    These people came 3 weeks ago to fix a leak on the outside air unit. Said they were coming back on 48 hours. We are haven't heard anything. When you call they give you the run around. Still as of now no air. We had to purchase a portable air conditioner in 4 bed rooms. Still hadn't heard from those idiots.

    Please do not waste your money with a Choice warranty contract. I purchased CHW and the first problem I had was trouble with my AC unit. They came out at $75.00 charge to tell me, "Sorry your AC is not working and we do not cover it." When I purchased their policy one of the selling points was my AC would be covered. I am disappointed and without a working AC although I was vigilant enough to buy a warranty plan.

    I called in the claim to Choice Warranty on 8/15/25, Choice Warranty never sent out any Technician period. On 9/16 I called Patriot Appliance and requested him to come out and he showed up on 9/17. Choice Warranty denied the replacement of a part that was broken by ice that jammed up in the dispending chute. The air leaking in through the dispending chute caused ice to freeze up in the ice maker and caused it to fail which would not have happened if Choice Warranty had sent someone out on the claim in a reasonable manner.

    Rick did a thorough analysis of our A/C system and determined that the Freon in our system was nearly gone. He was able to get it back up and running with stop leak and a filling with Freon. He explained that our system must have a large leak to lose that much Freon over a 6-8 week period from our last repair. He also explained that it may become necessary to replace some components because of the leak. He was very personable and took time to explain our options moving forward twice so that we understood what the warranty covers should a future repair or replacement be necessary.     I'm not happy with Choice Home Warranty because of their turnaround time for an appointment. It takes three appointments before somebody ends up coming out here because they use an automated system. I had to call the plumber to get out here today. They said the appointment wasn't carved in stone because it was an automation. I can't deal with that. God forbid, if an emergency happened and I needed somebody else same day, they're not gonna be able to help me at all. I don't like their appointment system at all. It takes three of them before I can even get somebody out. It took me over a month to get my washing machine dilemma resolved, and then it took another 30 days to get a Lowe's gift card. It's ridiculous.

    The good part is that they were kind enough to send me a gift card for the microwave that was taken apart and fixed. They still sent me money. So, that helped me with the washing machine and I only had to put about 115 bucks towards the washer. Or was it 100? 115. Getting that extra gift card for the washer helped us out a lot. I love that part of them. That was very nice and I will put a good thing in there about that.

    It's just the appointment system is not working for us. We're seniors. We're needy. We had a flood one time in here. They sent somebody the same day from across the street. They came and fixed the hot water heater rather than replace it because they said it was fixable. They didn't have to replace it yet. One day, I'm going to. If that thing bust, Choice isn't gonna be here for me. There's no way with the way they do things.

    The technician and Tim Ferguson plumbing and hvac company were top notch. 24 hour diagnosis, decided unit needed replaced and had it installed the next day. I don't agree with the amount choice warranty reimbursed me. CHW only reimbursed for a compensator to be replaced and the whole unit needed to be replaced due to freon regulations and age of the unit. Even though the technician documented this in the report submitted the case manager decided to only pay $1878, when the replacement was over 11k.

    If you're considering Choice Home Warranty, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. My experience with this company has been nothing short of frustrating and costly, and their business practices are deeply unethical.

    - No Sense of Urgency for Emergencies

    When I reported an urgent issue—a water leak and a non-functioning HVAC system—it took them four full days to locate a technician. By the time they finally found someone, I had already resolved the issue myself to prevent further damage. Despite the urgency and necessity of the repair, they refused to reimburse me simply because the work wasn’t pre-approved. Their policy makes no room for emergencies. If you’re hoping for prompt service in a crisis, you won’t get it here.

    - Denial of Legitimate Claims

    Later, I submitted a claim to repair my HVAC unit after discovering a leak in the evaporator coil. They denied the entire claim on the grounds that the unit was still under manufacturer warranty—even though the warranty only covered parts, not labor or refrigerant. Choice Home Warranty’s stance is that any appliance under manufacturer warranty is automatically excluded from coverage, regardless of what portion is actually covered. This blanket policy is misleading and unfair.

