    I reported the A/C being out on 6/9 and it is 7/1 when I have received the report of denying the claim. I wish to point out that this is the system that I installed completely new approximately 2005. The only repairs to this system have been done by Choice technicians. The denial claim indicated repairs done with incorrect parts. Well, that could have only been done by your technicians. This is the hottest time of the year and I have be delayed 24 days without A/C concluding with the system had had incorrect parts previously installed. If this decision stands, this will be terrible course of justice. I faithfully pay my annual payment for your services, depend totally for servicing my household warranty requirements and I get this type of service! Outrageous!!!

    My dishwasher could NOT be repaired. I was offered $229.00 to go toward a new one. Your advertisements say that if not repairable you will replace! However, you REFUSE to replace my dishwasher. I can't buy a used piece of junk for $229.00. PLUS, I paid a $45.00 fee for the service call. So FALSE advertising... flat out lying! I will NOT renew my contract and will let everyone know why!

    I contacted Choice Home Warranty because my Refrigerator stop working. The Technician came out and it was determined that my compressor needed to be replaced. I call CHW and spoke to a gentleman who was very very rude, he informed me that CHW would not repair or replace my refrigerator. I made four attempts to reach a manager at CHW but no response.

    To start I don’t even know who I spoke to. I was referred to your company from my parents and told to speak to a salesman named Ronald. I got someone on the phone and asked for Roland (I mistook Roland for Ronald) and the person on the phone ignored me and began asking questions about parents and I. After a few minutes I asked, is this Roland? (Again, mistaking the name) and there was a pause before he said, yes. So whoever it was, it wasn’t Ronald and unless I got very lucky it wasn’t Roland either. So we get to the payment part of the call.

    I give “Roland” my payment information and then he tries to sell me a three year plan. He explains the plan to me and it sounds good, but unfortunately my finances only allow me to buy one year at the moment. I kid you not I politely declined 4 or 5 times and every time “Roland” seemed to get madder and madder. As if he was taking it personally. He even tried making me feel dumb by saying it was less money if I did it the way he was suggesting. He asked why I didn’t want to do it. Which is none of his business in the first place and he began threatening me in a snide tone saying that, “well, it’s going to be $670 next year and $100 per service call.” It got to a point where I had to just flat out say, why are you being so pushy? After this he denied that he was and quickly got off the phone.

    Mr. Marvin with Marvin's Heating and Air arrived at my home on Sunday, June 28th. He listened to my concern and inspected my unit, going into the attack and outside. He was not able to detect what was causing the roaring sound because it had stopped before his arrival and did not reoccur while he was here. However, the sound returned on Monday, June 29th at 7:10 a.m. and I immediately went out and made a video of what I was hearing and sent it to Mr. Marvin. Mr. Marvin returned on Monday, around 1:00 p.m., to reevaluate the problem, but because the sound is intermittently and had stopped again, by the time he arrived the unit appeared to be operating properly, and he could not provide a definitive diagnosis.

    He stated it may be the compressor. On Monday the roaring sound returned at 12:00 p.m and again at 2:25 p.m. and Mr. Marvin was immediately notified. He and I agreed that I will keep him updated, and as of Tuesday, all day, and so far today, the roaring sound has not returned, and the unit appears to be operating properly. But I'm nervous it's just a matter of time before the unit stops completely!

    We put in our first claim with CHW and already having issues with them wanting to cover. We put in a claim for ac issues and the tech was out within 48 hours from submitting our claim. The tech recommended that the unit needs replacing and submitted that to CHW. We now have had two different companies come out and both with same recommendation. They keep delaying our request for 2 days now and we still do not have a decision. We cannot get anyone on the phone. I have sat on hold for almost an hour twice. They give you the option to have someone call you back, but I have yet to get a call back and it is 4 hours later. When you ask a question on the website, they just send a copy/paste response to keep delaying. The heat index is over 100 degrees and we don't have ac. They are deliberately delaying. Now we will be purchasing a new unit out of pocket. What is the point of having a warranty when the company will not cover?

