    The AC company was great, 5 stars to them! The hold up was that CHW took 3 days to see my approval for the repairs and get in entered into their system. I did have to pay $2900 for a new system because my limits for AC maxed out but that is better than $5000. I did receive an apology.

    I’m in Texas during a heatwave and main downstairs AC went out. On Tuesday I submitted claim and Wednesday morning CHW sent a very competent and professional Tech. Within an hour, he had diagnosed that I needed a new compressor that was fried. He sat in my driveway for over an hour trying to get the info to CHW. Chw and the tech made the decision to partly cover the work and he brought me a paper to sign that had me agree to paying $2900 for the noncovered expenses. Basically everything but the furnace needed replacement. I signed the agreement in addition to sending a message on the portal. I received an email from CHW later in the day stating the appointment with the tech was for the next day Thursday to install new equipment. I thought this was truly an amazingly easy and prompt process of an AC claim.

    Next day I received A phone call from the technician stating that he had never received an email telling him where to pick up the equipment. Both he and I, tried numerous times to call CHW and find out what the holdup was. He received the message that it was a long wait time and that he would not lose his queue in line if he hung up and left his phone number. Of course, he never received a return call or an email. I stayed on the line for 45 minutes until I got a claims rep who was rude and uninformed. She basically said the tech would hear something in 24 hours. After 24 hours and no email I began calling again and was finally told that it was not documented in the system properly that I had agreed to the repair.

    I was given a case manager yesterday but have yet to hear from her after numerous phone calls. I just received this email: "Thank you for your email. We did receive your agreement to the non-covered charges and our purchasing department has been contacted. The technician will be notified within 1-2 business days with the order confirmation. Please allow 3-5 business for the arrival of the equipment. If you do not hear from the technician within this time period, please contact us so we can review this claim further." Today is Friday so I guess next Wednesday or after the equipment will arrive and then they will schedule the installation the following week? I hope we haven’t died from a heat stroke by then.

    Kitchen sink. Took too long to replace the snap on waterline. Technician had to wait too long to get approval then had to go get the item needed came back and had to go back to the store because he need something else to go along with it. Had an extremely difficult time removing and replacing the water pipeline. He did a lot of pushing pulling. He also put his foot under the sink. Was not a good experience.

    I'm very disappointed with Choice Home Warranty because I you guys are fraud. I used your services for 3 yrs ago (2014, 2015, 2016) and that time I only did 2 or 3 claims. I renewed the service with you last month and this month my AC stop working and you guys said is not covered because a preexisting condition and because the services just started.     Having dealt with your company on three issues, I feel your company is a complete rip off. The coverage is incomplete and very deceptive. At this point I would like a Prorated refund for the remaining time on the policy. You will be hearing from me and possible my lawyer...     The guy that came was very nice, but was reluctant to want to do the work that involved repairing the cooktop. There was some clogging of the burners and appeared he was giving me a lesson on what should be done and what to do to resolve the issue. I was to do this myself after he left. Now, don't get me wrong. He did clear some of the blockage and showed me where the problem was and I appreciate that. However, if I were to do it wrong, then I would have bigger problems. My opinion is....he is the expert, he should be the one to fix and resolve the problem I called about.

    I'm very happy with the technician because I hired him myself. He's an honest man, friendly, affordable, and came out a day earlier than planned. However, I am NOT happy with the service I received from Choice Home Warranty. It is unacceptable to have gone almost 96 hours without a working A/C. I completed a claim online as soon as I discovered the issue. The first company scheduled an appointment 8 days out and then that was cancelled because I'm outside their service area. I truly feel CHW needed to do more in this situation. I do NOT feel like CHW cares about its customers in the least bit. I will NEVER recommend CHW to anyone I care about.

    To give you an idea of what better customer service may look like, I had a home warranty several years ago with First American Home Buyer's Protection. When my heat went out and they couldn't get a technician to come out over the weekend, they offered to reimburse me for either a hotel or the purchase of heaters. When my A/C went out, they offered to reimburse me for the cost of fans. Maybe my standards are high because of my past experience but you all need to do better, period.