    - Out-of-Pocket Costs Despite Coverage

    Because of their refusal to honor the claim, I had to pay $3,000 out of pocket for repairs. This is a harsh reality for many new homeowners, as most appliances—especially HVAC systems—come with long-term manufacturer warranties on major components. Under Choice’s policy, this means your appliances are essentially not covered until those warranties expire, making their service virtually useless unless you own an older home with out-of-warranty systems.

    - Final Verdict

    Choice Home Warranty is not a safety net—it’s a trap. Their delays, denials, and deceptive policies left me with a hefty bill and no support when I needed it most. Save yourself the headache and money. Choose a provider that actually delivers on its promises.

    Stay away from Choice Home Warranty at any cost! Deceptive business! We raised a HVAC claim on Day-1. Choice HW sent a vendor technician on Day-5, and took pictures. They uploaded pictures and report to Choice on Day-7. Choice reviewed and asked for more pictures on Day -9, vendor revisited and shared to them on Day-11. Choice approved it on Day-15 with my out of pocket expenses for $4500. Once paid, they will take 1 week to ship the parts and install. So for a HVAV repair they take 3-4 weeks, which is totally unacceptable. They are in a deceptive business and I have to call almost every day and beg them to expedite the claim. They do not have any sense of urgency for a HVAC system or if anyone can be livable. All they want to delay, delay and get the cheapest option. I got scammed. I asked for a second opinion and get it repaired for less than $2000. STAY AWAY!!! Stay away from Choice Home Warranty at any cost!

    Almost worthless plans. $500 cap on all appliances, $3,000 cap on A/C. Example, $2500 refrigerator 1 year old (outside of manufacturers warranty) goes bad, repair part unobtainable, you only get $500 in compensation. Other companies offer $2,000 - $4,000 caps on appliances. My experience, repair person can't find problem, replaces several components, cost for components is $500, I get nothing.

    I've been with Choice Home Warranty for so long. I was with another company. I have health issues. When the air conditioner went out, the other place couldn't find a repairman, and it was almost 100 degrees. I had to search and find someone else. So, when I found somebody, and I reported that I found somebody, they wouldn't cover it. Even though they couldn't find, they wouldn't cover it. I switched to Choice Home Warranty then. The service has been good. I have no complaints, except when my air conditioner went out and because of their policy, I had to pay about $1600 towards getting it repaired. They paid the balance, which was about half. I had to pay an amount and I wasn't expecting to do that.

    This year, the dishwasher went out. The door fell off, and it was leaking a little bit. Choice said they wouldn't cover the dishwasher because they said in my contract, there are certain things that my plan doesn't cover. I figured since it was so old that they would cover it. They didn't. I called in and I disputed a claim. I talked to a claim dispute representative. She gave me the reason why it was not covered. It old her I've been with them for so long. She went and talked to somebody and said they could give me $200 towards the dishwasher. So, I was satisfied with that. I thanked them. I appreciated that. They didn't have to do it, but they did it.

    My refrigerator went out. Now, that was old, too. The repairman came out to look at it, and said they don't make the needed parts anymore, so there's nothing to cover because they can't replace those. Also, the door was cracked inside, and sometimes it would pop open because the door was cracked. We had duct tape on it to keep from popping open. So, I called in. They said that wasn't covered either because the door wasn't covered, and the bins weren't covered. I thought I'd try to ask if they would do anything towards getting a refrigerator. They said, "No, it's not covered," and that was it.

    I had to get a new refrigerator now, and I got a new dishwasher. The problem that I had with them was that in my claim, it said "Approved." Then, when I talked to somebody, they said it was like a canned application. So, they just stick it in there and it said "Approved," even though they said they hadn't heard back from the technician yet. That was a problem because somebody could look at their records and say it was approved when it wasn't. As far as customer service, the lady listened to me and understood where I was coming from, and she went and checked to see if they could do something for me. The second time, they wouldn't do anything for me at all. So, I don't think they were customer service-oriented.

