Run away as fast as you can from this company. Our water heater broke as of Friday, August, 22, 2025. They could not find a tech in our area quick enough so they offered the re-imbursement option which I took since my husband works for an HVAC company. The service tech came out and declared that the pilot no longer worked and recommended that the water heater be replaced, not only because of the age but because of the damage to the water heater. He uploaded 17 pictures to the Home Warranty company along with an explanation. We spent all weekend with no hot water in a household of 7. I literally just got off the phone with a case manager and they want to only re-imburse us $100 because the company does not give breakdowns of cost. They charge by flat rate. The cost to replace the water heater is $1,495.00 and that is with a discount.
When I asked to speak to a supervisor, she refused and said that she is the highest up agent that I would be able to speak to and that the supervisors do not speak to customers. I would rate this company a negative 10 if I could. Now we are paying out of pocket for a water heater that should have been covered by the home warranty. I told her to send me the $100 and I will be cancelling my policy. Absolutely disgusting!

The long wait times for repairs to be done! That is if they have a contractor that will do the repairs in your area. A plumbing issue took over a month to get it repaired, and the problem was not fixed. So, they wanted me to pay for the deductible for the same issue.

I submitted a claim for a garbage disposal unit that suddenly died and was leaking. CHOICE Home Warranty sent an immediate reply to my claim. The service technician showed up on time and replaced the unit in less than one hour. This was great home warranty service!

Though both technicians have been very pleasant neither has fixed my HVAC problem. I’ve paid $200 so far for them to tell me someone else needs to take care of the problem. It’s been 5 days since my second claim and I still haven’t heard anything from Choice as to a remedy. I can’t refer to friends until it is fixed.

Buyer beware. 2 claims both denied. When you call in they always have to call you back. When you do get someone they do not understand the problem. They use an AI to take claims. They sent a tech to diagnose my washer that is 2 years and one week old and he reported back that it was old and that it needed an electrical fix and it had a cracked lid frame. They refuse to pay for my air conditioner. I sat without air conditioner for six days because they would not allow my vendor to fix it and they were not prompt on getting back to me so finally I just went ahead and paid the whole amount myself.
They find every excuse in the book to not pay you for a claim and they never say upfront that you have to use their vendor. So I have my air conditioning cleaned and I paid $100 for that and then they wanted another 75 to have the vendor of their choice come out and reverify what my guy had already said that my AC could no longer be filled with freon. Then they deny the claim if you try to use your own vendor. I would never recommend this company to anyone. I have a heart condition and this took a huge toll on me not having air conditioner for so many days because they would not get back to me. They would not cooperate. They sent vendors out to look at my washing machine that could not communicate with me. Never again will I buy a home warranty from anyone. I used to have Sears and they were really good

Our garage spring broke on Saturday night and we called the service department and they can't help us until Thursday. Today is Monday and there NO WAY to open the garage. My husband and neighbor tried to open it just to get our cars out but couldn't. I called the service department this morning to see if anything can be done sooner and the gentleman said, "SORRY WE CAN NOT DO ANYTHING!!!!" Choice home warranty is rated 9.8 stars. This kind of service is rated at zero. I will for sure be putting a review on Google and Yelp about what disgusting service you guys give your customers!!!!

They were professional and courteous. They showed up on time and repaired the broken latch of the microwave in a timely manner. Since I had a tenant, I asked them to call me after the job was done. They called me and confirmed that the repair was completed.

At first, I thought Choice Home Warranty was awesome to get the seller to include with my home. Time has proven that I was, in fact, wrong. They deny every claim, even when it falls within my Choice Plus contract. When they deny the claim, I can't even talk with someone who clearly speaks English and knows anything from the contract excluding "that's not covered" even when I quoting directly from my contract while reading it.

I paid $200.00 out of pocket for repairs to my refrigerator in June 2025 and yesterday it had the exact same problem. I filed my new claim and had to pay a service fee again...for the exact same problem that should have been fixed the 1st time. I have also had the exact same burner replaced on my cooktop for the exact same problem several times. Each time with a service fee! If something cannot be reliably fixed then shouldn't it be replaced or at least don't charge additional service fees for the exact same problems.

Zero rating is not available. If in the normal course of using an air conditioning system, a problem occurs, such as a part failing and letting a contaminant in, how is it not covered? The problem was not caused by negligence, since it is not a part that is subject to monthly/yearly maintenance requirements. Nor was it caused by abuse or misconduct by the user. Every part of every machine has the ability to fail at some point. It wasn't caused by non-use, because the a/c is used very often and constantly in the summer in the south.
While talking to the service technician, he in no way suggested that there was anything that I could have done differently to prevent this from happening. So, to my mind, this IS something that is caused by normal wear and tear on the system... and as such, should be covered. I am disappointed with Choice Home Warranty because your company seems to always want to find a loophole so you can deny a claim. There are so many subsections that you can refer to, I think your first reaction is to say "how can we deny this claim" rather than, "this is a loyal, paying, multi-property policy owning client, and we should pay his claim, as we advertise."

The first visit found that I had some faulty and had to be ordered … So, there was a few weeks wait but he finally got here around 3 and it was quite a difficult install …. It’s a gas range and couldn’t be pulled out very far …. not a huge kitchen …. Finished around 5:30 and had another appointment!!!! Very nice guy!!!! Thank you.

The repairman showed up a little late but it was due to heavy traffic. He was very polite and he saw the problem with my microwave and he had the needed part in his company van. He retrieved the part and repaired the microwave oven very quickly. He was also very polite.

The customer service and the execution of the water heater replacement were quite fast. The only thing outside of what was planned is that instead of paying the $75 fee, I ended up paying $295 for other uncovered expenses, which I was not expecting..

The second tech scheduled came out when he said and did well. As for CHW, I hope I never have to deal with y’all again. Terrible experience from the moment my claim was received by y'all. It was completely worthless to have y'all. Your reps and “policies” were crap during this claim. Pat wasn’t bad as the manager, but the reps were not helpful. The first one lied to me and didn’t explain well and the second one was very rude and didn’t know head from rear end on how to give good customer service. No deescalation skills at all and hung up on me while I was trying to verify a call back time from supervisor. I would not recommend y’all to anyone and I got something in mail yesterday from American Home Shield and will keep them in mind when it comes to renewing.

