Central air cond. Notified of delay because of Virus but soon after I was notified by email that a technician would be coming out in two days.. I like that updates are available and I understand that it is hot out and many people might be having issues at this time of the year.

I made the mistake of purchasing the home warranty for 5 years. After one of the AC units stopped working, the warranty did not cover it. After a week of back and forth emails and calls, I managed to get them to purchase the part that was needed to fix the AC but I ended up paying over 2,000 for labor. I tried to cancel my warranty but they said they would only refund me $200. I still had over 3 years of coverage worth about $1600. I kept the warranty. The AC broke again last week. I called the warranty and they sent a technician. The problem now was the panel that powers the AC. The warranty denied the claim because the warranty does not cover that panel. It is part of the AC but not covered. I had to pay the service call $45 and the new panel $150 out of my own pocket. What is it to have a warranty if it does not cover the most important parts of your home. DO NOT BUY CHOICE HOME WARRANTY!!!

Purchased policy on June 7/20, since my Old Republic policy expires on June 16, I requested new policy to be effective on same day, CHW representative did not have any objection and agreed on such date. The policy I received shows a start day of July 7. Today I made few attempts to contact Customer service with no luck. I am having second thoughts about my decision to change carrier.

I recently had to make an online claim for my A/C system over the weekend. The process was seamless with a very quick response from the repair company. They were out the next day and completed the repair the same day.

Refrigerator. I would like to see more direct communication when a service person is assigned to my job. I did not get a courtesy call when the repair person was on his way. I did not get a call telling me I was approved for the ice maker and no had scheduled a time. So if this is the norm then I may need to go elsewhere. Thank you.

I had an AC company out to service my unit and they found that I had a leak in the evaporator coils. I submitted a claim with Choice and a technician with Superior AC was sent out. He confirmed the previous diagnosis, but your company would only allow him to seal the leak. Within 6 weeks we were experiencing problems. I called Choice and Superior was sent back out. The technician found leak fix hadn’t worked and submitted diagnosis. He was made to wait longer than he could allow by Choice to get approval. He had to leave and now will have to come back to do repair. He is frustrated with Choice just as I am. He also reported that he had not been paid for the first visit yet.

The technician very unfriendly, he replace the part in the unit. The cool is working properly but he never told me that he finish and left the unit without the cover. I put the cover back on place myself. I guess we can get different company next time.

I purchased this program with a reputation of a representative assuring me that when the issues in my home occurs that I was covered under your home appliances warranty. I didn't have AC issues or any other issues at that purchase time which sounded like a good idea. Now it's time to use my investment but you guys decided to decline the contractor's diagnostic findings ... I only follow the promise you offered us (when it breaks we will fix it at no extra cost besides a Contractor's fee).

Five stars for customer service, four stars for value, three stars for coverage. Coverage got the lowest mark because it seems like the most basic issues with dryer were not covered. The issue was resolved, but we had to pay extra for a very simple solution.

Received call as soon as I purchased plan. Customer rep very friendly and explained fully and clearly other term options that would save me money. I ended up purchasing the 3-year plan. Also liked that since I was leaving another home warranty service, Choice would begin my coverage as soon as the other service ended. Very pleased with Choice so far.

A/c does not cool. Problem change the capacitor. Response to claim was fast and the company First-Class Air responded within 4 hours and came to repair within 24 hours. Excellent all around and Choice Home Warranty is fantastic. I will recommend Choice Home Warranty to my friends and family without reservation.

We have been battling Choice for over 3 weeks about repairs to 2 units in our home. It took almost 3 weeks to acknowledge that 2 units needed repair (not just one), in spite of the fact that 3 technicians sent notes indicating problems with both units. We are given a fee to pay and asked for an explanation which was given to us in general terms in our contract. No specifics. We are contemplating replacing both units and are awaiting a response from Choice to see what they will help us with financially should we choose this route.
In a recent review of your claim, our records show that we have provided you with a satisfactory resolution.

I spoke with your sales representative. Once I agree to a year contract, he looked for details for deals to lower my bill. He did find several deals that required larger amounts for multiple years discount. I appreciated the fact that once I stated I could not afford the one time payment or the two month option he did not push. He also knew to ask questions that might lead to additional discounts.

Very slow. Claim registered on April 28, 2020. First company did not show up. Called and they said could not sent another company out till they found out way they did not show. After no hearing from them for 5 days I got my own Tech to come out and find out what was wrong. The tech put all the info on they site. They keep telling him they need more info. Finally after 3 weeks they sent out another company to verify what he found. Then they sent the new company out to repair the 1 unit. They would not put R-22 in the other unit which was low. I had to get my tech out to recharge the system. $800 later the second unit was fixed, no help from CHW. I would never recommend CHW to anyone. They just keep pushing you around. Live in Arizona and during this time we had temps at 110 degrees.

