When Choice determined that my dryer was not worth repairing, but instead they would replace it, they offered me money for me to purchase it myself. Sounds like a fair deal... no? They offered me $299. There is NO dryer on the retail market that costs $299. I declined the offer and was given a claims specialist to work with. She increased my monetary allowance to $500. Do your research. There is still no $500 gas dryer on the retail market.
They are required, as per their liability clause, to replace the appliance with one of equal capacity and features not size make or model. Which is fine. However, when I pointed out that the cheapest retail dryer of similar capacity and features was $768, (on sale), I was told the money given is based on what THEY can get as a company not retail. SOOO how does that help me as the customer? Although I pay my yearly $ to Choice, and upkeep my systems as required, I am now still out almost $300 PLUS installation and haul away fees. (Next loophole: if they don't purchase the appliance, they don't have to pay to have it installed.) If you're just looking for a company to fix routine plumbing blocks and minor repairs, it's fine (though many times I am required to find my own repair person, pay out of pocket and get reimbursed). However, if you expect replacement of a broken appliance with a reasonable response, think twice.

Dean, the electrician, is very nice, and communicates well by text and phone. Your company, however, did not respond to initial emails or phone calls for at least two weeks. It required persistent efforts to finally get a claim filed, and for Dean to come to the house.

I called early in the morning and a appointment was made just in an hour very fast. Plumber should arrive today. Same day service. They were very courteous and efficient. The faucet is not working in the kitchen, very inconvenient.

The Garcia Bros. did a good job of diagnosing the issue. Called ahead and let me know he was coming, showed up on time and quickly got into troubleshooting the freezer. Now waiting on Choice to determine if the repair is economical or not.

Electrician came, he was very polite and professional. He did some preliminary check and said he needed to get authorization from warranty to do further diagnostics. After waiting 20 minutes he said that warranty would not authorize to do further diagnostics. We paid him out of pocket to do what he had to to find the issue. After less than 5 he came back and said he found the problem and said he needed to contact the electricity company to fix the problem. It only took 5 minutes to find the problem and YOU denied him to do that. I had to pay out of pocket for something that should have been covered.
On top of this, I was supposed to have an $85 credit from my last claim of the water heater that was never put in my account that I could use for a future claim. This was per the appeals representative. I have 2 denied claims since enrolling. I understand the water heater but the electrical issue should have been covered. Very disappointed and I am really debating if it is worth paying for your services when you will not provide basic services.

I have a water leak at the shut off for the hot water tank that was witnessed and confirmed by Insulation tech and maintenance from HOA. It took 4 days to get an appt. for someone to come out. Of course on the day the plumber came out the valve was no longer leaking but you can clearly see the recent water marks on the rafters. Plumbing tech said that they are not allowed to repair/replace if they don't see it. So I need to climb into the attic to check sure I don't have a major water leak instead of repairing a minor leak.

Claim denied without getting the facts. I was accused of not servicing my a/c system. I have a service contract and have regular maintenance. It seems that your MO is to deny then let the policyholder fight for their payment. Policy also has too many exclusions that other companies do not have.

Our garage door isn’t working and not linked to the remote control. Choice Las customer service is good and had someone to come out to fix it. However, the technician said that he can only do a patched up job each time. He could only fix 1 of the problems and we have to call him back again each time(?). The motor wasn’t working well but he said that with home warranty they can only fix minor problems. If we don’t want to waste time and be inconvenienced then just pay for the service ourselves to replace it. What is the point for home warranty if that’s the case? Sure enough, the garage doesn’t work the day after. Now, who do I call? Choice or the garage technician? Do I have to pay for another $60 fee for someone to come out again?

