Submitted a garbage disposal issue claim online and the service person came next day it got resolved within 36 hours. Great service. Great value and good customer service. The customer service person does not put a call on hold. They follow up with the customer all the time. And the communication is great.

I came home from vacation and my tankless hot water heater was not working. So I called on a Monday morning and so far everything is good. They have sent out the request to get it fixed. So now I wait for the technician to get hold of me.

My garage door stopped working, technician came out and said the trolley was bad. Unfortunately, this $20 part was not covered. Fixed it myself. It took a total of less than 10 minutes to complete the job, The door opener works perfectly now.

I have used Choice Home Warranty and I found them to be easy to work with and problems handled in a timely fashion. Parts were needed to fix the dishwasher & installed, stopped up basement drain & humidifier leak fixed in a timely fashion.

My microwave was deemed broken so in order to "replace" it I was given $169 after paying a $65 service fee. Basically that's $100 for a $300 microwave. I'm very disappointed in the outcome of this situation. The technician was very helpful though.

Response was fast. I could barely understand the person on the phone. He spoke very hard to understand. I recommend someone who speaks better. I really like Choice. Have been a member since 2017. Every time I have called the response has been very good.

I received word immediately that an appointment with a repair vendor had been arranged. The vendor called with an earlier opening, arrived on time, diagnosed the problem, requested approval for necessary parts which Choice Warranty immediately OKed. My repairs were completed within a day and a half and my system is running well. Thank You Choice Warranty!!

The election came on time and fixed the problem and checked for other possible problems. Great communication. Payment was easy. Work was done quickly. He even came on a Sunday which was nice due to my work schedule. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing electronic work.

My water heating started leaking and called Choice, they sent out a plumber. Plumber advised water heater needed to be replaced because it was leaking. Choice denied my claim advising the issue was preexisting. Escalated my claim and called my claims representative. Left two voice messages and an email with no response. How can Choice determine the issue is preexisting when the issue started a day after I called and reported the issue. I was on hold waiting for a representative for more than 30 min and cant even get a call back from my case representative. Choice was ranked one of the top warranty companies which is why I went with them. This is extremely disappointing and unfair of Choice. I will not recommend Choice and will be sure I post my comments on the BBB.

I have numerous houses with different warranty service companies. I have been very impressed with numerous claims. They seem to really take time to hand select the contractors. The contractors are willing to take the payments over the phone, work with vacant houses and lock boxes. It makes it easy.

I appreciate they fixed our AC system and Choice Warranty found a AC company right away. But the ac company took 3 days to come fix it. Which is way too long to be without AC in Florida. But thank you though.

On a very hot Sunday, I woke up to no A/C. I went online and requested service. Within 20 minutes I had an appt for 7a.m. the next day BUT the technician called and said he was available to fix the A/C on Sunday afternoon. What a great turn of luck. The technician that Choice had chosen fixed our problem by mid afternoon on Sunday. We were very grateful to Choice and the service company.

The service technician saw what the problem was and try to fix it, unfortunately the part that was needed, a capacitor, was not on the truck for it was one that seldom goes, he told me that he had to order the capacitor and that it may take a day or to, he was true to his words, and in a couple of days he came back and finish the job. If ever I need a Technician please send him, don't know his name but he was good, knew his job and did it well.

Technician John C. from StevenKing Heating and Cooling was thorough, efficient and did an excellent job of explaining what was happening, why my AC stopped working, what to watch for and to call him if it happened again within the next 30 days. He also offered suggestions as to what might happen in the near future and possible solutions. John also followed COVID protection rules which is important to me.

Placed a request to repair a leaking exterior hose bib. It took a about three days which is longer than I expected to get a tech assigned, but JJ picked it up and travel quite a ways from south Baltimore to get to the job on a Sat. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. Did the repair quickly and with high quality. He even took the time to wait the hour for the approval hotline to open before he was able to start the job. All well done.

