    I wasn’t expecting special consideration being given for being senior status. I had picked the high option plan when Luis asked if I was a senior or a veteran. I told him I was a senior. He asked if he could take a minute and check something. I said yes. He came back and told me of a senior plan that had a no increase in yearly service if I signed up for a three year plan. I told him that suited me perfectly. Luis was kind and considerate and was kind enough to repeat some answers for me. You have a good employee.

    I want you to know I have retired recently and been shopping for a home warranty! I was lucky enough to receive a telephone promotion phone call. When I was referred to Francis ** in the sales department, I finally got exactly what I expected from Choice Home Warranty! Your advertisements and consistent emails proved to me that you would be just as likely to serve me as completely! This employee Francis, absolutely did deliver! I made a point of telling him so oh, and also that he made my day!

    My first Contact was with Tanya from the call center and on this initial phone call I spoke to a salesperson that provoked me to the point where I dismissed him by hanging up on him!! I called back, ask for management and was put on a waiting queue. I waited a short time and then call back directly to the sales Center, because I went to your website which was very complete and gave me instant and direct contact with Francis. The nature of the professional attitude that Francis delivered immediately made it worth calling back! He made sure I understood that what I had experienced with the previous salesman was unacceptable and that he would definitely make it right! Then much to my surprise I got to experience the different levels such as VIP. I did not know there was even an extended warranty available oh, and the telephone promotion price was so good that I wound up purchasing a 6 year plan!

    I would never have known about any of this had I not been inclined to listen to the salesperson I finally did get a hold of. His method of explanation was concise and easy to understand. His great attitude was a relief, and also exactly what I would expect of Choice Home Warranty, which is the reason I responded in the very first place. Six months of shopping through different home warranty companies made my choice easy thanks to the promotion call, and the subsequent follow-up by Superior sales person who showed me the value of my purchase of a home warranty policy!!

    Feels good going into the new year fully covered for my most recent efforts at home improvement, including all brand-new appliances, 2 new bathrooms and all Electric and Plumbing.! Again having recently retired and going on to fixed-income makes this an even more valuable policy! I absolutely plan on discussing my purchase with my friends and family and encouraging them to do the same! It just makes great and good sense! Thank you very much!

    The top bar across the garage door had become detached and bent when the door opener mechanism started moving.     On Christmas day my washer machine broke down. A very nice Technician diagnosed the problem as having to repair two items. I spoke with voice once more to discuss the issue. Eventually a case manager told me they would cut me a check for $349 as a replacement value of the washer instead of repairing it. This is absolutely unfair deal because the washing machines replacement value on the low end cost approximately $500. Needless to say I was NOT happy.

    This is ridiculous. This company assigned a shady repair company to come and repair my fridge, keep in mind this is the third claim I have put in for my fridge, the first company that came out was great, the second claim, no one ever showed up or followed up. The third, well this is the all time low. I placed my claim Dec 2nd, it is not Dec 28th and I still have no fridge. The repair company will not respond to me at all. Choice Home Warranty, keeps saying they can't do anything and to wait on my technician. Not only that I am getting automated message responses from choice, like I am messaging a robot. No one cares.

    I will NEVER renew my policy with choice, I just want my money back so I can go buy a new fridge. I understand a week or waiting on parts but a month with no response is not acceptable. I have 3 kids and one of those kids is a type 1 diabetic. I doubt choice cares. Still waiting for this to be resolved. I paid a $65 service fee to the shady company they sent almost a whole month ago!!

    I purchased this warranty thinking that it was a good investment. I was wrong. In the end I lost more money than it would have just cost me to make repairs. AC unit not covered because it has to be serviced every year by a professional not by just me the owner. Washing machine not covered because Maytag has a drum warranty on the unit, they won’t do any repairs on it as a result even though the drum is fine. If you cancel with I did you get zero back in prorate if you have been paid for any other claim. Also if you cancel there is a $50 cancellation fee. Misty ** and Sean ** are the managers and know 100% how to not help you. They will refer you back to the policy article L for everything.

