    The technician Corey from Easy electric was great. The coverage from Choice Home Warranty was not. What is the point of having a home warranty if simple things are not covered? Did not mean there are are loopholes that are not spelled out in original contract when you sign up for this plan. Very disappointing. Plan did not cover.     The service man was great. Came earlier than originally expected, made me so happy. He called first to see if him coming was doable for me. YES please come. He explains his plan and told me CHW wouldn't pay for opening drain which I didn't understand. My contact with you said I have the top of the line and would not be charged extra charges for service, which is why I chose the best service contract. But $150 non guaranteed service seemed out of line. After paying service fee $65 did not expect additional charges. The service person was very professional and wore his mask continuously, and took care of our horrific situation. Thank you. Still would like a better explanation for the additional fee. God bless.

    The water heater burst causing flooding on 12/8/2020. I immediately called CHW for emergency service but was told they did not provide emergency service and assigned Grayhawk Plumbing to come and assess the issue. I called Grayhawk after their notification this was who was assigned and was advised they did provide emergency service however CHW did not advise them. They send a tech out (Austin) that afternoon and he confirmed the heat cylinder had a crack which caused the burst and shut down the water and electricity to the unit as a new one would have to be ordered. He sent a notice to CHW to that effect but CHW refused to pay the claim saying the tech told told them it was caused by rust and corrosion.

    I had ask Austin when he came if that was the case and he said no, and the unit should be covered. CHW could not provide me with proof that Austin told them that. I took the matter up with Grayhawk and they sent another tech out which said there was no rust or corrosion causing the crack. In addition the owner of Grayhawk spoke to a case manager at CHW and told them again that the tech did not tell them it was rust and corrosion and confirmed that to me by email. The claim was filed with CHW on 12/8/2020 and I have been battling with them since then to pay the claim. They keep stalling and just assign the claim to different case managers and I even went through their appeal process and they just keep coming back and telling me they deny the claim as tech told them it was due to rust and corrosion. Pictures have been sent to them along with Mr. **'s email stating otherwise.

    On Feb. 8, I filed a formal complaint against CHW with the Arizona Attorney General's office along with all correspondence from CHW website and emails between us, pictures of the unit and email from Mr. **. This is the second claim they have denied. The first was a water line to a refrigerator and they couldn't get anyone to come out and told me to go ahead and get someone and they would reimburse me. I was able to get someone that evening and when I sent them the bill they advised they wouldn't pay for anyone that they didn't approve of and the work pre approved before it was done.

    It was late in the evening when I got someone to fix and I was never advised the work had to be pre-approved. They did not pay the claim. From what I read on Facebook on your website all the complaints there are against CHW. I am surprised that you continue to support CHW as an accredited company. I am happy to send you all the correspondence, pictures and emalls if you wish.

    The experience with Choice was horrible, the experience with the final vendor was fine. When I place an order for service, I expect someone at my home within 48 hours, not an appointment set for over a week out with a vendor who can't be found or verified. I shouldn't have to call in and raise a ruckus to get a qualified rep in a timely manner. Choice takes my money monthly and then fails when I need them. The second vendor you finally assigned was fine, but everything leading up was horrible.

    Very upset and disappointed what good is a home warranty, if you guys blow it off and say it's not covered for some technicality, the sewer comes in at the opposite end of the house which maybe 100' away and the blockage was immediately right at the toilet when the toilet was removed. It was between the toilet and the lead bend, therefore, I completely and totally believe this repair should be covered under the warranty. I'm out $310.00 that should have been paid for by choice home services. I would like to hear back from someone that will be able to resolve this issue!

    I was very disappointed with the results of my claim for a repair of my furnace. The furnace was at our property in eastern Wisconsin during very cold conditions. I placed the claim on 1/20/21 and as of 1/29/21 it had not been repaired. I had to hire my own contractor after two CHW contractors backed out on fixing the unit. Then when I tried to get reimbursed for my portion of the cost the company said the repair of a control valve was not even covered under my warranty. After such a debacle I figured the company would make it right and take care of us, since they dropped the ball on caring for us in a timely manner as promised in the warranty. Especially, since they did nothing to help me get the furnace fixed in this critical situation. Their cost to make it right would have been $100! I hope the next three years of the warranty contract go better than this.

    I have never experienced so much unprofessional service from technicians. The second technician came out on 2-2-21. Said he has to order the flame sensor. I never heard back from him. I called him on 2-4 which is M&P. He said there is a waiting list. I am #10. I took two days to send in diagnosis. I called back on 2-7. He said he has to pick-up the part on 2-8.. This is so unacceptable! My home is cold. I have. Teen daughter. I hate I selected Choice Home Warranty.

    This 2 star does not apply to the most recent experience. Overall it has been bad - techs who don't even come or call -those that did couldn't fix issue. The last tech from Blue Dragon was excellent. He was on time, called before arriving, polite, and he seemed to know the issue and correct it. We'll find out today when we turn the freezer back on. He said to call if the problem still exists.

