    Once again, CHOICE FAILED ME. Happens consistently. I regret buying a 6 year plan. American Home Shield was much better. Needed a plumber. Choice sent me an email saying Boone’s Plumbing would be out. I called Boone’s and they had no idea what I was talking about. Called Choice to complain. Deaf ears! If I could get my money back I would. Run Away!!!

    The salesperson on the phone is very rude, he does not value the customers. I requested for a month-month contract. He wanted to switch me to a 3 year agreement which I thought is a good idea but soon realized it too much of commitment and said no. He got mad for me saying no and started putting me on hold and he did not even said that he is placing me on a month to month contract and we had to hang up because of his unprofessional attitude. But nevertheless he sends me the month to month contract which I do not want anymore having seen the attitude of this guy. I called Choice to cancel the contract after checking my email and this guy's answers again and I explained him why I am cancelling the contract and he says me rude instead. What a courtesy the sales guys have towards the customers. I do not want to deal with Choice Home Warranty anymore. Cancel my contract immediately and send me a confirmation.

    There are too many fine points in the contract that if you don't read in detail to begin with, will catch you by surprise. They don't cover ice makers that come with the fridge, which is unacceptable to me. When it comes to replacing an appliance, they are quick about the process but they don't cover something similar but similar functionality, so even if you have a high end appliance, they only try to get you something that does the same thing, even though you can't put a low end appliance in your house when everything else is higher end and it won't match.

    Initially the call and schedule was great. Everything should have been completed before the cold weather. My original appointment was November 7th. AAA Heating had issues and the appointment was rescheduled for Tuesday, November 12. By this time the weather had changed and it was cold. Wednesday November 13 the request was approved. November 14 I get a call to schedule the repairs Friday November 15. This is extremely too long for a repair. All the while my house has no heat. The technician was great. This is not good.

    I am so Very Disappointed and Mad w/ the coverage you offer that I canceled my warranty. I feel like I was robbed of my money. 2 claims denied. Seems like you find a loophole in everything. So upset w/ this company. First time I missed 3 days of work waiting for service and got nobody out or a phone call saying nobody was coming. Secondly the next claim was denied saying you don't cover copper pipes. But you cover plumbing, wait, isn't copper pipes part of plumbing?? Once again having the wool pulled over my eyes. I feel so taken advantage of by this company. I will say the tech you sent the other day was absolutely wonderful and professional. Mike was kind and on time..

    I called to get service on one of our air-conditioner units on a Sunday. The tech came on Tuesday and advised that the blower unit and a board had burned out. The tech submitted the claim to Choice for approval. The estimated cost was about $1200.00. Later on that Tuesday, the Tech called me back to advise that the claim had been denied. Per the Tech his conversation with Choice went something like this.

    "Choice question the total cost to make the repair and asked the Tech if a power surge could have caused this damage. The Tech advise that it is possible, but that it did not appear that this was the issue. Choice decided that it was a power surge, even though there was no power outage nor any storms that could have caused a power surge=, nor was their any other appliances damaged. Choice then assigned this claim to one of their adviser for me to contact to. When I contacted the adviser his only response was the damage was caused by a power surge, which nullifies the claim. I asked what proof, and he offered none. The Choice agent then offered me a $100 goodwill payment." I then asked the Tech if he told Choice that the damage was due to a power surge and he stated "That the Choice agent brought up the power surge issue and he did not".

    The Tech then advised me that he does a lot of work for Choice and if the cost of the repair is over $500 they will pretty much come up with an excuse to not pay the claim. I then had another air condition company come and inspect the broken air conditioner unit, they also advised that the blower unit and board had burned out. I asked if this was caused by a power surge and they advised that in their opinion that it was not caused by a power surge, but just was worn out.

    Well, Trevor ** was the original agent I spoke with to get the policy, then when I tried calling his direct line AND emailing him, he never got back to me. Other than that he was very pleasant. But I called the main number today because we decided to pay in full for the year because it was going to be cheaper than paying monthly. The agent was very nice but put me on hold to transfer me to someone who could take my card info, but I was on hold forever and finally hung up and called back. The agent I spoke with (I'm sorry now I dont remember her name) was very nice and was able to take the info. So you kinda get a 9 out of 10 for response.

I just wanted the 12 month contract, but he keep trying to sell me more and longer contract. I am on a fixed income. Then I asked about my hot tub and roof leaks. He gave me the prices. Too much money for me. He put me on hold and came back with a counter offer and told he could give me the roof leaks for free and I would keep the hot tub. Great I agreed. When I got my email with the contract the free roof leak was not on it. So, what am I to think. I called back, asked for Kyle, went to voicemail. No call back.     I actually have 2 homes covered by Choice for several years and I just recently made my first claim. To my horror I found out no matter what the contract states they find a way to exclude repairs. I had a leak at the joint of my copper water pipe and was told that copper pipes should never leak unless there is corrosion or it was not installed correctly. Therefore, there is nothing covered for copper water pipes.

