This was my first claim experience. I thought it would be a very simple thing. The switch for the lights on my stovetop range hood do not work. The service tech came out quickly as promised and said it was the simple electronic board on the range hood. I was then contacted quickly by Choice Home Warranty that it was too expensive to replace the board and that my only option was to accept a cash payment for the range hood. The cash payment is only a small fraction (about 20%) of what the range hood would cost to replace. This does not seem fair. The range hood is a Thermador PH36ZS and the exact replacement is a Thermador PH36GS. But I am told, that I have no real options other than to accept the payment offered. You could use the existing blower motor and save a good amount and just put in the PH36GS with my blower motor. The two hoods are the exact same size. Then I would be most grateful and happy with the total experience.

The Senior discount is great! Only to those who can afford to pay 3 years in advance, otherwise, you can't have the Senior incentive. Too bad we are all not that fortunate. Otherwise, this would be a fantastic offer. This is the extent about what can be said at this time.

In the past we have called in items for repair under the warranty coverage and the technicians failed to come and we would have to call again. The call this time was completed in a timely manner. The technician was timely and very professional.

Ceiling leak and wall leak occasionally. Because the plumber could not see the leak happening, only the damage, he was unable to do anything. We are removing sheetrock to pinpoint the place of leaking and will call back the plumber.

He provided both professional expertise and excellent technical attention to my dilemma with swift intervention and replacement of the nonfunctioning disposal. I was without heat for two weeks while, it appears, your company and Medcalf mechanical could not agree on the service I needed. I never talked to the same person twice and was told due to working from home there was no way to contact one. There is too much to say to try to write it here. I felt that none of the people I talked to were concerned with my situation.

New Technology Solutions, LLC came out and fixed my microwave in less than 20 minutes. Jerry, my technician was very knowledgeable about what needed to be done. He had this working in no time. He was very professional and I would highly recommend him and New Technology Solutions, LLC.

Burt of Sears Home Service was dispatched and arrived within the allotted window. He was polite and respected our home and us, Unfortunately, he only had one coupler to splice the damaged water line and had to run out to the store to purchase one. When he returned the repairs were completed and our problem was solved. We are satisfied customers, though with a water leak, no matter how small I wish the repair could have been prompt than a 5 day wait.

I sleep better at night knowing the coverage I receive is superb. Each situation is handled professionally and the service needed is rendered. The response time for a claim is very quick and efficient. It is easy to place a claim, either online or a phone call away. My refrigerator ice maker was initially repaired on 5 Oct 2020 by a Sears Repair Technician. The ice maker worked for 4 days and then stopped making ice again. Earlier today I contacted Choice Warranty to start another Work Order.

Plumbing issues were not covered. Now my claim has been denied for the refrigerator. In order have full use of my refrigerator, I must replace the crisper top and one of my crisper baskets. I am wondering if the warranty is worth the cost.

Tech efficiency diagnosed problem and checked the entire unit for any additional problems then inspected outside unit for problems. When inspection completed he showed me photos of problems and explained options. Very polite and efficient.

After over three months not getting fixed Choice has decided to send check directly to us to take care of the problem ourselves. Multi calls to Sears. Would not recommend them. Unreliable! Hard to rate the following service, value, coverage at this time.

Not cooling. Unit frozen. Tech turned it off to defrost. Returned to days later. Checked all pressures. Everything checked out OK. Turned on unit and checked all inflows and outflows. Everything was OK. Unit began cooling off the house. As of today, everything is working fine and it is a pleasure to be cool again.

I wish to cancel my warranty. Very unsatisfied. You claim you cover something then you don't. This is the second time I have used my policy and both times gave the person 60 only to find out you don't cover it so I will find somebody else. Now I have problems that you not going to cover. I am an independent contractor. I have the qualifications to be one of your service technicians. I purchased my policy in good faith. But when I was emailed the contract, I read it. 90 percent of what could possibly go wrong almost all of the time in every facet of every category of coverage is excluded. Lol. I asked the sales associate to email me the literature. Now I understand why I only got a link to the advertisement. The next morning I called to cancel. Transferred me to another department where I was on hold for hours. HOURS!!!! I had to stop payment with my bank. I will be sure to fill out every single survey I can find further expressing my discontent. You should sell this as a maintenance policy. Not a warranty. Very unscrupulous. Should be ashamed. I might have been born in a barn. But it wasn't yesterday. Good day.