We live in Arizona and I had surgery on Friday and to my surprise came home to the A/C in our home was out. It was approximately 112 degrees. I contacted Choice Home Warranty and they put in the order immediately. Despite we had to get a room, for our family, including our dogs, they assigned our claim to an amazing technician. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much they could do, because of the store was closed and procedure. We are still in a hotel and awaiting an approval and to get the A/C fixed so we can return home. There’s no place like home.

I went online to review policies. Gary called me and told me I couldn’t see the policy until I signed up and paid with my credit card. I had requested to review the policy first. The policy has too many exemptions and the service time can take 4 days. My current policy with a different company is better. I want this canceled - I called To cancel. Was told I had to talk to Gary again. Gary called, I asked to cancel. He said I’d have to call Monday and talk to resolutions. I want the policy canceled now. I’ve seen the lawsuits filed against your company 2019 and fraud - I want a refund and canceled.

Received a call from the company ten minutes prior to them showing up letting me know they were on their way. The two gentlemen showed up within the window of time as specified listened to all the past problems that the AC unit had. They checked out the system and was able to identify and correct the issue within 10 minutes. Very polite, thorough, and quick; they are worth using again for any issues I have.

As soon as I declined the 6 year extension of the 1 year policy I was requesting, I could not be rushed off the phone quickly enough. I requested an email address where I could send a copy of my existing policy and I was told that I would get an email with my new policy information and to just reply to that email. Well, guess what!!! It was a "no reply" email address. I still don't know if you were able to receive the copy of my existing policy or not. For three years I have had peace of mind with Choice Home Warranty. From the first few months in my home, I had coverage every time I needed. After my first year I renewed for three more years of coverage, and I am glad to have made the decision. Technician was inconsiderate to appointment time and showed up 2 hours later than scheduled appointment. He did not complete the work, even assured by us that the claim will be approved. Asked us to pay for repairs and then, if approved, will refund us our money. When we had similar issues in the past, technician would always complete the repairs on the same day. These people seem unprofessional and uncomfortably personal.

The repairman seemed to fix the problem with our ice maker and it lasted about a week. Now it is not dispensing the ice again. I will be calling them back on Monday. I don't want to have to pay another service charge to have them come back out.

Trying to submit the proposal or bill was very difficult-Customer service via the phone at Choice Warranty was frustrating-The service tech was wonderful that came to the house-Still uncertain if the bill was ever received-Would be nice to be able to fax it. Brian from 5 Star Air came to my house as scheduled, he immediately found the problem to my air-conditioner. He had to order the necessary part and will return to replace it. I received an email that A5 Star will return to replace the part Friday, September 4, 2020. Brian was very kind and professional. My only disappointment was when I started your company I was assured that I was able to use my own technician which I was not able to do with this order. I would like to know that in the future I can use my own technician.

I called to have my washer repaired. Tech showed up several days later to determine the problem. After ordering the necessary part he returned several days later to complete the repair. Washer now works like new and I am very pleased with the repair.

I called CHW with an issue concerning the outlet for my stove. Within 24hrs, I knew that someone would be fixing the problem. The electricians that came explained what the problem was and what they had to do to fix it. They were very nice and had it fixed in no time. Thanks for helping with this problem.

Never got someone assigned for several days. Very frustrated/disappointed. I called for two separate incidents after paying for a long time. One was AC issue in 100 plus degree temp. 6 days later I got call. We finished it on 3rd day. 2nd time. Gas leak. Called. 5 days later already called someone to fix the emergency.

Mike from J & L Plumbing was great. He called 15 minutes before he came, on time. Mike came to the entrance I told him, wearing a mask, neat & clean, very politely introduced himself while still outside & waited to be asked in. He wore his mask while here which made me more comfortable as I also wore mine so we were both protected. Mike quickly assessed my problem, explained the situation, took photos, then explained the process to get it replaced as there was no fixing it. He quietly & politely left then. Our meeting was brief but I hope he is the same person who comes to install the replacement.

