Rep at CHW was very helpful in addressing my problem with the garage door opener. The rep assumed me that would have a tech available in a 24 hour period. I was notified by CHW via email that a tech was assigned to address my problem with garage door opener. Bustamante showed up on time, fixed the problem and showed me that the opener was fixed and now works properly. Quickly.

They were very prompt and it was handled in a very good way. Our water heater was replaced the same day as we started or claim. We were going on vacation and it was handled before we left on our vacation.

The Response to the service call was great. We had a Tech. show up the next day and he found our 27 year old A/C unit was not repairable. Choice authorized the replacement. It was my understanding they would pay for the replacement, but that is not the case. They paid the contractor $1500 and we paid $1914. I ask four time what we were paying for and they could not tell me or wouldn’t. The fact they did not even pay half of the cost is unbelievable. The fact that their advertising leads you to believe they will take care of you is a lie and false advertisement.

The plumber came to the house, fixed my sink and left. There was no dilly dally or excessive talk. She fixed it quick. She was very polite and professional. I will request her if I have any other plumbing issues again.

I was skeptical about purchasing the warranty service and put off buying it for quite awhile. But we bought all our appliances at Sears at the same time and like us, they are getting up there in age. You can just imagine my husband and mine relief when we realized Choice Warranty utilized Sears repairmen. They called twice to remind us of the visit. The Repairman was cordial and extremely professional. I have told family and friends this is a much needed service for home owners.

Our central air conditioner was on but not blowing cold air. I made a claim with Choice on a Tuesday and was informed that they were trying to contact a contractor to do the repair. On Friday, I opted to begin the "reimbursement" process. I contacted a firm and they sent a technician to my house that same afternoon. A repair bill was sent to Choice and I received a confirmation that I would be reimbursed minus the $45 service fee. I was happy with that. However, I wish Choice could speed up their process of finding a contractor to do the coverage work.

Submitted a claim for my a/C (it's 100 degrees outside right now) and in less than an hour, a technician was here and I now have cold air. Thank you so much for the quick service. Highly recommend using Choice!!

There were different issues that arose during the initial claim. I will try to be as brief as possible in my explanation. 1. The 1st techs were less than competent and used an incorrect part (which was later used to deny the motor damage caused by this part). 2. These techs condemned the unit on their 3rd visit. 3. Another tech was sent over and he got us up and running. 4. Upon recall (because of freezing lines and inadequate cooling), the new tech discovered the incorrect part and stated we would need a new motor. 5. The motor claim was denied because of the incorrect part stated earlier. 6. I sent in a request to review and was assigned a case manager-Rafael **. 7. He initially contacted me via email on Monday 8/10 and asked me to respond.
8. After this, there was no reply to my repeated emails and phone calls. I was promised by CSRs every day that someone would contact me. I was promised a new case Manager. No one called. When I asked to speak with anyone else, I was told my case was escalated to the appropriate level already (yet ** NEVER RETURNED MY CALLS or EMAILS). 9. On Thurs, I called the sales department (my warranty is up for renewal) and explained my situation. I could not renew with such poor service. I received prompt assistance. 10. It took a couple more days of continual emails and phone calls, but the technician Cortinas & Sons came out today and fixed the motor.
This process began on July 20. The temp here has been 100+ degrees and Choice Home Warranty gave the worst possible service. I had to spend multiple nights in a local motel because of the constant delays. Your 24 hr return contact guidelines are not actual. I still have not had any contact from R **. There are a few positive contacts, but they are far outweighed by the lack of concern and response.

I Have had Choice Home warranties for few years now. Convenient that you can call or submit claim online and they always assist right away. The companies they send are always professional and resolve issue quickly. I’ve had to use this service about 3-4 times in about a 4 year span.

Pool filtration system has a leak, I found this morning as I was getting ready to mow my lawn. So I call Choice Home Warranty to let them know above my pool. Customer service guy name Jim, said, "I’m sorry to hear about your filtration system leaking. I can help you get that fixed!"