I talked with the repair person and told him what the problem was and asked if he had a WiFi unit to replace the one that I have and he said that Choice wouldn’t cover it. So I had to cancel the appointment. He said that he could come by anyway and I said that if he can’t replace it why should pay for service call if he can’t replace it. I had water leaking into the refrigerator portion (the line was frozen and couldn’t drain) and freezing under the vegetable crisper drawer hitch also caused vegetables to freeze. Prosper Profession Services LLC showed up during the repair window, knew exactly what to do, was very professional and personable. He cleaned up after the repair and I was impressed with how he handled my questions. Definitely someone I would recommend!

Airtech determination was the following: 1/ Upon arrival low on charge, short 2pd refrigerant. 2/ Compressor windings is bad and overamped if charged with refrigerant. Unit will not last or work. 3/ Whole system must've replaced and cannot be fixed. Price to replace $3300.00. It should be noted that on May 21, 2020 A&C was dispatched to make repairs and they noted replaced a contactor and filled unit S.H. - 10 S.C.-15. It operated for about 1 hour and again failed to operate.. I replaced my unit. How get a refund?

Service Technician diagnosed the problem that we were out of freon and might have other issues. I had the initial installer come in and analyze after I remembered that it was still under contract. I should have contacted this person first before I called in the service order. I wasted $85 but didn't get any satisfaction. It was a sensor problem.

Toilet issue was fixed in 15 minutes. Tech was polite, courteous, knowledgeable and on time. I would definitely recommend Choice Home Warranty to friends and family. The tech actually arrived earlier than stated in the email. In comparison to other home warranty programs, I believe Choice Home Warranty is the better choice.

I paid $550 for a warranty service on June 2, and then 4 days later your company created another account and drafted another $550 payment without authorization. I called your service department, who admitted the error. They transferred me to your resolution department where I spoke to a Rohman. He stated he would cancel the second account, provide a full refund without penalty. He also stated he would send me a cancellation email for the second account that was created in error. I have not seen an email yet. I spent an hour on the phone trying to get this resolved.
Now, I feel like I will have to call back, not only to waste another hour for the company’s error but to cancel both accounts. I can’t trust a company that will take $550 from a consumer without authorization. Btw... I never received any communication on the second account created. Only the notification from my financial institution that 550 was charged. Funny how the first one came with all sorts of confirmations. This sounds like a complete scam, and will report to proper authorities if it does not get resolved this week.

Claim response to plumbing problem. I am very satisfied with the response from Choice and the technician sent out for the repair. Choice warranty saved me between 40 - 50 dollars for this repair. My only concern was that there was no question whether my claim was an emergency. Since it was not there was no problem. If it had been I would have been forced to seek other resources since there was a delay of several days between the claim as of the repair.

The warranty was all good in taking care of our garbage disposal claim, but when it came to taking care of the AC unit where the cost to fix it may have been more than the cost of the policy, they didn't care of it all and even lied on the technician to get out of paying for it. The whole purpose of us getting a warranty was to be sure that things like the AC and plumbing were covered being that we couldn't go by anything more than our inspection (which we sent in to Choice as well) and our home was 10yrs old, so we didn't know what to expect! Bad idea!!

We moved into our new home (10yrs old) 32 days ago and went with Choice at closing. 2wks into the move in, our downstairs AC went out. Choice had 2 techs come out that apparently worked on the wrong unit! Then when the 3rd tech came out and was able to determine what was actually wrong with the right unit, Choice blatantly lied about the tech's findings regarding the leak found, to determine what was wrong with the AC was not normal wear and tear and essentially decline to cover it. We were in direct contact with the tech so he called them back to see what was going on, gave us the name and ID# of who he spoke with and yet we're still, almost a month in with no AC downstairs and the heat index here is pushing 100 degrees! We are highly disappointed with our first experience with a warranty company!

This would be a great review of the technician. He advised that my heater needed to go. It's a solar heater. I need to replace that heater so I am going to go totally electric and not put a solar heater on there. It would be GREAT if Choice Warranty covered the heater for me. I am on fixed income and it's tough to have to shell out $1500.00 for a replacement. Can the heater be covered under the warranty plan that I have? I need to know asap. The company that you sent to my house was incompetent. I pretty much just gave away $60. MJ environmental told me I needed a new condenser. That would have set me back at least 2k. I got a second opinion and the new company comes out and fixes the problem in less than 30 minutes. It was as a bad part on the condenser that only cost $40. Boo to you Choice warranty sending out quacks!!!

Was very dissatisfied on how this claim has been handled, still no resolution and garbage disposer is still not working. I had to spend additional $169 Out of my pocket to have an outside electrician come and check the garbage power outlet and verify it.

Home Choice scheduled an appointment with Als, HVAC for Friday June 12, 2020, fortunately after HCW made the scheduling Als HVAC called me to set up an appointment June 5th. The technician, Carlos A. explained in detail why my system was not working or making too much noise upon startup. Previous techs added too much coolant. Now my ac is cooling the way it's suppose to be. Highly recommend Carlos from Als for his knowledge and expertise and willing to explain why something works or not. Roberto **

Washer and Microwave Repair. The action to respond was very timely, good use of technology to progress work request and keep informed the end user. However, technicians visiting really lacks customer service mind set and are very arrogant and in some cases not being helpful. CHW should invest in hiring good customer service minded companies if they want to earn my business in the future.

