    I will be very fair. I called for service for my hvac. A service came out and said it was electrical and he couldn't do anything. Paid $45. You assigned an electrical contractor who came out and said it was hvac problem, with compressor. And he couldn't do anything. Paid him $45. The hvac person you reassigned to come back, waited for approval to repair based on the findings of both contractors. Then I received a email saying you would not cover it, because it didn't seem like "normal wear and tear, but rather an unusual failure to a system that shouldn't have failed before it's time to normally fail.

    The explanation, was so in depth that only a hvac contractor with a law degree could dispute this ridiculous reason for not covering this repair. The system has not been abused. It has been used in a normal fashion, was working very well all through the year and before and up until several days before the call in. It is the kind of repair that one considers when purchasing a home warranty service in the first place.

    The warranty is touted as giving you peace of mind, that if something fails due to normal wear and tear, whether major or minor, it will be covered. That is the reason I have the service. Not for the tiny little things, but for the bigger. Its an insurance policy. BUT... the one time, it turns out that my otherwise perfectly running hvac, has a issue that is more than minor. You find some gobbly gook nonsense reason to not cover it. What's the point of having the service. This system did not breakdown, because it was abused - it's just broke, that's what systems do, that is why we have a service to cover these things. Otherwise, what's the point. I will file a claim to appeal, because this determination, makes no sense except, as an excuse to not have to pay for the repair.

    I wish for our first claim we could give this company a better review, however, there isn't anything good to put. We called on a Friday, understanding that in 24 hours a plumbing co would be calling us. Come Saturday evening, no call, we called to check status, and they stated they were still working on it, on Sunday evening, no call, Monday no call, mind you we checked in with the company daily, never did they tell us or let us know they were still working on it. Tuesday we called a plumber ourselves, and it was fixed in a hour. We will be reimbursed 45.00 after 45 days. Just very frustrating have to make all the calls when we pay them to help us.

    I have called several times when using the website wouldn’t have solved the problem. On 2/2, I called and spoke to a very personable and caring rep. Subsequently because the company that was supposed to come out didn’t show up or call, I needed to call again on 2/4. The first female I spoke to before getting discounted was very pleasant and sincerely tried to help me. The second and last female reps that I spoke to were rude and wouldn’t listen to me because they were just repeating what I had already heard. Thankfully, a company came out on the morning of 2/5. He fixed the problem thoroughly so I will not have to deal with rude reps, again.

    I went with Choice Home Warranty after receiving a flyer from my Credit Union. Isaac, the sales rep, told me I could use my own technicians. I quickly found out this was not entirely true. Our thermostat went out and I called to make a claim. After fighting with them for three days, I had our own technician come out. He fixed it and charged me nothing, the kind of relationship you develop when you use a company for 13 years. Right after he left, Choice called up and authorized the use of my own technician (it did require a call and involvement of Isaac, the guy who sold me the warranty). I told the claims agent, "Thank you for nothing. Over 2 days with no AC in the summer - great service."

    Our policy comes up for renewal in about a month (March). In November I started getting emails to renew. In January the phone calls started. About 2 weeks ago, on a Friday, we noticed a layer of ice around our heat pump and everything inside frozen over. I called our technician hoping it was something easy. The system had just had its semi-annual maintenance check. Bad news - Compressor has finally had it. I then called Choice to place a claim. The claims representative did not like the diagnosis and wanted to know the Freon level. The technician pointed out the compressor would not run so you cannot check it, but the level was fine when checked a few weeks earlier. Then the claims representative wanted to know if there was a leak. The technician looked at me, asked if the claims representative was an idiot, and then proceeded to again explain the compressor was shot so you cannot test it.

    The claims representative decide they wanted me to pay for a Choice selected representative to come out. He came out the following Tuesday and informed me I had a bad compressor. It would cost around $2500 to replace it, which should be covered by the warranty. Since the system was 13 years old and R-22 will be in limited supply starting in 2020, he recommended replacing it. (They have since sent me a quote of about $9700 for a new system.)