When Choice first started years ago they were very poor service. I thought I would never again deal with this company. I thought I would give them one last try this year this year. I feel more comfortable with insurance. They have proven to be extremely better and the technicians are more professional. I am very satisfied with their services. I have this company for years and have submitted two claims this summer, one for my AC and one for my washer. After waiting weeks for my appointment for the AC repair tech in 100 degree weather for the past month I receive a text that they will not make for another 4 or 5 weeks, in which I lost it and hired my own repair person but because they would not waste valuable time submitting diagnostics and waiting for approval, they just just fixed it and charged me leaving me to deal with the company. I am still waiting on a repair appointment 6+ weeks for the washer so I just bought a damn washer, this is a joke if you live in a rural area.

I first went with Choice because of their reasonable rates, but I’m beginning to think that I made a big mistake going with them. I had a problem with my AC and had to wait two weeks because they couldn’t send somebody out. That’s unacceptable. I got somebody else, and Choice didn’t like the estimate. That’s not my first experience that happened. My AC went out during the hottest part of the summer, and all the contractor did was put StopLeak in it. If something breaks, I don’t wanna have to pay for everything at once. But after my past experiences with them, I’m on the fence. I get a hard time every time I try to call and talk to somebody. Once this issue is resolved, I’ll probably get somebody else.

The techs did not waste any time in discovering the leak problem and dealing with it in record time. They identified the problem and returned with the needed supplies and quickly removed the leaking hose and replaced it with a new hose very fast and through.

Avoid them in all cost. I switched to them because they they said they have good coverage of AC and I have five policies with them, 3 for 3 years. But if your AC ever break, good luck, they’re not gonna pay a dime and find every reason that the AC can break as a reason of denial. I spent hours on the phone with them, and my previous tenant has been moved out because if they don’t wanna take care of the problem And I have other unit the same story, if it AC broke, good luck, you have to pay thousands yourself!!!!

We have had a Choice Home Warranty policy for five years. In those years, we have had approximately 15 claims for repairs, and having the policy has saved us a lot of money as well as given us peace of mind. The service providers have been scheduled promptly and consistently delivered professional service. (FYI I tried uploading a receipt but it didn't work.)

I needed someone to come out TODAY, Friday because the electricity in the garage, den and laundry room went out due to overload. I was given an appointment for next Thursday. I can't go anywhere because the car is in the garage and I can't do laundry because the washer and dryer aren't on. I canceled the appointment and called an electrician to help me.

My experience started with my home warranty agent Miss ** who appeared genuinely concerned about my issue I had with my refrigerator! I told what the issues were at which time she asked me if if I could send her pictures of the parts in question, refrigerator and the label which has the model number and serial number of it. ** read back what I had told her and said she would get it immediately to the LG company. She advised me a service rep would be out in five days on Wednesday!
Not more than an hour after I spoke with Miss ** I received a phone call from Mr Fernando ** LG’s warranty representative. Mr ** asked me if I could send him pictures of the parts in question and as well the label with the model and serial numbers so he could have the correct parts when he arrives. Which I did. I received a phone call from Mr ** the day before my appointment who asked me if I was home! I said yes and he asked if he could stop by and take care of my refrigerator since he had the parts and was in the neighborhood? I agreed and he was here in about 20 minutes and spent about 45 minutes or so putting the new parts in and that was it! Great service all the way around!

The technician from Tyche Appliance Repair showed up on time after confirming the appointment. He fixed my minor issue and advised me on how to reset my appliance to avoid future calls. John was professional and a far cry from the appliance repair companies that I have used in the past.

The guy came from CCC Repair out of Texarkana. I think his name was Trent? He was super nice & seemed like he knew what he was talking about. Of course, a part had to be ordered, so I hope he’ll be back to complete the job. Looking forward to having cold food in my fridge.

We had purchased a home warranty with Choice well over a year ago. Although we never used them under the warranty, we found a better alternative elsewhere. I think I must have had over 10 messages asking us if I was going to renew and in each case I clearly told the agent we were NOT renewing and that we had signed up with a different supplier. I have just received my bank statement and now find that Choice have charged me both July and August for the monthly premium.
I called the Customer Service agent and asked for a refund. The agent was not at all helpful, and told me the system does not process refunds! When asked to speak to a supervisor, apparently he is the supervisor. He stated that the reason for the renewal was because my policy was on AUTO renew and even though we had told the Choice agents we were not renewing that did not count. A bad experience all round and I certainly do not recommend them. There is nothing like twisting the truth to gain financial benefit.

I have been with my previous home warranty provider for 10 years. I had to call in for a particular service a few times. I can count the times on 1 hand. The problem arises when it is time to call in a problem. This company seems more interested in collecting the service fee 1st; then let the chips fall as they may. What I am saying is if you need to speak to an agent regarding your problem, then you are up the creek with out a paddle. If the technician they sent out to resolve your problem does not do the task satisfyingly, you're up the creek without a paddle. If you try to call the technican back to complete the job correctly, forget it for the technician does not answer; only a voicemail where the technician does not respond to. Sort of like leaving you out to dry. A person can lose faith and trust in such a company.
To that point is why I am changing my home warranty provider to CHOICE immediately. The agent and I compared side by side policy coverages of CHOICE and my present one. CHOICE batted 100%. Had everything mine had. The sweetest part was that CHOICE monthly coverage ran circles around mine. Also the fee cost for technical cost for CHOICE was twice as less than mine. To top things off CHOICE was considered at the top of the list as #1 in a list of 10 BEST HOME WARRANTY PROVIDERS. Need I say more? I am glad I changed over to CHOICE. You will too!

I had an excellent experience. Was very easy to put in a claim and Hydro Heroes quickly accepted the job. Josh ** was on time for the appointment and was professional, knowledgeable, patient and kind. I highly recommend him and his business. Choice Home Warranty should continue to use him as he represents this home warranty company very well.

1. I had no issues with the technician except that he did not update/text/contact me when he was on his way as Choice customer service said he would. 2. I think the $100 service fee is too high! The tech was here for about an hour and all he diagnosed was that the ‘settings’ had to be reset. So far, the tub seems to be spinning out the water, but time will tell. 3. I needed to reschedule the start time of my appointment. Customer service gave me a new start time but I continued to receive messages that showed that the start time had NOT been changed. This was annoying and confusing. In summary, the experience was ok, but I am not sure I would recommend Choice to my friends who would expect top notch service and who are on fixed income. It’s hard to get what you pay for in 2025.😥

The tech who came out was great! However, the details of what is covered vs what is not is not necessarily helpful. Especially when you've bought an older home and the seller provided a home warranty as peace of mind. We have a leak on the roof from the plumbing stack falling that happened after move in sometime. Limited roof leaks and plumbing systems "covered", but because the stack is an "appendage" the work is not covered. Happy we did not pay for the warranty ourselves, and disappointed it does not help when something goes wrong with your home in very common circumstances.