I turned in a claim for my ac not cooling. Choice home agreed to install inside unit, but not the outside unit. Which makes no sense... but..I'm still waiting since June 2 for choice to connect with the tech on where/when to get equipment. And yes, I've called....but I'm still.... Sitting here...waiting! So, can you get them together and get this done? I still don't understand why the outside unit is not included, since they both were installed on the same date as "new," before.

I am being fair and if the outcome becomes positive I will be more than happy to retract my post and submit something positive. The technicians that came to my door were excellent. My experience with Choice not so good. The salesperson who sold me the plan assured me that my ac unit and appliances would be covered even though they were aged. I only lived in my house 9 months when my ac stopped working. Choice denied my claim every step of the way. Saying it was not covered. I got a second opinion with the same answers as first technician. Choice said 4 hours for an outcome. It's been 2 days no outcome. I have called 4 times and been told that my claim has been escalated. Still no response. I hope this helps with my claim or stops others from purchasing with choice. I have friends whom have used Shield and has much better outcomes.

You sent Dodson family HCM to look at the Air Conditioner. They came last Sat and found that the Breaker had tripped they look at it and decided it might be ok, Well it kept tripping and it was getting hot so I turned it off and they came back out yesterday June 5, and told me that the compressor is shot. They cannot repair it. So I sent you an email to let you know. Thanks.

I have filed 5 complaints only to have them all denied with some sort of exception buried in their agreement. Which is very long. When I try to cancel they will put you on hold or drop your call. I was finally able to process a refund but they still haven’t refunded me after much longer than they promised. I had to file a complaint with the BBB. To give you an indication, every contractor they’ve called to fix my issues and the find out it’s Choice. They typically respond. They likely won’t cover it and you get what you pay for. STAY AWAY!!!

The online warranty request was so easy and the turn around time was quick. I loved the email communication on status. Additionally, Lenny, our Repair man was very considerate, wore a mask and booties. He was efficient and addressed the issue as best as possible and left instructions on how to monitor and future contact information.

Electrical issue. A service call was scheduled within 24 hours. The Technician gave me "heads up" call before he arrived - which was so helpful. He was punctual, professional and very patient, as I needed him to explain the problem more than once.

Mr. Gibbs, owner of Bluff City Appliances, was very friendly but professional. He attempted to call me several times prior to my appointment and we finally connected. He was here when he said would be. He assessed the problem very quickly, got the appropriate part from his truck, and fixed my washer. He was here less than one half hour and my washer was back in business. I'm happy.

It was a rough start at the beginning with this company, their agents are not that friendly, but I have to say that the companies they use and the coverage are pretty decent. The only reason I am giving 4 stars was due to the customer service. Don't recall the agent name right now, but she was a little rude to be in a customer service position. Overall, they do a great job in coverage and service. I will recommend it.

I have been waiting for a week as of last Monday June 1st my order to be done after being notified 3 times without no show that the technician was scheduled to come. I paid the 75.00 service fee. In waiting for my order to be filled I realized that what was previously thought that the water heater was leaking and realized that it was the air/heating unit leaking instead. I have lost all trust in your credibility and I am ready to suspend my membership and give a bad reference.

Dishwasher - The service repair person sent to us by CHW was fantastic. He located the problem right away, explained it and was told he would order the part. Said it would be in the following week. See what a matter with central heat air - I called them. They had a tech over here quickly and I was was approve in four days. I would recommend to have Choice Warranty. The tech was really nice and honest, nothing like the other tech I had. All they did was lie to me.

Was not able to get service next day. Had to stay in 85° house 4 days without air. The company Choice sent was professional in their work. Changed our motor in fan outside, recharged and got it going. Since they came out yesterday the temperature is still around 72°. Waiting for it to stabilize and cool house. They said keep checking it until tomorrow. Did not use contractors from the area.

The problem is not with the repair service companies but rather with CHW. When a repair is necessary and called in Choice always comes back and says it not covered. Which in turn calls for me to replace the item on my own. I have had this contract for five years and really call for problems. I don’t see how the warranty is benefitting me. When I add up how much I am spending a year with Choice to only be told it’s not covered.

Unable to track my claim through email response received after I submitted my claim. Message: 'Unable to locate email' or something to that effect. This is ridiculous since only 30-40 min. before, your agent recited that email to me on the phone when placing my claim...Never mind the fact that I was attempting to track the status of my order from that very email address that you sent to me. Please--I call that the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing.