    Choice informed me the warranty requirement is only to repair or replace the system (their choice) not to upgrade. Somehow they determined it would only cost them $700 to replace the compressor. Even their technician said no way for that amount. Last Thursday offered to let me put that towards a new system. At this point it is with an “adjuster”, the claims folks say she has to handle it and they can do nothing. Frankly, if Choice can repair it for $700, get out and repair it. What I was told was actually that was all they would pay towards repair, if it cost more than it was my problem. Really, where is that in the contract?

    She called me Thursday and left a message. I called back immediately and got her voice mail. I got it three more times Thursday, four times Friday, seven times Monday and two more times Tuesday. She then called me and left a voicemail. I called her right back and left a couple more voicemails. Today, after a couple more phone calls, I called claims and asked for a supervisor. He informed me I had to talk with the adjuster and he would send her an email, but she has 24 hours to respond. I pointed out it had been SEVEN DAYS! What happened to customer service. We are coming up on 2-weeks without heat, several of those days have been below zero. I can not recommend this company. They receive one star because the system requires it, not because they were that good!

I called the man who came to the house and the company and no one took my calls. I left messages and did not hear from anyone.     Took four days before technician could arrive for a dead refrigerator. Took additional five days before repairs were approved. Estimate is currently at least an additional seven days to receive parts and who knows how long after before they can be installed. This is over two weeks for a device that can’t keep food cold for longer than 12 hours and cost me hundreds of dollars to replace. While I can understand most other devices taking this much time, I find this time frame totally inadequate and I should been made the offer to purchase a replacement refrigerator within a day.

    Shortly after my wife and I purchased a home, the garage door opener failed. I called Choice Home Warranty about the situation, and actually had an appointment set up to fix the issue before I got off of the phone. Due to extreme weather conditions in my area, I agreed with the repair company to move back my appointment. When the people from the repair company arrived at my house, I was very pleased. Angel and Jim from King Garage Doors went above and beyond with respect to their service. They explained to me how the home insurance policy worked, installed an upgraded garage door opener, and even adjusted another garage door opener that I have (for I have a three car garage) without asking or charging a fee.     Called CHW for a quote and plan options. Representative was knowledgeable but I was a little upset because of a misunderstanding and it seems like I was being rushed to make a decision. As we started to communicate more, the representative apologize and we got an understanding between each other. I was happy with the representative and how hard he was willing to work to find me the right plan with the right price.     To anyone considering buying a home warranty, please do not buy Choice Home Warranty. It is a freaking joke! They don't cover anything when it comes to plumbing problems! Example: On December 21, 2019, my water softener had a full on resin blowout which caused damage to the water-heater and water lines through my home. So, I had no water access for four days before X-mas. I called Choice Home Warranty, and they told me the soonest they could get someone to my house would be on December 24th, three days later. So, I would have to go without water for three days in my home. I asked if they would reimburse me if I found different company that could respond, and they said yes I could submit for reimbursement.

    So, rather than go without water for three days, I decided to find an available plumber (Pure Plumbing) to fix the problems. In all, the bill was $3,200.00 dollars, and choice offered to pay $500.00. A ** joke! It wasn't even enough to cover the cost of the water softener or the water heater, or the other plumbing repairs. Oh, and when I spoke with one of their adviser, he said they only cover some of the electrical items on the water heater, not the tank! What an absolute joke! Furthermore, they would not cover anything else with regards to the plumbing cost. It seemed to me they only cover things that don't break, or if they do break, it is a low cost item.

    Also, this warrant company only deals with useless low budget companies! The adviser showed no concern that my family was without water! They made no attempt to get another company to respond within a 24 hours period. Considering I live in Las Vegas, a 24 hours city with dozens of plumbing companies here, I am sure they could have found someone! So don't waste your money. You would be better off saving it for expenses rather than pay these online thieves! Additionally, the customer service people are absolute imbeciles! If English was their second language, I would be surprised! When I called to challenge the denied claim, they played the pass around game! Or they just kept telling me the some ** thing over and over! "They don't cover that particular item" i.e. the tank on the water heater or the water softener, or lines, etc. Again, don't waste your money on this useless warranty!