Very happy that the tech was able to identify and resolve our issue with the water heater. His suggestion to also drain the tank to remove any excessive sediment was well received. I was told that certain items associated with the water heater would not be covered by the warranty if the unit needed to be replaced and would like to discuss that with Choice Home Warranty.

I placed a claim with Choice Home Warranty on July 16th. I finally had a technician come out on August 21st -- nearly five weeks later. The technician was great, no problems with them. He determined that the issue was my thermostat, which Choice Home Warranty promptly refused to replace. This is now consecutive claims in which Choice Home Warranty refused to pay for the repairs. Why am I paying for this service? It takes weeks to get service and they won't pay for repairs. You might as well drive down the highway and throw your money out the window.

I’ve had Choice for years and every one is very courteous! The only thing I have to say is it’s very hard to get the work approved and they always have an excuse to why they won’t approve it! It takes forever for someone to take the job and then they come out and always gets turned down so not sure if I’m gonna renew it.

Company scheduled my appointment rapidly, followed through. The technician was extremely friendly, explained everything. When it was determined that I needed a new part he pushed the company to get it so that he could come back the same day and repair it which he did. Don't pick these people for your warranty because they're going to deny everything. I'm out of 300 to close to $400 with this company. They have scammed me. I pay $85 for each person came out and I'm paying $49.25 and they don't cover it. Nothing. Each claim was denied and I got all the receipts of everything. People do not shop with this company. They are scammers. Then when I was denied they told me I had to wait to a supervisor called me within 2 hours. No supervisor called me then about 1:00 in the morning they sent me a email stating to make an appointment to talk to a supervisor about the claims. I am out of so much money.
I don't understand how people is allowed to do this to people. That's bad enough. We struggling and then we get people like big companies like this that take from us and they don't stick today bargain but they want us to stick to their bargain paying $49.25 a month but when something goes wrong with our equipment they denies it but I will be getting all my money back because I'm going to contact the Better Business bureau and I'm going to put up everything that was damaged and they claim that it can't be fixed but I'm constantly paying you guys $49.25 every month.

The repairs they’ve done for me over time have been good, and I’ve had no problems. The price and their online service were good as well. The problem is that some of their customer service representatives don't know what they’re doing. It depends on who you get on the phone, but the last one I spoke with was good. Overall, I’m satisfied with Choice Home Warranty’s service.

I’ve had a good experience with Choice Home Warranty. While I’ve been having issues with my sink draining slowly and an outdoor watering pipe leaking. I haven’t filed any claim because I can’t get in touch with them.
I live in Globe, Arizona, and the technicians come from Phoenix. I have to wait for them to have an opening or appointment. I don’t mind waiting a couple of days, two or three days is fine.

Eight years ago, I went looking for something to do a home warranty when Sears stopped doing things. So that's how I got Choice. It's improved over the years. It was horrific up until about a year ago. My husband's a vet so we got a discount, and they gave me a great rate. So their price was good at the time I took it out. I stayed because I'm due to renew at the end of this year.
I've had three different people this year who have been good. But these past three weeks, the people were terrible. It was not a good experience.

My claims are always handled efficiently. The response time could be a little quicker, but overall the experience is always a good one. I have had this policy for two years plus and submitted several claims. They always take care of the problem. I highly recommend this company to others. July the 30, my refrigerator went out. I called and talked to Ann, she said watch email for a service. At the end of the day, I called back, talked to her again, was told still working on someone in my area. Explained I have to refrigerate my medicine! Next day called, talk to Dave, same thing Aug. talked to Julie, same thing trying to get someone in my area. Every day I called, talked to Blondell, Jan, Jeralyn. I asked for supervisor, talked Jennifer, no results, then I’ve talked to Hannah Anna. John could not get an answer. So I did without a refrigerator for 2 1/2 weeks, so I went and bought me a refrigerator and now 3 1/2 weeks later, they have someone coming on a Sunday to service my refrigerator. Be careful what you buy.

This was not an easy claim. An A/C problem in summer. The reporting process went well, and then was set up with an appt. However, when I tried to adjust the appt time due to a previous medical time, the nightmare begun. The company, True Comfort AC, was horrible. Took 15 minutes to answer phone and then not talking direct to company, a 3rd party. She said would get back with me within an hour, 24 hours later, no call. Then I had to leave a message. After 2 calls to Choice, they finally called me later and said I had an appt 3 days after or 8 days after reporting. In fairness after the original Choice rep said she could not help me (the original A/C company was 50 miles away!) a supervisor from Choice called and did his best to help.

There was odor coming out of the laundry room, and putting in the claim for that with Choice was fast. The contractor came out and it went well. He was good. The smell returned, but, other than that, they tried to do their part. I have no other issues other than that, and, overall, everything works fine.

Had worse experience with Choice Home Warranty. We have been loyal customers since five years and recently got worst service ever. They charged us despite of no service. They assigned a case manager who none of them were trained on the protocols. They lack knowledge. We were dealt with three different case managers within a week who gave us three different responses. At the end none helped us. We are very much disappointed with the service.

I recently had a claim with Choice Home Warranty for my ice maker. The technician came to fix my ice maker. He found the problem, which others did not. I already thought he was a good guy, he fixed half of the problem, but he needed a replacement part to finish the repair. He's supposed to come back and it has been several days, so I'm hoping it will be resolved soon.
It all depends on your vendor. My first experience wasn’t great, the vendor didn’t show up when he was supposed to, and he didn’t fix the problem properly. My first claim, a long time ago, was denied because my 96-year-old mother, who used the same ice maker, was said to have “abused” it. I don’t know how you even fight a claim like that, but that’s already water under the bridge. I’d say “vendors” instead of “technicians,” because the men who have come to my house have all been wonderful. It’s the company they work for that hasn’t been.

I would avoid this firm like the plague. They continually raise their rates, will partially approved claims but that doesn’t not do the end user any good with a partially working dishwasher. Save your money and take your business elsewhere.

This has been by far my worst experience with Choice Home Warranty this summer. I believe I have been a customer for over 10yrs. The initial claim was for a possible leak for the pool on 6/4. It's now 8/22. The leak was repaired around early August. The pool was operating well until 8/10 for which a new claim was submitted. The new claim is for a completely separate part of the pool pump. The leak near the pressure gauge was denied by chw which meant I was responsible to getting it fixed. So far I have spent $150 on tech calls for the 2 claims. The 1st tech for the leak was not very good and did barely anything except some a few pictures. Since the leak was denied. I was able to get that part fixed. I was never told that I needed to get a professional tech to fix the leak. Just a horrible experience with chw on these 2 claims.