I have a water leak under my home. Choice Home Warranty said it was not a good complaint. Repair was refused. I say the leak is a good complaint and should be repaired by Choice Warranty. I have been insured with Choice Warranty for several years and have never had this problem before. I would like to have this problem resolved.

Finally on August 10... 96 hours I heard from Choice and said they were trying to find a technician... Later that day got another email saying they were having trouble and if I could find my own technician they would reimburse in 30 days. If they were having trouble, I thought I would not have a chance.
August 18, get email at 6am saying a technician would be there later that day by 8pm. Sent note to Choice to confirm and got email back saying NO it will be the next day 7-11am but could call the technician to confirm which I did. Yes he would be there by 8pm on the 18th not the 19th. Back to Choice and they finally called themselves and yes agreed it was today. Just seemed like inexperienced people who were relying on some poor data of what was going on. Technician came. Good guy. Did a great job of checking out the AC. 12 days after we had the problem so thank goodness was not that hot. Anyway, not a great experience and am sure Covid is causing Choice and many companies unusual challenges which hopefully will take seriously and work hard to improve customer response time.

When I ask for an specific company witch I deal before C.S. Person didn’t help out. You should allow tech to call on the spot and authorize the repair on the spot, so I don’t have to wait 6-7 hrs to see if it’s OK to do the repair... But Air Master company did an super job.

The quick response of CHW to fix our AC was fantastic. CHW Technician, Bob B AC. LLC was dispatched for the same afternoon on the day I made the claim. In AZ that is unheard of! Bob assessed the issue and did the repairs in less than 24 hours. The value and service provided by CHW and their approved technicians are top-notch.

Our Ac unit went out sometime Friday night or Saturday morning. We filed our claim online right away. Mind you we live in Texas. It took 4 days for a repair. It was very hot in the home, almost unbearable. The online process is easy. But having to wait that long for AC repair when it's 90 plus degrees outside is awful. Choice offered a reimbursement option, however not knowing the reason why the AC went out, we didn’t want to pay out of pocket for the repair and wait to be paid back, even if the service would have been quicker. It just wasn’t financially feasible. The tech they sent though was punctual, and knew exactly the issue we were having right away. He even explained how to fix the issues next time and left us an extra part. 100% loved that tech. Overall service could have been dispatched sooner. But in the end repairs were made and we just paid the deductible.

Few hours hours after submitting a claim I received an email with the technician information. The technician was very knowledgeable and diagnosed the problem and fixed the air Conditioning issue. This was awesome as the temperature was in the 90s.

The dryer has not been repaired yet, as a part has to be ordered. However, the technician appeared to be very professional, knowledgeable, and of great integrity. He is also the technician I have chosen to repair my washer, as well. Also, he has been assigned to repair my garage. Hopefully, I will be back in operation before too long.

I Had appt with plumber from 3-8pm on Fri the 28th. They never updated the account and they never called or showed up. When I called at 7:30, it went straight to voicemail. This is the second contractor to do this.

Place claim for hvac house ducts to be checked. Claim rep. made aware of A/C working properly (only 1 year old) but A/C was not coming thru some vents. Hvac serviceman was sent out who can't check or replace ducts. That was a waste of service charge.

We had our AC unit not working for a day. I logged a ticket and got a call from technician with 4 hours and we scheduled the time for him to come over. He came over within 30 mins. He was such a professional, knowledgeable guy to deal with. Our compressor was out. He replaced it in 15 mins. Tested the system multiple times to our satisfaction.

I need to make it very clear I had to do Choice Home Warranty job and look for my own tech. Finding a tech was easy. Not sure why CHW had such a hard time. But I did go with A/C Designs. They are the ones who installed and maintenance our A/C. They are always nice, understanding and very easy to work with. There are no surprises and they are honest. They put the customers first and make sure to get the job done. We are very disappointed with CHW and the way they do business. There is no consistency. I think more training needs to be done on policies and customer service. So all my 5 star rating go to A/C Designs not CHW.

The drum on my dryer would not turn and smoke presented with an electrical burn smell. The Repairman from Chesapeake Services was friendly, knowledgable and prompt. Our repairman explained what had happened and why it happened in a manner that we could understand.

