    I wish I had read the information that's on Better Business Bureau (BBB.com) about Choice Home Warranty, I would never sign with them for their services. Terrible experience trying to get my appliance fix, it's hard to get hold to them and even then you get to talk to them they told me (3 times) that I would rec a call with a solution, after 20 days dealing with them, more than 25 phone calls and 6 emails they told me they won't fix my 3 year old refrigerator. Since I saw no intentions from them to fix my refrigerator I went and paid the $678 because according to one of the Managers dealing with my case he told me to send him the bill and he will reimburse part of the bill. Well after the long battle they told me won't pay anything.

    I did service this refrigerator every 6 months (cleaned the back of it including the compressor and coil). I even send them pictures of it but their excuse for not to pay is that got broken cuz it had to be very dirty that made the coil fail. Unbelievable... I guess my $33 policy is too cheap compare to the $678 repair. I REALLY RECOMMEND KEEP AWAY FROM CHOICE HOME WARRANTY and read other reviews other than CHW cuz I could not leave a review on their website even when at the beginning they send me one but after a week dealing with them was no longer available.

    On May 5 I called to discuss a possible plan for my home appliances, pool/spa for one year.     I scheduled a call for a tub not draining. It backed up in the middle of a shower. I called and set up for a service call. The plumber called back later in the afternoon to let me know they would be out 6 days later.     They are very efficient when it comes to selling their services. But when it comes to pay a claim, they are the worst, They will deny claims with any excuse. The cartridge of the guest bathroom broke while my son was taking a shower. I did a claim and they sent a plumber a day after. The plumber said that it broke for wear and tear, those cartridge have been on the house since it was built 8 years ago. They denied my claim saying it wasn't for wear and tear because the plumber didn't specifically wrote in the report "wear and tear". They told me that I could appeal the decision, so I did. I was assigned a case manager that wrote me an email introducing himself with his contact number. I called him a hundred times, sent I don't know how many emails and the guy never got back to me.

    I called customer service another hundred times too letting them know the situation and their only answered was that I have to wait for the case manager to reach me. In one of the many calls that I did to customer service they guy told me that I was going to be assign another case manager which for my surprise never called, that one not even send me his/her information on a email. I called the plumbing company that they sent me so they could fix it me paying out of my pocket because it needed to be fixed, but nobody answered either. Not even the technician they sent were reliable. I had another company and I decided to change to CHW because the other company increased my premium, that was a huge mistake on my part. I choose CHW because of the good reviews and because it was the cheapest. Now I know why it's the cheapest, they don't pay claims.

    My refrigerator quit cooling in the entire system and I filed a claim with CHW that day. I noted that this service call and hopefully repair needed immediate attention. After assignment of a vendor, the appointment was 3 DAYS later. I emailed CHW and asked for more immediate attention directly with the vendor. Tashay, CWH customer service, did call me and the vendor to get an earlier appointment.. Note that I called the vendor and got a 2 day arrival. CHW did try, but could not get me an earlier appointment. I was told that this vendor offered the soonest appointments.

    On the day of appointment the technician arrived and diagnosed the problem within 30 minutes. I had to ask him what he found. He said he had to wait for CHW to determine whether they would pay for repair. I told him that this has happened while the technician was on site with me. He said that wasn't the way they worked. He packed up and left within an hour of arrival. I was deflated to say the least.

    The next day I had a message from CHW that they weren't repairing it and offered a substantially reduced amount for me to use in getting a new refrigerator. I accepted their offer because, in my past experience, it wasn't worthwhile to ask them for more. I ordered a new refrigerator, which isn't scheduled for delivery for 10 days, so I'm left without this critical appliance with 2 weeks. I caution people that CWH doesn't offer emergency service. Also I was not impressed by the vendor, whose online reviews are high. However, I'm not convinced of it since their service for this home warranty customer wasn't great.

    Technician was prompt and courteous. I complained about noise I hear when I use my dryer. It sounded like a chain was rattling around inside of my dryer. I checked the inside and nothing was there. I saw a commercial on the television about the home warranty company. They advertise the fact that appliances are covered. I checked my service manual and realized that my dryer is covered and it clearly says if they can not fix it they will replace it.

