    My refrigerator was leaking so much that it was running across my kitchen floor. Couldn't wait for Choice warranty to find someone, so I found Watts repairs online. He came right out, found my problem, order parts, came back on Tuesday, made repairs and I paid him. Ask to be refunded and couldn't be refunded. Had I waited on Choice Warranty I probably had to replace the floor.

    Technician came out collected service fee then left have to wait another 2 weeks before oven is repaired because he said it needs approved. That’s garbage and a waste of technician's time. It was an easy fix and now we can’t use our oven for 3 flippin' weeks. This warranty is a joke. Very mad customer!!! And technician came from another town 40 minutes away!!!!

    The technician who can put was great. He’s ordering our parts on Monday, but no heat for another week. CHW states “All components and parts of the following systems: Ducted Central Electric Split and Package Units, Forced Air (gas, electric, oil).” We need a gas valve and “it’s not covered”. I am waiting for a case manager to contact me. I guessing because it’s a $750 part they are claiming “not covered”. If this is not resolved I will NEVER buy a warranty from this company again. I will warn everyone I know not to either.

    Haven't heard from contractor or CHW. Been before Christmas with no results. Electric bill continues to increase. Contractor came out work on unit. Turned unit off.     I am only giving the five stars to your contractor Degree for being on time, explaining to me the problem which was a leaky inner coil on my heat pump. No stars for Choice Home Warranty who denied my claim stating it was leaking from rust and corrosion on the inner coil. Degree told me and your adjuster Shauntel ** that there was no rust or corrosion and that my unit was 5 years old and there was very little dust inside which would not have caused the leak.

    I have made so many appeals and got different answers from Shauntel, Shauntel in beginning said it was rust and corrosion. Then when I spoke to her 12/31/2020, she said it was from dirt and debris. I no longer have any faith in your company. I have Chronic Kidney Failure State 3, GERD, Small Intestinal, Bacteria Overgrowth, Diabetes and many more and I kept getting the run around from you while I was freezing. I am going to be 80 years old and should not have to be going thru this. If I don't hear by phone 1/3/21, I am going to report this abuse to Three on Our Side and the Better Business Bureau.

    Vendor concluded replacement. Received notification for $249. When I wrote asking case manager to review, per your record case manager assigned on Dec 3 never contacted me until Dec 28 after I called in three times leaving two VM. When she contacted me I was told per your policy the replacement cost was only partial not full. I asked her to send me particular policy in this regards. She never did. After threatening I will switch my policy after this incident I was told a managerial review was suited for 359 - all verbal never in written. Until today when I login I cannot see this conversation recorded nor number confirmed yet I ly one line saying check to send. Without know how much I was granted I contacted local vendor with minimum cost 419 I paid and replace schedule next Monday.

    I am disappointed about this experience. This was my initial testing for hoe warranty as my other rental all using old republic and recently I just replaced a $661 washer for my tenant straightforward. If the cost of saving $100 annual premium with you is to exchange my actual pocket expenses higher in this case of dishwasher 419-249=160 and even assuming you did grant 359( not sure yet) -429=negative 60 it is not a saving for me from switching to yours unless the replacement experience is more friendly and does guarantee a minimum replacement instead of arguing or begging. I strongly appreciate someone could contact me to clarify the replacement policy before I decide to switch my other 4 properties with you or vice versa. Appreciate your time looking into this!     I purchased a Home Warranty so I wouldn't have to worry about unexpected issues. When my water heater's thermostat went out, I looked in my brochure and verified that it was a covered item. I did not read through the entire brochure until it was brought to my attention in an email that CHW would not cover my water heater issue because it was an 80 gallon tank, and CHW only covers up to 75 gallons. I purchased the home with that tank already installed and had no idea that my warranty, of all things, would be the problem later on. It truly irritates me seeing the water heater as a "covered item" when I got screwed over by the fine print and had to come out of pocket for the replacement parts. Had I known something as silly as a 5 gallon difference was going to be an issue, I probably would've sought a different company for my home warrant needs.

Repairman showed me his report and he claimed wear and tear and needed to be replaced. When declining claim you mentioned rust.     You guys say it's my neglect that caused my heat exchanger to crack but the service tech said it was nothing I could do to prevent this and that my unit is18 years old and that it happened over time... I got three opinions and they all said the same.. If it doesn't have a life time warranty that means at some point in time it will fail.. My furnace is clean.     The Tech did a great job. The problem is that Choice Home Warranty replaces items that need to be replaced with lower valued items. When I needed a new dish washer, I had to pay about 135 on top of what Choice would pay to get the same quality item. When I needed a new dryer, I had to pay 111 dollars on top of what they paid to get the same brand of washer. And this last time, I had a top of the line faucet in my kitchen. They bought me a cheap much smaller faucet.

