I called after watching the George ** add to get a quote. The representative was friendly, knowledgeable and spent extra times discussing various options and answering my questions and concerns. I especially liked that she provided me with her contact information and stated that if we had any claims/concerns I can contact her personally. In the end I feel we were able to purchase the best product at the best price.

The first time I used Choice Home Warranty I was disappointed in the response, but after following up with them, they made things right and did what they were hired to do with ease and no hassle for me. The first claim I had was for a dryer that was not heating. The Choice technician came to my house promptly and found out that it was an electrical problem with the outlet the dryer was plugged in to. I then had to go back to Choice and file another claim. So far things have been smooth and professional. I am satisfied after a rocky start.

I put a request in for a service appointment on 8/17. I am still waiting for an appointment and when I call to check on it, I don't get any specific answers. I've always gotten a response with a service appointment within a couple of hours. I know I can get my own service tech, but do not have a good contact - which is one of the reasons I use this service.

Washer stopped working on Sunday Aug.16th. I called Choice on Monday 17th, the appointment was set for Wed 19th and the job was done. Washer stopped working in the middle of a load of washing. I tried everything I could think of with no results. Called Choice, made a claim, Choice sent out a tech from Blaze Repair shop. The tech checked the washer out and told me it needed a new pump. He left and came back with new pump. He put the new pump in, ran the washer, it worked fine, we have now used it for several loads and it works fine at this point. Also the tech arrived at 11am, on time of the appointment.

A tech was not available through Choice Home Warranty. I had a local tech come in and asses my needs. I submitted his estimate and Choice almost immediately approved the service and I will have my appliances working again in short order. I am very pleased with the service I have received and will recommend Choice Home Warranty to all.

Never had problems with Choice Home, they fix my appliance when it's broken, I placed my claim the other day and plumber came the following day, today they replaced my garbage disposal it has a leak. Happy customer! Been with them for 5 years now!

Great job, when first I called the customer service, it took long time to answer me, then he kept arguing when it happend and how long, too much questions, because I'm far away from home, was not easy to answer, there is a company responsible to rent my home, yet everything went smoothly after that.

The guy on the phone was very quick. I really hope that my service is better than the phone call because it seemed like he just needed to meet quota & rush me off the phone. This will be my 3rd home warranty company & if y'all don't live up to what you say I can promise you I won't use you any further. So here's to hoping a made a good CHOICE!!!

We received the warranty with the purchase of our townhouse. We used it to have our locks rekeyed. After the long wait to speak with someone, the process went very smoothly, and the locksmith was very efficient and respectful. So we were extremely satisfied with everything except the phone experience with Choice.

This company is a total ripoff. They deny claims on the most common wear item for AC units saying not wear and tear. Currently I have a complaint with my state AG, and looking into class action suit. They’ve already been denied in California and have a suit against them in Arizona. Thousands of complaints by BBB. Only get them if you like throwing your money away.

I would just like to say that this time my experience was pretty good. That is both Choice Home Warranty CSR that took my call was very helpful and understanding and the provider Mr. Freeze technician was able to fix the AC rather same day.

Let's look at overall performance;
2- #2, Furnace ignitor, went very well.
3- #3, Bathtub crack wasn't best experience. Policy doesn't cover tub replacement but I had to pay $60 tech fee to tell us we had cracked tub. Happily, Misty (appeals lady) gave us $60 credit for next incident. Kudos to Misty!
4- Now, we have garbage disposal claim. - inprocess. Work was scheduled in reasonable time. Awaiting outcome.

WILL ELECTRIC WAS SO PLEASANT AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. CAME IN GOT THE JOB DONE AND DID NOT TRY TO GET ANY EXTRA MONEY.. A person can always trust technicians that has the customer in mind and not try to line their own technician pocket. I called Choice for the first time for our refrigerator which some parts went out. Upon calling Choice, the representative seemed like he was preoccupied with something else. I told him I needed to submit a claim on our refrigerator and I also told him that I may ask the technician for advice on our dishwasher which is missing a lid to the soap dish. The representative filed a claim first for the dishwasher then told me that I can't claim the dishwasher. After some discussion we filed the claim for the refrigerator. The representative was not rude but he seemed quite disinterested in helping.
The technician came out as planned and he was excellent! He told us all about our refrigerator, how it works, what the issue was and he ordered the parts needed to complete the job. I am very disappointed however that it will take about a month before the technician comes out again in order to complete the job. I will complete the survey or contact someone when the job is complete but for now, we are in a holding pattern until the job is complete. We did ask if this specific technician could come out to finish the job but he said he didn't know because of how the assignments work.

1st off I had to keep calling to get the vendor & Choice Home to do their job. Everyone drop the ball. No one did anything until I called to check with them, on top of that they charge me almost the whole cost of the bill & then when I asked why I received no explanation.