She was awesome! After signing up for coverage, I was scanning reviews about you online and was very alarmed with the negative responses. I almost called back right away to cancel the policy but then I took 2 things into consideration, It was hard to say when those reviews were posted online and secondly Amy was so good with her explanations of your policy coverage I decided to give you a try.
I did read online that you used to be called Sears Home Warranty. If that is true, I am a very strong supporter of Sears and their products. Actually I had a basic home warranty coverage for years with Sears but decided to cancel it last year because I had gotten mail promotions with other home warranties that covered TOTAL home coverage. 5 stars because I can't give you 10. I am 100% impressed!! Choice Home Warranty got us a technician very quickly, and he was absolutely fantastic. I wanted to review him separately on Yelp as well but couldn't find his company, but it was Scott from Blaze Appliance Repair LLC. He had our control board sourced and replaced in less than 2 hours. Just to give you a comparison, we had the identical problem 1.5 years ago and our former home warranty company would only allow the board to be rebuilt to save costs. As a result we had no oven for 2 months over the holidays while it went to China and back. Imagine how surprised and happy I was to know it could be fixed the same day! We have not renewed yet because we are planning to move before our contract is up, but we will be using Choice Home Warranty in our new home, and we will recommend you to everyone! Thank you!

This claim was for a garage door that would not open. Like prior claims, I was again disappointed that the amount of claim covered was far less than the cost of the repair. In each of my claims, the majority of the repair or replacement cost was not covered by Choice Warranty. Often, significant portions of the broken system have been excluded by contract from coverage. In another case, the amount offered and made for replacement was far below the replacement cost of the item.

With temps of 111 I have been waiting for air conditioning. Supposedly the order has been approved. Nationwide has not in fact received that approval. It is now Friday. How long do I still have to go w/out air??! Will be cancelling my home warranty coverage. This has been a terrible experience.

I apparently failed to read the fine print on A/C unit coverage and ended up with a $500 repair. I have become used to having to settle for pennies on the dollar for replacing appliances but the central A/C is less than 2 years old and thermal valves rarely fail.

The Dryer is made by Miele and needs a Miele certified technician. We have 3 units by Miele and I was promised at the time by my Choice sweet talker salesman, Tony, that only a Miele certified technician will be sent to service my 3 Miele units. Choice contacted 2 service companies, but when I contacted them, they told outright, that they are NOT Meile certified. Well, it is now 10 days that my dryer is out of order.

I just reinstated my contract with Choice because I felt that the company honored its customers. However, my claim was disapproved for services that I feel should be covered. My father-in-law is paralyzed and can’t reach the switch to turn on the lights. The electrical device is remote and is not working. My claim was denied and I now have to pay out of pocket as well as my monthly payment to Choice.

If you haven’t allowed years to build up with them before you place an order they won’t cover anything!! It’s best to join Choice if you have a brand new house. If your house is an older home like mines. With things expected to already be old and worn when you start the service with choice. They will not cover anything at all!!! Due to the item already being old and worn out!! Which makes no sense when it’s an older home. Go somewhere else. Choice isn’t it for me and my family!! I had a WAY better outcome with Landmark. I just didn’t care for their some of their service providers. But I never experienced these issues.

The technician was very responsive. He was open to coming out sooner than originally anticipated. He checked everything out really quickly and informed me of the problem, blown out lightbulbs. Go figure! Anyways, the service was exceptional! Note: I haven't yet replaced all of the bulbs. Prayerfully, doing so will completely resolve the problem.

Not pleased with the lack of care and concern by CHW regarding my complaints about the previous company that came out to service my washer. To add insult to injury after saying I did not want that company back out, CHW sent the work order to them and they NO-SHOWED on May 29, 2020. I thought that maybe out of good faith that company might would make things right but they did not. I guess my time isn’t as valuable as others.

Superb company to deal with Home Warranty issues. I had a problem with my AC not cooling down. I filed a claim on-line and within hours got my claim assigned to a technician. I got my AC Compressor replaced in a matter of 2 days. I am an extremely happy customer who will be referring a lot to CHW. Bob ** from Anchor quickly diagnosed a shorted fan motor, drove to supplier and returned with and installed the correct replacement on one try. Very professional conduct from Choice and Anchor. I looked at several companies, I choose yours. Despite my telling you not to call because if I chose you I would call you. I answered your person's questions. He sped through the plan. I tried to interrupt because I had questions. He finished then hung up. I called back. The. Person asked who I spoke with, I didn't know, he went on to say it had better not have been???. It wasn't, he said he would connect me. He hung up. I called back, got a recording telling me everyone was on other calls and someone would call me back. It is now 2:10 pm the next day. I haven't received a call. I will be calling to cancel.

I put in a claim two weeks ago about my hot water heater leaking and needed to be replaced, CHW told me Astro Plumbing was coming out, no show, I continue to tell CHW that no one showed up, they finally said another Plumber company was coming out, another no show, email CHW concerning them and they just stop communication with me, I ask for a refund so I can get my heater replaced, no reply. I am still out of hot water and CHW still had my $1100 for a three year warranty, I would never recommend them for anything.

