    Both our experiences with Choice home warranty have been terrible. In both cases we spent the deductible and both the “plumber” and ‘electrician” arrived without tools or a clue what to do. They did NOTHING in both cases. The plumber flushed the toilet and said everything was fine and left. The electrician said it wasn’t covered under warranty but he could do it for 250 if I paid up front. Of course he had no tools. He wanted it all up front and I said no way I’d give him 100 for parts. That money is in the wind. He’s rescheduled for parts out of stock, church commitments, too busy blah blah blah. Basically a giant scammer. What really infuriated me was that I found several references online where people had already complained to Choice about him!! How could they keep referring him??? Time to call a lawyer and I can’t wait for Monday morning.

    I was contacted by my assigned case manager regarding the replacement of a washing machine. The individual was a terrible representative for your company. (Yuselin **). I asked to escalate the call to a supervisor and she did not call me back or even send an email to let me know the status of my request... 12 days later after I finally went online to state my dissatisfaction I received a call from someone who took care of the same issue in less than 10 minutes.     An 18 year old water heater, several years past the life expectancy of any water heater and all that was offered was to replace some parts instead of full replacement. Very disappointed.     Since I first subscribed to Choice Warranty, I have needed to use them 3 times: The 1st time - washer drum noise. technician identified worn out drum springs/dampers. He ordered them and installed - fixed! The 2nd time - AC duct leaks - the first time the company sent out a techician, they wanted to sell me a whole new duct system. But after explaining to Choice that I just wanted the more recent leaks in the existing ductwork, sealed, the same company sent another technician who claimed to seal all the ducts with mastic. Showed me pictures of ducts but never tested my ductwork for leaks after work. I'll just have to wait and see if my garage and attic get hot or cold depending on which mode I select to use on the AC. Jury is still out on this.

    The 3rd time - I lost an electric circuit to my garage workbench, even though the breaker I thought fed that circuit wasn't blown. The electrician, searched my sockets and found a defective socket outside by the AC compressor. I would never have guessed that the two were interconnected. Bravo Daryl! Fixed - very happy.

    Not happy that Choice would not cover our pipes leaking because of our TX deep freeze because we did everything to cover pipes, etc to protect them from the cold, but this weather was too much after electricity loss for days to not being able to run pool.     I submitted a claim regarding my microwave, it took 2 weeks for Choice to find a technician to even come out to my home. After countless of calls to customer service they told me that things would be escalated but when I talk to a manager nothing was escalated. After getting an appointment with the technician it took another week for the technician to come out. After paying the service fee of $75 I was told that the unit needed to be replaced. Choice gave me an offer that was not even close to what a unit would cost me to replace it. So now I’m out of the $75 service fee AND I have to add money to the offered amount. What’s the point of paying for a warranty when I get horrible service AND I have to pay more money to replace my unit?!

    The technician was great in every way. It is pretty sad though that the hot water tank is not covered. The home warranty is supposed to protect you against failures in your home and when the coverage only covers part of a heating system it is basically a useless coverage.     This is the worst warranty company I have ever dealt with. They use horrible people to service the claim. Have only made 3 claims and two of them never even showed up for appt and never called. Had to reschedule both. Then when they couldn't find a part said they were replacing item. $248 for a $1,000 machine. Will not use them again. The only good thing the second one they sent out, fixed my problem. He also was the one who did my initial claim for another toilet.

    I've been with Choice home warranty for over 2 yrs now before I had Home shield. It came with my house when we bought it. I would never recommend that company to anyone. It was a joke. I had A $75.00 pay out. First thing that went out 15 days after we bought the house was the ac system. They sent out a technician in his 70s. He said the system was low on r11. I've work on car ac systems for a while now and I asked if he was going to do a leak test. His response was, "No. They lose Freon." Well not if there's no leak they don't. He charged me $110.00 to fill it. It lasted a week. Another call to them they sent out a different technician. He tested it and said my a-coil was bad and I'd have to pay $1500.00. Well they bought out my ac for $800. Had it fixed for $200. All it was is they didn't seal the lock outs.

    Choice has never given me a problem on repairs. They even let me use my own service people if they can't get one out and reimbursed me for it. I'll stay with choice. I've only used them for a couple plumbing problems and electrical plugs and a couple ceiling fans but no problem. I carry the Platinum plan. I'd tell every one to get it. My electric box rusted out and it wasn't covered but they gave me some money on it to help cover the cost of replacement. If you take pics and show them what is really wrong they will work with you. I'm very pleased with this company. I'll be a life long customer. They're not like a lot of these rip you off places. They stand behind what they say and guarantee you get the best. I'm old school. If I find a technician I like I stick with them. So far I have a ac and heat, electrical and plumbing. Next to find is a good appliance technician. You get your money's worth with choice home warranty.

