I have been with this company for 2 years and have only had to use them 3 or 4 times. My hot water tank went out. I reported the problem. Company came out. Saw issue reported issue. Come to find out the part that I needed is no longer available. The company chose to send me a check for $273 for part that is no longer available instead of just replacing the tank. I have been without hot water for almost a week now with a newborn in the house. We have to boil our water which is gonna cost my gas bill to go up???? They told me it will take 15 to 30 days for the check to arrive. I don’t have the money for a new hot water tank and I’m pretty sure $273 is not gonna cover it. So what am I suppose to do now???? I do not think this company is fair AT ALL AND YES I’M PISSED.

We finally found a very polite knowledgeable agent, the first agent name was Laurie, very rude. We called back and the gentleman we spoke to was very friendly and polite. He was very nice and we ended up, with a very good policy. We researched home warranties and found Choice was more flexible in its rates, especially since we are seniors and every dollar savings help.

I filed a claim for my dryer to be repaired. The first tech did not come see the dryer to service it. He just called and assumed he knew the problem. He lied about when he was coming as if my time was not valuable. The $45 was waived but nobody bothered to tell him so when he did finally show up he refused to service the dryer and left. So the job was reassigned to another tech who does not even service dryers!!! Nothing has been done to resolve this. So then I was told by a "manager" that he was going through dispatch to speed up the process. I got an email today 4-5-19 saying an appointment is scheduled for 4-17-19!! So it's taking 1 month just to get a dryer service. Will not renew this worthless waste of money contract. Will be filing a report with the Better Business Bureau.

Our current Warranty Company reduced their coverage and increased their premiums so I was checking around for a new Warranty Company. I called Choice to inquire about their coverage. At first, the phone salesman was very polite and informative. However, after telling him I would go with Choice and gave him my payment information, he turned into the salesman from _ _ _ _. He was determined to sell me more and I continued telling him no. I also told him I was regretting making the call to Choice because of his pushy ways. After he realized I was not buying additional coverage, he became real "cold" sounding. I am hoping my experience with Choice on our home warranty is not this type of service.

Denied my broken refrigerator claim. Left me with a 700 dollar repair. My ice maker is broken and freezes up all the time. The repair was denied. Some lame excuse as my refrigerator still works. The ice maker is extra. No one explained that to me when I took out the policy. This is the second time I have been left with repair bills. What do I need this policy for if it does not cover anything.

CHW gave us the option of reimbursement as they had difficulty in getting a technician to answer the service required. This was very good as we were able to get the service that we preferred. The Authorization Dep't has to be contacted by the technician in order for the cost to be paid by CHW. The phone number that CHW gives to contact the Dep't is 1-888-373-8042. I called & waited more than 5 minutes but there was no answer. I called again but no-one replied so I contacted CHW on their regular line. Everything was taken care of in a timely manner.

Duck and Dive came to fix our problem. The tech was very knowledgeable and fixed the problem right away. He was very courteous and professional. Explained what the problem was and checked the pool totally. He is a great vendor to have on your team. Use him as much as possible for good results.

I had the pleasure of speaking with Abe yesterday, 4 April 2019. He sold me a policy that I am very satisfied with. He took his time and explained everything to me that I needed to know before I actually purchased the policy. He took his time and was very patient. He mentioned several things that I was not sure of and he cleared up my questions.

I was given a quote and the associate stated that today was the last day. I told the associate that I had just started my research and could not commit regardless of the sales price. He responded with a "goodbye" and hung up. I thought that was very rude. Date: April 5th 2019. Time: Approximately 8:35 am CST.

Tech arrived as scheduled, called first. Very polite. Found a bad internal fuse. Dryer was heating when he left. However he only tried it until he felt heat. When I attempted to dry a real load of clothes it would not heat for more than 5-10 minutes. Called direct to tech. He was very polite and stated he will return the next day to fix. I will wait for the job to be finished before a final comment.

The owner and HVAC man was very knowledgeable and polite and when I need more repairs for that and appliances I would prefer to have him repair all. He did a great job and quick and came at a good time.

My experience started off very negative. Was very disappointed until the communication was not there but Choice Warranty straighten it out and now I am satisfied. Just waiting to hear when I can expect to hear back from them for the funds to get here to replace my microwave range.

I rejected a offer for a price on to replace microwave. Rang. They called back but I was at work. Return call on break and this morning no one called me back. Have been with you guys long but I left American Home Shield because I thought you would be a good fit for me.

I have had two claims. Neither one want well. When I originally signed up, I asked if there was ever a problem and they needed to replace it, what would they replace it with. I was told the same make and comparable features. That was a full out lie I was told by sales rep. Also was not impressed with the way claims are scheduled and one took a week to come out with a wide time frame. Glad I didn’t take the year long plan. Looking at other companies or will not do a plan because this was more hassle and definitely didn’t protect my investment. Plan is worthless and will not recommend to others.

My built in microwave oven (Over the range) would not heat and Choice Home Warranty (CHW) were unable to send a tech for 2 days then I hired one from a website. They gave me an estimate; but CHW decided to replace instead of repairing the unit. it was determined that I needed a magnetron and capacitor to make it work. The appliance is 13+ years old, but I feel it can be repaired.
They initially offered $169 as the replacement cost towards the new microwave that costs approximately $399.00 (GE website). When I decline their offer the case was transfered to a claim manager for review and I end up getting service call reimbursement. (I paid 44 more than my service call charge on CHW contract) + 200 = 244. and I will end up paying around 400 for the unit plus any installation/haul away old unit/shipping. Most store ship them and if it is less than certain amount I need to pay shipping as well.
Feel like it is bad idea to have a warranty if they cannot fix it. I bought warranty for peace of mind, If I have to search for tech/shop for a new one/do installation then it is better save some money in an separate account for new appliances/repairs. Will not renew for sure. I am with them for more than 2 years and was a satisfied customer til my last 2 claims.

When you inquire about the product, the salespeople tell you they cover EVERYTHING regardless of age or current condition. What they don't tell you and it is deep within their fine print they do not cover rust, corrosion, electrical surges, power outages, fire, "acts of God." So if you own an older home or a previously owned home, they will find a way to deny your claim.
Three times we called for warranty coverage, and 3 times they sent out the same service tech and 3 times the problems were misdiagnosed, and 3 times I paid for another service tech to come out and properly diagnose and fix the problem. While discussing the issues with their representative, I was interrupted no less than 10 times in 5 minutes. I quoted back their own policy and items from their brochures and his response was "where did you get that?"
At no point did I feel they were there to represent me or my best interests. When I originally purchased the warranty, I asked for 1 year and was charged for 3 without my consent. Which I had to call and correct at my own expense. They will not allow cancellations in writing. It must be done verbally, so technically anyone could call in and cancel my policy at any given time without my consent and there would be no trail as to how, who or where that request came from.
When I asked for information on their cancellation policy, he responded with it wouldn't be smart to cancel at this point. I had to raise my voice and ask more than 3 times for him to send me or tell me where I can find their cancellation policy before I was told they only take cancellations over the phone. You have a choice, and CHOICE HOME WARRANTY should not be it unless you just like throwing money to some random company who will not pay on their claims and will find every reason to deny them!!!