    I realized that I should call and get a technician to come in and evaluate the condition of my dryer. It probably would be simple, like maybe a belt popped. When the technician arrived, he said that the dryer is possibly no longer sold. This dryer was from Montgomery Wards. Wards is no longer in business. He however, searched for the part that would need to be replaced. He state if he was not able to get parts because they may no longer be available. The company may suggest that I replace my dryer.

    I have had your warranty for nearly a year, and in that time I've had two appliances that you determined could not be repaired. In your advertising you say that if an appliance can't be repaired, it will be replaced. This is not true. Both times I was offered money to "replace" my appliance. Both times the amount offered was far less than the cost of a similar appliance. If you state in your advertising that you will replace an appliance, that is what you should do. I was assigned a case manager, most recently Yvette, who, once I was able to make contact with her, made a more reasonable offer which I accepted. It was still not close to what the cost would be to replace my washer, nor close to what the cost was when purchased. I will not renew my warranty based upon my experiences.

    Unfortunately, I've had several appliances break down since I moved into this home. Based upon my experience, many appliance repair services do not want to work with Choice, one technician was sent to my home 3 times, I was not comfortable with him in my home so when I needed a technician for another repair, I requested that someone else be sent. (This happened twice). I called and requested a different technician be sent. On one occasion, I had to find my own technician and was reimbursed. I was without an oven for three weeks, without a washer for a week on two different occasions. I plan on putting aside some money for future repairs instead of continuing my warranty when it expires in July.

    My first call was April 11, 2020, took a week to hear back, Another few days went by and they were going to send out Smith Mechanical Heating and Cooling, another day or two went by and I finally called Smith mechanical heating and cooling, they told me they wouldn't be coming out because it was too far and not worth there time. I called CHW said they would send out another vendor or I could have someone local fix my problem and I would get reimbursed, I check the email that CHW send me and it said that my heating unit was not covered for a reimbursement.

    I called the next day and was told they would send out another vendor, that took another 2 days before my heating unit was repaired by 'Blue water climate control' was just as far, It took a total of 19 days to have my heating unit repaired. No, I am not happy, I don't know how in the world you got a #1 rating. I'd like to talk to your CEO of CHW ASAP. I'm also considering legal action and I'm thinking of sending in a report to the BBB. When you look at the rating I gave you'll know why. I believe I should get some refund money back.

    The Service Techs have been great... they all say the same thing... when the air conditioning come on around this time of year the amps brakes, the breaker and the wiring to the air conditioner melts... suggesting it may be too small for the house but it was the original AC unit and it’s old...anyway it was serviced twice in 2019 once for wiring and once for Freon...The Freon was expensive but got us through the summer... so here we are again same problem...respectfully, James **...picture were sent in by service rep..

    The Tech didn't fix the problem. Communication was horrible, he couldn't understand me and didn't understand him. When he called me stating he was finished, I turned on the burners. We waited for approximately 5-7 minutes and they didn't turn red. He said he checked the temperature and it was fine, color doesn't matter (The electric burner turns red indicating they're hot). I tried explaining that to him, again he didn't understand me! Frustrated at this point of repetition I just paid the fee and asked him to leave. However he did fix the fan but turned the burners and oven on and said it's fine. He said he took a photo of them hot but we both stood there and they barely got warm.

    Air conditioning service. My biggest disappointment was the length of time I had to wait to have a service appointment - two weeks. This is totally unacceptable. Had this happened during the summer - I WOULD HAD TO find service elsewhere; so why have the contract?     It's funny you ask for me to be accurate and fair. Well this is how I truly see your company. I was with another company when I talked with a member of your company. I decided to go with Choice warranty. My mistake. I won't mention my 1st claim. This is my 2nd claim is my not water heater. 1st you tell me I have to pay $200.00 for new line $125.00 and $75.00 for disposal of the old heater. Not your fault. I will accept responsibility for not reading your agreement completely. I agree. 2nd I get call on Wednesday from your contractor. He states Choice has ordered my heater and he will be there by 10:00 am. He calls back 30mins later and states you ordered the wrong size heater. I wait then call. I'm told it will be taken care a mistake was made.

    I wait again. No call on Thursday so I call and I'm told the contractor will call on Friday morning. No one stated anything about my inconvenience. I will be waiting until I get this claim behind me and start my search again. I'm going to be fair and just say Choice Warranty is not the company for me. I learned that I need to read the agreement from the beginning to the end. That's my fault. The next company that I choose I will take the time to read and ask questions. I will not take the word of someone trying to sale me something.

