When I made my claim, choice warrant was very fast to act. They make sure they choose the best technician to handle your need. They always make a follow up to make sure the work is done. I had a problem with my garage opener and the technician Jesus from Winston garage was so professional and ready to help. Will always recommend. Beautiful experience!

I am not happy with my last warranty claim experience. I have a washing machine that is making noise when it spins again after being "serviced" last year by a Choice technician. They obviously did not do the job well since I am having the same problem. A new technician came out to look at the issue and when he took the top off, he saw that there was a screw (tub bracket and screw) missing and tied with a couple zip ties. The new technician believes the previous technician lost or broke the bracket and screw and tried to "jury rig" it. The new technician submitted a claim for me to get a new tub bracket and screw but it was denied because I could not "prove" it was done by the previous technician. I even tried to dispute the claim but told according to the rules it is my responsibility.
While the cost is only $71, it is the principle of the thing. I shouldn't have to stand there and watch a technician do the work. That is what I am paying Choice Home Warranty for. It is obvious that this was done by the previous technician, but I was told I would have to take it up with them. I think this is unreasonable and not fair. So, I really don't want to argue about it and will pay the money to get the parts myself, but I will remember this when it is renewal time.

Joseph from Gifted A/C handled my problem with concern and expediency! Not only did he send a great team, but knowing I couldn't sleep without A/C, he sent them the evening before the scheduled appointment. They went above and beyond adding freon and replacing a capacitor, they also changed my filter and vacuumed the coils! Thank you, again, Gifted A/C, and Choice Home Warranty.

I paid $65 for Jay your repairman to come out and tell me it couldn’t be repaired. And this is a wall mounted microwave above the range. And they’re telling me they won’t install it or hang it on the wall. Unacceptable. When you replace the water heater, don’t you install it? They’re sending me a check for 194.96. -$65 gives me 120.96 to buy a $500 microwave not acceptable. I took a five year warranty program. Told my son-in-law to buy a warranty program. Sent my friend Bert Moleneau to get a warranty program. I won’t be referring anymore people. Unhappy Customer. I believe the way I was treated unfairly, and wasn’t reimbursed sufficiently. Tom

Sent wrong company out first time. They showed up. Ask the problem.Collected fee and said they don't do that type of repair for Choice home warranty and left within 5 mins. Said they would input info in and have another company come out. To which they didn't, they put in they they serviced unit and left. Called back in to choice home warranty after few days and set up for a different company to come out and after a couple hours got an email saying they were sending the exact same company out.
I called for 3 days straight. Every number goes to voice mail and not 1 call back. Sent emails to which it said they were looking into problem and would get back to me and they did but would get that they were still sending original company back out. Got 3 more emails saying same thing and got angry and started sending angry emails and finally someone called me right back and set me up with different company to come out. He showed up and seemed knowledgeable. Told us problem and would submit repairs needed and order parts. Ironically email comes back saying repair is not covered. We need a dampener to make house cool properly and it's not a wear item.

I have had Choice since 2014. I haven’t had to call that many times. Things have usually been good. I called this week about my fridge and am waiting for the repair person to get the parts and come fix it. The only problem I have had in the past was with a water heater. My house was built in 1980 and was told that certain things needed to be done to meet today’s codes. It would cost me $1500. So, I just went to Home Depot, got a water heater and put in myself. What else would a 74 year old person do.

I was extremely happy with the service from APEX AC repair. They were efficient and communicative regarding what needed to be done. They found a small leak and added Freon. The technicians recommended maintenance on my unit and I will be happy to use them for this service.

Choice has taken advantage of my family on two separate occasions. The first involved my dryer a couple of years ago. The most recent involved my HVAC unit and being without air during 100 degree heat wave for over 6 weeks. Choice sent an unqualified contractor during my wait to repair a light switch and even that was not repaired properly. I have had to pay out of pocket on three separate occasions for my HVAC unit due to having a 92 yr old living in the house and needing air for obvious reasons. Choice procrastinated with the repairs for over 7 weeks until my policy was at the end and wanted me to renew. It is shameful how Choice continually deceives customers and take the hard earned money of people.

Representatives have been thoroughly knowledgeable in their inspection, assessment, and determination of necessary actions to be taken in either repair or replacement systems. I would highly recommend this agency to anyone who would have need of total household systems maintenance.

The claim creation process was easy and fast. An HVAC repair company was assigned very quickly (less than 4 hours on a Sunday) and an appointment was automatically set 4-days out. The technician arrived within the promised window and was able to diagnose and fix the problem in the compressor during the visit. The reason I did not give them 5 stars is because the appointment was set to 4 days out. The HVAC was down during a hot week. The job assignment should have been given to a company that can address the issue within 1-2 days. The company assigned was based 1.5hours away from our home’s location. I’m sure there would be better choices that are closer to my location who would have been able to get to the job sooner. Staying 4 days without AC with little kids and indoor temperatures reaching 88 degrees at night is not a low priority call in my view.

My freezer went out about 6 pm. I emailed Choice Warranty which I have been with for three years and got a response right away that a technician would be here the next day. Technician came and repaired it. Great service. They have repaired my air conditioner, my microwave, clogged sink. I am very happy with the choice I made purchasing this warranty.

Good at appliances. Bad at plumbing issues. At plumbing stoppage took 2 months to fix. Sent out multiple plumbers most didn't know anything about plumbing. Have had a water leak for 1.5 months still not fixed. Had plumber that was going to fix it. Choice said needed 2nd opinion. Been waiting 1.5 weeks on that still not happening. No other plumber yet. I can not shower, do laundry, wash dishes or flush toilet. I have no water. It's off because of leak!!!

Our A/C went out/ We have a medical issue at the house/ CHW approved us to go outside their network. We hired a TECH/ They were here with 8 hours / Found the problem/ Submitted to CHW/ They approved the repairs / And fixed that night....THANK YOU CHW.

Very good service. Gary was very knowledgeable about microwaves. He could tell by different electrical smells, what was wrong with it. He seemed like he had a lot of industry experience. He called before coming and was on time and courteous during his visit.