I was introduced to the idea of getting a home warranty from an acquaintance. Since my house is 90 years old, it felt smart. We got the policy in August, and we are work in the school district so that spending $420 was a lot during the summer months. The representative, Harry **, told me he would get $420 for 14 months and $65 for service fees. We put in a claim on September 19th, two days after our grace period ends, since we turned on our heat. They struggled to find someone to come out, but they did. They got a heating company to come from Philadelphia, and we live in northern New Jersey.
The company who came was professional and called the day before to ask what was wrong with the furnace and gave us a more specific time. The following day about 20 mins before the end of the window, they called and told us they were running late. They finally came, both the techs seemed not to be able to decide what the issue was. They told my husband that they would submit the claim and then come back in to putty around the valve to stop the dripping. They were in their truck for about 20 minutes. They came back to the house and said that the claim was denied.
They said that if we just waited for the system to 'blow out,' that would be the only way Choice would cover. I then immediately called customer service. I got Cynthia on the phone. She told me that the claim was denied because of section 4a of the policy since the circulation pump is a plumbing issue, and they do not cover plumbing issues. We had a local plumber come out and re-wrote a quote up to appeal the decision.
The case manager, Sylvanna **, called me to say that she could not help me overturn the claim since section 2a of the policy states: Choice does not cover known or unknow preexisting conditions. She said she did not know why I was told that it was not covered because of plumbing. It is a passing of the buck, and they know the policy inside and out. Sylvanna also questioned when the claim was placed. Although, in the same breath told me that there was one person who put in multiple claims a week after their policy was enacted and they didn't get denied. Like that was supposed to make everything better? Even when you look up their CEO on LinkedIn, he does not have a picture and is presently working at many companies. It is very shady. A home warranty, in general, is a scam, and now it is time to get my money back. *Follow up when you call to cancel, they hang up on you or tell you to call back in the morning.

Choice was very prompt in their response. Situation was handled very quickly. That was a few days ago. Something else has gone wrong with the ice maker and back panel on the refrigerator with the water lines. Water dispenser quit working. I hope this goes as smoothly. Stay tuned.

Just signed up today for this home warranty. I’m excited about all the good reviews I’ve read about you guys. I recently canceled my contract with American home shield due to cost kept going way up too much. Started at 51.99 & went up to 71.99. Without any acknowledgment of the increases. Was not very happy about that. Also read that there is a lot of complaints with BBB. So glad I never had a claim from what I’ve been reading. OMG! As soon as I entered my phone number on the web site, I was getting a call from the company. My salesman was a little pushy—took my credit card number, and then started telling me about other plans (3- and 5-year) after he’d taken my number and agreed-upon plan. Fast talking, pushy, made me think I was getting scammed. Hopefully this will turn out ok.

I was told by CHW, that I would have to pay for a full year and that my warranty starts 30 days after initial sign-up. Also, once I report an issue, I would get a call back from Choice within 24 hours or I can cancel and get a full refund. After 33 days, I reported an issue which I didn't hear back for a few days and after several calls and email I was told that it would normally take 24 hours but we are in COVID times and realistically, it will take weeks. When I asked to cancel the policy, she wasn't happy and provided another number. It took me many calls & disconnects to finally get someone which after a few minutes hung up on me...
I kept sending emails & called and finally got another person and asked to cancel my policy. She told me that she would have to deduct $83 from my full amount. The agent didn't find it amusing when I said that these are Covid times and I need my full amount back as promised by original agent who signed me up. It took them less than a min to get my full money and two weeks to get a reduced refund. Afterwards, I paid Frigidaire less for their extended warranty on all items (Professional Series Fridge, Dishwasher, Gas Range, Wall oven, Microwave). Supposedly Choice would cover more items, but they also charge a $65 fee each time and there is no fee with Frigidaire.
We regret losing you as a customer.

I have been comparing policies to cover the home I just purchased on 9/11/2020. Bill ** was my salesperson. He was helpful and followed up on all components to assist me in getting the needed coverage at a competitive price. I rate him 5 stars! However, immediately after the purchase I was sent to customer service as I need a copy of my policy sent via hard copy mail due to no printing capability at my new home. I spoke to Joseph (he refused to give me his last name!). He said no one could help but I had him log a request for a supervisor to call me back. I hope I get a call.

The service to repair our AC was quick. The worker was able to diagnose and fix our AC unit correctly and the team was friendly. Action taken: Replaced Fan Motor. BTW I called in the morning to file a claim with Choice and the repairmen were there before noon.

The plumbing technician came on time. They were very courteous and comply with the safe distance rule of covid19. After explaining my problem and showing them the leak, they started working and didn't stop until the job was completed. They even clean up after they were finished. Updated on 10/06/2020: Choice Home Warranty continues to dodge my claim. They are falsely advertising their product and ratings. I am trying to get them to reimburse me for minimal repairs of a Goodman A/C compressor, R-22 Freon, and the labor to accomplish the repairs.
Original Review: My air conditioner failed with ambient temperatures exceeding 110 degrees. Choice Home Warranty was unable to provide a tech within 5 days. I hired my own A/C company and had the entire unit replaced. I am asking Choice Home Warrant to reimburse me for the minimum repairs only. The minimum repairs would be to replace the compressor, capture and replace the R22 freon, and the labor charge needed to make the repairs.