A/C was not blowing cold air. The outside portion of the unit not running. Called in a claim on Sunday and was handled quickly. By evening Choice called to say they had a tech. The tech would call the next day for an appointment. The tech called and would be there the same day. So pleased at quick service as we have an elderly person with extreme COPD, which is affected by extreme heat or cold.

I have had Choice for a number of years. Each time I have made a claim it has been a hassle becasue I have to arugue with them. When my washing machine went out they offered me very little to replace it. After 3 phone calls they at least went up to the lowest price machine I could find at Lowe's. Now my slide in electric drowndraft stove has went out. It will cost me 3000 to replace it because of the downdraft. They offered me 339, then went up to 575. They now say they will give me 800 but that is not even a third of what I have to pay and for an electice slide in range at Lowe's. The least is 1200.. The lowest with a down draft is 3200 there. I don't think this is a fair amount but I am very tired of fighting them. I will most likely be cancelling or at least not renewing with them.

The technician was friendly, knowledgeable, and was able to answer every question. Our time window for arrival ran late but the technician was very nice about it and informed me earlier in the day so I could plan accordingly. He had the part we needed available in his truck, and problem was fixed before he left our house! Quick, easy, and efficient! Thank you!

I filed a claim on 7/27/20 and a technician was not found until 8/17/20. I have been in contact with CHW several times by email and phone regarding their inability to find service providers in rural areas (this has been ongoing since 2017 so has nothing to do with COVID 19). I usually get scripted responses telling me they are diligently working on it. What they offered was for me to find a service provider and be reimbursed. When I tried this I was told by various service providers they wouldn’t work with a home warranty company because they Usually deny the claim or it take weeks to be paid. This was true when I found someone to repair my dishwasher. My claim was denied because door gaskets are excluded. I don’t have a problem with that because I read my policy and the exclusions prior to the service call. However the service call was $80 for the diagnosis and I am only supposed to pay $45. I was told I would be reimbursed $0.
Now an electrician came to repair ceiling and exhaust fans. CHW did approve for the ceiling fan to be replaced but the electrician did not have one. I had purchased one just in case one was needed. When I contacted CHW about reimbursement I was denied. So once again I’m out money for covered services. And during this entire process I have been called by 3 salesmen to renew my contract. No way would I renew. There’s a saying that if you say something positive about someone it gets repeated once to another person but if you say something negative about someone it gets repeated to 10 people. I think I’m up to double that amount by now with those people telling 10 more people. I would never recommend your company to anyone based on my experience.

Our A/C was not working. Weather was 95 degrees with 80% humidity. Notified Choice on 8/18 at about 9:00PM. Was notified Bosh Bros. Air would be assigned our call but couldn't came till 8/23. Choice suggested we call Bosh A/C to see about getting them out earlier. Called Bosch on next morning and they said they would try to squeeze us in. Bosch called that afternoon to say they would come at 3:00. Arrived on time and proceeded to analyze and fix the problem quickly. Got A/C working and all is well. Thanks Choice and Bosch Bros.

The tech was able to pull the water line up through the hole in the floor (which I hadn’t been able to do) and then cut out the part that was leaking and spliced things back together. He also showed me how to change the water filter in the system. Fast and easy. The service fee was a little high, I thought.

Have already contacted Choice regarding the unscrupulous tech that swindled us. We called someone after he left and he had it fixed in under 5 minutes. We have 2 units, one large and one small. He didn’t know which furnace to look at and took pictures for you of the wrong one. $527.50 unnecessary charges!

Is called to cost compare and spoke to Adam. If you listen to the call he was pushy and kept asking for the email. I almost hung up and called back to get someone else. If I can give Amy advice since being in sales my whole life is to train employees to not sound like they are reading off a piece of paper and to not be so pushy. I have 30 days to still decide based on this call to cancel.