The technician was excellent! He was knowledgeable, courteous, and efficient. He let us know when he would arrive, explained what he would be doing, and how long it would take. We paid our deductible before his arrival, he completed the repair and then followed up to make sure everything was working.

I had a technician come over today to check my stove gas stove and I found out that the igniter is the one that's leaking the gas so now I'm waiting for them to come back with the parts to replace my old one for the new one.. I think the guy's name was Kurt. He came the technician. He came to evaluate the situation with my stove. He was very nice and explained everything that he was doing and needed to be done to get my stove back and working order so now I'm just waiting for them to approve the igniter for my stove so he can come and replace it...

I have not had issues with CHW. Technicians are assigned usually within 48 hours. The technicians are very professional and knowledgeable about the product they are repairing. I had two companies before CHW and I don’t plan to change. My siblings now have CHW.

We requested a service and we had an appointment scheduled for a couple of days later. Our service was on time and had the accessory in his van for a quick change. Our refrigerator has been working as normal, after weeks of our refrigerator not working properly.

This insurance is a waste of money. Choice has never been able to find a technician to come to our house to service our broken appliances. We have had to find our own technician. We have filed claims and they always find a reason to deny them, even when the reason they deny does not agree with the technician. We will not be renewing with this company. Sorry we wasted the money.

My A/C stopped working on a Wednesday evening. A repairman came to my house from Marathon Heating and Cooling at 1015 am the next morning and fixed it. He said he had to replace a couple fuses and repair some wiring. He was prompt, efficient, and professional.

Well, this technician was very professional and actually did a thorough examination. He was pretty sure what the problem was by hearing the loud noise coming from the air conditioner. I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by Choice Home Warranty and their assigned contractor, Clockwise Plumbing in Dallas, Texas. My recent experience with a simple faucet leak claim has highlighted their lack of professionalism and unwillingness to fulfill the terms of their contract. After reporting the issue, it took two weeks and one cancellation before the contractor finally showed up. Upon arrival, the technician examined the faucet and began asking irrelevant questions, such as whether I had installed the faucet myself or if it came with the house, and whether I was the original owner of the property.
I explained that the faucet came with the house and that I was the second owner. The technician then informed me that the faucet, a Delta model, originally had a lifetime warranty but that the warranty was void since I was not the original owner. He stated that the faucet would need to be replaced and claimed he would seek approval for the replacement.
However, after spending 10 to 15 minutes in his van, the technician returned and shockingly told me that I needed to contact Delta myself to request a replacement faucet. When I pointed out that the warranty was already void and that his suggestion made no sense, he simply stated this was what his company instructed him to do. To add insult to injury, he demanded the $60 service fee before leaving, despite providing no resolution or repair.
I then contacted Choice Home Warranty directly, expecting them to resolve the issue. Instead, they echoed the contractor’s absurd recommendation, insisting that I contact Delta for a replacement—despite knowing full well that the warranty on the faucet was void. It is beyond frustrating that both companies refused to take responsibility for addressing the issue, leaving me to handle a problem that should have been covered under my home warranty agreement.
When I signed up for this home warranty, I expected that any claims I made would be handled professionally and that repairs would be completed in exchange for the service fee. Instead, I was left chasing an expired manufacturer warranty—a task that defeats the entire purpose of having a home warranty in the first place. If I wanted to deal with manufacturers directly, I wouldn’t have paid for this service.
This experience has made it clear that Choice Home Warranty and their contractors are not committed to honoring their contractual obligations. Their actions—or lack thereof—demonstrate a complete disregard for their customers and an unwillingness to provide the service they advertise. I strongly advise others to avoid these companies and save themselves the frustration and wasted money.

Everything was great when he came, replaced a part, BUT the heat pump still makes the same noise as before. I sent two requests through the website with no response, so I just called today and got a person who said they would take care of it. She could not tell if my follow-up requests went through the website o.k. Can you check.

CHW always find a reason not to cover the claim. We signed up for five years and have four accounts with them. Two accounts are coming up for renewal and we will not renew. The reason why, eight out of ten claims are not covered. As advertised, if there's wear and tear, trust me, it's not covered. They will find a reason not to pay for it and you can not talk to the department who determines that. They give you a no sense reason and done with you. I would not recommend this company. Go somewhere else.

The technician sent to fix my a/c was very professional and knowledgeable. The process from diagnosis to fixing the problem was very quick and settled within hours. Choice home warranty covered the entire cost of the condenser motor. I was pleasantly surprised.

Why do we have a home warranty if we are going to get denied all the time. My issue was my refrigerator was not cooling effectively and efficiently. This was due to normal wear and tear. It was denied as there was a tear, from normal wear and tear, in the seal. The tear, from normal wear and tear, caused the other issues. I was not happy with the initial agent I was assigned. When I emailed the other agent involved in my case, I never received any reply. Another agent contacted me back and was professional. This agent explained all the issues and was polite about it. They were informative and didn't seem annoyed to explain. They were willing to listen to my rebuttal and didn't shut me down. Overall, It was never covered.
I most likely will take this to arbitration and then cancel my coverage as this is the second denial. I have been a loyal customer to this company and have not abused it. I have fixed things on my own vs filing a claim. Not satisfied with the outcome. The best they could offer me was $200 if I purchased a new one on my own.

Choice Home really went 100 yards to see that a Service call was answered in a timely manner, customer service was in touch with me from the time I called in my claim until they was able to find a technician, I was offered the ability to find a technician and I would be reimbursed for it but before I decided to consider the offer they had located a technician. I think this was great service due to the high call for technicians doing this heat crisis. Thanks Choice for the Quick Response for my air conditioning problem. From the customer service to the technician I received the utmost consideration in every aspect.

The technician was knowledgeable about the issues, he was straight forward and not pushing additional services that were not really needed, quick in the assessment and completing the task. The dispatch team did have to reschedule my appointment a couple times because of conflicts with schedule!