    If there was some way to give this company a negative star, I would surely do it! They are the most dishonest company I’ve ever had to deal with, I’ve had them over the past year, they deny claims left and right! Recently had a Sears/Kenmore refrigerator stop working, we are on week three now trying to get it repaired because they sent out an appliance repair company that was not authorized to work on Sears appliances, therefore they were not able to order a part for my refrigerator That come to find out was still under manufacturer's warranty.

    I had to end up calling Sears out, costing us another trip charge, just to be told the appliance company Choice Home Warranty sent out voided our manufacturer's warranty because he stuck a test valve in the compressor, when speaking to a case manager through Choice Home Warranty she advised us to go ahead and have Sears do the repairs and that they would pay for the full labor, rather than just 150 originally approved, this is exactly what we did, submitted my invoice as I was told to do and today I was informed that they would only pay us the $150 rather than the 500 that was charged by Sears for the labor. They lie, and don’t seem to really care! You are better off taking that monthly payment putting it into a savings account for that rainy day!! These people are the absolute worst to work with!!!

Unfortunately for me, when my refrigerator starting freezing my food and making a loud buzzing sound I had to put in two separate claims in the course of 6 months and pay the $75 fee each time only for my claim to be denied for reasons that were never sent to me the first time around; hence I had to request a second claim later. I could have used the $150 invested in visits towards my new refrigerator. I am not happy with my first experience with them and will be looking for a different company to work with.     Regarding my Florida contract, I am very unhappy with Choice Home Warranty. I have Air Conditioning coverage paid in full. The first time my AC went out, Choice decided not to cover it and told me to get in touch with the manufacturer. My old company got in touch with the manufacturer when there was a problem and they paid for the repairs. Choice cost me $65.00 to have someone come to the house and not do a darn thing. When I called the manufacturer I was told that Choice had to call them. Choice said they were wrong and I had to call. P.S. I hired a private contractor and got the job done. In the meantime my house in Florida was without AC for weeks until this got settled by just not using my contract.

    If I could leave 0 stars, I would. I submitted a claim 6 weeks ago for a failed system. We are currently on contractor #4, because each time a contractor tells them it needs replaced, they unassign them from the claim. So far 3 contractors have told them our system needs replaced, but they refuse hold up their end of the contract. They recently told me that anything submitted by previous contractors doesn't matter to them and they won't use the diagnosis. On top of this, they had a contractor come out last summer to replace my furnace and it was installed incorrectly and now has a lot of issues (and it's only 1 year old!).

    I'm still pissed with Choice Home Warranty. I don't know if I'm gonna keep them or not. They don't fix the stuff when it breaks. They run scams. When breakdowns come, it's like insurance--they are gonna screw me, but I gotta have it because I don't know if something will go wrong. And I might have the right person who treats fairly. I like Choice because they fixed the refrigerator's ice maker. I didn't know the ice maker thing had went out, but it wouldn't put out ice. The guy came and looked at it. He ordered the part and came back in two weeks. He put the part in, boom. Choice is the real deal. They fixed my refrigerator good. That same tech looked at my dishwasher and told me he will order a part. He took a picture of the serial plate where it had a model number. He said he got everything he needed. He already ordered the parts and he's waiting for the parts to come. He didn't get back with me. So, I called Choice to check.

    Every time I get ready to call Choice, I can never talk to nobody. The message says, "Put your phone number and we'll get back with you in 24 hours." I did that several times but I didn't get a phone call back. I called again. I had to act like a new customer. I said, "Sir, I'm just trying to talk to someone, talk to a human being instead of the app service about my claim," or they will throw me over to this recording. One guy came on up. He asked what I wanted to do. I said I needed to get my dishwasher fixed. He hooked me up to the recording that took the claim. Why couldn't they do that the first time?