Carlos was a total professional- knowledgeable, communicative and prompt. He immediately knew the problem with our Air Conditioner and did a really good job of fixing it. The communication from Doing Service was very helpful and we appreciated their flexibility in changing the time of arrival. We are very impressed with Choice and will recommend it to our friends.

I got my garage door opener changed but the policy only provides chain driven garage door opener. Whereas I had belt driven opener. The company also doesn't cover key-pad, says it doesn't come with the chain drive and has to be brought separately. Seems like policy just provides minimum replacement and not exactly covers what is currently in my house.

Choice decided this was a modification even though the technician DID NOT. So CHOICE did not cover the labor. First claim with Choice. We are selling this house and will Not convey your service with the sale nor use you at our new home.

The wait for service is too long, and this is taking the pandemic into account. Then, the replacement money is too low, it's like a slap in the face. The only good thing was the case manager, Lori **, who demonstrated understanding and seem legitimate with the assistance.

Is was in another contract before switching to Choice. I changed because the other company took way too long for a tech to come in and the companies and techs they hired were horrible. Now, I am experiencing the same thing. They can't find tech that can come out in a decent amount of time which they promised. Not to mention almost all the companies they use my last company uses. I had a leak and it took a week almost for someone to come. Can't wait to see my water bill. It is frustrating when they make appointments for you, send an email, the company calls and says, "We never said we would be there tomorrow" and a week later they arrive. That has happened a few times as well. Not happy.

The warranty won't cover the main water leak issue...the shower leak and toilet flange repair. So now I will need to call another plumber out to fix the actual problem. At least I know what the problem is now. I would like more options for total repair.

I am very disappointed that my ac repair was not covered. The technician said it was low on refrigerant but you did not cover the cost because a leak test is required and is NOT covered under the policy. I will be canceling my policy.

Please please stay from this company. I started my Choice Home Warranty (Total coverage) on July of 2020. My water heater broke on 09/29/2020. I opened a claim with Choice Warranty. San Antonio Plumbing, service company of Choice Warranty came and got check for #75.00 from me as the service fee. They denied the claim first. After I called them, they assigned a Claim Manager to my case. Whenever I call this person she never pick up the call, nor respond your voice message. After so many attempts, she responded my call saying that she cannot make a decision of the approval, the upper management would call me. I am waiting for every day for the last 4 days; nobody called me. Then finally I got hold of cancelling department (10/9/2020) and was able to cancel their service.
A waste of money and time. They have no problem taking your money every month, but when it is time to cover an appliance, they look for excuses not to cover it. The customer service is poor. Managers behave irresponsibly. The company does not have any values. They broke the service agreement without paying for a covered service. The sales lady that spoke to me, when I started the contract in July, told me that the coverage start just now. I was fallen on her sweet words and paid my first premium immediately.

Do all of your research prior to contacting this company. I received no less than 10 follow up calls, texts or emails from these guys in 1 day. Brutal sales tactics. I sure hope these companies are as diligent if or when I need service.

Case manager who works at the department that person doesn't want to listen. Not providing solution at all to customer. Whoever is hiring case manager please look into this position and hire more professional so customer can be satisfied. Do not recommend this warranty at all when case manager Candy handles it. I would give rating zero to that person. Doesn't know how to talk to customers at all. Very disappointing. Can't recommend at all going forward.

The plan is great, but when it comes to an emergency they drop the ball. Sometimes you just can't wait 24hrs. Had to call plumber and pay for myself because I had a water leak in the basement and needed to avoid flooding. Too bad they don't have a contingency for emergencies.

This the second time within 6 months we have had to use Choice Home Warranty. So far our experience has been fair. Our first time our AC broke and needed a quick fix as it was too hot outside to wait a week for an appointment. We elected to close the claim and pay our neighbor who is an HVAC tech by trade on the side. Seems as though the pool of repairmen or companies Is very limited. Filed a leaking washer complaint on Thursday and can’t get a repair scheduled until the following Thursday. A whole week to wait just to just assess the problem, then another few days to order parts and reschedule to come back to do the repair. This is not good customer service and am very disappointed.