The technician was the first to actually fix my shower after 3 other plumbers came out and collected the copay. Choice needs to stop wasting money on substandard workers. The last guy actually cut a hole in the back of my shower wall to not even fix the problem.

Got an appointment the day after I put in the claim. The technician can at the very last hour of the time frame. He had to order the part, so the problem is not yet fixed. Choice was excellent in locating someone fast. It has been 2 days since the tech arrived so just waiting for the part to come in.

HVAC not cooling - downstairs unit. Compressor/Condenser Fan unit not activating. Air Now Heating and Cooling arrived at the beginning of the service window. Diagnosed the problem very quickly - broken control wire. The tech checked the rest of the system for function and refrigerant pressures. Great experience.

Not happy that the plumbers had to sit by & wait, wait, wait until Choice approved & gave them the go—ahead. And then they couldn’t proceed with all the necessary work because it wasn’t approved. This was while my leak continued! Don’t recommend Choice Warranty.

Technician did a great job in locating all the issues; it’s you guys that are not honoring the repairs. I’m very disappointed and not sure with the great service I have received in the past it has turned to this. And that’s being FAIR! Tech arrived within the time frame, couldn't really do anything so we spent 85 dollars for them to come out to check the system. We had some standing water in our crawl space where our ducts are so now we can’t get them checked. Wish y'all offered service to fix the plumbing/water in the crawl space, it would’ve been convenient but other than that really please with him letting us know instead of just being like fake and saying some “everything looks good”. I called to ask if y'all offer those services & someone told me that if I'm not in the livable space then no. So now we’re out 85 dollars. Have another problem & now will have to spend another 85 dollars for when we get the problem fixed.

Surprisingly, it was simple to put a claim in and the service text actually showed up and did a real good job. My previous home Warranty I’m still waiting for service text to show up. Following the claim on the app was simple. Was able to pick my own times.

Updated on 08/15/2025: The second tech that was sent to diagnose the problem with my refrigerator was on point, my problem is my family being without a refrigerator from August 1 until now still probably having to wait another 3 weeks. I’ve lost food waiting on the response time from Choice Warranty which I’m not being compensated for.
Original: August 1 My refrigerator stopped working. 8/5 Tech came out to look at it. I was told to unplug it for 4 hrs then plug it back in to see if it would work because it would give the compressor time to cool down. That didn’t work so in the meantime I had to find coolers to put ice in to try to save some of my food and medicine that have to be refrigerated. Then they sent an email saying a technician would come out on 8/11 to get a second opinion. Meanwhile refrigerator not cooling. I can’t wait forever. We are elderly people.

I broke my glass stove top by accident. In order to see if it was covered I filed a claim with CHW. They were quick to send a tech out to evaluate. A day or 2 later, I was informed by phone and email that it was not covered due to normal ware & tear or, equipment failure. A decision I more or less expected. It was all done quickly and professionally. I couldn't ask for more.

Workers (Ahmed & his partner) did not, introduce themselves, they had no paperwork to show, no ID for themselves or the company. I only got first names when I ask. This is the 2nd time I've used my service and I plan to keep it, but in this day and time, we must be careful. Problem solved. Yes. Thanks for that. I have been with Choice for a couple of years, and I haven't had anything but positive interactions with them. When I file a claim, it is handled promptly. For example, the past two months have been hectic. My Tankless Hot Water Heater went out, and a few weeks later, one of my AC units stopped working. I found out that the problem was electrical. And last but not least, hopefully, my refrigerator and freezer went out today. Despite everything going on, I haven't had any issues with filing a claim.

Choice Warranty is awful. Will never deal with them again . It was 7 days and still no technician had to find one on my own. I was promised in the contract 24 to 48 hrs. That did not happen. My technician tried to e-mail his diagnosis. Would never go thru so I mailed a copy of his report. Still no results from CHW. Would like to be re-imbursed as soon as possible--my #**--work order **. A little disappointed regarding the time I opened a claim and when the technician arrived. We took his advice and called him with the codes that appeared on the display. He said he would call me back and never did. His return appointment was canceled, and we were assigned a different company and technician with a different appointment date. The second technician arrived on time and completed the repair. The second technician was polite and proficient.

Choice Home Warranty is not a good choice. They don't allow you to choose your contractor and they are not customer-oriented. If you have an issue, they will appear to try to resolve it. They have nothing but resolution managers who only manage to give you the run around. Yes, they have a few good technicians, but they also have companies that don't do the work. I was a new customer who requested service for my refrigerator and they assigned a company that pretended to fix the issue. It has been approximately 1 months trying to get Choice to send a competent service provider. When the first 🥇 company failed, I requested a different one; they didn't show up for the scheduled appointment. I was told that I could pay for a company I choose to come out to provide a report and they would reimburse the service fee. I did and they denied the claim. Where are the service fees I paid for their assigned companies?
I requested a refund and am still waiting to get the money back. They are not to be trusted. I closed the account so that I wasn't charged for further dissatisfaction. The company they sent, Home Appliance Care in Lorton, VA, has not claimed any responsibility for their inaction and incompetence. I am filling complaints everywhere possible. Something needs to be done about scammers and businesses that take advantage of people.

There is no repair review to do since Choice refused to do the repair "due to poor maintenance of my ice maker". The ice maker has never been repaired and was approximately 7 years old and worked until it didn't. It was kept clean and in working order so I considered it to be properly maintained. Choice will almost always have a reason not to repair anything expensive and this is another example.

I decided to join Choice Home Warranty program as it was easy and problem free. I have been with another company and it was becoming more and more difficult to work with them. Having a household problem is a challenge in itself but to have to negotiate getting a company to stand by their contractual terms is not how l want to do business. I have not had to use Choice yet, in fact my membership starts September 1, 2025. I look forward to a positive and professional experience.

Our technician arrived within the appointed time. He called before arrival with ETA. Examined our issue, repaired our dishwasher and explained plan to maintain a several more uses of life for our dishwasher! Would appreciate this technician with any appliance issues in the future!