    I'm sticking with Choice because their rates are low, and even though they don't cover some things that my other company would have, I'm hoping by saving money each year, if I happen to need those Services it will be a wash. If you're considering Choice though, just know that when you come up for renewal they will bombard you with emails and phone calls, starting four months before you are even due. For my most recent renewal, 36 emails and 11 phone calls. I've been told they will take me off the list but only time will tell if that actually happens. When I do have a reason to use them, I'm happy with them.

    Furnace wasn't heating. Called CHW early Friday afternoon. Someone was scheduled the NEXT day! I waited, my window was 12-3. No call, no show. I called the repairman, no answer and voicemail was full. I texted the man, no reply. Called CHW, they tried contacting the repairman and again no answer. They called another company and they had scheduled for Monday! I called the new company as I needed Heat Now! They couldn't come Saturday, but came out Monday and fixed the issue in 30 minutes!!

    Shower valve failure. I was unhappy for several reasons: Choice could not find a plumber for over 3 days. It required my efforts to find a plumber. Buckeye Plumbing was here to diagnose the problem. We waited for over an hour on hold and never had the choice technician respond. We then got requested a callback. By that time we received the callback, the plumber had left the premises. We had to have the plumber return and speak with him on his mobile phone.

    This company has denied AC claims. I went 2 & 1/2 months without a washer and was told every time, “we are not an emergency service!” So if you want your home systems working asap, do not sign up for this company. The first day, the tech only diagnoses the problem. Then it takes two weeks or more for the tech to come back to fix the problem.

    Last year I switched warranty company and what a mistake that was. About 2 months after contract went to effect our ac unit stopped working and long story short CHW did not pay for replacement because it was too short a time on the contract for them to honor repairs and they claimed the unit was not in working condition when contract took effect. I was appalled and even the contractor could not believe the decision and said the unit stopped working because of normal wear and tear. I will never recommend this company to anyone. They do not like to replace unrepairable items.

    Submit the claim for leaking under kitchen sink, the technician came and said the faucet not covered by Choice Home Warranty and he offered his own faucet for $325! So what’s the point having a combo home warranty if even just the faucet not covered! So he just took the service call $60 and left! Ridiculous! So I submit an appeal to manager! The manager very rude! And called that the faucet not covered and we have to pay $150 just for the faucet! They should let me know that the claim I submitted not covered before they sent someone and just took the service call doing nothing!     CHW decided NOT to repair my 2013 Samsung 4.5 capacity washer with steam cycles because it is "not cost effective." Under the policy, CHW has the right to decide to repair or replace. CHW has a unique definition of "replace." Was offered $450.00 as a replacement value. After a somewhat frustrating conversations with a Case Manager, accepted $550.00 to replace the Samsung 4.5 capacity washer with steam cycles that today costs well over a $1,500.00 to replace. Ironically, the repair cost (to replace one part that holds the rear of the drum including labor) is $560.00. I could NEVER get an answer to the question of what brand of washer with the same features cost $450.00 to $550.00. Just kept being told, "Sir, you are not listening to me. We do not replace a brand, color, or style, just comparable features." NEVER was able to get a comparable machine reference that cost only $550.00.

    I submitted a claim on 1/16. Choice had to find a contractor to address my issue. I told them that I had to be out of town and would have to my Dad sit at the house for the plumber. The plumber called and said they would be at my house second stop. They didn't get there until after 5:00 that night and was told that they had emergencies come up. I asked why mine wasn't an emergency since I had water leaking in my house. They replaced two water lines they said were leaking. I told them I didn't think that was the problem because there wasn't water coming from the water lines. It was coming from the floor. Plumber said, “Yep you have a drain problem” and left. I called Choice and Choice said that they denied the Claim because of rust but this one time they would go ahead and pay for it. I said that's fine but the problem isn't fixed. The agent said, “Ok I'll send you the money and you can find someone to fix the problem.”