My experience with Choice Warranty was very easy, from submitting the request to Choice to scheduling the service call. Unfortunately, the replacement part was decommissioned and my professional range could not be repaired. The Choice Warranty Case Manager assigned provided the best customer service, understood my concern with having to replace my range and she was able to secure an amount to replace my range, by more than I expected. I appreciate Choice Warranty employees from initiating the claim to securing an amount to replace my range, without any hassle or negotiating. This process was very customer focused and hassle free.

The dryer stopped working, first tech came out and said that the dryer died and was not serviceable, need new dryer. Second tech said the dryer was fine. As it turns out, it was the 220 outlet and after that was replaced, the dryer worked perfectly.

This is the 3rd or 4th time I have called Choice Warranty with an issue with a system in my house. Again, they do not cover the problem that I have. Definitely questioning why I pay monthly for a service that I can’t even use? I don’t have any peace of mind that if something happens, rest assured my warranty will cover it. I will be shopping around for a different home warranty.

I’ve never been so impressed with a HVAC technician before! His knowledge seemed endless! He was able to diagnose the issue with our a/c and answer questions we had about possibly converting our heating unit. The designated date for looking at the problem was much longer than I expected, so I decided to ask a professional to fix the problem. If I have to wait a long time to get my problem to be fixed I prefer to fix it earlier even if I have to pay more.

Updated on 09/30/2020: After almost a month still no answer from this company regarding my claim. Have tried by phone call, emails voicemails and nobody calls back. My ac claim denied. Don't know what I could of done to prevent a leak but it not considered wear and tear. Just can’t understand why not.
Original review: Had claim denied cause of leak in coils. How is that not something of daily use? How are we supposed to know system developed leak so my AC went out? It’s hot in Texas but they claim some fins were bent. Well how can one know if this happens? Nobody gets close to outside unit but yes claim is being denied. Just find it crazy what are we supposed to do or know then you try to get ahold of customer specialist. Left countless messages and no callbacks. Just upsetting cause techs that came and saw AC said it was normal wear and tear but I guess they don’t know their job. Just upset.

Hot Water Heater had to be replaced. It was at least eighteen years old. It was replaced one day after receiving a call from the plumber. He was extremely efficient and replaced the unit very quickly. He then cleaned everything up, e-mailed me a receipt and left.

Vidal Electric provides great service. The technician educated me which allowed me to make an informed choice. Submitting the claim was simple as well. The time from when I submitted the claim until the service was completed was 3 day including the weekend days. I am very pleased.

As a new customer using my CHW for the first time was very simple. I had heard of several warranty programs and I wasn't sure if that was something that I wanted to risk doing however a friend recommended Choice Home Warranty to me several months ago, she only had great things to say about CHW. I love the fact that all of my major household equipment to include ceiling fans, garage door openers, washer and dryer are included in this plan, and the technician visit is only $65. I called at 1.30am when I saw the leak and Choice Warranty responded immediately and had JMG Mechanical out to my house by 1pm in the afternoon. Very professional and responsive every time I needed to call back. They provided me with a great company to do the work JMG mechanical and I am very pleased with Choice and them.

I checked Consumer Reports and saw that Choice Home Warranty was rated the best, but I wanted to call and see if there was an option for quarterly payments. I'm glad I did because I ended up saving over $100 on the plan, with complete coverage and a lower service charge. I know every company does an upsell, but I felt confident knowing what great ratings and endorsements this company has. Always do your research, mine led me here and I feel better knowing I'm covered for anything in the future.

Neil represented Choice quite well. He was not pushy, but helpful and he learned that he found someone who needs this service at the right time. My husband passed away about a year ago. He took care of so many things around the house all the years (47) we were together. Now that he is gone, I am concerned about all the things in our home. Choice offers me peace of mind. For what I would pay for an umbrella policy with an insurance company, I have real help available when I need it and the costs will not be out of the wall when a tech comes to fix what needs to be fixed. I truly appreciate the service and look forward to never having to use it, but if I do....I know someone is available. Thank you.

This was my first claim. Service was good---the contracted company and technician were very accommodating--although I had to wait a few more days (without hot water) to get the necessary part. I understand because it was the weekend and the service was completed on Monday.

The plumber came out and said it was a leak from the roof. The roofer came out and replaced the roof. Now it's been two weeks and I still have a leak. The roofer came back out and it's a plumbing problem. I had to submit a new claim for the plumbing again and have to pay another $85 for them to come for a problem they didn't find or fix the first time. The roofer was great and did a tremendous job.

