Durham construction plumbers were great. Clean and efficient. Arrived on time and did a great job. I had to request a change from Mr. Smith’s plumbing because they did not seem to want to do the job. But was very pleased with the prompt response and courtesy of Durham Plumbing.

Updated on 03/27/2021: My microwave control board is very loose because of small plastic prongs that are designed to secure the control board are broken due to the many, many times it is used during the normal use of the microwave. CHW won't repair this even though my plan says it is covered. Under section D9. of my plan is says built-in microwave included: all components and parts, except: excluded: doors – hinges – handles – doors - door glass – lights - interior linings – trays - clocks - shelves - portable or counter top units – arcing - meat probe assemblies - rotisseries.
I spoke with a Linda ** on an appeal process of CHW decision and she was surely on the jerk me around team and would not grant permission to repair the microwave. She stated that the repair part cost was $462.92 and she would authorize CHW to pay half and I would be responsible for $231.46. Haha a brand new micro of the same make and model only cost $340.00 at Lowe's. Not a very good decision on her part or CHW.
Original review: For years I had Sears home warranty and they did a great job they even replaed the microwaver control board having the same problem as reported to CHW caused by normal ware and tear or default in the control board. In 2019 it began to be extremely hard to get an appointment with Sears in a reasonable time so I switched to CHW in hopes of getting better service. I would suggest that anyone considering the CHW or any home warranty plan to get a copy of the plan that shows what is covered and especially what is not covered before deciding on a plan.
This is my plan from chw. Policy #:** started 12-04-2019 - ends 06-04-2023. My plan cost $1,464.00, $65.00 service call for a single family, total plan. Here is an example of two item, that I recently had a problem with that chw would not repair. Garage door, broken springs and microwave, loose control board and broken door handle.
Please not what is excluded in policy #: ** for these two items. Garage door opener excluded: garage doors - hinges - springs - sensors - chains – travelers - tracks - rollers - remote receiving and/or transmitting devices. It would seem that the only thing covered is the motor that operates the garage door. This is absurd.Built-in microwave excluded: doors – hinges – handles – door glass – lights - interior linings – trays - clocks - shelves – arcing. Note that the control board is not listed here. This is also this is absurd. If I had know all that is excluded in the total plan I might have made a different choice or no choice at all.

Technician and Customer Service were both excellent and expedient. I would definitely refer Choice Home Warranty to a friend or family member. The cost for an annual contract is definitely worth the money with today’s cost to replace and repair household appliances, plumbing, and electrical equipment.

Our seller purchased a Choice Home Warranty for us when we bought their home. We have used them twice already and both times, when they couldn't find a repairman immediately, we were allowed to choose our own and have been reimbursed promptly! We will definitely renew the warranty when it expires.

The technician that you was sent was a great guy. The customer service people that I talk to good people. I did expect a little more on payment but the biggest issue I had was the 30 day turnaround for payment that seemed extreme to me.

I am very pleased with this home warranty so far. Filing a claim is easy - you can do it online. They schedule someone to come out typically within a couple of days. In my experience, the technicians know what they are doing and they are professional. CHW determined that my washing machine needed to be replaced, so they sent me a check, which although it wasn't enough to buy a new replacement at least was sufficient to pay for half. For my garbage disposal, they also replaced it and the process both times was very easy and hassle-free.

CHW was fast to process the claim. The tech team was quick to schedule an appointment but it was a week out. Good reputable service. I was ok to wait b/c of this, better than the alternative of a non-reputable service that is quick to respond but whom you have never heard of nor know if they are fully legit.

Extremely quick response by both Choice and the repair technician, Rapid diagnosis of the problem, returned after hours with the part to complete the repair. I know that all Home Warranty companies are the same but Choice is the least expensive and meets or exceeds the competition.

Today I set up a new policy with Choice. It was an easy transaction and the rep was knowledgeable, easy to talk with, and not too pushy. The terms were good and competitive, and the payment options were acceptable. Looking forward to dealing with Choice; hopefully, I hope I never have to deal with a problem in my home.

Fast, affordable and a great tech was sent out. I had all my locks rekeyed on my new home and the locksmith sent was very polite and worked fast. He also cut us two additional keys. Very happy with the service and contact from Choice Home Warranty during the process.

