Initial repair scheduled with Metro Heating & Cooling Pros. Went out for repair and told my son he needed to get a part. My son paid him the $45. He never called for returned and he did cash the check. Claim was reassigned quickly, which I appreciate your hard work. ADP Maintenance & Janitorial was sent out. It took the repairman less than 5 min to solve the problem and no part needed to be replaced, He also made a follow up call to see if the water heater was still working properly. May want to rethink using Metro Heating & Cooling Pros. Thank you for your service and your quick responses.

The customer service experience with Choice warranty has been nothing but a bad experience. My warranty expires 9/30/2020. I will not be getting another warranty with this horrible company. Of the claims that I have submitted only a handful have been authorized. The major were not authorized. The compensation provided to keep me as a customer wasn’t worth time time and effort to fight the appeal. This company is horrible. They have more vendors that responds to issues than my last company which I like.

My AC broke when temperatures are in 90s. I called you guys and was told that I can go ahead and get it repaired. Online claim portal was not working. When I submit bill of 349, you send me a check of 120. Are you kidding me? I pay 1200 dollars to get 120 reimbursed? You guys bragged being user-friendly when I moved from HWA to you. It is a waste of money and lack of trust.

I want to take the time and thank Choice Home Warranty for taking the time out and evaluating my case for my HVAC repair... They had a experience HVAC tech in minutes to check my system, evaluate the system and within minutes the problem was sent back to Choice where they made a decision to replace my compressor... Again thank you and I look forward in continuing my service with this awesome company.

Choice Home Warranty is a rip off. They found every reason to not warrant common problems. I had my claims assigned to service people for the copay. The techs that came to my home would tell me before they even looked at the problem that Choice Home Warranty would say no to repairs then they would try to up sell me their services. This happened five times. Do not, I repeat do not buy this warranty. I bought a three year service agreement and six months into it and they refused to prorate a refund. Horrible service. Worst warranty company I have ever had.

I called for information about your home warranty. Greg ** was very informative and answered all my questions. When I told him my age he told me about the Senior discount policy. I decided to buy the warranty and happy that Greg ** will be my case manager.

My air conditioner stopped working. A technician came out and found no Freon in the line. He told the Choice representative that there was no sign of rust or corrosion in or on the lines. The Choice representative said he would get back to me within a half hour. About fifteen minutes later an E-Mail was received stating the repair was not covered due to rust and corrosion. It is beyond believe that someone 600 miles away from my home could say that there was rust and corrosion when a technician examining the line said there was none.
I appealed the decision. It took eight phone calls and two Emails before I was able to talk to someone. The phone calls all are sent to voicemail and it took eight days for someone to contact me. The response was that rust and corrosion is not covered. However I could have seven pounds of freon placed in the line and have it examined. I was told the cost of freon, $1500.00 plus the cost of the examination of the line would not be covered by my policy. She also stated even after this any repair would probably not be covered. My decision was to replace the unit rather than spending $2,000.00 to repair.
Not one cent was spent by Choice for this claim. So much for air conditioning coverage. Reading the coverage for air conditioning there is no mention of rust and corrosion not being covered, They referred me to another section where it is listed under limitations of liability. The technician said that Choice will find a way to not pay for the repair. He further stated that I should save my money and not purchase a home warranty. This is good advice. This is the same review I sent via Best. Best responded that someone from Choice would get back to me as a result of the review they published on May 30. I have heard nothing from Choice. After my A/C went out and cost me 1300 dollars I thought to myself that I should get a warranty to cover this type of stuff. The following day I purchased a warranty from Choice and they went over all the disclosures of what is covered and what isn't. Two weeks go by and my water heater goes out. What luck, but this is what I purchased the warranty for. I call Choice and create a claim. My claim gets denied because 1 month hasn't gone by since purchasing. I was never told this was a thing. I was told I was covered going forward. I have since been reading more and more about this company and it seems they will do just about anything they can to dodge claims. They only disclose information if it allows them to dodge a claim. It's shady and I will be asking for a refund to move to a better company. I spent 1200 dollars on a warranty that won't honor claims when I could have used that money to just make the repair myself.

I have asked 'not' to be contacted so many times, by phone, cell phone or email, and I've been totally ignored. The calls keep coming and soon you will lose a customer for all this harassment. I 'know' when contracts expire, so again I ask, to be taken off your email and phone lists. Do not phone or email please!

Juan was the service person who came to look at making repairs on my washer. He was very professional, and within minutes told me the problem with the washer. It was going to cost too much to repair, and was going to let the insurance company know. He told me they would offer me cash to put towards a replacement & would be contacting me the following day. I did receive an email from Choice Home Warranty the next day, and I am now waiting for a check from them. Great follow through on the service call, and putting a refund in place for me.

This was our first time to use Choice Home Warranty! Our clothes dryer was not heating and drying. We called Choice H W! The Choice serviceman came that same day! Our problem was fixed and the dryer works! We only had to pay the fee for the visit! It is a good feeling to know that we have a professional company to contact for problems. I have our primary residence and a rental property and a house we’re doing a fix and flip. All three properties are now covered with Choice Home Warranty. I am a strong proponent of home warranty and have used archer companies over the years. Choice covers more and is less expensive with a better cost per claim deductible as well. To offer a home we will be selling, it’s an additional incentive to a prospective buyer to know that for a year, their new home purchase has a protection against any of the major systems malfunctioning. That’s peace of mind!

Updated on 06/13/2019: I was told by a manager named Rudy on June 12th that he would return my call and tell me the status of my claim. I then called last night after not hearing from Rudy, the lady informed me that corporate was going to call me within the next 24 hours. I finally had a technician come out yesterday June 12th and he placed an order for some parts. So again it's going to be another 7 to 10 days before the parts will be here if they arrive. I cannot get any type of resolution to this issue, I've been fighting with the company just to get callbacks, information and cooperation. Also the corporate office has not returned any of my emails or request for them to call.
At this time there has been no resolution except the parts are on order but they can't guarantee when they come in. So in one more week it will be 30 days without hot water. The promises that were made in their pamphlet or booklet that we received along with the claims of great customer service have fallen very short. All I'm asking is for resolution to my problem.
Original Review: My claim was made on Mar 22 of this year. Each tech assigned was designated unqualified to make the repair. I actually received an email repair was approved. Multiple calls money and time spent with no results. They show no intent to help but they sure were glad to take my payment.

I was very satisfied with 5 Star Air. They did a great job. What I am having a problem with is how long it takes Choice Warranty to get some one out to the house. Called on May 30. No one came until June 7. That is 8 days with the air not working correctly. 5 Star Air said they did not receive the call until June 5. My brother was thinking about getting the insurance until he keeps seeing how long it takes to get someone to come out. This need to improve greatly.

Harris County Appliance - They call before they came. They were on time. I didn’t have to call them to find out what time they were coming (they gave a time frame and stayed within). They didn’t make a mess and didn’t complain about how many jobs they had been on. He came in, checked it out, put everything back, call it in and told someone would be calling and yes they did call and said we would be hearing from Choice. In the past your people come out talking about the company, want payment, look at item, say they will get back and don’t. I’ve cancel all accounts but this was because of this. The people you send out don’t really care all they want is the 45 dollar and talk about how much they are going to make on a job. This man never spoke on money and didn’t asked about his 45 until he had completed. This was a professional company. Not someone off the street.

