    I was happy that the same day I got a response back that I was going to get to have the dishwasher replaced. I haven’t priced dishwashers so I had no idea they were so expensive. What was offered will only cover the installation and a few extra parts that I have to purchase. Unfortunately Lowe's is having a hard time getting models in so if I find something on the floor that is available it’s either not what I want or a much more expensive model that I didn’t want.

    I had bad luck last month. I had two items go out on me a water softener and a air conditioner. Choice denied both. On the Air conditioner they said the coils were damaged by the Acids in the air causing them to corrode and fail (Choice says they don't cover due to Acids in the air.) They hadn't even talked to their Tech before they came up with that excuse. It cost me $ 6100.00 to replace the A/C unit.

    On the Water Softener Choice said they would not repair or replace it (the control unit went out) because I hadn't flushed the sand and rocks in the unit. Even an IDIOT knows that a Water Softener doesn't have sand and rocks inside, the unit has Resign inside. The unit flushes itself every time it regenerates. What's inside doesn't have anything to do with the electronic unit on top. Cost me $ 990.00 to replace. What good is Choice? All they want is your Money.

    Suddenly I found a third of the basement flooded due to a water tank leak. CHW tried to get a technician to accept the job but couldn’t find one. At my request CHW authorized for me to get my local plumber and initiated the Claim Rembursement Process. My local tech came promptly and finished the entire job in a few hours. He did submit his diagnosis to CHW prior to starting the work.

    After the work was finished, lo and behold CHW says they disallow the claim on the basis that they do not cover preexisting conditions KNOWN OR UNKNOWN. If it is known then we get it fixed. If it is unknown, how are we supposed to know that. Just about every old equipment or system will have some unknown preexisting condition. Therefore, using the above as anime clause CHW can disallow all such claims. If so, the CHW contract is useless. I am currently in the Appeal process. If there is no satisfactory outcome I would give serious consideration to canceling the contract.

    Twice a year, I have a reliable company clean and checkout my outdoors HVAC system. Last year they warned me of a possible coolant leak at the valve entry point. This year the coolant levels and overall temp was low. So I called Choice Home Warranty, they sent out their own technician, he showed me the exact same things, took some photos, mentioned some rust but agreed with original assessment. This unit was installed in 2004, when the house was built. Rust (according to Google) is caused when oxygen and moisture contact iron or alloy. New equipment warranties are for 10 years, this unit is 17 years old, outside. CHW will not repair or replace due to rust on a non-moving part, according to paragraph F - 1. Yep, they "F"'d this "1". Read your fine print before you purchase. Never again.

    I had a leak in the "T" which leads to the pressure tank of my water system. It was leaking and caused it to rust. Choice said that since it had rusted it was not covered by the policy. This is ridiculous! Water causes rust and without this functioning, I don't have water just a flooded basement. This certainly explains why they only have a 2 star review rating. Additionally, the plumber who was sent, worked very hard to assist with the justification of the claim was equally baffled by Choice's determination. This coverage is not worth buying!!!!

    Called in on a Monday to report plumbing/ backed up disposal issue. In less than a day, I was assigned a contractor and a time for the following Wednesday! Way too long to wait when every time you use your dishwasher the water backs up and doesn't drain out of your sink. Had to continually bail out water into the other basin. Plumbing issues should be taken care of within 48 hours. The fix was a five minute wrench turn of the disposal and a reset. Nice gentleman, called and came earlier in the day than expected, which was welcome. But I could have called someone on my own and had them here in 2 days or less.

    My other issue was that IF the disposal was broken, and could not be fixed, my contractor told me that we would have to wait for approval from Choice, which the contractor said could take up to a week. Why are you not having these contractors call in and get immediate, on the phone approval? So had it been beyond repair, we would have had to wait over two weeks at the very minimum to have this situation rectified. Now suppose this was a hot water heater or the heat or my stove or refrigerator? How long are you supposed to wait on a replacement? Very inconvenient and I'm concerned about this and seriously considering canceling the three year contract if this is any indication of how things are going to be taken care of in the future. I will say that this was not the case regarding an unsafe electrical issue we had last year. They did have an electrician come out within 48 hours.

They said 4-6 weeks (which in itself IS 28 - 42 days... by my maths). Claimed that it was over 30 days since the "REPAIR" so, it's a new call - what kinda service is that????

    2. Fix my leaking pipe... - sent tech - who came 9PM at night to fix after waiting a week. He used spare prices of whatever PVC piping he had laying around to "repair" - only the repair leaked worse than before he "fixed" it. Several call - no answer - at least this time CW sent another tech who is supposed to be fixing. The problem is - this repair was sched at the same time as #1 - and fixed about a week later... So it's nice to see you can interpret your contract the way you see fit.

    NOT RECOMMENDED:

    Shady.