    3/4 months ago i reported ice maker problems. The service rep was Rob from stay cool. He was not very courteous. When he returned to put the ice maker board in. I feel pretty sure he forced it, because i heard a bang, snap, or slap. It worked for 1 or 2 days. I call Rob. His immediate response was thats another problem. When he did show up he said another piece was broken. After several phones to him he never responded. I finally called your office and requested another service company.     Fraud. You advertise you will cover every broken product which is not a true statement due to experience. The claim lady said if they could find rust on anything the policy wouldn't cover it. Even an outside compressor if it had rust on the outside steel dome you wouldn't cover it. This is just another example of you getting out of paying a claim. I've had this forty two month policy for nearly a year and it makes me very afraid to even file a claim under these guidelines.     We have had Choice Home Warranty - Contract Number: ** since 04/21/2019 (paid in full when ordered) and have never had an occasion to use it until our AC unit stop properly operate on October 28, 2019. The temperature in house was +85F. I called CHW, they dispatched technician Miguel from A&J appliances on October 29, 2019 who was on time and very professional.

    Miguel’s diagnosis of the repair was coolant loss due to leakage. “It has been determined that the system is excessively low on refrigerant and unable to cool the home properly. Leaks in refrigeration systems are caused by rust and/or corrosion at one of the coils and these types of failures would not be covered under the policy for repair.”

    In policy copy I have, I did not find that such repair excluded from coverage. At that moment I paid A&J $219.00 fee for visit and leak test (excluded from coverage) to find actual problem and continue with repair. A&J technician determine the leak from AC compressor connections to the coil. In A&J determination compressor must be replaced.

    We arrange with A&J that they will inform CHW about the problem and set up new appointment for October 30, 2019 from 8:00 to 12:00. Because we did not received from CHW any response at this moment I paid A&J 50% of compressor replacement cost - $488.00. Until now Choice never called back to approve the repair.

    On October 30, 2019 A&J fix my AC unit and collected balance payment of $488.00 for new compressor installation. The total repair cost to me was $1,195.00, which CHW did not cover; in addition, I paid to CHW for annual coverage more than $450.00. In my opinion, CHW company's business practices are a complete fraud. Lot of promises when you buy the policy and zero help when you have real problem on hand. The idea to buy the policy was mistake. Do not waste your money on them. I would save money by contacting A&J direct, without any CHW.

    We purchased a home in Cypress TX, and got burned by the Seller as the AC was going out before the close, but she had a 5 year Choice Home Warranty Plan, so we figured no problem it is covered. It still cost us $856, for handling fees, then Water heater went out and same thing just another of the many more exclusions than inclusions of the policy.

    I just received the survey that states just answer the one question survey, again you're pretty tricky, as there are two questions and the first is rating the Mechanic, second is rating a recommendation of Choice to others. So just so you know I would never use or recommend choice even though I have a passed on seller policy until 2024. Your company is fraud, and BTW the mechanics that come out that you have contracted feel the same way about your services. From what I have heard to don't even treat the homeowners of New Jersy any better either. I will be writing reviews on BBB, and any other site that rates warranty programs, so How Did you get the Great rating when you browse for Warranty companies??

    We have been Choice customers over 2 years. This year, the service and response on our claims was awful. Starting with a refrigerator that took 3 weeks to repair, and ending with a possible $5500 out of pocket fiasco when we made a claim on the AC that stopped working (8-21-19). Choice sent over a technician (AirKnights) promptly, and they diagnosed that the furnace blower motor was not working, and without it the AC couldn't work. But they also red tagged the furnace as unsafe due to a cracked heat exchanger.

    We waited for Choice to process the claim, and they accepted the blower motor at a cost of $275, which they said could be put towards a new furnace which they were NOT covering. We appealed the decision and for weeks were passed around to various Choice personel who were unresponsive, did not understand Choice's own policies or the workings of either the AC or furnace. They settled on "rust or corrosion" as the reason for the denial, and we asked how they determined that. They kept referring back to the technician (AirKnights) who originally came out to diagnose the claim.

    Airknights has said very clearly that they did not make the diagnosis...They determined the crack was due to normal wear and tear, and confirmed that in writing to both customers and Choice. After 3 weeks of escalating the claim, we got bids from another contractor and AirKnights for furnace replacement. Both came in around $4k, and it was so hot and taking so long to get on their schedules that we chose to move forward with Airknights to install the new furnace (because Choice also indicated if we worked within their network we'd be entitled to their "discounted" rates).

    It was 9-20-19 when the furnace was finally installed, and at the end of that very hot Friday afternoon, the AC still did not work. Airknights made a further diagnosis that the AC evaporative coil was leaking, and needed to be repaired in order for both the AC to work (and to protect the new furnace). Again, we spent hours on the phone with Airknights, saying we still were not satisfied with the denial on the furnace and now the new AC coil claim needed to be addressed because we had been without AC for a month! They said they had to close out the old claim to start the new one, but gave us the authorization number for Airknights to call so the AC evaporative coil could be covered.