The technician from Sears who came to my home was professional and knowledgeable. He was unable to repair the appliance and CHW determines that it was more cost effective to replace it. Sadly this is where my experience went downhill. I waited 5 business days to receive a call to discuss this from “my personal case manager”. That is excessively delayed response time. I called general customer service and the person I spoke to was unable or unwilling to assist me sooner and insisted that I go through the case manager I couldn’t get ahold of.
As a side note, when I spoke to the customer service person it was very poor call quality- I could hear children yelling and crying in the background which made it difficult to hear her. The initial offer to replace my super capacity Kenmore washer was $299. I was finally able to receive a call back late Friday and discuss my concerns with the case manager that $299 doesn’t actually even cover a used washer at current prices. We ended up settling on $499. The comparable model I purchased on sale ended up costing me $750 once tax and hoses were factored in. I was not satisfied with the $499 as the way the contract was sold to me was “repair or replace” yet they were unable to repair and only partially agreed on the funds to replace.
Overall I’d say it’s nice to have some of the costs of appliance repair and replacement covered but they misled during contract sales and the customer service department is 1 Star at best. The technicians are subcontractors and usually do a very good job. It’s a 50/50 shot on how each interaction goes. At times I’ve been quite pleased with the warranty and others have been a disaster. I won’t renew my contract once it runs out.

Ice formed on back wall of the refrigerator. The tech reset all the temperature levels and said to unplug it and let the ice melt, dry it out and turn it back on. I will see if that works. If not then I will call back.

Satisfied with the help desk, but not totally satisfied with the waiting for the technician to set up the appointment. I am going to be for the total of 4 days without the ability to use the toilet, washing dishes, shower, etc. etc. At the present time I still waiting for the technician.

Jose, came and assessed the situation. Replaced the toilet guts and for the most part, noise disappeared. That our hot water heater needs replacement because of age and bottom pan has water and rust. Took pictures to verify and show Choice Warranty.

They came to repair the leak, however I still have not had my sheetrock & texture repaired nor has anyone called me to schedule any follow up. I would expect someone to follow up. I did call and was told once the plumber informed Choice then I would be contacted to continue the repairs of the damage from the water leak.

The person who assisted me was so kind and extremely professional, the issue visit of Kendrick electrics was tremendous. In fact all first trips by repair persons are excellent, it's the time after. The 1st trips are always great but it's the time frame after is where my problems stem from like Kendrick electrics came out some days ago but having to throw out all my food in the fridge and freezer sides was hard.
I thought hurricane Laura would affects us, and knock out the power but we're nearly miss it hitting us by a fraction but my fridge been out before it hit so I had nothing else to lose. It's hard living without a refrigerator waiting for a response from Choice warranty but my overall experience with Choice warranty would be a 9 out of 10. Still high it's just takes so. Long and gas always taken a long time now adding Covid 19 makes it just that much harder but I would still recommend CHOICE warranty the help me twice when I have fallen on hard times and they stand by their customers time and time again.

Lia Lee Heating and Air said the coils needed cleaning. That seems the only problem. Lia Lee Service charged an outrageous price. The cleaning was with an acid base. They said they told Richard the price before service but Richard didn’t hear him as he has a hearing problem. A normal cleaning cost $899.00 less discounts $558.73. Total price with service fee, labor and tax $679.70. We had no idea that we would be charged to our credit card for this much. I called to get the invoice and discussed the issue with the service man and then he said he called “his boss” for any discounts possible. The price of $679.70 reflects this discount. I informed the service man that I would be giving them a bad report and he understood.

I purchased Choice Home Warranty May 2020. My A/C went out in July and I live in GA so you know it is hot during this time. They refused to fix my A/C unit even though it is supposed to be covered in my warranty. They said that the issue must have been going on for a while. My A/C unit was working until July so I don't understand why they wouldn't cover it. I also had an issue with my water and they refused to cover that as well. Why do I need this warranty if every time I put in a claim I get denied. I would not recommend this warranty company and I will not be renewing.