    This is the 4th time a tech has come out to my home for the same appliance, but the rep from Choice reported only one was on record. This has been very frustrating to pay numerous service fees for same issues. The rep was rude and offered no flexibility with this concern. I had planned on renewing my warranty for another year, but after this experience I have decided to look into other companies. I shouldn’t have to pay $200 in service fees for same reoccurring issues just because each technician either does nothing but give me detergent samples or claim they have fixed the issue.

    It’s very frustrating to have so many technicians in/out my house unnecessarily during COVID and to have to constantly write a check each time and to then be told none of this is documented on my account. The last technician was great and hope he finally found the issue that the others were not. The Choice reps were not so great. Very disappointing. This has been going on for 6+ months with this appliance.

    Disappointed in the overall results. We have had to request a claim for our pool motor 3 times. The reason is the first company that was sent out did not fix the system properly.     Very poor service and any way to try and get out of covering a claim/item which is covered by the home warranty. I have filed two claims and one for the rekeying service and was provided a poor contractor who was rude. To the point I had to cancel the claim and handle myself. Now the booster pump claim, where the evaluating team are looking for loop holes to prevent covering a claim. No I have to spend more time on this going back and forth than actually required. As well as filling this out to others are aware of the poor services offered. At this point, I would not recommend this company or service to any one.

    Have a leak in the pipe under my cabinet. The Tech explained the entire process that would take place. The Tech also explained that I might be asked to make an extra payment to get it done or they might decline to do it period. She did talk to her Supervisor about it. Therefore, I actually felt that the person told the Tech that they were not going to do it. I have heard too many service people say that Choice Warranty will not honor a claim if they fill that the labor and cost to do a job is more than they are willing to pay.

    When they sent me the denial email, it appeared to me that they could not really justify why they denied the service. It’s so unfair that you may for help and then when you need it, the Company refuses. That email came to me so fast that I knew when the Tech reported it, they had already denied it. Well, before the Tech could barely leave my home, the service was decline.

    My air conditioner went out on 6/24/20, I filed a claim, the technician was supposed to come out on 6/29/20 between 3p-8p, never showed up. Reschedule for 7/1/20 between 11a-3p. Showed up at 12 checked everything, told me the compressor was bad, just so the home warranty company that I pay for this very reason could turn around and tell me they will not cover it, because they believe the compressor went bad, due to negligence on my part. Maybe I didn’t grease it enough or something. For Christ sake this is why I pay for home warranty, we are going thru a freaking epidemic I have a 1yr old and a 2yr old in a 90 degree house, how I’m I suppose to afford a compressor.     I was assigned a Case Manager Ashley ** to work with me on my AC failure case, however it was tough to work with her. It appeared that she has already made her decision. However, I am an Engineer and have worked on HVACs before. They did not perform any investigation on my failure and the technician also told me that Choice don’t process claims and he had a bad expletive with them. The my close all the cases calling them rust and mishandling. They did not share the investigation with me.

    The technician came and did not even look inside the AC. I am not sure where she got this number and without any information on how much would it take to replace or repair the compressor, how can you make such a call. The cost of repair was $1600 and they paid me pennies. She did not have any rationale or justification when everyone in this world knows how expensive. Horrible experience working with them. It’s a fraud company and please don’t waste your money. They will want you to pay for the technician and also not investigate your case. VERY VERY BAD EXPERIENCE!! BEWARE!!

