Spoke to a very nice representative. He told me 85. Per repair. As soon as I hung up. A quote special of 75 came up. Would like that change on my acct. I’m on social security. Every penny counts. Thank you.

Very poor customer service! Called my claim on Sunday morning that my A/C in my house was not working. They scheduled a repair for the next day between 11:00 and 3:00. The repair person finally arrived at 8:30 PM after dark. Went to my outside condenser and said he wasn’t qualified to work on my unit and left. I called the next day to get another repair person scheduled. After several calls, they scheduled a repair person for Friday! I explained to Choice that I needed repaired sooner as my house is in excess of 80 degrees. They are uncaring and inflexible. I think I am going to cancel my contract with them! Do not use their service! In a word, it is TERRIBLE!

Central heat was repaired by installing new heating coils. Great job done. Thank you for the service technician, Jeremy, with Streamline HVAC repairs. Heating unit was repaired successfully and I am now a happy camper. Would highly recommend Streamline HVAC Repair Services to anyone. Absolutely a gentleman in all regards. Polite, professional and business-like. Would highly recommend the company and recommend purchasing the home warranty service from Choice Home Warranty.

Air conditioning. Great customer service and speedy claim request set up to include requesting and the scheduling of the arrival of the tech. and the approval of a new unit. I was just calling in to inquiry about a home warranty, Nathan was knowledgeable and friendly. When I was trying to get off the phone and review info I had gotten Nathan asked me to wait and he came back with a 3yr plan offer. It was interesting and after a few more rounds I finally went this the 3 yr option. He was clear and easy to understand and answered all my questions.

I was online looking for a quote. As soon as I entered my information an agency called me and convinced me I needed a 6 year plan. I say convinced because I said "no" several times because I DO NOT EVEN OWN THE PROPERTY yet!!! We hadn't done the house inspection, or financing. He assured me I could read over and cancel "within 30 days" and "at any time". Fortunately I was able to cancel 5 days later. The rep was very nice and helpful and was able to help me with a more suitable arrangement. Everyone I spoke to was nice, I just don't like being pushed into something after I've said no.

I was contacted by Choice representative to renew nice three-year contract and was agreed upon swindled the exact contract I was in for another three years +6 months with a service fee of $45 and I requested that in confirmation should be emailed to me. When I received the email I noticed the service fee stated $60 each time. I called back to customer service resolution department and the matter was corrected instantly and I received an email to that effect. Good job Choice, working with your elderly during this epidemic.

I had two faucets leaking water. I contacted Choice Home Warranty and they dispatched San Antonio Plumbing. Armando was the technician dispatched. He was very professional and courteous. We had a great experience this time. I would recommend San Antonio Plumbing.

The washer was fixed on time and tech did a great job. He called in advance and was earlier than expected. I would recommend him for any washer machine repairs. He was very knowledgeable. He did not mind explaining what he was doing and cleaned up after he finished.

AC fan stop working. I made the claim on Thursday night, and the appointment was set for Monday morning. The only problem is that I live in TX and the temp was 87-93 degrees over the weekend so my home was extremely HOT. You have to make some type of way to get weekend support. Some family have medical conditions that can't wait for days to get and AC fixed.

If Choice uses Sears Home services for services it's good. However, when Choice uses independent contractors the service is "terrible". Independent contractors are not experienced and or lack knowledge. Unfortunately Choice is getting ripped off by the independent contractor as the work is not done correctly or has to be redone. For Sears they are the best!!!! Make sure the fine print in the Choice Contract is closely read as Choice as their own interpretation of the contract. I'm only happy because Sears was used.

I called and was told the plumber would be out in 48 hours. He was there within two and was done in another thirty minutes. He was very polite and knowledgeable. Left the area clean. Would recommend him to anyone. Smith Plumbing was excellent.

My unit wasn't properly working. It turns out that the thermostat was faulty. The technician came in earlier than the schedule time which turns out good for me. He diagnosed the issue and determined that it was the thermostat. He went to his vehicle and brought in a new thermostat and voila problem solved. I must say that all the time technician was at my house he was very respectful and wore mask and gloves at all times especially in this covid-19 era. I commended the technician's professionalism from the moment he rang my doorbell to the time he completed the job. One question I have is my old thermostat was wifi as opposed to the one he changed. Not sure if the replacement should be the same or at least comparable. All went well and my family and I are one happy customer.

Fridge repair. Amazingly fast appointment set time! I made the appointment on a Thursday, appointment was set for Saturday. Thorough technician. Very friendly and professional. I would recommend both Choice and the service professional. I researched a lot of home warranty companies and Choice was the best suited for our needs.

I submitted a claim several weeks ago, during the high of the virus pandemic and it's not been a pleasant experience so far as I can't get much information other than it's been approved and I check is coming. I would like to submit a pleasant experience update but still waiting so I can't say much at this time. Submit request Friday 15, 2020 morning before 0700am. Email was send to me stating that it would be Monday between 11-3. I call customer service. Ask for a weekend call due to fact I work thru the week and live alone. Tech come out look at, got paid and said it going take another day or two to be repair cause they need authorization from Choice warranty. I'm paiding over 600.00 a year for ** service and 65.00 for service call and cannot honor our agreement. Are you serious. Nobody works on the weekend who could do it and now got wait another 3-4 days for something that could be fix in a day less than an hour. What happen to same day/24hrs service call. THIS ** COST ME A DAY'S WORK BEING AT HOME AND STILL DIDN'T FIX IT. MY GOD. YOUR SERVICE IS A JOKE!!!!