When checking to see what this company offered I had to put in my phone and email. Decided not to go with this company and they will not leave me alone. Have blocked on my cell phone at least 8 different numbers and emailed them 3x to take my address off their list. Very annoying.

My dishwasher was deemed not able to repair, and needed to be replaced. The person who contacted me first offered $179.00, I refused, he then offered me $220. After reviewing my account again, he offered $400. It was like trying to buy a car. Each time the amount went up. What a disgraceful way to operate, when the contract indicates that "if we can't fix or repair, we replace." It does not state that you try to replace with the lowest cost like item available, offer the customer the lowest price, and hope they will take it.
I was with American Home Shield, and they replace three items for me. Never was the lowest cost item available a choice. They sent me a list of products that matched the one that was to be replaced and I could chose the one I wanted, or they would send me the cash amount instead. You run your replacement like a used car salesman, and the customer is the loser if they take the first offer. I changed to Choice, lots of promises, paid sum $2300 for six years of coverage. I am considering changing back to American Home Shield, after this experience.

1st Time calling about leak! Claim Date: 12/07/2018. Appliance Plumbing System. Issue - Toilet will not flush. Last Time Working 11/01/18. Last Time Repaired 11/01/18. Best Phone **. More Notes. Provided the policy # ** for the cx to process online/issue with the toilet it's not flashing and leaking on the ceiling/smell is coming out on the cabinets. 2nd Time calling about leak! Claim Date: 12/07/2018. Appliance Plumbing System. Issue - Leak in house - Ceiling. Last Time Working 12/05/18. Best Phone **. More Notes. Leaking on the basement from the ceiling/cx can't recall of any repair nor started.
3rd Time calling about leak and then declined. Claim Date: 04/01/2019. Appliance Plumbing System. Issue - Leak in house - Wall. Last Time Working 03/01/19. More Notes. The kitchen sink and the bathroom share a wall. When using the kitchen sink or the dishwasher, it floods water into the floor of the bathroom. A lot of water. There is no water under the kitchen sink, so believe the leak is coming from in between the wall between the two room.
Had the issue been fixed back in November 2018 the rust would not have been there the rust was from them not finding the problem and telling us to caulk bathroom to fix it, which did not because all along it was coming from kitchen sink which we kept telling everyone that's where we thought it was coming from. The guy had to tear out the wall to see the pipe. My question is what is what causes normal wear and tear to a copper pipe??? Could 5 months of not fixing it from the people you sent cause rust and corrosion. I think so!
Normal wear and tear would be rust and corrosion! The pipe is split. We saw it. I have a pic. It's a pipe that wasn't fixed the first time so it got worse. In December the guy said the leak was coming from the bathroom and needed caulked so we did the whole tub, faucets and tub surround with new caulk. It's still leaking. This one is not our fault. If it had been fixed the first time around it wouldn't be as bad. Review this and fix it. It has been 5 months, 3 visits and $180 so far. It should have been fixed the first time and the next service calls should have been free till you found the problem. You owe me $120!

I’ve thought about purchasing your product for six months now. The reason I didn’t from the start was your pushy salespeople. Today I decide to give Choice Home Warranty another shot with the same pushy, hurry up and buy experience. I’m contemplating canceling my service, because I feel the company may just be looking to take my money and leave me out in the cold if their services are needed.

We purchased this warranty when we bought our house in 2018. Day 2 of moving in our A/C went out. Then our pool pump broke. And now our A/C and heater went completely out and broke. They came out each time and charged us $65 to let us know yes it's broke, but we will not repair it. Spoke to the "manager" and he told us no we will not accept claim and they would not give any reasons to why. His response was "I don't know why, but we won't repair anything for you". What did we pay for and why did we waste time and money on this worthless warranty? Who wants to buy a home and have to deal with this? Why won't you repair my issues when its all in my contract/agreement with your company? I have e reported to BBB. No homeowner should be treated this way. Absolutely ridiculous! I will not ever refer your company to anyone.

Spring broke however that is not cover. I would like for someone to raise the door without the spring so that make me feel that it is part of the garage door opener. That addition cost was 337.00 plus the service fee of 65.00 for a total of 435.00. These type of issue leave me no choice but find a better company to deal with in the future.

Contractor came. Diagnose bad blower motor on Monday. I’m still waiting for my system to be repaired. I did receive your email that the repairs has been authorized but I’m looking forward to seeing the job completed, which in my mind that’s what counts. I’m trying to be patient??? To soon to give my review. I cannot rate higher until I see something happening. Keep in mind that when a blower motor fails you have No A/C nor Heater.

Very satisfied with experience in reporting problem, getting claim processed, and receiving a call from vendor within one hour after reporting. Vendor left automated message that tech would be out next day between 3pm & 8pm with was perfect since I get home around 2:30pm. However, the next morning vendor rep called to change appointment to 1pm - 3pm. My wife was just leaving but accepted appointment because we had been without hot water for two days. My wife arrived back to the house around 12:15pm and saw the vendor truck driving off as she was turning the corner to our home. She honked and waved but the truck drove off.
The driver returned about five minutes later and complained that no one was home when he arrived. She reminded him that our appointment was between 1pm & 3pm. He said he was available earlier and that's why he came early. She then found out that the vendor rep had called when no one was home and left a message that the tech would be available earlier than previously appointed. The problem was fixed satisfactorily but the vendor switched the original appointment at the last minute and then arrived earlier than promised for the new appointment. He told my wife that if she hadn't showed up we would have had to make a new appointment!!

I called last year for the air conditioner. The tech you hired showed up with a man passed out in his old truck. He took apart my unit and said he had to leave for a part. He didnt return. I called choice and was told you don't guarantee the subs. You sent out another tech that told me he no longer works for Choice. I came back to give choice a second chance. Im a real estate broker and homeowner.

Furnace making weird loud noises. I called Choice because of strange loud noises. They were very courteous and professional. They changed the cause of my furnace failure to be not what the technician said it was. A second technician agreed with the first. They say they're both wrong and won't cover the failure. The first technician, their vendor, said they are a scam and he won't work with them again.

My first ever claim: dishwasher not working, took days to have a technician rude by the way, took another week to hear the status, I was offered a sort of reimbursement because the repairs was costly, they offered money do not cover for another machine plus installation. So what is the point to have the service since I ended up with no machine anyway, as the end of my contract comes I will look for another option.

The microwave would give out a loud humming noise when turn on and it would start giving out a burning smell and would not heat up anything that I would place in it to be warm up. And right away the technician knew that a part call the magnetron was out. He did a great job.

Heater - They responded with 24hrs. Very courteous and professional. The technician was prompt and experienced and made the repairs in a timely fashion. I definitely believe having a Choice Home Warranty is worth having for a peace of mind. I would recommend this warranty if you do not have one.

After completing the online claim form on a Friday, I promptly had an appointment set for Monday morning. The technician was very capable and respectful and sent his report to Choice, and I got the offer from them the same day. Not being entirely pleased with the offer, I called Choice to provide additional information about the product, and they responded with an improved offer, which I accepted. Choice staff is always very courteous and polite, and their responses are prompt. I have signed up with them for three years on three properties!!