    I then asked what about the money owed to the plumber who came out. He said if they didn't fix the problem I wouldn't pay them. I eventually got assigned a claim manager who said that we would need to do a recall and get the original problem fixed. Plumber called back and said, “You'll be our second stop.” Waited until almost 6 o'clock before they got there. They had emergencies come up. Water still leaking. This was a week after the original claim. They "fixed" the problem and left. Next day the sink backed up and then started leaking from one of their connections. Called them back out. “We'll get there as soon as we can.” 6 o'clock. Tightened all the connections and said that should do it. Next morning while washing dishes I hear water dripping. Call the plumber and was told, “Well I don't understand what is going on. We tightened everything and we are booked up for the day.”

    I called in another plumbing company that said I would have issues from now on because the job wasn't done right unless everything was removed and done right. I called Choice, because the plumber said that Choice wasn't going to pay to fix the leak, to see if we could figure something out. I said that these are the people that you sent to my home to do the work. Choice said, “You could have picked someone else.” I said, “No you told me I would have to do a recall so that the plumbers could address the original claim.” Choice said, “Yes we did.” I said, “Now I'm going to have to pay out of my pocket to get the problem fixed and pay the plumbers that you sent to my house and didn't fix the problem.” Choice said that it is not their responsibility to pay for negligence due to contractors.

    It has been two weeks. I still can't use my kitchen sink because it still leaks. I'm having to pay to get it fixed. Choice is sending me a check for $226 for the original work that didn't need to be done. I said, “I want to cancel my warranty because if these are the kind of contractors you use it's a waste of my money.” Choice said if I cancel they won't send me to $226 check. I originally chose Choice because the reviews said that they were the best. They aren't. I've had better luck from American Home Shield. I guess it's like everyone says, Home warranties are a waste of money.

    I would never recommend using this company. We have had Choice Home Warranty for about 6 months or so. We have made 3 separate service calls. Exactly $0.00 and 0% of our needs have been covered. Most recently we had a leak in our hot water heater. The company sent out by Choice determined the leak was from the tank and it needs to be replaced. Despite the fact that our plan covers hot water heaters, Choice denied the claim because “CHW is not responsible for main, holding, or storage tanks”. What then is the point! Do not believe what they tell you over the phone about the great coverage. Read the fine print. Their lists of exclusions are long.

    On the 23nd of Jan 19 I called to report a stopped up toilet and tub. A company was assigned and an appointment was scheduled by e-mail (no phone was received) that someone would arrive on the 24th. Late afternoon on the 24th two individuals showed up and started to work, they worked for about 15 minutes and was unable to complete the job and had to return to the shop to get another piece of equipment.

    Once they returned after 25 minutes later, they worked for about another 15 minutes, they had not completed the job. I was told that they only had an hour to work, I stated, "You were gone for some of the time," and they stated that it was included in the hour. I called your service desk and was not very happy and asked why they couldn't finish the job. I was told that your company had reviewed my claim and only assigned for one hour of work. The lady I talked to stated she would take care of the problem.

    No one showed up Friday or the weekend to fix the problem. Monday morning, no phone calls, nothing. I checked my e-mail later and saw an e-mail from your company, which stated that the company was contacted and was given the approval to finish the job. I called the company and they stated that no one had contacted them. So I called your company again, after about 45 minutes on the phone I finally was told that approval was provided. So I called the company back and told them, they stated that they haven't heard anything yet. The lady told me she would call your company and get the approval.

    About an hour later I received a call stating they had the approval and she call the plumber. She called back in about hour and appointment is scheduled for this afternoon.     Kitchen sink leak. I called in a claim on Jan 16 or there about and agent was good. Said the contractor would be at my house on Tuesday the 22nd. He was a no show. No call to say why. So on the 25th I called back and was told the contractor would call me within 15 minutes to reschedule. That did not happen. So on the 26th I called back and the agent put me on the line with the contractor who seemed to not be concerned that he was a no show, no call for my claim. Again your agent was trying.

    The contractor did show up on Saturday the 26th for an inspection. He said I need a new garbage disposal and had to get approval. Your company sent me a email saying he would be back on Saturday 26th between 3 and 8 to install. He did not show. I do not know when this might happen. Any insight to this would be helpful. You denied the second claim I guess because he was unable to repair. It is a water leak in upstairs master bathroom on a bidet. Which is a type of toilet. Leak is on the pipe that comes out of wall not the fixture itself. So he said he was a plumber and that is the type of contractor it will take. So I don’t have much confidence in your choice of contractor.