We purchased a warranty from Choice Home Warranty when we purchased our Cypress home last year. We've now had two claims either denied, or not covered in full, contrary to what they advertise that they cover. They then point to the contract where they have several limitations outlined in fine print, and this is what they fall back on to decline the claim. They claim that they will either cover repairs, or if more cost effective, replacement of an appliance with another model with similar functions and features. But then they low-ball you if they determine the cost of repair is too high. The first incident was when the upstairs air conditioning went out near the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic (denied). The most recent incident is our washing machine. We filed a claim and CHW sent a technician to inspect it. He stated that the work would likely cost more than a replacement.
After he submitted his review, CHW offered us a meager $363 cash settlement. We declined the offer, stating that a new machine with similar features (front-load, Energy Star, steam cycle) would cost at least $800 to purchase from a local discount retailer. Today, I spoke with the claims representative assigned to our case, and she quoted two sections of their contract that state, "HWA reserves the right to offer cash back in lieu of repair or replacement in the amount of HWA’s actual cost (which at times may be less than retail) to repair or replace any covered system, component or appliance." Further, they claim, "HWA has the sole right to determine whether a covered system or appliance will be repaired or replaced." So, in other words, they can offer you whatever they want, even if it's not the actual replacement cost of a new appliance, and the consumer has nothing they can do about it. The representative then came back and offered an exception of a $470 settlement, and was clear that this was outside of what's allowed in the contract.
Consumers need to be made aware of the deceptive tactics of these home warranty companies. CHW alone has already settled with the New Jersey Attorney General in 2015 for over $775,000 due to their deceptive practices. And in 2019, the Arizona Attorney General filed a suit against the company for their practices, including precisely what they are doing with us. Yet they are allowed to continue to take millions of dollars from consumers who get caught in their high-pressure enrollment practices, only to find that they are left in the cold when it's actually time for the company to support their warranties.

Placed a work order. Response was quick. Scheduled service for 4 days later. Provided information about technician. But I didn’t need the service. I canceled the claim the same day the service was scheduled. Overall the customer service was excellent. The service call charge they told me When I joined was $45.00 per claim. But the amount That they told me to pay to the tech was $65.00. That was not good. I did not avail the service. So I did not have to pay....

Reported Aug 17, 2020. Bay Town Heat and Air was assigned as our service technicians. They arrived on Wednesday and repaired the A/C in less than 30 minutes. They contacted me on several occasions to let me know the status of the technicians. Great company and service, very professional and courteous technicians!

Great customer service, great deal!! Not sure why everyone doesn't use your service. Not sure why we let our service lapse??!! We bought our first home last year and 2 months after we let our policy expire our AC bit the dust! What an expensive, inconvenient lesson, but one we will never make again. Live and learn!

Prompt assistance for our order without any delays. Young Professional came out and looked at the problem. Had to order a part and came back the next day and worked on the problem with our dryer and fixed it. We paid the 75.00 service call and did not have to pay anymore for parts and labor.

I signed up to Choice home warranty one year this October. Since then I have had to file 4 claims. 1 for a 3 year old hot water heater, which was denied for payment. The 2nd for a leaking well tank which was also denied. The 3rd was for a air conditioning unit, which was paid out at $175 towards labor costs and the final so far was for a dishwasher that is not working. I placed the claim on the dishwasher on July 6th and it is now August 19th and still it is not repaired. The first technician that was sent out cancelled on us twice. He then diagnosed the issue over the phone and came to replace the part. However, his diagnosis was wrong and he needed to order another part. He left to order the part and left water behind are dishwasher on the floor that leaked through the floor boards and into our downstairs bathroom.
Choice warranty stated they were not responsible for the damage and the company "Appliance Express" refused to give me their insurance information and return any calls. So I am left with all the repairs. Choice Warranty reassigned the job to Sears, which as of today cancelled on me for the 4th time and still has not shown up. So now I am waiting for the 3rd company to come out. Choice warranty hires cheap, unreliable help and when damage is done to your house they wash their hands of any damages. I have asked several times for a manger or supervisor to call me and never received a call back. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. My associate in my business recently signed up with them. But since learning about all the issues and lack of response from this company he has chosen to cancel his membership. I will be doing the same as soon as the dishwasher is repaired and hopefully reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.

Service person arrived on time. Did not wear any PPE and I had my grandbaby with me. He also did not have the necessary part for the repair and will have to return another day to complete the repair. Very inconvenient since there is never an exact time given for an appointment, just a window.

The customer service speaking with the reps were great. I had a schedule appointment from 11-3 today. The technician called me at 7:30 stating that he can come out between 9-11. I asked the tech will he call me before coming out so that I can make sure my husband was up because he is working night shift. The tech did not call me until he was at the home. I asked if he can wait for about 10 min and my husband would be home. He stated that he would wait. When my husband arrived he stated he saw the tech passing him. He called and he would not answer the phone. I text the tech to see if he was coming back out today because he text my husband that he will be out later today. He texted me and stated that he will be out on Monday. I cancelled the order and asked could another company come out instead.

We bought a warranty for our house to have an easy, no-hassle solution for repairs. And so it was for the first two repairs! We had a refrigerator repair that was done expertly and a couple of parts replaced on a dryer. We figure this saved us the cost of the whole warranty, which was nice, so we extended the warranty for a few years.
Unfortunately, this was right before things started to go downhill-- our washing machine broke and it took a full ten days to get the tech out. He said it'd be about five days to get the parts he needed. This turned into two weeks. When we called in week 3, we were told that it'd be 3-6 weeks to get the part. We complained about the lack of communication and were told that we would be assigned a "dedicated case manager." This case manager had one conversation with us and assured us he'd look into it. We haven't heard back since, and he does not return calls. Friendly reminder that you are within your right to dispute EVERY charge to your credit card from a company like this if such a thing happens. And we may do just that.