I feel like I hit the jackpot today with Maurice. Listen, good customer service isn’t always good nowadays. I was calling for my military son, who just didn’t have the time to research, or make phone calls to inquiry about estimates & coverages. I had some unique problems I’ll say & Maurice got it, he understood & explained every detail and made decent recommendations, not pushy. I liked him so much that I’ll most likely switch my personal HW and will be referring him to my daughter & others. Thank you Maurice, you calmed a military mom who has too much on her plate.

We needed a new ice maker in our refrigerator. They got the technician out quickly, and new parts installed within a week. It was great. The service tech was great, cleaned up after himself and the company was quick to get them out so we are very happy.

I am pleased to say that Choice warranty came through for fixing my air conditioner, it did take longer than expected. Sears did not make the 1st appointment, and we were very disappointed that they did not call or notify us that they were not going to be there on the day of the appointment. My wife had to take two days off to be at our home for the appointment. I feel that Sears customer service could use a lot of improvement. The service tech that showed up was on time for the 2nd appointment and had the air fixed on the same day.

DO NOT BUY THIS HOME WARRANTY PLAN! I originally purchased a five-year home warranty plan from Choice Home Warranty. I haven’t used it often, but when I have, I have encountered multiple issues. First of all, it doesn’t appear a lot of repair services will contract with Choice. Perhaps they know more than the consumer.
My latest issue concerns my icemaker. The flapper door stopped closing so ice in the icemaker was melting. I lodged my claim on July 8, 2025. An appointment was promptly set. You would think that would be a good thing, but it wasn’t. Somewhere in the system my claim was closed was. The funny thing is no one had come to look at the unit and no one told me the claim is closed. I got that information by calling Choice warranty back.
It took a month for someone to come look at my icemaker. They told me it couldn’t be repaired because the part was no longer available. That made sense because the refrigerator is 15 years old. Section E of my policy says Choice will offer a cash payout if things can’t be repaired. So I lodged a claim. Choice denied the claim saying the malfunction was due to “misuse, abuse, neglect, or physical damage” and was not covered by our policy. I find that a great catch all cop out. The unit failed due to normal wear and tear. And unfortunately, because of the age of the refrigerator, you cannot find a replacement part. Choice didn’t care. They offered no coverage on the icemaker.
The customer service process at the initial stage of a claim is a giant, confusing and frustrating runaround. However, once you file an appeal on a claim denial, the customer service process is good. However, the customer service representative you deal with during your appeal has one goal in mind – to deny the claim. That’s exactly what happened here. My advice is to save your money and pay for your own repairs or find another more reputable home warranty company. You’ll be glad you did!

Do not choose Choice Home Warranty for your services. Keep your money instead I would suggest looking at another company. Choice Home Warranty will deny your claim over any possible reason they can find in a two year period. I submitted four claims, small claims, not major claims. Small claims every single one of them was denied for some absurd technical reason that they found that they refused to work with me on, even when I appeal the claim because the reason that they’re denying it has nothing to do with the actual problem. They still refuse to work with you. Don’t waste your money. They’re awful company.

We bought our policy because broken down things in our home aren’t in our budget. This has been so helpful to know we only have to pay a set amount when the repair person comes out. This has been the 6th time I've used Choice over the past 3 years, and I have never been disappointed in the service or the results in the repair. The techs from each of the service providers have been very helpful, and explain in detail the issue, cause and repair requirements. I can whole hardly recommend Choice to anyone needing a home warranty, which should be about anyone who owns a home. It will pay for itself over time without a doubt. I was hesitant at first, but signed up for a 5-year plan full coverage and so far, I've have been pleased beyond expectations and have no second thought about the remainder of my plan which I'll will re-up in a couple of years.

I was working with a group that was promoted to me out of Sears but they weren't quite following through. I realized the benefit of having home warranty. At that time, Choice Warranty was offering a greater amount of coverage so I didn't go back to the company to question what they had. But once I signed with Choice, the other company said they cover those things too. But they didn't offer that to me, so what was I gonna say? Now I've been with Choice for a year and four months and I've had three services since month 10.
Recently, they were able to correct a minor repair in a refrigerator. The motor that pumps the water out on my washing machine went down after 5 years. I had an excellent service provider there. That gentleman came back three separate times to make sure he got everything correctly, so it's working fine.
Be very specific on the package and the program that you want. After year one, Choice chose to change my plan and increase it. I said they can't do that without my permission, so they immediately refunded me and apologized. They were basically trying to do away with the $75 service fee when someone comes out and pushed me to $100. Based on my experience with the previous company, they're on par with price. I know with increases in economics, they're trying to get me to change it though we're locked in. But I was like, “Unacceptable. Drop the plan right now.” So that was it. I'm current at the tax total at $60 a month.

While I won't say that CHW is a 'scam', I WILL say they are sleazy. I live way out there - my first question when signing up was "do you have any service personal in the area" to which they said "yes". Well, fast forward a few months and I had an electrical issue, put in a claim, and they took OVER 4 MONTHS to get someone (not from my area) to say yes to coming all the way out. Second issue was with the heat. I put in a claim, waited TWO MONTHS for them to get someone (again, from hours away) to say yes to coming out. But, that one was special, b/c you know, CHW refused to pay for it!
And finally, when I purchased I told them that I wanted the septic add-on for getting it pumped out covered (which they DO offer). They, of course, sold me the upgrade and all was good, right? Right? RIGHT?!?! Well, gather around my young Padawans: a year or two later I put in another claim to get it pumped, lo and behold, CHW cancelled the claim w/o reason! I called and they said, "Sir, we sold you the septic-covering-insurance, if you wanted the septic-PUMPING-service, that is different. Thanks for being a customer. [CLICK]".
Oh, yea, and the kicker is they've been trying to get me renew before it expires in a few months. I bring up my concerns, and have been told "Sir! We bought THREE other companies and provide MUCH better service now!" To which I said "I CURRENTLY have been waiting weeks on you to assign someone to come out and fix my dishwasher!" Their response: "SIR, Sir, sir: *YOU* are on a different contract, but if you PAY THOUSANDS to renew, we've got 'lots of technicians in your area' and will be able to help you out..." Sound Familiar?? So, yea, fine, I'll go head and say it: for *ME* Choice Home Warranty was a scam. If you live in more of a metropolitan area, maybe - just MAYBE - you'll have better results. I had American Home Shield back in the early 2000's, and MUCH better luck with them, but I did live in a city back then...

My most recent experience was wonderful. The washer broke, I filed a claim. Copayment was made online. Appointment was scheduled online within 5 minutes. Four days later the repair was completed to satisfaction. This is exactly how the process should work. This hasn’t been the case every time, but the majority of our experiences with Choice have been very positive.

