    It's sad to report the bad experience while getting new policy over the phone, the rep. was not up the CHOICE standers, lots of things went wrong in one phone call! So the lower rate goes to that call and that representative. For CHW leadership kindly view the call & get back to me, hopefully, soon. The incident been reported to improve the serv. offered by CHW & to help the rep. to make the needed improvements, that's been said, regardless this unprofessional and bad one phone call experience, I will continue to keep the biz with CHOICE & refer CHW to others.

    The technician was very good and quickly disassembled the non working unit. When the repair was submitted for claim you denied it...What am I paying for? Do I need my lawyer to inspect the fine print? You have been getting paid every month and this may have been my first claim...The previous Home Warranty company had honored their claims including replacing an old cooktop which had failed. They dropped the ball on another claim, so I made a change.

    Choice Home Warranty has lost the ability to provide quality customer service. With my A/C unit the heat went out. They sent a tech that wanted extra money since Choice does not pay them well enough. The tech had a one star rating and said we needed a part that took a month. After the part was installed it still did not work. After two tech companies I hired my own and it was fixed for under $200. They sent 8 techs to my home for my washing machine recently and when they could not fix it, they said it must be a part that is not covered even though the tech they sent did not even attempt to run a load. I told them this and the fact it had been 2 months of no call backs from them and 2 supervisors failing to contact me and they would not do anything for me. This has become the worst company I have ever dealt with.

    After CHW took over a month to get a technician to take the job from their company, the Technician that came in Tempco heating and Air did a great job. They diagnosed, got approval and parts the same day and were back to preform the repair in a couple hours. Tempco was great. CHW is a pain in the butt to work with however, no one wants to take their job. They are such a pain. For my claim.

    Last year our garbage disposal went out and the plumber you sent was amazing. Very nice. Very friendly. I would take him any time for any plumbing job. Now the AC guy he was nice. He goes your AC unit needs to be cleaned out and he told my husband you have been cleaned out real quick just little extra charge. All he did was take a garden hose, rinse the outside screen and charged us 45 more dollars on top of the 65 so no I do not care for him and I will never want him back in our house but other words everybody we talked to but we have no complaints of.

    Submitted repair for 2 bathroom exhaust fans. 1st tech lied and said I was not available for appt. I talked with the tech and he said my claim did not come through on his phone and I needed to re-submit through CHS because he was not coming. CHS re-scheduled with another company and tech did not show up again. Called CHS to complain and rep. told me I had to reach out to tech to re-schedule. Why does the customer have to keep calling a tech scheduled by CHS to do the work? This does not provide customer service for the customer.

    I asked to speak with a supervisor. Supervisor called, apologized, and re-scheduled work for me. That's how you treat your customer. These contractor techs are trifling. I have work and kids I have to supervise to get their school work done. I don't have time to keep calling technicians. This is my first time submitting a claim on my policy in almost 3 years and I am really dissatisfied with the process in place to get repairs done.

    I signed up for their complete home warranty coverage 2 months ago. My semiannual HVAC service company informed me that my furnace blower was in need of replacement causing the system to overheat. I called and set up a claim. One of their contractors came out and basically told me the same thing as the maintenance co. Choice denied the claim & referring to some vague info in their agreement. I called them asking that my last payment be refunded and canceled. They refused to give me a refund so I canceled.

    Updated on 02/02/2021: I placed 2 claims on December 28, 2020. Here we are in February and I am still waiting on both claims. I have heard every excuse in the book. This is truly not the way to treat paying customers. I have been a customer for 2 years, and I will not recommend this company, nor will I use them in the future. This shouldn't be allowed, they are a scam and take advantage of people. I don't know what else to do at this point with the exception of hiring an attorney, which is my next step.

    Original Review: I placed a claim on 12/28/20 they sent out a tech for my shower valve. Once diagnosed Choice Home Warranty decided they didn't want to pay the contractor price. Choice Home Warranty said they would send somebody else out, I am still waiting. It's been almost 3 weeks. This company is horrible.

    I've had Choice Home Warranty for 4 years now and I've had a few issues where I needed repairs/service. One was denied although it is stated to be covered in the information. Two have taken weeks to get a technician. Then the most recent two, I have have not only waited a long time for urgent repairs, but Choice Home Warranty could not find techs. I had to find them. I also had another roof issue that should be covered, but in an urgent roof leak situation, I could not wait until Choice found a repair person, weeks after it started. So, I found someone and the claim will not be covered because I did not get preapproval. I'm not seeing the service or value I was assured I'd receive by the sales person, or the company information. I'm supposed to be reimbursed since I had to pay the tech to do the repair, but we'll see if that happens.

When an A/C went out in August, they were not able to find anyone to come out and repair it, and told me to find someone.     Very difficult to get through and begin a claim. Then, difficult to get a contractor. Then difficult to get a contractor who shows up for an appointment. Then, difficult to get contractor to fix the problem...many times, it's misdiagnosed. Then, difficult to get CHW to pay. Overall, not worth it. They ARE good at taking payments!

    We have a furnace issue. On 1/5/2021 I had my trusted hvac professional diagnose the issue and the problem is a cracked heat exchanger. Choice sent out their contractor and he told me the same thing. Choice decided not to cover my claim under the guise of Maintenance. They would not cover my claim because they deemed it Maintenance while both HVAC professionals said otherwise. It was a terrible, irresponsible, unprofessional, unethical way to deny my claim.