Possible short in refrigerator light. The repairman came, evaluated the problem and fixed the issue with no further repairs were needed. He was very considerate since it was an issue that I could have fixed myself. It was a burned-out light bulb as well as the replacement bulb that I tried.

Quick response to a late-night event. Very timely and professional. Had quite a bit of water accumulating and leaking onto ceiling, helped to get water removed prior to more damage was incurred. Polite and knowledgeable, showed me how to prevent this problem from recurring.

Sales person was very pushy!!!! Was constantly trying to push a more expensive coverage on me. When told I was not interested, he continued. I came very close of hanging up on him. After I bought the coverage, your company continued calling me. So far I'm very dissatisfied!!!!

Had a good quick experience. Got an appt quick and service was good and it got fixed the first time. Getting something fix with the first appt is key for a good experience. Also having a high quality vendor is very important. I value getting things fix at the first appt.

I signed up for your service one or two days ago and the receipt came back with the wrong city for my address coverage. I have tried multiple times to communicate this fact and have failed to receive any confirmation that you are insured. My address as being in Peoria Illinois and not again not Alton Illinois. Please confirm that you have it on record that my insured address is 4532 N. Thornhill Dr. in Peoria Illinois. If this is done I will be quite satisfied with your service. I had an electrician from TJ Tech sent out promptly through Choice. However, after fixing the exhaust fan it became louder and the electrician said he will contact you all and let you know it's working but still extremely loud. I Never heard back from no one. This exhaust is very irritating. Please Advise!

GE OTR Microwave. Second problem within a month. Call was dispatched to Sears Factory Service. Responded, excellent org. The same day. Repairman was courteous, professional, neat and thorough. He discussed problems he found. Decision was made by Choice to replace the unit. I am waiting to hear from Choice.

Dishwasher. The young man I spoke to was wonderful. Je took care of my issue promptly and allowed me to use Dudek Appliance who has been to our home in the past. We really like them and think they are the best people to handle appliance repair.

I have pleasant customer service when I call. On the other hand we always seem to have a delay in getting items fixed. Working on week two without a water heater. I have spend a lot of time on the phone between choices and the company who is fixing/replacing it. Can’t get answers to questions I ask. I was told by one yesterday that they don’t have contact with another department of choices. Which I find very hard to believe. Even a supervisor couldn’t get me the info I was seeking. I didn’t realize that I would be on the phone going back and forth this much just to get a water heater. I will now have to find a way to have someone at the house when they decide to install a new one for the 4th time.
We had one company not show when we were told, the second company has been great. Came out fixed it but about 24hrs later it was broke again. They came out, evaluated it again, finally got approved to be replaced. After getting the approval we have waited most of Friday, Saturday, and now it’s Sunday so we assume nothing will be taken care of today.

After not having the best of luck with my first service call. The second time the company DeRosas Heating & Cooling Came out. The service guy Mike and his trainee were awesome. They were very friendly and ask what the problems were. Felt they went above and beyond on double checking everything after get the problem fixed. I am very pleased with the service and how choices handled the situation after the first time.

I was set up with a technician almost immediately. He was friendly and knowledgeable. The downside was that no one asked if that day/time would work for me. It was decided that a replacement was in order. The work was, again, scheduled without input from me. I will have to miss work and I have no idea what model is slated to be installed. Choice Warranty is fast but not user friendly or transparent.

My Kenmore washer was leaking during usage. It didn't leak on any cycle but the clean cycle and that was primarily at the end of the cycle. I had used it the week before with no problem. I called in the claim, they responded promptly.

Electrical and plumbing. None of the cost of the work was covered although I can’t believe none of it is covered. My hot water heater still has not been replaced. We are having to go through the weekend with no hot water again. Hopefully we will hear something on Monday.

I have been working on this since 5/13. I called placed the order, got an email next day with date and time. I called the Co. I called tech to change the time. Told me he was working on my order would get back to me. Never did! Called Gwen 5/15. She called the tech for me. He was on a job, would get back to me. Nothing!! He had an accent. I had a hard time understanding him and I think he didn't get what I wanted.? This did NOT give me a very good impression with this service. I may cancel and ask for a refund of $2,400.00. I am not happy.

We were very disappointed. The repair was not covered under the warranty. This was our first time we used our warranty and the claim was denied. Apparently a tub over flow drain is considered a “fixture” so it was not covered. So we had to pay the $65 service plus get it fixed elsewhere. However, the service provider was very nice. We did like the quick response to our claim.

Used an excuse not to help and want a refund so I can use someone else. Still haven’t received a call back when I was told I would receive one. I definitely would not recommend Choice to anyone. I’m utterly disgusted.

I called because the garbage disposal wouldn't come on and water was leaking. Water is still leaking. I called back because it has to be leaking from one of the other appliance. The person was very nice and fix the disposal very quickly.

I was also told the price would be started off $650 but got discount of $150 leaving it $500 per year for 3.5 that should equal $1.250 but was charged $1,800. Please help me understand. Had to fight to get my claim approved (you weren't sure if my 20 year old microwave door handle broke from normal wear and tear...what??). Now your approved service company won't return my phone calls to get this repaired. It should not be this difficult folks.