Dryer broke on 9/11/2020. Was almost 2 weeks before a repairman showed up. He needed to order a part to fix the dryer. Today is 10/9/2020 4 weeks from when I filed a claim. Still waiting for the dryer to be fixed and have heard nothing from either the repair service or Choice Home Warranty.

I requested to be removed from your phone list after I was working with one of your sales team. I received about 3 calls a day from your company even after I requested to be removed and even after I signed up for a policy. If I receive one more sales call next week I will cancel my policy.

Refrigerator was leaking. Technician knew exactly what to do after inspecting. Removed Freezer storage area & accumulated ice under storage trays & cleaned out accumulated ice. Told us this would probably happen again in 24 months & that it was common for this type of unit. Very professional & courteous.

Called for service, received contact for service provider within 5 minutes, contacted service provider for appointment date and time. Reasonable response time for this time of year, serviced HVAC by replacing defective exhaust fan motor. Technician checked all other systems for any related issues. HVAC works great. Thanks.

Finally, the claim was settled satisfactorily. I gave a 7 score because the assigned case manager was no longer employed by you and it took much too long to be discovered that she was still active in your system. I made numerous phone calls, left messages, and sent several emails to no avail. I made a final call on 10/8 and asked that my problem be escalated to management. The case was resolved the same day????

Fast door repair - was absolutely incredible at his job! I had an issue with motor and a remote, and my garage door was horribly loud! He found sources of problems right away. Pointed out what can be improved and got to work! He reset my sensors, did something to a door motor, changed both remotes! 100% recommend.

The tech was on time and figured out the problem ordered the part and will be back in a few days to install. I also have a work order out on my washing machine and dishwasher but have had no calls on that yet. I will be calling again today to find out what is going on. I made the original call several weeks ago. I had a work order on my oven and I found the technician not someone that I would want to deal with on a daily basis. I thought he was rude. I know my stove and I know that it’s not working right and he just said it’s fine and didn’t look into the problem with the burners. They are not burning clean. They are making the bottoms of my pans black. But he said that’s normal (NOT). I will be calling again to talk to Choice about this before they come out to fix the oven.

I have made two claims with this company. They always find a reason to deny your claim, my water heater stopped working, they claim they found a rust spot on it and the heater is now not covered. On my a/c unit I change the filter every month, it started to blow warm. Again, claim denied due to a dirty a/c filter which is not even possible. This company is a total scam, they take your money and never do any of the covered repairs. Avoid them at all costs.

I wouldn't recommend this company to no one! They lied and wasted my time and was just scrupulous! I moved to this company very skeptical because I have received such bad service from other warranty companies! The salesman of course was selling me water in the desert! Promising this and that and when I called to get my ac fixed, the claim was denied! Then when I said, "I'm not going to play these games anymore, just give me my money back!" They said, "Oh no let me escalate your claim, a specialist will help you!" Then this Specialist named Jaime is assigned, she doesn't respond to emails and never answers the phone! When I finally get a hold of her, she says, "Ok I can make an exception (Like they doing me a favor) and get your claim approved."
The claim was approved, then came the well in order to replace one part, you gotta change the other part! Ok, how much is that going to cost because of course, the other part is out of pocket expense? Here is Jaime, "Don't worry, we will search for the part, we are a big company and we will get it at a low cost!" Another two weeks past, I'm calling and asking for an update and finally I get a message that, "Ok, we found the part and it will cost you this much! Everything should be completed within the next two weeks!"
Now a week and a half later, Jaime is calling me back to give me an update, puts me on hold for almost 10 minutes! (Mind you she called me unprepared!) Only to tell me that now Choice can't find the part they supposedly found two weeks ago and the technician magically can find the part! The cost that went from $700 is now $3000! What Jaime doesn't know is I called the same technician they sent to review my ac and they gave me a quote for both parts for this same price! This is how I know Choice Home Warranty is a joke! Once again I will stick to my intuition, I will NEVER use a warranty company again! You can best believe I will tell everyone I know how disgusting Choice Home Warranty is and how they played games with my time, and my money!