Ollendick Construction sent out "Parker" a technician to take care of our service call. Parker went above and beyond to try and locate the source of the problem. It was never found, however we will keep a lookout in case it gets worse. Parker searched the entire area and found no evidence of wetness.

4 companies had to be dispatched. 1st company technicians were rude, 2nd company showed up without calling and no one was there so they canceled appointment, 3rd company never submitted paperwork to system so 4th company had to be dispatched. This took place over 2 and a 1/2 weeks in the middle of summer in Texas with air conditioner working. The 4th company came, assessed a 31 year old air conditioner and my claim was denied due to lack of maintenance and care. I believe Choice Home Warranty collects your money and looks for ways to decline a claim or to make you so frustrated that you give up. I would never recommend this to anyone that I knew.

The Technician Mr. Issac M ** called ahead and came as expected. He add Freon and installed additional capacitors. For that he charged me $325 separately in addition to the $45. AC Capacitor cost about $45. It is a highway robbery. It is not fair to customers.

Customer service response failed to acknowledge content of multiple letters sent day after a/c problem filed. Need better English speaking representatives. CHW advised multiple times for me to go out and find contractor, using their reimbursement system, a tedious and time consuming process. A/C problem ultimately resolved when CHW found someone located 1 hour away to come and work on A/C the following afternoon. Problem resolved at that time.

The plumber arrived and ran a snake through the Kitchen sink clean out line. Upon completion he stated the line had so much gunk it needed to be power washed. He called for permission from Choice for the needed procedure. Choice Warranty said they would not cover the cost. The drain clogged back up the same night and left us with a sink that would not drain. My wife and I are quite elderly and live on Social Security, that is the reason for purchasing the warranty. We purchased the warranty believing that we were going with the best warranty company. I feel that your ads with George Foreman are deceptive. I am now waiting for the pluming company to return so we can use our sink.

It seems air conditioner mechanics do not do home warranties around here, but I found my own at Armstrong and Sons. They came out the next day and filled the freon up and it is working for now. Due to a leak it will only last a little while. I am waiting for reimbursement and a new system as mine cannot be fixed, so l am told. I had a good experience with Choice Home Warranty. Filling out my claim was fairly easy. The technician, Caiden, was prompt and courteous. He checked both thermostats, the HVAC, and then proceeded to work on the air conditioning unit outside. He found that a wire had burned and the capacitor was blown. He repaired my system, and it was up and running. I am happy with the prompt and courteous way he carried himself.

Our water leak problem was stated as an emergency, and we were not alerted as to the service provider that was scheduled to come, no email, no call, and when we called back to see what was happening we were given an appointment that was over 48 hours later, they then told us that they could try to get someone to us sooner, that never happened, again, no phone call, no email, I finally had to call the plumber myself and beg to get them to come earlier, meanwhile a ton of damage was done to our house...not great, in fact I am seriously considering cancelling our policy.

The 2nd repairman you sent was very good. It took a while to find the right compressor on the condo roof where many units are installed. He had the necessary equipment with him to locate the right unit which took a while in very hot, humid weather. We were very appreciative of his persistence. It went back being on a few minutes then proceeded to shut off after several minutes, still making noise. Call Choice the home warranty, they sent a plumber. He check out the order he had. The tech was very good and was training another tech. He identified the problem and the solution but did not have the part on his truck. He ordered the part while on site on Friday August 21st and said it would arrive within 2 or 3 business days. A follow up appointment is scheduled for Monday the 31st. He warned that I should check that the part is not broken when it arrives as UPS drivers tend to throw the parcels and can break the ceramic burner. 4 business days later and the part has still not arrived!!!! So the stove top burner has been out of service for 2 weeks and not sure it will be repaired during the 3rd week!

