    Technician stayed no longer than 30 minutes put 1 pound and a half of cooling system. It’s cool but not cold so I’ll wait a day or so to make sure it’s fixed. Will call back if it’s not fixed. Technician was really worried about getting stuck in the rain.

    Poor service from your company. Always denies claim. Rude customer service rep. System denied due to being dirty. Tube was collapsed. Not covered. But says it is covered in your papers. Would not recommend your service to any one.

    Hello, I have been a customer with Choice Home Warranty since Jan 2020 and my experience with CHW is not at all pleasant. The purpose of taking the Home warranty is to get the items repaired or replaced in case of any issues but CHW doesn't really help out customers in repairing or replacing the unit. As my refrigerator was not cooling enough, I lodged a complaint in June 2020. CHW just looks for reasons to deny the claim and don't honor the contract. We had refrigerator in a Big Kitchen with clean area and the claim has been denied for following reason because dust is there behind the refrigerator even though the area was clean. Pl see below CHW Comments:

    "It has been determined that the refrigerator is not cooling properly due to a faulty compressor. The unit was found with restricted airflow as a result of dirt and debris build up in the condenser. This has caused improper operation and overheating which has caused an internal failure of the compressor." As you can see based on dirt they have denied the claim that compressor has gone bad and didn't repair or replace it. There was no airflow restriction. CHW is just looking for reasons to deny the claim. My sincere suggestion will be to stay away from Choice Home Warranty else I am sure you may also end up in same situation of mental agony & stress. CHW may be ok for minor repairs of plumbing etc. but not at all good for appliances repair/replacement. Thanks.

    Choice Home Warranty is a scam. They do not cover anything. We had to pay out of pocket for what we would call a mechanical failure but because we didn’t have the maintenance records from the NEW HOUSE we moved into they refused to replace our outside AC unit. I will be cancelling our service and hope we get our money back for this waste of time and money. This is just a scam and they will find any way around not replacing anything.

    Mr. ** from TWO worked on restoring power to my electrical outlets. I was not able to use the upstairs outlets. Mr. ** explained that I was using too many electrical items at the same time. Mr. ** went to the breaker switch box and flip the power back on and my outlets was in full use. It was strange as I had done that already. The next time I will flip the switch several times before calling you guys out again. The money waste but I guess I needed it necessary information as a reminder.

    Had this for over a year, never had to use it. Finally did and they found every excuse in the book not to pay out. They denied the claim saying that the provider said there were cracked and missing shingles on my home. I talked to the provider -- They showed me EXACTLY what they submitted. There was NOTHING about Cracked OR missing shingles. They did mention that since the code for the roof had changed since I bought the place that the roof was no longer in code, and needed upgraded. So then Choice stated the roof wasn't up to code.

    Claim Denied, The provider reached out AGAIN letting them know that was only because the code had changed in the last THREE MONTHS, and it was a recommendation. Choice just used that to justify not paying. They stopped calling me back till AFTER I was charged for their "** service/product" and then say they can't offer a refund for the last month that I've been waiting and working on this. I had told them when I originally filled out the claim that if they wouldn't help fix it I wasn't going to continue to have their service. I do NOT recommend them for anything! DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE! I feel I totally got ripped off from these "people" and do not recommend them to anyone.

    Three days with no A/C in Las Vegas. Technician came within one day, but reply from Choice was sporadic. Technician suggested Homeowner call Choice. Choice claimed they were waiting for reply from technician. Homeowner communicated this to technician, he called Choice again. Claim finally approved for replacement - but email from Choice indicates $900 will be due. Homeowner approved, but now parts can be ordered and it will be another day without A/C. Temperature in living quarters reaches 90 degrees. Outside temp is 110 degrees.