    Both Airknights and my sister spent hours trying to get through to the authorization line, and she became very stressed because she thought the technician might die of a heat stroke during the ordeal. The only way to cool off was to take cold showers. After much discussion with technician and the owner or Airknights, it was decided they would proceed with replacing the evaporative coil and submit pictures to Choice just as soon as they opened again (this was late on Friday).

    Even after the weekend, not all went smoothly as the fan motor was not connected properly and there was a smell of gas. Airknights did come back to address those issues, and we paid $4076 for the furnace install... Still hoping Choice would accept their covered diagnosis of normal wear/tear and age. After another week went by, and we quizzed Airknights as to whether Choice had responded with the authorization on the evaporative coil, they said most likely Choice would call us directly.

    They did not, but when my sister decided to go online to update the claim with more information, she read that they had denied the AC evaporative claim a week earlier due to "Rust and Corrosion". Again, we asked the technician if that was their diagnosis, and they said NO! With regard to the furnace, the cracked heat exchanger was not rust or corrosion which causes small holes...It was a CRACK! And they did not diagnose either rust or corrosion with the evaporative coil...They provided pictures on both claims where no rust or corrosion was present.

    We immediately appealed the second denial, and were assigned to a case manager. Airknights wants to be paid for the evaporative coil, and we want the maximum policy amount of $1500 for both the AC and the furnace. These claim managers are never available to talk...You always get a recording and then they say they'll call you back in the order received. I am currently working with Choice case manager Jackie ** and she agreed to keep both cases open while she reached out to AirKnights to confirm their written diagnosis, and to figure out if we received the discount mentioned in Choice's first response about furnace replacement. We could be looking at charges upward of $5500, and Chase only sent a check for $275, which doesn't seem to be in good faith given that both furnace and AC are covered up to $1500 each for issues related to normal wear and tear.

    The sad thing is, I wanted to give more business to Choice (since our first year was a much better experience, and the $45 service call is the lowest I'd seen). If they had done the right thing on both claims, and not taken so long to get unintelligable responses, we would still be good customers. But now Airknights has me questioning their ethics and has mentioned they are the most difficult home warranty company to work with. Please reach out to us-Jody and Sue

    On Nov 4th, I requested to get a quote from Choice. I got a call from Kyle at 11:13am (732-379-5309). We talked for about 10 minutes. I ultimately told him it sounded like a good deal, but I wasn't ready to make any changes just yet as I already had a Home Warranty provider. I told him I WOULD CALL HIM if I wanted to do anything. I got a call from him again at 1:40pm. When he told me who he was, I hung up the phone. He called me right back after that, then again one minute later!

    That same day, I received a call from 888-531-5403. It was a guy who I think said his name was Tom from Choice. I told him I had talked to Kyle already & that if I wanted to switch companies, I would let him know. He said to me "well why did you click for a quote if you weren't ready to switch?" I told him I am the kind of person who makes my own decisions at my own time, so them constantly calling was not the way to earn my business. He constantly talked over me and made rude remarks. When I eventually got to the point where I was like "at this point, I am no longer considering you all" he hung up on me!

    I received a call the next day (Nov 5) at 2:31pm from the 732 number, I didn't answer. I got another call at 5:50pm from the 888 number. I answered. It was a person named Damian. I asked him to remove me from the call list and he hung up on me. The crazy thing is, I was actually going to switch because the price was a little lower than what I am paying now, but now I am not. Their sales staff is very incompetent and nasty. Altogether, I received 7 calls from them when I told them on the first one, I would call them back. I would rather pay more for better service!

    Todd arrived an hour later than scheduled. Expressed to him an I30 code on dishwasher that he witnessed. He took some pictures inside and of the model and ID number noting manufacture date. Didn't have any testing type devices to diagnose the issue and about 15 minutes later said he's reporting dishwasher as un-repairable. Don't understand this. Didn't receive any documentation except he said the latch could be an issue. The latch was Not and Never has been an issue. Puzzled why a parts & labor estimate wasn't given. Waiting for information from Choice apparently for purchase a new one when dishwashers last 8-10 years, cost $700 and ours is not yet 3 years old. Todd a nice guy though should have dig deeper to consider a repair instead of a check from Choice.

    Fine Print in contract states 1500 cap. This will not buy a new air conditioner. Company considers any leak on an air conditioner is due to rust, therefore it is not covered. You are still charged for a technician to come out, even if they refuse to fix it. Technician can take weeks to send information to Choice, therefore your unit is not fixed for weeks. The lines are also not 24/7 as stated.

    This company works hard to deny your claims. They denied a simple refrigerator repair yet charged me $85 for the service call. They denied a plumbing repair but once again, charged me the $85 service call, which they actually submitted for me because they said that I submitted it incorrectly and in order to get them to pay for the camera it had to be set up a different way so they were taking care of that in order for the claim to be approved. They are a lot of work and you will spend an immense time on the phone with them so be prepared. It will only end in denial and frustration.