I was told it was a $60 charge but the guy Who came out to repair it charged me $113. Nobody has gotten back to me from Choice Warranty To figure out why I got overcharged. I have made two phone calls and they said that they would get back to me to resolve this issue.

Hello! I have contacted CHW multiple times with detailed accounts of my A/C not working. I receive more times than not, generated messages as the response. In addition, the company CHW sends out, Lynnco, HAS NOT accurately diagnosed the problem. The first time Lynnco came, they said the unit needed a new power board. When they came the second time to install the power board, they determined it was not the power board. Over a week later, Lynnco came again and said it was low voltage. CHW dispatched an electrician. The electrician said the voltage was absolutely fine and there was nothing wrong with the voltage.
After CHW made the third claim between the original AC company, followed by a electrician [the electrician refuted all the claims of the AC company], then another claim with a AC company located in another state was made, who was unavailable for an additional 9 days, placing the timing way past a month! I FINALLY was contacted by an employee of CHW who is going back to the original company (Lynnco) who has misdiagnosed the AC TWICE now, giving them one more opportunity to correct the issue. Fortunately, I will not have to pay the service fee for this call. We have a large family (7 children), and the summer months are upon us, with the AC out in 4 of those children's rooms, including an infant. It is truly uncomfortable for small children, and they are not sleeping well at night, due to having to sleep in different rooms because of the AC being out.
This is why we purchased a home warranty, so we would have a plan for the unexpected. I truly expected better customer service from both CHW and the aforementioned contracted company, Lynnco. My AC has now been out for a month, and it is still not fixed. We signed up with CHW in good faith, as we heard it was the #1 home warranty company in the nation. This has been both disappointing and disheartening, as the bottom line is, I feel I have not been heard as a customer, and there is certainly an overall dissatisfaction with my experience. I am not currently aware of any reason listed in my contract as to why my AC cannot be fixed at this time.

Dishwasher stopped midcycle two days after last use. Placed claim online and had an appointment scheduled for 3 days later but technician called later the same day and said he was on his way. The results of the service call was it was more effective to replace the dishwasher than repair it. Was made an offer but wasn't satisfied with the amount and contacted local Choice representative who worked the issue and got a more favorable result. Can not say enough good things about Christina in Huntsville and the effort she puts in to everything she does for her customers.

The technician practiced CDC protocols, was extremely courteous and professional. He temporarily fixed the fridge until the part came in and then came back and quickly replaced the old part. He had to spend a great deal of time using steam to thaw the unit before he was able to get to the sensor. He cleaned up after himself. He seemed knowledgeable. He spent all that time steaming the unit so that we could still use our fridge until the replacement part came in. Once the part came in he called to stop by to fix the problem.

The detergent tray was not draining as designed. Detergent tray would continue to stay full and even fill up with water and not circulate threw when the wash cycle was on. The first tech from (Priority Appliance) arrived as scheduled did some checks made some adjustments washed off a float put it back together said it was repaired, charged me and left. Didn't bother to run a cycle test. Thinking it was repaired we started to wash and after the first load we checked and behold the detergent tray didn't drain and now accumulated even more water.
I contacted the repair service and explained what happened and they said that they would re-send him out the next day. Day 2 and the tech arrived walked in and began to check everything again and stated that everything was fine and working and that the problem was that the detergent tray was too high and that it need to be shortened. I told him that we had no problems since we purchased it 5 years ago. So he said that he would need to cut the plastic tray supports down. I asked him are you sure you should be cutting anything on this machine and that I was not sure he should be doing that. He stated, "Oh yeah we do this and that," he has done this to other customers.
After cutting he put it all back together, my wife stepped in and told him not to leave until he ran a cycle to see if it were fixed. He waited we watched and same problem. Not draining. The tech said he didn't what to do my wife stated to him that it needs to be repaired, you were already paid. The tech said that if we were not happy that we could call another tech or another service and left. I contacted CHW and explained to them what happened and they quickly dispatched another service (Ben's Appliance). He arrived the next day, I explained to him what the problem was with the machine and with the previous tech and he looked at me in awe, stating that in his 8 years of service he had never heard of anything like that.
Ben quickly found the problem told me that he would order the parts and return when they were in. Ben returned a few days later being the weekend quickly made repairs and no more problems. The problem was the water valve's were bad and they just needed replacing. Ben was very polite and informative. I would highly recommend him.

Placed a claim for a cracked inducer housing unit in my gas heater that was found by a technician servicing the heater. I filed a claim with CHW but was denied because they said I had an outside technician do the repair work. I filed a dispute stating that the cracked inducer housing was not repaired, only found during routine maintenance on the heater. I was asking for CHW to send a technician to repair the heater. I had to call CHW to find out who my case manager was only to find out she was assigned 2 days earlier.. I called her, left a message, but my call was never returned. Still waiting for a resolution to my problem, 4 days after submitting my claim.