This has been a horrible experience. We have been without AC 4 days in temperatures over 100. The repair company came out and diagnosed the problem, Choice was not willing to pay the full amount of the repair. I had to call numerous times and was not told the truth. Choice said it didn’t have diagnosis, the repair company said they called it in. My renter finally called a repair company and is having it fixed and sending me the receipt. I got an e-mail that it has been reassigned, but my renter can’t wait several more days. I am not happy about this service at all and sure hope I will be reimbursed.

The leak was detected by the technician in my upright freezer. The technician that came here wanted to charge me for the first visit, what was not part of my agreement, and he also wanted to charge more the established amount and he accepted only cash. What I was prepared for. When I first called him to confirm my address, he hanged up on me, because I informed him about my first visit waiving fee stipulated in my agreement. I tried to call him on the next day and he insisted on the charging. I agreed and then he came, but tried to overcharge me. But at the end the freezer problem was solved by the warranty company.

We called Choice Home Warranty about 7:30AM that our A/C was not keeping up and it was supposed to be another 97° day. They got back to me via email in a few minutes with order # and that a contractor would be contacting me to set up appt. Heating & A/C contacted me soon after that they could come the next day between 11AM and 3PM, then they called a little before noon the same day, and said they were on their way to our house. The worst service from CHW. It took 14 calls to claims consultant with 5 of them telling me they were going expedite getting tech. to my house, and to hold, then hanging up on me. It took took 10 days to get tech to house. I tried to find tech or AC company myself and use reimbursement, but many AC companies said they would that day, but would not work CHW, because they were so difficult to work with.
I will never recommend CHW, and I am telling my friends about the terrible service, or no service and telling them to cancel CHW policy and find another home warranty co.. I wish I could contact George Foreman who says how great CHW and tell him stop doing your commercial on TV... It is a total lie. I had to pay $113 per night for hotel room, my child could not stay in house without AC while temp. over 95 degrees in Pendleton SC in Aug. CHW has taken my money every month for over 6 yrs. and then when I needed you you failed, You lie and have such poor service.

We had called 6 different repair establishments, and were disappointed that they did not repair LG dryers. We finally called the LG dryer organization, and they told us about repairmen in Green Bay, Appleton and Thorp. Thorp was the closest city to us (though about 90 miles away). At 1st, my wife and I were not happy about the waiting for a e-mail or phone call from the company or a company to fix our AC. But then when we received an e-mail stating that we could go outside the warranty program and hire a contractor/company on our own it was now good news for us. We were able to call Fountain Valley Mechanical immediately and within 2-3 hours have our AC back-up and running again. We appreciate that kind of support from Choice Home Warranty. This block is not big enough to handle this complaint. We have 30 pages of notes and E-mails form your service? Personnel and our claim is still not resolved. One month to fix a leaking hose inside our washer is not service. We have waited for hours to talk to a rep and been cut off numerous times. Some reps were nasty and were not customer oriented. We were lied to in at least 4 cases by reps that had no idea what they were talking about. Even after asking numerous times we could never reach a rep in the US that could give us straight answers. Your whole program is totally disjointed.

It was fine - except it took a long time to dispatch a plumber - an automated call at 8:30pm and the plumber was given the wrong information about the leak - he was told it was a ceiling leak rather than a leak behind the tub.

Our AC went out on a Friday (of course). We submitted a claim that afternoon, and by Saturday morning they had dispatched our ticket to a repair company. We were quickly notified that the tech would arrive on Sunday morning (yes, a Sunday morning). He ordered the new fan motor on Monday. It came in on Tuesday and was installed that day.

At this point the Technician had to order parts for our unit, so we are waiting another 10 days for the repair parts to come in and him to finish the repair. Sept. 4, 2020 target date. This is the second time we've had to call Choice Warranty for this repair of our washer. Besides our monthly payments, we've already had to pay a total $130.00 and still waiting for the repair of our washer.

At the time of purchasing this coverage, we expressed our desire to have sump pump coverage. We were told it could be extra. We agreed to pay extra and thought this was included in the annual fee. It was not explained at any time that the sump pump had to be a certain type. When this service was required they denied the claim stating wrong type and extra fee was not added. I do not believe either of these reason were our mistake. They were not carried out as we requested. We were led to believe that we had coverage added for a sump pump.