    I'm not happy with the vendor {King & Sons}. They were trying to cover their **. They came out on 10/23/19 to work on the disposal and said they repaired it. We did not have a need to use the disposal for at least a week or so. When we did it started smoking and burned up. At my request I ask for the same vendor to return not wanting to pay the $65 fee again. This time they replaced the unit and were leaving the tech came back after going to his truck to drive off and said I need $50 permit fee. Being new to the area and new to {Choice Warranty} I paid it.

    With that being said I check with other vendors and their permit fees are $15. The permit actually cost $8 check with the city of Lincoln. Bottom line King and sons were pissed because I would not pay a additional $65 for something they should done the first time they came out. Choice did everything I could ask for so I'm not holding you guys responsible for them but I thought you should know how your vendors treat your customers.

    We have had Choice home warranty for several years. We have not filed any claims, because the two times in the past that we've called for service, our claims have been denied. These weren't large items, and we wanted to be covered in the case of a major system or appliance, so we kept the coverage and renewed again a few months ago. We are long time home owners and real estate professionals. We have referred many clients to home warranty companies in the past. However, we have been completely screwed over and scammed by Choice Home Warranty. We finally had a real issue arise with our home and needed to use our warranty that we have been paying on for years.

    After an entire day trying to get a plumber assigned to our claim, we had to finally call around and find our own plumber to come and give us an estimate. Our water heater broke and was leaking water all over the attic and we had no hot water. It needed immediate attention. The licensed plumber said it failed due to age which should definitely be covered. He called Choice Authorization department and explained to them that the unit failed due to age and it needed to be replaced. He sent them the bid. They denied it. They said it's not covered because there was the possibility of rust contributing to the failure.

    They honestly just made up whatever they wanted to include to have a reason to deny our claim. We have paid thousands of dollars in premiums to them for a "total protection plan" and now we are just stuck with a very expensive replacement of a water heater that they will not cover. We have been robbed and scammed and can not say enough bad things about this company.

    So I have had this company for a year now and our gas furnace stopped working so we filed a claim. Well the tech came ou to fix it and said it needed to be replaced. The company said they denied the claim due to the reason the furnace needs to be replaced is a piece has rust in it. Well the the part that cracked of course that is one of the pieces that they do not cover under their warranty! Well after looking at the fine print of this warranty there is A LOT they don’t cover in The furnace so I feel like they really won’t replace the furnace no matter what happens to it really! So I have canceled my account with this company and will no longer do business with them as I feel that I just dumped money into a company that will find any loophole they can in order to not replace bigger ticket items.

    Very bad service, I put Claim and the technician was here at next day, obviously the fee is to pay their services. But when it has to be fix, they say NO, I told them about the number 4 in the contract. Repair or replace. I needed 18 days to speak with the specialist manager. Is a big scam, they receive your money every month, but when they have to fix, they say, "The clause b of section x says we can't fix it". Don't be fooled. They put good grades, but not the ones that don't suit them.

    I have a LG WASHING MACHINE wo was not working. I called the company and told them the problem. They were very nice. My problem is with the Technician, he was at my house 3 weeks ago, looked at it and said he needed to order the part. It be 2 weeks he came back, he ordered the wrong part. I thought he said he be back in 2 days so I called my husband to ask if he the Tech was there, he called and said he could not get the part. It would be another 4 weeks, I was really upset. 7 to 8 weeks no Washing machine so I called Choice warranty thinking I would find a solution, no there was nothing they could do, I even ask to speak to a supervisor.     Choice Home Warranty is a complete scam. They don't operate as advertised. I purchased a home warranty for peace of mind when my husband and I first bought our house. A few months in, our water heater started leaking. I called CHW, they assigned a plumbing company, then the the plumbing company started calling me repeatedly demanding a credit card payment before anyone had even been out to our house, and when I wasn't receiving those calls the company was calling to let me know the technician was running late.

    I called CHW multiple times to reassign the claim, but 4 of the 5 times they assigned the same company that had been harassing me. The one time they assigned someone else, the contractor backed out because CHW wouldn't tell him how they were going to pay him. Choice Home Warranty is a scam. Their service reps are incompetent and the management is shady. I canceled my policy because our experience was so bad. A very expensive lesson learned. But save yourself the trouble. There are plenty of other home warranty companies that actually do what they advertise.

    Apparently, CHW has thousands of loopholes to not honor home repairs. I could go into numerous issues, but the main one was a failure to cover a septic cleaning. I paid extra each year for an annual septic pumping. The previous year it took them 4 months trying to figure out how to get it pumped. They paid me in an effort to get me to renew. I then thought I would be able to trust them to reimburse me the next year. I had not trusted them to do that at first nor did the companies. I had been told the next year to have a technician call them when they arrived to pump my septic.