Refrigerators that never got fix. I waited over five days for the first appt. and never got better after he lift, I'm disabled and lost a lot of my food, now again over five day for Sears to come back, I found their no. and I waited over thirty min, and send me to another dept. and another 30 min, and it hang up, I was trying to get a sooner appt. Now it May 20, no food, can you help and get a sooner apt. I'm in a wheelchair, and I need my food and my boy, renting one is 12o. for 3 month min.

The company let me to believe that my total charge will be $65. Upon arrival I was informed that other than the parts which needed to be replaced I was going to be charged between three and $400 to recover the Freon in my system and for a leak search on a coil another $200-$300. It turned out that it would be cheaper to buy a new system for over $6700 than to allow the company to provide the necessary repairs as they couldn’t guarantee that repairs would last beyond six months..And then spend at the same amount again. Think twice before signing up with this company. The company which they sent out to service the unit was very good and I had good faith in their assessment and the installation which followed. Just too many loopholes… It was a waste of money. They probably won’t allow this review to be published. I would not buy coverage again from this company.

Created a claim got response and an appointment w/i 24 hours. 5 Star Plumbing very easy to work with when I had to reschedule day and time. Tech arrived on time and was polite, knowledgeable, checked with Choice before telling me I needed a new disposal. Was surprised because it was only 5 years old. He went out to get it came back promptly and installed new unit. Very happy with service and response from Choice & 5 Star. First time I used my coverage. Will recommend hassle free Choice.

I claimed an electrical service on hallway LED Ceiling light, and a technician came out, and he said it does not cover parts, fixture. I called the company, and they said it is exclusion, and I have to pay the parts on my own. In the policy, there was no list of the led light ceiling. I am NOT happy with their service, and I am moving to another Home Warranty Company. I already found that they cover all the fixtures.

I had a high end stove. Yes it was old but in nice condition. My offer was only $400 and I can’t even come close to replacing a new stove. I would have been happy with the cheap stove but 400 won’t buy even the lowest model. My policy says repair or replace. Well I didn’t get either.

I learned of Choice through an email from our company perks. I completed the "get a quote" and within seconds, I'd received 2 emails and a phone call. The next day I got another email and a call. At first, I thought it was a little aggressive, but I decided to call to get information, nonetheless. It turns out, I was able to get a better deal than with my current home warranty company. Timing was perfect as my renewal was set for next month. I'm glad I spoke to the representative. He (Ryan) did a great job explaining the Total plan and my options.

I have septic policy that has been paid for but when I had an issue with my septic tank you all did not cover any of the cost $3300.00. After speaking with one of your representatives I was told that after speaking with the technician that my septic would be covered and I should get a refund from what I paid. That was weeks ago and still haven't heard anything. The policies are deceptive cause you all really don't cover much of anything.

Our HVAC system stopped cooling the house. I called Choice Home Warranty. The technicians arrived the next day. Our system is operating normal again. Thanks for the fast response. As usual, the only expense we incurred was a $65 service call fee.

Condensate pump replacement and reconnection. I talked to two different representatives and both of them hung up on me during the conversation concerning the problems I have. They tried to convince me not to cancel my renewal contract starting from June 1 of this year. Last year I had a very unhappy experience with your company and that pushed me not to renew. But the agent, Mr. **, convinced me to renew the contract and will help me whatever it’s necessary. When the problem issue occurred, I tried to call him and left two messages and sent him an email. NO RESPONSE. I was told to contact the 24 Hour Air mechanic to repair, I haven’t heard from your company or the repair company since yesterday. At this point, I definitely decide to cancel my renewal. I have never experienced this kind of unfriendly treatment from any company. I will appreciate your prompt response.

The guy came out and fixed a wire and added Freon. He said it was fixed. It is still not heating and the ac runs constantly after it gets to the temperature. Not sure what was done, but still the same as it was.

Electrical Problem. Technician was prompt, and professional. He was able to identify the problem with ease. I would highly recommend Choice and the electrician who fixed my problem. The receptacles were not working in several areas.

Closed on house 4/22/20 with move in date June 1, 2020. Furnace would not ignite to come on to produce heat, the house was cold. Made report to Choice on Policy #**. Response was almost immediately with 'Ray's' HVAC service responding at 9AM on 5/14/20. Within 30 minutes he had the furnace running, educating me on filter changing, operation of the thermostat, all was well!

My dryer was not drying the clothes and was giving a code. I placed the call for repair on Friday afternoon and the appointment set for Monday. The repairman was on time and was able to diagnose the problem relatively quick. He was able to make the repair within about an hour. I have used the dryer 3 times since the repair and it works.

I called and a gentleman by the name of Izach got my call and gave me good service and sold me a year of protection. I think I got a good price for the protection of our household appliances that are air condition, washer and dryer, stove, dishwasher, fridge and freezer.

Poor communication with customer and not covering the cost to repair pump, leaving customer with about 60-70% of the coverage. Customer was not aware of what you call a “cap” on coverage. We pay out all that money for coverage and when we need you y’all look for excuses not to cover a repair. Can you say RIP OFF!

My heater stopped working and I was pleased at the quick response and the professional Choice Hone Warranty chose to do the work. The heating tech worked diligently to find the problem and as soon as it was approved my heater was fixed quickly and I've had no issues with it since.

