I would recommend not wasting your money with this company's home warranty plans. I too, thought this was going to be a nice thing to have for peace of mind. Let me walk you through what you really get with Choice Home Warranty. You will get some interesting "service" providers and very cheap parts. This is because choice home warranty has awful reimbursement rates they pay their contracted service providers.
I've filed 5 claims in the past 2 yrs. The only claim I was satisfied with is because they couldn't find a provider to fix my AC in the middle of the summer. So they asked I find one, have them call with diagnosis and authorize. They reimbursed me, of course it was less then what I paid a reputable company to come out but hey I got good service and a quality repair/product. They replaced a spa heater for an in ground pool/spa. The heater replaced is one that would be used for a kid pool it was so small. Couldnt push enough hot water to warm the spa and would trip breaker because it was getting too hot. The repair guy said, "It works, may not be functional for what you have but this company isn't going to pay anything to replace."
I had another AC issue, unit is 15yrs old. Finally freon leaked. It went out. I filed a claim, asked that I get my own service provider to diagnose. They denied that and tried to send a company 1hr 45 mins away. I live in a major city, with a 1000 AC companies within 20mins, why would they only have someone this far. I didn't want to sacrifice service or a possible install with a no name random company. I offered to provide the diagnosis, AC companies info to confirm the issue. They stated they won't reimburse people anymore.
At the end of the day you were going to pay a company to come here and do the same thing based off the same diagnosis. How choice home warranty would choose to repair I dont know, but I'm only asking for that amount you would have approved the company you were going to send. I think its pretty reasonable, I also did it in the past who would have thought that all the sudden "they don't do that anymore" and denied my claim. I give you this long story to hopefully help you make a decision on what would be a good fit for you. Are all the service companies that have bad? Probably not. Are all warranty companies bad? probably not.
Are they a business that will give you bare minimums if lucky, absolutely. These warranty's arent cheap. If you are renting houses and it's not a long term house for you then you may be ok with cheap repairs and products and it may fit what you need, For me it doesn't and they will pinch you every way they can. I'd recommend not ever using this company if you were to go to a home warranty. Look at the BBB claims they have....

Service tech was very professional, very honest, provide insights on how to use the a/c. He checked all components of the air unit, used all necessary equipment to ensure the best service provided. The company overall was very professional and was very helpful in a critical time.

Sam told me I didn't need the salesperson who emailed me and took over sale. Every time I told him to stop trying to sell add on he just kept going. I almost canceled the whole thing because of it. I now feel he stole sale from Michelle. I never want to speak with Sam again.

Bradly ** went above and beyond to find and fix the problem with our central A/C problem that was caused by our previous home warranty company. If we have any other problem with the a/c I would ask for Mr. ** to do the work.

Andre provided excellent customer service and good options. The only thing that would be helpful is to add additional billing options for customers looking to purchase but are unable to afford the full cost upfront. Other than that Andre was able to provide answers to all the questions I had and followed up right on time!

Appliance and power repairs. I am taking a few minutes to tell you some things that need to change if you want to a remarkable company with excellent customer service and vendors. If you don't change any of the things I mention below, then you won't be excellent.
2. Your website portal entries do not follow chronologically well, so when someone is contacting you and looking for updates, I know that my entries are out of chronological order, so portal is NOT as helpful as you intend.
3. The customer service people who do finally answer your phones mean well, however, they don't always take the best/accurate notes. They are polite and apologetic when I have an issue that they will try to resolve.
4. I have called or gone on the portal 4 times now since 5/10/20 regarding a dishwasher repair. All the calls and the portal entries, now my repair is for a microwave...nope....still waiting now for the third vendor to come TO FIX MY DISHWASHER.
Get it together and show that Choice Home Warranty is a premier company, and the industry's excellent leader. Sheryl **, if you want me to call back leave a good contact person and number.

Plumbing issues. Identifying a repair source and dispatching them to our house has improved significantly over the past. It was identified and dispatched within one day versus the previous week, which helped us significantly. I was forced to hire direct twice before due to the urgency of the repair need and the lack of a response from Choice.

Water Heater. The final result was very good, but when I tried to file a claim over the phone, which I prefer, they took my phone number and were to call me back when my turn was up. After over two hours of waiting, I finally went online and filed the claim and then things were handled very effectively. You should not tell people that you will call back if you do not intend to do so.

