will not produce proof of insurance and is putting the blame on me. Can you say...

I have had very few claims since purchasing this home warranty, but EVERY time I attempt to submit something there seems to be something in the fine print to prevent me from filing a claim. You are discouraged from using your own technicians and the one person I allowed them to send out was not very knowledgeable. I ended up hiring my own electrician and paying for the work myself. I would not recommend this company at all.

If I could give them 1/2 a star I would. They are absolutely useless. They take your money for payment and don't cover what needs to be covered. If I hear pre-existing one more time I will SCREAM. You were told when I signed up how old my home was and that all was original in the house. You call about service and you get told that the problem is pre-existing or related to something that is not covered by the contract. The only problem I have is lack of communication. I got an automated message indicating Platinum Plumbing would be coming 2 days after I submitted my claim. That seemed too long to wait, considering we had raw sewage backing up into our home. Platinum took care of business and cleared the clog. It was a good value at $45.

Claim # **. On 12/15/18 I call about my oven not working. All Star came out & ordered 2 parts. I called to follow up with All Star to see when they will come back to fix the oven. They receive 1 part. I asked if the follow up with you to get the other part, All Star said no. So I called CHW (doing All Stars job). CHW said they had sent 2 parts. 1/9 All Star came out to fix the dishwasher that was worked on 8/18, still not working properly & another oven. I asked if they were going to fix the oven on the claim # above, he said he didn't have an order or parts.
I called All Star & CHW to do a 3 way, the second part was STILL not sent out. I asked the claim to be escalated to supervisor (2nd time this was requested). Keenan, cust. service supervisor said All Star needed to call back to their division to order the part. I asked for the part to be overnighted, CHW said All Star, Jackie< would have to request that. I STILL DO NOT HAVE A WORKING OVEN or know when or if the correct part has been shipped to ALL STAR. I asked for a free service call for 1/9/19, Keenan did approve that.

Nick arrived during the 3 hour window and replaced my disposal without issue. I have used CHW 3 or 4 times since I signed up and have been happy enough to stay with them. They are the best value in the industry that I have found.

Our furnace in our house in Pewaukee, WI broke sometime in the early morning of 1 Jan 2019. When we woke up it was 48 degrees in the house. I figured since it was New Years Day I would not be able to get it fixed. I went online to Choice Home Warranty, put in my policy number and within two hours had a very knowledgeable Furnace Tech at my house. 2 hours later an entire new blower unit was installed and heat was flowing. When he was done the Furnace Tech looked at his paperwork and said, "You owe nothing due to my zero deductible Choice Home Warranty plan." Absolutely could not be happier with Choice Home Warranty company. Great Company. I would highly recommend them.

The Technician said it was Child Lock, apparently I accidentally hit the Child Lock button. A few more questions by the Customer Service Rep may have prevented a Service Call, could have been resolved by a phone call with the Technician.

In December 2013, I purchased a home warranty service contract with Choice Home Warranty. The home warranty service contract covered the appliances at my home. I purchased the Total Plan coverage which included coverage of the air conditioning unit. I have been paying the contract amount every month from December 2013 to date (up to and including October 2018).
On or about September 4, 2018, I contacted Choice Home Warranty to request service for my air conditioning unit as it was not cooling or turning on. Choice Home Warranty notified me via email that a service technician with Air Champs would be at my home. The technician arrived on September 6th and after inspecting my unit advised that my unit was completely out of refrigerant. He advised me that in order to determine the cause of the loss of refrigerant, he would need to perform a leak test. The leak test would cost $250.000 in addition to the $45.00 service fee. I contacted Choice Home Warranty and was advised that they do not pay for this testing and that I am required to pay for the test in order for them to be able to make a decision about whether to service/repair my unit.
I paid the $295.00 fee. The technician performed the leak test and determined that the air conditioning coil was leaking because it had multiple holes in it. He advised me that the unit was 16 years old and the holes were the result of normal wear and tear on the system. The technician contacted Choice Home Warranty and advised them that the unit needed to be replaced and the cause of the malfunction of the unit was the air conditioning coil and that the malfunction was the result of normal wear and tear. I was in the room when he was talking to them. He had the representative on the speaker phone and I could hear him tell them the malfunction was the result of normal wear and tear.
The representative advised me that they were denying my claim. The basis of the denial was that the coil became corroded and/or rusted causing the malfunction and that they do not cover malfunction due to rust or corrosion. I appealed the denial of the claim this was clearly contrary to what their technician had advised.
Four days later, on September 10, 2018, I was contacted by Christina ** with Choice Home Warranty. During this time, my children and I are living in a home without air conditioning. Christina ** advised that she would assigned to my claim and that the claim was denied and the decision would not be changed. I informed her that their technician had advised me that the cause of the malfunction was normal wear and tear of the 16 year old unit. She said that the technician was no longer one of their preferred technicians and that we couldn’t go by his inspection. When I protested that the denial of my claim was not supported by the inspection, she advised me that she would send out another technician to examine the unit.
At this point, it had been one week since my unit stopped working and my two children and I were suffering in a hot home. Choice Home Warranty initially could not find another company to inspect the unit. Finally, on Thursday, September 13, 2018, the second technician examined the unit. He also found that the unit was without refrigerant. He contacted Choice Home Warranty to get authorization to perform a leak test which was necessary to diagnose the cause of the problem. Choice Home Warranty refused to authorize the test.
I contacted Christina ** the following day and she stated that it was not necessary to perform the leak test. She said that the technician did not need to determine the cause of the malfunction as it was clear the unit malfunctioned due to rust. So even though Christina ** said that the opinion of the prior technician could not trusted, she was relying upon his assessment that the coil was rusted but NOT his assessment that the cause of the holes in the coil was due to normal wear and tear. She advised that the claim was denied and she would not change the denial. She offered to "help" me by letting me buy a new unit from Choice Home Warranty and to pay their technician for installation. I declined.
I filed a complaint with the Consumer Protection Agency of my state's Attorney General's Office. In their response to my complaint, Choice Home Warranty lied to them and said they offered me $1775 in equipment and offsets to replace the unit. This company is deceptive in its practices and dishonest. What is the point of having a home warranty plan that I pay every single month if they don't cover repairs when needed. I will never use this company again and will recommend to everyone I come into contact with not to use this company.