I think it needs to be noted that Gary Burchfield Plumbing company was supposed to call me with a new appointment time two weeks ago and didn't. Today 5/14/20 they never showed up. If this company is representing Choice Warranty then I would not use them. I have told my friend that I have referred to you all to wait, because I'm starting to think the reviews that I was reading was right about Choice Warranty. Not a good company at all.

Toilet Tank Repair. The repair was excellent and fast. There was a 24hr turnaround from submitting the claim to actually getting an appoint, which was excellent. Once the appointment was made, I received an update and contact information. I was very pleased.

We have an under-sink instant hot water tank - the operative words being "hot water tank". Choice refused to cover the cost of replacing the leaking tank. Obviously their interpretation of "Hot water tank" in the contract does not conform to the dictionary definition. I was very puzzled and unhappy with their denial of coverage, so not only do you have to read the contract very carefully, but try and think how they could mis-interpret words to wriggle out of coverage.

I called to get the service and the first rep I talked to was supposed to call me back. No call! I call back again and spoke with some guy who was very unprofessional. I was reading to him what was on the email you guys sent me that said roof was included for free and he responded “let’s make a bet it’s not included”! I was appalled when he said that! I proceeded to forward the email and he switched me over to another rep without telling me! The guy that started my account was great! He knew about my email and then set up my account! It was seamless!! The only reason I signed up because of the price. Not sure if I will continue after the first year!!

Stove repair. First time I have needed service. First person I talked to was very helpful. Within 24 hours I received a call to set up my appointment. Before my technician arrived, I received a text showing me a picture of the home. I thought that was wonderful as I would know who it was entering my home). He explained everything about the problem with my appliance (Monday) and said he would order the parts and hoped to be able to return on Wednesday. I got a call Wednesday and he had the parts. He came that day. Fixed my appliance and was on his way shortly. Oscar was the technician. He was very nice, easy to talk with and certainly knew his craft. He was on time both times for the appointments. I would love to have him again if I am ever in need of another repair.

Claim #: ** was rejected due to non-regular wear and tear. To me that says my family of 3 adults abused the washer cycle knob which I refuse to claim. I feel the abuse came from the previous service call (Claim #: **). The technician failed to secure the washer body right front/side panels (see attached image). I tried to remedy that negligence with duct tape. After current rejection, I called to cancel my service but the situation was remedied to my satisfaction. However, I am still waiting to hear from service repair contractor for appointment.

Had some difficulty, getting the authorization, but I did get the job done on the third day. The contractor had to wait to get through the portal. The claim went through the weekend, and I had the technician on Wednesday. Slow but I had another bathroom I could use.

The plumber contacted us when he was on his way and showed up at the scheduled time. Plumber was very pleasant and repair was made satisfactorily. Jamming garbage disposal. I called to have my disposal fixed. I had to wait 7 days to get it fixed. My sink would take long for the water to drain. I couldn’t rinse the dishes. When the plumber got here he did a great job and I even asked him about some other things going on with my water heater. He gave me a few suggestion and gave me his card.

Bottom line, our compressor shorted out and was not "covered". You guys all know that every time a claim is filed, it is automatically not covered. As a matter of fact, when if you were to take as a percentage the number of claims that are approved vs the number that are denied, you would find just how dissatisfied your customers really are. We will never recommend you as a company to do business with.

On 5/12/20 I signed up for a warranty service through Choice Home Warranty under the impression that all the appliances within my home including my septic system would be 100% covered WITHOUT exclusions. However, after reading the fine print I have realized that I was misinformed by the sales representative that sold me my policy. I called today to go over what is and is not included in my policy and after being transferred several times and finally speaking with a rude representative that refused to cancel my policy after I requested 3 times I was finally able to get her to process my cancellation.
After she cancelled my account she asked if there was anything else that she could do for me and I told her that I would like to make a complaint on the Sales Representative that sold me the policy because I feel that he had lied and persuaded me to sign up for this service based on lies and false information. Before I was able to finish my sentence the representative disconnected the call. I am currently on hold after being hung up on 4 times trying to reach a supervisor. The last representative to come on the phone proceeded to inform me that I would be unable to speak with anyone above him because the person above him is the owner of the company.
As a business owner myself I am disgusted with the way I have been treated. This company was kind and eager to process my $465 payment but when I called back after reading the fine print I was shown this company's true colors. I would greatly appreciate if an actual supervisor could reach out to me regarding my complaints but after the way I have already been treated I highly doubt I will receive a response. You should ask how I like the service from Choice Home Warranty. I would not recommend your service to my worst enemy. The technician arrived as scheduled but the warranty rep would not answer his request to fix the problem. He made his assessment and sent the request to repair to CHW, he said he usually gets a reply within 10 minutes. After waiting an hour he was going to leave without fixing my problem so I asked him to fix the problem and I would pay the bill myself. I was in a bind to get this repaired and CHW left me stranded so it cost me $350.00 instead of the $65.00 copay. I think CHW owes me $285.00 because of their incompetent staff. The tech called me on Monday morning to let me know he just got approval to fix the problem, That was 14 hours later. That is not fast and speedy service. Jimmy **

Electrical and Appliances. Both CHW reps called alerting me their arrival time, came with his mask in place, went to the item and performed their assigned duty. What impressed me the most was that each tech was well experienced in knowing what to do to repair or replace an item. They each worked steady with efficiency and informing me of what was/had happened to the product as he worked. They both were pleasant and friendly. Yes, I am glad I joined the CHW family years ago. Our lights kept blinking in our dining area. I contacted Choice Home Warranty. Within three hours they contacted me to inform me that a technician from Kimble Electric would call me and the appointment was set up. The gentleman that came was knowledgeable and professional. He had to replace the dimmer switch. I have been a customer of Choice Home Warranty for many years. They have always done what they said they would do. We are very pleased with them and I have recommended Choice Home Warranty to many of my friends.