    I scheduled my pumping for a Saturday. When the tech arrived, we called CHW. (The closest place was an hour away--due to me living in the mountains.) We called and were told they couldn't do it that day because no one was there to do the claim. I said, he is here and drove an hour from an hour away. I even shared it was a hundred dollars less than the prior year. They said sorry to have him come back during the week and call again. Of course, I could not get charged and told them I had to let him pump, but to put down that we did follow procedure and called in as directed. The pumping is something that I am entitled to with the septic add on. They turned around and denied my claim since I let the technician pump the tank. I told them that I did exactly as told, and I was never told that it could not be done on a weekend.

    We have done other calls on the weekend. Trust me, you need a lawyer to go through their loopholes. Their goal is not to pay and not take care of their customers. Save your money. I also had a call about a roof leak because I was given free roof coverage the year before to renew with them. The lady couldn't find it, but she asks me to find the email. I found it and let her know I had it. Easier to deal with it myself than them. I should have known they were idiots after the first year of not being able to figure out my pumping. I chalked that up to none of the businesses accepting their money. BUYER BEWARE with CHW.

    We purchased an older home with an older AC Unit. We knew that the unit wasn't going to last forever and we live on a budget so we decided to purchase a Choice Home Warranty. This unit has been tripping the circuit breaker for several years and each time we called Choice Home Warranty to open up a claim. Well, the compressor finally went out and Choice Home Warranty has decided not to cover it because they said based on the pictures we didn't do our maintenance. The compressor is a solid unit within the outside unit and the issue is within the compressor itself. It has nothing to do with dirt. The AC unit is 19 years old!! Save your money!!     You purchase 13 months. That’s what you're paying for but you cannot use the warranty till after 1 month. They profit 1 month. Another if you decide to purchase your unit goes out. They send a tech out. If your unit looks dirty inside they will deny the claim regardless. Because in small print states you need to keep your maintenance up. Thirdly. Ask how they get their techs. I did. They have a company apply by application. There’s a 30 day grace period before they're hireable. That’s it.

    Here was my problem. Tech was sent out. I reside in AZ. It was 108 the day the tech came out. He stated I had no Freon? Insurance denied claim. I called around. Got second opinion. There was a leak the tech didn’t find. Home warranty didn’t honor that claim because company wasn’t contracted. It pissed me off because the other tech didn’t find the issue. To find out the company home warranty sent me had a lot of complaints. Home warranty also had 6 claims against this yr alone. Read the small print. Do your research.

    Had a water leak on Saturday morning. Called Choice. They gave me an appointment for Monday so two day of leaking water or shut down your water and only turn it on when you have to use it. I ask to talk to show one and he did not understand how much leaking water damage can do and they do not pay for damage so I asked to talk to someone else’s. He said he was it. Some out of the country call center with no backup to the US so my warranty is up in January and I will run not walk away from this company.

    Choice Home Warranty was the biggest mistake I made. A few of my family members chose Home Sheild for their home protection. Choice was cheaper and they seemed to cover more so I went with Choice thinking I was getting a better deal. Man was I wrong. When each of my family members filed a claim with Home Shield, their claim was approved and approved quickly. Their problems were fixed immediately as well. I file a claim with Choice and my claim is immediately denied. Preexisting conditions they explained.

    I don't live in a new house. Everything in my house is going to have some preexisting condition. They were always going to deny any claim I filed due to preexisting conditions. This company is a fraud. I gave them a 1 star because they are wonderful while trying to get you to purchase a policy. But once you give them your money, the customer service is terrible. Please don't trust this company. They frauds and they are one huge headache. Not to mention they will not give you a full refund of what you pay them.

    This company is very good for getting covered appliances repaired but they do have one bad coverage issue. Here's my story: Our 5 year old Kenmore washer broke and CHW dispatched a service repair man to fix it. He assessed the issue and CHW decided it was not worth repairing and that they would replace the machine. Here is where I feel CHW has failed in a big way.

    Our Kenmore Elite washer sells for $799 but CHW only offered us $349 to replace it. Their excuse was that they do not promise to replace the washer with an identical unit and they only offer an amount of money based on their discounted price for a unit with similar features. Unfortunately we cannot find anything with similar features anywhere near $349 and, although CHW tells you what their discounted cost is, they do not have anything in place to assist customers in finding anything near their discounted price.

    After spending time discussing our concern, CHW finally agreed to send a check for $500 which still leaves us with over $400 out of pocket expense not to mention taxes, delivery and the $45 service charge we already paid. That being said, CHW is great for getting repairs handled quickly, just be aware their Replacement policy is not what most customers expect when they purchase a Choice Home Warranty policy.