I contacted Choice following several attempts to unjam the Garbage Disposal Unit. Booked the service online and received a response the same day stating who would respond to the claim. Repairman gave us a time window when he would arrive, and double checked on the day that we were home. He was very pleasant and had the problem fixed very quickly. All round good customer service!

I had two (3 year) warranties through Choice Home Warranty on each of our homes in Georgia. When I had an HVAC issue at my home in August I called to see if the issue was under warranty. In order for that to be determined they sent an HVAC company go out to assess the issue. They did not cover the cost of the repair but the company they sent out gave me the best price of the 4 companies from which I got estimates so I hired them to do the install.
The company turned out to be a complete fraud. They installed a unit that was supposed to be new with warranties that was actually 3 years old with no warranty. Once I realized the unit was not what it was supposed to be I had to make a fraud claim through American Express to try to recoup my money and in the process of all the investigating I found out that they are not licensed in Georgia to do business and that they failed to get a permit or an inspection from the county for their work.
Consequently, Columbia County has brought charges against the owner, who did my work, and I have been summoned to court as a witness for the county in their case against this business. I can't get anyone of substance with Choice Warranty to speak with me about this issue so I'm hoping you can get someone to contact me or to at least not to send fraudulent people to unsuspecting customer's homes!

I have been having issues with my filed claim #**. Please read the transcript of the emailed questions and responses. I filed a claim in good faith. I assumed my furnace had a bad thermostat because my system was not keeping a constant temperature. CHW dispatched Intermountain Heating & Air. The diagnosis is attached. This was ignored by your approval process. I feel I have an unsafe gas furnace operating in my home. I will not leave running unless I am in my house. The furnace had flames flash when the burner would start up. The flames hit the first technician in the face!
On 1/8/2019 I called to get an explanation of why the first diagnosis was ignored and another technician was dispatched. The customer service rep. refused to give me answers. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he gave me an address only. I asked if he had a direct supervisor and he said, "No, I work for corporate." I asked for his name and what department I was to contact. As you will see on his response, he removed his name and only gave me an address. I have been told that the thermostat is authorized to be replaced but this has yet to happen.
The new technician has yet to put it on their schedule. The new technician, Plew Heating & Air are not authorized to fix any problems with flames coming from the system. I can't get an answer to why my claim has been closed when nothing has been resolved except you have two different diagnosis. Intermountain Heating took every panel and did a complete diagnostic. Plew Heating only started the system, took only the panels off in front of the heating element. No diagnostic evaluation done.
I want to know the following: the name of the representative that gave terrible customer service on the direction from someone above him? The name of his direct supervisor? Why my claim closed with no resolution? How many diagnosis are you required to get before you accept the results? Are you allowed to ignore a diagnosis from a authorized technician? I purchased a home warranty thru Choice and was even told it didn't make any difference in the age as long as it was working. At the time my warranty was for three years at a cost of approximately 1000.00. About 14 months later my air conditioner stopped working and I called Choice. They sent someone out to look at the air conditioner and said the air conditioner was rusted due to age and wasn't under warranty. I tried to get them to pay something on it since they had originally told me age didn't matter but never received one penny from them so I canceled my contract and was given back 150.00. This company is nothing but a joke. You're better off to keep your money and pay for repairs because that's what will happen anyway.

First repairman couldn't get in. I made 2 trips to the front gate and never did make contact. Second repairman was superb. Arrived on time and immediately went to work. Unable to duplicate the problem, but we decided it had been due to a recent heavy North rain storm. Used the machine after he left - no further leaks.