    The man said my dishwasher door's hinge bent. My grandson stumbled on it. I was washing dishes. He came in, tripped over something, and hit the dishwasher. It was an accident. However, the policy doesn't cover that. Choice said they won't cover if it's not for wear and tear. I wanted to find out how much it was to fix a door. I called the guy Choice sent out here to do it. He said Choice won't cover it because the manufacturer doesn't make hinges for doors. So, Choice has to buy a whole new dishwasher, but they don't want to do that. They said it doesn't fall into the category. If I had an accident myself, I won't get it fixed? Some oil wouldn't go down or the unit stopped working. Choice said they will cover if I had accident.

    I've been dealing with this with them for three months or longer. They accept my payments every month. There's no problem about that. If I don't send a payment in, they will call be and talk about why they haven't been receiving a payment. They will terminate my contract or they wanna know what's going on. I'm gonna talk to somebody because they will want to know about that money. But they don't give a damn about the customer. I can't get my dishwasher fixed. I got to try to look somebody else to fix it or see how I'm gonna schedule my budget around buying another one. I pay $42 a month for the service and couldn't get it because it's not wear and tear like they told me. Everything breaks ain't normal use.

    When I went online to file a claim. At the end of it, it told me, "Put in for the service fee, $85." I put my card in, Choice took the $85. But when the guy came, he asked, "You got $85?" I said, "I paid when I put the claim in." He said, "No. I don't know what that is. You got to have me $85." He told me just like that or he will walk out the door. So, I said, "Okay bro," Because I wanted to get my dishwasher fixed. I said, "Okay. No problem. I got $85. Go look at my thing and tell me what's going on with it." He fixed it. Choice owes me $85 but they aren't trying to return my money. I got it on my credit card. They don't even talk about, "What? No. We didn't get that." Yes, I did receive that payment online. Whatever online you connected with Choice, you need to look into that to stop that because they've been robbing people for 85.

    I did my research on Google to find out what other new or better home warranty programs I could get, and Choice popped up as one of the top 10 choices. When I called them, they gave me a wonderful deal for being a retired military person, and if I paid two years in advance, they added another two years to it. In the couple of years that I’ve been using Choice, I call them 90% of the time to place a claim and the customer service rep has been very good. Most of the time, AI answers the phone. They’re not very smart. But if it's simple enough, you can file a claim with AI or I can say I want a representative. Choice has never failed me.

    I have attempted to contact Choice Warranty through the phone numbers offered on the website four times and have been disconnected by a person each time. I also sent a message through the website hours ago and have had no response. My address on the contract is incorrect. Also, the salesperson, Augustine told me nothing would be withdrawn from my account until November, but as soon as I hung up I checked my account and found a withdrawal had been made immediately.     The overall process was easily done. This was our first time needing to make a claim and we were hesitant because it involved our HVAC system and we knew it could potentially be very expensive. It turned out to be a relatively simple fix. Our only concern was when we received an e-mail detailing the conditions under which we could choose our technician.

    Requiring a service provider to meet all of your company's requirements for reimbursement was so daunting that we simply decided to try your technician rather than the people we have been using for the last 20 years.     I waited 5 days for a technician to come and then after paying the $100 fee, and hearing the motor and gear shaft were likely shot, I received an email saying, "We’ve determined it's best to replace your washer." They were offering a Lowe’s e-gift card which would not cover a machine of equal value. Then the GIANT WHAMMY, after accepting the offer. "You’ll receive this within 30 DAYS"😳‼️ Seriously? An e-gift card requires a month long wait? And it is only for Lowe’s, so I can’t find a better deal elsewhere. So I could have no functioning washer for a month and a half.

    I have had an appliance go bad with another warranty company, and received the monetary reimbursement immediately. “Choice” what a laugh. To top it off I get texts, calls, and emails every day from salespeople wanting me to renew. **update after speaking with a representative I was told it always takes 30 days. 10 to process a gift card and 20 to send me an email. Waiting on an email with a Case Mgr I can call. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.