Technician was friendly and completed work quickly and satisfactorily. He and his assistant also answered my questions well. Issue turned out be very minor so they cleared it quickly. My level of dissatisfaction is around two things. 1> - Techs tracked a small, but noticeable amount of dried mud into my house and on floors and carpet. Boot/Shoe covers could have avoided that. 2> -Neither tech had any kind of Covid protection. Seems in this timeframe techs, entering people's homes, should have some level of protection for themselves and their customers. So though I was happy with the service call and outcome, I was not completely satisfied due to the issues I pointed out.

The plumbers corrected the issue the first time. Issue was caused by last homeowner intentionally doubling up wax seals, using 2 instead of 1, which caused toilet to malfunction.The plumbers came by on fairly short notice, were efficient and polite. Thank You!

Went online, left info, received return call from Cameron **, asked him to call back when my husband would be home. @6:05pm I saw it was Choice Home [thinking it was [Mike] Cameron. I told my husband it was Mike, he said ''Hey Mike'']. The person did not acknowledge he was not Mike [Cameron]. He proceeded to sell him the contract, I even asked to speak to him, I too said ''Hey Mike.'' He laughed and said ''Hi'', he never gave me his name nor corrected me to let me know he was not Cameron. I don't think it's fair to Cameron because we feel he should have the contract.. I think he should also get credit for the referral, my bro. in law, Mr. ** had just signed with the company, he looked up the information.

The renewal process went very smoothly and included the rep sharing with me the multi-property option. I had the coverage on my rental property initially, but having just moved into a newer home, myself, I was able to get a better deal with coverage on both homes. My rep explained all the benefits to me and showed me how to get great coverage for both homes.

I was very impressed with 1st Call Heating and Cooling Team. They were VERY thorough, great customer service and took the time to ask me questions to look at all the problems and not just fix the one issue. End result is he found the real root cause of a leaking Condenser Coil and why the system was not cooling. I would recommend this company to others and already have.

This isn’t my first claim and every time I filed on it was met as extremely important and someone came out the same day or the next day. Put in claim last Sunday. A/C man came out Monday. Been going back and forth with CBS and A/c person still having come to fix unit. It IS 90 degrees in this house. Terrible. I have called several times and nothing is done. I would like for you all to be in 90 degrees in house for almost a week. Terrible service.

I didn't know there would be more money out of pocket for the electric water heater. There is no flute on this type of heater, I already have new pipes on this heater also and if removing the old one is a problem and can have it removed to save $450. I thought the warranty cover all. If not you replace the heater and I can get labor done myself.

I have had two services in the last month. Fortunately, my icemaker is now working although I had to have a recall visit. I did have trouble getting the recall as the icemaker did not work at first, but it was a small problem. All serviceman were polite and respectful. The plumbing problem is completely resolved. I had an issue with my refrigerator. Choice had a repairman come out right away and offered a resolution with in 24 hours! My refrigerator was not fixable, and the next day I received an email stating they were replacing it! I highly recommend Choice!

Poor pmt to maint tech poor service, not open during a weekend when I needed service which required prior authorization then refusal to pay for the service. Never again recommend or use this company for services. Highly dissatisfied with experience and service.

Bryan showed up and was very courteous and friendly. He was very knowledgeable about his job. He immediately found the problem and replaced the part all within ten minutes. He put everything back together and came inside to make sure the unit was cooling. He explained the problem in terms that I could understand.

I went online and researched the top 5 Home Warranty Co. Choice Home Warranty seem to have what I was looking for. I fill out the form and I received a quote immediately. I was impressed. I called and was connected to a rep. Immediately. Ronald was great, he told me my options didn't pressure me and I now have the extended warranty. Customer service gets a 2 thumbs up.

A/C not cooling. Jeff and Octavia from Kingsport Plumbing and Cooling were here yesterday a week after claim was filed. Ran their diagnostics. Found a leak in the Evaporator coil. Assuming the replacement parts were ordered should be fixed next week. I reserve my comments until job finished.

They were unable to get anyone out to my home for 8 days to take a look at the fridge which had completely stopped working. The repairman was courteous and professional however he didn’t have the compressor needed to fix our fridge so they had to order it. When all is said and done our fridge will be inoperable for over 3 weeks so we spent a little over 600 bucks on a very basic unit to use. Overall Choice Home warranty Is going to cover the cost of the repair so I’m happy about that but I’m extremely disappointed with how long it took to get someone out to look at it.