I put in claim in for broken washer, the claim was quickly assigned to tech, I was given 4 hour time slot. I waited at home but the tech never showed up or called. I contacted Choice and the claim was put back out in their system, I waited a day. The claim was never reassigned so I found a repairman to come out. He gave estimate with washer needing over $500 in parts but could be much more. He was not able to handle repair because it was so extensive.
I then contacted Choice and they said that another rep would need to come out so they again but in their system it was assigned quickly to another tech but again I waited 4 hour window and they never showed up. I called them. They weren't even open on the Saturday that the claim was assigned to them. So again claim put back in system. Waited another day never picked up by a tech so I called in and after waiting on hold for over half hour was offered money to settle claim or I could again wait for another tech. I took the money but need to wait 30 days for them to send it. In the meantime I have replaced the washer.
When I signed up for this warranty I was told by salesman that I would never have to find my own tech and most claims have tech assigned quickly, this was not my experience. We will keep this warranty for this year but probably will not renew. I do have to say that every representative from Choice was very helpful and handled all of my calls. Even when I was frustrated they were very professional and empathetic which is the only reason I will give this warranty company another chance.

I have 10 policies with CHW. I need to choose my vendors. Most are awful that CHW chooses. Call me. When a landlord owns this many properties you need to responsive. When I go to your website, I have to refer to a list of my properties. I should be able to see all of them on your website, but that is not a possibility. You cater to single homeowners, not landlords. I give you lots of money. I signed up for three years on 10 properties. Can you do something to help me?

Several 20 amp breakers failed in main electrical service cabinet. Failed breakers were removed and replaced with new ones. From the time of putting in claim to repair was less than 18 hours. Very pleased with quick response and it probably would have been sooner if claim was submitted earlier in the day.

My garbage disposal motor stopped working. Plumber came the following day and replaced the garbage disposal. It only costed me $60.00 for the service. This was the first time using Choice Home Warranty and I am very pleased with their service so far.

Top spring snapped and door won't open or close. Not covered by the company plan but I understood why not covered. One thing I can say is I really liked the gentleman who fixed the door for me at a reasonable price.

False advertising and sales tactics - My washer that I bought for almost grand broke down and this company decides not to replace as promised in the contract. They gave me cost of repairing which is nowhere near the cost I paid for it or to even replace it.

Happy with the customer service. Was treated with respect. Honored my military service. Customer services broke down what the warranty covers. Offer me a cheaper rate because of my military services. He also gave a option of a 3 month payment plan other than a monthly plan for a discount rate which I done.

Garbage disposal - I called and the next day a technician came. Now we are waiting for the part to be repaired. I was hoping to hear back from the technician to schedule a replacement but I guess that process takes a little longer.

This company is terrible. Great at apologizing but terrible product. They send small companies out to repair items. Most times they don't show up on time or not at all then find a clause in their policies not to repair the items. If I could give them a zero I would and fire all the board members for ripping people off.

I filed a claim for my hot water heater not working. You weren’t able to find a technician to come out in a timely manner so I had to call someone who could come out right away since we had been out of hot water for 3 days. As a result the service call cost about $200 more than if your techs had come out so my plumbing cap for the year has been reached already. This was inexcusable. I will not be renewing my contract in August.

CHW has presently proven to me to be good business; except on one occasion I was not satisfied at all (same problem persisted after 2-3 tries on a job and had to spend for a brand new toilet myself). CHW sent someone out within a reasonable time on this occasion - never had the company before. I was satisfied with the workmanship and completion of job.

After several calls for service I have come to the realization that this company does NOT care about its customer, PLAIN AND SIMPLE. This is clear to me by my adamant request that a particular technician (company) NOT be allowed to accept my work order continued to be ignored. After advising Choice on SEVERAL occasions that this company is NOT licensed in the state of NJ to perform work, time and time again they sent this technician to my home.
But then when I call Choice to tell them I want a different technician assigned to my work order I get a COMPLETE runaround and excuses. With them finally putting my work order back out for bid, hence taking another 24 to 48 hours. All the while I have ZERO HEAT IN MY HOUSE. Choice Home Warranty is a complete joke. Oh and not to mention they actually have a cap on how much they will pay for a particular item before they cancel your contract and refund your money. Talk about a false sense of security. If you are thinking about using this company...DONT!

I have been without heat for over a week. 3 techs have came out to the house. 2 diagnosed it the same, and I am still waiting repair. The customer service has been good and attentive, including the techs, but the timing of repair has been slow.

I reported in August a washer that would not spin properly. I have had numerous visits (7) with 4 companies of which sensor and board was replaced. The last company spent 3 hours taking apart the appliance, observed the problem and declared it couldn't be repaired. I notify Choice, they put me on hold to speak with tech and come back online and say "The tech has not submitted a final diagnosis saying he is too busy right now, he was rude to me, I will report him and assign another company". I say ABSOLUTELY NOT, ENOUGH, WHO HAS TIME FOR ALL THESE SERVICE CALLS! I have paid 2 services calls, it is January and washing is still having the same problem. No resolve from CHOICE HOME WARRANTY.