Service tech never came back to repair damaged line despite call by Choice; was double charged for two service calls when I was informed in writing by Choice that I would not be charged for second call; Final determination amount for replacement of dishwasher was far below what replacement cost was. All in all it cost me more to use this than if I had just purchased a new dishwasher on my own. Was not satisfied at all.

This people are not trustable, they do not deliver what they sell. They offer repair or replacement and they just offer you a small amount of money that does not cover the appliance. You have to go buy it, pay delivery installation and on top pay 60 for the visit.

CHW was very responsive to my claim. The contractor arrived the next day as promised and took care of my A/C right away. With the exception of my initial call to CHW, everything went great. When I first called in, the customer service representative was kind of tough to understand. She was very nice but she had a strong Indian accent. So, making the claim took a while to get going. Other than that, everything was great.

It was frustrating to stay home all day and not get a phone call that they were going to be late. They did not get to our home until 5:30 or later and our expected time frame was between 11a - 3p. Once the service was completed, we were pleased. The technician was very apologetic and he took care of the problem right away.

I spoke to a CHW employee in Feb 2019 and ended up taking our a home warranty with them. I explained to the rep that I was dealing with a chronic illness and wanted to be sure that I was getting the best possible coverage because I wanted to avoid hassles. When I needed to use the warranty three months later, every appliance that I called about had an exclusion, garage door (doesn't cover springs); refrigerator freezer (not located in kitchen). When I called to cancel the policy I was placed on hold for over 20 minutes waiting to talk to a manager. A supervisor, not a manager, came on the line and was very rude. She said she didn't see what the problem was.
She stated that no policy covers everything and I should just let her get me on a different plan. When I explained that I didn't want any more dealings with CHW she said, "well I'm just trying to help you." We went back and forth for 10 minutes until I decided I wouldn't discuss it anymore. I was on the way to the doctor while talking to her. When I got to the doctor my blood pressure was elevated from the conversation. I am so disgusted. I still don't have my garage door or freezer repaired. I feel as though I was ripped off through a bait and switch game. The first technician didn't even explain that there were different plans. The supervisor was extremely rude and I am out over $100 which is a lot when you're on disability.

AC repair - Excellent service by the technician. Was able to identify the issue & fix it efficiently. Would definitely recommend Choice Home Warranty to all my friends. Would help if we get timely reminders on regular house maintenance things like duct cleaning, ac vents, filter changes, etc.

With smaller claims they are good and will sometimes go above and beyond. With larger claims they will look for ways to get out of paying for what they should. They will even reverse cause and affect to deny a claim. Lower service call fee is nice.

Air Professionals are the Best. I initially thought I was having problems with my thermostat but that was not the problem. South Carolina was having a heat wave that week and they were able to fit us in earlier. It was 88 degrees inside when they arrived, and my dogs were having trouble breathing. They were able to troubleshoot the problem and explained what was wrong in laymen’s terms. I would want them to come again if I had an issue and they will be doing my twice a year checks. I am very impressed with the level of service and professionalism Choice offers us.

I used to have One Guard Home warranty and they covered for once in a year HVAC service (cleaning of evaporator and condenser coils). I switched to Choice and was told by the representative that I was getting a better deal, but Choice does not have the once in a year courtesy HVAC service included. Also, much of the coverage for HVAC are very limited.

I wish you could just call instead of needing to submit claims online. It took 3 days of emails to confirm an appointment due to decisions of coverage. Obstruction to float caused the leak. Repair was completed in less than an hour. Good thing this was not an emergency.

Choice Home Warranty has been a life saver! I've had many claims over the 5 years I've had their coverage, and they just keep getting better and better! I called about the disposer not working, on Wednesday and they had a contractor here to replace it, on Thursday! They are easy to work with, courteous, and extremely responsive! Best of all, they are affordable and have never turned down a claim! I love their excellent service and will be a life long customer!

Bosch Brothers of Punta Gorda FL serviced our a/c. They were great. Came down a day earlier than I expected. They were super. They found the problem, had the part in their truck and promptly and courteously repaired the a/c. I could not ask for better a/c techs. Thank you Choice Warranty. You could not have got a better a/c company than Bosch Brothers of Punta Gorda FL and I could never get a better warranty service than choice.

But I must say I just signed up today with Choice Home Warranty and the salesman that took care of me was so professional and not pushy at all but explained everything so well. Worker arrived early in the time frame. Worker was fast and efficient in determining the problem. He also had the part needed to repair the washer. He had the washer fixed in less than a half hour. I would recommend Affordable Appliance to my friends.

The contractor that came out to do the repair was wonderful. Very professional and did a great repair job, but I had no idea that the fine print on the contract basically says "we cover very little". It seems I went with the wrong company for coverage. I'm doing more research to switch to a better home warranty program. Pays to shop around, that's for sure!

Happy with your service. What I did not like was your initial reaction to my claim. When I described the problem as "water leaking" your reaction was: " water leaks are not covered !!! " - end of story. Only because and when I protested was my claim assigned. As it turned out it was condensation from a faulty AC System.

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. When I purchased the warranty nothing was said about $ limits so why have a warranty when I pay service tech $60 then get told we will pay $500 and your out of pocket is $941. I could fix myself and saved my money that I paid for warranty.

$1200.00 dishwasher only worth $250.00 to buy another one for replacing is a rip-off to a retired man on a fixed income, not good. You try living on $2000 a month and paying $1100 a month for housing and other bills and having to replace a dishwasher for starting at $600 for a stainless one to match.

I called Choice Home Warranty at midnight for my oven that stopped working. They contacted Fix Smart Appliance Services. The technician came on time and explained everything to us. Now we’re waiting on parts. I so glad I have Choice Home Warranty.

We consistently have issues getting things fixed. They are eventually fixed but you have very unreliable contractors who waste your client's time and it's not appreciated. We reported that our garbage disposal was leaking on Thursday, 5/30/19. We could not use our kitchen sink as a result. We were told the soonest someone could come was Monday, June 3rd between 7-11 am. My wife stayed home from work (and she does not get paid when she does that).
By 11 am no one had come so she called the company to ask when they were coming. They said that we didn't answer our phone so they didn't come. They never called, but whatever. They then said that they could come between 1 and 3 pm that day so again she waited and they never came. They then would not return our calls. We called Choice and they got another contractor who came Wednesday, 6/5/19 and he was prompt and fixed the problem but we lost 2 days pay and had to wait 7 days without a kitchen sink. This is NOT the first time that a contractor has no showed resulting in a long wait time for service and loss of pay. Not happy!