    Technician came to my house JAN 23, 2019, to look at my oven that would not heat up. He also noticed a crack in the glass door and told me he would check to see if this could be fixed as well. I did not ask him to do this. He determined the oven needed a part or parts that had to be ordered and this was the last I heard from him. I got a claim determination that the oven thermal fuse has failed and this repair was approved. The glass was not covered. The broken glass is understand it not being covered, but I need my oven and no one has contacted me.

    I just purchased my home in Aug and called for the first time this month, we have very nice appliances the kind that don't usually give a problem and we take care of our things. However things happen the washer started to leak and the refrigerator started to make a sound and we have a ductless unit that wasn't heating but would cool. Now 2 days in this has become a disaster I made a claim for all 3 the first tech didn't return my call then texted me to say they were sick and then cancel the service call. This was for the washer and refrigerator. Then another service provider was reassigned and I was given a date Thur 24th I wouldn't be available so I call and rescheduled with the tech went online and called the CHW to note the change.

    Apparently the CHW rep didn't update the claim and the tech arrived on the original date the 24th after sending me a email and noting my account that he would arrive monday the 28th. CHW rep noting on my account I missed the appointment. So I called CHW again to get things straighten out still being polite. CHW managed to set another appointment. Ok at this point not to confuse you it wasn't the tech he was only going by what CHW rep was sending him which was different than what I was getting. This happened again finally I got a date asked for confirmation email called tech asked for confirmation. Guess what got a new email yep you guessed it changed again. Oh did I forget about the cool and heat unit... Yeah about the same thing except they told me it was covered on my warranty and it's not but I did see a tech late like 4 hours late and then he said "Oh we don't work on those."

    So I call CHW back the rep confirms it's not covered. Then guess what I get a text saying. We have scheduled you a appointment (this happen twice) for Jan 29 for your heat and air system this is after I got off the phone with the rep like 10 mins prior. So I started this at 7am and ended at 7:10pm which is when I tried to call back to let them know hey you made a mistake again guess what they were closed 12 hours of my life. I will never get back never. They are not open 24/7 unless you consider the online site. Cancellation of the warranty is not anything you will not get your money back on unless you do it within 30 days and then you are charged a $50 fee.

    Looking for a corporate phone number good luck I never found one. I'm in Tennessee not sure that matters. I was going to recommend them to my mother for her 2 homes but nope not now. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Just to let you folks know this is too crazy to make up. I'm just an average person trying to let people know the truth. I honestly don't know where all the good reviews come from unless i'm just that 1 in a thousand. Good Luck.

    I have 5 years contract. First call was my refreezer and service man told me it is due to old and cannot find part and no cover. It was about 8 years old so I bought new one. Second call was my outside ac fan made noise. I called service man he told me he will order part and come back in 10 days but never show up. I called company. They told me service man did not order part so I have to give them correct part information so they can order. So I did and wait. No one call or show up. I call again. This time they told me it is not cover under warranty. I called salesperson. He told me it is cover and they offer me $300 to fix myself. They refuse to fix it because I failed to annual maintenance.

    So I agreed to accept $300 but check never coming. I called again. They told me it take 30 days to sent out. I wait again for 45 days but never see the check. I call them. They told me I have to wait 90 days if I want to ask them to issue another check otherwise they will be a fee to reissue. I want to cancel the contract but cash value is just little compare what I paid. It was old 7 months I used. Never buy CHW warranty policy. They make all kind of excuse when you need service.

    Moved into a new home and the 3rd day into our new place we had a water leak. The seller bought this home warranty with Choice. After I called to set up a claim they sent a technician out to see what’s the issue. Contractor showed up and immediately knew he had to cut the ceiling to confirm the leak and where it was coming from, Stated he had to get permission first before cutting the drywall. He called someone with Choice and was left on hold for over 30 mins. Finally they gave him permission to open the ceiling. Sure enough hot water line leaking and ruining drywall. Had to call them back to get permission to fix said leak... Choice would not approved repairs to our hot water pipe leak until they had a copy of the home inspection report. Had to wait for Tuesday the following week to send it to them.