Broken gate valve on water heater and leak under lavatory. Plumber that was sent out was very knowledgeable and fixed both issues in a very timely fashion!! If I have any other issue I would not hesitate to ask for the same Plumber that was sent out to me!! One Good Plumber LLC. Thumbs up!!!

The serviceman did an excellent job. He was courteous and knowledgeable. Appointment was set up in a timely manner. The serviceman arrived during the time stated. He completed the task in a timely manner. He explained what had caused the problem and how to reset the water heater if it happened again. I was pleased with service.

Service repair request for plumbing has been a nightmare. Quick to come out to see and take pictures of problems and collect the service fee then leave stating they have to wait for ok from Choice Home Warranty before they can come back to do repair. That was 1/2/19. Then Friday 1/4/19 I was told they would be out by Monday 1/7/19. Then Monday I got a call stating they would be out Wednesday 1/9/19. I had wet towels used to mop up floor and rugs that got wet from toilet overflowing twice. I put them in the washer waiting for plumbing to be fixed because when I ran my dishwasher it backed into my tub and stall shower and I didn't want that to happen again if I ran the washer.
So after 2 days the towels were smelling. So I filled the washer with hot water and added laundry soap and bleach. Well this loaded washer has been sitting for a week now. I can't believe they don't do a repair quicker than this. My towels are probably rotted from sitting in bleach water so long. How can they think this is good customer service to have a customer be waiting a week for a plumbing repair. What kind of home warranty service is that? They asked me to rate so here is my rating. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE TURN AROUND TIME. Here is the rating you asked for.

So our heater went out and we tried to run ac but compressor wouldn't turn on either. So I called...made a claim. Couldn’t find a repair person in my area to help me. Called in ac/heat company. We just purchased house and warranty. The ac unit is 24 yrs old! Has 22r compressor which has been banned by government. The whole system needs replacing. Would cost 7k to fix and upgrade. Winding around compressor shorted, coil is leaking, contactor is burned and pitted system in very bad shape. Service guy called to tell them issues. We are now denied because ac unit outside has a little rust on it! If they are gonna be picky then They shouldn’t just insure any property unless inspection is done...or tell you before you buy warranty that older homes are not ok! I have filed an appeal and have told them I want all my payments refunded! I have used other home warranties in the past w no problems...do not use this company!

I phoned 2 hrs after purchase of contract. I asked for the $15 charge for septic tank flush to be removed. When I was requesting contract I didn’t understand (septic tank flush was only for backed up system). I haven’t received a confirmation as my request.

This was a second plumbing problem I had in one week. This one went fantastic. Used Mr. Smith Plumbing. He came to my house on a Saturday, the day I called (1/5/19), and fixed my problem in 15 minutes. The first problem was a drip in my bathtub. That was a horrible experience. Plumber Co (A-1 Service) came out twice and charged me $175.00 and the drop is worse than when they started. Please don't ever use this company again. I do like that Choice is always willing to work with me if there is a problem.

HVAC quit heating while under this warranty. I thought maybe it was something minor so living in a small town I called the company who had installed the system when the house was new. That gentleman came by and did not charge me for a service call but told me that the coils had gone bad and all the Freon had leaked out. According to him they had had a lot of problems with the coils manufactured by a certain company. He said he would try to get the coils covered under warranty which was somewhere around 7 $800. I called the warranty company and explained the situation and said that I could get probably get the coils covered under the warranty from the manufacturer if they could get the labor taken care of. The lady I spoke to said that they would have to do all the work including replacing the coils and the expense of the coils. I stated that didn't make a lot of sense if they could save $700 or 800.
I was referred to a resolution manager named Sam. I had been without heat for three days and was very cold out and I explained the situation to Sam and he said, "When can the guy come and fix it?" and I said, "The parts are in and he could come tomorrow." Sam said, "Go ahead and have him come and fix it. Call me in the morning and let me know what the amount is going to be and send me a copy of the invoice tomorrow as soon as the work is done." I did exactly what I was told and Sam was not available but I gave the amount to another resolution manager and he said fine - he would give that information to Sam and to go ahead.
As soon as the work was finished I sent a copy of the invoice which is 600 some bucks to the warranty company. 2 weeks later they contacted me and said they couldn't open the attachment. I resent the information again and two weeks later they contacted me and said they couldn't open the attachment again. I said that same sort of funny because I sent the same email to my wife's email and she could open it fine. So for the third time I sent the information by another source to them. A week or so after that I got a call from young lady who said that the claim was being totally denied because I didn't have prior approval. I explained to her the whole situation and what I was told to do and the fact that I had done exactly what I was told to do and was told that it would be covered. She told me that resolution managers couldn't make any determination on whether or not something would be covered or not.
I said that seems funny. The name resolution seems like they could probably do something. She turned the claim down totally and then she started bargaining with me and said, "Well I maybe I can send you $100." I said, "I was trying to be the good guy and keep you guys from spending an extra seven or eight hundred dollars and instead you guys are trying to screw me out of $500." Since that date I have spoken to three more resolution managers and I have received nothing for this claim. I would certainly not recommend this company to my worst enemy.