This was my first repair call since joining Choice. This is my second time with Choice, I originally joined and never used the service. My son had service with another company that did not have a service fee. I canceled after several months. I did not receive any type of compensation which I sort of expected. I rejoined after my other contract ended, (company no longer offered services). I had researched and discovered that Choice was highly rated. My first visit was not what I hoped it would be. It has been a warm summer and I was told someone would be out on Tuesday five days after I phoned. It was disappointing having to be without air conditioning for five days. The good news was the technician showed up a day earlier than expected without any prior notice. I overlooked that minor inconvenience because I was happy he came early. He was courteous and resolved the problem. I have no complaints.

I have was renewing a policy at ** Where my daughter lives and took out an additional policy for my personal residence. Was not told service calls had gone up, my policy for ** service call $60 and then I got email on ** and it’s $65. Have not gotten explanation. Stayed on hold 30 minutes.

I cannot tell you enough how horrible my experience with the warranty company has been! From having to wait an entire week for service then to find out at the actual appointment time that the company was not going to come because they would not deal with your company due to not being paid in a timely manner. Then had to takeoff work again! Spoke with supposedly the head of customer service and was not allowed to talk to anyone higher than him. He was not what I would consider to be customer friendly!
I think if your people would put themselves in the Customer shoes and realize that you have to takeoff work for people not to show up that of course we are going to be upset! Now my unit needs to be replaced and I will need to wait for that but I will say that the gentleman that came out was the best experience with your company I have had. He knew what he was talking about and quickly let me know that I needed a new unit. Hopefully I will get that within the next 30 days.

First let me say that Keisha ** is a terrific sales person and worked with me to insure that I got the coverage I needed, at a price that I could afford. The 5 year program, though a good sized outlay upfront, seems like a great program. After a year with American Home Shield, which was very disappointing, I'm glad that I made the switch. My primary home as well as my 2 family rental are now covered, with no worries for the next 6 years! Hopefully their service will be as good as their sales people. If not, I'll be here to update my review, but I'm feeling confident that communication is going to be far better here than it was with American Home Shield. If you're considering both companies, RUN to Choice.

The repairman was promptly sent. When he said dishwasher needs replacement, I was immediately sent a cash offer from Choice Home Warranty. Unfortunately, the amount was 179.00, only enough for delivery and installation. I called to decline this amount. I was given someone to look into claim. She didn't contact me. I called her twice. She did end up getting increased amount of 299.00. Not enough to replace a dishwasher. I'm still waiting for the check. She did say it could be 8-10 weeks. I was hoping to wait, and do review then. I would have rather had them replace the dishwasher with something comparable to what I had. It still costs me 150.00 for delivery, installation and haul away of old one, plus remaining cost of dishwasher. Maybe I misunderstood the coverage.

AC issue and repair. Got support and issue was rectified. Only got issue with contractor as he didn't show up on time. Overall I like Choice Home and definitely I will recommend to all my known friends. Technician who came is very knowledgeable and he fixed the issue within 15 minutes.

After putting in my request, the response was almost immediate!! The repair was scheduled overnight, and the repair man (Nathan) arrived the next day. He was extremely personable and helpful. The diagnosis was quick, the part was ordered, and the repair was done very quickly. EXCELLENT!!

I called in on the 20th of May with a problem with my well and it should be covered because I paid extra for this to be on my contract, I was told that I would be getting a report with whomever would be coming out to fix the problem. I received the information later on that night with the CHW Tech that would be coming out but it wouldn't be until the 26th, I tried to call the tech but had no success nor did I have any success when I tried to call CHW back because I didn't have any water at all and I needed this checked before the 26th but wasn't able to talk with anyone.
I tried everyday to get a hold of someone at CHW through phone which was a joke, I left callback number but never received any call, plus I left messages but still nothing. The tech never showed up on the 26th and wouldn't call me back, he didn't show up until the next week and then he didn't do anything to fix the problem and I haven't heard back from him since nor have I had any luck with CHW, they are not calling people back nor answering their emails so I wouldn't recommend CHW for anything!!!

Technician came out the the house and as quick as you can blink your eye the problem was diagnosis and fixed before I could even get a word out, the tech was very professional and courteous, he explained all that went wrong and gave me some tips on keeping my ac unit running smoothly. Great Job.

The tech was OK - at first didn't want to come up to the 6th floor in our condo - wanted me to take a picture of the unit description so he could tell what to bring up to service the unit. I told him I could not produce a picture and he would have to come up. He complained about the street parking etc. Finally he did come up and said the heat pump was some 15 years old and on its last leg. He put 4 pounds of freon in the unit and couldn't tell me how long it would last. My feeling is we need a new A/C unit and I would like to do that before renewing with CHW. Pleasse advise.

My AC unit is 20 years old and has a leak from the coil. A tech from Choice came out twice and finally my unit died. Choice refused to pay for replacement because of debris and wheels unbalanced. The tech did not say that at all. I tried to appeal my claim with Choice and nothing. No callback, no email, and cannot get a hold of anyone.