    My plan is supposed to replace an appliance that can not be repaired. My washing machine broke. I paid my fee and the offer presented to me for a replacement value was $299.     I place a calm order on 06/19/20 that my Ac had went out and that it was blowing hot air. Your agent told me that they would contact me by email when they had found a technician that was available in my area. I did not receive an email at all the same day I call back again spoke with another one of your agent. I explain my situation to him. He stated that he was going to Escalated up so they could get someone out as soon as possible. I told him that I had people coming in from out of town for our family reunion to stay and I needed my AC working. I still didn’t get an email. I call back the next morning.     Air conditioning. I only gave a 1 because there is nothing lower. First, you told me to get my own person, because you didn’t have anyone yet, and that would be included. I faxed the estimate. You then provided someone and told me because you found someone (after the fact) you would no longer pay for original estimate. I’m out $165 now. You brought your own person and then you DENIED my claim based on the unit being TOO NEW! I have only owned the home for 1 1/2 years so the units warranty won’t transfer.     Let me start with I am keeping in mind and praying others are stopped from purchasing this warranty! I have had this warranty for 2 years. I called for my first claim in May of 2020. Our heating and air conditioning was not working. A technician came out 3 times and it is June 30, 2020 and our system is still not working! We requested another technician that came out assessed the problem, contacted CHW. They sent a claim to us via email on 6/25/2020. All parts supposedly were ordered! The quote included a $900 additional charge (don't get this warranty) because they found a loop hole to whee as they are only paying some of the cost! I know you are saying but the advertisement and FAQ states everything is covered (Not So, Don't Take The Bait).

    It is now 8:06 PM. We have been calling all day since 10:00AM to get this taken care of. I am still waiting on this so-called Case Manager to call me to discuss my claim (Do Not Use This Company!) Never heard from her, I have called 4 times today! When I called back, this unprofessional customer service rep answered and quoted how many complaints and said well they felt good about it since they had so many customers (one complaint is one too many). My husband is Diabetic and staying in a home where the temp outside is 91 degrees so in my home it's probably 101 is not good for his health! I have also sent a complaint to BBB and the news channel here where I live. Feel free to contact me if you want to join me in getting consumer agencies, 20/20 and others on this company to rid them of their perpetuation against innocent consumers.

    I had a part replaced in a hot water heater, and the plumber noticed a gas smell. The gas was shut off, and the part replaced. But in order to get the gas turned on again I need to have a gas leak inspection. I received an email from Choice saying a plumber had found no leak and no maintenance was needed in my gas line. I called the plumber and he said he said no such thing and that he didn't do an inspection. He said Choice denied the claim to inspect the gas line in the attic. Then ATMOS gas people said I needed a plumber present in order for them to turn on the gas again. I called Choice and they refused to cover that.

    So, not only did Choice lie to me about my gas lines, but they won't cover a plumber to come out per the gas company's procedure. I think I am more angry about the fact that Choice doesn't mind if I have a gas leak in my attic and is happy to lie about it. This is my first year to use Choice, as I am only a few months in my home, but I will not be renewing. I am also going to write reviews of my experience all over social media. Can't wait to be done with you!

    I bought a multi year warranty Choice and was so relieved because as a single mom with two kids, having this warranty gave me such peace of mind. I wish someone had asked me these questions when I purchased my warranty... Do you want to wait a minimum of two weeks for a hot water heater if yours goes? Do you hope to make daily phone calls only to receive no answers? Is stress something you want more of in your life? If so, choose Choice.

    I submitted a claim two weeks ago for a leaking water heater. Only after calling daily because they couldn't find someone to come look at it, did a repairman come out. He found the leak and determined my 16 year old water heater needed to be replaced. At first Choice agreed to the claim and then told him the heater was covered under manufacturer warranty so I would have to get a replacement and they would pay install. The water heater is 16 years old and is not under manufacturer warranty. The company doesn't even offer 16 year warranties. After I called the manufacturer and sent pictures Choice agreed to replace the water heater.

    That was almost two weeks ago. I still do not have a hot water heater or a plan for installation. I have called every day and they escalated my claim to a manager who is assigned specifically to my water heater, but she does not give me any answers either. I just got a message today that my water heater was ordered. The claim was approved 12 days ago! It took them 12 days to even order the heater?!

    Two weeks. I have waited two weeks for a hot water heater. If it was my AC or heating system would a two week wait be acceptable? I think Choice may be great with repairs, but when it comes to replacement it has left a very bitter taste in my mouth. Even if they called today to replace it, I still had to call multiple times a day and wait two weeks for a water heater. I cannot adequately tell you how disappointed I am in the service I have received because I am two weeks into a BIG, use it everyday issue without resolution.