Terrible process. Without Major utility for 1 week and counting. Overall, always being nitpicked for a few hundred here and there. When salesman pitches contract, says what appliances are covered and basically if can’t repair it will be replaced for a $45 fee. Conveniently fails to mention all of the subtitles and escape clauses which are all but impossible to adhere to in the real world. Screwed me on my a/c unit and now, not surprisingly dragging feet on my hot water heater. After this contract is up, will Absolutely NOT renew and will never recommend to anyone. Very disappointed with customer service, fine lines in contract, and always trying to not cover this and that. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible.

Our AC went out in 100+ degree weather. Our tech was out the next day after we went online to report the outage. The tech just gave us some bad news that we can't turn on our AC until he can get the parts to fix. Time will tell what we do next.

I've used the Choice Home Warranty Service on more than one occasion twice for the dryer which they ended up replacing which was great. The other times were for the air duct for the dryer and as a new homeowner, I can appreciate the customer service they extended to at the time.

AC fix. Corey did an outstanding job in identifying the problem that was causing our unit to stop working. It literally took him minutes to isolate the trouble and get it working again. He then made sure that the unit was cooling properly and serviced the Freon for the unit. He was very polite, very funny, wore a mask per COVID guidelines. He was well equipped for the job and I definitely would request him in the future!

Awful service. I made a claim after my policy started and they told me they couldn’t replace my compressor because it’s pre existing. I live in SC. I’m not going to have no air with two small children!!!! I will never ever use them or recommend them to anyone! They have tried to cheat me out of money several times.

There is no cool air coming. Looking at the outside condenser. Soon after my initial claim, a service contractor was assigned the very next day. The service contractor called within 30 minutes of getting this job assigned and scheduled an appointment for the next business day. A serviceman showed up in that time frame and diagnosed the issue and fixed it. This claim is resolved very professionally and in time. Happy and appreciate the service provided.

To date I have only signed up with CHW. The company was recommended by a friend who has been happy with her service. The person with whom I dealt was very professional and helpful. It is difficult to judge a business until you really need to use them. At this time I am new to CHW but I hope the company is as good on the service side as it was on the sales side. Since this is a to be decided factor, I am unable to say more at this time.

Electrical issue. Ron R., the electrician contracted by Choice, was very knowledgeable. He was not familiar with the construction of my townhouse and it took time to identify the cause. Once He identified the problem, he systematically corrected the issue. He was personable and effective. Would use him again for any electrical items,

Repairman was here July 12th, the next day I called about my dryer. He couldn't fix and had to order part. He said it would be the 23rd of July. This is a long time without a dryer. Same thing lady summer when my air was out. I finally called someone and paid out of pocket.

Contract. The agent was friendly but he spoke too fast. I understand the unit must actually break down. What if it is operating below spec? Does this count? If I want the roof covered how much extra will it cost.

Refrigerator. Bottom compartment was freezing not cooling. Technician found the problem immediately and explained it to me and how to keep it from happening again. The only issue I had was that initially I was told the tech would be there between 7-11. I received a text later to say it was between 11-3. I did call to confirm that it was fine.

Three months of not talking with claim rep. Offered $174 for new dishwasher. That should cover a tub and washboard not a dishwasher. I have tried over 40 times contacting Lori ** at the number given and ext. Cannot get anyone. Phoning for help, they can't do anything. This company wants to wait you out where you will give up in claims process. Should have taken to small claims court. Dishwasher was good quality and I offered the number of same to claims. Not heard anything but a few emails. Really need to read fine print in contract if you get one.

Devon came to the house, confirmed the disposal was bad and submitted the report. A few days later after getting approval installed new disposal. Disposal works fine. Devon of Ample Home Improvements was very courteous and professional. The service was excellent. I would highly recommend this company.

The tech, Oscar, from Bennett & Sons A/C, LLC arrived at 4PM. The original appt time was 11AM -3PM, but that was changed by the AC company to 2P-4P. Oscar was pleasant and appeared very knowledgeable. He replaced the fan motor on our Payne PA10 AC unit. The fan works but he left wires sticking out rather than cutting them to fit. Technician recommended replacing unit, or at least replacing the coil.

AC repair. The technician sent out to do the repair was courteous and neat. He explained in detail what would be required and why. My beef is with warranty administrators who are bound and determined to make the repair process as convoluted and frustrating as possible. Three claims in the past year and every one of them was an administrative nightmare.

Plumber was on time and very professional. He explained what needed to be done. He found a seeping joint under the sink and fixed that, too. Protected the cabinets and floors and cleaned up after the job was completed. Very satisfied with his work.