The appointment was set for Friday, however, Mr. ** happened to be in the neighborhood and called to see if it was ok for him to come Thursday. He got here, diagnosed and fixed the problem quickly. I was happy with the results.

Last week my fan motor took a crap in my outside unit for AC and then Sunday my washer decided to self destruct and they are giving me money towards a new unit. They make their decisions quick so you aren’t down for a long period of time. I highly recommend them!

We called Choice Home on Wednesday evening and Patton’s Renovation in Gonzales scheduled between 7-11 the next morning. Technician was on time, showed us how to take care of the issue if that happened again and completed the task before 8:30. I’d gladly recommend Patton’s Renovation out of Gonzales to anyone. The owner or manager called back letting me know if I have any trouble, don’t hesitate to call back. Remarkable service.

The technician, despite denials of my claim before approval, was great about coming back to make repair after initial denial. Dealing with call center was awful. There were frequent dropped calls and long wait times. One call representative didn’t even understand my contract and initially said I didn’t have coverage of the broken item. As a new customer, I now fear I chose the wrong home warranty company.

Frig work order turned in Mar 4th. Said he would order part and be back Sat 6th. It has been 17 days. Has not called. Your company had problems also. Had a Sears tech here Mar 24th. Fixed the problem in about an hour. Excellent tech. Very knowledgeable about Frigs. The first tech could only cuss every word in the book. He had no idea where he was. I was a sailor for 12 years and didn't hear that kind of language. I think he was on SPEED

For the most part, you are responsive in a timely manner. My chief complaint is lack of communication either by phone, text or email. This is very aggravating. My other complaint is the companies you choose are mostly out of town.

I have been using Choice Home Warranty for a little over 2 years. I am happy. I have always had extended warranties from the individual stores I purchased my appliances from and when the last 5 year one ran out I decided to try Choice Home. Only 1 number to call for repairs. Their response time is equal to the individual stores and getting in the parts is about the same response time. But they have repaired every appliance that broke down. They have honored the contract. They have quickly set up times for the technicians to come out. Every appliance has been repaired to my satisfaction. We all want same day repairs but that is history but they do an excellent job and all the people I have spoken to or have had come to my home are very polite and have practiced Covid Safe precautions.

We had a garage door problem. When we signed up for our second contract with Choice, the salesperson PROMISED that the door would be fixed. Several companies were sent out between the first contract and the second contract. Finally they sent a technician who actually knew what the problem was. Claim ** And Choice refused to cover it! We paid $100.00 to fix the problem, plus the $45.00 co-payment. The reason we didn't protest is because my husband was diagnosed with 2 types of skin cancer right after this and our priorities were with his surgery.
Then, yesterday our plumbing backed up. We had no toilet working! I got a message from Choice with an appointment for Friday (This was Wednesday.) And a phone number that said Texas when I dialed it. 806.757.7861. We are elderly and needed immediate help! We had no toilet to use! Then an email gave me the correct phone number. The rep there had no fax so could not schedule the service. I called Choice again and the woman I talked to called the plumbing company and they got the technician to come yesterday. I should not have had to make 4 calls! The plumbing company sent a man who unclogged the clean outs and we are fine now. Thanks for reading this. Ann **

I was very satisfied with the technician but I was VERY dissatisfied with the treatment from Choice Home Warranty. Your service is awful! I was put off for a very long time then told it wasn't a priority. It was a priority to me. I should not be told to find someone on my own when I pay you every month to do just that.

Usually I don't have no problems with CHW but this time after my water heater was put in I was having issues with it. It all came down to the heating element was broken in 2 and CHW wouldn't cover it. I had to pay $85 after I was told by a CHW worker it was still covered when it was first installed.

One star review for Choice Home Warranty. I called in a claim for my furnace, The company that was assigned made two appointments with me with 4 hour windows of time. They did NOT show up for either. I was then asked to accept the reimbursement process they have. This I think is due to contractors not willing to work with CHW. I worked with my mechanical contractor to submit the claim that CHW denied instantly. I appealed the claim, I was assigned a case worker who did not return my calls for nearly a week. They offered me $60 for a system that was over $10k. I DO NOT recommend this company.
CHW advertises their home warranties will protect customers against high cost of unexpected repair/replacement of home systems including furnaces but in reality CHW's contracts are riddled with exclusions for what the company deems as "normal wear and tear" and lack of maintenance or like in my example here exclusions for rust or corrosion. I have read many reviews similar to mine online, I hope this one helps many avoid this, in my genuine opinion of this business to be a misleading deceptive scheme.