Problem with heater not working properly. Basically, when you turn the thermostat from cool to hot, the fan would not blow the warm air. However, when you turn the thermostat on cool it blows the cool air with no issues. Technician identified the cause of the problem. Scheduled to fix on Oct 10, 2020.

My garbage disposal stopped working. I filled out a request online which was very simple. I was promptly contacted with a date/time for service. When the technician arrived, he was professional and polite. He told me I needed a new garbage disposal and put in the order. It was promptly approved and a return date and time was scheduled within a couple hours of the tech initially coming out.

Somewhat disappointed that CHW would only agree to a payout of $449.99 to replace irreparable 24” portable dishwasher. Best price I could find to purchase a new one was $683 and that was on sale. (Regular price $759.) I feel CHW should have taken capacity of dishwasher and current replacement costs more into consideration.

They don’t return phone calls. It took over 2 weeks to get through to my assigned claims associate for my hot water heater. It then takes an additional 30 days for payment. My washer broke. They approved the traits then said they would only cover half and did not owe me an explanation for why they wouldn’t pay. And would not allow me to speak to authorizations who made the decision. Absolutely the worst service you can imagine.

I put a claim in for a dishwasher repair. The first repair kept pushing the appointment back due to their sole technician being ill. I contacted CHW, to get a new repair company assigned. The new tech came right out and declared the dishwasher needed to be replaced. CHW then sent me a replacement offer of $175, which was ridiculously low and I declined. The case was then assigned to a case manager (Cheryl **) on 9/10/20. I emailed and called leaving multiple voicemail messages with no response. I contacted CHW and asked the case to be escalated to a supervisor. Again, no response. On 10/7/20, I called Cheryl directly again and got a response finally. She increased the replacement offer of the dishwasher I had already purchased due to the extensive delay from CHW in handling the claim. The increase was moderate, and no reimbursement was given for the installation and haul away, so I still bore the majority of the repair out of pocket.

The tech was great, but Choice Warranty apparently didn't take his findings. He plainly said it wasn't a power surge but you said it was. If you are not going to take the tech's findings why bother sending one. Not good customer service.

Total Appliance Solutions was sent to repair my refrigerator. Total repair bill was going to be over $600. This is such a ripoff that CHW wasn't going to pay and offered me $600. Case worker Cheryl ** was assigned to my case. I left her 4 phone messages and emails. Never returned my call. This is not a way to deal with people. Do not use Total Appliance since there was nothing wrong with the fridge. Getting Cheryl ** to return my calls is impossible. I need a manager to call me to fix this problem.

On October 1 the emergency cutoff valve broke under my kitchen sink and water was coming out onto my kitchen floor at a tremendous rate. I turned off what I thought was the whole house turn off valve in my garage, it turned the water off from the faucets but only slowed down the water that was leaking from under the sink. I called Choice and told them that this was an emergency but they said that they couldn't get a plumber out until the 5th, I explained to them that water was leaking at a fast rate and I needed a plumber now, not 5 days later. They didn't help me so I had to call a plumber myself that came out in 30 minutes and turned off the water and repaired the valve. When I attempted to submitted a claim for that repair tonight, Choice thought I was placing a new claim and a plumber called me within minutes, why couldn't they do that on the 1st when I needed it?

Brian came. Told us the reason there’s no water. The filter was defective, only used 2 months, replaced filter, water came out 4 days, then stopped, spoke with Brian, told us water line frozen, to disconnect fridge, leave open doors for 24 hours, freezer & fridge. GoogleD frozen water line, found out what to do, did it and we got water!, paid $75.00 for him to tell me to change the filter! We know what to do now.

I was not pleased with the handling of this matter. I called this issue in on the 4th of Oct and received no response of satisfaction. I called in a was put on hold and never got picked up on numerous occasions. I was told I would receive a call from a supervisor within 24 hours and that was on Tuesday morning. I had to have the furnace fixed. Nothing personal your service did not meet my needs and I decided to cancel. The gentleman I spoke with was rude a very argumentative in your customer service dept. I ask for a refund and he stated, "You will not get a refund," and said goodbye very unprofessional. Please review this matter. Your services may be good for someone but they weren't very good for me. When I had to man check the furnace he said it had not been serviced in quite some time so I knew your services would not covered.