The request for refrigerator repair ended up needing to replace. At first we were not satisfied since we were being awarded +/- $500 to replace a $1400.00 refrigerator. We discussed this with the representative and ended up with a $700.00 rebate. The capacitor had failed on my outside AC unit, so the fan was no longer spinning up. After submitting my claim, I was contacted immediately to set up an appointment. The tech was very accommodating on schedule. He was prompt, courteous and educated me on how to better take care of my AC. 19 days to get a technician to accept the job.. Never got a real answer when called to check the status of the claim. All I got was apologies.. This service is unacceptable. When contacting local technicians, they advised they refused to take work from this company due to their past record on not paying them on time for services.

My water heater started pouring water out. I made a claim and then scheduled it myself. It was fixed the next morning (only a valve) and then they submitted to Choice Home Warranty reimbursement, and I received an email the same evening, stating my check was on its way. You won't cover the board that went out on the AC..Since it's electrical..So if the cord would go out on a refrigerator you won't cover the refrigerator? We won't renew our warranty again. So when we have to replace the AC we will have to cover the wiring and the copper?

The first technician did not show, I called twice, did not respond. Email on next day to office, saying I needed another technician to repair pool pump. Well, did the Choice start to work!, I was assigned a technician on the next day, Blue Flamingo. Technician came out the Saturday and made his diagnosis. His original date was Monday. 13th Sept. Pump was installed on next day 14th Sep '20. Choice Home Warranty really worked.

I got the warranty, however I am not 100% happy. The Salesperson was to pushy. I had to get angry to get him to listen to me. He interrupted me a lot. I feel they could do better on the price if they really want to. I will see how quickly they come to my aid when I have a problem. The cost to lock in the price is way too expensive. Call me when you lower it. I have a feeling that after the first year you lose a lot of people when they see their price increase. If it goes up too much they will lose me. We will see.

The technician verified that my microwave was not working, CHW decided to send me a check for $169 towards a replacement since my microwave could not be repaired. Take into account the following: I pay $40 per month for membership. I paid $75 for the claim. I actually received Appr. $54 towards a new microwave. I don’t want to seem ungrateful but that’s not what I expected. A new over the stove microwave is around $300 so, I am out-of-pocket around $250 to get my microwave replaced.

I’ve been a customer previously at another address and never had a problem. I purchased another home and decided to purchase a home warranty from your company as I had no problems previously and was a happy customer. Now I had an issue with the ac at my new home and claim was denied. The ac unit at this home has obviously been working for 17 years. It stopped working and my claim was denied. Who know what other future claims will also not be covered and I’m choosing to terminate my policy.

Adam, the service contractor arrived as scheduled. He was polite and courteous. After exchanging pleasantries and showing him the intake he went to explain what he'll do to diagnose what's causing the strong vibrations and loud noise the rooftop AC unit is causing. We had our smaller upstairs AC stop operating. Technician diagnosed the problem with the unit and discovered the part was under warranty. Under CHW guidelines the repair would not be covered, but after much discussion with the case manager we were able to establish a small cost share. The cost share ensured that the repair company cost would be set to warranty company rates. Even though the cost share was only 10% of the repair the overall original quote to final cost was a 50% savings of nearly $1000. Rated 4 stars due to the effort required on my part for CHW to offer any assistance.

CHW service call was excellent when responding to my AC claim on my Myrtle Beach Condo. I am awaiting parts to come in for the replacement of my unit. I submitted my claim on Thursday and a technician came the next day. They were able diagnose the problem within 30 minutes and I was given approval to my claim within 2 hours.

WaterTex Pools (Jason) came to the home to repair the Spa Heater that was not igniting. We had tried to start the heater on 3 separate occasions over the preceding 5 days. The last attempt was 2 days previously immediately prior to contacting CHW for a claim. He was professional and was able to ignite the heater without issue. He checked gas pressure and ensured no foreign debris was causing failure.

Your company is not helpful. You sent a tech out. Nothing could be fixed. The only thing that needed to be replaced was a valve to turn hot water on but your company did not want to cover it. Also the tech could have fixed it. He had the part. The technician was very nice and professional. I would recommend him to others but not through your company. Nothing got fixed. You rejected my claim for refrigerator repair. Because the odor coming from the refrigerator was so bad, I had to move it out of the house into my garage. (Sour food - or leaking Freon - or a combination of both). I have since moved it back into the kitchen, and they still rejected my claim and refuse to repair the appliance. Jeffery ** from TJ Electric came out, to check over my General whole house generator. It is an older model but really was only used once 2 years ago for a hurricane. When it is opened it looks brand new. He tried to get it turned over, but it would not. He was going to do some homework to find out more info on the generator. Wasn’t sure claims experience would be good based on the fact that I could not reach anyone and there was no follow up to voicemails etc. However, despite recorded phone warnings on the mainline about inordinate delays etc, was able to reach a claims specialist and schedule service. Got confirmation from service company promptly the next day and technician Mickey (Top Notch Plumbing) called and showed up promptly. He was dressed for COVID conditions, was professional, knowledgeable and very friendly/accommodating. Work was done efficiently and charges were very reasonable. Would recommend Mickey and Top Notch based on my experience.