Filed claim. Stove last worked 7/7/2025. Was scheduled within a week. Repair tech two weeks out. Never showed. Called CHW. Had another scheduled the next week. Showed up as scheduled. Parts not available. CHW offered amount to be a Lowe's gift card by email. Still haven't received. Called CHW, was told that it would take up to 30 days for them to sent the gift card by email. Still waiting a month later. Not able to use range.

Technician was amazing! Performed the work with professionalism! WEnt above and beyond on their service they provided. They showed up timely and did the job with excellence. I was super impressed with the technician sent by Choice Home Warranty, by FAR he was the most respectful, courteous, clean, and knowledgeable repairman I've ever had in my home; mind you I'm 70 years old so I've had the need for a few repairs over the years. I called today from hearing about your company on Clark Howard podcast. In the past, I have used 2 different companies for home warranties. The first one was for a rental property. The second one was for my current home. I won’t mention the companies other than to say the one for my rental was better than my last experience with my home.
Today I called and spoke to Josh for info about their coverage. He was very helpful explaining the included items. There were many more items covered than in the past 2 companies. Also, to my surprise, the price was quite a bit less expensive than what I’d paid for the others that had less coverage. I usually don’t sign up on the first call, but with 30 day review period that I can cancel if I don’t like what I see, I am going with Choice Home Warranty for the next year!!

The tech you sent out arrived promptly on time. We went into the washroom and started the machine. After several starts and stops, it started to spin and it sounded a jet engine plus the rattling of the bearings. He stated that it was cheaper to buy another one than to try to repair all of this ones problems. I later received your notification that I would be receiving a Lowe's Gift Card for $406.00 to replace the machine. However, when I tried to complete the Service Evaluation form, I was unable to send it because the form required a copy (picture) of the sales ticket for the new machine. I can send it after I receive the car for the $406.00 because I need that to purchase the new machine, hoses, accessories, fees and taxes. Thanks for the prompt service and the tech to check it out.

We had a great experience with Choice Home Warranty. We had the faucets in our laundry room leaking water from the faucet junction with the water line. The water was leaking down through the wall and into our basement and dripping on our water heater off the water lines. We called in the work order and texted with a Choice representative to explain urgency. They assigned technicians who came out the next morning, first thing and reported to Choice their findings. Choice approved replacing the faucets and they went right to work. The technicians were both very courteous and knowledgeable and made the repair in short order. We really appreciated Choice getting technicians out so quickly and getting the repair done.

I had a problem with my freezer. I called Choice Home Warranty and submitted a claim. I got an email saying that they were going to be sending my request to a service company. There was an appointment set up for the next day. At about 11:30 am the technician arrived and checked the freezer and found the problem. He turned in the report to warranty company. That afternoon there was a email indicating that they had received the report and that they would be sending payment within 30 days.

Nobody, company or policy will be perfect. A prior issue caused them to lose my business - but after several months, I realized I may have acted too hastily. One issues, within multiple other claim (without a hitch) deserves a little grace. Jeremy ** LISTENED and acknowledge fault (on behalf of CHW), even though I did not even know him with my prior membership. Furthermore, he made every effort to make up for the past and to regain my trust and business. Most of the online sites indicate clearly that CHW is one of the best! But I have looked around and tried a few and I would say, "They are the best!!"

They denied my claim without any basis and so far waited 2 days to try to speak to a Case Manager. I would never recommend Choice Home Warranty. I submitted for a recurring issue with my dryer. The appliance has consistently stopped functioning after running for only a few minutes. Approximately two weeks after the claim was filed, a technician visited and diagnosed the issue as potentially being related to faulty sensors. He replaced the sensors and advised me to contact him if the problem persisted. Unfortunately, the issue remained unresolved-the dryer continued to shut off prematurely. I promptly informed the technician, who stated he would return in two weeks for further investigation.
Upon his return, he suggested that the control board might be the root cause and said he would order a replacement. I agreed to proceed with this solution, as my only goal is to have a functioning dryer. Since then, I have followed up with the technician multiple times via SMS, but he has been largely unresponsive. He claimed to have escalated the matter to his supervisor, yet I received no further communication.
To my surprise, I recently received an email from Choice Home Warranty stating that the claim had been denied due to "normal wear and tear." The denial was reportedly based on the technician's statement that he replaced the control board, which burned out upon installation. This is categorically false, the control board was never replaced, and no such incident occurred.
I am deeply concerned by this misrepresentation and was willing to cooperate fully with any investigation to clarify the facts. I also request a clear explanation of what constitutes "normal wear and tear" in this context, but no help from choice warranty representative, customer service is so bad and you will feel helpless. Think 100 times before going with choice home warranty. Cheers!

The technician was PHENOMENAL! The issue is my microwave is no good and they only gave me $194 to replace it but then they don't reinstall the microwave. You have to pay for that separately after paying a $100 service fee, not to mention you already paid money for the original contract. Being accurate and fair CHW has always interpreted the contract to work for them and not the customer. Had me to pay for a service fee and turned around and denied the claim saying it was not covered when in the request I stated that it was my exhaust fan over my cook top. I have been with Choice Home Warranty for almost 2 1/2 years. We have had several of our appliances serviced and I have been pleased with the technicians that were sent out to repair our appliances, I have only been disappointed one time. We had a refrigerator that needed a seal on one of the french doors. I was told that it appeared that we had done something to the door and damaged it, They said that they were having problems locating the part that needed to be replaced. I called the company that did the inspection of our refrigerator and got the part number. i then made a call the the manufacturer of the refrigerator and ordered the part. We installed the part and the refrigerator is door seals like it should.
I was disappointed with the fact that I had to pay for the service call and repair the refrigerator myself. Despite this issue I would recommend Choice Home Warranty to others, I really like the way they keep me informed of the status of the service call, the professional service techs and the quick way they respond to my calls. I would rate them a 9.5 on a 10 point scale.