Oven stopped working. Your policy states fix or replace. The only problem is you don't replace. I had to pay monthly, a service fee, and I still have to come out of pocket for my stove that could not be fixed and you won't replace. And I have to wait 30 days for the 400 dollar check you are sending out. I am very disappointed and I'm sorry I waited all this time paying your company.

Initial response to a new claim is great. However locating local HVAC Technician seems to be a problem at CHW. Also slow to get approval codes for work which may turn into two appointments making down time longer. I will tell you this specifically HVAC Techs have nothing good to say about CHW. I would recommend you rethink how you treat them and the time it takes you to pay them. Otherwise my experience is just fine.

Most claims are denied based on what Choice considers to be preventative maintenance not being done. If you have air conditioners or appliances that are a little order, don’t waste your money on this warranty company as you’ll not only end up paying for the warranty, but you’ll also end up paying to replace the AC or appliances you thought you had covered with Choice Home Warranty. I’ve had to replace multiple AC units, water heaters, and appliances that went bad based on age. Beware of this company and make sure you read what is covered prior to purchasing the warranty. Make them show you as they refused to show me until after I purchased the plan.

Furnace repair. Not again satisfied with CHW. Will be looking for another service. Waiting on a part that they have locally and could have been fixed within 24 hours. But CHW want to wait 3 to 5 days for part to be shipped to my location or to the repair tech's location. They could not tell me anything about the service call. Cost of repair? Where part is being shipped to? How much the part cost? Or how much the local cost is? Customer service supervisor knew nothing and not helpful to solve the problem. Still waiting in a 49 degree house for repair 3 to 5 days or so.

I was going to buy and then he tried to upsell to 5 years coverage. After I said no he persisted and would not back down. I ask to speak to his supervisor and he refused. So I have canceled my credit card due to fraud!!

Skeptical at first, but as I continued talking with the technician, it gave me a more positive outlook going forward on repairs that can be so expensive to repair and so little finances to work with. Their PAYMENT plan gave me such peace of mind, being a senior citizen. The tech answered all my questions to my satisfaction.

The receptionist was fantastic. She explained everything in detail far more than the account specialist (renewal) guy. She explained to me they add on 2 months of free service. 12-14 months and I got the free service agreement. I wasn't able to view/edit my credit card information. She apologized the (renewal guy) being rude, abrupt and curt. I asked him for a payment plan, free service visit and the 2 mths free. That guy was wishy-washy. He said, "I couldn't receive both." I threatened to hang up and call back later. He then changed his strategy and offered me both.
I had to call back a second time because he didn't send the email as he stated. He withheld information from me. I had to call back and complain on him and verify how much he was charging me. He appeared to money thirsty salesman. He kept asking me, "What do you not understand?" I probably wouldn't extend my contract if he had told me it's going to be 14 mths. Everything is hidden on my website (Choice) I/E credit card info, (2mths free not really) and the free service calls. I can't see it. Only Choice can see it. That guy sucks. The receptionist was great. I think she's a black female from the islands.

Well satisfied with the replacement replacement price of dryer. With negotiation I was able to get a fair price for a new dryer. Just took a couple of phone calls to get with right agent. Agents name was Ace.

I had to deal with them regarding my A/C. They would not cover almost half of the job. They tried to offer me a low payment. and force me to upgrade (at my cost) because they didn't want to pay for the repairs. The book states if they can't fix it, they replace it. THIS IS NOT TRUE. I called today about a different issue with shower valves, wanted to confirm it is covered and again, before the girl even checked on it, she said NOT COVERED. I suggested she explain it to someone else in her co. of what I was explaining to make sure we were on same page and she refused and kept talking over me. I ended up hanging up as she was too argumentative to deal with. Their Customer Service/managers need to be better trained!! THIS COMPANY IS A JOKE, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. The technician was 3 hours late (he did communicate he would be late though). Diagnosed the problem as a bad main board that was probably caused by a high current draw from the compressor. Also noticed that due to no refrigeration for 24+ hours, water was dripping from the ice maker but not affecting any components. The main board that was bad was no longer in production and when I called your claims line, I was told that they would come up with a replacement cost for the appliance and send it to us. Approx 10 minutes later, I got an e-mail saying that the claim was denied because was damage was the cause of the failure. I appealed the decision and then spoke to the tech to verify that he HAD NOT diagnosed the problem as water damage.
Monday I received a call from a very rude claims adjuster who said that she was going to override the claim denial and send us a check for the replacement cost of the main board and that since water damage was the cause of the the failure she was not required to do so since you do not cover water damage. I tried to explain that water damage was NOT the cause of the damage and I was under the impression that we would be receiving the replacement cost of the refrigerator since the broken part was no longer available.
She said that since you were not responsible for damage caused by leaks (again, not the cause of the problem), she was doing us a favor by overriding the claim denial. I accepted the check because I thought if I argued more she would rescind the settlement completely. I have 2 houses that I cover under Choice Home Warranty and will be cancelling at least one of them before the next payment is due. We are seriously considering cancelling not because of this claim.

Controller is faulty, no hot water, still not fixed because you decided to order the part to save you money. I'm without hot water until the part arrives which could be over a week. This man came out at 9pm and charged me $95 to clean the coils plus the $60 fee and after several hours the the freezer is still not making ice. Never did he even bother to look at the ice maker. Just assumed it was the "dirty" coils. This is ** and I want my money back immediately!!! He said all the things y'all would NOT PAY FOR AND BEGAN HIS WORK THERE!!! I feel absolutely cheated and taken advantage of when I clearly told him that's bull regarding some coils being dirty. I bet he cleans everybody's coils for that $95. We have a contract with Choice Home Warranty to repair or replace broken appliances. Our oven has broken and the parts are no longer available to fix it. Choice Home Warranty offered us a pittance of what it will cost to replace this oven. Well they say if it can’t be fixed They will replace it. However this is not the truth. They offer only what the parts would cost if the parts were available which in our case they are not. This is a very poor way to do business especially when their advertisement states that they will replace the appliance when it cannot be repaired. Even the fine print doesn’t make sense. Very unhappy with this company.

The technician arrived in a timely fashion, stated the the water lines have signs of corrosion and the tank probably has sediment build up. He then pointed to the pressure relief valve as the issue. Before he contacted Choice Home Warranty he recommended I upgrade the water heater to a 50 gallon tank and he would see if "CHW" would authorize a claim for repair and then use that towards a contribution. "CHW" denied the claim due to sediment and the tech asked again if I would be interested in purchasing a 50 gallon water heater from his company for $1500 which included labor. What a joke. Wasted $400.00 for a home warranty that expires in May.

Updated on 07/29/2020: The process was simple. I called CHW, spoke with a friendly and knowledgeable representative and filed my claim. In less than an hour, the service company, Ultra Heating and Cooling, had called and set an appointment. The service technician, Billy, called about 15 minutes before the scheduled arrival time to say he was on the way. Billy arrived on time, diagnosed the problem, or in this case problems, made a parts run and had my A/C blowing colder than ever. Billy was friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and professional, even when one of the parts wouldn't fit. The entire process went smooth as silk and I would highly recommend both CHW and Ultra.
Original Review: I am in the process of buying a home here in Las Vegas. As such, as far as I am concerned a Home Warranty is more important to me than Homeowner's Insurance. I researched carefully the options available and all roads lead to Choice, with a 9.9 out of 10 rating here. I looked online and the coverage and price were exactly what I was looking for, and more importantly, the site is more user friendly than most. I called to ask a couple of questions before purchase and was offered a wide range of choices to fit my needs, all with affordable pricing. I was even given an additional discount off my price and a service call price guarantee. I haven't had to file a claim as of yet, but when I do I feel confident the service will be excellent.