Choice Warranty set up a date for the plumber, Clear Flow, to come to our house on Wed, Sept 16 between the hours of 3:00-8:00 pm. On that day in late afternoon we called Clear Flow To ensure someone was still coming and their response was that we were not on their schedule and that Choice Warranty never contacted them for our appointment. After already having to wait a week to have our problem remedied We then had to wait until Sat, Sept 19. On that date a very nice young man came to repair our problem and told us upon leaving that if the problem reoccurred within 60 days he would come back to remediate the problem. On Sunday, Sept 20, the problem occurred again. We will be calling Clear Flow again on Monday, the 21st.

I was very disappointed to learn during a recent dishwasher claim that "replace" does NOT mean being allocated enough funds to replace the unit with a similar unit. "Replace" to CHW means that an arbitrary dollar amount is offered to apply towards the purchase of a new unit. In my opinion, this is very misleading and I WILL NOT renew my policy nor would I ever recommend CHW to anyone. Case Manager Cheryl **, however, was very professional even though it took several voice messages and emails during a 2 weeks time span to her to get a response. I had a prior claim for my furnace that was denied due to it being rusty. I had lived at this address for 3 years at the time and never had a moments problem with it running properly or heating my home. Obviously, this doesn't matter. It has not been a good experience with CHW.

When one of my air conditioning units stopped working I email Choice Warranty on a Saturday. By the next day, Choice had assigned my problem to a local company and the company contacted me with an appointment. The technician was dispatched and within an hour of his arrival, my air conditioner had been repaired.

This was my first service covered by Choice Warranty and I am very disappointed. There is literally a saying, you get what you pay for. I called for service on the above mentioned oven which was purchased 4/6/16 at a total cost of $1,647.52. I have the receipt to prove this. Early July 2020 the oven would not heat. I called Choice Warranty for service. Sears Home Service was assigned.
Per Sears estimate dated 7/8/20, tech came out and installed an Ignitor and Range Bake Burner. The oven still did not heat. Another part, Faceplate, was ordered and installed per Sears Service Estimate dated 7/23/20 order #**. Tech tested oven. Heated to normal baking heat of 350. Tried baking a banana bread after ignitor and range bake burner were installed. Oven heated to required 350 degrees. Checked 20 minutes later bread was flat as a pancake and was not baking. Checked temperature. It dropped to 266.
Called Choice Warranty a second time. This is when the faceplate was ordered and installed. Tech checked oven to normal baking temperature of 350 and said it was ok. Following day tried baking a cake. Same scenario. This time the temperature dropped to 277 degrees. Called choice warranty again for service. Assigned Kendrick's Electrical. Tech tested oven. Said nothing wrong. Did not charge a fee.
When I called Choice Warranty after Kendricks Electrical left I emphasized I wanted Sears to come back and fix what they started. This time Sears sent their head honcho tech. Also when I turned the oven on, I could smell gas. The tech checked the oven said another part needed to be replaced and the cost of the part with what was already spent would not be practical. He did not charge me a fee. Sears tech said, "I will go to my vehicle and make a call to Choice Warranty and will return and tell you what their decision is as regards ordering the new part." He came back and said they would replace the oven.
I got out the receipt for the oven, called Choice Warranty and was appalled to see that all you offered for replacement is $500. I rejected the offer. Lori **, Case Manger was assigned to my claim. I told her what I wrote above. She said to hold and she will see what can be done. She came back on the phone a few minutes later and said the best she could do is offer me $600 which should be received within t 2 to 3 weeks.
I said, "So if I do not have the funds to replace my oven, I must wait 2 to 3 weeks to get a check and then see how I can replace my oven." I asked her for your number to cancel my policy. I have been dealing with another home warranty company for the past 34 years and never had a problem with them. Had an outlet burning smell, and came in and replaced the burnt-out outlet and replaced the burned gfi. Discovered it was wired incorrectly and we just moved in earlier this year. He put everything back together and tested each section plus the breaker box. They did a Great job! Highly recommend!