I called about the opener not keeping proper programming. Within a few hours, I received a callback. A contractor would be on site the next day between the hours of 11am and 3pm. The contractor called the next day in the am to advise me Wesson World would be there between noon and 3pm. Wesson World arrived and immediately took charge and replaced the circuit board on the unit. Everything's works great now!

Waiting on parts to be ordered to repair my stove. Washer was repaired and seems to be fine at this point. He did say he should be back over the weekend to repair the stove with the parts needed however I have not heard from him as of yet. I was a little skeptical about letting him in because he arrived in a personal vehicle. After letting him in, he was very respectful.

Repair of two toilets - The young man that did the repairs did excellent work. The person that was supervising him stayed outside except for two brief times and he tracked mud into my bathrooms and on my area carpets. The young man apologized for him and cleaned the areas for me. The work was done well and in a timely manner.

I filled out a claim online on 12/30/18 and a serviceman was out to take a look at the issue I was having. It was my heat/ac panel thermostat, which was responding correctly. CHW granted the service company to put in a new one. The serviceman stayed for a while and checked to make sure the new thermostat was working correctly.

I filed a claim and still waiting on service since Dec. 8, 2018. They have set appointment up and I took off three different times to have these people cancel saying they do not use them because they do not pay. I finally have a company come out two different days ready to work but the authorization line has to answer phone and give authorization number and they did not answer making hard to be serviced. So they decided, "Oh we will do online too" and nothing yet. Still waiting. I feel they unprofessional and need to retrain their staff I have dealt with.

I was told that Kennedy Plumbing would come between 7:00 AM and 11:00 AM. I changed my appointment schedule and I called Kennedy Plumbing to confirm the service time, At 10:00 AM I recalled the service company and left a message to indicate that I would be home. At noon, I called again and I spoke with the operator and was told that the plumber would be at my home shortly. At 1:30 a service tech arrived. I asked if the work created a problem? The service was completed but no explanation of the tardiness was explained. The tech said that Choice should not give a time period for work to be completed. Should be given the customer. The plumber did not check to see if I was satisfied. Clean up was not completed to my satisfaction. I asked the plumber to use an auger but was told that it wasn't necessary?

I created an online request to get my microwave repaired. Choice Home Warranty scheduled a technician visit within hours. The service technician arrived on scheduled time and got my microwave fixed. We had an appointment for 01/04/2019 7.00 'til 11.00. We had to have our mother in law come over at 6.30 am to house sit. By 11.10 nobody showed up. So when I called the number on my e-mail they had no ideal what I was talking about, showed no appt. Needless to say they got it straighten out and the tech did show up at 1.15 pm, my mother in law is 80 years old and had to drive 15 miles to get here only to sit and wait. Not a good 1st time experience for us.

The workers were absolutely wonderful, very efficient and friendly. They took care of the problem, and they installed a new disposal. I was thrilled with the service and outcome of my claim.

My A/C heat does not come on and I emailed Choice Warranty. I got a reply within 10 minutes with the appointment. I had just pass my 30 grace period. I'm thankful that I had purchased the coverage from Choice. I did not expect that my heat to go out. Great response time!!!

I called around 8:30 on January 2, 2019 to schedule a repair of my heating system. The representative that I spoke with told me someone would contact me within 24 hours to schedule a service call. I indicated that we live in Kansas need heat. I did not receive a call until about 5:30 that day with information that an appointment had been made with a local company for January 7! I called the repair company the next morning, January 3 and the person indicated that when they received the call, it was very late & they were not sure if they could get me working in on the next day & and lady from Choice just said to go ahead and make an appointment for Monday, January 7 then. 5 days with overnight temperatures in the 20's was not acceptable especially when I had indicated I would appreciate prompt service because of this.
This was my first claim with Choice. The warranty company I had previously always had a call in for repair and I always received a call from them within 2 hours from the time I submitted a claim. I certainly hope that any future claims that I may have will be handled in a much more timely manner and I also expect to hear from Choice regarding my dissatisfaction regarding this experience.

My repair as stated on my Request for Repair said "Garage Door Remote". I needed my Garage DOOR repaired. The company Choice chose for my repair was about 55-60 miles from my home! I can't see how the company chosen could possibly make any money with that far a trip for them. I would suggest to Choice to look for zip codes closer to the area being serviced.
The repair needed for my garage door needed to be ordered. The wait time may be as long as 3-5 days (not Choice's fault). However, I am 79 years old, live alone and need my car for appointment, shopping, etc. I certainly do not like to leave my car on the street. Again, not Choice's fault. I can only hope that the repair person is able to order the correct part on his phone immediately... Is this the case? This repair, if and when completed, will cause the repair company to travel at least 200 miles. I am hoping this is not the only garage door repairer in the Phoenix AZ area! I'm sure my door will be repaired. However, I think Choice needs to choose repair companies in the vicinity of the repair. Thanks for listening.

I chose the reimbursement option. When the plumbers got here and assessed the problem, I called to get an authorization. I was on hold for about 45 minutes before my call was answered. THAT IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!! The plumbers could do nothing until I got the authorization. I felt so for the plumbers. Time is money for them!!! You need to have more people taking calls.