Our service tech's name was Alex. He was very polite and professional. My wife and I appreciated that Alex wore a face mask and practiced distancing. Alex assessed and corrected our problem in less than an hour. Our home is now "cool", literally! Alex also gave us several payment options. This was convenient. The only (minor) problem is - we're still waiting for an emailed receipt. Otherwise, our experience was prompt, seamless and appreciated. Thanks Alex and Thanks CHOICE Warranty!

We moved into our home a few weeks ago and immediately had some water back in up into our basement, so I call Choice Home to schedule someone to come out - they said within 24 hours someone would be assigned and did not tell me I could hire someone and get reimbursed or any other options. The next day someone was assigned to come 7 DAYS LATER. Mind you our basement is filled with human waste! We call back pleading for an earlier appointment for them to say, "Oh that's the earliest they have"! I said, "Ok I have to hire someone because I cannot live like this" and they say, "Well you will not be reimbursed!"
We call the plumber they assigned. No answer. So we hire someone else and spend 700 dollars. The next day the original plumber calls back and said, "Oh I had earlier appointments. They just didn't book that!" Choice home knows what they are doing! They back you into a corner to pay yourself then will not reimburse you because you have to establish that before they assign a plumber, but they do not tell you that at all upfront. So after all said and done we call asking for reimbursement because they did not give us all the info upfront and also lied to us about the plumber's availability.
In total, we spent about 8 hours on the phone with no resolution or even an OUNCE of sympathy! If I were paying for this I would have cancelled the day this happened, but our seller pays for a year. The second that year is over I will be finding somewhere else. Not one person on the phone was helpful. We talked to probably 10 people by the time it was all done and no one seemed to cared. FIND A DIFFERENT COMPANY.

Very disappointed with these Home Warranty companies. This is my 2nd Home Warranty company that covers nothing. I have been paying for Home Warranties for 15 years and have only used them 3 times, but all I pay for is diagnostics because you cover nothing. I'm better off paying someone that can take care of the problem instead of just diagnosing the problem. I'm stuck with the issue and paying service fees. It's all a scam!

Something had jammed in the disposal and there was no action. Technician recovered a screw which had fallen into the disposal, jammed it up. He removed it and everything was good. Took 10 minutes to repair. The tech was pleasant, courteous and efficient. I would have him come again.

Dishwasher repair. After 3 rescheduling by repairmen, 1 repairman diagnosed problem and advised part was discontinued, you then sent another repairman out for 2nd opinion, he called and advised he could get part. So in essence 1 more day staying around to try and get my dishwasher repair resolved (6 days staying home to hopefully to get dishwasher repaired). On top of all this I have “Total Warranty” and in my warranty book it states a lot of covered items are required to have Platinum or Gold Plans. You advised there are no longer Platinum and Gold. Why not update or advise your contractors that the Total Plan replaces Platinum and Gold. Also, why not take the time to update your contract which isn’t correct.

I have 2 claims currently open with Choice Home Warranty in the last month. Here is a brief synopsis: Claim 1: Hot water heater is leaking water from the pressure release valve. After plumber comes out, I’m notified by choice that it’s been approved for repair. A week goes by and I haven’t heard anything from the plumber so I call. He says that he pled my case and I was approved for water heater replacement and my only out of pocket cost would be for modifications to get it up to code which would be about $650. He was simply waiting for parts to come in and I should be getting an invoice with total cost. Fast forward to 4 weeks after my claim is placed, and about 6 phone calls to both the plumber and Choice with no updates and my hot water heater claim magically switch from “needing repair” to “no repairs needed, claim closed”. No explanation... And my water heater is STILL leaking
Claim 2: the pipes from my bathroom sink is completely clogged. The above mentioned plumber was dispatched at the same time to fix my sink. I’m now on week 4 with a non functioning sink in my 1 bathroom house with zero response from the plumber and zero help resolving the issue from choice despite several phone calls to them. I’m simply it will be “escalated”.
This is a company recommended by Choice, I have been fed completely wrong information on my claim and the company has proven to be completely unreliable and I’m still supposed to trust them with my repairs whenever they decide to return phone calls? Every claim you place will be a battle and there will always be a loophole to avoid covering the costs. You will spend hours wasted on hold with representatives that get you nowhere. I renewed my subscription before having this terrible experience, the previous claims were handled in a somewhat tolerable manner but the customer service overall has been disappointing. Thankfully I am still within 30 days and will be calling to cancel and take my business elsewhere. DO NOT BUY!!!!