Aug. 20. 2025 The Choice Home Warranty assign to my claim the Joseph's Drain Cleaning LLC. The technician Ben was show up and inspect the shower faucet, the first question before he even go in the Bathroom ask for the co payment $100.00 then without asking start to take a part the shower switch and make a statement is need to replaced. I ask him to re assemble because only the issue was dripping very slowly. He re assemble and just run out. When I try use the shower was not working. You cannot mix the cold and the hot water and visible show he assemble wrong.
I try to call the home insurance Choice. The answer, "You need to contact the contractor". I kind of surprise because I do not choose the contractor The CHOICE Warranty company assigned. Because I do not get any supports from choice I try to contact the Contractor. Sent several e-mails and phone calls. Was no response. Finally I think accidentally someone pickup the phone. Do not introduce himself just when I hear the problem right away told, "I call you back." After hours he pickup the phone again and told me send the picture. Then ask questions: The shower work before? Answer yes it was just the slow dripping the problem. He repeating the questions several times and hang up. I'm very disappointed in the contractor and the warranty CHOICE company. Beware this scams. Do not purchase Choice Home warranty and never let in your house the JOSEPH's Drain cleaning LLC.

The Tech (owner) was very nice and respectful and arrived a bit ahead of schedule which was a good thing.... My a/c works great.... My only concern was, he stated that if he missed something and it stopped working, and there had to be a callback, I would have to pay him $175.00.... I seems to me that if he was paid for it to be repaired but it didn't work, I should not have to pay again.... My receipt only shows, cleaning coils and the amount for showing up.... He stated that he changed something called a condenser and cleaned out water line.

Choice Home Warranty was excellent in sending out qualified technicians as soon as possible. Through my experience I noticed that all technicians were punctual, communicative and professional. My only complaint is that my appliance cost more than what was presented to me. After accounting for my service fee and difference in appliance cost, I paid more out of pocket than I anticipated. It was explained to me that this was in their guidelines and I understand that. However, it would be good to see appliance replacement funds match the current market. I also bought my washer and dryer as a set, it does suck that they won’t match now. It’s not the end of the world to me but my wife is not happy about it.

My washer’s door would not open. I submitted a claim. I was given a date extending more than a week. I called Homewood Appliance and explained the date was not durable. They changed the date and also put me on a waitlist. The waitlist worked and we were able to get an even closer date. They were very accommodating; responsive; respectful and professional. I asked to be given a 20 minute window and they also accommodated my request. Wonderful company

I got a very quick response after I filed a new claim to replace a pool timer, and that was a pleasant surprise. I worked with the company to schedule a time that was convenient for me. The day of the appointment I was out until about 30 minutes before the appointment time (a 4-hr window), only to find out when I walked through the door that the tech was already there and had already replaced the timer. I got to talk to him, and to his accompanying wife, and they are really nice people. I hope that they get the call whenever I have pool issues.

Wish I could give negative stars on this. Our furnace went out mid-February (during a blizzard) - 2 weeks later they dispatched a tech. They explained it was an older system and the bearings, squirrel cage, and blower motor was going out. That first tech- gave us the run around for weeks. Called Choice back and informed them the furnace was not repaired- They sent another tech out weeks later. Mid-May the second tech replaced the capacitor- Made notes about the same issues. It was blowing cold air, but still wasn’t repaired. The furnace goes completely out mid-July; and I have to now submit another claim because Choice “Completed” the capacitor.
Then they completely denied repairs because they said that it was not “normal wear and tear” since the tech who fixed the capacitor had put in his notes that the other repairs need to be completed to fix the furnace.... When I pointed out that the first tech shows where this was an old system and it wasn’t anything we damaged- but (in their words) since the first tech didn’t come back to make repairs that information doesn’t count.
We have another claim with our fridge- which was put in mid-March. They had sent 2 techs- both of which were approved to repair the fridge- both of which never repaired it. Called Choice (AGAIN), they said they will dispatch another tech. 4 weeks later nothing. I called Choice again, they told me I could get my own repairman and I would be reimbursed. So I did…. The fridge was not repairable (Kenmore Elite Twin Cooling). Bought a new fridge (even stayed on the cheap end). Submitted all paperwork. The Fridge alone was $2100 total- add another couple of hundred for the amounts we paid the other guys for coming out ($100 each). Choice offered me $700 reimbursement- now I’m having to appeal and wait for a case worker, in their words “I didn’t follow protocol”.
If I cancel now I will have to forfeit any money they’re going to reimburse me. We pay have their most expensive plan (with add-ons). Been with them for 5 years and the cost keeps going up and yet their services get shittier and shittier. This isn’t the first time Choice was awful…. About a year after we bought our house we had plumbing issues that were backing up into our basement ($3500 repair). Choice denied stating that since we’re on city sewage they do not cover anything to do with plumbing on the basement floor because they consider that “outside plumbing”. After this, I doubt I will ever go through another warranty company. Choice Home Warranty is worse than State Farm…. And that’s really saying something. Don’t waste your money and save yourself the frustration of dealing with these scammers.

They could not fix dryer, need to order part. I did pay them $85.00. They did say no charge when They come back with the part. They did arrive at 11am which was in the correct time frame. Both companies technicians arrived on time, were very friendly, fixed the problems, cleaned up, and finished in short amount of time. Had a problem with my garbage disposal, called it in. Service technicians came out within four days to check disposal. It was determined that I needed a new disposal. New disposal was installed same day. Technicians were courteous, cleaned up, and removed old disposal. Glad that I have Choice Home Warranty.

The technician, Randy, of RC plumbing, was prompt, very knowledgeable, and friendly. I would recommend him anytime. The call to schedule was timely and the time technician was scheduled was very fast. The only complaint I have is that the email you sent with appointment date and time was at 6:15 am the same day as appointment, and it would be better to have a little more time in case of conflicting times.

I am please with the response from Choice Home Warranty and how they kept me informed. The gentleman from IHN Professional Appliance Repair was very professional and informed me that they don't make parts for my refrigerator and let CHW know. I received an email stating they would be replacing my refrigerator. What I wasn't aware of is that they would send me an "e-gift card" from Lowe's... WITHIN 30 DAYS...... Uhmmm I don't have a refrigerator and how can a family wait 30 days for the money to pay for a new one? I called the 888 number and talked to someone from there, I asked about the egift card and he said it was out of their hands how quickly I would get the egift card. I could talk to my "Case Manager" through the portal.
Well, no one contacted ne back, I am now in limbo using bags of ice and coolers - until I can get the "E-Giftcard" within 30 days. I feel like I have been taken advantage of, the warranty is NOT CHEAP but necessary. I do understand you are replacing my refrigerator, but up to 30 days?!?! I am very, very disappointed. I am going to be shopping around for a new warranty. Hope is comes sooner than 30 days. So disappointed.