    I am currently not real happy because of the difficulty in getting my refrigerator repaired. It has been well over a month since I reported my problem to you & my refrigerator is STILL NOT FIXED. We have been through 3 different repair companies so far. The 1st one never even looked for a problem, but was quick to analyze what he thought & ordered parts, but after two weeks. Called & cancelled. Then you rescheduled & the 2nd one NEVER SHOWED UP. We are now on our 3rd one which is Sears, & we are so far happy, but the parts he ordered have not arrived yet.     I researched several home warranty companies and yours was a top rated one. I called to get rates, and don't recall the name of the man I spoke to. He was informative and I appreciated him telling me about the three and five year discount programs. Then he really started to pressure me, and continued to do so even after I told him I didn't have the money to buy the five year plan, while it was a good deal. It got to the point where he kept pushing and it got upsetting. I am only working part time and living on a small pension, which I told him but he kept pressing for the five year plan. My advise is to LISTEN to who the sales guy is talking to and RESPECT when told it isn't affordable, instead of keep pushing! This upset me a lot! And this is the reason for four stars instead of five. Otherwise, I am happy to get the coverage for the price I paid.

    I had an issue in 5+ year old Samsung Frech door refrigerator. Choice Home Warranty sent Samsung unauthorized technician from KEA Services. He replaced vent fan in the first visit but refrigerator did not work. In the second visit he heard the noise and said that compressor is not working and it is covered by manufacturer. Choice Home Warranty said that, "We do not cover the manufacture warranty covered part. You need to talk to Samsung and get it repair from Samsung. We will pay labor cost."

    I went with Samsung to repair Compressor. Samsung guy said, "Refrigerator compressor seal opened so we do not work on seal opened refrigerator." I reached Choice Home warranty on this and they said that, "You need to talk to the technician. We can't do anything on this." The cost of my refrigerator in 2013 was $2500. Finally, the Choice Home Warranty made my refrigerator value to $0. The CHOICE HOME WARRANTY is a SCAMMER. He plays a lot with terms and conditions and try not to pay anything. I request everyone that do not cheat by them. My other two friends also cancelled their warranty due to bad experience with them. -Guna

    I contracted with Choice Home Warranty after listening to all the B.S. in their sales pitch. My refrigerator started giving me trouble and I made a claim. They sent out a technician who told me that it could not be fixed. A few days later I got a offer of less than $500.00 to replace a $2800.00 refrigerator. The representative I spoke with was not friendly at all, and finally offered me $600.00 telling me that, that was the most they would pay, and that they could buy a comparable refrigerator for that price, but would not tell me where. After considering this, I decided I had been scammed, and had better take what I could get. I called the representative back, and was told I could expect a check in 20 to 30 days. So much for customer service and honoring your advertising claims. False advertising at its finest.

    Initial Contact and Sign Up. The rep was too persistent with his upsells after signing me up for the total package. He kept repeating it did not benefit him but me. Not sure why he kept emphasizing that. Let the product sell itself. He quickly ended the call when he saw I would not agree to upgrading to a senior package. I'm not yet 55. He said he did not know why I would want to pay for a $700 package when I could have one cheaper if I would only agree to an annual renewal. I believe first time customers should have the opportunity to utilize your services then decide if they want to move forward with annual enrollments.

    I had one final question and while asking it, the sales rep disconnected the line. He had my credit card number so I guess he thought there was no need to talk further. All agents should ask if there is anything else they can do before abruptly ending the call. I called back the next day to remove the Limited Roof Leak because I have a flat asphalt roof on the house. I specifically told the first rep I spoke to when inquiring about the online ad that I had a flat roof and he said it would be covered. Glad I read the fine print. The Resolution Manager quickly removed that coverage and said I would see the refund to my account in 15 days.

    Incidentally, I also got a call on my cell phone the following day from CHW to discuss installing a new home security system. The upsells never stop so be prepared. I do like that everything is clearly spelled out in the pdf benefits package sent via email once the enrollment is complete. Hate that not only are the sensors not covered on the garage but the rollers/springs are not covered either. CHW allows a 30 day review and cancellation. Will see how it all works out during the next 13 months. Other reviews have commented on how prompt they are when filing a claim. Having a home warranty does give me peace of mind.

    My claim was denied because they said it was a leak caused by corrosion. When I asked the Case Manager he explained it was not covered so I ask him when do you replace HVAC units. He mumbled that it does happen but could not give me a specific instance. Your commercials routinely show a customer stating that their HVAC unit was broken and Choice was having it replaced. I feel strongly that you are engaging in deceptive and possibly false advertising. I have canceled my Warranty policy ** immediately and will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General's Office. The refund you issued was like everything you do reducing by your "fine print" to $615.83 and should be $875. Very disappointed,

    I’m currently fighting with them concerning a $500 fee they want to charge me, to fix the AC, on top of the $1200 they charged me upfront when I signed up with them. The agent who sold me the policy didn’t mention anything to me about inclusions and exclusions. All what he told me, to convince me to purchase the policy, that if it’s something they can’t fix, they’ll replace for no extra charge than the $85 service call. Now they are telling me that whatever part that has to replaced is not covered. Not happy at all and will not renew my contract next year with them.

