    First appointment was fine. Found a problem and ordered parts to be delivered to us. We confirmed receipt of parts and GE scheduled the next visit. The tech missed the visit because he had not realized it was labeled "LONG CALL" and it was getting late and he would not be able to access GE's cloud diagnostics after a certain so he said GE would let me know a new day and time.

    In the call I asked for Friday the 15th preferably around 1030am. I received confirming email but it did not reference the new appointment date. I had to call and have the agent do a screen cap of her screen and email it to me to verify that the appointment was in fact set up. The tech showed up on time and was very professional. He replaced the control panel the wiring harness and user panel. They had shipped him a bad user panel so he put ther old one in. It appeared to work. I have not run the dishwasher since then yet. But your system did not know that there was a new visit scheduled for the 16th. I guess it's fed by the data from GE. So, we'll see what happens. I do not have faith in GE Service. Maybe next time you send MASCO. They fixed it last time.

    We were disappointed that our A/C repair, during high temperatures here, was schedule Three days out. As Senior Citizens, with no place else to go, I called multiple times to see if a cancellation or change could be made. Nothing. My wife, having breathing problems, suffered the worse. We even called A & C, the scheduled contractor and left a message with no response. I DO understand it's a busy time but thought Some courtesy would be provided; negative. Once the contractor, Joe, arrived, he was efficient, found the problem immediately (capacitor) and got us up and running. We bought a long-term contract with Choice and was Not Impressed with this timeline.

    Every time I need any work completed by them, it takes longer than the 24-48 hours they say to get the work contracted out. I live in Arizona and on 8/8/25, my AC went out. It took them until 8/15/25 to contract a company to do the work. That is 7 days! Also, on the day of the appointment, the company calls to tell me that they are based in Nevada and that they usually only come into AZ as far as Bullhead City. (Which is several hundred miles / many hours from me.) However, they will make an exception for me, but not until 8/18/25! Another 3 days without AC in Arizona desert heat! If you try to call Choice Home Warranty, you never speak to anyone that speak clear, understandable English!! All they'll do is offer to get yet another company to come out and that it will take even longer!

    CHW does everything possible not to cover a claim. My AC stopped working. I don't know what their tech told CHW, but CHW did not accept the diagnosis. After almost 2 weeks, they finally let me have it repaired with my own guy, but they only paid their rate which was 1/3 of what it cost me. Then I had another claim for a different unit. Their Tech (different guy), also lack of experience, said the whole system needed to be replaced (condenser broke, so air handler also needs to be replaced). Seems he also told them the reason was it was clogged and not well maintained. They denied the claim.

    I had my guy come, and turns out it was not the whole unit, just the fan motor which was 25 years old. Died from regular wear and tear! They still denied the claim, even after I sent them confirmation that I had it serviced within the past year and explanation from my tech. This whole process also took several weeks. I finally had my guy change the motor and it works fine now. Do not waste your money on this company.

    Choice Warranty dismissed my claim based on what Tebid said because Tebid didn't want to do the work. Tebid plumbing charged me $75 for a plumbing job that they didn't even start. I had already paid the service request fee. I should not have been charged $75 and Tebid said they would complete the job in 2 days. Then Tebid calls me from their vehicle outside my house 19 minutes later and said the claim was denied. Then bring me back my $75 you thief. Now I have to get the state authorities involved. Avoid this company, he was still in the bed when I called to confirm during my appointment scheduled time.

    I was really worried that it was something major wrong with my heat furnace, but it was something small. He said that he couldn't locate the hole because it was small and I said how could some small cause a lot of water. Anyway he said I low in refrigerant and I should be good until next yr. I just wonder what about the hole and how would I tackle stuff like this before it become major again. I don't want to deal with being hot for almost 2 weeks again.     The tech was great - his diagnosis of the dryer seems to be wrong though. While we tested it after he left the dryer cut off before fully drying the clothes. The dampness sensor or something else seems wrong with it. While the dryer starts right shows heat and pain it just shuts off before fully drying.

    As a contractor who has worked with Choice Home Warranty, I can honestly say they are the worst company to deal with. They’ll agree on an amount for a job, and when it comes time to pay, they send a much lower amount than what was agreed upon. It’s incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. If you’re a homeowner considering Choice, be aware—they will always try to replace your equipment with the cheapest and worst brands on the market. Their focus is on cutting corners, not providing quality service. From my experience, neither contractors nor customers get treated fairly.