In late May, we called Choice Home Warranty because our air conditioner quit cooling and they sent out an air conditioning tech the next day. He went into the attic and said we had a leak on the aluminum coils located inside a unit in the attic. He said he couldn't see the leak but that the coils needed to be replaced to stop the leak of coolant. He put a little Freon in the unit to get us through a couple of days of hot weather and left with his $45 deductible. Later that day, I got an email from Choice Home Warranty saying that the Choice Home Warranty did not cover the replacement of the coil unit because it was due to corrosion. How can they say it was a leak due to corrosion if the technician couldn't actually see where it was leaking.
I called and spoke with a Choice Home Warranty manager. He spoke with a very heavy Hindu accent while telling me our repairs weren't covered because it was lack of maintenance on our part that cause the aluminum coils to corrode. I told him the technician he sent out did not see the leak so how could he tell it was corrosion that caused the leak. He then told me "it had to be corrosion because that's the only reason the coils would fail". In other words, they knew before they ever arrived they weren't going to cover the repairs because they have a blanket excuse ready to deny all expensive claims! Save your premium cost and have the repairs done yourself by someone you trust!

I called company and they said the warranty does not cover the water heater. What is the use of this warranty program? It is a rip off - we are very dissatisfied with this plan! I do not recommend at all. They also take too long to answer - we called right away and we had to follow up 3 days later to find out that our claim was denied.

Choice Home Warranty is a scam, do not buy any coverage from this company. Our air conditioning unit was meticulously maintained for 18 years and when it was time to be replaced, Choice Home Warranty looked for every loophole to deny replacement of our unit. They sent a technician to the check unit out and the technician requested a leak test be performed. The money authorized by Choice Home Warranty was so minimal, the technician refused to perform the test. In the interim it left us in a 95 degree condo for 5 days. My husband is a disabled veteran and cannot sustain these conditions. They sent us a boilerplate denial and despite multiple phone calls they refused to help us. We pay $500 for our Choice Home Warranty a year and this company is a ripoff!

On June 1, 2019 I encountered my first experience with CHW. I called them because my refrigerator quit working. I received couple emails stating they were working diligently to find a suitable tech to send. Finally around 9:00 pm I received an email stating they were unable to find a tech and I was free to find someone on my own. On June 3, I called Whirlpool directly and they gave me a company to call that was located in my city. I continued to try to allow CHW time to find someone for me.
On June 4 I received another email stating they had found a tech for me but he could not provide service until June 13th which was totally unacceptable. At that point I called the company that was recommended to me by Whirlpool. My refrigerator was repaired in the morning June 5. In the meantime I lost over $1000 worth of food. Everyone I spoke with at CHW was very polite but were almost robotic in their response to me. We are off on a bad start with CHW and are seriously contemplating cancelling the policy. Time will tell if I will receive reimbursement for the work that was done.

HVAC repair - I was impressed with the job knowledge, skill and ability of the individual that was sent to my home. He diagnosed the problem, explained to me his assessment of the problem and what he planned to do to fix the problem. After he fixed the problem he gave me needed advice on how to properly care for my HVAC unit and how to prevent further problems. He was courteous and was on time.

The man showed up as planned but as soon as he came he told me he was new to using the home warranty and he didn’t know what would be covered. I did a complete walk thru and he said he still wasn’t sure. I currently still have electrical issues that aren’t fixed! Why did I purchase something that I can’t even use? They have fixed my ac unit twice in the last month. The first was an evaporator coil and cost me $250 out of pocket and the guy said the outside unit needed replaced. Then less than a month later the outside unit quit working and a new compositor was put on. The guy also recommended the unit be replaced. Overall it works but both companies have said it needs a new unit, were just band aiding the problem.

Your representative showed up at the arranged time. He diagnosed the problem, left to get the necessary parts and was back in hour. The new unit was installed and working quickly and without a mess. The service rep knew the equipment involved and was able to easily see the unit needed replacement. Good work.

I received a call with an appointment date and time, within 5 minutes of my request. The Plumber came the next day and did a good job and I would recommend them. The only reason this is not a 5 star rating, is that there was some miscommunication between Home Choice and the plumbing company and the claim was originally denied. The contractor that came out was very rude and disrespectful to my wife. Belittling her like she didn’t know anything. I will never allow them to set foot on my property again. We wanted this air conditioning issue resolved but all we got was a patch to make the issue better for a short while.

We have been with Choice Home Warranty for a year now. Our AC started having issues last summer. Choice Home Warranty got a company to come and fix it but that was like pulling teeth. However, this year our AC is not working. We put a claim in May 23rd. We were told that someone would be at our home to service our AC May 28th. We decided to double check with the company that was supposed to come to our home and service our AC about the time they were supposed to be at our home. The company notified us that they did not have a work order for us from Choice Home Warranty. Which is a bit confusing because we had a confirmation email. We spoke with Choice Home Warranty again and and they acted as if they did not know what we were speaking of. Choice Home warranty sent out the technician the next day.
The technician said that we needed a new motor on our AC. He notified Choice Home Warranty that we needed that part. But the motor was replaced last summer. Choice Home Warranty then told us that we had to produce a receipt showing the motor was replaced. Which is a bit confusing because the motor was replaced by their technician they sent to our home. We submitted a copy of the receipt showing the motor had been replaced. They took almost another week to approve us to get the motor replaced. So we are going on almost 2 weeks with no air and it’s very hot where we live. The technician came to our house, put freon in our AC. The air worked for one day and was running hot again. My husband then called Choice Home Warranty again. Everyone he spoke to acted as if they had no clue what was going on. He asked for a manager and told the manager he did not want the same technician to come to our home.
The technician was acting incompetent and trying to get money out of us because he said Choice Home Warranty doesn’t like to pay him for his work. Choice Home Warranty told my husband we would have to pay another service fee for a different company to come out. Which is crazy because they are sending out shady technicians. So the manager said that they would waive the service fee and found a different company near our home to come out. The new company was supposed to come to our home today. My husband called the company to make sure they were coming. The company informed us that they did not have a work order for us and that they did not do work for Choice Home Warranty. So my husband called Choice Home Warranty and spoke with a manager. The manager lied and said he called the company and they didn’t answer the phone. Really ironic.
We still have no clue what’s happening with getting our AC back working. Everyone that we spoke with in customer service and management was very lost and couldn’t answer any questions about anything. Every one needs more training and needs to stop lying about everything. We are convinced that Choice Home Warranty does not want to fix nor replace our AC because our warranty expires at the end of July. This is the worst experience ever! Do not purchase a home warranty from this company!

This is the most absolute waste of money I have ever spent. I literally have flushed my money down the toilet! I have had two terrible experiences with Choice and currently still trying to get one resolved. First my AC stopped working, I reported the claim, they sent a technician out who did run any diagnostic test, he just did a visual test. He based his diagnosis off of a visual, in which Choice denied the claim. I had a second opinion come out, who actually ran a diagnostic and advised what the issue was, which was completely different from what the Choice technician advised. I called to advise Choice and was told, unfortunately we have made a decision and the claim is still denied. I proceeded to go ahead and have the AC repaired.
I called back to express my how unhappy I was, and the "senior" claims representative advised that the representative should have never told me that and that they wanted to help, but since I had the system repaired without their authorization they could only offer me $150. Even though they clearly admitted that the representative gave me wrong information, and they admitted that the technician did not do a diagnostic test, they still denied the claim.
Problem #2, my refrigerator started cooling intermittently, so they scheduled an appointment in which the technician never showed, after several back and forth the technician finally showed up 2 weeks later and 3 hrs late for the appointment. He advised it was the motherboard. He replaced the motherboard and said everything was working. The next morning we realized that now it was not working at all, we immediately called the technician back, he played dumb and stopped responding. I called Choice and explained the problem, they advised that they would send the technician back out. Well after a week with no response and daily calls and emails to Choice, they advised that if the technician does not respond they will do something else.
I called back the next day and the representative said the exact same thing as the day before. I advised this is unacceptable and we have been without a refrigerator for now 8 days. The representative advised we have to give the technician 7-10 days to respond. I explained I had to throw everything in the refrigerator away. I DEFINITELY do not recommend Choice home warranty! Do not waste your money!! S.**

