    The warranty sounded good but the reps all talk fast, give different quotes...called 3 times and received three different quotes but the last rep told me 399 for the entire year and 85 service fee then he had me agree to 3 years and I said so that's 399 only, but I should have known when he wanted me to use a credit card. The rep took out over 1300 dollars from my account. The reps are all about quota instead of really helping and explaining things to customers. He did not say at one time we will deduct this amount from your account. He talked in codes and riddles to lead you to believe one things but it was a whole other thing. That is how they get ya to join with fast talking and getting you off the phone and once you become a customer then you will not even be able to get through.

    One rep hung up on me because I was asking too many questions. PPl should just sign up with their local plumbing company and they do checks for free and use those programs. The amount you pay a year and never use is a rip off especially when it's time to fix it. This is so not worth it. It would have been a great deal if I would have received some honesty and someone who cares about customers and making them feel comfortable, while asking questions, but no just double take from the account to make my quota. Thanks but no thanks.

    Our Whirlpool washer had not been functioning properly for a few weeks. It was reported to Choice and they sent a technician promptly. He replaced a part in it and it seemed to be working fine, but only lasted a couple of weeks before breaking down again. This time a new technician was sent and he diagnosed the problem immediately. The repairs would be too expensive and as a result the company decided to replace it by providing us with a fair market value for the washer. Thank you.

    AFTER 6 days of trying to reach CHW by phone and E-Mail, during 6 of the hottest days of May, I finally got through. My problem, I believe, was that I was using your phone "prompts" to initiate a follow-up from the previous visit to fix my A/C, INSTEAD of submitting a NEW claim. However, as soon as I reached CHW, I was impressed AGAIN that the response to get a service man out here was extremely fast.     I purchased my home warranty over the phone. The sales rep stated "If we can't fix your appliance we will replace it" when he should have stayed that limitations apply. So I purchased the home warranty expecting what I was sold, when in reality if they can't fix it they will pay you the wholesale price of a similar item (about fifty percent the true cost). I will never suggest anyone get a Choice Home Warranty. What they did to me is unethical. It's called a bait and switch.

I understand that you may use automated answering machines to help on several matters but when a customer needs to talk to a human being, you better offer that option.     The first technician from S & A Plumbing opened up the drainage lines but didn't bother to find out why it was happening so my mainline was clogged again within 36 hours. When the technician from Total Plumbing came out he went out of his way to find out why my drain line was clogging up. He went above and beyond anything that was required of him to track down the problem and then took the time to explain to me in detail what was happening and what needed to be done about it.     They sent one company that came out and said I had a leaky coil that would need replaced. I paid that service charge. They then canceled that company and sent a different company to put freon in the system and I paid another $85. The day after that service, the ac no longer works and I'll have to start another claim. Still hot in my kids rooms. So hot my daughter got up and threw up one morning. Unacceptable!

    I have found that CHOICE seems to look for ways to deny claims. Interestingly, they used the same reason on three of mine. On appeal, they use their own employees who are partial, not true mediators. I can’t even get an appointment for one appeal for another 6 days. They dragged their feet on my getting someone to service each of my claims, as well, even with them knowing I was my not able to shut off leaking water. The hoops I have had to go through in order to get my claims handled will have taken me so far up to two weeks on one and on another a week so far. I haven’t even heard about an appointment for an appeal on the third for which I made the claim over a week ago.

    All three claims have been denied which for them works conveniently when they delay having to resolve claims. Add to this, their having put off finding someone to service my claims. In my hopes of expediting things due to their not being in a hurry to find someone to do necessary emergency repairs, I used their out of network hiring offer. When I chose this option, I found they can conveniently use my technician's wording against my claims when he did not word or enter something properly due to his never having worked with this company before. (Could this be why another technician I tried to hire at first refused to take the job when he heard my warranty company was CHOICE?)

    My water is still dripping and the only person seeming to be concerned is myself, since I will be paying the huge water bill, not them. The only concern I see that CHOICE has had is in finding ways to avoid paying my claims. Apparently, I am not the only one with this experience as I see a thread running through these comments saying a similar thing as I. I also noticed how CHOICE comes behind these type dissatisfied comments with something like this, that they are working on this. Well, why is there still a similar thread running through, if they are working on the problem?

    There has been no peace of mind having CHOICE as my warranty company. I hired them as a senior on fixed income, now age 71, hoping CHOICE would do as they claim when they willingly took my fixed income money. I had hoped they would provide service to give me peace of mind in their helping with home repairs. I have had anything but peace of mind through this ordeal. Not only a lack of peace of mind have I had, but I have not had the ability to properly use my water in my home for over a week so far nor do I see this happening in the near future if it is up to CHOICE. Then, I have the concern for having to pay a large water bill.

    On Saturday May 1, 2021 I put a call into Choice Home Warranty regarding a leak I was experiencing that was coming from my living room ceiling. I was in the tub when it started and it became worse once I began to drain it. I called CHW and they said they would send out a technician. The tech called me the same day and came out the next day. When he came he had a small knife and a ladder. He first checked the bathroom pipes. He turned on my shower upstairs and let it run. He came downstairs and proceeded to cut through the ceiling but not where the giant water stain was, he cut just below it.