Updated on 01/03/2021: Everything happened in a speedy manner. I submitted my claim at about 8am and the plumber was here at 11:15 and had the repair complete by 12pm. And this was on New Year's Eve. I thought I would have to wait at least until after the holiday. I like to cook so this quick response and action was highly appreciated. I am so glad that I have the Choice HW.

Installation of the replacement water heater was accomplished in two days after the initial check. No charge for the water heater but there was a significant charge for the installation and disposal.

Don't waste your money! We purchased a house and added Choice Home Warranty for what we thought was protection from the unexpected. We've recently had a few unexpected problems in the house. In July, we had A/C issues where the upstairs bedrooms were a consistent 85 degrees with very little airflow. They sent a tech out and he serviced the unit and said everything seemed fine (barely looked at anything just threw refrigerant in). Recharging the system barely didn't do anything. The best we could get the upstairs temperature was 75 degrees the remainder of the summer.
We filed another claim and said we still have airflow issues and the air isn't that cold. A new technician did a whole diagnostic test on everything that took two hours and submitted data and pictures. The whole system needed repairs and Choice would only cover the evaporator coil which is dirt cheap compared to $1600 Choice wanted me to pay for my portion. If I'm going to pay for $1600 they better fix the condenser, coil, and plenum that was coming apart internally. They were trying to get away with paying only $400 for a coil and nothing else.
The water heater in the house started producing 5 mins of water. The unit is over 20 years old and on their website it says it doesn't matter how old the appliance or equipment is. They denied it for sediment in the tank. The unit is 24 years old! I'm surprised it lived this long. Don't count on choice when the mechanical items in your house break down. We've lived with an upstairs that was unbearable and now are taking 5 min showers. Nice to know when you're out of a job and needed the warranty they managed to get out of covering all of it.

Since you all have asked for my testimonial, I'm going to give it but I'm sure you won't like it and I'm also sure you will not respond or post it. I moved in June to a new home that included a CHOICE home warranty. The first time I'm have an issue and am trying to use the warranty, I am getting the runaround. I have a leak either in my refrigerator or the water line running to the refrigerator. It is ruining my wood floors in my kitchen and hallway. I consider this an emergency. I tried to call to report the issue and get a claim started on Monday 10/5/2020 but could NEVER get through to talk with a real person so I went on line to file a claim.
The earliest they could have a technician assigned to my claim was a week and a half away - next Wed 10/14/2020. My whole downstairs wood floors will be ruined by then. I called the company that you all assigned my claim to, Memarkable at ** today (10/7/2020) to see if they could come today and they all but laughed at me and said I was lucky to get the 10/14/2020 appointment. Surely you all have other companies that you work with that could take care of emergencies EMERGENTLY. This is ridiculous! Horrible customer service! I've had other Home Warranties with other companies and this is by far the worst I've ever experienced.

I am a jack of all trades and a master of none so when I could not figure out why the oven smelled so much like propane even after my adjustments I figured it was time to hire a pro! Joe was that pro with Appliance Repair Specialists! He came in and made me feel comfortable from the start! He wore all the necessary protective gear to protect me and my family from COVID as best as he could. One hour later and a few quick adjustments that only a professional would know our oven was working like a champ and the smell was practically non-existent! I had received an email from Choice saying that due to an extended response time by a technician I could hire my own. I waited several weeks for Choice to schedule a technician, But that never happened. I received several more emails stating that I could hire a technician. I did so, paying out of my own pocket, and then Choice denied reimbursement. It took probably a month for me to talk to anyone in customer service. They would never return my phone calls. When I spoke to the service rep, she told me that reimbursement was excluded in the warranty. I told her the email that I received stated that it was covered. She didn’t seem to care, and would not transfer me to Anyone who would care or her supervisor. My policy was extended to cover the swimming pool and spa. Choice gladly took the money for the contract, but when it came to coverage for repairs, everything was denied. It turns out it excludes more coverage than it includes.