They are in the money grab business and will bill you monthly for their warranty but when it is time for you to their service by filing a claim, they will come up with an excuse to deny your claim. When you contact them about the denial, they just say they are sorry and understand your frustration without ever answering your question on how they came to the decision to deny the claim. The got my monthly payment for service along with the co-payment due for a service visit and in less than 24 hours denied the claim.

    I filed a plumbing claim on 8/15/2025. Choice assigned a vendor who came to my home on 8/19/2025. The tech ordered parts. Vendor was a no show for 3 appointments. It is also difficult to reach vendor on the phone. Vendor does not have a website. As of 9/17/2025 vendor has not returned to complete repairs. Have been unable to reach Choice on the phone. Outgoing message states that you must leave your number in order to receive a return call or your will be disconnected, only no one ever calls me back. All communications have been removed from website and am unable to send any more messages.

The technicians have come more than 10 times and cannot fix it. Then, they tell choice warranty that my repair is completed.     Tech checked the A/C and concluded that the coil was bad. He then serviced the system with coolant and said he would inform CHW of the situation. The following day, after attempts to contact CHW through their chat, which I consistently got a Network error message, I called CHW, and they informed me that the tech's corrective action was to flush the drain line. There is a disconnect that I experience every time I deal with CHW. Either a system or a component is not covered or they are in direct conflict with my regular maintenance agreement. Meanwhile, we have to experience 85+ degrees in my home. I've had enough of CHW and its inconsistency. Your prices continue to increase but your quality assurance is in the $%^&*@# toilet.

    I was very clear with Choice Warranty in advance. Before I signed up, that I had all high-end appliances that were built in with custom cabinets. My ice maker went out in my freezer, Choice does not want to repair it. I was offered a low amount on a gift certificate at Lowe's (Lowe's/Home Depot do not offer the appliance I have). I was told to find comparable parts. (I have a Miele Freezer, there is no aftermarket parts that match.) My refrigerator and freezer are stand-up bolted together, I was told to purchase some other Freezer? There are absolutely no matching freezers to my refrigerator UNLESS I buy the same type of freezer I currently have.

    It is very obvious to me that Profit is put before customer... I have 2 estimates to repair my freezer, both are substantially higher than what I'm being offered for a replacement, to replace the freezer I have, the amount I'm being offered doesn't even cover the down payment on a new freezer.     I am very unhappy with the experience I had with my washer. I filed a claim on the 22nd of August and never heard a word from CHW. I called every week asking when they would send someone out to look at my washer. Finally I gave up on the 15th of September. I found someone to come out and look at my washer that very day. I had to pay them $129 just to look at it. My contract deductible is only $85. I turned in their diagnoses that afternoon. CHW decided to just replace my washer but only gave me a $406 e-card for Lowe's to do it with. My washer was a high end washer. Lowe's cheapest mid level washer was over $600. All this makes me wonder if this company is worth having as my home warranty company.

    What is the problem with this company. I have a pool pump that has been out going on three weeks. "This is a simple issue." So far I have had two no show techs in which I lost two days of wages waiting, and the third tech assigned runs his business out of his apartment, does not work on pool pumps, and did not have a working ph. number. All three techs assigned so far were located almost two hours from me. Not sure what the problem is finding a quality tech, and why this company is worth the money I have paid for the terrible service.     Our wall oven gave an error code and we submitted a claim. Even though it took 11 days to get a technician to come out, he was excellent! Huge thank you to Bryton with Guinco (Dallas) for his service! However, we were notified the following day that we would receive a Lowe’s e-gift card to cover the current value of our oven, which was not going to cover the cost of a new oven. It is what we expected, but what we didn’t expect is that it would take 30 days for us to receive it! Calling it a scam would be an understatement - it should be thoroughly investigated and banned. They claim to offer "24/7 service," but it took nine full days before a single technician was even assigned to my case (still not assigned).