    This was the worst experience. My AC went out on 7/24 and after waiting on a technician to come, I found one to come within an hour. There was to be a follow up repair and tried Choice Home Warranty again and it took them 4 days to get a technician in and after he submitted the diagnosis, they reassigned to another tech. So after over a week, could not find another to come in. I asked for a reimbursement and they offered but had to go thru their portal for authorization before proceeding.     My A/C went out (blew hot air) as of Wednesday, August 13, 2025. I woke up to a “hotter than normal” house (I keep it on ~78*F and the thermostat read 81*), and the fan was running/blowing. I entered a claim that day on the Choice Home Warranty website. At 10:10, The same day, I received a reply stating ’On Point Heating and Air’ would service my AC on Monday, August 18, 2025 between 0700-1100. That’s FIVE DAYS WITHOUT AC!!! Wednesday night, the temperature in the house soared to over 87*! To my surprise, I received a call on Friday, 8/15/25 from the technician Michael asking if it were ok if he come today…Uhhh, heck yeah!!! Michael explained that he was in Corsicana and would come straight here, which was NO PROBLEM!

    As soon as Michael arrived, he looked at my thermostat, turned the fan on and then went to work on my AC unit. Within minutes, my AC unit was blowing cool air, turned cold air!!!! I’m SO VERY THANKFUL FOR MICHAEL AND THE FACT HE CAME FRIDAY AS OPPOSED TO MONDAY!! I don’t know what I would’ve done had he not come the day he did (probably been out money for a hotel for me and my son)!! Michael was prompt, thorough, professional and polite!! I thoroughly recommend him AND the company he works for: On Point HVAC DFW!!! I’ll DEFINITELY use them again!

    Not very pleased with the experience we have been experiencing. The last one was replacing the garbage disposal and the technician installed it wrong. The dishwasher doesn't drain into the bottom of the disposal, it drains into the sink through the aerator vent. Also, the claim for our refrigerator took several visits from technician, 2 different claims. Then it took 4 months to get money to replace it. Then it wasn't enough to even buy half a refrigerator.

    My microwave was locked. Claim was filed on July 30th. First technician came on Aug 6, could not fix it saying that part is not available. Second one was set to come on to come on 8th. He did not show up and when called said he do not work for the insurance company. So, third one was sent on Aug 14 who fixed it. We certainly appreciate the work done by Spin Cycle who managed to repair the latch and make it work. Choice was quick enough to set him up.

    I have had Choice for a few years now. I have made 5 claims with them and all 5 have been denied in the beginning with various reasons for the denials. Out of the 5, only one was repaired. I live in a rural area and they never have anyone in my area so I have to find a service person willing to jump through all their hoops and accept their payments, which is impossible to find. They deny every claim and you have fight with them. I have a two-year-old refrigerator that the ice maker stopped working and they sent a repair person and he determined that the wiring was broken in the door to the ice maker and Choice refused to pay, stating it was abuse of the unit. Really, opening and closing the door is abuse.

    This is the worse company to deal with. You call and get to talk to someone that just reads exactly what is on you account page and offers no additional assistance making a decision or ability to change their minds. I changed from Home Shield and will be going back as soon as my contract is done. They had much better customer service and complied with contract agreements.

    There is no value in a Choice home warranty. I received a claim denial for a dish washer saying the damage was from a "catastrophic event". Once I should documentation saying the damage was from wear and tear they changed the denial to they don't cover that part anyway and the best they could do was a few dollars for the part they did cover. I have filed 3 separate legitimate claims on different properties and they always find a reason not to cover anything.     I deeply regret signing up with Choice Home Warranty. Every single time I filed a claim, it was denied—regardless of the issue or coverage.     As much as I don't like writing these sorts of things, I have found Choice Home Warranty's service and value to be of no value to me, based on my only two claims. One of my claims was a real emergency yet the response time took nearly two days to simply hear from a live person about setting up a diagnosis. In order to prevent sewage from backing up into my house I had to act and as a result, incurred $3700 of out of pocket expense. I was hoping Choice might help with this but it was denied outright. I would have thought it at least was worthy of some consideration or escalation given the situation.

    More recently my AC went out in 90*+ heat. As of mid-afternoon the day following when I made the claim, the only response received was yet another automated sorry for the delay emails. Once again, very sluggish response time and of no help. Funny thing is there were such great reviews regarding service and value before I bought the policy but my experience has been that I have not received any value whatsoever. I am considering cancelling my policy and have left messages and my phone number for a call back, as I was instructed to do by customer service, but has not yet happened. And so it goes....