My claim was denied, I made a phone call to speak with someone about it, still waiting on the call. The personnel that went to my house was more worried about offering other services than what he went to go fix. I spoke to him after I was denied the claim and he wanted me to hire him for a different service, I ask, "Would that fixed my leak?" And reply by saying he wasn't 100% sure that would fix the problem. So it makes me understand he was never there to fix anything, it was about him selling other services. So I lost 85 dollars and still have the leak on my roof.

I have been a Choice Home Warranty client since 2018, but have had to cancel my contract after Choice left me unreimbursed for $822 on my latest claim. Our A/C quit working 6/6, and we initiated a claim the same day. Sears Home Service was assigned our claim and came to diagnose the issue 6/11. Transformer was installed and control board was determined to be bad so a new one was ordered. I paid the $75 deductible and a follow-up appointment was scheduled for 6/13. The appointment was rescheduled 3 times (due to parts not arriving), but this is the second time we've had this ongoing issue with Sears scheduling an appointment ad then rescheduling it at the last minute.
Contacted Choice to ask for another contractor and were given the option on 6/19 of selecting our own contractor and being reimbursed. Contacted our contractor and they came the same day to diagnose the issue. The transformer Sears had installed was blown, so a new transformer and control board were ordered. I submitted the invoice for the diagnosis to Choice, and then received a notice that they had found the control board for $300, and that they approved the claim for $402.50 which was the cost of the control board and the diagnostic labor minus $75 for a second deductible. Parts arrived and were installed 7/1, but a contactor was also determined to be faulty and had to be replaced.
Between the diagnosis and the repair, the total for parts and labor was $1222.59. The invoices were uploaded to Choice to verify the repairs and the cost. Choice sent a check for $402.50. I called them to point out that this only included the control board and the diagnostic labor, and they told me that since a check had been issued there was nothing they could do. After surviving 4 weeks in June with no A/C, and then to be left hanging for $822, it just is not worth utilizing Choice Home Warranty. I'll gladly pay for my own repairs and get them done in a more timely manner.

This was my first claim opened and completed. I had an Air Conditioning issue that needed to be addressed. Pros: Excellent service by Hardy Heating and AC. Pleasant, professional, and experienced service. Cons: I was glad the correction to my problem was somewhat easy to find and correct but I was a little disappointed that it took 3 days before service could be scheduled. I was fortunate that the real warm weather had subsided so the absence of AC was not terrible.

Our overall experiences are good. Not that we have a lot of claims but, when we do, our claims are responded to right away, however it seems that no matter what the claim is for, it takes over a week to get a repair person. The few times that we needed help were for our garage door and our heating system. We were not happy that we had to wait over a week for a repair, but the repair people that came were very good and were able to help. We are thinking that you might not have many contractors in your network to not any in Connecticut as the garage repair company was out of New York.

It took almost 5 weeks to repair our microwave. It would have taken longer if I had not argued for 30 minutes on the phone. I have a 5 year service plan that I am going to cancel. I have an enough issue with Choice. I had a pressure regulator go out. I was told because it was not in the foundation it was not covered for replacement. In California most regulators are installed at first point of entry. It cost me $525 to replace. Why am I paying Choice for this kind of service.

Paid them $2500 for a 6 year contract with them. Got horrible service. They have the worst technicians at their disposal. Have been having a water leak issue with the HVAC unit, their technicians have not been able to diagnose the problem for the past 2 months leading to growth of mold all over the area around the unit. They found a flimsy excuse to root cause the issue as an incorrect install, independent contractors confirmed twice that that is not the real issue. I would highly recommend to stay away from these guys, they are out to fleece you.
I cancelled my home warranty with them after being a customer for 8 months and they have charged me a $50 cancellation fee (which is fine) but also all the money that they approved for prior claims ($364). So I paid $75 for every technician visit along with the $2500 up front, and they ended up paying zero dollars!!! Not to mention the case resolution officers and the technicians they send are downright rude. Based on the experience I have had with these guys, I am going to think 100 times before I go with any other warranty company.

I filed a claim for my ac unit tech that came out from Spooner was awesome. Air damper was bad and not covered by my warranty. That is a major part for the ac to work properly. Without it it kept the damper open all the time and was restricting air for the other damper to work properly, making it work incorrectly. Why would this not be covered being it makes the ac work harder. If not replaced it could cause the main ac unit to go down and need replaced. I would think your company would rather pay 355.00 vs 14000.00 for a new ac unit itself. Makes no sense.

By far the worst home warranty company I've dealt with. They will try anything to get out of fixing anything. They send repairmen who don't speak English. Then, since they can't converse with you to understand the problem, will go back and tell Choice something incorrect and not cover your repair. You then lose $75 that you paid to the repairman because that amount is due when they show up. Trying to call into Choice and speak with anyone is a crapshoot. I've spoken to one person who speaks coherent English. All of the others are overseas. Very hard to understand what they are saying and in turn don't understand what you are trying to communicate. I do not recommend this company at all. I would be money ahead just paying the purchase price towards the actual repair. Buyer beware.

I hope to have Home Choice Warranty to approve my claim soon. The warranty company took a little longer than I expected but they sent me a message saying why it was taking so long. They were trying to match me with a good repair person. So far I am pleased with this company.

I am not exaggerating when I say I was terrified when I went down to the basement and saw a huge puddle of water that had clearly come out of the AC furnace blower motor sort of area. I filed a claim on the CHW website right away (it was evening) and the next morning they had already booked an appointment for me with a technician on the following day. He was super nice and professional and diagnosed / fixed the problem pretty much immediately. I don't know how CHW always books the best technicians, but they do. I received a prompt call back after leaving my request on Aug. 4, 2025 for scheduling a dishwasher repair. The only reason I did not give a 5-star review is that it is very hard to hear your representative because of the background noise. I asked if I was on speaker phone, but she said it was just terribly busy. I have good hearing and she spoke up a little more clearly and we were able to complete our call. But, any client that you have that is hearing impaired would have a VERY hard time conducting a business call with your company. So, I would hesitate to recommend your services to any friends who have an issue with their hearing. Other than the background noise, I would fully recommend your company. The representative was very nice, I look forward to receiving the Email with the appointment date and time.