I used option to have my local tech diagnose the problem. They came out and gave CHW their estimate to replace a pump with a like multiple variable speed pump of $2600 ish dollars. Your claims department offered me $255. The case manager was totally unhelpful when I explained that this was not a reasonable amount to replace the pump. The manager said that's what a tech that you use would do it for. He finally reopened the claim to have one of your people come out, however shortly after we reopened the claim I got an email offering me to get my own tech again since you were having problems finding one!? So now I'm waiting for you to find a tech. My pool will be turning green soon without it being circulated and it will cost me over $50 dollars in chemicals to balance water again if this is not resolved. You have truly let me down, I wouldn't recommend your company to anyone at this point.

Had a scheduled appointment from 7:00 am to 11:00 am, tech did not show up.. I did not get a call to tell me the tech would be late. I called the contractor around 3:00 pm and was told the tech would be at my home shortly. The Tech man was 24 hours late, He finally got to my home around 10:00am the next day. Although the representative was interested in a quick sale, she was most willing to allow time for me to discuss the policy with my wife. When I was unable t find the ad again, I decided that maybe it was not meant to be. Then, your people called me again. There was no pressure to buy, and the rep agreed to send me an email outlining the program for my wife to review. She was sold, and so I bought online. PLEASE READ IT TO THE END. FROM A HOMEOWNER TO ANOTHER. I'm a customer with Choice garbage Home Warranty company right now not by choice. If I cancel I will lose all my money. They told me they will deduct any paid claim I did in the past, minus $50 for cancellation and 6 month out of the contract. In another word I will end up with nothing. So I have to keep the contract and hope nothing else break in my home because they are only out to take your money and not fix anything especially your central AC which is one of the most expensive appliance in your home. They will come out with the most stupid excuses you will heard in your life. I only have six months with this GARBAGE WARRANTY COMPANY.
I started with them in August 2018. My central AC broke down in September 29, 2018. The tech they send couldn't get to the attic because the guy who came was a big guy. So they told me they will send another company and if I know one for me to call them. I just bought the house and came here from another state. I don't know anybody here. Time passed. No one came. Winter came. Now is March. I called them back. They made a new claim #. A New tech came. Checked the Ac unit, the unit is useless. I need a new central AC unit. Now they denied my claim because the unit has debris inside and around it. Of course is sitting outside without any use because is broken. Fall and winter past. Now is spring. They will collect debris like tree leaf. That's all it had - leaf. They are claiming no maintenance was done to the unit.
Why would I pay for maintenance for a broken AC and it was winter time. They also told me the tech told them the unit was in poorly condition. I call the tech. He told me that he didn't said that and he will send me a copy of his report. I'm waiting for his report, I have two choice. Take them to court or pay for it myself. They will look for any excuse to take your money and not fix your appliances. You should hear this people talking to me on the phone. Their excuses my God are they for real? Listen to me from a Homeowner to another. Do not buy your Home Warranty from this company. They will talk to you very nicely to get you to buy a contract from them. Really low copayments $45 per claim. Now I have to waste my time in court to get them to do the right thing.

I pay a monthly payment and 60 dollars for service and my dishwasher has to be replaced and all Choice gave me was 179.99 for a dishwasher. Dishwasher start at 200.00 dollars. This company is a rip-off. I could save 37.99 a month plus my 120.00 dollars and put all of that to over 100 dishwasher. Do not apply for scam.

My furnace went out. It is 30+yrs old. The part that is needed can no longer be gotten. The furnace factory has gone out of business Making the furnace useless and can no longer be repaired. I was told I would get a check for $300 the price of the part that can not be gotten. I was told when I signed up with CHW if it couldn't be fixed it would be replaced. I live in WI. It gets very cold in winter! What I was told before I signed up was lies. I am not a happy customer. I am very disappointed with CHW I am disabled and live on a fixed income. I was hoping CHW would be there for me when I needed.

78 YO Woman W/O Heat for 2 Weeks!!! Yes, she spends a lot of hours in bed under covers. They said they were coming last Saturday and I waited for them as she had plans, and they never showed. Today is one week from then and they promised to be there today. That didn't happen and she's still without heat in March. Their warranties are expensive and are not worth the paper they're printed on.

The serviceman came out promptly and was very courteous. He replaced the fan and advised us to wait for two hours. We placed a small bottle of water in the freezer yesterday evening about 18 hours ago. The water is about 85% frozen and the icemaker is still not working. We have been pleased with the ease of your system and scheduling as new clients. The technician who came to our home was professional and helpful. However, upon submitting his assessment, we have only heard a response to the most minor part of our claim for your company. We have a major leak in our shower line and currently cannot use it. This was clearly described in his notes. We have not heard any feedback on this issue and see only a response to a garbage disposal and sink issue. I am concerned that this issue was overlooked or ignored and frustrated that the most serious matter was not promptly responded to. I am hoping to hear a response soon.

I had a home warranty with Choice for a few years and never ever had a claim. My air conditioner quit on March 11th, 2019 and I submitted a claim (I am a former owner of an AC company and know my way around this service). I live in Hot and Humid Houston so expected a prompt response. Two days later I received a message that my case was submitted to a company called "Landmark Mechanical" which texted me for an appointment two more days later. In investigating Landmark Mechanical, they are basically a 2 or 3 person company that never returns phone calls or answers the phone when you call them.
My compressor had failed and finally 5 days later Choice approved the repair, but my share to pay Landmark directly was $550....WHAT? Turned out that both Choice and Landmark were trying to screw me with charges that were not necessary and apparently exclusions on the contract. I agreed so someone would get my AC fixed as it was hot!!!
Finally on March 25th Landmark 2 guys came out to replace the compressor. They struggled for a couple of hours as they didn't know what they were doing and they lied to me and walked away from the job without saying a word. I tried for two days to get ahold of them and Choice without success. Finally Choice sent me a message that Landmark was coming out on March 28th between 9 and 11 to complete the repair. The morning of that day I received a message from Landmark that the appointment was now 12-2. I immediately called to tell them not to come as I had wasted too much time dealing with the "fly by night" company, but they showed up anyways and I told them to leave as they really didn't know what they were doing. They did leave...
I hired my own guy to complete the compressor replacement and the cost was a lot less that Landmark wanted. Based on this case, I immediately cancelled my Choice Home Warranty and I feel very good about doing that. I urge everyone who is reading this to 1) avoid buying a home warranty from Choice or 2) cancel your home warranty with Choice and go with another provider. I believe Choice avoids California because they would require "Real" contractors to do their work and they couldn't hire their own guys off the street like they did with me.