From July 27 to August 8, the contractor repeatedly missed appointments, failed to obtain the correct part, and communicated poorly. Despite diagnosing the issue and claim approval on July 28, they delayed repairs for over two weeks during extreme Houston heat, forcing me and my child to vacate our home. They continued using a vendor known for shipping incorrect parts, refused to expedite from a reliable source unless Choice approved a higher cost (which was denied), and ultimately arrived unannounced on August 8 without prior approval—requiring me to pay $250 out-of-pocket.

    Issues include: Multiple no-shows without notice. Use of unreliable vendors despite repeated errors. Refusal to approve a $400 part despite company profitability and my 10-year loyalty. Unsafe living conditions and incurred expenses totaling $634.47. I demand reimbursement for the $250 part, review/removal of Advanced Air Solutions from your network, and details on reimbursing my expenses. Absent prompt resolution, I will escalate to regulatory and consumer protection agencies.

    The technicians from both Ruby’s Air and Bright HVAC you recommended seem to be great choices to come out and diagnose the problems with customer units, give each 4 Stars. However, This will be the second claim that Choice Home Warranty has denied in the past month regarding my AC unit. CHW receives 1 Star. What is the benefit of a home warranty with CHW when I have already paid for two service fees, and my unit has not received any repairs? I am incurring expenses, including monthly payments to CHW and service fees to the companies they dispatch. I am ultimately responsible for the cost of my own repairs. Kindly, make it comprehensible to me? When the technician on the scene informed me e.g. that the motor was the root cause of my system failure (Covered Part), I paid nearly $700 out of pocket.

    CHW seen to intentionally pursued after parts that's excluded under the contract in order to deny my claim that seems a associated with covered parts, falsely claiming the all your excluded parts damaging the covered parts. This is a clever practice/tactic to deny repairing your units or whatever listed appliances under your home warranty. Listen at first when I signed up with CHW they were # 1 in book, but more like a bait and switch or perhaps a systems to track the payout of claims to ensure they keep you under a certain CAP each year.

    Choice Home Warranty is hard to describe. You have some good results and some bad. First problem I ran into I had an electrical problem. That they say in the warranty, they cover your electrical system. But they didn’t wanna cover to find where the electrical problem was. I had to argue with the case manager to get her to cover an electrician to find the problem. Second issue I had was replacement of a water heater. They were going to replace the water heater and pay the plumber‘s fee to install it. But they allowed the plumber to charge For other things that I didn’t need. The cost of the incidental was $1375. I bought my own water heater and had a person install it for 1000 bucks. I bought my house in 2020. 134 months later the air conditioner went out. The technician that looked at it said that it was missing a part and because of that Choice Home warranty wouldn’t cover it. That one I could understand to a point. So take it as it is.

    They did replace a ceiling fan that went out. And they allowed me to pick the kind of fan that I wanted to replace it with. That was one good thing. Right now I have a sink faucet that has broke. But I can’t request what kind of faucet to replace it with. I did have a bathroom sink faucet that had a problem. The technician that came out and found a clog unclogged it and did a great job. With the water heater problem I contacted a case manager and talk to her after six days. Told her what the problem was with their Plumbers they hired. Was supposed to contact me later after talking to the plumber. Never heard from her again. There’s gotta be a better home warranty service out there. Maybe not.

    I am sorry this warranty company is a scam. I have a $1000 appliance that stopped working. It took three weeks for a service person, handpicked by CHW, show up. I tried to get CHW to find another service person multiple times, but they would not change the appointment. The service person showed up and determined two parts were needed. It took three weeks for the parts to come in. Then, it took another two weeks for the service person to return and put in the parts. Yup, that did not fix the appliance. One week later, CHW notified us that they would not fix the appliance, but would cut us a check to buy a new one. Well, they gave us under $350.

    I contacted the manufacturer, and asked them for a quotation for replacement of like kind. That would be $1,250 retail. I have read the policy many times, and it does not guarantee replacement cost. Instead, they offer "their cost" for an appliance with similar specs. $350 is all! I asked them to please tell me where they could buy a similar appliance for that amount. They could not give me an answer. I tried to push this up the chain, but there is no leadership chain. Just dead ends. There is no way to negotiate or justify for a different amount. They said we could decline the settlement, which means just not take the check, and they would close the claim.