Laszlos Plumbing Co. was dispatched to diagnose and repair a leak that seemed to be coming from underneath the baseboard behind our toilet. Our technician was wonderful. Turned out there were two different leaks that happened simultaneously. Not only was he professional, courteous and very good with finding and fixing the problems, he also took us outside to the water box to show us how to find out whether there's more than one leak. Very impressed with this young man. To be honest, past service calls have not been well handled but this time the time from claim submission to completion was great.

All I knew was I was having problems with my air conditioner coming up to temp and turning off. The technician came out, checked the thermostat and even though it was new (I had already replaced it), he said it wasn't working properly and ordered a new one. He was polite, professional and on time.

Choice Home Warranty emailed me a service appointment date 6 days in the future (during a high heat wave in Utah) to service my non-function air conditioning unit. I contacted the service provider who was able to service my air conditioning unit 4 hours later. The service technician was great and quickly resolved the problem. I can't imagine what it would have been like to wait for 6 days if I hadn't called the technician's company. Lesson learned: Don't rely on Choice Warranty to schedule speedy service.

Our air conditioner stopped cooling. This is a huge problem when you live in 114 degree weather, and it was 111 degrees out. I went online and used my online account to log in and submit a request for service on Monday evening. Tuesday morning at 7am I had a call from Choice HW to let me know the company that would be servicing the unit and the time frame of when they would come. An hour later I received a call from the company and they said they would be there even sooner. The process was easy. It only cost me 75 dollars to have the service provider come and fix the problem. Great first experience!

The process of putting a claim in online was fast and easy. I received a confirmation right away with a claim number. Later that day I received an e-mail with an appointment date with the name name and number of company coming to check on problem. Raw Electric was quick, friendly and very efficient. This experience was very frustrating and below my expectations. First tech said it was an issue you would not fix. I appealed and your representative was unresponsive. She sent an email but did not answer phone calls. The appointment was rescheduled with an email only, with 5 hours notice (6am notice, 11 am appt). The tech arrived at 5:15. He was able to fix the problem by 5:30. Difficulty in communicating made this experience very frustrating. A good outcome is the only bright spot. I will consider this experience, as well as future experiences when the time comes for renewal.

Motor was burned out and he replaced the fan and light ASAP!! Clean, respectful and did a terrific job! The deductible I paid was well worth it!

I was happy with the service I received, The only drawback was that the service man did not have a timer for my dryer and it had to be shipped to my home. I would think that something as common as a timer would be on hand. It will be 9 days delay in getting my dryer running again! Updated on 09/17/2020: After 2 days of several frustrating phone calls where we held for up to 45 minutes we were told to get our own plumber because they could not locate one in our area. Just email the bill. And we would be reimbursed. So we did just that. The bill was $400.00 and guess what? At first they said we did not have permission to get our own plumber and finally after proving to them that they said We could do that. Then they said half of it wasn’t covered, disgusted I cancelled my contract and guess what? They said since I cancelled I could not be reimbursed for the bill even though the bill was incurred while I had coverage. Who needs a warranty when it covers nothing and it’s impossible to get help from them?
Original Review: Their high rating and reviews have to be made up. They were almost impossible to reach by phone. We waited up to 40 minutes several times. They claimed they could not find a plumber so we could get our own. Then they said I did not get permission for my own plumber. The email they provided did not work, they never returned my calls, finally they reviewed the bill and half of it wasn’t covered, why would you have a warranty only to give you 2 works worth of aggravation on top of your problem. Worse company I ever dealt with. And THEY LIE!