    New to this company. First claim was for plumbing issues. Filed a request, had a technician scheduled to come and no one showed up and no one called. Called to check on it. New appointment. Set technician never showed up or called. Third time someone finally came out and told us the issue was not covered under the warranty. Then our hot water heater went out and we’ve been waiting three weeks now for someone to come back and fix it. When you file a Request for repair they send it to someone else who then contact you to schedule the appointment. When the technician arrives they don’t fix anything. They simply look at the issue and take your $75 and tell you someone else will be back to fix it at another time. Apparently three weeks later that is if they come. It could be longer. So far this company has been of no service or help.

    We have had a leak for 7 days now. We filed the claim on 12/23 and didn’t not have it addressed until the following Monday 12/28. After paying the $75 and waiting over 24 hours I am notified our claim was initially denied. I immediately appealed the decision and was supposed to have a response within 24 hours. I received an email with the person handling the appeal and their contact info. I have called multiple time and either get a “no answer at this extension” recorded message or hung up on (twice). I have also emailed the “claim manager” numerous times with no response. I have also left messages on the online portal with no response. Poor customer service and follow up.     In the early hours of Christmas morning my furnace went out, I called Choice Warranty and their representative attempted to locate a repair person who was enrolled in their system. Shortly thereafter I received a email from choice warranty telling me that their search for a repair person had come up empty; allowing me to locate a local repair service in order to get my furnace back in operation as soon as possible.

    After calling numerous heating and air conditioning businesses in the local area I was finally able to make contact with the service individual on standby for a company called Precision Mechanical. The service technician on call for my area was located in a town an hour and 1/2 away from my address.     I noticed that there was no hot water at my home and contact Choice Home Warranty that morning, Dec 22, 2020. They were kind and took my information down stating that they would contact a local contractor who would contact me. I received an email stating who the contractor was, their phone number and that they couldn't come to my house until the following Monday, Dec 28. I called them later that morning and they said they had a cancellation Saturday afternoon but that would be the quickest they could come.

    We struggled over Christmas with no hot water. Saturday came and the contractor showed up as promised. I paid him the $45 fee and he said he had a water heater on his truck but couldn't install it until Choice approved it because they may have a less expensive vendor, I didn't like they answer but respected it. He said we will know Monday afternoon. Sure enough we received an email from Choice Monday afternoon denying our claim stating since it was the storage tank leaking, it was not covered.

    So, instead of asking me during the call to explain what was the problem in detail, they dragged it out for 6 days and then denied it. Had they said on the call it is possible the water heater leaky tank is not covered, we would have replaced it ourselves, that day. Instead they ruined my Christmas. I replaced the water heater in about two hours and the cost of the water heater was approximately $580, plus the $45 for the contractor to come say "Yup, its a defective water heater". Seems like a cop out in their procedure to me.

    I made a claim regarding a front load washing machine. The claims process was simple to do and the tech came out the next day. It was determined that the unit would be replaced. I received an almost immediate email on how to do the replacement process. The email offered $547 for replacement of the unit. I contacted the company about offer I was given as the amount was much less than what a front load washer cost is even for a more basic model. I spoke to Charlie and he informed me that the replacement price was based on a rate that Choice can get if they were to purchase a front load washing machine. He specifically called it a bulk rate. He informed me that I could go back to the offer and ask to have an account manager call me to appeal the offer.

    I followed this process and the communication was quick...within 2 days I spoke someone. I was told there is no appeal process. I have to take the offer given. Per the account manager, the company has a private list of pricing and she cannot tell me how the number was arrived at...other than to say it is based on features, capacity, and energy rating. I asked her to show me any front load was with similar features, capacity, and energy rating that could be purchased for $547. She stated she was unable to do so and replacement does not mean retail.

    I feel calling the plan a repair or replace is misleading. I cannot replace my broken product for the amount given. I feel the process lacks transparency as the reps are unable to share the guidelines for how a replacement amount is determined. I verified the process again...such as if my furnace breaks...what will the replacement amount be and was told it varies but would not be retail. I am not at all satisfied with this plan I purchased because of this. They were very nice on the phone, communication was excellent and the site easy to use. However, my main reason for purchasing a home warranty is the repair or replacement and it fails at replacement.