Technician was respectable and covered his shoes while inside my home, was on time and worked around my schedule because the initial appointment was at an inconvenience time. He checked the water heater and furnace and explained different situations and what to do when they happen. I would recommend Michael heating company.

Such a mess. The customer service department doesn't know what they a doing. I had water leaks in the basement, filed a claim, was waiting for three days. It was leaking badly. I call the Plumbing company in my area, and they gave me an estimate. I sent an email to CHW through their website that I have an estimate, and I need to submit it, but the following day I received a message from them that the other company was assigned to my claim, and their scheduled my appointment in 7 days.
My technician replaced the pipe this morning. I tried to speak to the CHW rep, asking to remove the other company from my account so that I can submit the estimate, but they told me that I would not get reimbursement because I already used the emergency service. I am very disappointed. I would never sign the contract with CHW again. They do not communicate with each other, and they will do everything not to let you get your money.

Kevin was the best appliance repair person I have ever encountered. Knew his job well and since we just moved into the house a few months ago gave us a lot of info on our fridge and even our dishwasher. Would hope if we need an appliance fix again he would be the one to come and fix it.

They really helped me a lot during difficult things. The presence of COVID have caused lots of families financial burdens. The ice storm also made a big miss in Texas. Great service from the contractor that came home. Completely disagree with the money offered for fixing my claim, it will not cover even 1/3 of the total cost of a my new appliance installation, and very disappointed with the explanations of the claim manager assigned.

The first tech sent was not very thorough so CHW reassigned the claim. The second tech was great. Told us a new part was needed and that it would take a few weeks to get the part because of COVID. We have been informed of our next appointment. We are so pleased with the amazing service!

Some of the people I spoke with on the phone about my claim were foreign & could hardly speak English in which I was infuriated. I had to keep asking them to repeat what they were saying so I could write it in my notes. I would have to ask like every 3 words & they spoke way too fast. And then it took a few days to find a contractor. The first one assigned did do the type of work that was needed!

Last time not recently garage door open motor changed. Rebuilt one and told me he put new but now recently find out not new built 2010 installed 2019. Now remote didn’t work yesterday. The technician who came out is fine, nice guy and my issue isn’t with him. I would rate this 5 stars if he would be given authority to fix the issue immediately. I have a dryer that stopped heating Sunday. I placed the claim in immediately and get scheduled for Wednesday. Not great but okay, I’m not complaining if this is it. Wednesday he comes to assess only, then he needs to go back to Choice and get permission to fix it. It’s a thermostat issue, a typical problem for an older model dryer. Now he has to order the part and that takes 3-5 days.
So now I’m looking at 2 weeks to fix a dryer. For a problem like this without a home warranty I’m thinking it would cost me $150 had I just called a technician myself. Add my monthly bill plus the service fee and I’m wondering what I'm paying for. This isn’t the first time I’ve placed a claim. I canceled my first one this past summer because my home AC stopped working. They set an appointment a week out. So I cancelled and called my own technician. It was a capacitor and it cost me $125 to fix the next day! What am I paying for?

Plummer Tech showed up earlier than expected, was fast to determine the problem and explained what was causing the issue after about 15 minutes of troubleshooting. After offering a few recommendations on possible fixes and options, our water heater was back in working order.

My door from my oven had locked due to a power surge. The Tech who came out was knowledgeable of what went on. He plugged my stove back up and the code F9 was gone. It had reset itself. He told me if it happens again before the month is out he would be back with no charge.

I bought the highest package and when I talked to the salesperson he said they are aware the house is over 30 years old and I specifically asked about the AC as we do live in Texas. He said if it couldn’t be repaired it would be replaced. Well it can be repaired but I’m appealing the decision that you won’t repair it. My tech said the older units have this issue and it needs repaired and he can do it, if Choice would let him. I have bragged about our service and I hope to continue, please overturn the initial decision.