    Run! Run!! Run!!! I cannot emphasize this enough. My refrigerator stopped working since Thanksgiving and I cannot get Choice Home Warranty to work with me to get my refrigerator fixed to this date (12/28/2020). I left several messages to have the assigned case manager, Shawn ** (Misty Durden-Manager) call me to no avail. Please go somewhere else, deal with another warranty company. The hassle with Choice Home Warranty is not worth it at all. I going back to American Home Shield because I did not have to deal with this ordeal.

    Needed garbage disposal fixed. CHW sent out an inferior company A & A heating and cooling, which they have had many complaints about. Results were my dishwasher didn't work and A & A said it was broken. After several calls to them and to CHW and asking about canceling my policy I finally was able to speak to a resolution consular. Finally a new company was sent out and fixed the problem quickly. Nothing wrong with the dishwasher. Plumbing not finished on the disposal and plug not removed. But I am out another $85. Started this in Oct. Finally resolved in December.

    Had both my toilets clog late Christmas Eve and I submitted a claim that night and was assigned a plumber the next day. Only issue was they were not able to get a plumber over sooner on an emergency basis rather just referred me to contact them myself.     We have Choice Warranty coverage for our house. We recently had an issue with our HVAC system (Trane). We specifically requested that Choice send out a qualified technician, and they said they would. The guy they sent out only ended up damaging the system more. After he was unable to fix the HVAC system, he said that the system broke due to our negligence and from a 'catastrophic failure' (he said the inner heating element was cracked/damaged). Due to this report, the claim to fix the HVAC system was denied. We ended calling another HVAC repairman, who easily fixed the HVAC system (he fixed some wiring and adjusted the inlet propane pressure). To me, that sounds far from catastrophic.

    We contacted Choice Warranty with his invoice, but they would still not honor the claim. In my opinion, Choice Warranty hires incompetent repairmen. We already had issues with the quality of service before. I'd look elsewhere for a home warranty provider. The only business Choice Warranty is in is taking your money, not for providing a service to fix your appliances.

    Updated on 03/05/2021: Our Tech showed up on time, was quick and efficient in troubleshooting. Determined the the thermostat was bad, replaced it and things are normal. Only disappointment is that when I questioned the prior tech in December about the thermostat that I thought could have been the prior problem, he said it checked out. So now 3 service calls on one device in a year. Two of whom recommended a new furnace. How do I go about CHOICE giving the go ahead to replace this aging relic.

    Original Review: We arrived back home after several weeks away and found the gas heat furnace not turning on. After reporting this to Choice, we promptly received the assigned tech to provide service. Unfortunately we reported on Thursday evening and the service was scheduled Saturday afternoon. Facing two nights in a house without heat for two elderly people was a possibly difficult health hazard. As recommended by Choice, we contacted the tech and requested an earlier service time.

    We spent a very uncomfortable night Thursday in the house with portable heaters that were not sufficient and every blanket, quilt and all the clothing we had and we still could not sleep as the tempatures were well below freezing. The tech contacted us Friday morning and stated that he would try to get to us later in the day, he called about 5 pm to state that he was on the way. He arrived maybe a half an hour later and within a short period of time he identified the problem but could not fix as a part needed to be ordered. However, he provided a workaround the provided heat by turning on the furnace and the blower to run full time. This provided us with a much more comfortable evening. He will schedule a return when the part is available. We are very appreciative for his effort to address our issues.

    I have not been happy with my recent experiences with Choice. We had a very knowledgeable technician to come out and diagnose a problem with our heater and Choice refused to pay for the work. The Tech stated the system was old and needed to be replaced and was not due to misuse. Choice said it was rust and corrosion and they don’t pay for that. Well The tech did not see any rust or corrosion. We had someone come out and take a second look and agreed with the first technician. The picture sent to Choice did not show any rust or corrosion so basically they lied and came up with their own assessment that wasn’t based in facts of the Information or picture sent and did not pay for the replacement.