Called Saturday morning, they said the company would and set appointment, no call so called them, it’s 89 degrees in house and 93 outside. Said they can’t come out till Monday because Choice won’t pay them to come out on weekends. Tried calling choice back, no answer, no nothing. They didn’t come out till 4 o’clock Monday afternoon. In the meantime we sat in a 90 degree house all weekend. One good thing is we’re still married.

I have been contacting CHW about 2 claims I declined payment for. I was offered $ 299.99 to replace a washing machine and $ 299.99 to replace a stove. A manager was supposed to contact me. No one did. I called CHW several times and was told someone would call me right back. No one ever did. I am still waiting for some to respond and to contact me.

I don't think it's fair to have a flat rate to install everyone's hot water heater. I should be charged with whatever is replaced. Very unhappy about this. Don't think it is right. I have nothing more to say. When I would call no one would call me back. People were rude. I was supposed to receive several messages they said and didn't.

They have no problem taking your money every month, but when it comes to covering a repair, they look for excuses to not cover it. I filed a claim for my water heater September 28, 2020. On the 29th they approved the replacement stating I would be responsible for over $600. I immediately called them and asked how much they cover. I was told $1500 by one person. Then he hung up on me. I called back and spoke with another person and asked how much the repair cost was. He said he didn't have that information. Then hung up the phone. I called back and asked again how much of the repair they were covering. The person would not give me that information. I asked to speak with a supervisor. I was told someone would call me back.
On the 30th a supervisor called me back. When I asked what their coverage amount was, refused to give that information stating it was company policy to not disclose how much they covered. I asked him what was the process if I wanted to use my own technician. He said that was not an option. Later that evening I called back and spoke with a different supervisor who told me they agreed to cove $800. She also told me that I could select my own technician if I submitted a claim prior to repair. She said the claim would be reviewed the same day and I would have a response. Well I didn't get a response until October the 2nd deny to cover anything because the repair was made prior to approval. My tenant went 4 days without hot water waiting on Choice to approve the technician. They had already approved the repair. So they refused to cover anything.

The A/C guy came and checked the system out. He concluded that the blower motor is overheating and the TXV is not opening properly. He put a work order in to have them replaced and only the blower motor was approved. The TXV is going to cause numerous other problems with the A/C unit such as making the compressor overheat and burn out along with the new blower motor. You are going to be spending a lot more money in the near future fixing things that are caused by not fixing the problem now.

My name is Mike and I got a fair description of our New Home Warranty. For instance, I was not told about the amount of the deductible. In fact there was no talk about the deductible at all. I am 56, have had several heart attacks, a triple bypass, and I am a very forgetful man. They denied a water heater claimed. Once I submitted a an appeal they gave me a reason that was not true "pre existing repairs." When I explained to her I bought the Policy and paid it upfront and I told them I was a first time homeowner I asked them what was the requirements if they were send an inspector for to check on the existing appliances conditions. They said, "Noooo we don't. We don't need pictures. If anything of the cover appliances break just call and we will send a company and you will only be responsible for 75.00." She then changed to the tech stated the water heater was rusted and that is a pre existed condition for denial??? I said, "Really? Let ask the tech" which I did.
He then sent me pictures of other Choice Home Warranty customers that had the same issues and their water heater were in worse conditions and they were approved!!. I told her I had those pictures. She went into another lie saying rust is pre condition and she requested that I sent her my home inspection report. I told her at that point no. If they didn't asked for nothing at the beginning why are they asking now that they are being confronted?? I continue to ask for supervisor and she kept saying there were none available and kept treating me like I was an idiot. I asked for a refund asap and told her my chest was hurting and I was not going to end up in a hospital because of them. I was tired of listening to their LIES!!!
She asked, "What else can I do?" I answered, "Approved my claim or refund me." She goes, "Well per policy you were not approve to make claim" that I needed to wait 30 days. I said, "I bought it August 20 and the water heater issue was Sept 28???" She said, "Ok we will refund you $380 pro rated." I said, "Really? I paid 595.00 up front for 12 months." She said, "Yes pro rated for 2 months." I said, "Ok wait. So of this for 2 months equal 60 days based on your math." Mind you she had told me I was only 30 days into the policy. "So the claim was acceptable," she said. I said stop lying!!!! Then when I called to make the claim it was your responsibility to let me know I was not eligible.
She then said I misunderstood which I think that is their company culture. Based on the responses I have seen they make their customer look like they don't understand or belittle them with their passive aggressive behavior. Well I had to do the math for her 595.00÷12= 49.58 monthly and if I was only with them for a month my refund is $545.41. She stays quiet and said that is what I said. Again passive aggressive lying Behavior. She said I will receive an email which I did but the amount was not included. I reported to BBB and found out they got kicked out. Did my research and a lot of customers are getting together to file a lawsuit. Save your money. Do not waste your money.