The tech was excellent although he forgot to turn the power on again before he departed. He was extremely knowledgeable, clean and friendly. He explained each step of what and why he was doing it. We are now waiting to see if the AC can be repaired or replaced considering the availability of parts. Eugene with Just Cooling gave a complete inspection of my appliances until he found the issue. He took the extra steps to change the filter in the furnace and vacuum the water from the washer pan. He wore a mask and shoe covers the entire time.

All contractors were friendly and explained their work. All work was completed in a timely manner. Had an issue with hot water heater after repairs were done. It leaked water all over the floor. Called them and they returned promptly and fixed the issue. Was disappointed that cooktop was not covered in warranty.

My claim was denied to replace several plastic pieces that hold a salad crisper drawer. It was said this was not due to normal wear and tear. I disagree completely as the part simply wore out. The tech sent said this was not an uncommon occurrence. The refrigerator is close to 10 years old and the shelf itself was lightly loaded.

Went online to review home warranty coverages and saw where Choice Home Warranty had a 5 star rating. I gave them a call and spoke to Karter **. He gave me coverage information and a price and I advised I would discuss with my husband and get back to him. When we spoke today he gave us an even better price for a 3 year policy and guarantee that the price would not increase since we were in a premium covered area. Placing a claim and working with the repair person were excellent. However following the process I had two questions. I was not aware that I would be all for gift cards instead of a check to replace my washer. The repair person mentioned I get a check and it would take about four weeks so I went out looking for sales and bought a washer on my credit card. The gift cards will not do me any good. I called and asked if a check could be sentenced said and was told after several holds that they’ve arranged to send me a check and I would get a confirming email within 24 hours. I have not received the email.
In addition, during the process of converting from gift card to check the technician told me I had to except the offer by pressing the button on the email. I specifically told her that I was aware if I press that button I could not negotiate a different price. Her reply was “trust me you have to press the button for us to proceed“ I press the button she supposedly made the check change. Again, a confirming email has not been received. Secondly I wanted to discuss the amount offered to replace my washer as even with a good sale your offer is less than half of what I had to pay. Because I excepted the offer based on the instructions given I was unable to arrange for a person to discuss the negotiation with me. The telephone technician did say that she would have a person contact me to schedule a negotiation talk.

Told me that a pre-existing condition purchased with the house did not qualify because our home inspector messed up the inspection. The previous owner had been running the AC unit without a filter. The home inspector said that the unit was in working order and clean before the house was purchased(In fact he checked the unit twice). Since the home inspector did not catch an issue, it is his fault that the claim is being denied(As per my case manager).
So apparently a qualified and certified professional knows less about this than the case manager, who has no qualifications or certifications to make these assertions in the first place. Told me that since the previous owner did not properly maintain the AC unit and the inspector missed that issue during two rounds of inspections, that the issue did not qualify. Even though this issue fell under every category they tried to use to deny the claim under, the final decision was based on their interpretation that a qualified professional(The home inspector) did not do a proper inspection. Keep in mind that they refused to even send someone out to validate their assumption. It's no wonder they do not require home inspection before setting up a policy, they don't listen to the home inspector if it does not favor them.
I offered to send them proof that a qualified professional inspected the unit and gave it a passing grade *before* the purchase of the house. The case manager refused to take the evidence. And told me that it doesn't matter that this was a pre-existing issue because the qualified professional missed the issue. So apparently, they can deny you service for just about anything because they can just blame the inspector for not doing their job.
To be clear, as per their policy, "This Contract provides coverage for unknown/undetectable pre-existing conditions so long as the malfunction could not, or would not, have been detected by a visual inspection or simple mechanical test." Even though a inspection was performed of the unit AND mechanical test where done on the unit, they are still blaming the home inspector for the issue. I have documented evidence that this was undetectable by a qualified professional. They refused to look at the documentation and blindly blamed the inspector for not doing his job. Again, I have a detailed report that shows that he did do his job. Do not use this company, they do not honor their own contract and will blame others to deny contractual obligations.