When Integrity Home Sol. Came out he was very nice but he told us it was one problem and then come to find out it was the fan motor. He said it would take 4 days to get because the air was 14 years old then he went upstairs, took a picture of what I thought was our coils and said it was full of mold and we should have it cleaned and it would cost $2700. And told us if we didn’t that they would show the picture to Choice and every time something went wrong with our air we would have to pay because we never got it cleaned for the $2700. Then he proceeded to say we should have it replaced and it would cost $8100.
I told him that was too high then he said take off 10 year warranty and it would be $6600. Only 1 year warranty. I still said that was too high then he said he would take off the mold protection and then it was $6100. I never liked the way this was going so I told him I never liked Amanda products and I would get other estimates. So I did and lo and behold I did get the 10 year warranty. The mold protection is a pan that come with the units so I feel I was getting ripped off.
We looked at the unit when it came out of my upstairs. There was no mold. I don’t know where he got that picture and the salesmen from the other company said it would never cost $2700. So I am thinking of canceling my home warranty after this year if this the kind of companies you have coming out to people's homes to try and cheat people. If I was an old lady she probably would of went for because when you say mold you get scared to death. I am very disappointed about the whole situation because me having to wait 4 days I had to stay in a hotel. The company I hired said he should of had a universal fan on his truck to fill the problem instead of us going without air.

On a Wed the box started to warm up. By evening the freezer was 40 and the box 55. I applied for a service call Wed evening and got a referral that evening. I removed all of the food and frozen items. The next day the box was up to 70 but the melted ice seemed to be freezing again. The next day the box temp was back to 38 and the freezer was making ice. The service man came on Sat. although the appointment was to be the next Tues. He came early when I told him my age. He was very concerned about me and checked everything out and could not find a problem. He said it could be a control problem and said he would call me every day until after the scheduled appointment to see if it repeated before he would file a report with Choice. It is still working.

My ac fan stopped blowing Monday evening and I contacted Choice Warranty and the submitted my claim immediately and advised me it would take 4 to 24 hrs for a contractor to contact me. By 6:36 AM I received a text advising me that On The Spot set an appointment for Wednesday between 7 and 11 AM. I live in Vegas and temps were going up to 114!!! I called On The Spot Air right away and I spoke to John and Megan to expedite my appointment and was able to get an emergency slot on Tuesday at 7 instead of the next day. They were very professional and helpful.
Randy arrived shortly after 7 AM. Very polite and knowledgeable. He determined that the control board on the fan was bad and contacted Choice Warranty for authorization to replace, he received authorization and replaced the board and got my AC running again! I am extremely pleased with the service, professionalism and prompt response time from On The Spot Air and Choice Warranty.

Filed a claim due to ac not working. It took 4 days for a contractor to be dispatched. The contractor said the issue was due to the age of the unit and the compressor had gone bad. Choice denied the claim saying due to the issue not being related to normal wear and tear but there was a line obstruction. I appealed the claim and called but was told someone would call me back in 24 hours after the appeal was reviewed. This is day 3 and I have not received a call from them.

I put in an order for electrical issues in my home, two switches, an outlet, a bathroom outlet and two electrical outlets on the outside of the house that are supplied by inside wiring and inside electrical box. I was told that the outside outlets were not covered even though the electrical wiring and box was inside. So I had to hire an electrician to repair those. It took about 7 weeks to have an electrician to come to do the repairs. He did a very good job.

My shower would not turn off, I called and told of my problem, I then asked if I could get Mr. Smith's Home Repair because they previously done service for me, through you, I was told "very politely" that they would put in the request, but if I contacted them, to give them the claim number I did, told them about the water running and was told that they would get it out to a service repair person, in about 30 minutes someone called to see if I would be home, because he was in the area, within 30-45 minutes it was complete.

Door has to be pushed hard to close completely, I thought the seal around the door needed replacing but it ended up needing a new hinge. That was good news but I was not sure if it would be covered. The claim must have been submitted as soon as the technician left; I received confirmation later that evening that the claim was approved and a date for the repair to be completed.