We called with a claim for our HVAC on Saturday July 25th. They failed to send a service tech out until Thursday July 30th. (Their website promises 4 days, on weekend calls). Supervisors have not responded to calls within a timely manner. They have failed to provide accurate information to us as the customer. We are now 35 days without properly working air conditioning and Choice Home Warranty was notified for 21 days of this time. Completely disappointed in this company and we will not be recommending them!

After almost 2 weeks of waiting to communicate with a case manager, I was able to get somebody to allow me to talk to a supervisor. I called over 20 times, emailed at least 5 times, before a claim representative got me through to a supervisor. I kept getting the excuse that since the claims reps were working remotely there was no way to get a supervisor without sending an email. My issue has been resolved but it should not have been this painful.

As a long time customer I am very disappointed with company limit of $500 because other companies are offering a better price on their limitations. Very satisfied with contractor (DVC). Choice needs to revamp their limits in order for me to recommend to other customers because I was not aware of the limitations.

Easiest & quickest fix! Professional, courteous, informative. Great experience! The spring on our garage door broke in half. He fixed it in about 10-15 minutes and then explained everything to us so we understood what happened and why. He adjusted it so it shouldn’t happen again for a long time.

The tech Jacob from Sears was awesome! This is the second time he has been here and he was very knowledgeable and super friendly. First time the flap on the door was broken and this time the ice maker. He showed up time each trip and though friendly he did the work in a timely matter. Would want him anytime I need a repair!

Company was quick to make call. I was not real confident in skill level of technicians....Seemed a lot of "guess" work...But thorough check.... They Had to cut hole in drywall but did terrible job. Not a "clean" cut....Will make repair of that more difficult. Overall good.

Our technician was out in less than 24 hours from making the claim. He identified and fixed the problem within 30 minutes. I was shocked that he had the part. Seems like you always have to wait for those. 100% pleased and satisfied.

Ed with Millers came to repair my Dryer. I called Choice Monday to file the claim. Ed called Tuesday to say he would come Wednesday to check it out. He came back Thursday to fix the problem. He was very professional, efficient and friendly. The only thing I would suggest is since we are in Covid 19 encourage the technicians to wear a mask. Perhaps he had some medical condition that prevented him from wearing a mask. I would have felt a little more comfortable.

My problem with getting my Claim Request settled wasn’t Customer Service from my experiences with dealing with this company! I’m a small business owner and it’s obvious to me that your company is 1) disorganized 2) Non of the people handling calls are able to make any decisions so I find myself continuously being passed to somebody else! Once I reached the right person that’s handling my case; I’m totally frustrated!!! The CASE WORKERs assigned to my claim have all been awesome once I made contact w them! All the entry level customer service reps just can’t help your customers! That’s a COMPANY that’s not going to keep you as a customer! We will go to Social Media when we’ve had enough!!! Right now I’m still Loyal!!??

The electrician was on time. He was extremely knowledgeable and was very friendly. He explained the problem, showed me the defective part and advised the defect could have caused a fire. I would definitely recommend him to a friend. He was very neat and wasted no time.

The service person was very respectful and was able to attach the handle. However inside the door a part is wrapped and that part was not covered under the warranty. He was able to attach the handle but it will not be a permanent fix, no fault of the repair person.

My 2nd Freezer in the garage is not keeping my items cold. I made an appointment and was given an appointment of 8/20 on 8/13. I received a phone call from the technician and was told that he was in Silver Spring and would be at my home in :30. My 2nd freezer is in the garage and less than 4-years old. The tech claimed the freezer was overloaded, and he could not do anything. Then, my son, was was paying for the service charge was told that the tech could not change a $100 bill and that he could not charge on the credit card. The tech only had $20 and kept the additional $15. I was livid. He was incompetent and a crook. I want you to please provide better service.