I am having issues w/ our HVAC unit. The technician sent by Choice was great and this is no reflection on him. The tech said he thought I had a micro leak and needed some refrigerant. The claim was denied over the phone in less than 5 minutes. Then the technician (who thought CHW was wrong for denying me) did an electronic device leak test. His phrase was that this electronic will definitively show if there is a leak. He performed the test and "NO" leak was found. I call back Choice and their CSR told me the claim was closed and to file an appeal via email. I informed her that the denial was based on a leak which doesn't exist.
I asked to speak to a manager, waited 15 minutes only to be told none was available (that's BS) and that a case worker would be calling me in 24-48 hours. I am sorry but in today's world of communication, waiting for an appeal to read while they can deny a claim in real time is crazy. If you can deny a claim in real time why can't you review an appeal in real time. Lastly, no one from Choice would speak to the technician, which also seems crazy. We are so done with these people. SAVE YOUR MONEY PEOPLE.

There was no hot water. CHW did not follow up or assign anyone to fix the problem after Pipe-It-Up failed to fix the heater. Never called me back. I had to contract with outside plumbing service at great expense to my family. This after paying for service that I never received. Very unsatisfactory performance.

These people never fix anything they come and grab the $75. deductible and then denies your claim for some crazy made up reason. Don’t do it. Save your money and pay someone else. CHW found a tech in a timely manner and the communication process was great. The tech called me and we were able to set up a time for him to be here and he showed up on time which was another good point. This is why I gave this experience two stars. I was TOLD by the tech what to do to fix the problem. I did it and it still isn't cooling properly. I don't know how you find techs in your network for people in the area they live in but I feel like I paid $75 for something I probably could have used Google for. I have this warranty with CHW to have a tech come out and FIX the problem. Not to tell me what to do and that should work and it still doesn't fix the problem. So I guess I will have to pay another $75 service call and hopefully the tech will FIX the problem and my refrigerator will cool to the proper temperature. I guess the two stars should be for the tech but I feel like CHW found this guy and I have to go with who CHW chooses technician wise.

I am quite satisfied with the claims people, however, the first technician came and assessed the situation but never called his diagnosis in to the claims center. I tried several times reaching him but was unsuccessful. I then called the claims center to report that I had already been 1 week with no refrigerator. They also tried to reach the technician but were unsuccessful. They then assigned me a new technician who came out promptly and called the diagnosis from my home. Before he even left, the claims department called & said that they would either replace the refrigerator or do a cash buyout. I now can pick the refrigerator that I want.

The problem is with a broken water heater. However, the resultant date for service received via email is a full week out - June 11. This is an unacceptable period to be without hot water!

This company is horrible! Do not choose them as your home warranty. Our AC Unit went out. They sent someone to our home and right before the tech even took a look at our unit he started trying to sell us on a new one. Then he made the statement that this warranty company RARELY covers anything with ac units. So, he goes and takes a look and the next day I receive the diagnostic and a denied letter. They denied us because they said our Evaporator Coils were leaking Refrigerant and since it's due to rust they will not cover it! Our home isn't brand new, so of course there may be rust - so you might as well say you don't cover old homes. So, I escalated it to the manager.... Now she was a piece of work. She told us there is nothing they can do.
The issue was due to rust and that since our home is 17 years old we need to get the ac unit replaced but will not fix it! I told her the tech didn't even go in the attic to look at the coils.. So, how was it determined to be rust when he NEVER looked! I asked her to send the tech back out and do his job and look to make sure that's the cause and she refused. She said they will not work on our unit. Then the tech called us so many times after trying to sell us on an 8,000 unit when the fix is 2500. SMH!!!!
I am so surprised! I am 8 1/2 months pregnant. I have three kids who one of them is 1 years old. We live in AZ 100+ weather and they turned us away that fast, didn't even try to help us!! Didn't even try to actually do their diligence to see if it was rust. Horrible company! How do they not want to cover a 2500 fix! I don't have money for that. I will be canceling.

We have had to file two claims with CHW and each time they have gotten a technician out the very next day. The companies they use are very knowledgeable and friendly. Repairs were completed quickly and additional approval was given within an hour. We couldn't ask for more from a home warranty company.

I reported my AC for not working, they declined coverage for corrosion on a 9 yr old system. I've maintained my system annually and have done my part, as a 4 yr customer for my house and my rental, I will not be renewing with you and will tell others about my experience. I am a documented disabled veteran and don't know what to do now since this service was supposed to help in these situations. I hope someone calls me to make this right within the next 24 hours or I will go to every outlet I can including the BBB.

Air conditioner repair - First vendor scheduled was unreachable. Second vendor was scheduled by Choice for an appointment on a Saturday & didn’t show up. The vendor called first thing Monday morning & come out within 10 minutes & provided great service. The vendor told me that Choice can’t schedule their appointments for them. They apologized about the confusion. I requested service from Choice on a Tuesday and the vendor came the next Monday. It was very frustrating waiting that long for A/C repair!

I was pleasantly surprised to see the professionalism of the vendor sent to repair my Air Conditioners. First Luis diagnosed the 4 ton quickly repairing the condenser and contactor. Next, he diagnosed the 2 & 1/2 ton with a leak coming from the dryer filter. His company called Choice warranty for the approval to finish the job. After waiting for over one hour Choice determined not to cover the job. I the customer am without A/C. Since, I have contacted another warranty company and sure enough they would cover both jobs. I have to reconsider my Choice Home Warranty.

Extremely unhappy with the claim. My dishwasher could not be repaired and the amount offered to replace it was a joke. After talking to a mediator a slight increase was offered but it will still not cover a replacement. The response was done very quickly but I was told it could take up to 30 days to get a check. Long time to be without a dishwasher.

So here I'm sleeping and it's about 3:30 in the morning and I wake up in a sweat! I love to sleep in a cold environment so I get up and take a look and it's 77 degrees! Not good.... So I tried to go back to sleep... In the AM when I get up it's NOT working! I filed a claim with Choice Home Warranty. This is the second time with my AC and they told me Monday, It's Friday! I had decided that if I was able to locate a reasonably priced policy, acquiring it would be a good idea to help keep our expenses fairly stable. Joel ** was courteous & informative as he described what the policy would cover. He was able to lower the price which made the purchase a no-brainer. I was contacted before my contract ended and gave me an offer. They came every time I called them and sent very responsible people. I was very glad to renew Choice. The gentleman that I talked to on the phone was very polite and answered all my questions. I was never pressured to buy Choice and when I had a problem, they would take care of it and have the person coming call me that day and also email me with the date and time.