    The first man I spoke to was very helpful, spoke slowly and gave me the best price possible. I called back within a few min to ask about the technician's price. I wanted to know if it was still 45.00. The man who answered this time, I thought was possibly the same person, but spoke extremely fast and rushed me off the phone saying yes, everything's the same.     I have taken the home warranty from Choice for 5 years. I haven't used it in the first few years but then my dishwasher started leaking. I contacted the choice home warranty and they scheduled the appointment with the technician. The technician canceled the appointment without informing me at the last moment. After rescheduling he told me that the drainage pump needs to be replaced and he ordered it which will arrive directly at my home. The pump hasn't arrived after a month and the dishwasher is not yet fixed after one and half months. It's totally a waste of my money. Please don't take home warranty with choice. If I have to give a negative star then I will.

    My a/c was not keeping up with the temperature so the house was at 83 degrees. I called on Father’s Day and by Monday I was on my way to having it fixed. Tuesday at 8am the plumber was here and by 9:30am my house was at 75 degrees and holding. I only had to pay the initial amount that I contracted and voila I have air conditioning.     I requested service on my dishwasher, the first tech to show was Jerry **, who did not arrive per the schedule. He said that there was nothing wrong with the appliance but did indicate that if I had further problems that the $60.00 I paid him would be good for 30 days. The next day the same situation presented, not draining. I called him 5 times over the course of 2 weeks, no reply. I submitted a second claim and the Tech indicated 3 separate issues with the DW. Again another $60.00 was paid and a replacement was the most effective solution. CW offered $179.00. I am not a plumber or own a truck.

    When I did not agree to the amount I was issued a "account manager" Marc. His proposal was $300.00, I am already out of pocket $120.00. He maxed his offer at $350.00. The replacement cost is over $550.00. When I purchased this warranty I was assured that replacement was a final option regardless of the age of the appliance. By the time I hire a plumber and purchase a new DW I will be nearly $1,000.00 in the hole. Does this sound like a plan to you? I would be happy to hear from you. Dave **

    It took almost 3 weeks to get a technician to my home to assess issue with my AC. Numerous appointments made with 5 hour appt window and then no show by the technician.. All-in-all, 20 hours of waiting for somebody who never showed up and didn't even bother to call. When you live in NM in the desert and it's 100 degrees, 3 weeks is a VERY LONG TIME. I spoke with several people from Choice Warranty Customer servicer as well as emails galore that were responded to with what I assume to be some sort of a robotic response system. This is not even close to the service or experience I expected with Choice Warranty.

    This is the second time I've called in to start a claim with Choice Home Warranty. The first was on a cooktop that cost $979 on sale at Lowe's. Their tech diagnosed 2 parts bad at a cost of slightly over $800. Choice came back and said they wanted to replace the cooktop and not repair it because of high cost of the parts. Their offer was $229! Can you believe they offer to replace a 18 month old cooktop that cost me $979 new? We told them to keep their offer!

    Then on May 30th I called them for an upstairs central ac that was not cooling, They sent out a tech 3 times that week and finally decided it was the evaporator coil. Then we spent the next week with the home warranty and the tech arguing whether just a coil was needed or a whole air handler. Then part of the next week they said I had not agreed to pay the extra charges which I was never asked to do. And now for over a week they say a part cannot be found due to Covid19 delays. This is not true because I found 16 air handlers in the Dallas Ft. Worth area that will fit my system. They have one excuse after another and it seems they want the customer to fire them in order to not pay for the claim. I have had no ac upstairs in 2 bedrooms for over 3 weeks now and they are fired. I will attempt to get my premium back and the $75 deductible I had to pay. Worst home warranty company ever.

    Initially I was not going to renew my contract because twice they sent someone to fix my refrigerator and it was not fixed. It had been leaking water under the vegetable storage trays and freezing it. However, they did repair our 3 ton A/C unit although I had a copay. Our other unit is leaking water onto our guest side bathroom ceiling. I am not happy that I was told I would have to wait until Sept 2nd to address it. This is a new repair.