CHW is not a good warranty company. Apparently, most of them are not what you would expect. But out of 4 claims we've submitted over a year, only 1 of them have they actually done what they were supposed to do. 2 of them they completely denied, and the other one they offered us basically a 10% payout on the replacement cost of what we had. I would NOT recommend them at all.

I called CHW to submit a claim about a leak in my bathroom. Joe, the customer service representative who took my call was very professional and knowledgeable. He understood my problem and wanted to know if I had other problems. He was very professional, knowledgeable and detail oriented. I would not hesitate to recommend Choice Home Warranty. A/C check for not cooling correctly. So when Alex from the A/C company came out he’s checked all the systems, and when he put gauges on both units, he found out that the 1st floor unit was about 2 lbs. low on Freon. He charged the system, and everything last night and today ran great and cool. Great tech.

The first claim on 5-16-18 was made over a year after our contract became active so it is not possible to conclude or prove that our air conditioner condenser leak was a pre-existing condition. We signed up for a 3 year contract spanning from 04/25/2017 thru 10/25/2020 for $1,125.00. Both of our air conditioner service calls (5-16-18 and 8-10-20) were declined for any reimbursement. The refrigerant leak was fixed in the most recent maintenance visit with an EZ Seal application.
We have now paid over $900.00 dollars out of pocket plus $1,125.00 for the original 3 year contract. So we have paid almost the same out of pocket expense as the contract itself with no coverage on either of the air conditioning claims. The only bright spot for this latest claim is that the technician from B&A HVAC was very knowledgeable, courteous and professional—5 stars for him.

The tech equated the unit and recommended compressor replacement. HOME WARRANTY refused. I think that is very unprofessional. Either you're gonna warranty it or you're not. Choosing after I've paid you is slimy at best. I will buy a new compressor if you will contribute Something.

Job was completed on a timely basis. The technician arrived on time and completed the job quickly. I placed the request on Wednesday and the technician arrived on Thursday. The issue was a capacitor and it was installed in a matter of minutes.

He came out, was able to find a problem and fixed it. A.C. is still working so that is a plus. It was extremely hot and we had a hard time sleeping. If the repair process could come 24/7 that would be great. Waiting for someone when you are so uncomfortable is really hard. I realize you only have so many repair people but if you could increase the companies that would be a plus. The last time I called for the a/c you had no repair people that wasn't good but I will comment on this time. It was great but like I said being 24/7 would be even better.

We are the buyers of a house where the dishwasher broke down after the house inspection showed that it was working. The sellers called in a claim when they found the dishwasher not working 3 days before the closing of the house. They offered us money towards the repair or to go with the warranty. Since the money would not cover the cost of a new unit if not fixable we went with the warranty. They put a claim into Choice Home Warranty then transferred the warranty to us since they would not have access to the house after the sale. A week later because of the Covid-19 the service company came out to look at the unit and they were unable to make a repair due no model or serial number on the unit.
The information was passed onto Choice Home Warranty which proceeded to deny the claim. Reason was repair from the seller had to be done before the warranty transferred to us the buyer. Three days before the closing, not going to occur with Covid-19 affecting businesses. I did send in a request to reconsider showing the unit was working when we put in our contract on the house. Choice Home Warranty said that I would have a caseworker assigned within 24 hrs and a reply back in 48 hrs.
After two days I found out about the caseworker when asked to fill out a survey. I reached out to him via email. No response from the caseworker. After 5 days from my initial request I finally got a call back from Choice Home Warranty from a different representative. After a lengthy discussion the representative admitted that an item has to be broken within your actual ownership of the policy and it also has to be fixed within the policy period.
So the poor marks goes to lack of timely feedback as they did not even meet their stated standard for contact times. Also vagueness in the contract as to how transfers work from a seller/buyer situation. I also sold a house and the realty group bought a warranty from another company than Choice Home Warranty. When I spoke to the other company they said it is covered in such a situation. I wonder if this is true. To end the discussion I asked what is the real value in have a home warranty as I do not see one other than the $500 spent for the aggravation for the situation.