    The company that came out to take a second look said, "We used to work with Choice and they often disapprove claims if that aren’t minor." Our family and friends also agreed that they have been disapproved for any claim that isn’t a minor repair. Also, We’ve recently had two encounters with two very unprofessional technicians within 30 days. Choice did correct the issue in both situations but one situation with the heater caused us to have to be without heat for about 30 days in one of the incidents.

    Choice Home Warranty has asked for a review of my recent claim experience. This is the second claim I have made through my home warranty. On the first, it was six weeks between the time of my initial claim submission and actually having a repairman at my house. In that time, I called nearly every day to inquire of a technician being scheduled for the repair. Bear in mind, the repair in question was a water leak inside the wall that was doing more damage by the day! The second claim was much the same only it was three weeks between the claim & assigning a technician. During that time I asked repeatedly to speak to a supervisory which was denied each time.     On Dec 12 I made a work claim because house heating system stopped working. Temperature outside - 40 degrees. The Choice contract says they will provide service within 4 days. On the 5th day I called Choice & was told they are waiting for a call back from the provider. No verification whether Choice had tried to re-call provider. Dec 17th I got an e-mail that a provider would Come to house on the 21st - meaning 10 days with no heat before anyone looks at the problem.

    Fortunately the tech from Hero Heating Air felt that was inappropriate and came to the house on the 18th, ID'd the problem, & contacted Choice. I then got an e-mail from Choice saying the replacement/repair would be done the end of the month. Hero H & Air again felt that timeline was not appropriate and is coming to the house today, the 23rd. Today's temperature is below freezing as there is ice on the deck & car.     The circuit board on the garage door opener shorted out. Choice sent a specialist out to check it out. The circuit board can't be replaced so entire opener will be replaced. My door has a keypad on it and choice apparently does not replace that part. It's part of the system so I would think it would be covered, but not. Also Choice only provides 1 door opener also not Ideal since we have 2 cars. Overall it will cost me the deductible plus $50.00 for the keypad.     When we called CHW, the second time, due to another problem in our home. Realizing that it must be electrical, & had nothing to do with the microwave, suddenly blinking & shutting down. It's when we had the power surge!! Everything in one part of house that was on went OFF along with a LOUD BANG! We had to call the Fire Dept. to make sure everything was ok. CHW called right back with the name of an electrical co. Mr.Circuit Elec. They originally said they couldn't come until 4 days later.     I had an odor coming from my downstairs shower drain. I tried Drano, fishing out the drain manually, and pouring soda and vinegar down, as recommended, and did not work. So I called Choice for a plumber. It was determined the p-trap was leaking and not prevented sewer gas from entering the home and would cost $1800 to repair.     My washer started leaking water, but once it was checked, we found that it was the sensor that went bad. So the washer couldn't tell when the tub was full of water. The part was ordered by the plumber and it was fixed. Choice home warranty's approval for it to be fixed came on time even though it was close to Thanksgiving. And the plumber (Red Plumbing) also did a good job of coming back to fix the washer once he got the part, even though it was Sunday! The part came in the night before and he didn't want me to have to wait until the following week! How wonderful! So everyone did their part to make everything work out in good time. It stinks to have a house full of dirty clothes (pun intended).

    Place claim and when a received the contact, it was 10 days out. That meant 10 days without water. Call service line and was told that was the as soon as they could come out. She gave me their number and said I could call them and see if they could do better. In other word, I was to work out. My neighbor came over and replaced the pressure switch and I cancelled the claim number. 10 days without water did not seem to bother Choice Home.

    I would not recommend Choice Home Warranty to my worst friend. They will handle small claims decently. But they neglect to highlight the $1,500 cap per claim. A question my wife And I asked about when signing up. And we were only told about the $10,500 per year per house. They want me to pay for my own repairs. And they are horrible at showing you the numbers but claim they are using the numbers to tell you how much you will have to pay.