My dishwasher flooded my kitchen floor so I called Choice Home Warranty that came with house I just bought 6 months ago. They sent a tech out in about a week the tech found problem right away. Said that they probably wouldn’t be able to fix it because of the age of dishwasher. It was a ge profile and probably couldn’t get replacement part no longer made, Choice sent email offering $179.00 for dishwasher, I found contract with Choice and it said if they couldn’t fix the appliance they would replace it with a new one so declined the offer and someone was assigned to my case. She called a couple days later and asked make and model.
She then put me on hold, came back and said most they will give is $450.00. I said that won’t even cover 1/2 half the cost of a new ge profile dishwasher. She said that’s the best they can do and I said that’s not what the contract said. She said sorry that’s all they will give, I then said I will not be renewing the home warranty with Choice when it runs out. She then starts to tell me how great Choice is and what they do. I then said they didn’t do right by me so if I did get another home warranty it wouldn’t be with Choice Home Warranty and ended phone call. I will be filling a complaint with the B.B.B. (it’s just not right).

My repair claim was opened last year 12/21/2019. It has been almost 6 months cannot settled due to the case manager Lori ** lied to me about the replacement buy out price. First she did not tell the wall oven need to replace both, not just one oven but both, so she lowballed the price try to buy out. But problems it cannot buy a replacement oven, Then she offered a downgrade brand Fridgidaire saying this is the same spec as my oven but not even 1/3 of the price. She refused to match the online price. She said that is their policy. They don't match the brand. Then what do they based on?
She had a backup person to call me and her tone was rude, she said that is the final offer, I answer, "I don't accept 1/3 price." They should go by the original brand KitchenAid to offer their buy out, she said I can get a lawyer to sue them and read their legal department email address aloud. I cannot believe what I heard, they want me to sue them rather than matching my oven's brand to do a fair buy out!!
I have never experienced such hardship in dealing with stubborn and bad faith case manager Lori ** and she said, "Choice Warranty won't change case manager." Her position is solid, the company allowed her rudeness manipulating client's issue. If that was another company this case must cease long time ago and reach amicable resolution. But not with Choice Home Warranty company, they seem to make their choice by hiring Lori ** to take advantage of clients and trying to steal the most unjusted profits in buy out. I think they make false advertisement on TVs by saying if they cannot fix they will replace it.
I know there were parts still available for repair but somehow they prefer to offer a low amount to buy out, so low you can even use the money to buy 1/3 of the same appliance. I think Choice Warranty has personnel problem with incompetent people handling their claims. And they don't perform as advertised on TV commercials. It is a shame to have Lori ** there continue to cheat clients and nothing get solved. My claim for wall oven is open for almost 6 months. I will not accept unfair outcome.

THIS COMPANY IS A FRAUD! This company will not repair or replace my air conditioning unit when it clearly states in the coverage agreement that my service is included. It doesn't state in the warranty that a compressor is not included. The technician stated it was normal wear and tear and Choice still don't want to replace my unit. Attached is a copy of the warranty coverage that clearly states what is included and excluded.

We were very satisfied with the service rep that came to our home. He was professional, and very knowledgeable about the washer we needed inspected for repair. He said it was a very common issue, and all it needed was a small new rubber seal that would take an hour or less to repair and he would be back out to fix it. However we were later contacted by email and they said it was more practical to send us a check rather than repair it. We paid over $2000 for our washer and it is less than five years old, and they only offered $349 in place of repairing or replacing the machine. Not happy about that at all. We will not be renewing the service with this company.

During the night the unit located in the bedrooms area started making terrible sustained noises that disturbed our sleep. The unit on the roof makes even louder noises even with the thermostat in the off position. Our sleep came to an end with that unit malfunctioning.

Choice would not get my AC fixed. Said it was pre-existing. AC was working fine last year. When I turned it on this year it worked for one day and then stopped cooling. I believe that this company did not want to do the work. I would stay far far away from them. Better companies out there I am sure. I've been a customer of Choice Home Warranty for three years and, to be honest, have not been that impressed with their service. For as much as we pay, we don't receive much benefit. For example, we've had our dryer serviced multiple times by them. It's apparent at this point that it needs to be replaced, but the warranty company refuses to cover it.
The straw that broke the camel's back was a recent incident involving our plumbing. My mother recently had major brain surgery and has limited mobility. Over the weekend, her toilet got severely clogged — to the point that waste water was backing up into the shower. We filed a claim with the company on Saturday and were told that a technician would not be available until Wednesday. We were also told the company does not have an emergency service. My mother, who is immunocompromised, was expected to live in a house where the only toilet was unusable and full of waste for four days. Waste that was also draining into her tub. Unacceptable.
We hired our own technician after being told that we could get reimbursed for the work. It was a major repair and ended up costing $1,075. When we filed the reimbursement, we received only $125 because, as we're told, "that's what the warranty company would have paid the technician to do the work." To be clear, we didn't go out to find an especially expensive technician. We hired Roto-Rooter, the same company they would have sent out.
There's not much value in Home Choice Warranty; they nickel and dime for small repairs while ignoring and refusing to cover larger repairs to essential systems. I would have come out better simply putting the $60 a month I pay them into a separate bank account and using that for repairs. As it is, I'm still paying full price to get things fixed in my home on top of what I pay Choice Warranty. I'll be changing that this year. I'm cancelling my warranty with them after this experience.