Unless initiated by the customer, emails are the only form of communication and it lacks details. Even when calling the service reps can't provide any additional information. Any attempts to cancel a claim or contract is met with excessively long hold times. This company will ALWAYS choose the cheapest patch-work option rather than a long lasting solution; unless you call them out on it. I considered myself lucky when I made the 3yr contract purchase with CHW; but after my most recent and unfortunately ongoing issue with my FIRST & ONLY claim, I regret ever doing business with them.
CHW will substitute cheaper equipment that ultimately costs the consumer additional out of pocket expenses for modifications when they could have just replaced with original parts. CHW claim to work in the best interest of the customer and the technicians but really they're just looking after their own bottom line. I've submitted two separate inquiries for a resolution specialist to contact me but have received absolutely ZERO calls. Either CHW is backlogged with complaints, which wouldn't surprise me considering my recent experience, or they really don't care.

I requested 2 problems. The leaking water in my kitchen sink and refrigerator problem. Plumber came and checked, got $65 from me, never came back to install or fix the problem. The other guy scheduled to come out and take a look at my fridge. Never showed up on the scheduled appointment time. Problem never got fixed. I'm unhappy because Choice Home Warranty services never even called once to asked if the problems had been fixed or not.

Mr. ** Called to come a little earlier on a Sunday. Temperatures were 106-108! He identified the issue, fixed it and saw the coils needed to be cleaned and for an additional charge, cleaned both units. It was so hot that it took 6 hours to cool down and is still cooling 2 days later.

I submitted a claim and it got denied. They are trying to say it was an electrical surge when that is not true. We have had no storms, no outages. Everything on my house works fine. The person handling my claim kept asking the technician if he thought it was an electrical surge and he said, "No. A number of things could have caused it to go out." I have been a 4 policyholder with CHW for over 10 years. My AC unit has been having issues and CHW has had to send a company out 2x to try to fix my issue. The unit needs to be replaced but CHW refuses to replace it even tho the company stated it needs to be replaced. It just seems that CHW is picking what they want to replace and customer service isn't any help. At this time I really need to rethink if it's in my family best interest to continue my 4 policies or look at another company that will value me as a long time customer.

Updated on 10/15/2020: Unfortunately, problem is still unresolved. mechanic was professional and respectful, but this problem requires a Trane expert in wiring. System still will not go below 76 but return to 77 despite of setting. Very happy with warranty coverage nevertheless. Service is prompt.
Original: Technician was polite and knowledgeable. However, this problem requires one who is proficient with Tranes that have Clean Effects Air Filter system. Now, the A/C will not go below 76, and it seems to work longer to remain at 76-77. The problem was not fixed after 2 technicians from Doing Service LLC came. I appreciate their efforts but to resolve this problem, someone who have handled such problems is necessary.

The refrigerator needs to be replaced and it took a month to get someone here. 1 hour to solve. The septic tank is outside the foundation and not covered. This was known when I called in but yet a service technician was dispatched and I had to pay 65$ for the service (and CW knew they would not cover it). Complete disingenuous service. And now the dispute claims person won't answer or call back. Really bad business practices.

Updated on 09/07/2020: This is an initial assessment. I placed a service request on a holiday (Labor Day) at 9am, received email confirmation minutes later, then a text at noon followed by a phone call informing me that a factory service appointment has been set up the following day between 8am and noon. The timeline is incredible considering it is a holiday! I will place another assessment after the service call.
Original Review: Call came within seconds of my clicking on. Gabriel was very polite as he walked me through the plan. I was able to see on the website other electrical devices that are outside the normal coverage, such as sump pump, and was able to add that onto my plan. Getting a fix price for more than the first year is a good deal, but I wish it wasn't an upfront payment. I would have liked giving a review after my first use of the plan.

Since the A/C went down on a Saturday, late afternoon, no one responded with an appt. until Monday, late afternoon. Unfortunately, they also cancelled on me on Monday, and wanted to move it to the next day because they had a technician out ill. With Covid going rampant, I'm glad this guy didn't come into my house.
Since my husband has severe medical problems, I could not wait for this company to get their act together with this 95 degree heat. I asked Choice to put me in contact with another company to get service sooner, but they emailed back stating that I would just be delaying the process more. I ended up contacting a company, not associated with Choice, who could take care of my A/C problem 24/7 who came out a few hours later the same day. They don't even charge extra for coming out after hours. Why can't Choice work with some of these companies with expanded hours?

I truly am unhappy with Choice HW. My garage door broke. I called CHW and took forever to get someone. The man said he would send me email and that he had sent out for technician to respond. A day went by nothing. I called and was told they would send out another technician message. Still nothing. My garage was hanging. All my very important things were not secure. Animals could come in. I had a CHW guy tell me to get a repair person and send in bill. I found a garage company thru a friend. They were out that day. Why couldn't CHW do this. I was told it could take many days. I got a guy to come that same day. Horrible.. I called and a nice lady helped with talking over. I pay and send in bill and CHW will pay. Take 5 minutes she said. I am satisfied with the service I am receiving. I am paying a lot of $60 service fees. I am overall happy with the service. I wish the policy was more clear on differences in HVAC system as in how the coverage works on specific heat and specific AC unit issues.