My experience with Choice Home was terrible. They denied my first claim right off the bat with excuse after excuse given. I feel they outright lied to me about coverages and the 30 day grace period. I was told that after 30 days grace they would cover everything. I even told them that since this house we bought is 22 years old perhaps you should so an inspection. They said none needed after 30 days grace. I canceled my warranty after 6 weeks of service. I listened to TV commercials on Choice about how great they were, and boy was I ever fooled. There has to be an honest home warranty company out there somewhere that doesn't just take your money and deny honest claims. Read the fine print before you buy and then read it again. "Bait and switch" is what they should call the company.

This company has been the worst company I have dealt with. I wrote a former complaint with BBB. After my fridge was not tempting correctly. I put in a claim on 8/29. However, they sent out a license tech. Expert Appliance who then replaced the heating defrost and a sensor. After long 7 weeks of waiting on countless phone calls and emails. This company has given me the big run around. After stating that going without a fridge for over 7 weeks feeding a family of 5 has been nothing but stressful.
After all that they told me that they can only pay out 389 dollars until they found out the first tech. is the one who completely damaged my fridge. Which ended up costing me 2014.00 dollars for a whole new fridge plus they tore a hole in my tile which is also going to cost me. Which also devalued my home due to now all my appliances are no longer they same product. They then offered me 439 dollars when it's all said in done. I have to wait additional 30 days for them to even issue out the check to begin with.
After they send me this check my contract with them is DONE!!! This company is no home warranty. This company is fraud to say the least. They want you to pay your monthly service fee but when you need the help from them they give you the worst customer service, worst license tech. and worst payout all because they have a contract with Home Depot for bulk fridges. They can only offer the least amount. We live in the 2000 century. You can't find a fridge nowadays for less than 1500 dollars. This company needs to be shut down and investigated to say the least.

My claim was denied because we did not wait for approval prior to having the technician complete the repair. We waited 2 hours before completing the repair. All paperwork was submitted timely by me personally. I was finally able to get the case manager to approve $500 of the $713 water heater we purchased however she refused to pay any of the labor costs because the technician did not respond to your inquiry on what the labor costs entailed. I would think labor costs would be self explanatory. I am extremely unhappy with my service/experience with Choice Home Warranty.

I purchased a policy in June 2020 on the recommendation of a friend who had a Choice Home Warranty. In late September 2020 my dishwasher leaked. I called Choice. A repair person came on 10/1/20. He thought it would cost about $300 to repair. I received an email later that day saying I would receive $179.99 toward a replacement. The CHEAPEST dishwasher through Lowes is $340 NOT including installation and haul away. I have heard from LorinJorge via email and attempted to call he - to NO avail. So far my service has been lackluster and NOT worthy of a recommendation.

My refrigerator went out, I called, they sent tech, tech said compressor is bad. Choice said it was cheaper to replace. I declined their offer of 599.99. Since I declined the offer a case manager was assigned and was to call me on 24 hours. It has been 7 days, haven't heard a word even though I have called 4x and sent 2 emails. BBB's website shows a lawsuit filed against them from the AG of Arizona. I will be calling my AG today.

Nothing was covered on this service repair. The technician was good but the fact that the claim was accepted knowing it wouldn't be covered was frustrating. Home warranties are tricky and it seems like a lot is covered but it always seems to be the opposite.