    I’ve been receiving renewal calls and emails since the end of November, but Adrian Saunders was the one who contacted me the most.     For over TWO months we have been trying to repair or replace our broken dishwasher. Choice has done a very poor job overall, sending out two different repair services, and accomplishing nothing. The latest insult was to offer $400 to replace a unit which sells for around $1,000. Choice has wasted funds replacing parts, and getting second opinions, rather than making a reasonable offer. If this is not resolved favorably in the next few days, I am considering cancelling my SIX year contract with Choice.

    CHW once again has terminology in what it covers and this time it does NOT cover tankless water heaters. And this is much like it didn't cover dampers in a multi-zone HVAC system that came with the house citing it was not "factory installed". Plus the "dripping water" interpretation failed to repair a refrigerator evaporator. So poor interpretation or rather such being one-sided as to the real problem and various exclusions means I did NOT received coverage for usual household items. I paid for these repairs myself.

    I live in Texas and my HVAC system stopped working properly. It happened right at the onset of bad, cold, and snowy weather (in Texas, right?). Anyway, I put in the work request on a Sunday evening using my online access.     I will start by saying you better make sure you go through all your appliances before signing up with this company or any of them for that matter. I just signed up with Choice a few weeks ago and by bad luck my hot water Heater stopped working properly. After taking down part of the wall we found it had a leak. Well they were quick to deny the claim and won't even try to work with me on it. Like I was supposed to know the hot water heater had issues? I may have if I didn't have to takedown part of the wall. So you better hope you don't have a claim soon after you sign up because they get out of it!! I had existing coverage so why would I put myself in this situation if I knew the unit was leaking. You are just a number to these companies nothing more.

    I had one HVAC guy come out the 1st time was with your warranty. The 2nd time I paid on my own but he didn't fix the problem. Then I had another HVAC guy come. He was to come the next day but didn't show up. When he finally came he temporarily fix the problem but had to order a part which has not arrived yet.     Choice has the worst policy guideline. I own a policy on a tenant occupied property. I was denied for a broken water heater due to normal wear and tear. When I called back to request to speak to a supervisor or a case manager to further escalate the claim, they told me I need to appeal the case and waited for an email. The earliest appointment to speak to a case manager is on 3/1 which is 5 days away. I explained to 3 claim adjusters that this is the policy for tenant occupied property and one of the tenants has medical condition. I didn’t get anyone who was willing to escalate the case for immediate assistance. This is my fourth year with Choice. I am very disappointed on how my claim was handled. My experience with Choice is horrible. I would not even rate this company with one star.

    A gentleman from UB plumbing came and fixed my repair. He looked through the basement ceiling where the hole was and then went upstairs into my powder room where he discovered that my toilet needed to get a new wax ring. He replace the wax ring cleaned up everything after himself, however he’s a plumber and he doesn’t fall with the drywall on the ceiling downstairs. Now I’ll have to hire someone else to repair that.     Do not believe anything the salesman tells you. They are full of **. There is a loophole in every warranty. "At their discretion", "they have the right to" those are the ways they get out of being upfront, fair and honest. They WILL NOT replace an item that is totaled with a comparable model currently available. Our washer broke and it was a 12 cycle, NO AGITATOR, stainless steel wash basket, 3.6 cubic feet and they TRIED to offer us $343 to replace it. What a joke!

    Their customer service managers are rude, condescending and all they do is read their canned statement over and over again, it took 10 days to resolve my broken washer issue and 8 hours of phone time, until I FINALLY got someone on the phone who agreed to $500. This replacement washer was $610 which is the amount I should have gotten, plus delivery/install and take away our old one was another $50. They will gladly take your money, but when something is broke beyond repair, you literally have to beg, do your homework and have facts. They have ZERO customer service and no appeal process whatsoever. RUN AWAY from Choice, do not know how they stay in business.

    Had to make a claim for a hot water heater problem. I live in Houston, TX and initiated the claim during a critical time when we experienced severe cold weather plague.     Very disappointed in the decision by Choice Home Warranty. Our AC is 17 years old. A coil has a hole in it and leaked out all of the Freon. The coil replacement was denied due to the fact it was rusty and corroded. AC units contain humidity, ours has 17 years worth. I will not renew my membership or recommend CHW to anyone. Our children just bought homes and I suggested they get CHW.... I have since rescinded that suggestion.