Representative came in, was professional and personable. Looked at the problem, took pictures and went back for Choice processing. After discussions, he got the necessary part/fixture and came back within a few hours and fixed the issue. They came early, outside the window, and that caused some stress. Otherwise, they did a couple of things but the issue wasn't solved. They left and I called them to say it's happening again. Electrical problems can be that way. They did come back but took a couple of hours. Maybe had they been more within the timeframe it would be easier for one trip to fix things. But later, they checked something outside and I had called FPL anyway b/c we all had ideas it was the power coming in, not inside the house. All in all it was a good experience.

I have submitted 2 different Air conditioning claims with Choice Home Warranty this year. One claim took over a month for them to find someone to do the service and the service company then rescheduled for another week later making the total time to even get a service person out over 6 weeks. The other call took 8 weeks and Choice could not find anyone so they authorized me to have the service done and get re-paid which they later denied coverage. Additionally I had a microwave claim that Choice approved replacement only to find out that Choice only pays "what they can buy it for from Lowes" ($194 for a $450 microwave and they do not cover the installation or removal)

Did my appliance request online and was contacted two days later by the service rep and told it would be one day later between 1230 and 4. Rep came, paid him the service charge, diagnosed the problem. Not a plumber issue but a washing machine issue and told us whet we needed to do. No bill, no write up of the issue and he left. I had to call back, start a new claim under washing machine and therefore when he comes pay another service charge. New claim given on Thursday notified on Friday that someone would be here between 1230 and 3. No one showed so I called Choice and now waiting for a new day and time with I hope better notice. I have not had one thing go right since I joined and if this isn’t resolved soon I am going to put in a complaint to the authorities.

Choice Home Warranty provided me the name and contact information for AIRBENDER A/C & HEATING LLC in response to my air conditioning claim. The Airbender technician was prompt and solved my problem in less than an hour. My only charge was the $65 service charge. Choice notified me of an appointment 2 days from my claim date. When I called Airbender to see if they could come sooner, I was told the appointment had not been confirmed by them. Luckily Airbender was able to come a day earlier than the unconfirmed appointment.

I’ve never experienced a company so proficient in offering false hope, empty promises, and absolutely no solutions when it matters most. My HVAC unit failed during the peak of summer — in unbearable heat — and I filed a claim immediately. What followed was a circus of incompetence, excuses, and stalling. Choice Home Warranty sent a contractor who clearly wasn’t qualified, took days to respond, and ultimately provided zero meaningful help.
Worse than the delays was the company’s astonishingly dismissive attitude. Every time I called, I was met with vague apologies, "understanding of my frustration," and meaningless reassurances that my issue was "a priority." Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. They offered no timeline, no alternative solution, no escalation, and certainly no repair. Just a steady stream of worthless “moral support” over the phone while I sweated it out — literally.
When I pressed for answers, they hid behind policy fine print and blamed the contractor network. At the end of the day, all I got from Choice Home Warranty was stress, wasted time, and a still-broken HVAC system. Let’s be clear: A warranty is supposed to provide peace of mind. My A/C went out, called Choice to put in a claim and their company assigned came out the very next day and repaired! How's that for service?!! Ivan, the tech was very professional and fast. I have two air conditioners so had to pay service fee for each but it was well worth it. Ivan noticed that the a/c tripped the breaker as he was packing up to leave and gave me a heads up that he was still around and needed to check the problem out. Turns out a breaker was burned out so he replaced that as well.

This experience left a lot to be desired. First I was never contacted by the service company until 9 am the day they were supposed to come. I didn't see this until I was at the end of my service window and I called them. Apparently I was supposed to confirm this window which was again not given to until a few hours before. I was then told that the whole unit would be replaced. I was given 272$ to replace the system through Lowe's. When I went on the Lowe's website. The cheapest dishwasher of the same style and brand was 399. I called customer service and was not able to speak to someone until the next day to see if the price could be increased. I was told no, that 272 was the most that would be given yet it is 120$ off from the lowest price on the Lowe's website.
I dont feel like these warranties are transparent, I would rather the item be fixed than get a new one that will cost me money. Unfortunately ever since we switched here there has only been problems. Not happy with this experience at all, or really any services I've had through this company so far.

The repair tech was great and they said the washer needed to be replaced and we paid 619.05 for it without taxes and it is almost 4 years old. It was a Whirlpool 4.3 cu. ft. and found same one at Lowe’s but. A 3.8 cu. ft. and it is 548.00 without taxes and Choice will only pay 406.00 doesn’t matter the brand you had.

I live in a city that has 2 companies that qualify to check the problems with my pool and I know for a fact that the one company I chose works with Choice. However, it took Choice 5 days to not get back to me with an option. I had no choice but to have Pro Pool and Spa come out. I requested for them to come out, but it got denied because I had a claim last year, that I didn't even use, which is ridiculous. I have been super unsatisfied with Choice. This last issue with my pool has been very disappointing. They said they would find a vendor for me and after several days, they never even got back to me. I was so much more proactive than them. I am just waiting for a response to say they denied my claim. Hopefully that doesn't happen.

Until today 20 August 2025. I have been a customer of Choice. But I will no longer take their BS denials. I was denied from twice. One was for my shower assembly all because of the wording. I informed CHW my shower knob is not working working anymore, after I paid the $100 deductible for someone to see the damaged shower assembly, I was denied. I called to ask why was it denied, "Shauntel M." informed me that I wrote damaged in the claim report. Duh, it is damaged if it does not work anymore. She instructed me that I have to pay for a plumber to come out and get a second opinion, which I did.
The plumber even wrote on the report that is was damaged due to "wear and tear" which of course that is what I am covered for. "Deanna F." called me this morning at 0737 hrs. CST Even though I requested 0945 hrs. CST. to deny my claim and tell me that they do not cover damages. They cover wear and tear due to mechanical. WHAT A BUNCH OF BS!!
The second claim denial was is due to to my Salt Cell assembly on my swimming pool. On the claim I simply stated the Salt Cell is not working anymore. After I paid the $100 dollar deductible, I was informed I was not covered for the Salt Cell. Even though I was informed I was covered when I first switched to CHW. This company is NOT A GOOD CHOICE.