First we waited for 10 days for a repairman. The repairman did not show up. We called the service tech Number. The service tech had no idea the repairman didn't show up. We were issued and new order for a repairman but chose to get our own. We entered the information and were told we would get a reply in ten minutes. That was at about 8:45 this morning. It is now 3:06 pm. We still have not heard from CHW yet you want this review. I was very happy with the repairman because he did what he said he would do. I have yet to hear anything from CHW.
In a recent review of your claim, our records show that we have provided you with reimbursement of replacement of the high limit switch, and a check will be mailed out to the address we have on file.

Last Sunday (8/9) our home a/c went out and I immediately filed a claim. To my surprise during this hot summer stretch, a technician was assigned within 12 hrs and came by noon on Monday. He made the diagnosis and took the $65 service charge. I received notice that CHW had approved his repair recommendations. Today is Friday and no additional work has been done. I understand that some parts must be ordered (even backordered), but I have not been given a clear promise of when he will return.
This is the second time I have contacted CHW about A/C issues. Last year it was at my former home and took 10 days and the job assigned to 3 different techs before some came to my house to get the problem resolved. I am a reasonable person, but it seems we are in for another 10 day siege! Satisfaction includes both quick response AND decent resolution time. I have been a CHW customer since 2016. My experience has varied from satisfactory to not at all pleased.

Technician fixed our AC on the 11th and it breaks middle of the night on the 13th. He can’t come back so for 6.5 hours. Nobody has gave us any help as my pregnant wife and I sit in our house sweating and postponing our vacation hoping somebody comes at some point. Pure negligence and lack of service as the reps on the phone say, "It’s an automated system. Nothing can be done," over and over.

If A/C is covered, why was our claim for a bad compressor on a two year old system denied with some long, involved, phony excuse??? Refunds Available, I hope! VERY DISAPPOINTED IN CHOICE WARRANTY!!!! I'm going to report them to the state of New Jersey and also to their local Better Business Bureau! Pure robbery!!!

He provided very detailed coverage, cost, start dates, and expiration dates for the terms of each policy. He's very knowledgeable and professional. The repairman that was sent out was great. We were not thrilled with the outcome. The repairman told us that the unit should be replaced. We received notice that the ignite button can be replaced, but we are responsible for cleaning the device. We have no clue how to clean the INSIDE of a hot water heater, or how to get to the inside of the water heater. I guess we will just have them fix the part that was authorized and submit another claim because the water is still not hot. This was already the second time having someone out for the water heater.

Steve was very prompt in responding to my order and arriving to my house. However the issue I have is it took me calling in multiple times to get the claim in. It was sent to Sears home repair and canceled. Sears came out charged me $89 and when I talked to a supervisor after I called for the sixth time I was told that the work order would be resent with a zero amount due at time of service. Yet I still paid the $85 fee when the service was completed. I love the fact that your company covers my house but really frustrated with the process of this claim.

1st floor toilet kept clogging and took an hour to snake with a 6 foot aguar regularly. Definitely not a toilet issue. I so glad that CHW came and cleared the main drain. 35 ft downstream. We put nothing down the toilet except toilet paper. He was very knowledgeable and fixed it in about 40 min. or so. I've been very happy with Choice since I've joined. This is my second claim and you guys are so much better than Landmark by miles and miles.

There was a problem with the hot water heater. It didn’t heat properly. Technician found the problem & repaired as soon as he was able to locate a part at the hardware store. Home warranty person was very nice & helpful. They replied quickly & we had a repair person within 2 days.