I purchased 2, 3 year warranties with Choice Home Warranty, and I have been very disappointed with their follow through and with their level of service. I recently submitted a claim for a broken a/c unit. I received an email from them saying that a service appointment was scheduled for 13 days later. My husband and I live in central Florida, we are seniors, and he has a heart condition. I have been calling their "customer service" number non stop, and I still haven't gotten a call back. This was a week ago. They don't have a customer service department. You leave your number and hope for a call. Since then, I have sent emails (which get bounced back) and continued to call, with no response whatsoever. I have been scammed and stonewalled, and I strongly urge you not to choose CHW. It's the wrong choice.

The contractor who came out to service my refrigerator made three trips to my house to complete the job. He was very prompt, came at the time promised. I was very pleased with the quality of his work. I had used other home warranties in the past and became dissatisfied after filing my first claim.

We’ve been with Choice Home Warranty for 3 years now, and when we need them the most, our AC unit went out recently. They have done everything in their power to deny replacing the unit, they want to apply a bandaid on top of a bandaid, even though their 2nd company they sent out mixed 2 different types of refrigerant which is illegal. Their customer service is horrible. I will never renew with Choice Home Warranty. Legal advice is now being taken. BEWARE of this company.

I am not sure how this company has 4 stars. I have had them for 2 years. Our dishwasher broke, I paid them $100 to come and take a look at it and they were never able to provide someone to come back and fix it. I replaced the dishwasher myself. Then our icemaker broke. I paid some one $100 to come take a look at it. They never came back to fix it. We were on vacation and came back to electrical issues. I paid $100 for them to take a look at it. Choice denied the claim and determined that while we were on vacation in the middle of summer, our house was struck by lightning. How do they know that? I don’t even know that. We were gone. But they denied the claim so we paid $1000 out of pocket and an entire weekend of work for my husband to fix the issue himself.
The final straw is our ac unit went out on Saturday. It was 84 degrees in our house and unbearable to sleep. 24 hours after I placed a claim, they were still trying to dispatch someone to our house where I would pay $100 once they got here and then they would leave and I would have to schedule them to return to fix it once CHW approved the claim. This could take days and after 24 hours they still did not have anyone to take a look at the situation. I suggested in the claim chat that they send Holiday Beach Mechanical bc that is who maintains my ac unit and they tell me they are not one of their vendors. I say, your vendors aren’t responding and it is 96 degrees outside. They pat me on the head and tell me they “understand my frustration”. I say, never mind. Please cancel my policy. You have done absolutely nothing for me except cost $778/yr and charge me $100 every time something breaks and never fix anything.
They then tell me they cannot cancel anything unless I call. Well, what happens when you call is they tell you they will give you 2 months free etc etc etc. No thank you. My dishwasher was broken for 6 weeks until I gave up and just bought a new one. It is 96 degrees outside and I don’t have ac and there is no urgency on their part. BTW, I called Holiday Beach Mechanical and they came the same day to fix my ac. I did not have to wait. I didn’t have to pay $100 for an initial visit and wait for them to assess whether on not they will fix it. I didn’t not have to wait for someone to comeback. I called, they came and they fixed it. Choice Home Warranty was the biggest waste of money and time.

I have had Choice Home Warranty for almost two years. Made a claim a few months ago for a part for my wall oven. Paid the service call fee up front, got a call from the repair person the next day, got fixed after he got the part. Now - dryer broke. Normal wear & tear. Had to find my own technician. They said after 48 hours they would look. A week after I opened the claim, they had not tried. Now, got the diagnosis - unfixable, part no longer available. They lowballed the cost of a new dryer (Wholesale???) and then, when they adjusted it, said we would get the money in 30 days, after we accepted it, not mentioned in a call.

Once I mentioned I want all my money back and will disputing she said she won't give anything. This is how this company operates. This company is full scam. STAY AWAY and a find a better warranty company.
People warned me about this COMPANY. I should have listened. Company like this should never be allowed to operate the business. Don't fall for the sales pitch guys, they never mention anything over the phone, nor you see a contract. All they say is all your appliance is covered, force you pay the pay. They need to be reported to the authorities, that will be the next step.

In 7/26/25 I submitted a claim for both showers to be repaired. On 7/29/25 I received an email stating that a plumber would be here on 8/7/25! That’s 10 days waiting for repairs and that plumber is 5 hours away and only comes to my area twice a month! How would you like to wait 10 days to shower? So I went to website and started a conversation with Choice and was told to close the current claim and contact customer support in the morning to open a new claim so that I could pay upfront and get reimbursed by Choice, so I did that.
On 7/30/25 I contacted customer service and was told that they could and would not reimburse me because they already contacted a plumber and made an appointment! As I’m informed this is their policy! Per Jan in customer service someone would reach out to me via email within 24 hours. As of 8/4/25 not one email or call received! The worst customer service ever!!! Choice has you pay upfront for your policy but can’t provide repairs for 10 days.

Several hours later, it was making the loud noises again so I called him, he asked me to record the noise so I videotaped the noise & called him back. He stated I had to make another claim, so I did. My well pump went out this Friday morning. I started a claim , was told 24-48 hours for someone to get my order. Well I’m still waiting was told could now be longer. I have five people in my household. I live outside in a township of 2000 people. Plenty of people service well pumps in my area I told them that. Oh we get the best person for the job. Yea right. Still waiting and waiting. I'm thinking you try living without any water for that long. Yes I have bottled water to drink, but no baths or laundry. Boiling water on stove for dishes. Choice was very prompt in obtaining a technician to repair our wall oven. However, selection resulted in an initial 7 day wait for the first visit. If a Company that selects a job cannot do so for an almost one-week delay, it should have a protocol established that an automatic search for another company with a very short initial service call be tried before accepting the long one. The technician was very prompt, courteous, and well experienced. He diagnosed the problem immediately, went to the office to obtain the part, and returned that same day to make the repairs. Very high accolades for the DMV technician.