    Contractor left and did nothing to fix the leak because it wasn't approved by Choice. So I had a hole in my ceiling and a leaking hot water line and no fix or no answers. So I went and fixed it myself. Couldn't go weeks without hot water while they waited the 24 hours to approve the repair. Go figure. Sent the report on Tuesday morning and now it’s Thursday at 3:30pm and finally get approval after my realtor called and questions what was taking so long. Now they want to come out and repair the water leak and fix the drywall to rough finish... My ceiling isn't a rough finish. It is stomped and no I will have a 3 foot by 3 foot patch that doesn't match the rest of the house. Great news for someone that just moved in a week and half ago. Thank you for nothing.

    Since I had to fix the pipe myself to just have hot water they won't reimburse me as I’m not a licensed plumber. I think they wanted me to live in a house with a water leak until they gave permission for someone to fix it. Just kills me and frustrates me that they see nothing wrong with this and only said "its been approved" yeah a week later. Sorry a water leak shouldn't have to wait a week to be repaired. Hope no one ever has a gas leak and they make you wait a week... I would think twice before choosing this company for your home warranty company. Just really upset about the way they handled my claim with no regard to my home and the damage that had happened and was continuing to happening.

    The company will always find a way to deny any claim. The technicians that are sent out for the repair are required to receive prior approval before making any repairs. They collect their money then submit a work order and leave. It may take days before approval or denial. If the office does not like the report of the technician they will send another company tech out for another review. There are so many exclusions in the fine print of the contract that you do not see until after you purchase the warranty. Eventually they find a reason not to cover any repair. Choice Home Warranty received their money. The technicians receive their money and no repair is made.

Only problem was that Choice Home Warranty sent me an e-mail saying service would be on 1/22/19. They sent ALR an e-mail saying service to be performed on 1/23/19.     Clogged bathtub drain - From the time I placed the order to the completion of the job everything except 1 thing was excellent. This comment is based on my observation as a business person and not any comments made by the contractor. The contractor had to wait for about 20 minutes to get your approval to unclog the drain, which was the reason for the service call. Your system should allow the contractor to do a minimum amount of work without your approval. In this case the minimum would have been using a electric snake to unclog the drain. Any work in addition to that would require your approval. This system should apply to most if not all service calls.

    What a waste of time for 2 skilled tradesmen to wait 20 minutes for your approval to do the job they were sent to do. During the 20 minutes they were waiting for your approval they could have completed the job and been on their way to the next job. Your current system is not cost effective for your company, the contractor or the customer.

    I called Choice Home Warranty on Jan 3rd, 2019 for a claim for my glasstop stove element not working. A couple days later they assigned the work to a company that never showed up. I then called Choice again thinking since I'd already called and waited and the people never showed that they would have someone look into the matter and put me in as a priority but NO, they said I'd have to be put back into the pool and wait again till the work order was once again assigned to another contractor for repair. Again a couple days went by and a so called tech came out and said they would have to order the parts. After more days of waiting I called Choice again, they put me on hold to call the assigned company for information. The Choice customer service rep came back on the phone and told me they tried contacting the company only to get a message that the number had been disconnected.

    So now I will be priority you'd think but no Choice said I would have to wait now for the 3rd time to be put back again into the system till another company was assigned the work order. Again days later a man calls to say he's been assigned the repair, if I could read of the information on my stoves data plate, didn't come out to check, just took info I read off to him. I call Choice once again for an update and I'm told parts would be in on the 21st Jan.

    Today I spoke to Choice again and they said the parts were in so I ask when will they come out to do the repair. The rep said, "Wait and I'll call to find out." She came back on the phone and said, "The guy will call you today with a scheduled time he would come out," well it's almost 9PM and no call. I spoke numerous time to Choice solution department and to their authorization department, don't know why because they can't or won't solve or authorize anything. They just keep talking in circles. Bottom line stay as far away as you can from this -5 star company.