    Oh, they also will not pay for delivery or installation of a replacement appliance. That is in the policy. I would absolutely avoid CHW. We have tried twice to get them to pay for broken appliances, and both times we received less than 25% of the cost of getting and installing a new one of like kind. We used to have American Home Shield. While they were also a bit tight with the reimbursements, they were significantly more reasonable. AHS was also significantly better at getting a prompt service visit and response.

    It feels like it has been non-stop harassment with the phone calls from Choice Home Warranty to get me on the phone to sign me up for the service. The reps call from various numbers that always come up as spam on my phone. Even when I look up the number online to see where it is coming from, it says it is a robot telemarketer. The person I spoke to was VERY pushy in getting my service, and was annoyed that I did not immediately commit and provide my debit card number. His answers were generic. Was he even trained?     I purchased a 3 year home warranty including pool from Choice Home Warranty. June 2nd 2025 I filed a claim that my pool motor and pump worn out and it is not working. They took two weeks to send someone to assess the damage and I paid $85 deductible. Next day warranty company terminated the pool tech and started looking for someone else. After a few days they sent someone else to assess and he never submitted paper work, I wonder it was purposeful or not. In the meantime my pool turned green. I took the option to hire someone else on my own as they allowed. Choice home made me pay for it again.

    Pool tech submitted all necessary documents and they refused the claim stating that it's not normal wear and tear which is just a lame excuse to deny the claim while pool they identified that the issue rose from a normal wear and tear. I appealed and they just simply said that they will simply pay $300 in thirty days when I spent $800 to fix the Pool pump. Would you buy their warranty? I guess not. It is a scam. They will find an excuse not to meet their obligation and make your experience horrible. It took over a month to deal with one claim.

    Long story short. I sent in an online request for A/C repair on Sunday, August 3rd. Got a quick reply acknowledging my request and that I would be informed when a company was available. Well, Monday rolled around, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and finally Friday, the day I decided to go up into the attic and see what I could determine. With the help of the internet, I diagnosed the problem and fixed it myself in the sweltering heat. However, companies like Choice Home Warranty should maybe offer an incentive ($) to the repair companies to take their clients more quickly since we are paying a monthly/yearly fee for service. Plus a deductible.

    I did get notice on Saturday that a company had accepted the job, but it would be six more days of waiting before they could come to my home. That would be a total of twelve days without air conditioning in the heat of the summer. I'm glad I took it upon myself to diagnose and fix the issue. No cost to CHW, just me. So, there it is.

    When you get Sebastian the Manager, he will give you extension ** and tell you he is a manager and when you go to follow up with him it goes right to a recording without ringing that says voicemail here has been disabled. He is even on line attached to the phone number that says he runs this scam. The claims dep't told me that's a sales extension. Because of this claims got involved and expedited my claim and it ultimately helped me get what I want. But once I am reimbursed because they can never find contractors, I will cancel so Fake A++ Sebastian doesn't get his commission. Run! First Home way better and for appliances, Asurion!

    I purchased a Choice Home Warranty policy to protect my home systems, but my recent experience has been extremely disappointing. When my pool pump failed, Choice sent a technician who simply turned the breaker and pump on and off, then claimed the impeller was “warped from running dry.” No disassembly, no testing, no actual inspection. The claim was denied on that basis. I later discovered the contractor was not licensed in the State of Arizona to repair pool equipment, which violates state law. I raised this in my appeal, but Choice dismissed it entirely, saying it was “my word against theirs” and refusing to verify licensing. This isn’t just poor customer service — it’s a breach of trust and possibly the law.     • Claims can be denied without a thorough investigation.
    • Contractors may not be properly licensed.

    • The appeals process is dismissive and unhelpful.

    I strongly recommend doing your research before signing a contract with them. Low monthly premiums aren’t worth the frustration and lack of coverage when you actually need it.

    My AC stopped cooling. Choice arranged for a tech to come to evaluate the problem. Even after I told them to bring a ladder because the unit is located on the roof they didn't have a ladder. I was still charged $100 even though nothing was done. This happened 2 more times when Choice scheduled 2 more techs. Finally, after calling Choice multiple times explaining their techs didn't do anything I insisted on calling my own tech who came and diagnosed the problem after going up on the roof using their ladder.