    Choice Home Warranty has only one window there customer service number and when you file complain they took very prompt action by sending email and appointing the company to get the complain resolved. Very quick action. The technician call and will visit and on their visit they ask the service fees which we have to pay. They resolve the problem and took the check and tells the customer that they have 30 days warranty for the repair. Very sad to say that I am the victim of them because I complain for my heating system. It’s so cold. They fix the heating system and did not complete the job and when I told the customer service that my heating system is still not working they have only two, three answers (WE ARE SORRY.     Although the technician was able to clear my stopped up plumbing but he said if he had to go on roof there is a charge of 299.00. It seems that when I call for a repair there’s an issue with small print and things will always cost more than what you thought. I had a stove that could not get parts so instead of they they say replace stove they gave me $175.00 to buy a new stove. It didn’t happen. I had to come out of pocket. Just really disappointed with Choice. The only thing they done without extra charge or trying to get extra to unplug my toilet. I pay my premium every month. I wish all the fine print would be bold print.

    I am very disappointed with Choice Home Warranty. I have used them twice since taking out my policy (Sept 2020) and both times I was told that due to COVID they could not find technicians for me. The first time was my furnace and we had to wait days before they found me someone and yet when they did the technician said that COVID was not an issue for them. This time it was a clog in my sewer line and immediately after filing the claim I again was told due to COVID they could not find a technician.

    I was offered Claim Reimbursement, which means I have to find the plumber and pay out of pocket then be reimbursed. I found the plumber and had the issue resolved but now am being told the technician did not submit enough information and did they do this before they did that. I pray they cover all but my $85 but at this point I am not sure. I do not have the time to be tracking down technicians or to be following up with them on whether they did this before they did that. My understanding is this is part of what I pay Choice Home Warranty for.

    Choice H. W. sent Bennett and Sons to repair. The Technician reported the problem was the Thermostat, and other related parts which had to be ordered. I paid the required $60. Since the Technician was not sure of the problem?, I called the builders furnace installer (Sun Kool inc), the tech said the heater blower modular was inop. Before Sun Kool left they had the furnace working. I had to cover the cost but had heat and cancelled Bennett & Sons, the warranty’s referral.

    I have two accounts with Choice on two different properties. I have found that they will replace smaller appliances, but not the larger (more expensive) units. For example, they gave reimbursement to cover the PARTIAL amount of a new washer. But they refused to cover any of the cost of replacing two of my furnaces. They will claim that the damage is not normal wear and tear and refuse to reimburse any of the cost in replacement.

    We had a plumber come to look at the water heater, he told us exactly what the problem was and what was going to be needed to be fixed. Then they send an electrician, who not only tells us THE EXACT SAME thing- asks for the money before he walked in the door. He was rude and unprofessional and didn't bother to take the time to explain- he said too bad, took our money and left.

    Not only will I NOT recommend this company to ANYONE, I will strongly advise them to look elsewhere or just save their money in a savings account to pay for repairs. The service fees are what really make me mad. The first one, fine I can see that. But to pay some jerk to come in my house, knock stuff off my wall and break my dustpan without bothering to pick it up-then tell me the exact same thing I already paid 65 bucks for - no way. Turns out after TWO service fees for the same diagnosis- the repairs to connect the wires WONT be covered by the warranty. So glad to have wasted TWICE the service fees on top of the money we had paid for the useless warranty. I will not be renewing our warranty contract either. My tagline will be DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

    We opened a claim Dec 17th when our furnace began emitting carbon monoxide. After 3 technicians declared it condemned Choice Home Warranty still refuses to replace the unit claiming technician stated rust was the issue.     I called my first claim in August 2019. The needed to replace the computer component on my new dishwasher as it was running long cycles and not draining. This year, it started doing the same thing. A tech came in August, was rude, and didn't correct the issue. For weeks I attempted to call choice to get another tech to come out. Their automated service never called back. Finally in September I waited at least an hour on hold to talk to someone and schedule an appointment. They wanted me to pay another service fee, which I stated I would not as I was trying to reach them for weeks from the lack of repair the previous month. I requested management assistance and it took weeks and threatening to cancel my account before they agreed to send someone out. They sent another tech who wanted to reroute the drain to the disposal before changing out the computer components. Choice denied this "fix."

    I asked customer service what the next step would be then, and they said I needed to contest the decision in order to move on with getting the dishwasher fixed. I was assigned a "case manager" who was out of town when I called. I emailed her with a summary of the events to date and a list of what I saw as options to proceed. Without any call, email or other conversation, I received notice that my account was cancelled and they were only going to refund me less than a third of what I stated should be the pro-rated amount left on my account.

    Since then, they refuse to talk to me stating "my account is closed, there is nothing to do." I have stated that the account wasn't supposed to be closed and have requested upper management assistance multiple times. They have continued to ignore all requests for dialogue or resolution. This company is blatantly avoiding any responsibility to fix the dishwasher issues originally presented, and instead have further exasperated the situation.

    I have attempted to write them almost daily and they REFUSE to correct their error, stating that I requested the cancellation of the policy. Go to any of the many Facebook pages dedicated to people who have been scammed by this terrible company. BBB NJ has over 7000 complaints alone. THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN!!