    This company is a joke, they find every way possible to not cover anything. I had a policy and was told due to the part being one that wears over time, it would not be covered as it was already bad once the policy had started. Do your homework on these guys, they are quick to start you on a policy but find any way possible to make money off you. And in case you get a policy and want to end it "at any time" they are quick to take a $50.00 fee for doing that. I will never use this company and make sure anyone I know will never give a cent to them.

    CHW is a complete waste of money! Every claim I've submitted has been denied due to "out of policy" - either outside of working hours, or just plain: "we don't cover that" (a water heater tank). Multiple calls to customer service are met with the "well, sorry, that's in our policy - we don't take care of that". I've even pointed out that the testimonials talk about getting a hot water tank replaced - and when I submitted my claim I was told it wasn't a mechanical error and therefore outside of the coverage.

    I've submitted claims on weekends and been told, "we don't handle emergencies, you'll have to pay out of pocket and then we'll see if we'll reimburse you". I bought this policy for peace of mind - it offers none. I have no idea if a claim will be covered (and now I expect not to be covered). Terrible! There are better companies out there (that's what my property manager and the vendors who do the service calls tell me) out there, I can't wait to switch from this sham of a "service provider."

    It’s been almost a week since calling. Took 3 days to get someone out here. Came out 2 hours after the schedule window I was given when they did show. I have an electronic Delta faucet on my kitchen sink. It had a leaking o-ring and the solenoid wasn’t working.     I don't feel like the repair man found a leak in my system while he was here. The only thing he did was take off the back panel of the freezer and said that the compressor was only half frozen which could have been a result of the system not working the day before. He didn't really do anything except for look at the compressor while he was here. The refrigerator and freezer were back to normal temperatures when he got here. The ice maker was still not working. You told me repeatedly that if I had to find my own technician that you would reimburse me the cost then your reps repeatedly tried to back out of that, then they tried to pay for about 1/3 of the cost.     Choice Home Warranty is the worst. They make it sound like they cover all the things that could go wrong in your home and it sounds great until you file a claim and they actually cover NOTHING. I have paid into this for 3 years and when the Dishwasher quit working they didn't cover it. When the Hot Water heater went out they didn't cover it. You would be better off putting that money in a savings account so you can replace things when they stop working.

    When I purchased CHOICE I was informed I would receive same day service. It took 2 days to find a provider and another 2 days to schedule with provider. Provider arrived, was professional, pleasant and did an excellent job. He stated he was only here to fix the P trap, but I had other drainage and blockage issues that was not in his work order.

    I explained to him I spoke to someone at CHOICE Home Warranty 3 times to explain my issues, which delayed my service by another 3 days. He asked me if I wanted to proceed, but I would have to pay additional cost myself. He was here, I didn’t want to deal with the run around on the phone with CHOICE, did not want to have him leave and wait for approval, so I accepted to pay the additional work charge of $180.     I had 2 policies with them and in my first 2 claims they were denied. They look for any silly excuses so as not to deny protection. One claim was the heating element of my dryer, they denied it because the ventilation duct was supposedly very dirty and the other claim was the air conditioning because it was a liquefaction in the evaporator. I cancel both policies quick as I see that this company will do anything to not cover the claims.

    I had a home warranty through Choice Home Warranty for 4 years. Every time had filed a claim it was a horrible experience. 1st claim they just flat out denied. 2nd claim was for a water heater. They sent a tech out who was very unknowledgeable. He tried to say it was an electrical problem and I would have to call someone else. Paid for the service call and called Choice to tell them what happened. They never got back to me. Called another company and they fixed the problem within 30 minutes (but had to pay out of my own pocket).

    3rd claim was on a furnace. First, they denied the claim. I fought them on it and they finally agreed to pay for the parts needed. When I told the contractor who Choice had sent out to assess the system that they were going to pay for the parts, they told me they would need to come take another look (this company just wanted me to replace the whole system for $6400!). After they took a second look, the company called me back and said that the repair would now be $2300 and possibly more once they began the work. I called another HVAC company for a second opinion. They came out and said there was no need to replace the system and they fixed everything for $500. Choice Home Warranty is a joke and even worse, the companies they send out to your house are a bunch of crooks! Save your money and do not buy a policy from Choice!