Clearly you are trying to walk away from this situation...if you continue down this road of negligent behaviour we shall have no alternative than to make the public aware of this situation through Social Media and proceed to replace CHW with one of your more reputable competitors! This is my third call on two properties and in all cases I was told to find my own repair person for a reimbursement process that is too annoying. That is not what I signed up for....I was told your company handled all that through a network of service providers. Doesn't seem like much of network exists. Eventually when someone does show up they have been good but getting Choice to get someone there is very disappointing.

My garage door stopped going up and my car was trapped inside because it was too heavy for me to lift manually. Choice Home Warranty responded to my online request within minutes. We have 19 year old HVAC units that were recommended be replaced by two different companies. The one representative told us Choice Home Warranty will never replace until the unit completely died and refused to run. We have had are are not really working on one unit for about a week and a half before someone was able to come out. Another unit for four days before they sent someone out. I wouldn't wish Choice Home Warranty on my worst enemy.

The technician service was GREAT. However the communication that was sent to me from CHOICE was absolutely terrible and wrong. The email that I received had the wrong day set up for service whereas the technician had it set up for the following day (Not Sunday)! I took off work for Sunday to wait for the technician and after calling CHOICE customer service said it was for Monday. Bad communication.

My refrigerator stopped cooling. The freezer unit, ice maker, lights still worked. I placed a call on a Saturday. A technician was dispatched the following Saturday. He discovered the heating element in the freezer had burnt out which caused ice to build up around the vent that releases cold air to the refrigerator unit. He was able to melt off the ice around the vent which then allowed the refrigerator portion to cool. He is supposed to come back once he has the part to replace the burn-out heating element. Haven't heard yet when that will be.

Air Conditioner and Compressor fan (outside unit) not working, no hot air being expelled by fan and the inside cooling was at a bare minimum. I turned off the whole unit to ensure no further damage would ensue. I called Choice, obtained a claim number, name and phone number of A/C company and a scheduled date and time. The selected technician was on time, knowledgeable, polite, and very professional.

Absolutely pathetic. Our AC stopped working in July 2020. They assigned a technician to replace our AC's furnace coil. However, the technician insists that he hasn't received any "pick up number" from choice home warranty. Whenever we contact one of their representatives, they always end up giving us generic replies that they have escalated this matter to the highest authorities, and that this matter will be solved soon. It's been over 50 days and the problem remains as it is!! We are in Texas, and in the middle of summer where temp reaches up to 100. Absolutely pathetic service.

I have signed up Choice Home Warranty on 8/8/2020 (paid $1750 at a time for 5 years), and cancelled the policy on 8/9/2020, as I heard service is not good from friends. Agent told me I will get money back in 5 to 7 days, I tried calling them many times, when I ask about my money they are simply transferring call and keeping me wait in call for hours and call does not connect, this is one of the worst service I have seen in my life, no proper response.

The burner on indicator red light was on all the time. Even if we didn't use the stove for a week or more. We called CHW. They sent a very nice tech, out. He could not locate the part that was need. He then suggested replacement. He contacted CHW. CHW called us and said they would give us 299.99 for a new stove. We could not find anything near that price. So I appealed it. And CHW came back with approx. 50.00 more. We said ok to that.

When buying your first home, you want to be covered as you learn about owning your first home. You want help, support, guidance, and general ease of use. You won’t get that here. They send out sketchy technicians who bring random day laborers into your home. And then tell you you’ll be fine when you tell them “I'M NOT COMFORTABLE WITH THIS PERSON IN MY HOME. AROUND MY KID AND FAMILY.” And refuse to give you a new technician. Then they give you a new technician who is not licensed to work in your state and when you call again about that, the technician is told “it’s okay, you can still do the work.”
When I told them I could not use my toilet or kitchen sink on the main floor, I was told to use the other floors. When I use the other utilities, they back up into the bottom floor. I haven’t been able to give my child a proper bath in two weeks because sewage backs up into our tubs and sinks. But. BUT!!! Choice said they’re not an emergency service so they can’t help. But if I call an emergency service, they won’t cover if the service doesn’t call CHW first.
Choice has been hell. I can’t speak with a supervisor because “my claim has been escalated” and the case managers are closed on the weekends and I still haven’t gotten any correspondence from a case manager. I just want my money back. I’m paying out of pocket for a real plumber anyways, just pay me back my initial yearly payment.