My rooftop a/c-heating unit was blowing only hot air on a one hundred degree day. The technicians showed up as scheduled with all the tools, equipment and parts needed to complete the repair. A capacitor replacement was needed to enable the compressor to start and run. The technicians did a fine job removing rodent nesting materials and droppings from the unit. I was extremely pleased with their performance!

I purchased, in advance, long term contracts on seven houses with Choice and my overall experience thus far has not been what I expected. They have done a pretty good job of taking care of my minor claims with costs between $100-$200 but have left me high and dry on my major claims like three HVAC unit failures that required replacements.

The appointment for the technician was scheduled immediately. Technician cane out, did his job very professionally. Explained the problem. Cleaned the drain and made sure the dishwasher was running before he left. Very happy with his work. I think the technician did a great job considering what he was working with. We had three service calls for a total of $180.00 and our dishwasher is still not functioning. Your company agrees to replace the dishwasher yet gives me only half of what it cost to replace the dishwasher. Are you following our contract? I would say no you are not. We have not had a good experience with Choice over the past year and a half and will not not continue our service with you. However, I would like to highly recommend Keon from Appliance Repair Wizard. He is kind, patient and does his best to repair the appliances. They come quickly not like it was back when we first joined your service. That part has improved greatly, it used to be three days waiting. Thank you for listening but Google any dishwasher with the controls inside as mine is and you will see it’s 800.00 to replace not $399.00.

Pump stalled. Claim denied and I will be canceling my contract with your claims that you cover the home area. It took a week for them to tell me after I found my own tech to submit a claim only to be denied. I am a retired military and on limited income and to pay the full price to repair our pump hurts us financially.

I have called three different occasions. The first time was plumbing and I ended up getting my son to fix it because you could not find anybody that weekend. The second time was 3 months ago when my refrigerator had trouble and finally after the third technician it was repaired yesterday I hope. A case manager was assigned to my claim Nicole ** and I replied to her email and left 5 voice messages in 1 week. No returns calls nor emails. Washer machine it cost over $800 dollars and the offer was only $349! I can’t buy another washer machine with this offer and is taking too long to get this claim done.

Whatever you do, do not sign up for Choice Home Warranty. I went in eyes wide open that home warranties are often a scam. I was very clear with Choice that I was skeptical. They sold me on a home warranty and I signed on for a year in July 2020. In August, as luck would have it, my AC unit broke. We have 13-year-old AC unit, which I made very clear to Choice when I signed up for this warranty. We had gotten the unit serviced bi-annually by the preeminent heating and air conditioning company in our market. The unit was last serviced in April (new filters, minor fixes, etc.), which eliminates any argument that this issue might have been caused by not having routine maintenance. When the Choice-hired contractor came out to fix the unit, he explained that our compressor had failed. His assessment was that there is NO WAY TO KNOW WHETHER THIS IS GENERAL WEAR AND TEAR OR A CATASTROPHIC EVENT.
Choice then denied my claim stating that “[my] policy provides coverage for failures that are the result of normal wear and tear. Failures that occur due to abnormal operating conditions or catastrophic events are excluded from coverage.” The Choice hired expert said there’s no evidence that this was NOT general wear and tear driven. Therefore, I expected full coverage of repair or complete replacement of this unit. All I got was a denial.
Upon appeal, it took Choice 4 weeks to respond to me on the appeal, again denying it. I called and left 14 messages during that month and got exactly 2 calls back from my "appeals agent." When they refused to cover repairs and I asked for a refund of my policy, he didn't fight it. Seemed very normal course for him. However, instead of a full reimbursement of the $450 I paid for my policy, they charged me a $50 cancellation fee, $20 for the tech that came out, AND 2 months of service (in spite of the fact that I would've cancelled in August had he actually called me back in a timely manner to discuss my claim). I made very strong cases for repair, then reimbursement, and then waiving of various fees and especially the extra month of service caused by Choice's neglect. I asked to speak to supervisors, but was just told, "This is the best I can do for you." Choice is a fraud. Do not use it.

I've asked multiple times for them to STOP calling me. The person is then rude and arrogant. They've also sent me email, to which I've unsubscribed, but it still doesn't stop.

Tech advise the trouble w/ dishwasher; what needed to be ordered, when to expect his return with the parts, when project would be completed. Advise that I would receive email when to expect his return. Also an email when part was sent and received. There is a leak in the system. Can run dishwasher for now and will know when the leak is severe when there is water on the floor of the kitchen around the dishwasher.