It is also my fault, because I didn't read every detail in the booklet. I have had other warranties and never had a cap. I submitted my first service request to Choice on 3/7/19, when my dishwasher stopped working. They sent a technician to my house on 3/9. He spent one and a half hours in my home completely tearing apart my dishwasher, said it was shot, that he would tell Choice it needed to be replaced and I would hear back 3/11, 3/12 at the latest.
By 3/14, I had not heard anything, so I called Choice. They never received a report from the technician and never followed up with him about my service call. I was told if they don't get a report from a technician, they ASSUME there is nothing more to do. They said they don't call the customer to follow up "because maybe they went on vacation or they had a death in the family and they wouldn't want to be called." My hand to God, that's what they said.
I had to call Choice 4 times and speak to a total of 6 people. Today is 3/28, I still don't have a working dishwasher or even an appointment with another technician. I'm told they can't find a local technician. This company is nothing more than a call center that doesn't even have a list of approved technicians. Since they can't find a technician, it's now on me to get someone else to my house, who then has to report to Choice that my dishwasher is shot, so I can finally get it replaced.
Needless to say, I told them I no longer wanted to do business with them, and would you believe, they are charging me a $50 "administrative fee" to get out of my contract? Even after Choice pays the technician and pays me for a replacement dishwasher, I would have spent less money, had much less hassle, and got a new dishwasher a heck of a lot quicker if I had taken care of it myself, which, in the end, is what I have to do anyway! Oh, and did I mention they won't install the new one either? This is the second home warranty company I have used, and been abused by. There won't be a third. Do yourself a favor and put the money you would have paid them into a rainy day account instead. This company is just raking in money to do what you can do for yourself.

I had 2 claims. The first was water under the water heater. It was denied. The second was a noisy dryer that was condemned for a fraction of what it would cost to replace. Had it repaired by an independent for $150. I decided to cancel my one year contract after just two months and was told that there was a $50 admin charge. My hard sell salesman said I could cancel and get all of my prorated payment refunded. The cancellation rep was very nice at first and offered two free service calls and when I said, "No thank you" She got downright nasty and started to lecture this 70-year-old like a school kid!!! So basically this ordeal cost me $350.

The Choice rep and company done great this time, took my order and had the responding company here by noon the same day, great. However the plumbing company could not work on the dishwasher and it still does not not work. They fixed the problem in the line just fine.

The repair person stated that the approval to replace the control panel was denied, and the email I received stated that the repair was completed, but nothing was repaired, so I am very dissatisfied with the service. The repair man called and said that he got an email to go ahead and do the repair, so I do not know what is going on with my service request.

Air conditioner repair. I came home from a 2 hour outing and the house was at 80 degrees. I did a preliminary check to no avail. I called Choice Home Warranty, within minutes I had a scheduled appt., the next day. YANTRA air arrived promptly and problem solved. This is the 3rd claim I have had with Choice and will always protect my home with them. I already extended my contract, and will never be with Choice Home Warranty.

Recent washer leak. I have used the home warranty several times and each time the response has been very quick from the time of my call to the time I have an appointment scheduled. I have not had any issues with the professionals sent to my house and Choice has always come through on the approval for repairs or replacement of an appliance if needed. It definitely has paid for itself.

I purchased my Choice Home Warranty in 2017 without having to use it and renewed it for 2018-19. In January I had to call them for my Central air/heat unit and they responded that day and fixed my unit. Then in March I had to call them to fix my washer, again their service was the next day. I had to wait for a new part to come in but that is normal service. I never had expected to have to use my home warranty service to fast but I am so happy I purchased Choice home warranty and very pleased with the two breakdowns I had and the quality service I received from them.

Claim placed Monday. By Monday afternoon had already been connected to technician and by Tuesday morning had appt for Wednesday morning. Quick and painless and fixed on the spot. Technician nice and prompt too. Only had to make initial phone call Monday and that was it.

Ian was very helpful and explained everything in complete detail. He had some recommendations as well for future service that we plan on taking advantage of. He got all the problems resolved except for one, within 40 minutes of his arrival. He had to verify a repair with you guys and came back the next a few days later to complete the project. I highly recommend him and intend on using him in the future.

Easy to get appointment set up. Technician called on his way out and came out within the scheduled appointment time. Technician was out within a week to fix our pool filter/leak. Seemed very knowledgeable and competent. Technician was nice and explained what he was doing and why.

I just signed up today, as they worked with me to get the coverage I needed at a cost I felt was reasonable. I had a short in my water heater that was not fixable. The Mechanical company that came out to check it was very prompt, courteous and informative. They of course made sure it was covered first with Choice. Then set up a time that was agreeable and workable and were prompt and neat. Only shortcoming would be that Choice did not pay for the removal and disposal of the water heater... as in why would you need to pay extra for that? What am I to do with a non working water heater? Pricey at $325 extra beyond the $75 service call. Not the contractor's fault. Just seems like an unreasonable expectation from the warranty company.

Instead of trying to help, they spend their energy trying to find a technicality to get them out of paying a claim. After one year, they only covered $50 on various issues which cost me $2000 to fix. Most recently, after three days still not one call about fixing my garage door motor. I wrote, "a part has broken off the motor, the chain is sagging, and it is nonoperational". They responded, "we don't cover chains", claim denied. Yet in those 3 days, they have called me 7 times to get me to re-up my warranty for the next year. Not a chance!

PLEASE READ IT TO THE END. FROM A HOMEOWNER TO ANOTHER. I'm a customer with Choice garbage Home Warranty company right now not by choice. If I cancel I will lose all my money. They told me they will deduct any paid claim I did in the past, minus $50 for cancellation and 6 month out of the contract. In another word I will end up with nothing. So I have to keep the contract and hope nothing else break in my home because they are only out to take your money and not fix anything especially your central AC which is one of the most expensive appliance in your home. They will come out with the most stupid excuses you will heard in your life.
I only have six months with this GARBAGE WARRANTY COMPANY. I started with them in August 2018. My central AC broke down on September 29, 2018. The tech they send couldn't get to the attic because the guy who came was a big guy. So they told me they will send another company and if I know one for me to call them. I just bought the house and came here from another state. I don't know anybody here. Time passed. No one came. Winter came now is March I called them back. They made a new claim #. A new tech came. Checked the Ac unit, the unit is useless. I need a new central AC unit. Now they denied my claim because the unit has debris inside and around it of course is sitting outside without any use because is broken fall and winter past. Now is spring. They will collect debris like tree leaf. That's all it had leaf. They are claiming no maintenance was done to the unit.
Why would I pay for maintenance for a broken AC and it was winter time. They also told me the tech told them the unit was in poorly condition. I call the tech. He told me that he didn't said that and he will send me a copy of his report. I'm waiting for his report, I have two choice. Take them to court or pay for it myself. They will look for any excuse to take your money and not fix your appliances. You should hear these people talking to me on the phone. Their excuses my God are they for real? Listen to me from a Homeowner to another. Do not buy your Home Warranty from this company. They will talk to you very nicely to get you to buy a contract from them. Really low copayments $45 per claim. Now I have to waste my time in court to get them to do the right thing.