Called in the claim in the morning. A person arrived 6 hours later. After spending about 20 to 30 minutes checking out our clothes washer he called in the claim. Today received a settlement of $299.00 to replace the washer. Great service and quick turnaround for the claim. Will use them in our new home we will be in late June 2020. Thanks again.

This is third tech sent to fix the same problem. Last tech found two leaks in the system that were missed by the first two. I was without the air for three weeks awaiting a part. This is the third claim opened for the same problem. I will reply as soon as my problem is fixed. Also I have paid $65.00 for each claim for no help.

I needed a drip pan change and a new drip line run and Choice Home Warranty denied both citing rust in the pan! All drip pans will rust in Texas in the attic as that is where the AC drip pans are located. Coolant also had to be added as the cap on the valve was off and coolant leaked from the open valve and there was no way a normal person would know that and claim was denied too. WARNING TO ALL- there are too many exclusions in the AC repairs by Choice Home Warranty which in Texas is the most used.

Called the assistance number, set up a claim and technician called us back within a few hours with an appointment for the very next day. We had electrical issue with our AC unit outside the condo. Technician Damien called and arrived early than original time frame which was awesome. Fixed the problem, did a thorough clean up inside and out. Great experience. Literally hassle free. We paid $65 for the service call and that was it. No hidden costs, no waiting to be reimbursed. This was our first claim and I was impressed.

Plumber suggested that I was unappreciative and asked me for a tip for his hard work. I gave him the required 60.00 service fee in cash, and 20 extra dollars. I told him that if he had a credit card machine I could have used that to pay the service fee, but he seemed upset that he couldn’t keep all of the money for himself.

Changing companies, I paid 2 different $45 fees and had nothing repaired. So I spent 700 to have it fixed and it ended up being our timer that was attached to our house. So I paid the $45 fee for someone that could not fix it. Their company does not do that kind of repair. As I stated the timer came with the house when we bought it and this house was built in 1977. So, that is why the technician had no idea on the timer.

On May 6, 2020, I contacted Choice Home Warranty to have my fans repaired. The service man came on schedule as promised and fixed 4 of the 6 fans by simply making adjustments and tightening screws. No parts were needed. The other two fans, which are located in the master bedroom and the master bath, both have ISSUES THAT REQUIRE REPLACEMENT. The repairman, Jeff, said he would contact the home office for approval. He called the next day and said the claim was denied from the home office and the case was closed.
The fans at issue both have the same malfunctions. When turning them on high, they at times, will drop down to low on their own. In addition, the light fixtures on the fans will come on in the middle of the night by themselves. Jeff said he was familiar with the problem, although we couldn't replicate same while he was here. As I mentioned, it happens sporadically during the night or day when the fan is on and wakes up my wife and I. He said when the remote control feature, which is in these fans, gets older, they malfunction as they are doing. My agreement with your company reads that you will repair or replace the fans as needed. I suggested that I will purchase the fans that we want at no cost to your company. We simply ask that you live up to your part of the bargain and install them!
I purchased a 5 year contract with you in 2015 for $1800 paid in advance. I've used your services a few times over the years, all to my satisfaction without exception. I've recommended your company to family and friends during that time as a result of the good relationship I've witnessed. This November, I was planning on renewing another 5 years for the same agreed upon price of $1800 plus one month free as a bonus as discussed with your agent last month. HOWEVER, in light of these recent developments, I'm not only having reservations about renewal but am considering taking action for breach of contract.
I'm requesting that you review this matter and reconsider the initial decision. Perhaps the person making the judgment call didn't have all the facts. Please feel free to contact me at your pleasure for any further needed explanation. Time is of the essence given the constant annoyance of the fan issues. This company got 6 accounts from me, when I needed a service call to replace a broken above the range microwave handle they send a check for 169 dollar - 65 dollar service fee = $104 as their replacement cost for the unit. This is how they treat their big customers. Be careful with this company. I would not recommend anybody to sign up.

When I made a claim to a faulty AC unit in my attic in May 2020 and it was discovered that a previous claim made last May (2019) by the previous owner. It was discovered the AC evaporator was not the correct one installed and there was a needed part not installed. Choice Home Warranty informed me that they would only cover for $250.00 and that was the remaining funds available on the maximum system payout per the contract term to correct an improper previous repair/installation would have a balance of $1965.00 due to the technician for the repairs. This is outrageous concerning coverage. If having to pay a remaining balance of $1965.00 is required-why have home warranty insurance. Also, the fact that Choice Home Warranty doesn’t want to make things right concerning a faulty installation speaks volumes. I would be better off budgeting for major breakdowns myself. I plan on cancelling my policy next month. Thanks for nothing.