Hello. I started my claim on 4/23/2020. I have had the technician out to my house 3 times already and my dishwasher is still not draining. Since this problem started (over a month ago) I has used my dishwasher 4 times and have had to take dishes out and hand wash them 2 of those times. The people at Choice Warranty are very nice and helpful, I just wish some of the people they use were. Our dishwasher broke and Choice got someone out here the next day, he said it was the lock on the dishwasher and that he did not have with him, he said he would order it and be back in Two days. A month later we had still not heard from him.
I called Choice and told them and they called the place that had came out and I had to wait 24 hours for them to be able to call me back, which never happened. Choice did get someone else to come though and they were very nice and fixed it that day. The only thing I thought was wrong with what Choice said was, if we did not wait 24 hours for them to call me back, I would have to pay the 85 dollars again when another company came out. That is very unfair, it was not our fault that the first one that came out was crooked, they are the ones that use him. Now our air has gone out, and I am praying they send someone good the first time.

Buyer Beware! I had my hot water heater go out on May 25, 2020. Today is June 2, 2020 and I am still without a hot water heater. CHW sent a Technician on June 1st and was told we needed a new hot water ok fine. I was told it could take up to 3 days. Ok, no problem... Well guess what... Still no hot water heater. I have called numerous times only to get the run around. I was told the plumber's charges would be $300.00... These charges were bogus. The plumber himself said he never gave CHW that amount. I spoke with a Manager today and was told it could take another week or so due to supply of hot water heaters... HAHAHA yeah right! So, here sit today no hot water and no help from CHW. So, if you are looking for a reputable company RUN FAST!!! Don't waste your time or money!!! Back to taking cold showers...

Shower replaced. The job was not completed - Construction paper at the edge of new tiles was still exposed and was not painted over. Tiles adjacent to shower were cracked during work and were not replaced. Clean up was poor. Debris was left behind.

My heat pump slowly decreased in its ability to keep the air conditioning cool enough this spring going into summer. It had run out of enough coolant. The technician they sent was very thorough and took the time to make sure all was working right after the repair.

I do not feel this company lived up to its contract to repair or replace covered items - the first offer was lass than 50% of replacement cost - the second (and final offer) is $250 - still well short of replacement cost with the cheapest washer and installing it myself. I will not recommend this company to others considering a house warranty.

Thank you for the quick response to my request. VR Heating was outstanding. Very respectful, courteous and knowledgeable about the units and what was going on. I do have 1 issue I want to address with Choice. We had this same problem about 8 months ago. Choice's recommended solution at the time was to add refrigerant. This time, once again, the solution was to add refrigerant. There's clearly a leak. The coil needs to be replaced. You guys just hit strike 2. I will again likely be calling you guys to come out here by end of summer. If you don't replace the coil a that time I will be cancelling your service and reporting you to the BBB.

First assigned technician never called never showed. Message from CHW stated that I didn't keep the appt. I I never left the house all day. A second Technician was assigned and came out Friday, got PAID and told us the oven was not repairable. Message from CHW this morning, Tuesday, was that repairs were authorized. Company came out to determine the problem as related to the refrigerator. It was determined a new compressor was needed. Choice Warranty approved the part but the company never delivered the part. This was over a month ago. When I called Choice Warranty Saturday, May 30th, representative asked me, "Why haven’t you called earlier". She told me Choice would get back with me by today (Monday). I suppose I need to call them back. Not happy with this particular claim. I’m not a happy customer.

A nice young man came out and evaluated my refrigerator. He said it was not fixable. Choice Warranty offered me $499.99 to settle the claim. I am supposed to get a replacement. Assigning the claim was quick, but the the outside temp was about 107 degrees so I called 5 star to see if they could schedule the appt. for the following day instead of the day after. Since my mom of 83 yrs. lives with me and the house was very hot, around 95 degrees. The person I made contact with was very understanding and tried her best to up the appt. but she couldn't. What I thought was a broken garbage disposal, turned out to be a problem with the electrical outlet. A-1 Plumbing came out first and then realized that I needed an electrician. They took care of letting Choice know and later that day I already had an appointment set with an electrician. Agape Electric came out and was able to fix the problem right away. The technician was wonderful and worked out a time that was good for me. I was so happy with both companies sent to my home and would recommend them and Choice Warranty.

Stove broke, Had repair man come and look at it and they could not get the part. Repair man submitted for replacement and did a great job. Received an email stating that I was approved for replacement and authorized $449.00. A comparable replacement unit is at least $989 + Tax (wall oven 24WX30H). I declined the offer and it took me three days from that point to get in touch with someone. 1 day once a case manager was appointed, Lori was able to increase my offer to $599, I accepted as I needed to move on at this point. My oven had been broken almost two weeks. I feel like the company was just trying to reduce their exposure and move on by offering me $449 to replace a $1000+ unit at replacement cost.
The plan gets purchased at $500, the stove breaks and then it is $65 to look at It & I am offered $449, you have to figure that the repair man charged about $100 to look at it so by offering this the company walks away without losing any money and just comes up with whatever excuse they feel like to justify it. I basically purchased an insurance policy and the company did not want to follow through with their end of the deal, they just want to mitigate their risk and move on. I was also told the slow customer service was due to COVID because they are working from home. Choice must have most of their staff laid off if that is the excuse because you can answer a telephone from home just as well as you can from an office. One day I sat on hold for 30 minutes only to have the call dropped around 32 min.