I needed my ac fixed and they couldn’t find me a contractor for 2 days and when they did I had to wait another 5 days to get it fixed and I was in 90 degrees heat. Choice Home Warranty is so easy to use. Filing claims online quick response time. Within usually less than 24 hours. Very responsive to claims management. I’ve had them for 10 years and I’ve never thought of switching. Our stove went out on a Thursday. Service came on Friday and decision from Choice Home Warranty to replace the stove came on Friday. Our new stove will be installed on Sunday. They determined that the cost of the repairs given the age of the stove was not worth it so we are now getting a Lowe’s gift card to purchase a new one.

Technician arrived on time. Quickly found the problem with the toilet's leaking at the seal with the floor tiles. There was a "larger" issue which CHW did not cover! This was to replace the flange which was in terrible shape. CHW did NOT cover this replacement item which was in fact the cause of the leak. That disappoints me a great deal!!! The guy was experienced, a great fixer, and a very nice person. Glad to have met him. Not glad with CHW's decision to not pay for the flange replacement.

This was the first time using Choice Warranty. I woke up to not having hot water on Friday morning. I called and made a claim which was very easy. I received a confirmation email with a time timeframe the company that will be coming out to see the water heater. The company did a fantastic job at diagnosing the issue. Choice Warranty was able to approve this claim by Saturday morning and the company came back out to fix it. I was very impressed by both companies working together especially during the weekend.

Choice reminds me of other warranty companies. They get your money, but you do all the work finding Technicians. In addition they charge you the $50 fee! I was a member of Choice before and I was told things had changed that's why I'm trying to see if anything had changed. As I mentioned before, why are you assessing a fee and I'm the one on the ground finding technicians. In my case, the initial case revolved around my AC not working.

The service provider that came out was very professional and prompt. They were able to quickly diagnose the problem. Parts had to be purchased in order to fix my problem. We are so frustrated with Choice Home Warranty ever since we submitted a claim for the Air Conditioner. They forward the claim to a third party and then the third party takes its own sweet time to come. When they did come they did nothing and asked for $100 service fee while nothing was repaired! Then they came back the next time after three days and checked the u it and the technician said that it has to be replaced and he would update this status to the insurance provider. When I called to pay the service fee using my cc I was told that the claim has been closed without any update!!
Now neither Choice Home Warranty nor the company that came to repair the unit are responding. This sounds like a total scam of an insurance company. We have been paying the premium for over a year now and when we tried to get some service we are being given the run around. Be very carefully and don’t waste your money on this company. There is nobody to talk to and just a system that directs you to their website so you can’t get a person to speak to and complain. BEWARE OF THIS SCAM COMPANY.

I got this insurance to feel safe about appliances, water heater and air/heater unit when they go out, but no one ever told me there are charges to the installer that are not covered by this warranty. Along with my $100 initial fee I was planning on paying I had to pay an additional $300.00 to get water heater installed. This caused me money stress that I thought I had it all covered. I was happy with the service received from JAS Appliance Repair. They were prompt, kept in communication with me, and respectful. As they didn't end up having to make any actual repairs on either claim (couldn't find anything wrong in my A/C and it seems to be working, and the washer ended up having to be replaced), I can't honestly speak to technical qualifications, but they seemed thorough and I would call them again if I needed their services.

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the way my recent air conditioning claim was handled by Choice Home Warranty. On July 7th, I submitted a claim for a non-functional AC unit in my condo located in New Haven, CT. With outdoor temperatures exceeding 90 degrees, I expected a timely response. Unfortunately, that was not the case.
After 24 hours with no assigned technician, I contacted customer service and was informed that CHW had up to 48 hours to assign a provider. While disappointed, I agreed to wait. However, when the 48-hour window passed without a response, I followed up and was told to leave a callback number. No one ever returned my call.
Due to the health risks of prolonged heat and continued inaction, I notified your team that I would be hiring a private AC company to resolve the issue and would seek reimbursement for the expense. Despite that, I continued receiving updates from CHW, including an email on July 11th stating that SGY would be scheduled for service on July 15th—eight days after my initial claim. The appointment was then pushed again to July 17th.
Adding to the confusion, on July 15th I received an automated email asking me to rate the technician who had not even shown up yet. This kind of operational disconnect is unacceptable, especially in emergency conditions. I ultimately hired a local HVAC provider who resolved the issue promptly. I paid $510.48 out-of-pocket for a service that CHW failed to provide. Given the annual fee of over $500 for your coverage, I received no meaningful support or value from your company during this process.
This is not the first time CHW has had trouble locating providers in the New Haven area. If you cannot reliably serve this region, you should not offer coverage here. This experience has been deeply frustrating and disappointing. I will not be renewing my contract and will actively discourage others from using your services based on this experience.

With the amount of money that I pay for coverage, it surprised me that the water pressure valve is not covered and I have to pay out of pocket. I was told because it is on the outside of the house, it is not covered even though it is a part of the plumbing.

Tried to get fair value for replacement of my oven. Learned Choice doesn’t give you replacement cost based on retail value. They give you replacement cost based on wholesale. Which is a far cry from what I need to cover even 50% of the replacements cost of a new oven. They suggested to save money to purchase a scratch and dent item from Best Buy. Plus they do not base their decision on all the facts of the product I own, only its operational features. Size, style, color, brand have no bearing. So if you have a high end appliance (which I do) they don’t consider that. They think even a low grade appliance like something that would be sold at a Walmart type business is totally acceptable…. I feel totally ripped off.

The technician arrived within the appointment window and called to confirm before arriving. He was courteous and got right to work. He quickly found the issue, but checked other things to make sure nothing else was wrong while he waited for the air conditioner to cool down. Then he confirmed the system was working by measuring the air temp in the house vents. He explained what he had done, what to do if any other problems came up, and the warranty policy. I would definitely recommend Hertless for any HVAC repair and want to thank Robert for making us comfortable while he was here with his friendly but professional attitude - and cool and comfortable after he left!