He went beyond the scope of why he came out and checked everything to make sure my air was up and running. He even alerted me to a potential crisis. He checked my furnace and noticed a gas leak. I put my claim in a week ago. It took them almost one week to get a technician located to come check my air conditioning unit. And then that was only for pictures and to submit what needed to be fixed on it. It still hasn’t been repaired because Choice Home Warranty hasn’t approved the repair yet. The technician sent was fantastic. He explained to me in great detail what was wrong, and what was needed to be done. Now, it’s up to the warranty company to fix it. In the meantime, I’m doing without. Not good in over 90 degree heat for a disabled old man. I would still recommend it to my friends and family because it’s the best choice on the market, still. As usual, nothing accomplished. I understand this company refuses, denies and often doesn't allow items to be fixed, but there has to be some sort of accommodation and some sort of compensation. One way or another, I have to deal with the problem which costs money. Can't say I fully disagree with the decision, but I don't fully agree with the end result and the way it ended. A/C unit not operable when repair man came and when he left with no solution or help from Choice!!!! The other problem with an oven wasn't fixed either. In fact, never heard from the repair company. It took a few days for Choice to contact a company to send a technician. The reason they said was many of same problems in area. There were several companies within the area of where I lived and then when one was picked, it was out of Sharon, Pennsylvania area, almost an hour away,. When a company was assigned to the problem the technician was prompt to identify issue and service the unit once the insurance company okayed service and repair to be completed.

Complaint Against: Choice Home Warranty / Rely Home
Complaint Summary: I am an HVAC/electrical contractor. On [date], I was given verbal approval by Choice Home Warranty (rep: Brian) to proceed with an air conditioning replacement job. The total was $5,000 ($4,200 equipment + $800 tax and labor), with the customer responsible for the remaining balance. I confirmed approval three separate times before purchasing the equipment and preparing for installation. The following day, when I went to bill the job and requested an authorization number, I was told the claim was “under review.” Shortly after, I received notice that the claim was not approved. This is a complete reversal after clear approval had already been given.
Why This Is a Problem:
Choice Home Warranty misrepresented the approval status.
They caused unnecessary delay for the customer and financial risk for my company.

I filed a claim for my hvac unit on (blowing warm air) on August 1st 2025 and was told it would be assigned to a technician asap. 2 days past and I received an email stating the tech would be there at end of week, the day came along with time window at an end so I called tech and he stated he wouldn’t make it as he "was out of Freon" so later that day (Thursday) it was assigned to another technician for Monday between 9-3. I called the tech several times and he continuously hung up on me.
I’ve talked to Choice Warranty 4 times since and have been told the matter would be escalated each time only to have been told on the last call it was not escalated. Today is Tuesday, 8/19 the last call was Friday 8/15 and still NOTHING!! I have completely regret my decision to go with this company and certainly would no means recommend it. And btw for problems you cannot speak to anyone in USA, you're transferred to a call center in India.

We waited four weeks to have somebody come look at our cooktop never could find anybody. We finally just replaced it. You guys sent us $839 and canceled two years of our contract. I don’t believe that was very good service. There should be a time limit on how long you have to find somebody to come out to repair items that are covered or they need to be replaced. We’re going to consider either refunding the rest of our contract or giving it one more chance. We also replaced our sump pump which is covered, but we didn’t know how long it was going to take and they were calling for a chance of flash floods so I should’ve turned that in also but I did not.

I had an issue with my KitchenAid refrigerator and it was determined that it had to be replaced. I purchased a new one for $3,799 and it delivered and installed. Choice Warranty offered me $818 (Absurd) to replace it even though my plan had a replacement cost up to a $3,000. I called to complain and after getting passed from one person to another I spoke to a person who said that they could increase the offer to $1,199, but it would have to be in the form of a Lowe’s gift card. Since I already purchased the new unit a gift card would not work for me.
I was then told that if I wanted a check it could only be for the original offer of $818 (totally absurd). Since I couldn’t use the gift card, I ended up taking the check for $818. I will never do business with Choice again and will be canceling my service as soon as I receive the check and get a new contract with a reputable company.

Totally fake, not responsible about claim. Only one condition they respond to customers (it’s just sell.) Otherwise, never pick phone. You should chat with ROBOT. You have to make claim online. You have to long wait for someone service provider when the choose home warranty select for you. Mostly they charge you higher than normal price. Also, you should pay your service fee (no matter your job is done or not.) I cancel my home warranty today because I wasn’t happy for their services. I made claim for my garage door opener. Service provider show late after 4 days on my claim. I keep my both cars under heat in Texas for 4 days. Because they are late. I paid my $75 service fee. After that, they made $1150 statements for broken springs. I called other company. They fix my door between hours. I paid $400 about repair. Do you think need home warranty for home? Absolutely not. I placed a request for repair with Choice Home Warranty on 8/15/2025. I live in mid-Missouri and we were under a heat advisory (over the next three days, the temp was at or above 98 degrees.) On Monday, 8/18/2025, I called to see if there was any progress. There wasn't. I had questions about a second possibility, which they clarified for me. I chose to go that route and contacted Comfort Care Heating and Air Conditioning, who arrived at 11 am and they arrived approximately 2 hours later. I explained the procedure required by Choice and within 10 minutes, the technician diagnosed the problem as a failed part...$28.00; total charge would be $136.00.
Since with Choice I would have to pay $65.00 anyway for the visit (my contractual responsibility), that left only $71.00 that was above my responsibility. Choice's requirement for approval would likely have caused me (73) and my wife (73) to languish another several days before approval. Paying the bill myself seemed the better alternative than waiting on Choice's protracted process. Now in Choice's defense, I may have been willing to undergo the process had the temperatures been reasonable or the cost been high or the unit needed to be replaced, so I give them a three of five. I would easily have given them a five IF they had a process that allowed faster diagnosis of the problem. My real question is this; Why could I get a company to respond in 2 hours and they couldn't get one to repond in three days?

The first person to come out diagnosed the problem, but said another technician would need to come to do repairs. After several unsatisfactory phone calls and several appointments, Sears declined to attempt the repair. I was furious as the weather was hot! When the job was reassigned to another technician, it was a different story. Peter, from CES, kept me informed of his arrival, including traffic problems causing a little delay. He was professional, cordial and competent. He diagnosed my AC problem, corrected it and AC is now operating well. My opinion of Sears was very unsatisfactory and CES very satisfactory.

The first time I called to have the refrigerator serviced it was a nightmare dealing with Electrolux. It wasn’t until I spoke with a manager at Choice that the problem was abated. But recently, the refrigerator needed service, the tech looked in the freezer and stated “we don’t service fridges that use freon. Luckily for Choice, Spin Cycle Appliance was sent and the problem was solved. Unfortunately for my tenants, their food was a lost. I chose Choice to eliminate anxiety but so far I’m not sure if I made the right decision.