I purchased the home in July 2018 along with the warranty from Choice Warranty, recommended by the realtor. We filed 4 claims in 6 months, all denied. They claim to cover a list of things but when you have a broad exclusion on what's covered for the items. Trying to reach them by phone is difficult as there is a long hold time. The recording recommends to fill out an online claim which has a limited number of characters to describe the problem. They are quick to deny the claim by e-mail, usually referencing the exclusion on the back of the warranty papers. I paid thousands of dollars in repairs out of pocket and got $0 from Choice Warranty. They are great at marketing the features of the service but lousy when it comes to delivering the benefits. If you're considering this company or any company for that matter, make sure you read & compare the terms and disclaimer and review the coverage and exclusion.

The technician arrived as expected to assess the electrical issue, gfci outlets failing with no indication of why all three in the same area stopped working. I asked the technician if he knew what might have caused it and he had no response. I thought it might be due to power surges and again he had no response so I'll have to research this further. Also, after he left I remembered one or two other electrical issues that could have been addressed while he was at my home but he didn't ask if there was anything other than the main issue needing attention. I would recommend that you advise your service technicians to do that anytime they come out so that multiple visits will be unnecessary.

CHW said someone was coming between 3 and 8pm yesterday to look at the water heater. So I took off work and headed home. At 6:30, still no technician and no call. So I called him and he informed me that CHW never told him about this appointment. He then arrived at 7:55pm. I don’t appreciate having my time wasted.

First time using a home warranty and we were extremely frustrated. While it was super easy to call and start a claim, the notifications we were received via email did not correspond with the service technicians expectations. Called over the weekend for a water heater, was sent an appointment email early Monday morning for an afternoon arrival of our technician. Only the service technician called to make an appointment later in the week and not show up in the window we were given from the email notice. He said they tried to call us, they only called once. Had to make an appointment for a different day for a visit. Yes we got it fixed, but the notifications from Choice said an appointment had been made for us, when in fact that was not the case. Going forward if a repair is needed, we will find a repair person first and call Choice with our repair and service person at that time.

First - you sent me an email that stated the service technician would be here Sunday from 11:00 Am to 3 PM. He was a no show as he does not work on Sunday's. I called to confirm but he did not answer and his phone would not accept any messages. I finally talked with him around 2:30 PM and he confirmed that he does not work on Sundays but he would be out Monday. He came and confirmed what I already had told you and him that the electronic circuit board was not working. He took my check for $60.00 and left saying I would hear something the following day. I called him yesterday at 11:45 Am and asked if he knew what was next. He said I should know something by the end of the day. I never received a call but received an email from you saying the dishwasher was fixed. I responded to that email saying how can you send me an email like that when obviously you have not spoken to the technician or me. This is ridiculous.

Updated on 08/07/2020: Was initially upset when the automated voice told me a date of two days before contractor gets to my issue. Luckily contractor called and had an earlier date of next day. Contractor was early to set time, which is a plus. Leak was taken care of within 45 min. Outstanding job to the contractor.

When I bought this contract I was told they will repair anything even if A/C was few years old. My mistake was just hear what the person who sold me this contract over the phone was telling me. The former company I had a local Florida business was excellent. I never had any problem in having repaired any appliance. This time they told me to read segments of the contract and they denied claim. Be careful when you buy a contract like this one. They do no cover anything. I was totally ripped off. And I had to call another A/C company to pay for for what it was damaged. NEVER AGAIN AFTER NEXT NEXT YEAR THIS CONTRACT EXPIRES and the other 5 I also bought. I will look again for a local company to have all appliances serviced. VERY DISSAPOINTED!!! BAD SERVICE.

I would not recommend using this company to anyone. I am now going on day 10 without hot water. The tech came out the day after my claim was submitted and determined my water heater needed replaced. We set an appointment and was told everything would be taken care of. Day of appointment the tech cancelled because he was told by choice the claim was not approved at that time. I had to call choice to get additional information to push the claim forward. Again I am on day 10 of no hot water and the claim is still not approved. I am nearing the point where I am just going to pay out of pocket and cancel my service with them. In the future I will choose a different home warranty.

As this problem happened on a Sunday we knew it would be difficult to get urgent responses but to Choice's credit they quickly gave us the option to find our own plumber as they were having trouble getting their own network to respond fast enough. We were fortunate to find someone to come out on Monday morning so our troubles were kept to a minimum. Our first experience with a claim with them and happily off to a good start.

Our furnace was being cleaned after we purchased our home and they found 2 cracks in the heat exchanger and Choice Home Warranty was here within 12 hours to check on it and changed the heat exchanger within 24 hrs. Being it was in February this was important to us as it was getting pretty cold and we were worried about our pipes freezing.

I am very impressed with the response time. I call to put in a claim. A technician arrived in two hours of the request. The technician was knowledgeable and provided great customer service. In about 15 mins Mr. Louis had diagnosed the problem. The very next day I received an email that my claim was approved. I have had various home warranties in the past. I have never received such great response.

Overall, good experience and value. However, I did feel somewhat pressured pretty much immediately after filling out information online for a simple quote; multiple emails and then a phone call to my work phone number that somehow was assigned as my primary number even though I didn’t even put that number into the online quote. It was still in the system from a policy a year ago that I started and then stopped. I didn’t really appreciate the call to my work number. Nonetheless, good, respectful customer service, and overall a good value for a home warranty policy.

I purchased a warranty today. The salesman said he would send me a copy to my e-mail. He sent me a questionnaire about the service so he had my e-mail. He said I didn't need maintenance records. When I go to their website I see that they need them for 3 yrs.

I had another service company "Cool Today" on 3/21/19 that I needed Dual Capacitors, Install Kickstart Capacitor on 3.5-5 ton unit and to add one pound of R-22 for a total of $556.52. I called Choice Home Warranty and asked them to put in a work order for your A/C Service Contractor to come out and they sent Always There Heating & Air. Jason ** was the technician and ran gages on my system and found that everything was in spec. and didn't need what the initial company quoted in writing. I had originally called Cool Today to just check my pans and drain to be sure nothing was clogged. They are "crooks" and I cancelled my contract with them for a full refund of $149.00. In the future if I need anything done to my heating and A/C unit I will request your company "Always There Heating & Air". Jason was excellent and knew his business. I will always request them with my Choice Home Warranty Plan.

I read a bunch of terrible reviews about Choice Home Warranty but decided to give them a try anyway - man we should have really listened to those reviews. The worst $425 we ever spent! Terrible Terrible customer service, protection, even matching us with a service provider was challenging for them. We had to find our own then get them approved by Choice. I'm not sure what the employees of this company do, but we do know that they do not help homeowners with any repairs covered in the warranty you buy. I received a phone call last night whilst in my car. I was told all the great benefits and was nearly talked in to a 6 year policy, but just signed up for one. When I got home I read the policy and it was a total waste of time and money. Apparently, everything is covered, until you get to the Exclusions, then, after reading, you find that almost everything is not covered. Seems like a bit of a scam to me. Then when you call back to cancel, they are either closed because of the time, or closed the next day because "cancellations are not open today.

I was an American Home Shield customer for over 20 years and recently switched to CHW. I was never denied service for a broken item due to lack of coverage with AHS and was just denied coverage from you on 2 dripping faucets. I have to look closely at the coverage I have with CHW to see if I should switch back. I’m a realtor who recommends home warranties to my clients so it has to be the best company out there. So far I’m very disappointed.