Dryer Repair - Very pleased with the service we received. When a local technician did not promptly respond to address the issue, we were offered the alternative of locating our own technician and being reimbursed for the service. We opted to wait as it was over the holiday and understood a technician would be hard to fine. Once the holiday was over, a technician was immediately scheduled. The technician was very knowledgeable, courteous and did a satisfactory repair.

Choice Warranty sent Loyalty Plumbing to fix the leaking toilet and they arrived at the scheduled time, determined the problem almost immediately and had the problem resolved with 30 to 45 minutes. Very pleased with the response from Choice Warranty and the service provided by Loyalty Plumbing. Would definitely recommend both companies.

The part was no longer available so I was offered a settlement that was half of what a new machine will cost. The phase, "Fix it or replace it" is a false statement. Will not recommend your company. I have always used American Home Shield and will go back to them.

Our heater was cutting off after being on for a short time. The guys you sent out said we needed a new heater because the one we had was too big for the space it was in. We called Home Depot and they sent out a installer and he said we needed a bigger return. He said our heater was fine. He is going to fix the problem by putting a bigger return in our wall. He said it would take about 3 hr to 5 hrs to do.

At first it seemed like a fluke but the repair person was willing to discuss what I experienced and from that conversation realized what had really happened. Instead of just assuming maybe it would not happen again, he put in a new part to replace the part that failed.

The tech who came to my home shared that my dishwasher was not an issue but the plumbing was an issue. He said that he could not fix the problem and that a plumber would have to come out. After calling in to Choice Home Warranty several times, I was constantly asked to renew my policy. A salesperson hung up in my face when I told him that I would not renew until my issue was resolved. The customer reps were of no help with my problem but insisted that I pay TWO service technicians after I had already told them the problem before the FIRST tech person even arrived. I will NEVER recommend this company and I don't plan on renewing either. They have horrible customer service and there is no reconciling for the customers.

I was charged $250.00 to repair PVC plumbing plus the $45.00 service fee. The plumbers did not replace any galvanized plumbing yet repair PVC plumbing. I complained to the plumbers about the cost. It was $350.00 for 1 hour repair job. Communication between subcontractor and your company is very poor. This company was nice however I feel they were wanting money now.

I absolutely love Choice Home Warranty. The premiums are great! However, the service may not be as expeditious as others and understandably so, due to keeping low cost premiums down. The job does get done. If Choice Home Warranty makes an error, they will do everything to make one whole. In my estimation, they are the best and I've used other home warranty companies.

This is my own experience. Stay far away from purchasing the Choice Home Warranty. Most of the claims you make are not included based on their own handbook. They cover the pieces that they never break. I bought the warranty from Choice company and my brother bought it from Sears. Totally different experience. If you want to buy one buy it from Sears.

Repair of heating unit. Bennett Electric Company was very prompt contacting me and coming to repair the unit. The Technicians found the unit was not connecting with the thermostat because the Electric Panel showed that it had thrown the circuit leading to the unit. The unit was working when they left, but never came back on. I asked them before they left, would I be able to call them back if the unit continue to not work. I was told not to call them because CHW refuse to pay repairs to their Company. So, I am going to have to pay full price to get the repairs needed so I can have heat in my house plus $85.00 for nothing! $40.00 premium for this month, which means, I have to drop your Company ASAP.

They came the 1st day took pictures of the problem, collected the $60fee and still nothing is fixed and no appt set as to when they will be back to fix the problem. I can't run my washer, or dishwasher, or take a shower cause I'm afraid it will back up into my shower or bathtub. One more thing the company that came out was an air conditioning and heating company for a plumbing issue.

Garage Door Opener - Filed claim online, within moments received call from John ** - owner/Innovative Door Systems setting appoint. for following day. John determined opener needed to be replaced, Choice Warranty approved replacement. Installed new opener within 2 days. Excellent fast service. This was my 1st claim and I'm surprised at how positive the experience was. Submitted online and got an appointment next day, technician showed up was very polite and knowledgeable. Head heard horror stories about home warranties in the past but was very pleasantly surprised. Thank you.

Think I 1st called on 12/27... Claim could not be done till 1/3. That's too long to wait for a washer repair.... Would have liked it to be taken care of in 1--2 days. Service guy came yesterday. Parts need to be ordered. Why can't they carry some major parts on their truck.

Great customer service, very attentive to what they need is and mostly they listen. I am getting an amount to help purchase a new washer, I believe that it is fair for the equipment. Please always understand that there are no companies in business to lose money, there are fair with pricing to get you a basic item, not a top of the line one. Overall I like this company it has done right by me, I just extended my warranty for another 3+ years.

Water line break - Plumber was out when they said and fixed it in about an hour. I was pleased with the overall performance. Wasn't on hold very long either. Usually a big delay. Operator was courteous and helpful.

