    The technician was great... but Choice never approves my claims... We are always having to pay out of pocket for repairs, PLUS the $45 service fee and that is ridiculous to be told NO and then still have to pay the technician.. We are thinking to cancel our service.

    Request made on 02/22/2021 around 8:00 am for water heard spewing behind shower and rolling down neighbor’s driveway. On that same day at 12:00 noon, I got an email asking if I wanted to take advantage of a reimbursement claim option! Huh?!?! What?!?! Did you try to find someone?!?! I know that we had some unusually bad snow and ice conditions here, but I assumed you had companies that catered to request from your company! The water was running so much that I asked a neighbor if he could just turn the water meter off, and he did after several attempts! Otherwise, the water would still be running down the street because NO ONE, I mean NO ONE has come, NO ONE has called with an update on attempts or anything! The pipe still HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED!! I AM SOOOO DISAPPOINTED!!

    Had to make a claim for a hot water heater problem. I live in Houston, TX and initiated the claim during a critical time when we experienced severe cold weather plague. Most local plumbers were tied up repairing broken water pipes in homes, so knew I had to wait much longer for an authorized Technician to come to my home. Couldn't wait for a schedule call that would take over 1-week so I repaired the pilot light problem myself.

    I contacted Choice HW to explain and asked if they would consider giving me some form or reimbursement or credit for what transpired. Spoke to a very caring Response Coordinator who totally understood my dilemma and the logical recourse I took and agreed to offer a fair and equitable resolution that was welcomed! Wish I had asked for the coordinator's name, but I hope she can be reached and commended for the resolution provided to me. This entire event has inspired my feeling about the Choice Home Program and affirms my reasons for keeping this program.

    Not a bad experience. The representative on the phone answered all my questions. I have had an AHS policy for over 10 years on the house and the rates go up EVERY year. Last year I told AHS if the price goes up again I would find another provider. AHS raised the price and as promised I found another provider for Home warranty. Of course AHS was going to lower the price $30 a month but I told them it was too late.

    It took 12 days from the time we filed the claim, until a service man did the repairs. The 1st scheduled repair date was rescheduled because of bad weather, however they were a no show for the next rescheduled date. They did not call or text with an explanation. We finally got a new company to make the repair the next day, but we were 12 days without heat downstairs on the coldest winter in Texas history.

    Not happy with the denial of claim. The technician said the unit needed to be replaced due to normal wear and tear. Less than a year ago the technician replaced one part on the heater and said the rest was fine. If I needed to do something else to maintain it he should have told me that then.     Very disappointed in the decision by Choice Home Warranty. Our AC is 17 years old. A coil has a hole in it and leaked out all of the Freon. The coil replacement was denied due to the fact it was rusty and corroded. AC units contain humidity, ours has 17 years worth. I will not renew my membership or recommend CHW to anyone. Our children just bought homes and I suggested they get CHW.... I have since rescinded that suggestion.

    My service fee when I started the plan in 2016 was $45.00. Now it went up without me knowing I had to pay a $75.00 service fee instead of the $45.00 I signed up for. When I called and questioned the increase they had no reason why it was done and agreed to lower it back to $45.00.     During the coldest week in Texas history the third rotating black out also took out our furnace. Extremely cold we called Choice and they sent a young man named Chow, who came out the next day instead of waiting two days like he could have. He quickly assessed the problem and tried to get the part the same day only the store was closed due to the extreme cold weather power outages.     I have had to use them 3 times now, and each time they did nothing, the air con/heat pump they refused to replace the by-pass valve, the hot water heater they wouldn't replace, and now the dishwasher they won't fix or replace. They are worthless.

    CHW sent a low end repair service to check out a bearing failure noise in our LG front loader washing machine. The technician did admit he had little experience on LG machines. His report to CHW stated in his opinion, the failure was caused by OVERLOADING and ABUSE. Also he claimed the repair was extensive and complex. When in FACT we NEVER OVERLOAD or ABUSE the machine. CLAIM DENIED BY CHW due to some fine print on ABUSE. END RESULT.... We purchase a NEW LG front loader machine. Interestingly a SKILLED LG repair technician installing the new machine informed me of 2 important FACTS.

    1) The bearing failure is normally caused by AGE not overloading or ABUSE.

    2) The fix could be done in less than 2 hours using approx. $160 in parts.

    I had to pay for the CHW service call and also for the price of a NEW WASHER $$$$. In my opinion CHW does not use quality repair facilities, probably saving money for CHW and also using such repair agents to check BOX as to facilitate claim denial. When choosing home warranty companies my advice is BUYER BEWARE of CHW.