Toilet was leaking through the ceiling from upstairs master bath. The technician was very polite and efficient and replaced inside parts and the seal. They put me on different claims that was what my separan explained to me, plumber Came and the company not authorize fix my problem inside my House main water lines, A/C company the technician just try to sell a new A/C unit. This warranty came with the house that I bought. The communication is okay at best. They call you as soon as you open a claim, however, you have to follow up with them each day at every step or the ball does not get moving. My AC went out in April and it took 4 weeks before the problem went from opening the claim to having running AC again. Now, my AC has gone out again and it's been another 3 weeks and it's not looking like a solution will come soon. On the current claim, a repairman came out and submitted in his report that it needed to be replaced. 2 days later I got an email from Home Choice about starting the replacement process. But then when I called them to get the ball rolling they said they needed to get another repairman out because they couldn't get a hold of the last guy (not true, but we'll get there).
The next guy filled a report that prompted them to say that a replacement is not covered. I filled a grievance with them and had a case manager assigned to me. I missed their first call, but called them back and have emailed twice now. So, I called the first repairman they sent and he said he sent a detailed report with pictures. Now I've been asking for a report from them for 2 days and they are giving me the runaround. Their business model seems to be to try and frustrate the customer long enough for them to give up. Another example of this is my fridge. They sent 4 different repairmen to my house, 9 different times before they finally said they would replace the fridge. I took their cash offer of $600 because I do not trust them or their process to buy a fridge that is comparable to the one I have. Not a good company and I will never have a home warranty company again because of this experience.

After taking cold showers for 3 weeks, you finally sent a plumber to fix our problem. But then you cancelled his services. So it's back to cold showers for now. Your, 'find your own" technician option is unworkable for average homeowner as it is hard to find someone who is willing to put up with the hassle of jumping thru all your required hoops, or you decide to cancel their services. I would like to have my contract money refunded. I have had no luck getting reimbursed for claims that I end up up paying for anyways. So see no need for your services.

Then the company they send out literally does nothing but looks at it and says “yea that’s what the issue is,” collects the $75 and never returns calls or gives us an update. 5 days later and I still haven’t heard from them. Now the piece that’s broken is part of the million things that aren’t covered by the company. And now I’m stuck with no repair company and an issue still not fixed...

I am satisfied with the tech that came out here. But I am very disappointed with Choice Warranty. You advertise that if you can’t fix it you will replace it. But when I call you the guy I talk to said not all thing do you replace. That is false advertisement. The last time I called my air conditioner was out. The next day I waited and no one texted me or called me that you would not come until Monday. I called on a Friday. So had to pay for a motel for two nights at 120.00 a night. So Sunday I called someone myself and had to pay 156.00 to get it fixed. At that time it was 105 degree outside. This is Texas. So I am very very disappointed in this company!!!

40 days ago my broken flapper was replaced by Mister Plumber whom I gave a 5-star rating which I would now like to rescind. An inferior flapper was used and 2 weeks later the toilet started running constantly for 4 days. I reopened my claim and Mister Plumber was scheduled to come back out. When toilet stopped running, I canceled the call. 3 weeks later the running toilet began again and I filed a claim. One Good Plumber of Gretna, LA came to repair the toilet ahead of schedule. He replaced the inferior flapper with a high grade flapper guaranteed for 5 years. I was very impressed with Conrad and his honesty. He remained a while to make sure the toilet didn’t start running again. I give him my highest rating and will call him for non-warranty projects in the future. I highly recommend him.
I petitioned CHW for a waiver of my second service charge of $65 but was denied because more than 30 days had passed since the original work. If something like this happens again, I will cancel my contract with CHW and go with another warranty company who charges a much lower Ceros ice charge. I will also move my security alarm monitoring to another company. FrontPoint Security, my company, is affiliated with CHW.

I called Choice on Friday to report my problem with my air conditioning unit. Before Friday was over, I had an appointment with Jackson Unlimited to come out on Monday, Sept. 14th. The technician called when he was in route to my house. He accessed the problem and it took him about 30 minutes, or less, to fix my air conditioning unit.