Discount Air Conditioning And Heating technicians arrived at my house on time. Examined my heating unit and diagnosed the problem in two minutes. They said that this was a common malfunction and I needed a new wheel for my furnace period. After contacting Choice they called me up and were back at my house with the part needed for my furnace within an hour or two. They repaired the furnace quickly. Everything is working fine and they also recommended specific air filters for my furnace which I install every three months. They said that the filters they are recommending can be purchased at Home Depot. They’re cheaper than the ones I was using and better and they also pointed out that it would save money on my electric bill.
Earl and Andrew were exceptionally nice people and extremely helpful. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone who needs heating or air conditioning service. They were excellent. Earl and Andrew are top-notch technicians and I am very glad that Choice recommended Discount heating and air conditioning to do the job at my home. These two gentlemen were excellent And a five star rating for sure.

CHW has always been very responsive, trying to get repairs arranged as quickly as possible. But, my service fee has gone up from $60 to $85 with no explanation from CHW. This is very concerning to me as my contract stated $60 service fee when I signed up with CHW.

I have had a warranty policy with CHW for several years. It seems there is always a discrepancy for CHW to deny a service call for homeowners. Recently I had a leak in a pipe behind my washer. The technician had to cut into the drywall to assess the problem. Real quick your technician denied my request for repair. Never talked to the technician but solely went by a picture per your request. Just so happens because the pipe was leaking at the elbow it caused the pipe to look corroded. It's a catch 22 with your company all the time. Had your rep talked to the technician I would not be writing this comment. So disappointed in your service I will not renew my contract ever again.

My garage door stopped working on a Thursday night. It was dark and I could not make out and I filed a complaint stating that I thought the chain was broken. It was denied because a chain is not covered. Next morning I went to take a closer look and realized it was not the chain but something inside the drive that was broken. Contested the denial, spoke to an agent, a technician was confirmed by Friday evening, and sent out Monday morning. He checked it out, informed me that this failure was covered and then after receiving approval, quickly and competently replaced the drive. I was satisfied with the speed and promptness of the service.

Home warranty is ok but they don’t explain their system. After their service men came to review the problem with my refrigerator they email their solution. But I never knew that I had to answer them only by email. After I call they guided me on their website. Being that my refrigerator could not be repaired they are going to give some money to kind help replace my refrigerator. That was over 12 days ago and still waiting. They said it would 3 to 5 days and is well past due. They just take too long to respond and complete their end of the agreement.

The plumber you sent to find the leak in my bathroom was very professional, honest and showed up on time when he said he would. He called me back the next day to tell me my claim had been reassigned. I'm not sure what happened between him and Choice but I had absolutely no problems with him and believe that he would've done a good job, given the opportunity. We live in a small town with very few contractors that can be trusted to do what they say they are going to do. I don't feel like he was that type.

The only glitch was he was given my home ph# in PA so I didn't get an "I'm on the way" heads up. Last claim hasn't gone so well. My furnace back in PA was fixed last fall but because you guys couldn't find a tech I had to find one and it's been difficult to get him to provide the documentation to you and hence I still have not been reimbursed.

I had a problem with my Condenser not cutting off. Even when no heat or air was on, it would just keep running. I put in a claim with choice and was immediately sent a confirmation and date that someone would come out and look at it. The time that had been scheduled did not work for me, so I called the company and they were very accommodating. The guy came in checked out the situation and fixed it. He had a mask on but I would suggest that company also wear something over their shoes once they enter someone's house.

My experience with you guys is so bad, not bad but horrible... It's a system that you have in place, this is how it goes;
2. Not approved.
3. Call again.
4. Will send someone else.
5. New deductible because....always some procedures.
6. Call again.
7. Now case manager needs to review.

9. Every time case is escalated you help...funny how you guys do us (customers) favors by sending someone else, or by waiving the second deductible even though your service guy didn't show up/followup with 'your customer' for 30 days, neither you guys followed up!
10. AC goes off in the middle of summer and you guys find some company that "can't" come for 10 days because they are busy.
11. Me as a customer gotta do your job, find available company that comes earlier and fixes it.
12. Call again, you guessed it not approved because....some procedure.
13. Call again, now we know the process...escalate the ticket, some other guy does you a favor (in this case only 30%)...funny system.
- List goes probably to 50 but I have no time! Nothing personal, just your way of operating is wrong!!

The representative sent technicians out knowing that the hot water tank wasn’t covered under warranty. I had to still pay the $45 and it took them 5 days to send someone out. It has been over a week and my refrigerator is still not fixed. I called over a week ago to initiate the claim. A repairman did not arrive until three days later. I had to call Maytag for the part as of this date the part has not been received. Medication and food spoilage is overwhelming. I am losing money daily. I am extremely disappointed with this experience.