    The technician was excellent and knew what he was doing. My complaint is with how this was handled by Choice, which was pathetic. My rating would only be a "1". The reason, is based on this dishwasher was reported to your company on 25 January and has been out of service until yesterday. I have gone round and around on this with your company and only received excuses. A technician was assigned and he diagnosed the problem as needing a pump and motor. He based this on just hearing the dishwasher running. You all have the date and times when this technician came out, but you had issues with him on what he said was wrong with the dishwasher. It took almost another month to finally get another technician here, which he was able to solve the problem and got the dishwasher working the way it should work.

    Additionally, I was promised by management the April payment would be waivered, which it wasn't. Again, the technician was knowledgeable and solved the problem, but as far as the service, I received, I only can rate it a "1". Very disappointed in your service reps and the way I was treated on this. If this is the way your company treats others, I am sure your ratings will drop and you will lose many customers. If you continue servicing customers this way I am sure your company will be out of business real soon. We still have not made up our minds on whether to cancel or stay with your company, but hopefully this is a one time issue and it will never happen again.

    I am very dissatisfied with the service I received from Choice Home Warranty regarding my central air conditioning unit. I specifically bought this warranty after speaking with your sales department about my aged unit and what coverage would be available if it needed to be replaced. I was assured I had replacement value coverage. My AC stopped working last year because it was losing Freon. I had it repaired and here we are again with no Freon.

    I’ve had three HVAC companies look at the unit and they tell me it cannot be repaired. They’ve also told me due to EPA guidelines that you should not repair refrigerant leaks of this age due to the danger to the environment. I have no company that will repair this. Only replace it. You have declined my coverage telling me that A leak is not a covered repair. The unit cannot be repaired per EPA guidelines so I am looking for a contribution to replacement coverage.This is been a very frustrating and disappointing experience.

Choice advertised, "We will replace your unit." Unfortunately, the amount they allocated to us, does not cover the cost of purchase of the lowest brand at the same size and capacity.     We have had nothing but problems with getting service techs out for our plumbing issues until this last tech we had who was awesome. With that said we were having leaks in our faucets and hot water tank, now it seems that it is our house pressure valve that has gone bad and Choice is refusing to take care of any of it. I can understand that the pressure valve is not covered because of a clause, but it is suppose to cover all the plumbing system. We have had them over a year now and this issue just popped up and they are refusing to cover anything. My recommendation would be to use another service company. I chose choice originally because they seemed to take better care of their clients.

    I turned in a claim on March 21st for a clothes washer repair. Through no fault of CHW I had to get a second appointment with a different company due to the first one completely dropping the ball. The tech was in our house for maybe 5 minutes and said unit needed replacement. I was offered about a third of my replacement cost in Lowe's gift cards. I turned it down and was assigned a case manager. Got an email stating within 24 hours I would be contacted. Over 3 days later I finally got a call back to schedule an appointment to discuss claim. I asked to just handle it then which thankfully she agreed to. Unfortunately the outcome was still subpar. They increased my offer for replacement about $140 but still wasn't half of a comparable replacement. It is now April 8th and I still have not received a check. As much as I pay for the 3 different policies I have with CHW I feel cheated.

    A claim submitted for leaking garbage disposal was denied. The reason for denial was “improper installation.” I have the Choice Ultimate coverage plan which covers improper installation. According to the contract sent to me, enhanced coverage in the Ultimate Protection includes... “correct an improper installation/repair/modification of a system or appliance...” Claim should have been covered. Now I have to call another plumber on my own to fix an issue which is specifically covered by the home warranty package I already purchased.

    Choice Home Warranty is a classic example of the left hand having no clue what the right hand is doing. I submitted a claim for repair of a garbage disposal. Second day I was offered the option to contact my own repair service. The technician submitted the diagnoses as required by CHW. I was told the request would be submitted to CHW technicians. Third day I called for an update. I was told the request would not be considered until I offered proof of payment for a repair done in Oct. 2021. A repair CHW did not authorize, nor reimburse. I asked to speak with a supervisor. I was told someone would get back to me "within 24 hours."

    To comply, I submitted the receipt for payment... I did receive a supervisor call within 2 hours and was told the proof of payment and claim request would be submitted... Several hours I received a very confusing email... Paragraph 1...Our responsibility is to arrange for a qualified contractor at our expense. Paragraph 5, CHW is not responsible for problems of jams or foreign objects. Jams or foreign objects for a claim submitted 6 months ago. We are now approaching day 5, and I have no idea if CHW will honor my claim or not..

    I have a contract for home warranty with Choice Home Warranty. Recently had a garbage disposal stop working and leaking. The plumber submitted photos which looked like rust because of liquids and food that had leaked. They rejected it based on the fact that rust and corrosion are not covered. After washing the unit the dirt and food came off easily with just water. Plumber than re-submitted the form saying it was not rust - he had made a mistake in initial diagnosis. They still rejected.