I just signed up with Choice Home Warranty. The customer service representative was very courteous, knowledgeable, took time to restate information, and respond to questions. Over the past several years, I've replaced a refrigerator, clothes dryer, water heater and sump pump at my own expense. I regret that I did not respond to their generous offer months ago as it would have relieved some of the stress and out of pocket expense. I feel like I was scammed. I am a disabled Senior Citizen. A recent widow on fixed income. I don’t have the money to have it fixed. I would never have signed up and paid you all a dime had I known about the hidden cost. Read all emails I sent on the questionable "24/7" online support. Your "management" that called me failed to acknowledge Choice Home Warranty's mistakes and rectify them. I am thoroughly disappointed in the communication and call backs I requested. Your customer service has it on record that my unit is question only has a ten year manufacturer's warranty but they still claim it is lifetime. Not one representative could confirm a call ever being made to the manufacturer to double check. Everything is based off "your records." I have spent countless hours on the phone and online chat and now after three (3) weeks I have to pay out of pocket to get the problem resolved so my 2 year old son and wife, who works at home, have air conditioning in 90+ degree weather with 80%+ humidity. So thank you for nothing except wasting my time because you couldn't pay for $150 part after approving labor costs.
This has clearly been the worst interaction with any company besides the help Charles and Jessica offered. They didn't do anything but of all the representatives I spoke with, they seemed to be the only ones concerned and trying to help. Only problem is, you don't let your customer service representatives actually help. Everything is a pre-scripted response that solves nothing. Please read back claim number ** and get back to me with how you would feel if you were in my position. *You may want to free your schedule to read all the pre-typed generic responses.* Also you don't give an option of Zero stars so I had to select one star.

Yesterday, Action Appliance came to my home and worked some on the dishwasher. He told me the drain pump was only working when it wanted to and he was going to order a new drain pump. Now Choice is saying the repairman said it was a power surge. He never told me that. Further Choice is now saying My policy ** does not cover power surges. There was no power surge and the repairman did not say anything about a power surge. He said my Maytag dishwasher needed a drain pump. Help me to understand what is going on?

I took Choice Home Warranty around 9 months back (took a 2 year policy) and the sales guys told me that other than the mandatory service fee per claim, I do not have to pay any penny from my pocket. And as I took the Total protection plan, most of the appliance would be covered. As I was not familiar with the process, I requested them to come and inspect the home appliances at my house, as mine was a fairly new house (just 5 years old house). I just wanted a peace of mind and they guaranteed that I would have peace of mind.
Now unfortunately, my AC stopped working and once the technician checked, some parts needed to be replaced. I got a message from the CHW that I need to pay a huge amount as NON COVERED ITEM charges. I immediately wanted to talk to the customer service, but as most of you must already have experienced, you cannot talk to them for an existing claim unless you are ready to hold for at least 45 minutes. But I didn't give up. I talked to the customer service and they suggested me to decline the charges, which I did. The Customer Service Rep convinced me that a case manager would call me immediately within 24 hours to talk to me. I waited for 2 days and then started reaching out to the number given to me for the case manager. I made at least 8 calls with voice messages, for 3 days without any luck.
I was lucky the 4th day when I got call from the case manager, but he was as rude as one could be, and was firm to the point that the Non covered charge is mandatory and is mentioned somewhere in the 30 pages contract which was sent to me to sign when I purchased the warranty. I asked what was the non covered charged for and he explained that to replace the parts, if the technician need to do anything, that charge is not covered. Really??? If you need to do anything to replace a part, that should be part of the repair work. Even if it isn't, I was never ever told or made aware that there is any charges other than the service fee.
These guys are the biggest frauds in the market. I am not sure how they are allowed to operate in the market. I didn't give too much attention to the bad review when I was buying the warranty. Now I am repenting. If you expect anything to break and might need repair, DO NOT GO with this company. They will rip you apart. Don't fall in the trap of the "peace of the mind" lecture. They will make your life hell once you raise a claim. BEWARE. FRAUD COMPANY.

Apparently the motor was not working, I was given a choice either accept a buyout or speak with a case manager, after calling & speaking with a representative my understanding was that if I didn’t accept the buyout I would need to speak with case manager & if I did not accept the case manager offer I was out of luck, rep would not tell me what options the case manager would offer so my understanding was accept buyout, or too bad for me. Not happy with outcome, a new dryer cost more than what was offered & since I had to accept or reject buyout before speaking with Case Manager I had to accept buyout against my better judgment. I don’t understand why they say they will fix or replace, but from my understand that’s not the case.

Water heater has cold water. Tech came out and gave me an assessment but my issue has not been fixed. The air vent that pushes the carbon monoxide out of the system is not communicating with the flame plate that is asking for hot water. He said he was ordering the part but have not heard anything since.