I had started a claim with CHW, and the agent I spoke with was very professional and prompt to address my needs. She got the call in the same day, which is so appreciated as I had no heat in the house for several days. The technician that was sent was on time and thorough. I have recommended CHW to several friends and colleagues, and I know it speaks for itself how pleased I am by the fact that I prepaid the warranty for three years. I have had three recent issues. A/C, Septic System, and dishwasher. The A/C took 4-5 days before someone could look at it. I got my own contractor in one day. The septic system was clogged and CHW told me they couldn't find anyone to resolve the issue. I found someone in 2 days but was not fully reimbursed for the problem. The dishwasher was determined to be too expensive to repair so CHW would replace it for a total of $256, and I could expect a payment in 3- 4 weeks. I cannot buy a dishwasher anywhere for $256. So much for the "if we can't repair we will replace." I am very dissatisfied with all three experiences.

I was happy with the final outcome. The politics between the technician and choice home was frustrating. Being my first claim I was surprised. Hopefully this won’t happen again. I felt pressured to get additional “insurance” from the technician on top of the money I pay to Choice Home.

I called Jan 26th. The Repair will be completed, as of last correspondence, April 16th. The 2nd attempt at a Service Technician was Excellent on March 22nd; we are awaiting Parts. The 1st Technician was a No Show/No Call and taken off of Choice's List as being non dependable!!!

We have called Choice twice both for our AC and heating system. In both cases I had to put in writing a claim because whatever is wrong you don’t cover. You are very good at responding to a call and for sending technicians but then comes the problem. If you declare that you cover AC/Heating systems what does that actually mean because so far it means you cover nothing. The technician from Direct AC Distributors was excellent and thorough. I can’t say the same for Palm Bay. My new claim and grievance was sent in yesterday and at this point and time, we are wondering if our $3,000 investment with Choice is worth it.

I have been battling a range issue since October 2020, to no avail. My problem is still not repaired. The previous technicians sent did not know what they were doing--a horrible experience. The technician that came today seemed to know what he was doing and he was very professional. It appears we need a new appliance, but Choice Home Warranty does very little to satisfy the customer. I will NEVER do business with them again. I advise anyone who is looking for a home warranty company, please do not choose Choice Home Warranty. They do everything possible not to fix the issue.

Technician was very knowledgeable but CHW service was 0 because they didn’t help me for changing the unit so actually it was useless to have this kind of insurance. I am not recommending to anyone. I ask even for part of that but they didn’t accept.

I had no heat and the technician was scheduled right away, then they called and were able to come 2 days sooner. A/C Advice took care of the problem without hardly even having to interrupt my working at home. They replaced the blower motor, called it in to Choice, got an approval and were on their way with only a service charge.

My contractor was pleasant, knowledgeable and experienced! Upon arrival he promptly diagnosed the problem, called for authorization to conduct the replacement and repair. And do so very efficiently! I had a technician from Kimko Group LLC dba Appliance Repair Team sent through Choice. He claimed to fix my burner on my gas stove. After he left I could smell gas. He returned to find a pipe broken that he had to have broken when opening the stove. I need a someone from Choice to call me regarding this matter.

"Due to COVID", it took a couple of weeks for CHW to line up a technician for me, but once the technician contacted me, everything went like clockwork. He set up an appointment, arrived on time, and diagnosed the problem accurately and efficiently. Now I am waiting on CHW to fulfill their obligation.

While I am satisfied with the final repair, I was very unhappy with the process. First, my claim was denied for a flange replacement. A very common plumbing problem. Then I was referred to a Case Manager for review who didn't return my calls or e-mails. When I finally talked to her after 2 days, she was very curt. Evidently the contract that I have, is not the one that is online. So they were telling me to refer to a different section. All in all, I'm very disappointed with this warranty and I am thinking of cancelling it, even though I've had it for several years. It's just not covering repairs so why have it???