My reimbursement check was issued 2/26/19 but as of June 3rd I have not received it. On April 6th I called and was told I needed to wait "60" days from the date of the check to have a replacement check issued without a fee. On May 6th I called and was told I needed to wait "90" days to have a replacement check issued without a fee. I was assured a check would be issued the end of May. June 3rd I called and was told their checks are issued in large batches, our check was in the batch which takes 30 days to process. So I have now waited over 90 days and must wait at least another 30 days!! I am now on hold waiting for the supervisor's supervisor to answer my call. I have been on the phone for 30 minutes. My contract ends in August and I will not renew. What a waste of money this contract was!! Don't use this company!! Too bad I couldn't give them a negative rating.

I had a double oven that went out. I filed a claim and they denied it. The internal lock went out and the cooling fan. The tech thought they were somehow related. They denied the lock saying it was excluded under the exclusion of "door seals" which is crazy because the door seal is the seal outside the oven to keep the oven sealed right?! They are fraudulently expanding the definition of a "door seal" so they can deny my claim. I appealed and no one will respond to me. Apparently my only recourse is to go to Arbitration in New Jersey or hire an attorney.
After this experience I learned my lesson and read the fine print. There are so many exclusions written into their contract that plumbing as essentially not covered, neither is electrical issues. The only thing that was somewhat covered was our appliances but they have managed to weasel out of those. I'm so disgusted with this company. I will never use them again and telling everyone I see or talk to what a shady company they are. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND MOVE ON!!

Looking for a home warranty for your new house? DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! My wife and I purchased a new home and got a Choice Home Warranty plan with it. After moving in, about a week later we went to wash clothes and when the washer was full of clothes and water and went to the agitation cycle, it started grinding very loudly. As the washer was covered under my home warranty, I filed a claim with CHW. A service call was scheduled and after it was looked at by the repairman they scheduled, he said the washer bearings had gone out and that most likely the washer would have to be replaced since the cost of repair would be more than the value of the washer.
When the repairman asked about the details of the issue, I explained to him that we had just moved in and when we went to use the washer it did not work. Because of this, CHW denied my claim saying that it had to be in working order at the time of the home warranty purchase but that if we had a home inspection report that said it WAS working, we could appeal the decision. We DID have a home inspection report and in it it DID state that the washer was functioning properly at the time of inspection. I sent this to them and they STILL denied the claim saying that because we never successfully used it, they would not cover it despite the fact that the home inspection report said it was working.
Because we had no prior knowledge of the washing machine not working before purchasing the home and the home inspection report did not indicate any issue with it, we had no reason to believe the washer would fail which makes our claim valid and should have been covered immediately and without question. If they can't find a fine print loophole to get out of covering your claim, they will just give you a straight up denial, even if your claim meets contract conditions.

Rude and indifferent. Phone rep couldn't care less. She got the claim information wrong and when I tried to correct it, she then got testy. She refused to correct it and began to argue about some internal limitation which I could care less about. The tech, however, was very good.

2 days wait time on a technician to fix an AC is too long of a wait time especially when I am dealing with 90+ degree weather. My home was unlivable for 2.5 days. The technician was delayed due to double booking so I had to wait almost 3 days and the warranty company wanted me to wait until the technician got there instead of quickly dispatching someone else. It's understandable that things happen but there should be a quicker solution for urgent issues.

Air conditioning not working. Not cooling. Unit appears to be functioning Ok for right now. Believe there maybe a potential leak in the system. Checked the condenser coil and it was OK. Had to make a return trip within 5 minutes initially. First time told he had to replace a capacitor and the second time put in coolant. Told that a complete diagnostic test may be required to locate a potential leak.

I’ve been a customer for a few years now, so I’ve had some experiences with CHW. The appointment making process is very good and responsive whether online or in person and most of your agents seem customer friendly, but others seem to take the tact of being argumentative and unfriendly as it is their own money they are protecting by declining coverage. Over the last couple months I’ve had the opportunity to need coverage. I will go months and months without a claim, but I’ve had some recently. I will outline them specifically. I will also share my renewal experience as it was the 2nd time it’s happened.
1. Renewal experience. I have pool and spa coverage. This year, for the 2nd time I confirmed the cost and coverage for the new year only to find out CHW dropped my pool and spa coverage and told me I’d have to pay extra than what was agreed to. This was fixed after a phone call, but this should not happen much less twice. I would like to think it was only a mistake, but.... you need to send out a coverage booklet or some other confirmation so this can be verified when the transaction is completed, I’ve never received this timely..
2. A couple months back I filed a claim on my pool coverage after it was restored. The agent couldn’t have been better, but the contracted company would have taken several days to get to my home. This is unacceptable. I fixed the problem myself and CHW reimbursed me for the parts. This was a positive situation with CHW, but the slow response time of the contracted company hurts CHW and it’s viability as a home warranty company.
3. I recently filed a claim on something leaking in my kitchen, I wasn’t sure if it was a pipe or the dishwasher. CHW helped me out filing both claims and only charging me for one of them. The agent was helpful and courteous, I feel they went above and beyond. Turned out to be the dishwasher and the contracted company is phenomenal.
4. I needed to replace a hose bib and was told it was not covered as it was not within the foundation- this is rediculous! It is all part of the homes plumbing system and it is connected to a pipe within the foundation. I repaired it myself and CHW is reimbursing me for the part. This is good customer service but poor decision making on coverage- another what are you thinking moment.
5. Yesterday I filed a claim on my microwave by calling in and the agent was, once again argumentative over coverage and I felt a little rude- fighting coverage the entire way thru. Ultimately the claim was accepted and filed but this attitude with a customer is not good.
Overall it’s been good and bad. CHW needs to always remember it’s us, their customers that keep them in business. Being rude, argumentative and trying to find a way NOT to cover things, which I think is frequent is not the way to do business.

My AC was damaged on May 30th, I called to file my claim and before the night was over I was informed that a company would be coming by on Saturday between 3pm and 8pm to take care of my problem. By 3pm on Saturday by AC unit was fixed. Thanks to Dedicated Air and Heating Company for all they did. Not only did the fix my unit but they were two hours earlier than promised.

16 days without hot water. First attempt didn't fix problem. Second attempt the part wasn't ordered for 8 days, but they ordered an incompatible part. I provided them with the exact part number and a URL of where to buy it. For 3 days I'm told my ticket has been escalated to the proper team, but I can't get a straight answer if part was actually ordered.

The component that dispensed the water was not working, causing many other problems with the refrigerator. The tech that you sent not only fixed the water line problem but explained why it was happening. He told us to not have items up against the freezer door because it would cause the line to freeze, and in turn, cause the component to fail again. It is always frustrating when trying to book a service call for something and I am told they can’t find someone in my area but I can find my own person to repair my appliance and will get reimbursed. Don’t trust them, Choice loves to find a way to get out of the reimbursement. Choice has been sending me times that a washer dryer repair company would be coming out. The repair company doesn’t even have those times open and said Choice just books the time without talking to them first.
I was sold an additional policy for my pool and hot tub, now they are telling me hot tub is above ground so it it not covered. It is a 10,000 dollar tub. Not your Kmart variety, they took my money for the additional coverage saying they can’t verify that I told my salesperson it was above ground. They say it is written in my policy but they took my money on line before presenting policy? Their ratings are 1 Star out of thousands of reviews. Now I know why. I didn’t even appeal because I know it is a worthless waste of time yet a rep called me to say I appealed and aggravate me by repeating the fact that is above ground and the additional policy saying pool and spa is covered is sold together so I wasn’t paying anymore for the spa which is top of the line. Yet not covered. Once again twisting verbiage to their benefit. Some claims they pay yet most are scammed out of!