Worst service and thinking of cancelling the service. Too much headache to handle with you. Was on hold for 37 minutes yesterday and the technician is calling and asking for 65$ payment online..Even before they visit the property.. FYI....I am real estate broker and have referred couple clients...

So my AC was repaired within a few short hours of the call. Thank you Choice Home Warranty and Air Right, LLC. Filed claim online and immediately received a call notifying me of the contractor and then I received a call from the contractor letting me know exactly what time he would be here. Great service.

Air Conditioner Issues. You sent CARTER MECHANICAL to us and I/we are GRATEFUL. In fact, we decided to contract with them now to do our annual Fall checkup on Air and Furnace appliances. This is the second issue we've had with claims. The first was a plumbing issue with a Very Fine Technician. Choice Warranty is doing well for us and we're thankful as all get out. We're 81 and Donna is 78. We're not what we were and are very thankful when we're treated with honesty, transparency, and integrity. Clothes Dryer, No Heat to dry clothes, Tech was not very informative as to the diagnosis. I was dissatisfied with your settlement price of 299.00 since the least expensive Clothes Dryer on the market sells for upwards of $600.00 for a basic Dryer, whereas my current Dryer was above average in price.

The Air Conditioning unit at my house stopped working. The service technician was professional and friendly, he took the time to explain the issue and quickly resolved the problem. On the downside I had to wait the four hour window for the technician to arrive.

HVAC out of service 23 days so far. My air conditioning stopped working on 5/25. One, non-participating, HVAC company was dispatched to my home. The fan was replaced. A week later the unit stopped cooling. The same, non-participating, HVAC company was dispatched. They could not come to terms with the way choice does business and politely told me they couldn’t repair the unit. To this date my unit remains out of service. My previous entry received an incorrect response from Choice indicating the problem has been resolved... it hasn’t.

Since CHW was unable to find a company to repair my Air Conditioner System in a week, which I feel was more than ample time for Southeast Alabama; I contacted a company on my own, who had as latest as April 2020 performed maintenance for CHW. (P&P Heating & Cooling) were at my house and had my system troubleshot and repaired in under 2 hours. Less time than it would have taken to fill out the online paperwork for reimbursement. So my rating for the service I received from the technician and the company was Excellent!

I was told by CHW to get my own service contractor because you could not supply one. So I contracted MOURAR’S Heating & Cooling inc. in my home town. They fixed the problem. Total cost $ 280.00. Paid by check. When they try to submit the Reclaim Info you ask for a contract no. You told me my ## were my Policy & Claim no’s that you sent me. Please correct this problem ASAP. Very Dissatisfied with your Co.

Washer repair. The part that I did not like is that I was allowed to file a claim only online, not on phone because of covid19. Most of the business are open now, so could have been the customer service. The technician was on time and did a very good job.

I made a claim for the A/C unit not working. The tech indicated that the condenser unit was not maintained. I sent my case mgr the billing statement. Case mgr stated that she needed an explanation of the statement. Within 2 days, I had my A/C company email case meg and myself what was done, however, it is unknown it the case mgr ever received or considered the document as the emails, 8 phone calls, and the 6 messages left on voice mail in a 6 day period, including a weekend, have been ignored. I was also unable to contact anyone on the public number. The hold time was over an hr for each of the 5 calls I had made. Bottom line, customer service is terrible for such a big company.

This repairman was very nice, friendly, & personable! He was right on time & did a good job of fixing my toilet for me! I felt like I had done the right thing to use Choice for my repairs, when I had no long wait reaching someone to set up a company to do my repairs, & the company sent an email telling me their name & the time they would be here. No problem with anything!

Leaking pipe. When Bill arrived he spotted the water in our crawl space however when he went down to check it out he encountered a massive ant bed. We needed to rescheduled his appointment and contact a exterminator. Two days later Bill returned and finished in record time. I was very happy with his service.

Updated on 6/18/2020: Flexi-Air came this evening. He had excellent communication with me prior to the appointment and during. We are still waiting for CHW to approve his submitted repairs, but he was very professional and very reasonable as well. He said he would just text or call me when he gets an approval from CHW and come back again tomorrow. This is rather inconvenient, but worth it!
Original Review: The first person, a man I spoke to, spoke so fast I could barely understand him and had to have him repeat most everything to me! He kept cutting me off and then, before I could even talk about my 2nd problem, he hung up! The second Person, a gal was very nice and spoke clearly, providing all the information that I had already told the man about...frustrating that I couldn’t get it done with one call!???