Updated 8/20/2020: Again Choice Home Warranty makes things difficult when I have a legitimate verifiable claim. It was determined my water needed replacing, & your contract covers the water heater & installation. But, I get an Email with a demand for $455 dollars from me to proceed W/ replacement! I declined, & called & Emailed back asking for a detailed report of what that money was for. I was told a 'case worker' would be assigned to me. That never happened.
The Plumber, Tiburcios called me & said had parts needed & were ready to install. I discussed the $455 dollars, & he told me, had spoken W/ Choice warranty people & would accept $355 dollars, I asked what that was for. He said new supply lines & some other material needed to complete task. I asked him for a breakdown of items, which I have not yet received! I reluctantly paid to get the job done. I would have understood another $100 dollars or so, but as of now, I see nothing that should have cost me an extra $355 dollars. Would still like to know exactly what this money was for.

No breakdown of what that was for! I declined, project on hold & waiting for Case Mgr. Very poor way to treat people. I would pay a little extra for items but not half the cost of project. The frame of the over range microwave has broken and according to the diagnosis cannot be repaired. You offered $170 to replace it, which doesn't cover the cost of the machine itself but you allowed nothing to install the new machine claiming clause F16 absolves you from responsibility which I feel is ludicrous. I still don't understand that clause and although your case manager did increase the machine allowance I'm still over $100 out of pocket.

Hard sell seems to Be the motto. That was the part I didn’t like. The pricing changed slightly with each communication. I didn’t like that either. I asked that, since we had a couple of months before the policy takes effect that I be allowed to send a check for the premium. Again- no flexibility. Pricing was only good for a few hours! I had questions which the first guy didn’t respond to. I called in and the new person went into his super hard sell mode. Asking for three years premium up front. I almost hung up. I hope future experiences with this company go smoother!!

The appointment was made. The plumber showed up and used a camera to inspect what the issues were. Both of the guys were good but then their was to followed up with Choice of when to call to follow up with the repair. No one from choice has ever called or followed up with the additional repair for the work to be fixed. No one followed up with the repairs since over a week. 8-13-2020. I contacted the plumber but it is Choice H W next position to do. Very POOR service from Choice.

The technician was prompt and courteous. He completed the job replacing the hot water tank and cleaned up and was very fair in his pricing. He worked around the work schedule of the tenants in the home so they could have minimal time without hot water. We would certainly use him again if we would have a similar problem.

Original Review: A technician was sent out on a previous claim whose work was subpar (I have photos). He did not leave any paperwork but left the site without notifying the tenant. The unit ran for a few days and quit. He would not answer his phone and made this a very difficult project. I prefer not to work with him again. He remains a vendor and was assigned to another job. CHW was very understanding and I am waiting for another vendor to pick up the assignment as the job was easily reassigned.

Repairing/replacing a AC Unit took Choice 19 days due to very poor customer service. In order to make sure the new air conditioning unit was matching at least the specifications of the unit it replaced before the installation, I contacted customer service to find out the specs of the new unit. On July 28 and 29 I spoke with two people in customer service who were unable to give me an answer, first one, Chris, put me on hold and then hung up, while the second, Karen (or Caren?), promised to answer in a follow-up email which she never sent. The third time around, on the 7/31/20, a representative was able to give me the make and model of the replacement Choice had approved. I do not understand how it was possible that for so many days no one knew or was able to find out what replacement unit had been approved.
However, the replacement air conditioning unit did not meet the specifications of the unit it needed to replace. The old unit was a 5 ton unit while the one Choice was sending was a 4 ton (Lennox ML14XC1-048-230) which was insufficient. It took more phone calls and emails until a proper replacement was approved and installed. Please note that the technician who diagnosed the problem and did the replacement work was very prompt, professional and efficient, the whole delay was entirely a customer service issue. All this happened in the middle of the summer in the South where 19 days without AC is a long, long time! Thank you.

To be fair, this company did promise excellent customer service and quick response time. The response time was not the issue. The tech was able to get out to see the issue quickly. The problem is that it is Choice's tech. They get paid by Choice. When the tech they pay diagnoses the problem and delivers the solution Choice should listen. Instead, they made my whole family including my 88 year old mother in law sit in an unairconditioned home with temperatures inside the house reaching 84 degrees.
I was told I could appeal the decision. I did. I was even contacted by a case manager via email. Three days later there is no follow up. I have left over 8 messages and emails asking to please make contact. Nothing. No response. The tech and I both explained to them the situation. The tech even sent them pictures. They told him they would authorize him to replace the unit. While he was waiting to order the new unit they denied the claim. This is not how you do business.