    The company reached out to us and offered me the number that at the very least I needed to get in order to get something similar to what we had. It still required money out of my pocket to get the exact same thing. 3 stars is probably generous considering it took me 3 separate phone calls that were all lengthy. Only after I submitted this review did I get a response with someone willing to assist me. The one bright spot is that it took less than 24 hours (although I did reply with a private message and they never responded). I understand they are trying to make money but to be so reactive and not customer centric is a pretty terrible formula for a company. I'm still not sure I would recommend this company. If one has to put up a real fight every time something happens when they purchased protection, it really doesn't seem worth it. Be better than me and do a little more research into the companies that provide home warranties.

    We are not being given an honest number on what it will take to replace our convection oven. We were told the amount would be "based on the national average price of a Range with similar features, capacity and efficiency". Then, we were given the number $299. This isn't a number that could replace the most basic oven. We called back twice and expressed our concern because it is not possible to replace a convection oven at this amount. They increased the amount by 150 but I'm still frustrated because that doesn't line up with the earlier statement. "National average of a range with similar features, capacity, and efficiency" would easily put this number in the mid 600s and that's not the average that's the lowest.

    Despite this fact I'm concerned that if something more costly goes wrong I'm going to be left with a majority of the responsibility to replace. What is the point of going with a warranty plan if it cannot at its most basic level replace the unit I had prior? This company is not being intellectually honest with its customers and looking for any way to get out of the service they claim to offer. I've now been without a working oven for over 3 weeks and I've been told that it will take 72 hours to escalate to a director that is going "tell me the same thing". I don't think I'm being unreasonable to expect that this be handled in a more professional manner with the slightest bit of integrity.

    I have been with Choice Home Warranty for over a year now, and I am very unhappy with the support I have received since I've been with them. I have two homes that are with the company, and between the two homes I have submitted maybe ten claims. Out of the claims I submitted two was a write off and maybe one fixed. There is always a reason as to why my claim can't be honored. I am so sorry for not checking the reviews, and now I'm stuck with another two years on this contract. I am paying for all my repairs out of pocket, and once this contract is over, I will not sign up with anyone else. Stay away from Home Choice Warranty, they will not fix anything for you.

    This home warranty is the worst choice you could select. They find any means possible to refuse meeting their obligations. This claim was for an AC unit that had failed. The contractor confirmed and CHOICE HOME WARRANTY DENIED the claim. They disregard you as a customer and delete your account as soon as you attempt a claim. Good luck if you choose this company.

    I paid $698 for my warranty only to find that every time I needed service; there were no service people in my area or they were the worst of the worst. I ended up getting my own person nearly every repair and then the battle to get reimbursed began. Their approval line seems to be answered occasionally and I had more than three contractors say they couldn’t sit longer than 20 minutes for approval. So that means your claim is denied. Then I have to jump up and down screaming to get the warranty coverage I paid for.

    One of their genius contractors showed up and fixed the wrong item. Another never showed at all. A third quoted almost $2000.00 to fix a pool pump my contractor fixed for $300. Today was the last straw. Pool heat pump goes out. Our guy quotes $959 to fix. They, of course had no technicians available so we go the reimbursement route yet again. This time I find out their ambiguous wording says heat pumps aren’t covered, but every other type of pool heater is. I’m told this is to keep costs low. Keeping costs low would be nice; getting contractors who show up, bring their own tools, fix the correct items and coverage on what you expect would also be nice.

    Got Scammed. They schedule the cheapest, lowest skilled repair technicians with long wait times. When my AC broke down, I gave them four days to fix it. An AC guy came but said he would have to come back, never came back. Paid $65 fee for them to come out. Asked if I can find my own repair guy to come and do repairs, they said yes and just file the claim later. Got the AC fixed asap and when tried to file a claim, they brought out steps that were supposed to be followed.... WHAT A SCAM!!!!

    Started on 09/29/2019. After AC Tech came out on 09/30/2019 CHW decided to refuse warranty. Said it would not be covered because of corrosion on the Evaporative coil & leakage. 10/01/2019 AC tech returned to do leak test & refill Refrigerate at my expense. "No Leaks Found"! He added 4-1/2 lbs. of refrigerate & said it was fixed, $390.99.

    (10/12/2019): Update: Air Conditioning is still not fixed, running water into garage for a week. We had a couple of cool days when Air Conditioning wasn't running & pan overflow into garage quit running water. However when AC started back up overflow pan started running water into garage again (5-10 gal every 24 hours. CHW (Glendalys ** & BBB) confirmed check for $435.99 is being paid back to me for money spent. Repair is still not Complete & should be per CHW (Glendalys ** & BBB). CHW advertisement using George Foreman states "you will never have to pay for another home repair again" with CHW!

    Update on 10/14/2019. I am adding more information as of phone call on October 14 @ 3:08pm cst. Glendalys ** called to say she never sent the refund for $435.99 on 10/04/2019, but offered a $700.00 check & I would be responsible for my own repairs. Knowing Leak Test showed no leaks, but Glendalys ** said Air Force Cooling confirmed 3 times that there was a leak. Although their receipt to me says "no leaks found". She went on to say it was leaking at corrosion on the Evaporator Coil. I did ask that they send another AC company for a 2nd opinion, they refused! So I called & talked to another AC Tech with over 30 years experience. This is what he said: "ALL Evaporator Relay Coils have corrosion. If you have a leak in yours CHW has to fix it per The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) law."