As usual Choice found a reason to not replace something that was broken. Thank God the repairman found a way around the issue and fixed it at least temporarily. The same thing happened with my Central unit. I called them numerous times because of it not cooling and the last person told them it was the compressor. The adjuster denied it because my unit was only 10 years and it should be 12-15 for them to pay. Surprisingly they agreed to pay for a water heater EXCEPT for the new drain tubing part of the labor totaling $150.00.???

When I spoke to Neil, he assured me that if I paid immediately, I would have 30 days to cancel with a FULL refund. And, he gave me his "personal" phone number. I called once to cancel and he talked me out of cancelling when he returned my call. Since then, I have not been able to get an answer to my call even though I left a message. But, in the meantime, I read the contract which says that I will NOT get a full refund, but must pay a $50 admin fee. Plus, there were more exclusions than there were supported conditions. Very dissatisfied and considering a call to Discover Card to cancel the payment.

I attempted to file a claim for air conditioner service. The unit was blowing hot air and not cooling the home. I received an email from Choice Home Warranty that listed an incorrect address. I called Choice Home Warranty to report the issue. I spoke with 3 customer service representatives. All of them did not grasp the issue I was having and they all hung up the phone on me instead of trying to resolve the issue. I cannot describe how frustrating the entire situation has become. Choice Home Warranty will eagerly sign you up for a home warranty and charge you for it, but when it comes to fulfilling their end of the bargain, the service part, they try to avoid their responsibility and simply make you go away. I am considering cancelling my policy with Choice Home Warranty. There has to be a better alternative out there, based upon my experience.

I purchased a home warranty on my new home to help protect me from any unknown or upcoming issues. I had an expensive home inspection done by a reputable licensed inspector prior to purchase. After living in my new home for a couple of months several issues popped up. The things that I purchased a home warranty to help protect me from. You guys turned down both claims. I am on disability and affording a home warranty strains my budget. I have been a loyal Choice customer for several years at my previous home. I switched to Choice from American. Now I am questioning that decision.
The plumbing was working fine when I moved in. I have no idea what happened but I must have cold water in the kitchen. The AC unit was working fine then froze up. I thought it was due to a dirty filter and that I had fixed it but that turned out to not be the issue. The line apparently got a leak and needed repair and then recharged. Why these things weren't covered I will never understand. They were not preexisting as these things all worked when I moved in. You have failed me miserably when I needed you the most. Hence my miserable ratings for you.

I have purchased warranty from Choice Home Warranty about 3 years ago, hoping to have coverage. About 2 years ago my AC broke and they initially told me it's not covered and scheduled a technician to come check it three weeks after my initial request. Now my fridge is broken and it took them more than 2 days to send a technician who refused to even take a look at the fridge. It was emergency so I brought some other company to check my fridge which came in less than 4 hours and checked it. When I mentioned it to choice home warranty they immediately started fabricating reasons that my warranty is now void because another company has already evaluated my fridge. They have divorced support my advice to you is to keep your money and use it for repairs and do not pay it to choice home warranty.

I know with what's going on in the world it might be hard to get someone out to fix my fridge. I received an email letting me know they were having difficulty finding someone to do the service. They offered me the choice to find my own service provider and they would reimburse me, or I could continue to wait while they tried to find someone. Well I chose to wait and within a day or two I was notified that a service provider was scheduled for me. The technician was very polite. He wore a mask and shoe covers. He found out what the problem was and he didn't have the part. He told me that he was going to call a store and see if they had it in and if so he would be right back to put it on. He gave me a time frame and came back within that time frame and completed my service.

Updated on 10/06/2020: Excellent service. Came 3 days early. Got furnace working and explained why we were having a problem with ignition. We have an old furnace and replacement parts are not totally compatible with our furnace. We have to manually reset our unit to get it to ignite and heat.
Original Review: Not complete yet. Technician was excellent. Knew what to do and explained what was needed and what would be done. When complete I will complete the review. The control panel needs to be replaced so our furnace will work. Zack said everything else seemed to be working properly.

This company claims to provide a service when in reality they only take your money and provide nothing but inconvenience, dissatisfaction and frustration. It was confirmed my very old insulated ductwork needed replaced by the service provider they assigned to my claim. It states they do cover ductwork in their contract. It also states they don’t cover insulation. They stated because my old ductwork is insulated they do not cover it, however all ducts work is insulated if done properly. I am incredibly dissatisfied and wish to warn other homeowners to NEVER waste their time or money on this company. It should be well-noted they are nothing but a racket and scammers.

I did have another home warranty before this and never ran into the headaches that I have with this claim. I can NEVER speak with some directly and have to use the automated systems. First time I called they contacted a business that was outside of Wisconsin which, of course, said they could not perform the maintenance of this claim. I found out by logging into the system and see that the appointment was cancelled. They then scheduled another vendor which came out and diagnosed the problem as a cracked heat exchange which means I was in need of a new furnace. Vendor contacted them and explained the problem. Apparently I then needed to agree to the maintenance which I never got a call about.
Following day the vendor contacted me and I still have no response. I was surprised with the $870 out of pocket expense which I thought would be covered by the simple quote in my policy of 'Duct Work'. Funny how nothing ever falls under that and the customer is then charged. As of writing this I am still waiting to hear from the assigned case worker. I sure hope that my unit that went bad was a 95% efficient unit is replace with a unit that is at least the efficiency rating of 95% since you will not allow a buyout option if I wanted to get a different brand of furnace. Well that is all I have for now and hope that this is resolved soon. With all the hype on the internet about "Choice Home Warranty" I really never thought I would run into this much of headache and run around that I have to do.