My A/C unit was having a hard time cooling the house down, and I figured it needed a refrigerant recharge. Clayton HVACR responded to my claim incredibly fast and came out the next day. They diagnosed the problem and any other potential problems, were very communicative throughout the entire process, and fixed up my A/C in just a few minutes. And our house is finally nice and cool again. I would definitely recommend Clayton HVACR to anyone I know that needs HVAC work.

After multiple trips to repair our ice maker it was determined it could not be fixed. It is only five years old and the retail price to replace is about $2500. We were offered only $500, which is the balance of the allowance to replace the ice maker AFTER the repair charges were deducted. This is NOT what we were told... that a greatly reduced amount of money would be offered. We were told if an appliance could not be repaired it would be replaced. That has not been the case.

The technician was amazing. However the ceiling had to be opened to find the leak. Once it was opened they determined it was the flange. Now CHW won’t pay to fix the ceiling. I’m paying for the flange because I understand you don’t cover that. What’s the purpose of CHW? Then the rep told me to take it up with the plumber because it wasn’t authorized. Now as the customer and homeowner how would I know if you guys authorized it or not (because you didn’t communicate that to me at any point) and how would the technician know where the leak is coming from without opening the ceiling. Long story short I will NEVER EVER use CHW or recommend you guy. Your call times are horrible, the rep put me on hold 3 times to tell me the same thing and then you aren’t being upfront about what’s authorized! Do better!

We were very pleased with the serviceman who came to help us with our problem. He arrived promptly and was masked as a precaution, which impressed us. He was able to quickly find the problem but, unfortunately didn't have the necessary part needed as it was not a common problem. He ordered it and set an appointment to return after we receive it. There was no hot water. Maintenance came made quick adjustment under the sink less than 2 minutes he was done. It was the lines were mix making noise and no hot water. Now we got hot water. Now I got more problems in the upstairs bathroom. Shower head is point to the wall and unable to adjust and sink faucet is completely loose not holding tight. Need service.

The technician was sent 24 hours after my refrigerator failed. He checked everything thoroughly. I purchased a home warranty package under a new promotion. I was sold on the perks. I however have yet to receive the warranty email, confirmation of account but the $480 was taken out of my account same day. I have spoken with my rep a few times and the email hasn't appeared. I feel misled and will probably cancel bc the survey got to me 5-10 min after my payment went through. I don't like shady business.

I was pressured into accepting this service and I decided it was not in my best interest. So last night I requested a cancellation and that was within a 24 hour period. I do not see the credit on my credit card. I will be moving on to the next of contacting an attorney for being duped into this. So that is my story. Repair man came to house. Checked tub and faucet. Went downtown but no parts at Lowes, so had to order. He did return in a week and replace the faucet with factory parts as we had American Standard (had tried universal parts he got uptown and they leaked, so had to return them). Overall, though we were without tub for awhile, we had another we could use.

Central air was not cooling, just blowing warm air. Outside compressor / fan not operating properly and the technician had to replace the capacitor on the outside unit. This was done in a very short time and corrected the problem without any delay. Tech was professional and we were extremely lucky to be able to have Choice Home Warranty set-up the appointment and have this problem corrected during what is a very busy schedule for air conditioner repair folks, with the temps here in West Tx at 100+ degrees on a daily basis.

One of the air conditioners serving my home seems to come and go. It cools for a while then, although still running, ceases to cool. I called Choice Home Warranty and discussed with their representative the means for having a technician diagnose and repair the problem. I fell for a sales hook and decided against it within the first half hour. The sales rep said I could cancel at anytime for a refund or I would not have purchased. I requested cancellation in writing and was told to call an 800 number which was not provided. HAVE NOW SPENT MORE THAN 4 HOURS ON HOLD IN MULTIPLE CALLS AND THEY KEEP TRANSFERRING ME AND STARTING IT ALL OVER AGAIN. I will soon be contacting the Attorney General and this unprofessional outfit.