    On November 17, 2020, I paid Jason ** $65 to fix my toilet, leaking tub pipes and my kitchen faucet. He fixed my kitchen faucet and said that he fixed my toilet and tub. My toilet and tub still were not working after he left and I tried many times to get him to come back out to complete the work. I finally Called Choice Home Warranty and rescheduled a different plumber who quickly surmised the problems and fixed them.     As I described over phone with my plumbing problem when the plumber came he saw it and let me know that Choice will not cover it and that cost $370 which will be billed later. Now my question is why they will charge me when the line is with the wall. I was not asking anything that is out of my house structure. By the way I fixed it and the plumber charged $70 for that. They tell me they are not the right plumbers to put the line in the hole that needs to be flush out because gas is leaking. I did an appeal and no one has called me yet. I just need the smell gone.     The tech they sent did the job he came to diagnose a problem with washer. As far as Choice is concerned I'm so unhappy with your services. You ask me to accept half the price of the washer. When I asked to speak to someone I had to wait almost 2 weeks to do so. So I finally hit the accept button and it says, "Thank you for accepting this cash payout in lieu of a replacement." I called choice and specifically asked for a replacement and was told they don't do that. I really think this is bologna. This is not the home service I was told I was getting.

    Tell me how 549 is enough for a Kenmore elite king size capacity front loader. It's not but I'll tell you if I just put the money into a savings that I pay choice monthly it would cover me, I put a claim in few months ago and after going a month without furnace it cost $900 to replace the blower motor plus 60 for diagnosis after both service people told me they had to order parts and it was covered. It was not and now I see what the scheme is.

    Updated on 02/09/2021: Choice Home Warranty is a scam and they need to pay a price for misrepresentation and Rip of people. I will not rest until until I am refunded the amount they stole from me $256.25. CHW responded to my prior review and would like me to respond in private. NO Way the only way to get something done right is on a public platform.

    Original Review: I cancelled my account in NOV I was month to month. Choice Home warranty ripped me off. I had called them to fix my furnace. After three service techs, $225.00 spent and multiple phone calls trying to fix my issue with no Progress I cancelled them. I called a HVAC repair company and within 5 hrs I was fixed. CHW is a rip off. They scam customers out of money. I am working with my bank to get my $256.00 back and will join the Class A lawsuit against them. RIP OFF. RIP OFF.

    Choice sent an appliance repairman to my home. He ended up "installing" a brand new dishwasher after going through reporting that the old one was so expensive to repair. He left the insulation that is supposed to be around the dishwasher on the back porch. He damaged my kitchen cabinets and the dishwasher and the wall of my kitchen. He left sharp metal sticking out on each side of the dishwasher. He left the toe kick on the dining table, he left a huge open gap at the top of the dishwasher, he left exposed wires....

    The repairman tells me "it is the perfect dishwasher install". Choice tells me that "we are not responsible". Choice also refuses to give me the repair company address or insurance information. But, they tell me I must take my own recourse against the repair company. That is not possible without a legal name and address! Do not buy a Choice plan.

    I just bought a house which was built in 2016, and the built-in GE 2.2 cu. ft. microwave burnt out after one week living there. I made a home warranty claim, and I got a response quickly. A visit from a technician was arranged quickly, and the technician was very nice and did a great job. My only complaint is that the visit from the technician cost a copay of $65, Choice only gave me $191 for the claim, and the new microwave including installation and removal of the old one cost me $710 for an equivalent microwave to the old one. So in the end, the replacement still cost me 710+65-191= $584.

    They do offer many different services for home warranty. When selecting additional items like the pool or septic their customer service employees do not explain what is required of you the customer. I have used them twice with very good service. I have called twice for my septic with little to no response. The last time the customer service employee told me I needed to read my warranty. When I signed up and selected the septic service I did not have my warranty to read. Should have been explained agent was more interested in sell me than providing customer service and explaining things to me.

    I’ve made claims for my home & they have been denied. Most recently my furnace went out & they denied my claim for the repairs! The only alternative they offered me was an appeal! I was 4 days without heat!! I had to contact a company myself & pay for a new unit. I will not recommend this warranty to anyone! Furthermore, I still haven’t received any info about my appeal. I called several times & the agent kept saying “I can’t reverse the determination of your claim”. Almost as if he was scripted. He didn’t hear anything I said. He kept repeating how much he sympathized with me (as he sits in a heated room) & saying I had to talk to the claim specialist handling my appeal. I've yet to hear from Choice! Awful service! A waste of money!!

    I was very please with the response time from Choice and my initial appointment. The technician came when he said he would, quickly diagnosed the problem. A part had to be ordered and he said he’d be back at the end of the week. When a week went by with no communication, I called the technician’s company and left messages asking for a return call and an update. When I still had no call back, I submitted the information to choice and asked them to follow up with the company for an update and projected return. Within a day the technician contacted us to say he’d be back the next day to finish the job. And he did!     My star rating indicates my dissatisfaction with what's covered on my Choice warranty and how it's presented. The contractor you sent was 5-star. It was my fault I didn't check my coverage before submitting a claim about my leaky water heater. It was the tank, and I had it in my mind it would be covered because we have the Total Plan. But the Total Plan doesn't cover anything different on water heaters than the Basic Plan. Why? Plus, you say "all components and parts." But that's not true. It seems like what you DON'T cover is more than you DO cover, which is not "all."

    At least in my case, that doesn't leave much to cover, or anything that would be reason to actually have a warranty. Of course, I ended up paying for the replacement myself (in addition to $85 I did not have to spend), and used the company you sent out, who were great. Yet I felt like I have many times before with Choice and other warranty companies: You pay for peace of mind, but what you get is a set of conditions and disclaimers that deliver anything but that, and stress on top of that. Every experience makes me believe less and less that this is worth it, when it should reassure me that having coverage is a good decision. I hope this makes some sort of difference, someday.