Tony was very helpful to me, and was very courteous. He definitely talked me into Choice. I was impressed that he even gave me his own extension to contact him. You should know that caller ID shows these calls as "telemarketing," so I didnt answer the first call. I only answered his call because I guessed it was Choice since I had filled out my info on the website, just looking for more info.

I’ve filed three claims and every time. They find a way to say it’s not covered! A/C went out and needed to be replaced. $7000, compressor was leaking. They claim representative coerced the a/c tech into saying there was rust/corrosion present on the unit, to which voids coverage. I spoke to several a/c companies and they all said that ALL A/C’s have rust or corrosion on them due to moisture in the air. This is total BS! They find any way they can to avoid paying your claim! Don’t waste your money!

So I had received this call from 1 of your Agents named Jimmy **, very aggressive, rude & disrespectful, he asked for Regina, I told him I was MS. **, after I told him to call me MS. ** he still called me Regina, if you are calling someone's house, how can you ask for Regina, so I told him I was a senior, so he said, "You don't sound like a senior," so what does a senior supposed to sound like, I should have done what I did with a previous man named Walter, he kept calling me Regina, so I hung up, I told him I was in the middle of booking a flight, he did not care, he kept on talking or reading his script. I don't know.
Anyway I was on the phone with him for over 20 minutes, & I got more uncomfortable by the minute, & like an Idiot to get him off the phone I gave him my CC, then I said well just cancel the whole transaction, but he said my CC was already charged but I have 30 days to cancel, & it wouldn't take a long time to credit my CC back, so here I am within my 30 days, & I am cancelling my service contract with your company as of today 1-3-2019, & I don't ever want to receive another call from you, if I would decide to do any kind of business with you I will call you, these 2 experiences with 2 of your agent has me very upset, & very uncomfortable, so credit the $140.00 back into my account, & hopefully just as fast as it took to charge my account.

We had a very positive experience with Choice Home Warranty in fixing our leak under the sink. We turned in the problem, within an hour, we had a call from the plumber stating when he would be there to give us an estimate. He came right on time, called CHW stated the problem, got approval, and fixed our leak. There was no damage because they were efficient in tending to the matter immediately!

Had a HVAC TECH look at my furnace that was heating, but wouldnt shut off. After looking at it he said it a bad relay... ONE. Well he submitted that it had 4 bad relays and 3 burnt heating elements and because of it they wouldn't cover the repair. So he either lied right to my face or submitted a bogus claim so he wouldn't have to do the repair. Either way I was furious over this, Choice said that the furnace was broken before I signed up, which it wasnt. I canceled my policy and will NEVER recommend them to anyone.

Choice Home Warranty is well known for their low price. What they are also known for is trying to get out replacing/ repairing and/ or negotiating a lower price for what they already cover. I'm a 22 year licensed real estate agent. I've reviewed home warranty contracts over and over and over. I personally chose Choice Home Warranty because they negotiated with me to purchase a 3 year home warranty, priced over $1000 in exchange for repairing only the fan motor on my A/C Condensing unit. I won't get into it in detail, but on a second call for the repair/replacement of my dishwasher going bad they wanted to replace my expensive dishwasher that I paid $1800 with a $300 low end unit. Again, I had to settle with a unit that was less than $500 with far less power and features as my original unit, not to mention it no longer matches any other appliances I own. I dealt with it and moved on.
This leads me to 12.30.18, the WATER HEATER bursts. This is probably why many of my clients get a home warranty, but this also happens to your trusted real estate agents, like myself, who are consumers just like you. So, Choice Home Warranty is called to the rescue and their service provider Plumber comes out and says the entire water needs replacement there's a leak somewhere in the unit and it's not repairable. Plumber contacts the Choice Home Warranty and they say they will not cover it, end of story. Plumber voluntarily said Choice Home never cover water heaters. I was taken back. Excuse me!! The first thing that went through my mind was, Why did I even call Choice Home Warranty? And why did the plumber not tell me they probably won't cover the unit if it's leaking from inside the tank? The plumber's answer was, "we wouldn't get calls from the home warranty company if we did that".
According to Section D6 of the Service Agreement, excluded are Holding and Storage Tanks. They keep it real vague so they can screw you on this. Please understand a Holding and Storage is not the water heater by any plumbers opinion or other reputable Home Warranty Companies. I've contacted the 5 top Home Warranty Companies and our local area representatives and all said the same. The water heater is separate from a Holding & Storage Tank. That makes sense. In Nevada where I am located I don't see too many Holding and Storage Tanks unless you're located on a large property or a luxury home that has special requirements. I'm live in a 3 bed/ 2.5 bath, 1500 sq ft. home. A humble home with only one water heater in the corner of my garage. Holding and Storage Tanks, I don't even know what they are.
Spoke to a Kianna first and she sounded like a robot reading from a script as I calmly asked why they don't cover it. Asked her really non trivial questions on how they define D6 of the Service Agreement, because nowhere do I see why it's not covered. I ended up escalating to a Manager at another site location. The manager, Andy, had no idea who Kianna was but seemed like Andy is the person where you stop because he's the guy that really enforces the "NO it's not covered" portion of the policy. See on page 3 of the Contract it clearly states the WATER HEATER is covered, which is just below the $1050 I spent for the policy. Seems clear as day that it's covered right? But let's read on, Page 8, Section D #6 it says "All components and parts, including circulating pumps, except:
EXCLUDED: Access - insulation blankets-pressure reducing valves- Sediment build up - Rust and corrosion - Main, Holding Storage tanks - vents and flues - Thermal expansion tanks - Lowboy and/or Squat water heaters - Solar Water Heaters - Solar components - Fuel, holding or stage tanks - Noise - Energy management systems - Commercial Grade equipment and units exceeding 75 gallons - Drain pans and drain lines - tankless water heaters. Here are the components of a gas water heater: The Tank, Dip Tube, and Discharge Pipe. The biggest component to your gas water heater is the tank. The Gas Burner and Assembly. With a gas water heater, the heat source is a gas burner. The Exhaust Flue... The Pressure Relief Valve and the Drain Valve.
Take note that nothing is covered with a Water Heater they claim to say they cover, but don't and they will try to tell you that what the plumber says is not covered. Of those 5 home warranty companies I've mentioned previously, all have the same language for water heater. And, all cover water heaters when water leaks or in need of repair with the exceptions of any extra added permitting as most water heaters need anyway. In addition, it was confirmed I had not rust or corrosion either so again, why isn't my water heater covered under my policy.
You will find yourself calling customer service and denying the water heater is not covered. They will listen to you complain and they will confirm and hold to their absolutely vague policy that if the water heater is leaking from the actual unit then it's not covered. A water heater is one unit, if it leaks from the unit itself and not from some exterior connection like gas or water lines there's almost a 100% chance you have to replace the water heater. Do not buy a home warranty from Choice Home Warranty.

