    This is my first call since joining. We’re prompt in responding to the claim and contractor was notified immediately. However the contractor’s appointment was scheduled only 4 days later which to me was somewhat disappointing. The part to fix was not available and hence Choice decided to pay cash for current value which was not a lot since the appliance was over 10 yrs old and I had to pay a deductible.     Water heater was leaking water from the top of the appliance. I called in to Choice Home Warranty and I had Jason from Benett Plumbing out. He called the same day. Choice filed the request and was here the next day at 08:00am. He replaced the pipe and the leak was stopped. We did not need a replacement water heater that saved both of us money.     Understandably there are issues hindering immediate responses, however companies wishing to stay in business and complaining about the work shorting should step up and do better. There is work to be done and now all of a sudden no one is available to come to my neighborhood to do the work. I think CHW should reconsider some of the companies they deal with.

    Aloha, I have requested on May 22, 2020 to have someone to repair my defective garage door and got the order number from a agent, he told me that a technician will call me the next day, and nobody called me, until I got no more Patience for waiting and called the service department again on June 8, 2020, asked to get technician asap, because my garage door could not open and get my cars out, and I have to go to the doctor.

His name is Dave **, a great professional guy, knowledgeable about the problems and have fixed the entire door, replaced new parts, lubricated, adjusted the system and tested. I'm very happy about his work, CHW should keep this company to perform this kind of work. The only question I have is, why did it take more than 2 weeks to get someone to fix.     Tech did not remove and replace the broken Microwave system over the range. Spent 3 days waiting for a resolution manager to contact us. We still had to initiate the call. Still NO microwave and Choice HW has NOT told me who has to do the install. Pitiful! Oh yeah, I paid a $65.00 service fee for the tech to tell me the thing was broken, which I knew. The least they could have done was TAKE IT OUT. NOW I WILL HAVE TO PAY INSTALL COST WHICH IS IN THE CONTRACT AS I READ IT.

    We reached out to this company when looking for a home warranty company for our new home. We ended up going with another company but we continue to get calls from this company daily. It is excessive to the point of getting 5+ calls a day. If I block the number a new one calls. I've told all of the agents to stop calling we went with a different company. All they do is hang up on us. I tried to do the automated side and say we were not interested and the same thing, it just hangs up. I would not recommend this company just based off of this principle.

    Read this before waste your money with that scam company! I became a member 3 years ago just to wrongly think that I was buying a peace of mind regarding home repairs even though my AC, heater and appliances are new or fairly new. During those 3 years I only have literally couple of minor claims that without the membership they will cost me probably $200 or $300 maximum each, instead of that they costed me like $70 each for service call so I “saved” around $125 to $275 each time but I paid about $500 per year for 3 years plus around $140 in couple service calls = $1,640 more or less. About a year ago my new tankless heater stopped working so I called for service and they declined because small letter said they don’t cover tankless heater so I said to myself it’s my fault for not reading carefully. Thanks God it was not the heater but it was a broken breaker.

    Now my outside AC unit Stopped working and I called again, this was my first and only “major claim”. Base on AC companies it was better replace it than fix it and the estimate was about $1,500. Choice Home Warranty declined because the leaks in refrigeration system are caused by rust and/or corrosion. I called and paid for 2 more companies to estimate, they all agreed that CHW was trying to get away without paying and the reason of the decline wasn’t 100% true plus rust and corrosion in outside AC unit is totally normal specially in Florida. They said I have the right to talk to a lawyer and do this and that but I honestly don’t have the time nor the enthusiasm to deal with this kind of legal scammers so I called company to settle with them and get some credit for the new unit.

    They offered me $200 if I sign a form where I give up the right to review the company and post this comments. I realized what kind of people I was dealing with and my silence cost way more than $200 so I denied to take the money and sign the form. Instead I canceled the membership and I’m taking the time to write this review hoping to save others from what happened to me. I wish I’ve read something like this before buying the membership.

    I have had Choice warranty for more than a year and the first time I called them was about give or take a week ago regarding my air conditioning system. After putting in my claim, I was called at 9 am on Father's day that someone from Judd's heating and Air would be at my home anywhere between 7 am to 11 am. By 11:30 I hadn't heard from anyone so I called the company and was directed to leave a message which I did. I then called Choice and spoke with Jason who put me on hold to call the technician, he returned to the line and informed me that the tech had scheduling problems and would contact me within the hour.

    I waited an hour and a half and when I didn't receive a call, I called them at which time the answer machine was full so couldn't leave a message. I then called Choice when again I spoke with Jason and explained the situation at which he put me on hold and called the tech, he returned to the phone and informed me that the tech said they did not know when or if they would get to me, at this point my Father's Day was messed up. Jason said he would asked to have this company removed from there list of vendors. He referred a company by the name of Hot spot. They came out on Monday and diagnosed the problem. My claim was denied.

    When I bought this warranty I told the salesperson I wanted something primarily cover the large items in my home like A/C and Heating. When you read the contract if you are not an HVAC you would not realized that they basically cover very, very little to do with your A/C system. This is my first time using them and most likely will be my last time. I have several accounts with this company and have made referrals but not sure about the future. I tried to send a letter of complain but was given incorrect email address and the letter kept bouncing back. This address was info@choicewarranty.com. I am truly disappointed and highly upset about my claim, after reading All the things that were not included regarding the A/C in the midst of all the verbiage it said damper. Not motorized damper as the tech said we need or motor board. Just that one word Damper. So thank you Choice Warranty for your service.