My AC went out, I contacted Choice Warranty and they got back to me within an hour. Repairman came out next day and fixed the problem. Very good service. I would recommend Choice Warranty to Family and Friends because they seem to be very prompt and professional.

Stay away from this, they are a scam. Denied my claim saying the problem occurred over time. They tell you it doesn't matter how old the the appliance is, and it doesn't matter. They will come up with every excuse to not fix it, even though the repairman says it needs replacing. Stay away.

Technician was very patient by waiting on Choice Home Warranty to make a back and forth decision if my claim would be approved for it to be denied. It's the warranty company that's unsatisfying for being a long time customer, there is no compensation for anything beyond your control.

The first tech from Temp Savers HVAC was garbage. The tech came out in a timely manner but never submitted the required diagnostic to Choice. Choice hadn’t received the information for several days nor did they reassign work order until I reached out. Then had the nerve to push the call out for over 16 days after I initially reported the issue. However, Manning HVAC tech was awesome. The appt was scheduled like 16 days after I initially put in the claim, after calling the tech to see if they were able to assist before the scheduled appt and he came right on. The problem wasn’t the tech. The problem is Choice warranty who seems to becoming like the other bad warranty companies. I’m more than likely will be looking for a different warranty company soon.

I was very pleased with my technician, Ray. He was very courteous, mindful and professional. He knew what he was doing and took care of my issue. My dishwasher wasn't draining. He came, found a nasty clog in my recess line, cleared it out, unclogged it, unclogged my garbage disposal and voila! Back to normal!

The experience with Choice itself was fine. The only issue I have is that they don't account for the enormous amount of labor and parts needed to complete the project and therefore leave you with a huge residual bill!!! The plumbing company was fine. The only issue is the proclaimed need to bring things "up to code" which essentially wipes away the benefit of having Choice due to all of the added costs!!! I ended up paying out MORE than Choice which doesn't make sense when you pay $800 per year for many years!!

I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years. The manager I talked to Matthew was not helpful. I explained I’m in Texas and have been without AC for almost a week. I had to purchase a window ac and fans so I can be not so hot in my house. When I asked what Choice would do for me he bluntly said nothing. We do not help with that. About 30 minutes later I received a denial of claim email. How is not a worn fan blade and motor not normal wear and tear! I also heard that the ceo was very involved with the company. I emailed ** and nothing. I have filed a BBB complaint to get this resolved. I wouldn’t recommend this company. Stay away. Don’t waste your money. They say they have a right to deny any claim. And yes they do. I pay almost 700 a year and have not had any claims since 2022. I now laugh with the celebrity endorsements. This company is a total rip off.

Choice Home Warranty is one of the best if not the best home warranty company that exist. You can’t go wrong by choosing them! I’ve used them for many many years and once I put a claim in, a technician is dispatched within one to two days. I don’t write reviews unless it’s important to me.

The technician that came out to assess the problem was quick and efficient. He recommends that my AC be replaced so I will be waiting to see what happens with that. Still waiting to hear from the company about when they’re going to replace it. That will be the real test of how good the warranty is.

Since I had issues with another warranty company, I researched top warranty companies and Choice popped up as the highest rated! I was immediately impressed that they offered discounts to Seniors and for having more than one property covered. The other warranty company did not have such offers! The service fee is also cheaper than the other warranty company and no deductible charge if a replacement is needed. This appears to be a much better option all around. In addition, the representative I spoke with was very knowledgeable and communicated plainly in the English Language!!!!

I have been with CHW for more than 8 months, they have no problem deducting payment from my checking account every month but wen it comes time for service, that's a whole different story. I called for service back in May for my refrigerator not cooling, I was told I would hear something within 24 to 48 hours, 3 weeks went by, never heard anything from anyone, (CHW or Service tech), so I YOUTUBEed my fridge problem and attempted to repair it myself, replaced all 3 fan moters, still not cooling, so I called CHW again, again I was told 24 to 48 hours, still no call, text or email, nothing at all, so I called CHW again and was told that they were sorry for the inconvenience and would expedite the service order. So now again we play the waiting game, I would NOT recommend CHW for anything, unless you just like to give money away...

When we purchased our home in Texas, it came with a Choice Home Warranty. Unfortunately, our experience with their service has been quite frustrating. Since 2022, we have been dealing with ongoing issues with our air conditioning unit. It's been challenging to secure effective service, largely due to a consistent language barrier with the technicians sent by Choice Home Warranty, as most did not speak English. I've had to rely on Google Translate to communicate with some of the technicians.
In one instance, a technician removed a part from the air conditioning unit that another technician later informed me should not have been removed. In June 2025, when my capacitor failed, I struggled to get in touch with Choice's customer service. They eventually instructed me to hire my own technician for the repair. However, they failed to inform me that choosing an external contractor would prevent me from using their services again.
By August, the compressor of my air conditioning unit also failed during a heatwave, prompting me to contact the same company that had replaced my capacitor to rule out any issues. I decided to stick with them for the repair, but when I informed Choice, they initially rejected my request due to my previous choice in June. After reaching out to the district manager, I was able to get approval to use my preferred contractor.
After weeks of navigating the process, my air conditioning system is finally set to be repaired. However, I found out that Choice would only reimburse me $1,245 of the over $12,000 repair cost, which raises concerns about their pricing structure for contractors—especially as this amount does not cover labor costs adequately. Consequently, I am responsible for covering the remaining expenses out of pocket. Overall, I would not recommend Choice Home Warranty based on my experience, as their contractor service has been inconsistent. For example, it took three weeks to fix my garbage disposal. This lack of reliability has led me to lose confidence in their service entirely.

I had a valid dishwasher claim. The panel was malfunctioning. I began the claim on June 5, 2025. It is August 18, 2025 today, and they still have not repaired my dishwasher. They have missed 6 appointments, and did not know where "parts" were. Today, they cancelled their 7th appointment to finally replace the malfunctioning part, and re-scheduled me to September 5, 2025, or NINETY days after the claim was made. I have had 3 claims with Choice, the other 2 were denied, and this is the 3rd claim. I would cancel the coverage, but I was stupid and paid for a 5 year policy. What a waste of money.

After a temporary reschedule due to limited available plumbers, the men arrived precisely on time, assessed the issue, and got right to work. They finished the repair in record time in a very professional and friendly manner. They answered all my questions in an understandable way and took a picture of the problem so I could see the issue. The only thing they forgot was to screw the top on the bathtub drain…Easy to do myself. I would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat.