    I am currently in the market for a new home warranty co and decided to try Choice Home Warranty. After signing up, I had a question regarding my new policy, so I called back. Once it was established that I was a customer, and not trying to sign up, I was transferred around several times and then placed on hold for over an hour and twenty eight minutes. I was on hold longer than I had been a member of Choice Home Warranty. When I finally spoke with someone, who didn't hang up on me, put me on hold, or transfer me, I canceled my policy immediately. He explained what the problem was and why it was likely that he wouldn't be able to effect repair. The unit is twelve years old and evidently the failure is a design flaw. That and the fact that the parts needed aren't available. Like automobiles, replacement parts are only held on stock for ten years so what we actually have is planned obsolescence.

    We had a unit go out on June 24. They came out next day. Said was blower and would order part! After many calls forgot to order until July 1! We put family up in hotel 100 degree heat! Bottom line after many calls job not done yet! Called local. Got part. Done next day! Choice put you on hold. Refuse to pay for the repair (almost 2) weeks out! The tech said the first day he could replace the whole unit that day but Choice said to order part! They have a repair or replace but reasonable! Other company ordered it overnight and in next day! This is the company we get annual service done so they warranty you! Which we do twice a year! My husband had documented everything and Choice have been nothing but rude and unprofessional.     Called about an A/C that stopped working. Tech took two days to come out and check it, and determined that a drain pipe had come loose, causing water to drip all over the unit, which fried the control board. Claim got denied due to water damage. I appealed and cited their coverage: "...are in place and in proper working order on the effective date of this home warranty contract. This Contract provides coverage for unknown/undetectable pre-existing conditions so long as the malfunction could not, or would not, have been detected by a visual inspection or simple mechanical test."

    I have lived in my home for two years. The pipe was in proper working order. It was an undetectable pre-existing condition, which could not have been noticed by a visual inspection. My case manager just said no. I said I provided your company's policies, which you are refuting, but not providing a rebuttal. Was told "no was a rebuttal", and she would not cover my claim. So I was given a choice by my case manager: I could either hang up, or get her recommendation for a tech from her.

    This company will do their best to weasel their way out of any claim that is more than $100 fix. If you're paying $500+ for 12 months of coverage, you're not going to make more than 5 claims, meaning you're at a loss. Any expensive claim will be denied. This is expressly stated in their terms, electrical failure and water damage is not covered. Meaning, there is no application for the warranty that cannot easily be denied. Save your money for a rainy day fund. Choice Warranty is a complete waste.

    Our air conditioner went out on Saturday, July 4th...I realize it was a holiday, however, it was over 90 degrees each day and we have a large dog in the house but the earliest appointment I was able to get was the following Tuesday! I could have been taken care of on Saturday had I been able to use any company. I didn't realize CHW had negotiated with only certain companies and they have to 'wait until someone picks up the claim'...when someone did pick up the claim, you are provided a phone number to contact and I tried contacting them but no one answered the phone nor my text until Monday morning.

    When the technician arrived on Tuesday morning, they knew exactly what was wrong with my A/C and all they did was vacuum out the water that had overflowed into the pan...we had a clogged drain. I don't even know if they fixed the clog (I assumed they did but I don't think they did)...very nice guys that came but not very communicative. They also drove 2 hours from Charleston to the appointment for $65! Seems like a waste of time for both me and the company. If they knew exactly how to fix my issue, why didn't they save both of us time and money by telling us how to fix it ourselves? I love having the Home Warranty but it SUCKS when you need a repair quickly and have to wait for days just to get serviced!

    When I purchased the program with Choice Warranty, I was told "No Heat & No Hot Water" were considered priority calls. My hot water heater temperature sensor went out in the evening and I filed a claim right away because they told me they are available 24/7. Due to the pandemic, they are only available online 24/7 (understandably - sort of - seeing as everyone is working from home, you would think, people on the phone would be available - but whatever - I get it). I file the claim at 8:40 pm, I call the following morning and my claim hasn't been assigned to anyone nor has anyone picked up the call. Noon rolls around and still nothing.