I reported my refrigerator went out, the same day they said they could not get someone out within a reasonable time so gave me the option to get someone one myself. I did. He charged me 125.00 for a service call and ya'll said you would only pay 80.00 when I am supposed to have several free service calls. Then ya'll will only give me 389.00 for a new fridge w/ ice maker saying that's what ya'll can get one for but I sure cannot. Finally ya'll went up to 450.00 which is still impossible for me to get. Then I won't even get my money for 30 days so I am not really happy.

Excellent customers service and fast responding. I have had twice service with them, they were within 24 hours at the house to fix the problem and their technicians are top customers service. They won't leave until the job done, and when it comes to pay the bill they are right there to help. I have been with them for the past 6 years and I just renewed for another six years. I ordered my policy yesterday and after I receive the contract I was confused a little bit about what was covered it was not was ready to cancel my contract. When I spoke to a gentleman with your company. He went over the contract with me and explain things a little bit better and provide me additional information. At the end of the conversation I was satisfied and I asked him about myself adding a second house and he connected me to a gentleman. The gentleman stated yes I could after he figured out that AK didn’t belong to Arkansas.
He stated it would be a 20% discount and quoted me the same price as I had received the day before. Once I informed him of that he dropped it a dollar and I told him that’s not a deal. This is what you told me. If I could make it lower dollar is not significant enough for me to consider that you’re really taking me serious and then asked me what was I doin. He sees like his care are you just got the balls in and cancel policy. Now I’m asking for a discount on the policy so what’s going on. What’s going on is maybe I should shop around more.

Garbage disposal doesn't grind/chop food. First plumber, J&L Plumbing, didn't know what he was doing but still demanded for service call fee before walked out of my house, of course I did not pay him. Second plumber, Anytime Home Services, was excellent, fixed the problem within 15 minutes.

During maintenance of central AC system it was determined there was leak in the condenser coil. Called CHW and technician came out and determined the same. CHW denied claim (warranty work). I called them and had the technician state that the problem was not corrosion or rust which they did not cover and they did not cover the leak test. OK, good with not covering leak detection, as that is perfectly stated in the contract. They then asked what caused the leak? Stated to them by the technician it was a fault of the part (it just failed). The reason we have a home warranty. This discussion went on for almost 2 hours. Finally, I just told them to cancel my contract. Why pay for a service when the provider is just trying to find ways to back out and or wear you down that you accept what they have to say?

Not satisfied with Choice Home Warranty customer service as when joining was given different information when clearly asked about the appliances under coverage. When speaking to customer service the person being very rigid and failing to listen to a customer when asked to be transferred to ace the case manager who called twice and I was returning his call. Being in the customer service foray for over 40 years in the upper echelons of management, subordinates must comply with a customer's request and arrange to resolve when management is requested. Drilling an old record of cannot is unacceptable and uncalled for. Training and resourcefulness may be interjected in this advice to the customer service staff.

My A/C units both went out after I owned the home for two months. They couldn't find a technician in a timely manner so I had to do so myself. Which they came out the next day. It took 5 days without A/C in the spring to have them tell me they will not cover my repair. The technician tells them the wrong refrigerant was used on the units and Choice Home Warranty will not cover the units because the wrong refrigerant was used. Mind you, this was prior to me even purchasing the home so I had absolutely no control of what repairs happened prior. So, now I have to eat an $8500 repair bill and they offer me $150. This company is a scam and will find any loophole to not pay you.

I placed my ac claim on Sunday planning on a Tuesday repair. A Tuesday repair was scheduled. I arranged my day so I could be present for the contractor to arrive. No call and no show of a contractor all day!!! I checked on my claim via phone. Was offered option of finding my own tech and being paid back by CHW. I took the option and had service within 2 hours. I have received an email stating that CHW will send me a check for full amount I paid minus my copay. I'm happy now and cool, will see if CHW comes through in 30 day.

Not cooling. Ahmed of Just AC & Heating was very professional in diagnosing the cooling problem and repaired my AC. It needed Freon which he replaced and provided instructions with timeframe to wait till the lines had time to defrost. when I turned the thermostat on we started to feel cool air again!

We returned home on 5/26/19 to discover our air conditioning was not working. Nothing displayed on the thermostat. I submitted a claim online immediately. Within a short amount of time I received a claim number and the contact information of the company that would be servicing the claim. The technician arrived within the time frame stated on 5/27/19. He diagnosed the situation, a motor module is needed. He stated this is the worst possible time for a/c to fail because it is a holiday weekend. He said a part would have to be ordered.
I heard nothing from Choice Home Warranty. I called the technician late on 5/28/19 to check on the status of the part. He said the part had be ordered, would be shipped to our house, when it arrives, call him and he will come to install it. Late in the afternoon on 5/29/19 I called Choice since I had heard nothing from them. I talked with Rose. She was fairly confident that the part had been ordered but could not confirm that. She said she would continue to follow up for confirmation. I requested that she contact me with the confirmation information and with a tracking number for the part being shipped. She assured me she would be back in touch with me before 7:30 pm on 5/29/19. I did hear from her.
In the meantime I sent two replies via the website stating the above issues and requesting a tracking number for the part if it had been shipped. I received a "form" response that statement my claim had been approved. I called Choice on 5/30/18. The customer service representative who answered said the part had been ordered that day, 5/30/19.
When I questioned that he checked further and said the part had been ordered on 5/28/19. However, he said he was unable to secure shipping information or a tracking number. I asked to speak with a supervisor. I spoke with Brian and explained all of these difficulties to him. He said he would seek to get a tracking number. He called back at 4 p.m. on 5/30/19 saying he had not been able to get a tracking number. He said he would continue to try and would call me in the morning of 5/31/19. I am waiting for his call. It is 9 am.
In the meantime, we are experiencing the hottest weather we have had in over two years. The temperature in our house reaches 91 degrees in the afternoon. The system for securing parts and repairing air conditioning units that Choice Home Warranty is inefficient and totally unacceptable. The technician could have secured a part on Tuesday, 5/28/19 and installed it on 5/28/19 or 5/29/19 at the latest. Having not received the part yet on 5/31/19, it is likely we will not receive the part before Monday 6/3/19 at the earliest and the technician will not be able to install it before 6/4/19--9 days after the problem was diagnosed and 8 days after the repair was approved.

Different times when I have spoken, I have found out that they tell me, "Well that is not what is included," yet when they initially take you as a customer they tell you that, "Even if we have to cut a concrete floor we will take care of it." Just don't ever have a problem on a weekend or holiday. You have to pay more or they won't take care of you. Is the company excluding more things? There are times that you have been great and other times I felt like if I went through the phone book without Choice warranty I might have done better.