    To begin with, I know these warranty companies have to have ways to make money besides the monthly payment so I was ready to have to bicker over payoffs to cover claims. That wasn't the main reason why I terminated my contract. This company operates using local technicians they hire to do the work then they have control over the labor too. The problem was that they couldn't find any technicians so I had to hire my own person so when he had estimated the job the company always disagreed with his estimate so I lost out 3 claims in a row. I couldn't take it anymore and to make it worse they refused to give me any refund even though I had at least 2 years left on the contract and they offer a refund in the policy! After the third claim I finally realized that they never did have any technicians in my area.

    I made 2 claims, one the company showed up and charged $75 to tell me about a filter not seen by the human eye that they could not service because we only changed the filter that everyone else would for "lack" of maintenance. The second time, my tenant had to leave her job and the company NEVER showed up, they didn't contact us to let us know till I contacted them to find out they were not planning to come in first place!!! My tenant had to ask for time off work, that is a big deal plus is not professional. They only want to take your money and service call money. Although they are very responsive better than another company I had that took 6 weeks and never showed up. I believe this home warranty companies are a scam.     The technician was great. But Choice reject my claim because "It has been determined that the microwave is arcing due to exposed metal inside the microwave. This is not a failure that occurs under normal wear and tear conditions." However, according to the technician and the owner of the company that serviced the microwave, the issue was the result of normal wear, and there was nothing I could have done to cause or prevent the issue.     Choice has a pretty quick turn around in booking technicians, that is one positive thing about them. Otherwise we have been unimpressed. The vendors say choice wont cover a lot of things and they are slow to pay them. Choice at one point couldn't find a technician, said we could find our own, and then wouldn't reimburse us because they found a tech right after we scheduled it. Some really important items are also not covered. Will be looking for another warranty company next year.

    Paid monthly for 2 years before for the first time calling in 2 claims. The technician did not fix my heating system and Choice Home Warranty canceled my contract due to not servicing the area and the appliance. I am trying to get a refund to help myself get the repairs without Choice Home Warranty and they refuse to fix my heating system or refund my money.     My 14 month old refrigerator broke because of the exact same issue that required it to be repaired two previous times while it was still under warranty.     Had no heat for over 2 weeks in December before a technician was sent out. I’m sure it would have been much longer had I not called multiple times and complained. The first technician said he could fix it but they didn’t like the findings so it dragged out another several days until another technician could come out. Bottom line the warranty company apparently does not pay the repair companies enough money that’s why it took so long to get repaired. If you have to raise your subscription rates in order to get service technicians then do it. Having to wait weeks for the initial service call is unacceptable.

    Updated on 01/07/2021: Waiting for refund for the next (4) four years of my service agreements on two properties, along with documentation showing amount of refund per Philips promise, per phone conversation! Also, refund of expenses and labor!

    Original: I had two commode to back up and a shower leak. Could unplug the commode therefore contacted Choice to resolve both issues. To start with I received an email the next morning stating that I may want to locate someone to handle the problems (well that's a big part of the reason I elected to go with a Home Warranty, to have someone else to handle getting the contractor). Well they followed up with a another email stating they have a contractor coming between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM then another stating between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

    Stayed home all day, no show. Call contractor, no answer, emailed no response, texted no response! Call Choice Home Warranty and was told contractor could be running late. I told her if he was coming he had to be running late (he was close to an hour past 3:00 PM overdue). Long story short, nothing done! Back in my hands... I went and purchased the items to resolve the issues and spending a total of 5 hours to resolve the issues. I asked for money for items and labor (ignored). Finally was told to send information to a email response at which the customer service never sent to me an email to respond to!

    You sent your repairman out, he diagnosed the problem as the motherboard. He ordered the part, repaired the refrigerator. We plugged it in while it was sitting in my driveway right next to the entrance to the garage. It sat there all night and the next morning when l went out to check and see if it was getting cold, the door was open I then propped the door closed and went to town. And when I got back the door was blown plum off and all bent up and warped. The repairman tried to tell me a whirlwind must have picked it up and dropped it. Now it hadn't moved from the exact spot it was in. There is no way a whirlwind picked up that refrigerator. My rose bush sitting right next to it didn't lose one flower. It pressured up from the inside and blew the door off. I had another incident where you didn't pay after telling me it was covered. It was my shower faucet.

    Lawrence took my info and told me someone would contact me within 24 hrs, which would mean by 10p next day. I had to shut off the main water pipe in my house. I had no water and labeled this an urgent matter. At 9a I called and no plumber was located to help. Rep said, "We will call you when a plumber is found." I still had no water!! Finally at around 1p another Rep said, "You can locate a plumber in the area as long as they follow the specific instructions." Why didn't someone tell me this at 9a? I did find a plumber and he came over shortly after I called. Once the plumber came he had to wait for about 20-30 minutes before someone would answer the phone. Mind you he had other calls to make. I was so frustrated at this point. Thank goodness for his patience. Why could you not find a plumber for me? Why did I have to do the searching? The saving grace in this situation is that his claim was accepted by you.

    I am not pleased at all with this experience. I was satisfied with the technician but I was informed that Choice Warranty would not fulfill the agreement to replace the water heater. My claim was presented to a case manager and I have not heard from anyone. The issue then, why do I need Choice Warranty if they cannot survey the customer in a satisfactory manner. Rates are paid every month, so I have upheld my part of the agreement. Then you need to uphold your part.

    The plumber solved my plumbing problems but the verification process was horrible, this was my first time using my service and because I thought that it was a leak and it was a clog drain the service technician said that he can only repair the leak.