    ## Delayed and Denied Claims. One of my claims dragged on for two months, only for them to eventually close it, stating that their technician couldn't repair the issue. They then opened a new claim, but, predictably, nothing happened. In sheer frustration, I had to hire a local handyman who fixed the problem in a single day. When I submitted the bill for reimbursement, the company flat-out denied it (it was peak of summer and air conditioner was broken for 2 months).

    Choice could not find someone to repair my HVAC and said I could call my own service. It was 100° here and deadly hot. Level 9 HVAC diagnosed the problem and said it can’t be fixed and it needed replacement and has a unit ready to install. My Choice claims rep said they recommended injecting a sealant and dye. Level 9 wouldn’t do it because it had already been injected two years ago and doing it a 2nd time would destroy components. We sent a picture of the tag showing it was injected already. Also the injection will not plug the large leak. Choice said do it anyway because they had no record of it.

    Level 9 injected and it leaked out 2 days later. My family and I had headaches probably from the Coolant. It was 100° and Choice did not care. They wanted to send another technician out, from a different company to evaluate. They said I couldn’t use Level 9 because you can’t use the same vendor more than once. What kind of sense does this make? I cancelled the other vendor and just paid for a new unit myself with Level 9.

    I am a new Choice Home Warranty customer. This was my first claim and my first experience with Choice. The process of submitting a claim was easy and the technician that arrived was great. HOWEVER, after the garbage disposal was repaired/replaced, the $100 fee was paid and the technician had already left, he returned saying that Choice was denying the claim and I owed $220 more for the repair. I stated in the original submission of the claim that I had cleaned out egg shells from the disposal and it worked again. The technician found a leak due to the age of the disposal. Choice denied the claim because of the egg shells.

    They knew that from the beginning and should have told me from the beginning that the repair would not be covered. I could have chosen to replace the disposal myself, found a disposal on sale, etc., but I was forced to pay for the replacement because Choice denied the claim AFTER the fact. I was hoping Choice would be different - all of the home warranty companies I have used in the past always seem to find a reason to deny the claim. I'm disappointed in this new contract I've signed and in Choice. I will be leery now asking Choice for help and I guess that's the idea...

    ALERT ALERT ALERT, Please do not go with Choice Home Warranty. I had issues with appliance, faucet, roof leak at different times.

    1. During my contract they never told me that all replacement of products will be builder grade. Example, I have a cooktop, Thermador, which costs 6000 dollars. There were 4 technicians sent who said the burner needs to be replaced. All 4 of them said the same. Since the change of burner was costly, Choice tells me nothing can be done and gave me 2 choices, a. Repair it with someone else or b. They will give me 500 dollars to buy a new one. Imagine 6000 dollar product and what I get from them?

    2. Faucet leak: same story, their technicians wanted me to fix my bathroom leak first before they fix the kitchen faucet. Exactly what you are thinking, what does my bathroom shower leak have to do with the kitchen faucet? Again, Choice asks me to get it fixed from outside some plumber and they will pay me 70 dollars for a new faucet. Kitchen faucet, 70 dollars, really? In short please have a peace of mind by not going to Choice Home Warranty.

    Let’s all remember, the purpose of a home warranty company is to protect you from major out-of-pocket expenses when things break. Choice are experts at legal loopholes in their contracts to avoid actually making repairs. This is the first year we’ve actually had some systems start to break down, and they’ve denied 2/3rds of our claims (the one they did fix was minor and we probably could’ve fixed it for the same amount as our service call fee). The other two require major repairs, and now we are left having to foot the bill for them despite the fact that they are just wearing down from age. Again, the purpose of having a home warranty is to pay money upfront for a contract and a service visit fee to prevent costly out of pocket repairs when things stop working. However, it’s very clear that choice has perfected the trifecta, get your money for the contract, your money for the service fee and deny the claims.