I was impressed with the promptness of the rekeying of my locks. I closed on my house on a Thursday, and Choice Home Warranty had a technician scheduled to come on Monday. I would definitely recommend Choice Home Warranty to my family and friends.

Quick service, good job. Tech was very pleasant and knew his job. Tech was on time and explained what was wrong with my unit. He had it fixed in a reasonable time, and showed me the parts he changed, and he added freon to the system and was done.

Leaking Part in Refrigerator. It ended up that I had to get a replacement part but the cost of the part and service was more than allowed. I was given the option to accept a cash payment in lieu of a replacement since the part was discontinued. I was not happy with the price that was given because it was less than 1/3 of the cost of a new refrigerator. I declined and went to negotiation. I was given an extra $200 and accepted that even though the cost of the refrigerator was still at least 2/3rds more. I am still happy with the service which is great. I usually get a repair man out within two days. That is great!! I did purchase the warranty for 5 years so I am still happy with what I have.

The technician (Malcolm) was very professional and courteous. He diagnosed the issue correctly, completed the repair very quickly and made sure the dryer was working correctly. He explained the problem and what he was doing to repair it. Overall this experience was fantastic and I would definitely recommend Choice Home Warranty to friends and family for the great value and prompt service.

Garage door opener. It was hard to connect with Choice. Email told me to phone; phone told me to go to email. Email eventually connected. Why is COVID a reason for no phone contacts? The technician was on time and worked quickly and effectively. But he, too, had problems connecting with Choice.

After a stretch of 90 degree days with no air conditioning CHW provided a good contractor who repaired my A/C and made me a hero to my family. Thank you. Unfortunately, the initial contractor assigned to the claim was subpar. CHW replaced the original contractor with no hassle and no additional fee/cost. Win/Win.

Customer Service of A Plumber In 1 Hour Company was very professional. I didn't realize when I took out this coverage that I would have to pay for both, service call and $450 for equipment. I did not expect to come out of pocket of over $500. It is already difficult being without hot water for days, and having to come out of pocket for unexpected fees didn't help the matter.

My contractor came out, looked at water heater, said damage of leakage was bad and needed replaced. He submitted paperwork and Choice approved it within an hour. That was fast... thanks Choice. Clothes dryer making loud noise. Appliance Professional called and made an appointment. The repairman came out and checked the dryer and told me he had to order a part. It took 5 days to get the part. He came back, installed the part and the dryer has been working great since. Great Job.

I was very pleased with service. I was on the fence about another company, but immediately received a call and even given a promotion while on the phone with the service provider, which helped make my decision there. I was also told that my area was a high service area and was eligible for the VIP account. When I stated that I could not afford the full package for that at this time, I was worked with to do it over three months, which was awesome and really helped sell me on it.

Perry Air Conditioners was very professional and prompt and efficient. After almost two weeks of not being able to find a contractor to due warranty work. The first contractor never showed up for the appointment and when I called to find out where they were they claimed they did not do home warranty work.

Our repair person, Omar, arrived in a timely manner. He ordered a part, had it delivered the same day, and returned that afternoon to complete the repair. My only criticism was with how long it took for the repair to be scheduled. We had to wait a full week for a technician to arrive.

Our house generator was not covered but everyone was nice about it. Especially the technician. I would totally recommend you. Living in the country, and with hurricane season it is necessary. I have contacted the Generac co instead. By the way the tech's name was Bob. It is nice to have such courteous friendly service.

AC repair. The guys were fast but thorough. They listened very well to the customer to find out what was wrong then they checked out the equipment and repaired the issue. They explained what was wrong and what they did to fix it, took the payment and left.

I will never do business with this company. Your rep in NJ was not informative nor knowledgeable or upfront with the pricing and billing. When I stated I will order online he then came back and stated that he can give me a discount of 42.50 for the policy. It had taken me an hour to get ahold of a physical person to have the policy cancelled and my money returned. I will never recommended this company to anyone nor will I use this company!!

Although the repair was little bit delayed due to CHW getting second opinion, however second Vender, Cross Seasons Air conditioning and Heating Technician did a good job to repair air conditioning in timely manner. Customer service folks were responsive and helpful to schedule service with their vendors.

Air conditioning problem. My main problem was your lack of return call, I called left a message for call back. After 3 days I called again. I was told, "Sorry we missed you" even though they had assigned a number to it. The service people were great, thought it was fixed, called them the next morning & they came back. Problem is fixed.