Phone conversations with A to Z dispatchers regarding appointment time was very professional. The tech “Rocky” arrived on time and assessed the situation and took appropriate action. The technician who responded to the claim was professional, however, he was unable to repair the appliance because he diagnosed it as an electrical problem which was out of his area of expertise. So, here goes another claim along with an additional service fee. This whole scenario I have unfortunately experienced before with this plan. Just a racket for collecting additional monies. The technician is the ONLY POSITIVE experience so far. He was thorough and very polite. Already 12 days and I have NOT HEARD from the case worker for my oven. Left 5 phone messages and 2 emails. The other case worker for the dishwasher did call back. and she also said she would talk to FREIDA. I am extremely dissatisfied with FRIEDA ** for her lack of professionalism in doing her job. Number 1 would be contact the customer. I cannot use my oven/stovetop.

This is my fourth claim to date. My biggest problem with CHW came about with my first claim. Prior to becoming a member of CHW I was a five year member of American Home Shield. I canceled my membership with AHS and went with CHW. I reported two claims in July, one was honored and one was denied. CHW sent a repair company to fix my Air Conditioner. I had nothing to do with the company you sent or their recommendations to fix the problem. You should’ve sent another company to get a second opinion. My Air Condition is still cooling but it over heats and trips the circuit breaker. I’ve turned my complaint over to Massi & Massi Attorneys at Law.

He did the repair in approximately 30 to 40 minutes and show me pictures of the repair and gave me a business card to call if problem persist. Very professional, pleasant and knowledgeable. I phoned Choice concerning my garage door problem. I have a multiple year warranty with Choice. The representative listened as I explained my problem, and he indicated my problem would not be covered. I indicated that I was disappointed regarding the non-coverage. He asked me to wait (hold) and I did. I assumed that he was discussing with his supervisor, and within minutes he came back and gave me a claim number. I printed the claim and waited for the repair person to phone to establish an appointment time. The repair company phoned with a date and a range of time, he would arrive.
At about the prescribed time, the repairman came and reviewed the situation. Inspecting and taking pictures, he indicated it could be fixed, but that Choice Home Warranty would probably decline my claim. I was charged $60 for the consultation. I am unhappy with having to pay $60 for no reason. The Choice representative with his first statement stated the claim was not be within the realm of the warranty. Why did he then set up a claim? I would have not been happy, but at least I would not have been out $60. I am not happy with Choice and the way this was handled. My trust has been greatly diminished in the claims' statements that are advertised and I now know are not necessarily true.

The technician came 2 hours late but that could be because he was busy. The thing I didn't like was all your company made him do a stick some stop leak and put some freon in and leave. Now that may make the problem go away for a short time but I know from past history if you have a leak most of that stuff doesn't work. Now if that's your company's policy my mistake for not knowing that sooner. Other than that the man was very polite and very knowledgeable. He said it will work. I have to trust his judgment.

He arranged to come out earlier in the day, and then he figured out the problem and got the problem fixed right away. The problem seemed to be something about the electric with the air conditioner - I'm not sure, because I don't understand those problems. Anyway, he fixed it and the air conditioning unit is working once again, which is what I care about most.

I have not had my warranty for very long but it’s ok. If they feel it was pre existing it won’t be covered. We have had 3 services and 1 was denied and told our condenser Coil were damaged. We contacted the dispute person assigned to us and never heard back after several attempts. Paid someone else and he fixed our A/C and it was not the coils. It was the gauges. But a gentleman came and fixed our garbage disposal. He communicated great and was timely. Then our toilet started leaking in the floor and the first technician car broke down and when we rescheduled we never heard back. Made a new appointment and the next technician came but toilet leaked after he left. Called. He came back out and it’s still leaking. I will contact Choice but technician says that toilet will need to be replaced and Choice doesn't cover it. We just purchased our home in March. Had inspections done so things are not pre existing.