Signed up with them as we had several systems in our home that were getting older. We even asked the phone rep about the age of our systems and he indicated that it was NOT an issue. After we paid thousands for a multi-year contract and waited the required time (30 days after July 3, 2020) we suddenly had a failure of our tankless hot water system. We filed a claim which was immediately denied. I should point out here that a contractor hired by the home warranty folks came to our home to evaluate the system. The evaluation consisted of him taking a short look at the brand of system installed and immediately informing me that the system was beyond hope. No checks, no tests no nothing except he would be happy to replace it for $3,500.00. We appealed and it too was denied.
It seems whether you know it or not, if your system fails, you should have known it and taken care of it yourself. I quote from their denial, "We are not responsible for known or unknown pre-existing conditions." Please tell me how I am supposed to know about an "unknown" pre-existing condition. Sounds like the old "Catch-22". We then registered our dissatisfaction and requested a refund. After a lengthy discussion, not always pleasant, they agreed to a refund with some charges withheld. This was on Thursday, August 20, 2020. They have yet to process the refund nor is there any method allowed to communicate with these thieves. It should be noted that they charged our account the same day we initially signed up.

This company is a joke! We did not do our homework and read reviews. Realtor threw out Choice Home Warranty as an option due to older appliances in the home we were buying and we went with them thinking they would do their job. But they have done everything but do their job. They are difficult and rude. We had 2 claims - dishwasher and refrigerator with both leaking from underneath appliance. The dishwasher was pretty clear cut... someone came out fixed the problem and the issue was resolved. We did have to wait a few days for the repair man but really you can wash dishes by hand - no biggie.
When our refrigerator started leaking underneath we called and were told they would give us the number to call someone to come and fix the problem. Again this took a couple of days but we were able to get someone out. The repair man said the leak was actually due to the ice maker. Choice refused to pay for the repair stating the ice maker is not technically a part of the refrigerator/freezer. Repair man also stated he noticed teflon on the icemaker and recommended this gets fixed because teflon on ice cubes is not safe. We had to fight Choice on this and eventually they paid but we had to put in many phone calls and our own time when this shouldn't have been this hard.
I can't say that we spoke to any one person who was kind. My husband and I found the representatives and their supervisors to be rude and condescending, a far cry from the "salesman" we initially spoke to when we were asking about policy information. They conveniently left out such exclusions and honestly this as the first home warranty company we have ever used and just didn't know the questions to ask. The company who handled our refrigerator repair told us that Choice Home Warranty declines payment on the majority of their claims. She had no good words regarding working with Choice Home Warranty. They advertise no hassle and great coverage and just the opposite is true. Home Choice paid for the repair but we can't use the ice maker. I know for some that this wouldn't be a big deal but it's really the principle.
I guess being someone who has never had a Warranty company - we didn't know the right questions to ask but I feel like they should tell you there are exclusions such as ice maker when they are on the phone schmoozing you into purchasing a home warranty. We are now at the end of our warranty. We've received 3 calls in the last couple of months asking if we would like to renew. Each time we have said no thank you to the representatives and have explained the difficulty we have had.
Today we receive a bill on our Capital One for a monthly payment??? I called just prior to sitting down to write this review. I explained we have received calls and want to decline moving forward with Choice. Representative sent me to the cancellation department and I explained we were charged and wanted this refunded as we have made it abundantly clear we will not be using their services [or lack thereof] anymore.
The representative asked why we were canceling so I told him of the difficulty with the refrigerator and the ice maker not being a part of the unit. The man actually laughed at me and said that ice makers are a "luxury" and if had opted to pay more they would have fixed the ice maker. He continued to laugh at me and so I told him to just cancel. I let him know that we have had nothing but rude representatives that really do not care about clients and that they should not have charged us for renewal when we have told them 3 times over the phone we did not want to move forward.
I am sure there are better Home Warranty Companies out there. DO NOT GIVE CHOICE HOME WARRANTY YOUR MONEY. ESSENTIALLY WE LOST $800! THEY ARE BEYOND WORTHLESS!! After reading some of the reviews I realize ours is not an isolated incident and that this is how they work. I only wish that we had cancelled earlier and received a prorated credit - I did not think we could do this as we had agreed to a 1 year contract. I guess I am just grateful we did not get the 3 year contract.