    I wish it would have explained better how the process worked when you file a claim when I purchased the warranty. My hot water heater goes starts leaking and my out of pocket expense is over 300.00 dollars. The 65.00 service call which I was aware of and an additional 225.00 charge from the contractor that they hired. The water heater is under the manufacturer warranty so Choice Home Warranty won't be paying that amount either.     I have had to call out a few things being this is a new house. I have a spigot by my pool. The pipe was was busted off. Choice did not cover because the word hose bib was included in plumber's request to repair. Really? 300.00 out of pocket. "Well head" leaking like a sieve. Plumber put a hose bib to keep cost down. CHOICE didn't pay him for the bib. Pipes leading to house were busted. CHOICE didn't approve repair because it was not the actual WELL HEAD. They don't cover hose bibs or pipes and pipe attached to the warrantied specific item. It doesn't matter that my well water isn't getting to house. Crazy mentality.

    The representative assigned to me couldn't speak to my issue, so my claim was disapproved. 750.00 out of pocket. I paid for a year. I asked for a refund...they said, "We can't do that because you have spent your annual premium." Representative kept pointing out that my cost have exceeded my yearly premium. I wonder if that is why they are disapproving my claims? We are in April...there are 8 months left. There should be a refund. I am being held hostage. Perfect example of a rip off. If you look up home warranties they are listed number 1; must be for those people who don't have many issues.

It did take 2 weeks for the technician to get the evaporator coil and work us into the schedule, but it is fixed. At the same time our hot water heater busted and leaked.     Make an appointment. The AC technician never showed up. Second appointment after finishing the w oi work, the water dripping was still happening.     This was our second call in 2 weeks about our air conditioner not cooling. First tech came out. His solution? Turn off the unit for 48 hours then turn it back on. If it does not cool call back. It did not work! This week Dexterity came out. Said our unit in the attic had not been service and it was all rusted up there plus low on freon. They also stated this freon was going out and we needed to change the unit to a more modern one IF they put a request to Choice and with the pictures it would be a denial on our report and we did not want that. They quoted us the price of 3200 to 5400 to put in a new unit in the attic and they would not send in their negative report to Choice Warranty- We ended up paying 325.00 for freon in our unit even though according to these guys would not last long at all. There was a small leak.

    M7J Plumbing 39 LLC came by to perform the repairs. The plumber snake the toilet, because he said it was stopped up. After he unstopped the toilet it was working fine. It wasn't until after someone used it that it started backing up again. I think Choice needs to send another plumber to look into the matter.

    I had a 5 year contract that ends this year, thank God. This company sells "Snake Oil". They send inferior contractors to your home. The last contractor that came to fix my Microwave Oven, looked at it, and told me which parts he was going to order.     I contacted Choice Warranty about my garbage disposal which required a plumber, I also needed two drains looked at by a plumber, but I learned That I was going to be charged for two service fees for the same person To be here. Plus I could not call anyone to talk to them, it was only through online and the plumber could not either. The plumber who came was good, but he was very grouchy and complaining the whole time. I felt he should be happy to have a job! I got a new disposal but had to cancel the drain issue. Next time I would like to use a different plumbing company.

    Called Choice because my bathtub faucet was leaking and causing water to pool at the bottom of the tub. Filled out a claim online. Plumber came and snakes the tub but said I’d have to submit a separate claim and pay another service fee for the drip. How is that possible?! It’s the same unit/product. My tub is not working correctly. I file a claim to have it fixed. They come and it’s still not working correctly I can see if it was an emotive let different unit, like sink drip but it’s all the same product. It makes no sense! If I had called a plumber from Yelp, he would have fixed the entire tub in one visit as one service call.

    Choice should be shamed of themselves ripping people off. I’m 86 years old and live on a fixed income. And during this pandemic can’t have different servicemen coming in and out of my house. I asked them if the same plumber could come and fix a different issue in another bathroom and they said he didn’t answer the phone and assigned it to a different company. Choice isn’t willing or concerned about their clients' well being or best interest in the slightest. I’m very disappointed in their service and will be asking my daughter to help men find alternatives.