A leak from the tank from a faulty gasket was replaced. The part had to be obtained from a nearby Lowe's. The installation was completed efficiently and the toilet is again operating properly. Youngs Water and Sewer were professional and arrived after a 30 minute heads-up.

I called Choice, because double oven didn't work. Repairman came. I received an email with the subject "Great News from CHW, We are Replacing your System". Instead Rep told me they would give me 1/5 of the cost to replace it. He referred me to F16 which states that HWA reserves the right to offer cash back in lieu of repair or replacement in the amount of HWA's actual cost (which at times may be less than retail) to repair or replace any covered system, component or appliance.
I thought that offer meant I had the right to accept or reject, but Rep informed me that it would be my only offer. I asked for the figures they used to come up with that number and he said "We don't provide that information." So basically, they were refunding the cost of the warranty. I feel cheated. They definitely misrepresent themselves.

Highly Disappointing. Dishonest company and its culture. Due to long scheduling time on repair of my washing machine, I was authorized by a customer service rep to call a local Tech from my area. The local tech spoke to Choice Home Tech on 888-373-8042 to provide his diagnosis. Choice tech asked the cost of repair from the local tech which was 269.18+tax=287.01. Then Choice tech told me it has been authorized and we are good to go. Now I get an email that your claim is authorized only for 137.50 which is not acceptable. Choice tech should have told me right in the beginning that this is higher than their pay rate and I may not be reimbursed full rate. I am very upset and planning to take a legal course to deal with this. Bad experience.

Your response to claims is very prompt. Technicians are scheduled in a timely manner and information on the claims are posted relatively quickly. My problem is that unfortunately a lot of issues that have needed repair turn out to NOT be covered by the policy. So we're not getting the help we had hoped for with the warranty.

Excellent service by my case mgr, Frieda **. She responded immediately to my request for further consideration in the replacement of my dishwasher. Apparently it was felt that although my expensive $890 3 yr old Bosch would continue to have issues in the future making part replacement not worth cost.

The control board in our oven went out and the oven is old enough that parts are no longer available. Choice said it would have to be replaced. The minimum cost of a new oven with the same features is $1200 and Choice only offered $550 to replace it. I am upset that Choice will not pay the actual replacement cost. I was not aware of this when I chose Choice Home Warranty. Not happy!!!

If I could give a zero I would. I have Refrigerator that over 15 years old and all they want to do is but a bandaid on it. And not replace it and they will lie to you about what time the people will be out to look at it. I hade a clam for 7 to 11 and they did not show up the first day and then the 2nd day they did not get there till after 12. Do just don't trust them. Just save your money you pay them and buy whatever you need. Thanks.

Washing machine backed up into the hallway bathroom...toilet overflowed...others would not flush... The bathtub has a slow drain now... I hope it will work itself out within the next day or so. The technician was very thorough and he explained the process and he did a prognosis of what could possibly be wrong before he started. He ask if you questions. I answered the questions and he began the work and did an awesome job. I am ever so grateful.

The agent said he would be sending an e-mail confirming the information that we had covered during the phone conversation and this is what I got. I believe I got a fair rate for the coverage I was told I would receive. I will know when I have a claim and if it is covered the way it was explained during the phone call.

I have to say that I do not like being told what I need and the gentleman that was helping me kept on telling me this. Ended up getting the bigger of the policies regardless of what I wanted, then was tried to be pressured into getting it for 3 years.

Water was leaking from the bottom of the toilet. The work order was originally approved. (Simple wax seal replacement). However, the plumbers estimate snowballed into a flange, replumbing drain lines, wax seal and then the work order was disapproved leaving me with a big plumbing bill and I still owed a co-pay. Typical home warranty tactics. The plumber wins, the home warranty company doesn’t pay and the consumer loses. This is my third home warranty company and I will not continue the contract after it expires.

This is the reason why I will not renew my contract, instead of going thru the wall the technician preferred to go through a stone column which you won’t cover. I’ve heard nothing but bad things about warranty companies and since I’ve been underneath your warranty blanket I’ve seen nothing but bad things. Updated on 04/13/2022: Adding another home. The person I spoke to was very helpful. The process was very easy and setting up my new Debit card and info on payment date. However I really need a book and information on the services and a phone number to do a claim.

I purchased this product in December. I've called them twice: once for the furnace, and once for an upflush toilet system. They are horrible to deal with. I was stunned at the long list of exclusions for furnace repair. They have an even longer list of exclusions for plumbing repairs. Reading those exclusions it becomes clear that there is nothing they would cover at 100%. I'm guessing they never pay more than 25% of any repair. My battle with them is just beginning. DON'T FALL FOR THIS SCAM.

I have this warranty with them since October. My AC they say is leaking and they don't fix leakings. They told me when I bought the warranty: we cover everything up to 15,000.00. I specifically asked about heater and AC, the salesperson told so much hope all are covered and I didn't bother to read. Now they sent me their "policy". It does not cover much. BE CAREFUL when you sign in. They cover little stuff after the 60.00 call fee. The agent that called me SOOO RUDE! Completely opposite of the guy that sold it to me in the beginning. My money back? No I just gave them some monthly money for NOTHING, plus the 60.00 for NOTHING too. They not even try to find the leaking IF IT IS A leaking. BAD PEOPLE. STAY AWAY.

Order was to include checking my leak in the master bedroom toilet but plumber only had faucet leak in hallway bathtub. The plumber was able to fix the problem in the bath tub but said I should think of redoing my plumbing completely due to age and advised me that my flush mechanism in my toilet is of poor construction but again was not on his repair list as I had accomplished with Choice.

Customer service, lack of communication. Communicating effectively. My first claim appointment had me wait all Sunday waiting on them to come fix my washer and dryer. The repair person called Choice and choice failed to call me to inform me that my appointment was canceled. I received an email earlier Sunday morning reminding me of the my upcoming appointment Sunday. This happen again Monday. Repair person didn’t show and choice failed to inform me. I wasted another day waiting. Reschedule my appointment with Gleaning hand repair person, Anthony called 20 mins before coming to my house. He was very informative and it took him no time to fix my washer and dryer. I did not have a problem with repair person. I do have a problem with Choice company. I left Home Shield think Choice would be better but after this experience I will be going back to Home Shield.

Once the company came on location they did a fantastic job and the young plumbing company representative was a very professional personable person, very helpful. Would I request them again?..ABSOLUTELY. So, what can home Choice improve on??? TIMING. I had to wait till the next day before a service company could come out. Not being able to operate in my home for more than 48 hrs and having to wait for a service company was terrible. A couple hrs is one thing, but 48 hrs is another. CHW needs to assure service at least within 6 hrs...consider this remark.. Thanks.

My oven/microwave oven would not heat properly and it was determined that I needed a thermostat to properly heat the oven. The appliance is 20+ years old, but I have never had any issues with it. Choice decided not to fix the oven and replace it instead. They offered $599.99 as the replacement cost towards the new oven combo that costs approximately $3000.00 (GE website).
I denied the offer and was assigned a claims person who offered $800.00. After expressing extreme disapproval and frustration, I was told it would take 30 days to receive my check. For the years I paid this policy, this is NOT WHAT I EXPECTED and am extremely dissatisfied. Ironically, the shipping costs about half of the amount they offered and I have to pay someone to install it. This is a rip-off.