    I had American Home Shield for over 15 years and the prices had crawled up over the years. I decided to try Choice because the service fee was less. My dishwasher stopped heating the water and after they repaired it, it soon stopped heating again. They said that it was not worth repairing and offered $125 to replace it. It was a relatively new dishwasher and I said, "No thanks, please just repair it." They said to look at page 13, clause D, etc. They ended up giving me a bit more, but I can't begin to replace it at the amount they gave me.

    Now, I have a leak in my ceiling. The plumber cut 3 holes in the ceiling and determined it was a leaking drain pipe. Choice decided not to cover it. They said it was not ordinary wear and tear. Isn't that the point of a warranty? To repair something that has broken? So now I have paid to have holes cut in my ceiling and I still have a leak. I have also had bad experiences with one of their a/c companies and the repair company sent out to fix my stove. They told me on the phone that I should have read my contract. They sure didn't tell me that when I signed up for it and prepaid for 5 years. I am going back to American Home Shield after this contract is up. You get what you pay for!

    Everything went well up until the technician showed up. When the technician took the thermostat off the wall, it seemed like he didn’t know what he was doing. It seemed very violent, maybe causing some connection issues, since after the batteries were replaced and the thermostat being put back on the wall, the thermostat screen came on, but the controls would not work. The technician then had to go to Home Depot to buy a new thermostat, but did not explain to us what kind of thermostat he was getting. The replacement thermostat was not of the level of options that the old thermostat had. The old one was programmable, and the new one is not. It would of been nice to be a part of that decision making in case we wanted to upgrade our thermostat, giving that we would pay the difference if needed. We were not given that option. I would like to speak with someone about this claim.

    Had a plumber come out for a slow faucet in the kitchen and a slow drain in the bathroom. Had to pay the plumber $65 to come and do an assessment. The slow faucet needed to have a pipe replaced. Nope. Forget that. Not covered. The slow drained was approved so I had the plumber work on that. He couldn't get to the stoppage with his snake, it kept getting hung up so he had to replace the elbow on the basement piping.

    Choice Home Warranty said they are not going to cover that kind of repair and they intended to just pay $60 to snake out the drain. So I ended up paying the plumber $340 for the work plus a $65 assessment. They paid $60. Woohoo. Not to mention I was on the phone with them for over 55 minutes, got transferred 4 different times to people that said they couldn't make a decision. I was considering renewing because I have some older appliances, but it's now a trust issue. I don't trust this company would cover a future claim and therefore see no reason to continue its service. The plumber was laughing about how little they cover so what does that tell you?

    Had some electrical problems - some plugs weren't working. I tried trouble shooting myself, couldn't figure it out. Went to CHW online. I got a quick response from their electrician. They came out next day and fixed the problem quickly. Great service. Good attitude. Just paid for service fee. All around a great experience. Thanks.

    When my dishwasher quit, Choice responded within minutes. A to Z Home Repair contacted me soon after and was here the next day. My dishwasher was too old to be worth installing a new board, so Choice offered me money toward a new one. It was a reasonable amount and we put it toward our new one. We're very happy that we got a home warranty and that we chose Choice.

    Our furnace would not shut off. We could not turn it down as we usually do and get it to go off. We could not turn it off. We had to flip the breaker to shut it off. We called for help and the lady I talked to was prompt in getting our request to a service company, Snowflake Air, and an appointment time. They called us to confirm that appointment, and gave us a time frame, and showed up on time. And fixed the problem. They replaced a relay. Today the furnace is working correctly.

    Choice had a technician scheduled quickly and the technician showed up as scheduled. He made the diagnosis and reported the issue to Choice. Choice promptly authorized the repair. Since it is now the weekend, not sure when the Tech can make it back to affect the repair.

    No heat. Made claim over 10 days ago... Right hand doesn't know what left hand is doing. Several calls made, with promise to resolve... been running 6 space heaters 24/7 trying to maintain heat. WILL NOT RENEW AND DO MY BEST TO TELL OTHERS AS WELL NOT TO USE CHW!!!