Brandon was “Outstanding” from the very start: 1. He contacted me to confirm the apt & adjusted it to meet my schedule. 2. Showed up on time & even contacted me in route to confirm he was on the way. He not only diagnosed the problem & fixed it; but researched & analyzed it, & discovered what triggered the problem in the first place. He discovered a broken water line in my attic water heater system that was spewing like a shower head; which had soaked the interior walls & floors, running down between the walls infiltrating the Master Bedroom & Bathroom circuits, which if he hadn’t tracked it down, it could have resulted in my house catching on fire. Because when he first arrived, I told him that the light switches were warm to the touch & that I had heard strange noises coming out of the switch.
He said after he had fixed it that the sound was a result of the water getting into the switch box & sparking, which was why my circuit board was constantly switching off; it was trying to warn me of an impending catastrophe. Brandon not only fixed the first problem but by his persistence discovered that real problem underneath which caused the terrible situation in the first place. Many techs would have fixed the first problem, took the money & run to the next job; but not Brandon & his assistant Wally, they were like hunting dogs on the scent, relentless & determined to the get to the root of the problem. He is not perfect (only God), but he was sent from Heaven & he is my guardian Angel. As you can see; I am so impressed with this man’s “professionalism & dedication to his Craft”. L&K Repair was thorough. He updated me as to the problem. He said would be in touch with updates. He spent time thawing out and removing the ice buildup. I am waiting now for word on whether he can get the replacement part and when he can come and get my refrigerator running again.

I put in a claim regarding my water heater and the turnaround time is supposed to be between 4-24 hrs. Nobody got back to me about a technician until a day and a half later. Then the number they gave me was a non working number. We had been out of hot water for 2 days. The technician came to diagnose the issue and told me it would be another 2 days for him to fix it. It’s been almost 5 days without hot water.

I was more than pleasantly pleased with how easy it was to file a claim. I was out of town for over a week and thought I could not file the claims because I did not know the model or serial numbers. I was totally shocked to find out I did not need any of those things and I did not have to pay the service fee when I filed the claim. I pay it when the tech comes out. I have a problem with my a/system and your case manager m Norvette ** was so unprofessional and mean. She decline my case using a 15 years old repair in the condenser to declaim the repair saying that was the razón of the compressor overheating and short to ground the compressor, I had spoke with the technician and he said he never said that was the cause of the damage. I ask miss ** to send me copy of the report and she denied. Then I have a second opinion from a different a/c company and they said that the repair was done on the condenser. It’s not the cause to create a blockage and overheating and short the compressor to ground.
I guess I’m about to cancel my policy with you and same way I recommended your company to my family and friends I would tell them this bad experience with you and they decided if they wanna keep doing business with you. I send a pic of the repair she’s using and calling físicas damage and it’s been in the condenser for more than 15 years. When I called to report an issue, the call taker focused on a minor, non-issue when I told her that I had a sewer back-up and the wrong technician was scheduled. I had to contact the contractor to cancel the appointment, recontact Choice to get the right contractor scheduled and then Choice apparently emailed the appointment to the contractor and didn't call them so they didn't show until I called. I still don't have the problem fixed because the first visit was only a consultation and now I wait until Choice approves what they think should be done.

We called Choice one evening at 8:30 PM. At 9:00 AM the following morning the technician arrived at our home, checked the cause of why the disposal wasn't working, confirmed with Choice that a replacement was needed, and replaced the disposal and by 10:00 AM that morning, we had a new disposal. It seems I spend more time trying to find out why my claims aren’t covered. My last claim was denied and I’m not really sure why. When I purchased Choice Home Warranty I was told everything in my home would be covered, only to learn you have to do an add on policy for different things in your home. My washer quit working. Technician came out and spent no more than 15 mins. Told me it needed a part to be approved by Choice Home Warranty. Day later I received an email from CHW states they were replacing my appliance. The amount of money offered was not sufficient. I had to schedule a phone appointment with a case manager. Earliest appointment was six days away. That appointment did not go well. The CM could not tell me why a repair could not be made. I did not receive an answer until I called the next day and left a msg. I had to settle for the lowball reimbursement for replacement. Was told it will be two weeks before I receive a check. Not happy.

I was very pleased with the technician that came out and his company. Choice home warranty uses good subcontractors but I have an issue with the main company itself. I have coverage to repair pipes in the wall in my home which I had a problem with and they never gave me a penny. It cost me thousands of dollars to repair it and I never got any reimbursement or a call back on my claim. I'm deciding whether I should renew my contractor not?