This was the second trip they made out. The first one, the technician replaced a few small parts (according to him) and added coolant. I never received a copy of the work order. He said they would mail it. I'm still waiting 3 weeks later. It worked for 3 days, then the original problem returned. Another phone call, another service charge, and the technician who came out this time repaired the problem the first one left. Works great now.

I pay for a warranty service and when something goes wrong I pay my deductible and your company makes up an excuse that my claim isn't covered. All your little sections and subsections aren't given to use when we sign up. You basically get people in by saying "you file a claim and we fix it." I paid 85 dollars for nothing. The air conditioning unit I have is three years old and now is good and you don't want to fix it or replace it. You still haven't fixed my washing machine even tho I have given you all the info that is needed to prove the machine broke due to no wrongdoing on my part. No one has called me back. It feel like your company doesn't care.

Stay away from this company. Terrible customer service. After trying for 3 days to get help in AC repair I called to cancel my contract which I paid a year in advance and only had a month and was told I could cancel if not satisfied with no mention of penalty. Rep was very rude and told me I would only get back a portion of my money and hung up on me. Stay away from this company.

It took over a week for the problem to be fixed. Terrible since it's 100 degrees every day. The first people that were supposed to come out didn't show up on 3 different appointments. The last ones that came out were great. I know it's not Choice's fault but it's still frustrating.

He was friendly. He knew what problem was immediately. He efficiently took care of it. He practiced social distancing. It took less than an hour to fix. Only what needed to be replaced was replaced. Contact with headquarters to report problem and fix was done in less than 2 minutes.

Washer Repair. The repairman was pleasant and knowledgeable, and my washing machine is back up and running. He fixed the on-going issue with my Maytag and hopefully I won't need a repair for a year or two - but I have pets and the filter gets clogged. Unfortunately, the filter is located in a place that needs a repairman.

I pay a great deal for the home warranty and on other systems, you all are great in terms of coverage. However, AC systems are always the least covered of all. I did not mind when the monthly fee was some thirty some dollars and the technician fee was $45 but now at forty some a month and $60, I would expect more from the coverage.

Of all the claim that I did, I spent more than enough out of pocket especially my AC, the technician broke my AC and pointed out it’s my fault and the choice warranty didn’t cover. I hired another AC tech my with my own expense and spent a lot because the warranty technician mess it up.

AC makes noise. He might be the greatest AC tech in Houston but I can only rate for my experience. He came. Heard the noise the first time. Told me to try a remedy. It didn't work. Came a second time. Asked my wife if he could out in a P trap for $200 if the insurance didn't cover it. I get a generic email from Choice that there was nothing wrong with my AC. Honestly, I'm about to change insurance companies. I threw away $45 and for what?

Light fixture. The tech was outstanding!!!! Very informative and helpful. CHW deemed they would not fix what was broken. I am disappointed especially after being with them more than 6 years and have a few years where I did not file anything!!

I wanted to identify that the repair specialist (Scott - Advanced Plumbing) you sent to our home to repair our Hot Water heater and fix the leaking was just fantastic! He quickly diagnosed the issue, he found a few items needing attention and he worked quickly to eliminate the water leaks and return the plumbing system to a normal status. Scott was very professional, pleasant and informative - we want Scott again if we ever get another plumbing issue!

We declined a buy out for our refrigerator and we were told that the assigned person would call us within 2-4 hours. It has been 3 days and several emails and no one has called or emailed yet. We have been without a refrigerator for over a week now. Very dissatisfied customer.

My washer has not been working properly all year. Choice has sent out at least 4 repairman. The last one that came said it could not be fixed and he would recommend to choice that it needed to be replaced. That was on 6/11. I have been calling mostly waiting on hold since then to get something done. I am 65 years old and not able to go to a laundromat. I have 2 houses covered with choice and have had terrible customer service. I had to pay over 300 dollars to get my AC fixed because your repairman did not show up and it is hot in Texas.

Great response and quick service. My wife mentioned the repairman was in and out in a jiffy that the $85 payment should have been less. I hope you can consider lowering the copay to $50. I would bet that $25 is even more reasonable???? Don’t you think?

Our technician was on time, professional, efficient and methodical in his diagnosis and subsequent repair of our freezer. Being stuck at home with the children, a working freezer was a top priority and he quickly relieved the stress of our food defrosting and going to waste. He was awesome!

Tech was polite. Said he couldn’t put Freon in without permission and units needed to be cleaned. Not in my contract. Feel like I was mislead with your company. I had asked the sales person lots of questions. Not sure I would recommend your company.