    Updated on 07/04/2020: The people at Choice Home Warranty have done nothing but lie and make up ludicrous myths throughout the life of this claim. Robin ** was one of the worst and then felt she should be commended when she actually did get something, or what she thought was something, accomplished. I have never been treated this way as a customer in my entire life and I have made it my goal to spend the remainder of July and August telling everyone in person and through social media about the absolute circus I was put through.     Original Review: This has been a living nightmare. My ac compressor went out. It’s taken three weeks in the heat and humidity of the Chicago summer to get them to get the vendor out and to approve that it was normal wear and tear. Now I have been waiting for a week for the parts to “come in”. In spite of the fact that their chosen vendor has told me he has the necessary parts available right now. It just may be $100 or $200 more than the parts they’ve ordered. Their response has been an unhelpful shrug of their shoulders every time I call. I was assured the parts would be here by yesterday or today and now, here I sit, the vendor having just told me they’ve heard nothing.

    This has been a nightmare. I have three kids, we’re trapped in or around the house and there seems to be no concentrated effort to make anything happen in any sort of timely fashion. You’re held hostage to their timeline and their products when their own vendors admit that they could already be done with the job. If you’re looking to sweat your tail off and engage in exercises in futility this is the way to go!

    On Sunday 8-21-20, I made a claim for A/C not cooling. After 24 hours, I was advised a technician could not be found by CHW. I was sent a link on process to find my own technician. Luckily, I am a preferred customer with Airtron in Indianapolis. They responded within 3 hours. THEN...I pulled up the form I had to fill out for the diagnosis part of the process! I had to research the A/C unit! I had to take the pictures and download them! I had to fill out a very tedious form with technical information about the unit! Luckily the Airtron technician assisted. Then I discovered the diagnosis had to be sent to your technical team and approved.

    The technician emailed me the diagnosis and the estimate, which I also downloaded and sent to you. And that I would hear back within 15 minutes to 3 hours! When I didn't hear back, I called customer service and was told the technical team was still reviewing. That I would get an email with their decision. As of 9AM this morning, no email. So I sent a message on your web site and called customer service. Within minutes, I received a call back and an email that the service was approved and a check will be issued. That's the good news.

    Because the technician was here, I decided to have him make the repair. I have to tell you, the process the customer has to go through when YOU can't find a technician, is very time consuming, tedious and disappointing. There has to be a better way! I spent several hours doing what I consider the company's job. Almost forgot, When Airtron told me they won't work with home warranty companies, now I know why. Your form calls for them to complete it. I had to call CHW customer service back to tell them that and they said, "Oh you can fill it out and submit it." That was not on the site's instructions either. I hope if I ever have to file a claim again, I don't have to go through finding my own technician.

    CSRs seem to have no idea how to resolve any problems. I have been constantly put on hold or told I will need to wait for a call back, which never comes. I was asked to pay $450 for “uncovered” charges on a claim, but when I asked for an invoice, I was told that information wasn’t available without first declining charges then having a supervisor explain them to me. Still waiting on the call back on day 3 without AC. WAS also told “ordering” a part would take 3-5 business days, bringing my total wait time to a week or more.     I am a former customer of American Home Shield. I saw an advertisement for Choice Warranty and called in for additional information. I signed up because the savings with 95% of the same coverage is almost 50%. The only recommendation - allow other payment options as opposed to having to pay the full year up front. I understand trying to save on administrative costs, but paying online is an option that would work. I would have preferred to pay 1/2 of the annual premium and pay the remaining in monthly installments online. Since that was not offered, I paid the entire annual premium.     It is disappointing and unfair to pay a service call and be denied repair by CHW because of a "fine print" exclusion on a complicated AC product. In addition, the process to reach decisions takes far to long considering it is summer and these claims involve refrigeration. Once you deny, the customer has to start all over to choose a technician and pay another service call. Bottom line is I've paid you on two claims $45 each time only to discover you won't fix it. Then, I pay another technician another service call for the same issue.