The technician dispatched to my home was nice and very informative. However, I am unsatisfied with Choice Warranty and their handling of claims. The issue that occurred with my AC unit was not able to be detected during our home purchasing or inspection process and it is ridiculous that I am being told I have an excellent home warranty that in reality, does not do what it was purchased for. I will not be recommending it and will be purchasing from another warranty company after this contract has ended.

The A/C was not cooling the house. I created a claim online. Within minutes I had an email with a scheduled appointment from an A/C repair company. They were scheduled the next day from 3-8 pm. The next day the gentleman called and said he could be there at noon. He showed up, told me what the issue was and fixed it. He was very nice and we are very pleased with the service.

The only issue we had was that the tech had to come back after ordering a part, and we had to be the ones to initiate a follow-up. Our policy “kicked in” on 8/8/20 after the 30 day waiting period after joining on 7/8/20. On 8/9/20, our master suite air conditioning failed to cool appropriately but was working. We called in for an assessment yesterday on 8/11/20. A very nice gentleman from Iceberg came and diagnosed low Freon likely from a small leak. He was ready to add sealer after being told by Choice to go ahead but was called back just before starting and being told it was not approved as it was a prior problem. That is not true at all as the home is only 3 years old and the air conditioner had always functioned perfectly as we have it serviced and checked professionally every 6 months!
I protested by phone to Choice after waiting one hour on hold but got nowhere except to be told that someone would reach out to me by email within 24 hours! We are now without air conditioning in that end of our home since last night as the service man Choice sent said to leave it turned off as it could “freeze up”. It is on its way to 92 degrees and humid here today! It is unconscionable for a supposedly reputable company to treat a new customer in this abhorrent fashion. It is now 10:30 AM the next day, 8/12/20, and there is still no contact from Choice. The service man was perplexed as he said this clearly should have been dealt with the last evening when he was here.

Our JennAir has been out of service since April! You sent 3 different servicemen to handle the problem of not being able to use burners. Now your case manager wants to "settle" for $700! Unable to find one to replace ours... at least for that price. We do not understand your motto "fix or replace". Your manager Freida ** is not accessible. When she did contact us, she said there WAS models to replace ours, but we have been on the computer for 2 hrs. today and there is NOT!

We were trying to find the decision on our recommended repairs. The woman customer rep was very rude, ill-mannered, had an attitude & refused to assist us. She refused to tell us the decision & reason why; in pursuing this with the man who renewed our contract he submitted in the wrong email. There is no good reason for denying my claim and appeal. The water pressure in my kitchen sink suddenly went way down. It has not affected any other faucet in the house. Yet, you assert that you won't cover it because it has an external cause. It seems to me that you cannot tell the source of the problem unless you send someone out to look at it. They blame not having service reps on COVID and for you to source your own contractor and file for reimbursement, but get this, once you have a contractor you need their approval. They say if you don't get their approval prior to fixing it then they will not cover the work, but they delay the approval for well over a week. I guess no Hot Water for a week I need to tell my family, until I can have the the unresponsive team over at Choice to give me the ok to give my kid a bath with warm water. The fact that I had a sick child who needs a clean house and clean hands it is not acceptable to go a week+ in waiting for an approval for a new hot water heater. Stay away and if anyone wants to pursue a class action I will gladly take the lead as I'm sure they didn't do their due diligence in sourcing a contractor and breached their own terms.

Shower stoppage. Water backed up and ran water over onto the floor two times. I then covered the floor plastic. The tech was here for a short amount of time. I hope the problem is fixed. I am very disappointed with the decision that was made regarding my AC issue and repair. My unit was not working properly and was flooding my house, this should have been a qualified repair! The damage that the flooding was causing to my home was serious and will no doubt cost a significant amount to repair. As a result of your decision I had to pay the service call and the repair bill, which most certainly cost more than it would have had I not used my “service plan”. As a result of decisions like this I would most likely not recommend Choice, and I most likely would not sign on again when my plan expires.