Within 5 minutes they had inspected the area, found the problem, took photos and explained the situation to me. However, when they presented their findings to the Warranty Company, the company did not accept their findings. Because of the situation with normal wear and tear the company made an issue of the findings.

I had a dryer issue not heating up. The actual issue was lint blocking airflow way up in the roof. This caused reduced airflow and much increased drying times. Samsung technicians advised to test the unit with vent removed. On manual heating cycle, the drum T reached 200 F easily within 5 minutes. It hardly reached 120 deg F before after 5 minutes. The technician should have done the test but he was in a hurry. Today, we removed the lint way up in the roof and the system seems to work fine on a partial cotton load. Samsung dryer reached more than 200 deg F and manual dry cycle when vent was disconnected and it did not reach even 120 deg F before, I am satisfied at this point. I realize that you have to know and get involved in issues. Fortunately. I have a PhD in Chemical Engineering and can understand the issues better than general public.

I signed up for a five-year plan with Choice Warranty and was pleasantly surprised to receive a sixth year free. Initially, I had some reservations after reading negative reviews online, but my experience has been nothing short of excellent. Over the past year, I’ve contacted Choice Warranty three times for different household issues, including plumbing and my electric stove. Each time, a technician arrived the very next day and resolved the problem efficiently, without any hassle or unnecessary questions. Chris was sent to repair my dishwasher which was totally dead after power outage. He did a good job. No problems with it being covered. Unlike last repair call for my refrigerator They denied coverage even though it self restarted and was working fine when they arrived. Frustrating. They found evidence of prior damage. Refused to work on it. Was like they are looking for reasons to exclude.

So before I chose them I research and I said ok. They seem good. These people sent some jack leg man that didn't know what he was doing and then went back and lied about what was going on with my ac unit so when I explained to Ms. ** she gave me the run around like I was lying. She was very rude and didn't want to hear what I had to say. I even did what she told me to which was get a second option and send pictures. It was nothing compared to what the tech. said was going on and she still didn't want to reimburse me or even send someone else out to fix it. They scam people and take your money. Please stay away from these people.

I've been trying for over a week to have a customer rep call me. When I set up meeting for a call a few days ago, they never called... Then left me an email saying they tried to call, but I had the phone we me during that time and did not receive any calls. Since then, I've called 6+ times and left a call back number. Finally got a hold of one rep and he said I would receive a call/email w/in 24 hours - NOPE.. Called again today and left my number... Someone called me back then disconnected the call. So now I've called again and waiting again. I will NEVER renew with CHOICE... I'm so done.

I was very disappointed that with 100 degree heat, I called from out of town because my 80+ year old husband was home alone with 3 dogs. I called on Thursday and they could not schedule an appt. until the next Wed (6 days later). Not until I offered to pay extra were they willing to come out Sat. My warranty visit was $250 instead of $75. 🙁

CHW quickly assigned a technician who set an appointment and came as expected, but the unit was “iced” and a reappointment was set to view the system clearly. At that appointment the technician examined the entire system and found 2 leaks in the exchange unit plus extensive rust. The report was sent to CHW who quickly accepted the report and will replace the failed unit at their cost. Unfortunately, the condenser unit and peripheral items have to be replaced due to newer requirements which have been invoked by govt. regulations. The condenser and peripherals will be at the owner's expense. The owner accepted the responsibility for paying the added expense. Now the parts have been ordered and we await receipt of the entire system. CHW and the technician company have been extremely helpful and quick in responding.

This company are scammed. They say they cover your home but they just take your money with lies in return, can't believe they would do a disable vet like this. They said they can determine when a fault can happen, I am a electronic Engineer as well and all they do is lie. If you are Active military, a veteran or Mason don't use this company at all. The kill part is I was told all the stuff I pick was covered, now they saying it was not wow. They should be closed for lying to the public

Great price. Great coverage. Friendly agents. Simple enrollment. Very comprehensive. Happy with coverage. No claims yet so will update review after first claim if any. I downloaded their policy and found it written in unusually clear language with good contact information and nice summary page. Priced is reduced for longer fixed terms and free months after added for referrals. Nice!

J ** sold me on a 6-7 year home warranty policy in 2022, that you specifically offered additional coverage to for my second refrigerator second stove, and water fountain in my outdoor patio area here in the state of Nevada, the city of Las Vegas, in the desert where it is hot (this is a key point). Now, two years later, I have an appliance failures & based on the claims decisions regarding my second refrigerator and water fountain, I find much to my dismay, that they aren’t actually covered in one way shape or form due to the inadequate warranty coverages you applied to my service contract that totally ignored true coverages available & region where I live from the start. These inadequacies are represented by the following claims denial I experienced in June and July of this year.
1st claim in June 2025 was denied because water fountains aren’t covered and what was listed in my additional coverage was “Whirlpool bath“. 2nd claim in July 2025 was denied on the second refrigerator because it covered normal wear and tear and the technician wrote it up as failure because of excessive heat. Well, I said that my outdoor appliances were in a patio and I live in Las Vegas Nevada, where it’s the desert and it’s perennially “HOT”.
Therefore, I was initially sold a policy that included additional coverages that in one shape or form did not meet my needs and from the start of the policy, we’re not completely explained, misrepresented, never going to be honored and/or were overlooked to get my $3,330 warranty fee. These facts and the useless appeals process will be reported ASAP to the Better Business Bureau, Google and Yelp review platforms, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and wherever else you promote your Home Warranty services to bring awareness to these shoddy practices and and lackluster customer service.

I had had another Home Warranty service for years and if I used them twice in the 2 homes I lived in was the most. I found talking with your representative Mathew he was very knowledgeable and informative, I signed up and now will be calling my existing service to cancel because of your much lower rates and monthly pricing.

Do not use Choice Home Warranty! They do everything in their power to not pay for things to be fixed. It is a sham company and the ceo is also a sham. Should not even be in business. Horrible, horrible, horrible!