Problem he installed a Cambridge opener in replacement of my Genie opener which in turn would not work with my Genie keypad on my garage. The CHW would not cover the keypad. The keypad was brand new.     This is the first time we used our warranty from Choice Home Warranty. Due to the COVID pandemic and your inability to get a plumber to fix our issue, we chose the reimbursement option. I had a horrible experience. When I initially contacted you, you required that I get a qualified company to repair, what we thought was a water heater problem. After the technician from Dead River Propane came to diagnose the problem, he told us that it was a boiler valve issue. It is the valve that allows the boiler heated water to flow into the holding tank.

    I explained to Dead River that you required a work order number with the diagnosis before the claim can be processed. The company reluctantly went to the claims website and tried to put in their work order number and it was not accepted. I called your customer service department again for the third or fourth time, I lost count. They told me that the work order number was the claim number assigned to my claim. I contacted Dead River and they were excellent. They went to your claims website, entered the work order number and attached the invoice with the diagnosis of the issue.

    Well, this wasn't good enough for you. I received an email, indicating that you needed to know if it was a repair for the water heater or the boiler. I told the customer service person prior to this email that it was a repair for the boiler. I called customer service AGAIN and of course had to wait to be contacted to a claims rep. I opted to have you call me back. I received a call from a claims rep who I couldn't understand. I believe she was from India. Her English was horrible. I tried to explain the issue again, and she argued with me. Then a dog was barking in the background so I couldn't really hear her. Then to add insult to injury, I was disconnected!

    I haven't called since this horrible interaction. I will call Dead River again and ask them to specifically indicate that the repair was to the boiler. I'm seriously considering cancelling my account with Choice. At this point, I certainly would NOT recommend your company to anyone. Sorry for this scathing review but you asked for honesty.

    Technician was great. Watt Up Electrical LLC did what he could and I will probably continue with him. But Choice Warranty sucks. You refuse to approve a claim that seems legitimate. It would seem any claim to repair a light fixture would be refused, because only two things can go wrong, burnt out bulb or burnt out ballasts. You would not and should not replace bulbs but a ballast is not something that goes out regularly. (First time in 32 years). That seems like something Choice Warranty should cover and when I bought the coverage would expect to cover. This is the second claim that Choice has not covered for us.

    It seems I am having to appeal anything I need done, this situation I was denied within 20 mins of the tech leaving my home. Which I find very hard to believe that a proper fair evaluation to determine coverage was completed.     My built-in microwave parts were more expensive than the microwave's value so Choice opted to cut me a check to obtain a new microwave. The amount will allow me to purchase a basic microwave and while this was very much appreciated, I was left with having to figure out a contractor to take off the built-in metal frame around the microwave and pull out the old unit to replace it with the new one.     ON Monday morning my wife and I awoke to a warmer than usual house. After a little minor self diagnosis, I determined that there was definitely a problem with the central AC unit. My first call was to CHW. There was little to no wait time. The representatives was very thorough and sensitive to my needs. Within an hour or so my claim was processed and an email sent to me. About an hour or so later, I received an email and a phone call from a provider and an appointment was set up for the next day.     Submitted claim about cooktop not heating properly and received response rather quickly. They sent a technician to look at it within few days. I then received notification (via email) that the cooktop would cost too much to repair so I was offered an amount to purchase one on my own. Sadly, the amount is no where close to replace the exact type of system I have, with downdraft exhaust, and I have been unable to find one "without" exhaust in price range so far.     I am a highly disappointed customer today with Choice Home Warranty. The website states they offer fast and reliable solutions - not the case, dedicated team of two or three representatives - not the case (dealt with 21 - - yes, 21 different people and not one a manager), and overall truly do not care about the value of their customers - only saving money which was evident in my situation. I had a hot water tank that needed replaced and the vendor was on top of it and ready to replace.

    CHW made the job/inconvenience of not having hot water extend way longer than it should of, cost me money still, and a lot of time dealing with a customer service team that gave "auto" replies to emails. This along with requesting to speak with management/supervision and being hung up on, still not getting a call from management, and all the communication came from the vendor who also was beyond disappointed at the treatment that was received from Choice. I am still awaiting a call to discuss this and hope that policies can change for them.

    I was a bit disappointed with the outcome of the issue with my dryer. The gentleman who helped me, Marc ** was very nice so no issue with him personally, it just doesn't seem right that you deemed to replace my dryer but would only give me half the cost of a new one citing #16 in contract but #9 says you are responsible for replacement of similar features. He also said it would take up to 30 days to receive payment, so in that time frame I have to make other arrangements to dry my clothes and pay out of pocket. Seems wrong in this day and age of technology it would take that long, didn't take long for ya'll to charge my credit card for the purchase of the warranty contract.

    HVAC Repair. I'm overall very disappointed with CHW. It took 4 days to get a service tech to my home and only after I called to escalate the ticket did this happen. I took 3 additional days to get a response from CHW only to learn you would cover less than 25% of the total repair cost, should I really be paying over 4 grand with a warranty in place. I'm a veteran with 2 kids and 2 jobs, I purchased the warranty so I would be protected from that. When I appealed this determination I was never was contacted by the case manager even after countless calls, messages, and an email. I then repeatedly spent more of my time on the phone trying to get a manager to help me. Finally I got a manager who was completely inflexible and had no interest in assisting me. Further more, I received an email that CHW was changing the service tech company who thus far is the only person who appears to be doing their job.

    We then spent more time getting my tech reattached to the claim so he could finish the job. It has been over 2 weeks and I still have not AC at this property, a property that has a senior citizen living in it in summer heat I would like to add. If CHW has any interest in keeping me as a customer and not filling out every negative review I can including with the BBB they will if they have not already expedite getting the necessary part to the repair tech East Coast Comfort Solutions ASAP. I have already paid the technician and the only thing holding up this repair at this time is CHW.