    A rusted drier had depleted all the R410a freon and needed replacing and a system charging of freon. I explained to Choice the issue and they told me they'd pay the invoice. They didn't. After multiple emails and phone calls they did nothing. I cancelled the remaining of the contract. Word of advice...DO NOT use Choice Home Warranty. They will rip you off. CAVEAT EMPTOR.

    Do not purchase, they are quick to sell you a policy but their claims department takes forever to respond! I had Choice for about 5 years in my last home and I would at least get my money back most years, so I did a 5-year contract on my new townhome with a $45 service fee. Every time we call them about the AC, they take almost 2 days to send a technician. I live in Phoenix, AZ, where temperatures have been 117 degrees, even a few hours without AC is horrible. I have to end up calling MY ac guy to come out and fix it, which is also one of their vendors but doesn't like to work for Choice anymore because he says they don't pay a fair rate.

    Daniella, the claims agent, has not responded to over 10 calls and emails in 10 days. Emails from their portal are submitted, and calls go directly to an answering service and they don't call back. And now, they are asking for $75 service fee, which I think is against the law to charge me since I have a set contract, my attorney will look into it. Still sitting here without AC, waiting for a call from the claims department! Luckily, my AC guy is coming soon, and I will submit the invoice to Choice, which they probably won't pay either! Will NOT renew my contract and hopefully I can get my money back.

    For the past two years I have wondered if I did the right thing in getting a home warranty from CHW…. NOW I know I did. My water heater began leaking and when I filed a claim online, I was anticipating a big runaround. Nothing could be further from the truth. I was contacted by a CHW approved plumber WITHIN TEN MINUTES! He just happened to be at the Walmart 3/4 mile from my house and showed up for an inspection in less than 15minutes. He was very thorough with the inspection and told me what to expect next; that CHW would contact me. They did, and within 30 minutes. A follow up email detailed my responsibility to cover any material expenses related to the free replacement of the water heater itself.     I signed up for Choice Home Warranty expecting honest coverage and peace of mind. Instead, I got false promises, blatant claim denials, and zero logic. Claim #1: Our water heater started making loud noises. We paid the $75 service fee, and their own technician concluded it needed to be replaced (~$2,000 cost). CHW offered only $300, claiming “lack of maintenance.” We provided proof of maintenance just 4 months earlier — they ignored it and gave us a “take it or leave it” ultimatum. Denying a claim their own tech confirmed is a textbook bad-faith refusal. Claim #2: A few months later, the water heater completely failed. Another $75 fee. Tech confirmed replacement was needed. CHW denied the claim, saying we didn’t do the “previous repair” from Claim #1 — a repair they never paid for.

    We are now out $150 in service fees, have no working water heater, and have experienced what feels like a deliberate pattern of fraudulent denial tactics. Important: This is not just my opinion. In 2019, the Arizona Attorney General filed a Consumer Fraud lawsuit against Choice Home Warranty for allegedly making false promises, collecting millions from consumers, and then using contract loopholes and bad-faith refusals to avoid paying valid claims (case details here). Bottom line: Choice Home Warranty blatantly denies valid claims even when their own facts say otherwise. The fraud allegations from the Arizona Attorney General speak volumes. Avoid this company at all costs.

    SCAM! I have been with Choice Home Warranty and My Refrigerator temp began fluctuating temps. They sent a Whirlpool company out 5 times and was unable to fix or even diagnose. They finally after 2.5 months sent another Company. That Company did not tell us what the problem was, but there is a part that will fix it. Choice Home Warranty denied claim. They said it was the compressor. They will not cover it because the compressor would have been going out without us even knowing prior to the beginning of Coverage. This problem with refrigerator started 6 weeks after paying for coverage. So you can sign up for coverage and then if they think it may have been going out and even if there was no symptoms.     Choice Home Warranty has not met my expectations. They don't return call or emails. I have a open claim since June 15 to get my oven repaired. They chose Flamingo service which is by far the worse. They have cancelled 3 times and it has been 2 months and my oven is still not repaired. I asked for a new oven since it has been 2 months but they won't comply.     Disappointed with Choice Home Warranty – First Claim Denied. I signed up for Choice Home Warranty with a start date of July 25, 2025. On July 27, my pool filter housing cracked, causing a leak. I filed a claim that same day. They denied it, claiming it was a “preexisting condition.” This is not true — no leak existed before July 27. Customers should know that the “preexisting condition” clause can be used to deny legitimate claims quickly.