    I am in constant contact with CSR via their online claim center. I keep getting a canned response from different agents from different parts of the works (again, I get it - but no consistency). Each time I am told that they will notify me with 24 hours from when I filed the claim to grant me permission to find my own technician if they can't find one. I ask "so in other words, no HW for 24 hours before you "grant me permission" to go find one?" They said "once you are given permission you can complete the reimbursement form and "try" to get reimbursed for the issue." The last statement of "try to get reimbursed" really threw me for a loop.

    Luckily, I was able to get a plumber out here to "look" at my HWH and then he has to go online, fill out the forms and get "permission" to repair it. Claims are reviewed within 4 hours after the technician submits it. The claim was reviewed and approved. The technician then realizes, no one has the part he needs to fix my HWH and contacts Choice Warranty to let them know, because the HWH is much older, out of warranty, many of the supply houses does not have it in stock and will leave me with no HW for several days.

    BACKGROUND: I have an adult child (19) who went into the military at 17 and suffered a traumatic brain injury and uses hot showers twice a day as a way to alleviate the migraines vs using medications. All this was explained with the various claim service reps, when I purchased the program in January, and in my online claim documentation.

    Choice Warranty tells the technician - we will not replace the HWH for a part that costs 3/4 of the amount it will cost to replace the whole HWH, the customer will need to deal without HW for several days. The technician calls me and informs me, that it will take several days to get the part in, although he strongly suggests replacing the whole water heater due to the age and this sensor will only fix this temporarily. That request to Choice Warranty is denied. They would much rather pay twice than to replace it.

    I had to order the part myself, pay the overnight freight fee, but I still have no hot water as I am waiting for it to arrive and have it installed. The CSRs - They were friendly, courteous, respectful, but not helpful. The technician - not one of theirs - was great! This is my second claim with Choice Warranty and both have been difficult to deal with. This 2nd one was much more difficult and more frustrating due to the urgency of needing hot water for my child's pain management. I feel that Choice Warranty did not honor what I was told when I purchased this warranty program.

    I am not happy that it took 4 days for me to actually get a service call and that your c/s representative told me over the phone that you do not do emergency service calls at all.     I have not been pleased with this warranty since we inquired about it. The customer service and accounts take forever to get an answer. I put in a claim on my tub that leaked through the ceiling and the guy they sent out never looked to see what the problem was. He just assumed it was a drain issue without opening anything or seeing for himself so the ticket was closed without action. I appealed this decision and the person said the guy is a professional and knows what he is seeing. Even when he NEVER saw ANYTHING. I fixed the problem MYSELF and it ended up being a seal on the jets, not a drainage issue, but I still had to pay $65 to the man who did absolutely nothing!! As far as coverage goes, I hope you enjoy reading pages of fine print or else you will not know what is actually covered before submitting a claim.

    I was disappointed that my first claim with Choice was denied. I had no control of lightning striking in my backyard, totaling my son's truck and wreaking havoc with several electrical operations. Cited for the denial was "The zone system is not factory installed equipment and is a modification to the air conditioning system and the terms and conditions section F number 11; we are not responsible for repairs related to inadequacy, lack of capacity, improper installation, mismatched systems, oversized systems, undersized systems, previous repair or design, manufacturer's defect, and any modification to the system or appliance." I do not understand how my air condition system not working because of a lightning strike fits the criteria for denial. I am in the process of appealing the situation and hopefully can resolve this issue.

    First of all the company that WE found, Landrum Heating and Air were fantastic. Came right away, and was in your system. So now I will start with the rest of the story. We live in SC, been in middle 90s and our air goes out. I call Choice and they assign me a technician, 5 days from my call. We were not happy but what could we do. We made calls to the technician, to make sure he was coming. It is 87 degrees in our home. He never answers, never calls back, and never shows. I call and complain and they say they will reassign, they did, another 5 day wait, same guy...Solomie B. Another no show, calls made again are not answered or a call back.

    I had to cancel my company for the 4th of July because it was so hot. Now I am really mad, call again and said a complaint will be made and will reassign. I got reassigned, another 5 days....the same technician. Okay enough. I had to find a technician myself and Landrum was fantastic doing whatever it took to get me fixed up. After 12 days we finally got the job done. So am I happy with my experience with Choice. That would be a big resounding heck no!!!