I purchased a total plan with Choice Home around April of 2018 which I was required to pay one year in full. I've never used my warranty until recently when My AC stopped cooling. I filed a claim and Dexterity Heating and Air out to check the problem. They told me there is a possible leak but can't tell where the leak is coming from. They also told me that my compressor needs repair and continuously tried to sell me a new system. Choice Home sent me an Email stating that it's a pre-existing issue. I told them that I just purchased the home and my AC was inspected and passed the FHA inspection. They put me on hold and never came back to the phone. I tried calling back but continue to get put on hold and then hung up on. I called later today and was offered a $400 check ONLY if I renew my services with them. Really?

This company is a scam. DO NOT USE THEM!!! I have had more issues for them to try and help solve my issues than them actually helping me. I spent $2,250.00 and it has been more of a problem than a help with every appliance issue. It seems like a bait and switch and the company has more "exceptions" than actual things that they will fix. For almost everything they have such as washer and dryer and water heaters and such it says INCLUDES "parts and components." EXCEPT:" Then there is a long list of what they do not cover which is almost everything. I have recommended this company to several friends and family and they are all having the same problem. I am now taking this issue to Texas Real-estate commission complaints. Do NOT use this company.

I had a 35 year old water heater that was leaking and they denied my claim. The contract did say they don't cover anything that retains water, it's a 35 year old water heater, do they think they last forever, it's just their way of getting out if paying to replace it. They offered my 150.00 to replace it, but instead I cancelled my policy and the money I got back covered it. Do not use them. If you decide to READ all of the fine print.

The technician was very nice. When he was running late he called and let me know. He came in looked at the washer and knew what was wrong. He ordered the part and told me when it comes in in 7 to 10 business days someone will come to replace. Collected the $45.00 and said have a great day and goodbye.

On March 14th Choice Home Warranty was contacted because our air conditioning unit was not working. An appointment was set up to send out sub-air cooling out on Monday March 18th. The Technician came out and fixed the A/C unit. Less than an hour I noticed the unit was vibrating and keeping loud noises. I also noticed wires was sticking out from the unit. I contact the technician and was told they will come out on the 19th of March. Two technicians came and tried to fix the unit for about 45 minutes. After which they informed me that the blades and motor that was installed was the wrong ones and that was cause of the vibrations. They took out the blades and motor that was replaced leaving the unit empty with only the case. I contact Choice insurance company to find out the timeline of when the A/C unit will be fixed. they informed me they can do nothing that it was a old unit.

After the technician made the necessary repair recommendations, Choice Home Warranty denied the repair. I called Choice Home Warranty with the intent to cancel my account because I was angry. But the customer service rep was so nice and she actually offered me several options. In the end, I had a solution that worked for me. So, even though something may come up that is not covered by their warranty, they will continue to help and guide you. It made me feel as if they really valued me as a customer. I have not experienced this with an insurance company before.

Choice dispatched the electrician to come out the next day. However they did not receive the work order in time and they came out the following day and took care of the situation. I appreciate the fact I did not have to wait on the phone to make my claim for an hour like with American Home Shield.

After switching from a very well known home warranty plan, we had our ceiling fan go out. I contacted Choice and explained the situation. I was contacted right away by Fowler Electric who was able to send a tech out the very next day who fixed the fan. I was pleasantly surprised by the efficiency of Choice.

I had water leaking under my kitchen sink. I called CHOICE Home Warranty and within 48 hours a plumber came to my home and found that water was leaking from my garbage disposal. He called Choice and got approval to replace the disposal. Cleaned up and then gave us a demonstration of how to properly use the new disposal. Very efficient, professional and friendly. On February 3rd, I had noticed a problem with my HVAC system blowing cold air when on heat, I called a local HVAC company to come take a look at it and determine what was wrong. On February the 4th Vaughn Heating and Cooling sent a technician and determined that my A Coil had began to leak out of the coil itself. That same day I contacted Choice Home Warranty to file a claim under my warranty plan. Policy #: **. On February the 5th, Joe Vaughn called Choice Home Warranty to discuss his diagnosis and explicitly stated that corrosion and rust had nothing to do with the system failure. Instead the reason for failure was natural expansion and contraction of the Coil caused by heating and cooling; normal wear and tear.
Furthermore, with the leaking being on the coil itself, made of copper, cannot chemically rust. Later that day Choice Home Warranty denied my claim for rust and corrosion. Claim #: **. I appealed their decision that same day. They assigned a case manager to my file, named Christine **. Beginning February 5th until today March 19th, I communicated back and forth continually asking what I needed to provided to approve my claim. She never once answered this question directly. Instead I kept sending pictures and what my HVAC technicians diagnosis proving that the corrosion or rust were not the cause of the issue.
Again, never indicating what I needed to show in order to approve my claim. I sent a picture showing rust on the spill plate at the bottom of the coil. Upon seeing this picture Christine immediately denied my appeal. This proves nothing to aid their claim as rust here is normal wear and tear. Choice Home Warranty also had the ability to send out their own technician to provide a second opinion. They never did so. I am unsure what evidence they have for denial of my claim and are in breach of contract.

Unfortunately I bought the home warranty policy from CHOICE HOME WARRANTY was effective from May 2018. Tactfully they offer some discount in order to collect whole year premium in 2 installments. They said this type of warranty can be cancelled anytime and I can get the prorated refund. As far as coverage, I got their so called premium policy to cover all systems and appliances. After that I had a total 3 service calls. Every single time a technician came to the house and asked for $45.00 trip charge. Once they got their trip charge they took some pictures and sent them for approval of CHW. The first call was about the water heater. I clearly stated what the problem was. But when the technician sent the estimates they declined the claim and said that problem does not cover.
Later on I had a blockage in the kitchen sink drainage system. A guy came and tried to open it up. But he couldn’t do it and left my home saying that it is too difficult to fix. Took my $45.00 again for nothing. Finally today 3/19/19 they came to fix a kitchen sink water leak and 2 other issue on shower handle and bathtub water lock system. Again paid them $45.00 and afterward they came out with the same results the problems does not cover. My question is why do they write my claim if they do not cover? Why I should I pay trip charge to someone for doing nothing?
This is absolutely ridiculous and fraud business practice. Initially they said they cover all systems and appliances. They said they will fix it or replace it. That's their slogan on their website. Now I asked them to cancel the policy and refund me the prorated amount. They said I can cancel my policy but I can't get prorated refund. That's the most horrible experience I ever had with any service providing co. I am writing this review for my fellow Americans so they can stay away from this ridiculously terrible co. THE CHOICE HOME WARRANTY.

Setting up and getting a company to come out was very fast and easy. The repair guy could not repair the fan and stated it need to be replaced. He wrote on the ticket we should receive a comparable fan or $100 if we chose our own fan. Choice came back and said everything was approved to replace the fan. I explained we wanted to choose our own fan and was offered $70 not the $100 we were told. Other than that we are happy with everything so far. Wait for the repair guys to come out to install a new fan.