We have lived in our home going on 17 years and have always used the same company for our heat and AC. Knowing that all of the appliances in our home are getting old we decided to try the homeowner's insurance with Choice Home Warranty. Last month we had a problem with our AC and called CHW and the company that picked up the warranty said they could not make it out for 5 days! We live in FL, with hot and humid temps and no way we could go for 5 days with out AC! We called our old reliable company and they were out within an hour!
When the repairman was here he told us that our unit was 24 years old and that it really needed replacing, or just keep putting band-aids on it. Earlier this week we ended up having AC problems again. Called CHW and was called back by a heating and AC company and they were able to come the next day. We were OK with that. When they came out the next day the guy looked at the unit and found what was wrong and they could fix it. We asked about the unit overall and he said that it was a very old unit and would continue to need repairs.
We asked how it would work if we would just buy a new unit? He said that CHW would take the price of the repair off the price of a new unit and we would be liable for the rest of the costs out of pocket. Don't get me wrong, the company that came to do the work was great! But why are we paying for insurance if all the insurance company wants to do is keep putting band-aids on something that needs to be replaced? We won't be renewing with CHW next year!

The fact that you would not cover the extra extension to complete the faucet which was about $5 and I paid for a new Faucet that would have cost you $150-$200+ is beside me? This is part of a faucet repair or install. I went and bought the extension and installed it myself. I hope that someone that understands what is involved in these type of repairs knows better next time. I value your service and have had a great experience so far and have referred multiple people just in the past few months. Was disappointed in the response the technician received yesterday. I'm a new policyholder so can't really say if I'm satisfied yet. The sales rep was a little too pushy for my liking. I'm sure it's not him but the environment of his workplace. Check back with me at a later date for better appraisal.

Garage door not working. Light came on, and motor made noise, but did not work. Checked fuses, also checked the remotes to see if they would work. They did not. Contacted Choice Warranty, they said it was covered and a claim was opened.

We had a Whirlpool Cabrio washer Spin cycle started pause and won’t spin the clothes dry completely. Called the Choice warranty for repair. We had to wait for the assigned appliance repair for a week of time, choice warranty told us that we can hire our own repair guy to get reimbursed. In the end the cost of repair were high, choice warranty decided to reimburse us half of the cost for us to get a new washer. I am satisfied with the result of paying few hundred dollars for a brand new wash machine.

I submitted a request for multiple items. only the master shower was fixed. I received a decline for the popup assemblies for both bathrooms which is fine but I didn't receive anything about the leak in the shower or the faucet in the master bathtub. I do not understand why they were not addressed.
In a recent review of your claim, our records show that we addressed everything that was on the original work order.

We have had recent significant issues with two of our sinks not draining. Dalton, the technician from Matthew’s Plumbing, was very good. He fixed our issue quickly, was very informative, and offered a few sound recommendations for other plumbing considerations.

The air conditioner fan was not spinning and the thermostat times would not engage the unit. When we could get system working via the thermostat, the "motor" would engage but the fan would not spin. When the service-man arrived (Doing Service, LLC) I explained the situation. He worked thoroughly and diligently to resolve the problem. If I remember correctly, I believe he said the issue was the "conductor." He did a great job!!! Thanks!

The service was done fast, very knowledgable but appointment time was not manage well. Had to reschedule cuz of problems but did not notify me until I check with him why he was not there after an hour and a half missing deadline, wasted my whole day.

I received an email from you yesterday morning saying my appt was for yesterday between 3-8. No one showed up or called. I stayed home waiting. This morning I called IntelTech to see why, and they said I should not have received the email because the part had not come in yet. Needles to say, I missed an appointment because of it.

The process was easy and seamless. Handled very professionally, technician arrived as scheduled, isolated the issue, repaired and went above and beyond to ensure system was running properly. I like the company, it’s just the timing of them trying to find someone to come out to my house to fix a appliance is a little slow. It does take them a while to find someone to actually come out and fix the problem on a timeline.

Rob from Affordable Appliance Repair responded quickly to the call and handled things promptly. He was very nice and explained things well. Would definitely recommend his company and if I have any more issues I would request that he be the one to handle any repairs I have.

While the AC guy who showed up was very informative, did a visual survey of the unit and added some puron coolant. I was then informed if I wanted a pressure check it would cost more to determine if there was a leak. No check was done on air flow into the house via the vents/ducts. I feel that Choice does not include the compression check to save money and not determine the true extent of a mechanical problem.

I notified Choice that I had a leak under my kitchen sink (from the garbage disposer) on Friday (9/11/20) at approximately 6:30 p.m. I was promptly referred to a contractor the same evening; however, the earliest appointment that I was given was Tuesday, 9/15/20 between 3-8 p.m. I contacted Choice to request an earlier appointment due to the fact that I was unable to run any water in my sink. Prior to contacting Choice I contacted the contractor 9/12/20; but my call was never returned. The contractor came around 6 p.m. and replaced the garbage disposal system. Having to wait over 84 hours for this type of a repair seems excessive to me. I am satisfied with the repair.