Dishwasher wouldn't come on. A repair tech responded and was able to get it in a day or so. He came to the home and looked at it and then was able to get a serial number and model number to be able to get the part which turned out to be a malfunctioning switch.

CHW was very responsive to a water back up issue while over the weekend. They contacted and scheduled a contractor to fix the issue the following Monday. The contractor was timely and professional and fixed the issue. Thank you Choice.

Company sent out lied to us about our options from Choice Home Warranty, sold us a furnace saying CHW was paying $2984 or 2/3 of our cost. That was a lie. You paid them $650 for a repair they didn’t do and I paid them $1681.30 for a furnace no longer even in production. Had it inspected and new gas line needs corrected, return air sized right, access to the filter put in, and a few other things for $500 to make it right!
We are having a reputable furnace co take out this furnace we were lied to about and said CHW was helping pay for and getting a new ac and furnace installed. We will be going to court with Frog Pro Services that you sent out. CHW told me it was my problem their vendor lied to me and I paid them and I’m on my own after 11 yrs of being a customer! We will see who all is “liable”! And Frog Pro services have many bad reviews with CHW being the one who sent them. Do send bad vendors into your customers homes!! He has a long criminal record and now I don’t even feel safe in this whole situation. I also have recorded calls where they say Choice was paying $2984!

I contacted CHW for a service repair on my air conditioning condenser fan blade that broke. It was not covered under the warranty. I prevailed upon CHW for an appeal and was contacted by Lydia ** Case Mgr. who acted on my behalf and was able to get this issue resolved to my satisfaction. Lydia gave me great customer service and was genuinely interested in helping me. She truly is an asset to CWH and has earned my respect and appreciation.

Very pleased with quote given and professionalism of sales person who assisted us over the phone. We shopped several different companies before making our selection and decided to go with Choice because of reviews, pricing and professionalism of sales person. Within 3 hours a repairmen was at my door to check on my stove. He said he was going to get back when the part comes in for installation. I would recommend Choice Home Warranty to anyone. Customer service was great.

Service was scheduled promptly which was great. The Service Technician was very professional. Made a quick determination that it was not cost effective to make repairs. I was informed that the washer was going to be replaced, but replacement does not mean "replacement". I received an email with a proposed settlement that was probably 45% of the cost of a new washer. I asked for a review and that dragged on for days only to get some more that is still not for a new washer.

Basically my heater/air conditioning system is shot. When the guy did the inspection and called you guys. You basically picked out the three words he said that you didn’t cover and denied my claim. You won’t even fix the parts you do cover. Very unhappy. My husband is disabled, I’m not working because of Covid so I have no income. I’m just so distraught right now and feel like I’ve been screwed and scammed.

We've had nothing but bad experiences with this company. We went 2 weeks without a hot heater and they could have cared less. We paid more for the tankless warranty, but on more than one occasion the reps said they don't typically cover tankless, and they weren't sure why It was offered to us. The customer service is a joke, and I would not recommend this company to anyone!!!!

Julia ** was my case manager when my Air conditioner went out last Wednesday night. I has a company come out the next day and was told that My AC Coils were no good and that CHOICE would replace the coils on my unit. I was told my position would be over $1000 out of pocket and that the unit would not be as efficient as it was at the time, which already was not good since the new type of coolant is just not as good as the old. I got a quote from the company for a new unit, think I could just replace the whole unit and have CHOICE pay the amount they agreed to towards the new unit. I started shopping around and found some good deals.
The company CHOICE had sent out was not the best deal, but apparently CHOICE will not pay to anyone that is not one of their contracted companies, so I could not go with the company I wanted. The contractor was good and he was able to come down on the price a little for me, thank goodness, but I think it is really bad practice for you to not allow your customers to upgrade their repairs and pay any contractor they choose. I will not recommend your company to anyone else I know for that very reason. It is no skin off your back when you are paying that amount either way. You could have made me super happy paying the $900 to someone else. Ultimately that is all you are paying for a new AC/Heating Unit that you should not have any repairs on for the next several years.
Pretty minimal really, but Julia said you would not bend on this. I asked Julia to email me in writing how much would be paid so I can give to your contractor and he can deduct that amount from what I owe. I have emailed 3 times and talked to her twice about this and I still have not received the email? I need to pay the contractor! We talked twice regarding this and she told me how much it was, but I was driving and requested in writing so the contractor would also have a record of it. Needless to say I am extremely frustrated with the company overall and extremely frustrated with Julia as well. My request was super simple and not sure why it has not been completed as of yet.

A company was assigned the same day I requested the service and the repair technician responded in a timely manner...he was friendly..professional and very technically proficient. I called CHW because of a problem with my tenant’s microwave and dryer. CHW responded quickly. The dryer was fixed immediately and a the technician stated a part needed to be ordered for the microwave. About two days later I was informed by CHW that it would be more cost effective to replace the microwave. I accepted the offer, and a new microwave has been ordered for the tenant. According to CHW I should receive a check in the mail within 30 days. I was very satisfied with this process. Hopefully I will not need them in the foreseeable future, but it is certainly comforting knowing they are there if I need them. Thank you CHW. I would certainly recommend your company to others.