    Since Choice was having difficulty locating an HVAC technician to come to my home, I opted to try to find one on my own. I was informed that I would need an entire HVAC system replacement by 3 different companies. All of the companies that came out said exactly the same thing - they don't work with warranty companies because of the level of details wanted and the systems were not user-friendly and for all the work the customer get very little compensation.     My air conditioner unit stopped working the day I moved in, beginning of May, even though I had an inspection. After spending most of the day on hold I finally spoke with a CSR. After a few days they sent a technician out. He worked on it but didn't fix it. I called back and spent long times on hold again. After a week or two they sent another technician out. This guy didn't fix it either. I spent the entire summer without air conditioning, calling multiple times and spending hours on hold. They finally repaired my air conditioner sometime in August. Then stainless steel dishwasher stopped working. They offered me $200 to replace that. I didn't accept that offer and they eventually agreed to pay $250. I'm not sure where you can get a decent dishwasher for $250 but that's what I got for it.

    That winter my central heat stopped working. I spent $65 to have a tech sent out to tell me that it was due to storm damage. He claimed it looked like it had been struck by lightning. I contacted my insurance company who said there was no storm damage. AFter spending months without heat I finally hired someone to repair it. It only cost me $300 to have someone repair it.

    This company is a scam. When my policy is about to expire they call me multiple times to try to convince me to renew my policy. I ask them to take me of of their call list but they never do. I still get multiple calls from them trying to offer me a "deal" on my next years coverage. I would rather sleep in a box on the streets of New Orleans in the dead of winter than to give CHW one dollar of my money. I wouldn't renew this policy if I received lifetime of coverage for free. I'm not even sure how these people sleep at night taking advantage of hard working people with real jobs.

    This is the 2nd policy I've set up with Choice. Submitting claims is always a breeze and the reason I called back for the 2nd policy. The sales team is way too pushy and it doesn't seem right that you aren't able to read the full policy in its entirety before making the payment. I realize they are probably paid on a commission, but high-pressure sales tactics are a little out-dated. I'm very disappointed in the warranty companies in general as most contractors are not willing to work with them as a whole because the warranty companies try to either send cheap replacement parts and or argue with the contractors about quality of said products, the technicians in the field know better than a pencil pusher behind a desk as to what is needed for a proper repair, I ended up troubleshooting and repairing the problem myself, 40$ part v.s. the headache of waiting for the warranty company to provide a technician in 3 to 4 days (if they could find 1 to work with them) and an 80$ service call charge.

    I’ve had CHW for two years now and realize they are only good when there’s a minor issue. I am currently having issues with my AC, it won’t stop running and they need to replace a part on it, well, it has been almost 3 weeks and they keep giving us deceiving information as to when it will be fixed because they are waiting on the part which they had told me will be here within 3 business days. On top of that I have to pay $300 out of pocket when I have a total plan, no point on that clearly.

    They also still owe us a $375 check which they mailed to the wrong address and now I have to wait 90 days for them to issue a new check or pay $30 for them to reissue a new one sooner. This was for a washer machine that needed to be replaced which was worth more than $600 but they only gave us the $375 for it, on top of that I had to deal with a rude claims adjuster. Terrible! I can’t wait to be done with this year’s policy so I can switch to another company, I definitely don’t recommend CHW!

    I was disappointed in the time it took Choice Home Warranty to get a technician to my house to diagnose what the problem was. After about a week, the technician found that the unit was totally out of Freon. To me, that means there is a leak. He filled it up and tightened a nut. First problem is with the response time, kind of far out when you have $500 to $600 dollars of food that is defrosting and have already filled our 2 refers freezers. A 9 hour window for them to show up....Really....People have jobs to go to. On top of the money for wasted food and now a day without wages!

    Choice warranty chose to replace my washer instead of repair. $349.95 was offered which will not cover even 1/2 of cost of replacement. I just bought one to be delivered on June 23rd. It was $749.00 ON SALE plus tax of course and hoses and pedestal to raise it up as I am unable to get down that low to load and unload.