My claim involved my air conditioner not cooling inside my home. I called in the request to have a service technician to come out to make the needed repairs. Once the technician arrived, he said the unit had less than 50 percent (approximately 20 percent) freon and that he thought it to have a leak. He sent in his results as he waited on the premises for a response. He finally left while I waited for a response that was finally emailed to me as being declined. The temp in my home at that time was now 81 degrees. The reason for being declined stated is leaks caused by corroded pipes are not covered.
As I stated in the complaint, my reason for purchasing a five year paid contract was for protection doing my retirement years based on my conversation with CHW rep’s assurance that everything was covered. His name should be on file. An added perk for the five year paid in full contract. It has cost me $45 for the visit and $350.00 to fix the problem. I am very disturbed by this and disappointed in my service. I have two units and was previously with TotalProtect who covered total expenses (replaced the smaller unit). I have been satisfied with my claims prior to this incident. Seeking Assistance!???

The policy and the warranty is the worst ever investment and nothing is covered so read the small print!!! They exclude rust. Really? A fridge or an AC unit has water so after x years there will always be some rust and that is what excuse they use to denied coverage!!

I signed up last night for a 3 year warranty. When I got the email about policy details, I had a question. When I called the number and extension given to me by the salesperson, the voice mail was FULL. So, I couldn't connect. As a result, I emailed and asked them for a callback. No one called or emailed, As a result, I want to cancel. I've been on the phone this morning for 2 hours (since 8:30 AM) and have been given different extensions to call, been transferred to different one, etc. and each time, after at least 40 minutes waiting, the call was DISCONNECTED BY YOUR COMPANY. Horrible service. I cannot imagine how terrible the service would be. At 10:30 AM, after 2 hours on the phone, I was called by a representative named Raven, who, by a wonderful miracle, voided my contract. She is the best representative your company could have.

I called on Tuesday and started a claim. This was my first claim to file since I got this policy. The lady I spoke to was very pleasant and helpful. I received an email later that afternoon that they were trying to find a technician to send over and that if I chose to get someone else they would reimburse me. I received a call after 5:00 that they found a technician to come out the next day. I gave them the $60 service fee and it was fixed within the hour.

Great experience with the rep who extended my contract for another year upon expiring. When I then placed a claim request, I was told that I had to wait weeks before my plan went into effect. I have already paid for the plan yet I am unable to place a claim for weeks? This is frustrating and unacceptable, especially since I had been a customer with an account the entire year prior and was not new. I have an electrical issue that I would like to get a service call for, yet I paid for a year and am currently unable to do so. I will have my current agreement in place, however will not renew next year. Thanks for your time and understanding on this.

Originally called in for A/C outside unit motor too loud. Air Force A/C & Heat. Replaced a motor that turned the opposite directing air to compressor perhaps damaging it. 5 days later, 2nd claim (AC not cooling). Air Today Heating & AC took job, finding wrong motor installed by previous contractor and bad compressor. The compressor was working fine before the installation of the wrong motor. I replaced the whole unit CHW helping me with only $700.00 when I believe Air Force A/C & Heat should be paying for it due to their faulty maintenance.

During the sales call I have purchased the Choice Home Warranty for two apartments for 6 years on 3/3/2019. The charge was $3,920.00. During the sales negotiation the salesperson denied my request to study the service contract before paying for the service, and made many promises, that directly contradict to the contract, which I was not able to see until after I paid with my credit card.
The salesperson convinced me that this is a warranty contract, in his own words, better than the extended warranty that you can buy with the new appliance.
He said: each time when something stops working, you pay $60, and that's it.
"We will fix your appliance, and if we can't fix it, we will replace it, free of charge".
In reality, contract contains a section F. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY, almost two pages long, which contains 19 bullet points, describing very wide set of circumstances, where coverage is not provided. Actually this list of exceptions makes the whole service contract effectively non-existent.
2. Rust or Corrosion.Having experience with my previous service company, I directly asked the salesperson, if this will be a factor when it comes to the moment to fix or replace my not working appliance. The salesperson said - "No, this will not be a problem. If your appliance does not work, we will fix it free of charge. If we can't fix it, we will replace it. The only thing that matters is for your appliance to be in the working state when our coverage starts".
In reality, Section F contains this clause:
8. "We are not liable for repair of conditions caused by chemical or sedimentary build up, rust or corrosion, mildew, mold, misuse or abuse, failure to clean or maintain as specified by the equipment manufacturer, missing parts, structural changes, fire, freezing, electrical failure or surge, water damage, lightening, mud, earthquake, soil movement, soil settlement, settling of home, storms, accidents, pest damage, acts of God, or failure due to excessive or inadequate water pressure".
3. Contract cancelling.Salesperson stated, that the contract may be cancelled by me, the customer, at any time, and they will prorate my costs based on the time the coverage was effective, and will return me all the money from for the period from the cancelling date to the end of the contract.
In reality, contract Section L. Cancellation contains point 4:
4. "Mutual agreement of Us and You. If canceled after 30 days, You shall be entitled to a pro rate refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a 10% administrative fee and any service costs incurred by Us". Once again, when I was buying the warranty, they did not let me to see the contract, and all information I had was the sale pitch over the phone, which appears to be a gross disinformation on the every aspect of their service.

The repair was done in a timely manner. What I am not happy with is I paid the Choice $45 fee and the tech asked for an additional $35. So I paid $80 instead of $45! Choice should have approved the additional cost to make the problem fixed, whole!

A/C quit working on Sunday, May 26th. Phoned in for service and contractor came out on Monday and determined it needed a fan motor. Motor was replaced on Tuesday evening. The contractor you hired was very knowledgeable and repaired the a/c s soon as they could. The job was approved on Tuesday morning. You were not open on Monday when the work order was sent in. Had you have been open, repairs would have been 1 day earlier.

Bought a home warranty for peace of mind. Made a claim for my HVAC system. They sent a tech who made the issue worse and now my system doesn’t work at all, now I’m out $65 with nothing to show for it. My claim was denied because they say the issue was pre existing. My home inspection report says clearly that “Equipment was working properly on day of inspection.” I just hope a new home buyer can read this and not make the same mistake I made. Choice Home Warranty is a major scam that preys on new home buyers.

It is day 6 since CW sent out a technician from Landmark Mechanical to inspect our AC system and the reason for it not cooling. I was told by the technician that we needed a specific part that would need to be ordered. I explained we had a family member who was coming in for the weekend to stay with us. He told me I would hear from CW tomorrow. It is now day 6 in the TX heat and the only communication has been me calling CW and LM. CW wants LM to return to my home for a leak test. Still no appointment has been set as no one has called me to set this up. If a leak test is required before a part is ordered, why wasn’t that done at the time of the tech’s inspection of the issue. Continued delays in the CW process is inefficient. I wish I had bypassed the home warranty altogether. With the money invested in the home warranty, I could have paid out of pocket and be sitting in my home with AC.

When the serviceman came he was hard to understand. He said that we would need a new motor which was covered by the warranty. He then went on to say that the wire going through the spring needed re-attached and that would cost $140. I objected to the procedure asking why it wouldn't be covered and why the cost would be so high. I then chose to contact the contractor I have used in the past to ask questions. He said that should be an easy fix and wouldn't come near the $140 charge.
I then told the repairman to let it go. He called his boss and was then told he could do it for $100. I still thought this was too costly but offered him $50. His boss then accepted this price. I still think it was too high because it took him less than 5 minutes to put the wire back on the pulley. Being senior citizens this is a classic case of trying to be scammed. I feel that Choice Home would be better suited if they let you choose your own contractor to do their jobs first with permission from Choice Home once the problem is explained.