    However CHW can't fix it because the part is no longer available for a unit using R-22 refrigerate (cost anywhere from $400.00 to $600.00 for part if you found one). Again per The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) CHW would have to replace the Central air unit (this is why I have a warranty company). So CHW is trying to get out of paying to fix the unit, because of it using R-22 Refrigerate & they need to replace the entire central air unit. New Central air unit $8,000.00-$10,000.00. I hope this helps you understand more fully what I am going through. I think because I'm a senior citizen I feel CHW has been taking advantage of me. This is the 1st repair I called CHW since buying a 5 year VIP plan, paid in full upfront in June. I've had other Home Warranties & never this problem.

    Update 10/9/2019: 1st CHW said "we don't cover leak test" (suggested by tech) & refused to cover repair. 2nd CHW said there was rust/corrosion found on the evaporator coil & said there must be a leak there. Sadly enough that is not covered because of rust/corrosion (assuming there was a leak there). Although leak test showed no leaks on invoice, but techs claims different. Where is the proof? 3rd CHW refused to cover or finish repair (still having trouble with unit). I ask for to "get a 2nd opinion", but CHW said no. I now do not trust Air Force Cooling to touch my unit, because they can't tell me or CHW the same story. Seems like CHW doesn't cover AC units if the sun is shining.

    CHW said they sent a check on 10/04/2019 to pay me back for out of pocket, but never did. 10/14/2019 CHW said they sent a $700.00 check for expenses, but never did. I still would like repair finished, with guarantee & paid back for out of pocket $435.99. Also would like a full refund on 5 year warranty $2,100.00 & cancel policy, since this is my 1st claim. CHW has covered nothing & yet wants to prorate a refund from June, including deducting out of the refund what I already paid as if they paid it!

    Awful! I have always had a Home Warranty Company and decided to switch to Choice Home Warranty this year. I filed a claim because my furnace wouldn't start up and needed one 2 parts replaced and it was denied due to squirrels dropping nuts down the vent pipe? Are you kidding me?! What a lie. Having a small issue with your furnace is exactly why you would want to buy a Home Warranty Policy. I am definitely going back to my old company (HWA). Choice Warranty did nothing to address my concerns and would rather lose my business than replace a few inexpensive parts.

    Diagnostics indicated the back plate and circulating fan needed replacement. This was accomplished by removing the back plate to access the fan. Tech 1 removed and replaced the back plate as I recall, he also reinstalled drawers and shelf covering back plate receptacle. Tech 2 removed drawers and shelf to replace the back plate and fan. There was some difficulty noticed during removal. He installed new plate and saying he was done, left abruptly. The drawers and shelf was not reinstalled. We were to allow time to defrost the evaporator coils, which we were doing. While inspecting for defrosting it was noticed that the receptacle that the back plate sits in was cracked in two places on the corners. The purpose of the redesigned backplate was to assure water was diverted from the fan. Now there is a gap left allowing water to access the fan due to the cracks on the corners. Additional help is needed.

    I have Limited Roof Leak coverage on my Choice Home Warranty Policy. Yet they refused to fix two leaks at the base of the two valleys on the roof. I got it down to just getting the leak patched up instead of redoing the valleys which is the right way to do it. They asked the technician if the patches were a full or partial roof replacement. He said "partial" as it was obvious we were not replacing the entire roof. They came back and told me that it was denied because of the "partial" word used by the technician. Even replacing a few shingles is "partial" in my books. So wonder what their definition is of the word and what exactly will they cover. Feel so betrayed by this company.

    I would definitely be more cautious on those ratings with 5 Stars as they were probably written by people for Choice. I think I must have done one too. They pay for a small repair and then entice you by saying they will give you a couple of months of coverage for free or a "free" service call if you could write a good review for them. I know I was approached by them in a similar fashion. So please do your homework and look before you leap. They were bold enough to tell me that "all" home warranty companies have complaints against them but yet they are still in business!! That itself proves how they are out to get innocent people!!

    This company is horrible. We paid for the additional coverage of our well pump which went bad. They sent out a guy who wanted to replace everything. Then Choice denied our claim. We have been w/o water in our house for 4 days trying to fix the issue. We have appealed and have now had to wait an additional 24 hours for a supervisor. Save your money and use a different home warranty company. This one is not as good as they claim. They take your money and fail you when you call them for assistance.

During our conversation, I enrolled in "Total Coverage" (discounted to $480 @ $65 per service call). Terms were to be for 13-months coverage (1-month free) and include the limited roof repair coverage as an added incentive (for which Brittany requested & received approval from her supervisor). Brittany assured that, within a few minutes after the call, I would receive two e-mails. One detailing the specifics and terms of the "Total Coverage" I procured, and another confirming the addition of limited roof coverage.