    My experience with Choice Home Warranty has not been positive. When our range control panel stopped working, we made a claim and received our technician assignment in a timely manner. The technician came to our house, found the issue, searched for the part, and found it is no longer available. We were then informed that Choice Home Warranty would be contacting us after that. When contacted, we were offered $450. We then sent in more photos explaining all of the options the range had so they could get a better comparable to get a more accurate offer. We were sure to mention multiple times that this is a slide in range, not a regular free standing range.

    After receiving a second offer of $595 we asked to speak to another representative. We were then informed we would have to set up an appointment for that, which we did. The representative did NOT call at the scheduled time and we were required to wait another week for the next appointment. When they called for the second scheduled appointment, their final offer was $595 which would have been close to replacement cost of a traditional, freestanding range, with comparable options; however, this amount isn’t even half of the expense of purchasing a slide in range.

    When they said their research had comparable ranges, at their cost, at an average of $595. I asked them to please send me proof that they could obtain a comparable range, at their cost, for $595. Choice Home Warranty refused to do this. I then asked if they would purchase the comparable range and have it sent to me instead. They simply said they were allowed to, per the contract, offer cash payment in-lieu of the replacement appliance. I said I understood that but wanted proof of their cost. They never could provide the proof. We were told we either needed to accept the $595 or the claim would be closed. We accepted the offer because it was better than nothing, but we still had to pay an additional $770 over their offer to purchase a comparable stove. Very misleading as far as what they cover!

    I opened a ticket because my dishwasher was making a loud squealing sound when running. The tech came out, agreed with me it was a loud noise, informed CHW that I needed a new circulation pump, and I learned today I was denied because the dishwasher "works". Basically it needs to be dead before it gets repaired.

    Would you accept a car warranty that repairs nothing until it is broken? Say an engine bearing started making a lot of noise (same thing on the circulation pump motor on my dishwasher) and the warranty people said the engine has to quit running completely before they'll fix it?     18 minutes before the end of the 4-hour wait window, my first appointment was auto-canceled by the service provider and rescheduled for 2 weeks later. They canceled via email and text, which I don't frequently follow while at work, even though they have my phone number and could have called if customer service was a priority.     I was very disappointed to see that you have denied both claims for my appliances. I paid $65 twice ($130) for the service call, despite actually being 1 visit from the same warranty person, just to have both claims denied for being NOT the result of "normal wear and tear." We have done nothing out of the ordinary to the appliances, and they are high end Jenn-Air, so the issues ARE actually a result of normal wear and tear. Why buy a warranty if you charge so much for the service call just to deny the claim? Disappointing!

    This was our FOURTH call on the air conditioner blower.     I strongly disagree with and am so disappointed with the amount of money given to me to replace my broken refrigerator. I believe paying your customers (in this case me), the bottom line amount given was grossly inadequate. In keeping with the current prices of appliances today what CHW paid out to me was totally unfair. I expected to have some out-of-pockets expenses to pay, but what CHW paid me back left me paying out way more than I anticipated. Your agent wouldn’t even agree to an $6 additional amount to at least round off the amount paid back to me. I expected more from CHW, and this experience has left me with a sour taste in my mouth regarding CHW. What in the world happened to good customer service with you all?

    Very disappointed in their buyout program when an appliance cannot be repaired. For an 18” dishwasher the offer was $246 the replacement, a far inferior model to broken one cost over $800 installed. When I tried to appeal the payout they scheduled an appointment to talk to someone (which took another week) just to be told “that’s the policy” which slowed down the process. I feel that if you have older appliances no matter how high quality they are, the money spent with this company isn’t worth it.

    I am not very happy with the experience. Texas has been dealing with a bad weather experience. Temperatures dropped fast and my furnace was not heating. I called you and you were able to send a contractor to check the unit. He found that the control board was damaged and reported to Choice which turned around a denial because it was assumed that the board was damaged by the power roll outs but actually the unit was not heating previous to the loss of power. I would like for you to reconsider the issue and approve the claim. By the way the contractor was very professional and is doing anything he can to solve the problem. The board has been ordered and I have asked him to repair the unit as soon as he gets the board. Please let me know your consideration of my claim. Blas **.

    After paying the fee, he was unable to free a blockage using a new double blade on the snake. I then learned he was not permitted to use a camera to visualize the blockage as CHW refuses to pay for it. So after waiting 3 days for service, we are still unsure of cause of blockage and have to hire our own tech to try to free the blockage.