I had a policy with American Residential Warranty which was a total rip-off. Used it one time for washer repair and they said to fix the washer was too expensive.     Yesterday I had one of your representatives HANG UP ON ME and he was extremely rude to me while I was asking for help. 1st ISSUE - Choice Home Warranty OWES ME a refund check of almost $300 and every representative I've spoke to has not helped me out yet and it's been 6 months. The company keeps making excuses and saying it needs to be approved by upper management, but I get no response back from them. 2nd ISSUE - I recently had a service call on May 21st, 2020 for electrical work and the problem is back and Choice Home Warranty and/or the electrical company has declined to help because the service was done over 30 days ago.     I've been paying Choice Home Warranty for years at a costs of $ thousands of dollars. We bought the plan when we bought the home because the air conditioning unit was very old and called them to make sure it would replace when necessary. They confirmed it would. So for years, it has failed to function many times - they keep "patching it up" until this week when it stopped cooling properly. Temperature stays about 7-10 degrees above setting. We've called them 3 times in the last week and today, the service provider told them there was nothing to fix - it just would not cool since it is 27 years old.

    They denied the claim for replacement and said we needed to get some fans.??? This company is unethical, do not honor their contracts, and I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. We paid enough in premiums to buy more than 2 air conditioning systems. So today, we're having to purchase an entire new system out of pocket.

    First of all, I am not happy that CHW does not fully replace items that go bad. I am confused as to whether any major things that need replaced in the future would cost me a lot.     Not happy that you do not have a a service tech in my area, & have to get my own. Which is a hassle for them to get the info needed to do the work. Called Choice Home Warranty to alert them. Requested to talk to a supervisor. I was told a supervisor would call back within 24 hours. Seriously? Even worse, I never received a call. On Monday, still no plumber came. Called Choice again. I asked if I could hire a plumber and bill them back. They said no, but would call me back that day with a resolution. I never heard from them again. I was forced to hire a plumber on my own after enduring a leak for 4 days. My plumber arrived within 90 minutes and fixed the leak. He identified that the compressor was noisy and one day would stop working.     (Choice Warranty.) It has been determined that the main sewer line for the home has developed a blockage. However, there is no accessible ground level clean out available for the technician to cable the line from. The plumber came and determined that I have a clogged in the up-step’s bathroom. He checked the ground level cleanout and said it clean and the main sewer line did not have a blockage which he also had accessibility to cleanout. He submitted my claim stating the only thing that needed is pull the toilet and snaked the line in the up-step’s bathroom. The reason for denying my claim has nothing to do with the clogged in the bathroom. At the end of day, it cost me $300.00 to unclog the drain. Choice has denied ALL four of my claims. Do not believe George Foreman, Choice will NOT cover anything.

    I opened a claim for a broken AC on Sunday (06/28/2020) - I received an e-mail giving me the authorization to find a contractor because Choice Home Warranty could not find a contractor. In the e-mail, there was a link to select the option of hiring a contractor "called the reimbursement option: I pay the contractor, and they reimburse later" on my own but the link was broken.

    I found a contractor and at 8:00 AM Monday Morning, we called them to obtain their approval, and that is when they said they found a contractor themselves that will come on Tuesday. I refused because (1) that will be 2 nights of sleeping without AC, when the temperature was 95, with 3 little children including a 1-month old, (2) they already authorized me for the authorization option, (3) the contractor I found was able to fix it the same day.

    I would not recommend this company to anyone. I put a claim into Choice Warranty. They couldn't find repairman to come and look at it so they said I could get my own and they would reimburse me. My repairman sent to them the needed repairs. They said the furnace was corroded and they would not cover it because of no maintenance evan though the furnace was 17 years old and I was not responsible. They gave me an option that wasn't very good but didn't let me know for about 7 to 10 days. I keeped e-mailing and leaving a message on claim rep's phone but it took her a while to get back to me... It seems they try to find ways to not have to pay. They could have at least paid part of it.