My stove, again, had some problems with the burners. I called Choice Claim Dept. and as usual I was greeted by a very friendly customer service representative. Due to the Covid-19 situation it took a little longer than usual to find an available electrician in my area. Once one was found, the service visit was done by a knowledgeable and polite gentleman that wore a face mask the whole time he was in my house. Went to open my garage door this morning and all the cables broke. I cannot open the garage door manually or by using the remotes. We have been waiting for our hot tub (which was included in our contract) to be repaired. First I was told it was covered, after a month of waiting a technician came in and determined the pump wasn’t working, he ordered the part and he was supposed to come back. Now we found out we have to pay out of pocket. If we want it fixed. We think the company should’ve told us before we included the hot tub in our contract, because now you say is above ground and is not covered. After two months going back and forth. First Choice said they couldn’t find a technician and now is not covered. We are disappointed and we are canceling our contract.

Happened June 22 2020 and took until 10/2/2020 to get any resolution. Insane. And replacement value given was substantially less than I could replace the units for. I agreed to this number just because they took soo long to settle. I probably could have held out for more. but, they make it insanely difficult.

Air ducts need repairs and/or replaced. Before buying this policy I asked if it included ductwork and was told it covered repairs and replacement. It DOES NOT! Also due to your errors in not sending technicians that work on ductwork, I had to pay multiple $85 payments, which I was told I pay 1 deductible per claim!

Was told by Choice that they could not find a plumber to work on my garbage disposal but if I could find someone I would be reimbursed by Choice, which is exactly what I did. I paid the plumber and he notified Choice to validate the repair was complete. They told him that I would be reimbursed for approximately $225. Never received anything and my claim now is denied. I’ll meet with the AG’s office Monday morning at 10:30. Have discussed ad infinitum. Will cancel as soon as my contract expires. By the way the plumber is willing to validate everything I am claiming to the AG.

Offered first $179 then after discussing with Nichole $300 was offered and accepted. It will cost me more than $800 to replace the same dishwasher. I ended up buying a smaller new dishwasher for $560. Very displeased at the offer.

So having CHW did me no good with that...so in my opinion paid my premium for the coverage for naught for my garbage disposer in June of 2020.. Now we come to the hot water heater in August 2020.. Here we go once again...the circle jerk...back & forth...with me caught in the middle...it is just all so stupid... So I finally had to go to a supervisor to get some action & start to get the ball rolling... Hope it gets taken care of soon so that we can get our home back to normal & I can finally get some hot water...take a hot bath/shower...do laundry...run my dishwasher...etc... Thank you so very much... I hate to think that one must always be the squeaky wheel in order to be heard...

Amen was quick to call and appointment was set for the very next day. He did arrange his schedule to accommodate ours. He assessed the problem and corrected it. He is a very friendly and polite young man. The only issue is what Choice paid, this cost us $245.00, Amar explaining what Choice pass for., we had to pay for the service.

Technician who came out was on time and polite. Quickly assessed problem. Waiting for claims review by CHOICE and repair of our refrigerator. We were told it will be reviewed and we will be contacted within 2 days to re-schedule technician.

Very impressed with the timely process of scheduling an appt. for a garbage disposal issue. Repairman (Demitri) was excellent and on time. Based on what I have been told by friends that home warranty cos. were terrible, I was amazed. Thank you!

I used the website to place the order. Within a few minutes I had a response. The plumber was here 2 days later and reset the toilet and repaired the sink faucet. Alan from ASN home services did an excellent job. I am very happy with his service and with Choice Home Warranty.

They allow vendors with zero out of five ratings to bid on your repairs. They don’t show up. They don’t respond or even call you at all. Even though you take the day off work and then have to wait additional days for other people to come out and repair something that was reported a week ago. Very poor customer service, very poor vendor usage, and you may save some money but will wait multiple days to get repairs done.

I submitted a claim for our garage door opener, within 3 hours I had an email saying the repair person would be here the following morning. The repair person arrived right on time and had the repair completed less than 24 hours after I submitted the claim. Great customer service.

I’ve had a lot of problems with my ac but in only 2 visits ARKTIKOS ac & heating solved everything. They are fast, efficient, friendly and really know their stuff. Kudos to you for having them your ac person! I’d hire them even without a warranty!