Broken garbage disposal - Claim was assigned to Neely Construction and Plumbing. Service tech came to home during time frame, he had dirt on his pants and shoes (from construction site). Walked in, sat on floor in front of sink, fixed garbage disposal. Put the items back under the sink, collected my check, he left. I rewashed my floor area from front door, foyer and kitchen area by sink. I would prefer NOT to have this tech again. I had cleaned and washed my floors the day before. He stated he called before coming, but I did not answer. On my smart phone, there was no call or vm made by him. My phone never rang.

AC working not until 05/23, a little more drama than that but Kirsten renewed my trust in Choice. When Hutchinson from Lucius Air came and looked at the air and was leaving saying he needed to get approval for the the parts and would be back the next day. Still waiting. I'm going to cancel the remainder of my contracts thru 2023 if not fixed today. Very dissatisfied.

We had a motor fail in a $1,200 KitchenAid dishwasher. First claim after being with Choice for 1 year. After inspection I received an automated email stating Congratulations, your payout is $239 with a large accept button and small decline button. I chose to decline. 6 days later I spoke with Brittnay, the claims handler who stated that was the best they could do. I explained I did not want cash payout, per policy section F9, they reserve the right to repair or replace. The policy then states they are responsible for installation of the replacement unit.
Brittnay said that policy on their website is old and there is a new one that states they don’t have to replace a unit. She said the price was based off their discounted access to dishwashers but they will not say where that is or actually buy it/install it. I said I would like to go to arbitration as afforded in the policy, that’s when she said I would be writing a letter to her because she is also the arbitrator. Last I asked her, have you ever actually replaced anyone’s dishwasher? No, she said, So basically, the policy should read, If your dishwasher fails, you might get $200. We reserve the right to lowball your offer based on what we say the unit can be purchased for, although we will not purchase one, just tell you we can get it cheap.

Home repairs can be a challenge for scheduling this company is awesome with accommodating schedules. AC technician was dispatched last week on Wed(5/22), but no more progress from Choice with regards to the repair. During Summer, it is very critical to address the malfunctioning AC in a timely manner. It comes to me that Choice's focus is more on its expense than customer's satisfaction. Called Choice Home Warranty for one of my A/C units not cooling correctly. They were very responsive, and scheduled my appointment quickly. The servicing company called to verify the appointment and showed up on time as scheduled. The A/C matter was corrected, and is operating great. The overall experience was easy and hassle free. It definitely is worth having a policy with Choice Home Warranty! I will always re-new my policy for my home!!

The technician and service was very professional; however the warranty only covered the Freon and the repairs cost me over $400. What is the point of having a warranty for the air conditioning that says it covers the whole system and doesn’t. To make it worse it took you 3 days to get a service technician which by that time the ceiling was wet and fell in. Now going to cost me another $1000. I could have called my own AC man, gotten him the next day and paid $250 or less and still had my ceiling. I definitely will not recommend you to anyone else. My AC needs a new pan too but I bet you won’t pay for that.

My technician that was suppose to fix my AC unit never came out. After four days of my claim being made I finally get a call from the technician explaining how he had to fire people and etc; not my concern. Then on top of my 75 service call fee I’m getting charged 150 for freon for the cooling system. This company doesn’t cover enough cost and not prompt or professional with follow up and time. Wouldn’t recommend.

Choice Home Warranty is not a reputable company. The deceive customers and do not honor their contracts. An essential part of my air conditioner went bad and could not be repaired. They denied my claim because they did not want to pay for replacing my air conditioning unit. Very bad company. Purchase American Home Shield instead. They are a great company.

I went online and the website was straightforward. The warranty details were listed and it was easily accessible. I received a call from a service representative and they offered further discounts because it was a Holiday. The service rep. was nice and had different options. I have filed a claim for my air unit, the first time it was denied saying corrosion and rust, so I had to pay out of pocket for a new inside unit. Now my outside unit is shorting out because of the compressor and now they are denying this claim. This is a scam and they find excuses not to pay!!!

After researching several of these companies and talking with a salesperson at Choice, who was knowledgeable, friendly and offered a very appealing monthly payment plan, I chose them. My first service call was for a plumbing issue for a small leak in two sink drains in the house (40 years old). I checked the warranty and among other things it says under Plumbing/EXCLUDED "– Flow restrictions in fresh water lines caused by rust, corrosion or chemical deposits." is not covered. Okay.
My issue has nothing to do with a flow restriction. It is dripping water through a pinhole. I wrote out the description and submitted. I was contacted by Choice via email and a technician was dispatched. He arrived the next day and went to work. However, after he called his supervisor I was informed that Choice would NOT cover this repair and the service fee was $200. I immediately called Choice Customer Service and he confirmed they had rejected the claim due to "rust, corrosion". I explained that it has nothing to do with rust or corrosion. He would not approve the coverage.
I returned to the company website and read a note in my account area saying that the rejection was based on a restriction in Section F, paragraph 1. "The following are not included during the contract term; (i) malfunction or improper operation due to rust or corrosion of all systems and appliances, (ii) collapsed ductwork, (iii) known or unknown pre-existing conditions." This is much broader than the description in the Plumbing section where I first checked. Seems deceptive and misleading. What other restrictions are doubled headed like this?
I don't care to discover that. This one is bad enough. Buyer Beware: they do not cover an issue of malfunction or improper operation due to rust or corrosion of all systems and appliances, or known or unknown pre-existing conditions. Unreal. Note: a competitor states that "Coverage under this contract also includes malfunctions of covered items which occur during the contract term resulting from the following situations prior to and during the contract term: a. Insufficient maintenance, rust, corrosion, or sediment;" and "Undetectable pre-existing conditions which are defects." My advice, trust your peace of mind with a better company. I have.

After 4 electrician, with 1 a no show, I realize Choice Warranty is just a SCAM. I have had you for 3 years and you are a SCAM. You need to be sued for taking innocent people money knowing you are not going to fix anything. 2 of the electricians stated you will not pay for them to go into my attic to fix my electric outlets in my family room. You scammed me out of over a 1.000 dollars.

Aside from lying saying I wouldn't have to pay another service fee because the wrong people were sent yesterday (a plumber instead of an AC tech) I was charged 45 dollars for the plumber to essentially walking in and out of my home. You also dispatched two different AC companies one showed up while the other was here. I won't go in on how the dispatcher explained water leaking from a drip pan wasn't covered and all he seemed to care about was getting me to renew my contract instead of remedying my situation at hand. It's nice to know moving forward what I will be leaving behind come July 8, 2019. The constant annoying renewal emails, being treated like a commodity instead of a valued customer, and the unapologetic complete unprofessionalism will lead me to share my experience with my hefty fair of followers on all social media platforms I operate at this time. First of all it took five days to get a repairman to my home. Then they book a appointment without even seeing if I'm available on that day and time. The company James appliance did not contact me until Friday to confirm the appointment then to top it off he showed up at 6 pm when the appointment window was from 11am-3pm.