    I've been with Choice Warranty for a number of years. I haven't had many claims. They're very good at paying claims that are very low cost but if something is going to be several $100 or more they will automatically find a reason to reject it. They will most often say it wasn't maintained properly which is so esoteric and hard to defend. They then force you to appeal and appeal and wear you down to the point where you have to fix the item yourself because you need it. They are as dishonest a company as I've ever dealt with. The lure you in because their annual costs are lower than the others. It's a great strategy because they don't plan to pay for anything

    So far, this has been a difficult situation. When I initially called, I got scheduled quickly. The crew came out and looked at the issue, and placed a ticket to be reviewed. After many days, and a couple of phone calls to the HVAC company, they said they needed pictures. The email I received showed my claim was denied a day before the HVAC team was scheduled for further determination. I applied for an appeal as soon as I got the email and sent in my home inspection report to show the ductwork was rated to be functional and intact. The only observations to cause concerns was the age of the unit itself (not ductwork) and the fence that was built around it. This was not an ideal experience, and has caused more stress than needed. Feel free to reach out to me for further information if needed. All that needs repaired is two areas where the ductwork has fallen out.     Requested to have both AC units repaired for not properly cooling. Both units was working prior to technician coming by after he arrived and worked on the units. One of them stopped working for 4 days. He and I both tried to contact Choice Home Warranty for guidance and claim approval. This did not happen so I paid the contractor the $120 service call fee which was $60 per unit and I paid him an additional $692.50 for repairs for a total of $812.00. After tech repairs I sent copies of invoice and request for reimbursement of $692.50. CHW declined to pay my claim. I am requesting termination of my contract and refund me $784.00 for the 2 years left on my 3 year contract as of July 2, 2019.

    Choice Home Warranty will find any reason not to pay on claims. We had a previous claim for our air conditioner that was denied due to the presence of rust in the pan of the condenser coils. If you know anything about where the coils are located, it is a very wet environment and water collects in the pan. Therefore rust is expected over time.

    Then we had a claim for the heater in which the primary heat exchange went out and the secondary kicked in... eventually the secondary heat exchange was malfunctioning causing the heater not to work properly. The heater company turned the heater off due to it being a fire hazard. CHW denied the claim even though the heater company said there was no way of us knowing there was a problem until the secondary heat exchanger malfunctioned. We sent all the supporting documentation and a claim rep was assigned. She said "she was just calling us to help us understand why they were not paying" not to understand the problem with the heater.

    On this claim our hot water heater, that came with the house, needed to be replaced and once again the claim was denied due to the size of the hot water heater (it was 80 gal. and the policy cut off at 75 gal). And once again a claim rep was assigned to help us understand why they weren't paying. We said they could cover a smaller unit and she still refused to consider that option saying it was a commercial unit. This was a house unit installed in a home that was there when we signed up for the policy. We then asked for a refund and she stated we could cancell but there would be no refund... and quite smugly asked if we would like to continue the cancellation procedure. I would give it no stars if I could!!!

    I have tried to file claims with them and each time "it's not covered". This time was just too much. When you sign up they offer great rates and even try to get you into a multi-year plan. It's brilliant since they won't actually repair most of what you need. The salesperson tells you it's simple - they cover all you might need. Then you get the contract and it's built to exclude most things that will go wrong with your equipment. This time I found my air handler leaking. Well they exclude leaks. Now, I don't have clogged pipes are leaky pipes or hoses. That means I have a cracked drain pan. That is actually a broken piece of covered equipment. Well, they won't cover it since the manifestation of the problem is leaking not "mechanical failure". See how they operate?

    Do yourself a favor and stay far far away. I called an independent HVAC guy and guess what he asked me? Which home warranty company - because he won't touch CHOICE because their practices are so bad. In the past I had been with someone else, and they actually provided service.     Our first need to contact choice. Do you fill up an issue with the ice maker in the freezer of the home we bought. Refrigerator must be 10 years old approximately. After the call to inquire about repair, and appointment was set up within a day. The repair person came within today's. 4 hour service fee, he swapped out the entire ice maker which was probably $400 item.