    Needless to say we will not be renewing our contract, and the money we spent on contracts we could’ve just fixed/replaced the systems that they are not fixing. The even more frustrating part is you really don’t have any legal recourse that’s financially viable - I’ve been advised that we definitely have a case for our claims, but the time and money to bring that to life and what will likely end up in small claims court isn’t worth it, so the scam lives on. Seriously, don’t give your money to this company, they’re in the business of making money, not covering repairs - you’ve been warned.

    I've sent an email detailing the issues of this claim and repair, but I'll also enclose what was in the email here as well. Here's a link to a photo of the ceiling damage. ** I filed a washer repair claim with Choice Home Warranty on 8/16/25 when I noticed that there was water leaking from the bottom of the machine into the overflow pan, coming from inside the exterior cabinet and collecting in the overflow pan. We've always had an overflow pan under the machine to help guard against such issues and at that point, the pan was catching and containing all the leaked water. The leak was relatively minor at that point, but it was obviously something that needed repair, so I made this claim.

    When the contractor, Sharper Service Solutions called me to schedule an appointment, I spoke with their tech Gavin. He asked me to describe what the machine was doing, which I did. He told me over the phone that from my description he thought it was likely a bad valve so he ordered some parts and had them shipped directly to my home so he would have them here when he came to do the repair.

    Upon inspection in his initial service call on September 2, 2025, Gavin found that it wasn't a valve, but the problem was caused by a leak in the machine tub’s water inlet line. He didn't have the correct hose needed to replace the one that was leaking with him, so he attempted to patch the existing hose with some kind of patching material. He assured us the patch would work for now and that we could use the washing machine, after allowing the patch to dry for a few hours. We waited for several days before using it.

    That then led to further problems, as the patch did not hold and immediately, I saw water still leaking out of the bottom of the machine, just as before. Based on what we'd experienced with the leak previously, I fully expected that the overflow pan would contain the water and allow us to catch up on our laundry.

    The overflow pan had done its job prior to that point, having caught and contained the leaking water from the hose prior to the initial service call. It wasn't until a few minutes later that I went downstairs and into the room directly below the laundry room that I heard and then saw water dripping from the ceiling onto furniture and the carpet. There was a large wet area on the ceiling and so I immediately shut the washer off.

    During the initial repair visit, Gavin had to move the machine around quite a bit while it was on the pan to disassemble it to see what was going on. Since there had been no pan leakage before, I believe those movements are what caused a crack, or cracks, to occur in the pan, which then allowed water to leak out of the pan and down onto the ceiling below following his attempted but failed hose patch. When Gavin returned on September 8, 2025 to replace the leaking hose, he looked under the machine at the pan and saw that there was a crack in it. He did proceed to replace the hose, and the machine is now working properly.

    To restate, no water had leaked out of the pan prior to that first service call, even though we had seen water in the pan each time we did laundry. It's obvious that moving the machine around on the pan during the first service call caused damage to the pan, which in turn caused the water to leak through the pan and floor and do the damage to the ceiling below the laundry room. I now must hire and pay a contractor to come and repair the damage. The contractor says it will be likely to be around $500 to complete the repair and repaint the ceiling properly. The final cost will depend on whether they find any further water damage in the floor under the washer or in the space between the floors. I am proceeding with the repair.

    Given the fact that I’m a subscriber to Choice Home Warranty and Choice is contracted with Sharper Service Solutions to do these repairs, I expect that either, or both, Choice and Sharper will cover the cost of this repair and reimburse me for total repair cost. Until this is cleared up to my satisfaction, I can't give a positive recommendation.

    I put a claim in on Sunday and was told the tech would be out Monday via email but when I talk to the tech, he said that he wouldn’t be out until Tuesday and wasn’t sure why they told me Monday. I can see how a fairly busy business would have a hard time fitting in somebody that was just put in a time slot that wasn’t available. It wasn’t a big deal because we had backup AC units but had we not I would’ve been upset. The technician was there first thing Tuesday morning and was very fast and very efficient and professional and explain things perfectly. My AC was up and running and no time at all.