(08/13/2020): Question: Why did you deny my case? I really want to know! Please explain. In previous communication I learned because of section F, option 8 described why. What exactly made you make this decision? Rust? Fire? Surge? Landslide? Force majeure situations? None of this applied to my case. "8. We are not liable for repair of conditions caused by chemical or sedimentary build up, rust or corrosion, mildew, mold, misuse or abuse, failure to clean or maintain as specified by the equipment manufacturer, missing parts, structural changes, fire, freezing, electrical failure or surge, water damage, lightning, mud, earthquake, soil movement, soil settlement, settling of home, storms, accidents, pest damage, acts of God, or failure due to excessive or inadequate water pressure."
Where did you get the surge word from? From me at the initial call about to open a claim? No! From initial inspection by your trusted subcontractor Island Breeze AC? No, I have a copy of the report. So you made a conclusion on your own brain to make my claim denial! Am I right? I did appeal the case for reconsideration, because I noticed more problematic statements with the opening initial case. Lady wrote down electrical problems, circuit breaker, etc. No, she didn't hear those words from me. When I called, I said my AC was not working and I stopped it because I saw smoke going from the grill. How she determined that I am not covered with Choice home insurance? We don't even know by then what is causing the issue and what is broke and what is not.
Sean ** was introduced to me to take over my case and willing to chat about the case. Unfortunately I can't contact Sean because he is not answering the phone that was provided to me and 4 times I have to leave a message. After that I have to be on hold for more than 2 hours to speak with Diego, so Diego can leave a message to Sean ** to call me. Finally the next day Sean called me to explain that the decision was made in the first place and to stay the same.
I reminded Sean ** that I am a loyal customer of Choice Home Warranty and pay my part in full every month for a very long period of time. Indeed I used your company to fix a couple things in the past. And everything was fine then. I reminded Sean ** that I am with broken AC already 6 days from last Thursday and all that I heard from you is "your case denied". I reminded Sean ** that Choice Home Warranty is for my peace of mind in case of an unfortunate event, and they should fix it or replace it. That was before and it worked. I remind Sean ** that so far you told me about protecting your butt and telling me that you are not covering my case.
I remind to Sean ** that company (Case manager) don't even care in what situation your client right now (6 days without AC with wife, son, and cat - Florida on August!!!), Client doesn't have an idea when problem will be fixed, nor who, nor what is broken!!! No communication to the customer about the update of the case. Besides Sean ** assigned to your case (who doesn't even want to speak with you in the first place, how will Sean ** take care of me in the future???) Sean ** was laughing to the phone with all that I said about the expectation from the case manager to take care of the customer. He could apologize, play good guy, tighten hands by company policies, instructions, etc. No, he just laughed. He was speechless.
I am wondering what is happening to your company and who was training your case manager Sean **? If he is the face of your company, I will say the opposite. Customer service representatives are very nice and trained to take care of the customer with care and possible power they have. But the case manager needs more training and guidance. Just my opinion.
I called Island Breeze AC and asked how fast we can fix the issue. Same day on Thursday 12/13/2020 they came and fixed my AC. They submitted a bill to Choice Home Warranty and instantly was rejected by the company. I am wondering how fast management reacts on bills and how impossible it is to get attention from the case manager about the issue? I am awaiting a response for my quick note from your Good Manager with an explanation why we are still in this case? I paid my part of $54.18 for the total plan, I paid $60 for a co-pay to the subcontractor to fix the issue. I did pay today $525 to repair my AC (your part). Please explain why I should still be your member and not walk away to another company? Please help.

My son signed me up for this and I'm so happy he did. I was with a different company a couple of years ago and you would sit on the phone forever waiting for help and then it would be a company from out of town and had no idea what they were doing! I didn't think I needed this because, most of my appliances, w/dryer, hot water heater and heat and air are just 2 years old. Well guess what my 2 year old washer went out!

I found Water Heater Central to be very knowledgeable, professional and honest. They explained the repairs in great detail and offered solutions and answered all of my questions. As a result, I have a greater understanding of my plumbing problem as a homeowner.

I put a trouble call into Choice Home Warranty about my dishwasher operation failure. The person at Choice was courteous and professional. She gave me The name of the company doing the repair, and a date to Expect the repair person to arrive at my house. Easy process without a long hold time on the phone.

The gentleman from Anthony and Son Air Quality was the best tech you’ve sent out this far. He wasn’t here just to collect the service fee, he actually fixed the problem. Although Choice doesn’t care about the quality of the equipment, therefore, they did not cover the fee, I and my 80 year old mother can sleep at night without being awakened by the noise. The tech also explained how to operate the thermostat to cut my electricity bill and make the system work more efficiently. Excellent work Anthony and Son. If ever I have another problem, I need that tech to come back bc he cares.

Washer broke. It was fixed in 2 days and the technician was pleasant and prompt and I am satisfied. I will recommend this service to my friends. I was able to use the washer in 2 days. I am happy with the service.

Due to Covid-19 could not speak with a customer service rep. Since you could not find a plumber I was advised to find a plumber, which I did, and fixed the problem that afternoon, 8/15/2020 at 3:30 pm. Had to pay invoice when job was complete, amount was $152.50 which I did. Further work needs to be done. Pipe underground moved and needs to be replaced. Waiting for estimate from Brian's Plumbing.

Choice Home Warranty acted promptly to my needs. My washing machine broke and they were able to set up an appointment the same day that I called them. The contractor came a few days later. Unfortunately, he said it needs to be replaced. The service contractor was very professional and knowledgeable. Just waiting to hear back from Choice.

Great job. Fixed the toilet problem and made sure all parts were working well before the Technician left. He also asked if there was anything else I needed or any concerns I had about the plumbing problem. The Technician arrived within his time frame and was very professional.