I called on 8/1/20 to start a claim for my dryer. I kept receiving emails about the COVID 19 delay that you were having trouble getting a technician that if I wanted I could try and see if I could get my own service technician to come a get a reimbursement. The technician wasn't too happy that he couldn't speak to a person to authorize the repair, doesn't like the online work. I was disappointed that I had to do all the leg work and almost 2 weeks without a dryer is too long to wait.

Yesterday our air-conditioned stopped working the compressor unit got so hot the unit shut off. We entered a claim on-line, got a call in about 15 minutes, set an appointment for today. Ultra Air Conditioning came and replaced the fan motor. Back working great. I have had several other issues with problems which were not covered. This one was perfect.

Water heater was out for a week before they got someone out here. Only the water heater was covered. I don't understand why all the new plumbing is not covered also. If I put the old stuff on, which won't fit, and it fails, then you won't cover the new water heater because of the old plumbing. Seems to me that the NEW water heater can't work properly without the new plumbing. Its like putting a new motor in a car and putting all the old hoses and belts back on. You seem to only pay for as little as possible. Not the best home warranty company. I have had to fight for the 2 other items that needed service and one was a 24 year old garage door opener. They denied the claim because of "springs" which were not the problem or what the technician clearly stated. The motor was end of life....yea 24 years, average life is 10 to 15 years. Plumbing company was great, but did state that Choice Warranty is the worst one to work with.

Amigo Plumbing needed to go to the roof to snake the main line. Of course, it was excluded, AS USUAL, by CHW!!!! More than 75% of the claims I had with CHW were excluded by one way or another!!!! What I had paid for this warranty (more than $11,000 in total) is a huge waste of my money. What could be logic is to exclude the "extra" charges Amigo would impose for going to the roof and not THE WHOLE amount so that CHW end up paying zilch!!!! I would be happy to pay the difference knowing that CHW took responsibility of their part and not ending up covering NOTHING.

My living room ceiling fan stopped spinning. The lights would come on, but no cooling. I live in Texas, 100+ degrees every day. Choice Home Warranty was unable to get someone to come out. I was offered the choice of continuing to wait until they found someone (it had already been more than a week) or finding someone on my own and pay and they reimburse me within 30 days. I called a company, $167 an hour and they wanted me to buy a new fan and they would install it in September, they were booked until then. I did not have the money to do this. A neighbor looked at it and got it to work. There was just some dirt and dust in the switch. He cleaned it off and it's working! I cancelled the order.

Since 1986 I have been with a competitor of Choice. My Family suggested that I check your company out, as they have been super unhappy with the Protection Plan we all have. After hearing their horror stories I decided that my loyalty probably was not appreciated and why should I put myself in the same situation as my family.
When I called to discuss my current plan they just didn't answer my questions. So with that said I decided to reconnect with Choice. My Customer Service person was Eric ** (Choice) and he was a pleasure to work with. I ended up taking the 3 year plan which saved me over $1,000.00 and my renewal is locked in for life. My new plan will start on 9/1/20 and I am looking forward to a great experience and a feature of problem free claims.

Beware Choice Home Warranty are scam artists and will not pay valid claims for repairs. They denied my air conditioning repair. Their contract specifically states they cover any equipment regardless of brand or age. The claims advisor was just a person there to say no to your request for coverage and was not a customer advocate.

However, Frank was very polite and did a great job for us. The job was a little more complicated than he originally thought, but he took care of everything and resolved our problem.

AM PM Services was friendly, knowledgeable, courteous and arrived a day ahead of time! Great overall experience! Found other issues with AC unit and resolved those issues and gave good advice on managing unit long-term. Would definitely recommend for other Choice warranty customers.