I purchased CHW in 2017 and just had my first experience in filing a claim with them. They were prompt in dispatching a technician, who quickly found the problem. The technician was polite, friendly and professional, and represented CHW well.

Shower head in bathroom, pipe broke off inside of wall. We called that morning and it was fixed by 5 o'clock that day. The gentleman at Choice Home Warranty was very helpful to us. We hope we don't have to call again, but if we do we know that everything will be handled very professionally. The company that they send out was very nice and very professional. I would highly recommend Choice Home Warranty to friends and family.

I do not understand how this company has such raving reviews. My dishwasher was not working and they sent a technician to repair it. When it was going to be more to repair they then offered me $179.99 to replace it. First you cannot purchase a new dishwasher for this amount. When I explained this to them they asked me how much I wanted. I did not want money, I wanted them to replace the dishwasher. What good is a home warranty if you have to do the work yourself. I have dealt with many home warranty companies and none of them have ever pulled this one! They ended up giving me $302.00 but I am still going to have someone come install the dishwasher or do it myself. On top of that I have to wait 20 days before they release the check. This is by far the worst home warranty company I have ever dealt with! I will be canceling my policy and going with someone else.

Garbage disposal and plumbing problem with toilet - I was without a garbage disposal for 2 weeks, while CHW tried to find a company fix both items. Unacceptable. They finally told me to find a company on my own. It was a terrible experience. I will be sending a bill for my toilet that I finally had to pay for out of my own pocket. We will see how that goes.

Horrible company. I am having issues with two toilets at my house. I called them and placed a claim. Technician came to my house, sent them the diagnostic that the toilets will need to be replaced although this is a cover items on my contract. They turned around and approved $130 for the technician to unclog my main line that has nothing to do with the technician diagnostic. Will cancel my membership with them. Horrible company. Scam

I spoke with Jason about possibly obtaining another Home Warranty. I had been with another home warranty company for years and they had really done a number on me when my AC went out in as much as they didn't fix my AC for 39 days (It is brutally hot in Houston). I feel real good about what he told me. Of course I am still a little skeptical (especially after being with AHS for 15+ yrs and getting the poor customer service I received), but Jason gave me reassurance that Choice handles their business correctly. A home warranty is a great concept and I feel good that Choice will be a great "choice" for me and my family.

The first agent on the phone with me was extremely rude and ignorant and told me that he didn’t want me as a customer with Choice Warranty! It seem like he became aggravated with me when I asked him a question about the plumbing coverage. I wish I would’ve gotten his name I definitely would have called and spoke with a manager. I did receive a phone call later on. It was a different person who was much more pleasant to deal with.

I have nothing negative to say. Brittney was very helpful and informative, she explained other options that are available for me to use and I appreciated that. I would definitely recommend Choice to others and Brittney's customer service was outstanding. I couldn't have asked for a better representative.

Washer leaking from bottom - This is only one of a number of claims I submitted that had to be submitted multiple times before the assigned company's technician would come out to investigate, and had to be call by Choice Home Warranty to get the repair done. Currently, I am not a happy camper!

I was told I could communicate via email with the person I originally spoke with to send proof of my current home warranty company to void the 30 day waiting period but could not email him as the email address would not accept my emails.