The service agent which checked the unit explained that the unit should be changed. The report from Choice indicated that they want the servicing company to change coil and some minor parts which most of the cost (over $1,000) of service will have to be paid by me. The unit is bad (based on your service agency) and should be replaced, now it seems like, due to the cost of changing the unit, you are trying to do a temporary fix and transfer most of the cost to your client (me)! The first plumber Choice Warranty sent didn't have the equipment to unclog the drain and would have charged me $138.00 more. I called Choice Warranty and they said they would not pay the extra charge. Choice told me they would call me back when they found another plumber. I waited 2 more days and Choice did not call me back, so I called them. They sent a different plumber 2 days later. I was very satisfied with the second plumber- Lenny Ds Plumbing & Drain Cleaning. The technicians worked very hard to fix the problem. They tried repeatedly to find source of problem. They did stop the leak and resolved some other issues. However, they said it might be a temporary fix. So, we shall see. I was pleased with their effort. Time will tell as to whether it is really fixed. Very disappointed! Only way to connect CHW is by email, but received fast response. First company assigned to me had a D- BBB rating with over 5,000 complaints, I refused them. Second company assigned that came not much better, first tech could not figure out what failed & in fact may have caused additional damage. Always on phone with someone. He left & company emailed a senior tech would come the next day to confirm problem. This tech was at the wrong breaker box, claimed air handler was in garage in his report. Both wrong as he was at wrong breaker box & air handler as we have two units. He was however checking correct outside ac unit. When he left he left door open to breaker box in garage (correct box was outside on same wall as ac unit). Panel cover to ac unit leaning against ac unit & all screens missing. Did not replace covers on two boxes where wires came into from breaker box.
Bottom line CHW seems to deal only with unqualified companies needing work from my experience. Claim was denied saying unit shorted out & that is not normal wear. I have called twice leaving a call back number that was 4 days ago. Still no call. A second call I was on hold for 35 minutes & at 4:59 the call disconnected! It is now 4 nights without ac here in Florida & I have had to schedule on my own a company whom I know to be qualified at my expense to come on Tuesday, 6 days after failure. The only positive thing I can say is when I appealed by email I was assigned a case manager who did call me. However, all I was told is to email tech’s report in & it would be reviewed. The unit failed in the middle of the night. I have insurance for that reason. Seems CHW looks for any excuse to get out of not paying. I can not recommend CHW based on my experience!

The salesman was nice and the coverage of the insurance of the appliance coverage and if a stove or any other appliance can’t be fixed it will be replaced with a new one. Plus the salesman is polite and answer all questions.

I had to contact Choice Home Warranty about a appointment that I was to have on May 22, 2020 but they never showed up. I contact home choice warranty and always responded every time. The lady from choice went a step further and called me on 05.30.2020 to ensure me of my appointment AND I WAS THANKFUL???? FOR HER CALL SO THANK YOU TO THE REP. You were awesome. They showed up????

Air conditioning repair - Their outside Service Tech responded within hours and closely examined the unit. They took pictures and submitted them to Choice. Upon inspection they authorized a replacement for the unit. No haggling, no excuses. Best thing I ever did was paying for this service!

I have a claim. The technician has not provided any report even when asked. I have no AC at my home for more than 2 weeks and the response from case manager is very poor. I had to call many times to understand the resolution. I was asked to do maintenance and not sure why they stopped ac. When asked they say maintenance is not covered. Technician tells me something. CHW tells me different thing. It takes weeks for a person to come and check the home. Thanks.

Lane Plumbing fixed my leaking toilet. They had to order a new part for my 'low profile' toilet. The whole project took 5 days, that included just 3 work days. Good job, well done, easy to work with company. Choice Home Warranty was easy to work with too. Communication via e-mail kept me posted as to the status of the work, the approval of parts required and the scheduling of the required work. You dispatched an ac tech to check my system. With very little information you concluded that I had not properly serviced and maintained my system although last year you had a tech come service my ac with freon and a coil cleaning and determined the system was just fine. The system is 26 years old and needs repair due to normal wear and tear, not poor maintenance. Choice should repair it.

I had to get my own plumber and paid cash. All I received were excuses from CHW. Will not recommend nor use your company again. I am cancelling my contract. I don't understand how to have the company that I had do the work to send in the info of what they fixed.

My fridge broke down on Saturday. The repair person wasn’t scheduled until Tuesday. This process doesn’t work for me. My food spoiled. I didn’t get reimbursed for my food .. I can’t schedule covered items failure but you can schedule immediate service. Fix this process.