    I opened a case with them and re-submitted photos of the cleaned unit showing there was no rust to begin with. The case manager kept saying they will not approve this claim because the photos looked compromised - first she said the pics look like they are of a new unit. When I said to her it is the same unit that has been in the house for 8 years and told her about the serial number, she said well it is compromised because it was cleaned. I said rust will not come off if you clean it with water. She just kept saying they wouldn't approve it. I asked her on what basis as there is no rust and she did not give a good answer and kept saying the "authorization dept" cannot approve it. I had to pay over $350 to get a new one installed and CHW will not pay a cent. I am only supposed to pay a $45 deductible for claims. It is clear they don't want to pay for claims as much as possible. And they did not give me a valid reason why the claim was denied.

    I have a 13 year old A/C unit. I have COVERAGE for A/C systems in my warranty for which I paid 5 years in advance!! Choice is REFUSING to pay for a compressor replacement ($1750). They have made up excuses like a sudden power surge must have caused it to go bad...PROVE IT! They claim "dirty systems" WRONG!     The service provided by RAA dba Lonestar Mechanical to fix my AC/heater was excellent with the technician arriving on time and efficiently fixing the problem (which turned out to be a thermostat issue). I appreciate that I was able to request this company, since they had installed the unit and knew what to do with it.

    Because I was requesting this company for service, I needed to talk to a Choice Home Warranty representative to start the claim instead of doing it online. I called about 8:30 AM Monday, and after holding for a while was offered the call back option. That DID NOT work. I finally called again around 3 PM and was connected to a representative pretty quickly. They should not offer a call back option, if they are not going to call back. I might have gotten service sooner if my call had been returned. This problem needs to be fixed.

    When a claim is approved it is a joke what is paid for “replacement”. I called Choice knowing it would be denied or at the very least a few dollars and way under what it would cost to replace but I still have the contract that I paid a lot of money for so I called. I have been very disappointed from the very first call after I paid my money. But my contract will end and I will go to another company.

    Repair technician said the compressor and control board had failed. Cost to repair was estimated at $1300. CHW offered a $1200 buy out which I took and purchased a similar unit (cost of $ 2,499 at Lowes). I was told the $1200 check would be mailed to me with an ETA of 2-3 weeks for the check to arrive. I should have the check by April 15. On the receipt of the check, I will be happy with the process.

    Patton plumbing was notified by CHW to repair some faucets, toilet handle and flanges needing repair. He replaced one bathtub faucet, but was concerned about damage if he replaced 2nd tub faucet. He also told my husband what to get to repair handle on toilet. CHW said it wasn't covered because it had broken, well it's been in there for 13 years, so of course it broke. Husband doesn't know how. 3rd and I'm the most upset about this, CHW won't repair a broken flange from toilet to system. What use is having a warranty if you don't take care of things like this? Plumber was nice, but seemed in hurry.

    My air handler motor failed late on Good Friday, with the Easter holiday ahead. My wife and I are seniors and sometimes not the best with techno devices, so when the Choice Warranty phone system was closed for Covid-19 concerns and we had to take care of everything online we were a little worried. We waited 2 days for a tech to make an appointment then were advised we could arrange for our own service repair, which we did. The process with approvals and photos, etc. were a little taxing and new to us, but our Tech from Savannah Air Factory was excellent, and finally all is well again.     I'm giving one star because that's the lowest star available. I am giving this review to hopefully save someone else from purchasing a warranty with this company. Choice Home Warranty has been a huge disappointment. Their TV advertising completely misleading. In my experience, the claims process needs huge improvements. I filed a claim to have my over the range oven microwave fixed last year. After 4 different technicians visited my home, three of them ordered the wrong part and none of them knew how to fix it. It took me a total of five months to finally get a check from Choice Home Warranty to go towards the cost of replacing my over the range oven microwave. After all of the hassle of going back and forth with customer service agents and supervisors, I was finally offered a replacement price that did not completely cover the cost of replacing the microwave. It was a horrible experience.

    I was ready to cancel with them until I spoke to a resolution manager who offered one month free. I gave them another shot a few months later when I called to open a claim to get my kitchen faucet repaired. The tech came to my home and wrote the claim inaccurately because it did not include the source of the leak which was the problem. Choice Home Warranty denied the claim. I paid $65 to the tech to look at the faucet and write a misleading claim that got denied.

    I called to complain and told the customer service agent I was ready to cancel due to poor service. They transferred me to a resolution manager who was rude and nonchalant. Rather than seek to provide me with a solution, this person canceled my policy rather than advising me on how to appeal the denial. I will never recommend Choice Home Warranty. The managers need training. I regret ever purchasing from Choice Home Warranty. Save yourself the headache and choose another home warranty company.

    I called for service for my AC & Heating Unit that was making a very loud noise when running like maybe a fan blade was hitting or a bearing had gone out. Choice called for someone to come take a look at the Unit. The responding repairman (which was Rollison HVAC) called immediately and scheduled an appointment for the next morning. He came at the appointed time and it was a bearing in the motor. He replaced the motor and I paid the $65 service charge. I am a happy camper.