    He asked me if I had something to put down to cover my floor which I found odd because he appeared to not have any equipment with him. He looked in the ceiling but did not find the leak. He cut into the ceiling a little more and still did not find a leak nor any pipes. He went upstairs, sat on my toilet in the bathroom for about 20 minutes then came downstairs and told me my leak was due to water coming out of the back of my shower and onto the floor. It seemed plausible. But while the shower was running the water had not come pouring out like it had when I had taken a bath. He never checked the drain. So I helped him clean up the mess and he left.

    A few days later water starts pour from the ceiling again this time it was coming out next to the hole that was cut into the ceiling. I called CHW the following Saturday May 8th. They explained the same tech would be out to fix the problem and I would receive a call from him within 24 hours. That had not happened. So I waited until Monday, no call. I called CHW. They assured me the tech would call me within 24 hours. That had not happened. I called on Wednesday May 12 and asked, "Why is this taking so long?" and no one called or came by to assess and repair my plumbing. The Agent on the phone was rude and nasty. When I asked to speak to a supervisor he said I could not and did not schedule anyone to come out and repair my plumbing.

    I have a huge hole in my ceiling and I am unable to use my shower. I have not heard from anyone at CHW about my work request. They just don’t care! I wonder if I were their daughter or grandmother would they treat me in such a manner. There are so many other warranty companies I could have gone to but I chose them on a recommendation. Today is Thursday May 13, 2021 and I am still without the ability to use my shower and CHW has not called or come out. If this is the kind of service you give your clients I will recommend to all that they look somewhere else because this company is a ** show!

    Called for repair of my AC unit. Was told that my claim was denied initially because there was rust or corrosion on the unit. I had to go all the way through the appeals process before anyone would acknowledge that the technician's notes, nor the pictures he took, reflected anything about the unit having rust or corrosion. Then I was told that the reason for the denial was that even though there was no rust or corrosion, because the unit was not more than 6 years old, it must be a manufacturer defect and that wasn't covered either. I was also told that it wasn't just the technician's report that was considered, but a HVAC specialist with CHOICE who had not even examined my unit was the one to make the final determination and assessment on the claim. It would appear that CHOICE is refusing to accept the technician's report and devising an alternate reason to deny the claim.

    When I asked the appeal person if I could speak to a supervisor, they told me they were the last stop in addressing this matter and their decision was final. I have had two residences under policy with CHOICE for several years and find this experience frustrating and unfair. Not only does it appear that there has been arbitrary and vacillating reasons for the denial, but I had to spend hours of my time on hold and on the phone to get here. I will likely be closing my accounts.

    Today, I have been cut off twice by you while waiting to transfer a call. Three times the extension number I was given for Joshua, the case manager, said transfer failed. I am 76 and not good on computers. Joshua said to call if help needed. I’m simply fed up with your service. First, we waited and waited and an hour before the time window was up we get a call telling me we’re out of area and would have to pay $100 and it would be the next day before plumber could even come. Then Joshua told me to call a plumber and I did. I was told I’d get $175 towards the fee.

    The plumber had to turn in his paper work and when I called their office I was told it would be tomorrow afternoon before I could get the information about parts and costs. All I do know is that the hourly rate is $95. The plumber can’t do the form because he doesn’t set the bill. This is the first time I’ve called your company for help with a problem.     I think the technician was good and would rate him high but the whole process I would rate poorly. Everything started off fine then the AC company no showed us Thursday, Friday and Saturday. After making a couple of calls the technician finally showed up late on Saturday. At this point the AC had been out almost a week. Then the warranty did not cover the AC System only part of the system. Finally got the parts ordered and they could not come out until the following Friday after us waiting all day for him to show up and their office phone stated they were closed from 1pm on. Finally he called around 7pm and completed the work.

    The company I would rate 1 due to the lack of communication and rude staff. The technician I would rate 4 due to good work but from his car with limited tools that were not intended for the job at hand. Choice Warranty I would rate maybe a 3 due to the lack of coverage when the coverage states AC system and only covers part of the system.

    Having trouble with slow warm up and uneven baking. I thought that it is because some electric coils don't turn on on the top right side of the oven. The technician states that it is not supposed to, only on the left side. The coils there are used only to light the gas coming out of the dispenser pipe and that is where the oven heats.     Severely disappointed! We have Kitchenaid dishwasher, so it's a high end dishwasher. The part we needed to have replaced isn't available anymore. Took almost 2 months to get a "buy out" offer of $248. I can't buy a dishwasher for that! Nowhere in the policy does it say the replacement value is what Choice can replace the appliance for at wholesale prices, and not YOUR appliance, just a random dishwasher; however, that's what I'm told the replacement value is based on. I asked for replacement because buyout was so low and got told it's not an option. I asked what happens if we don't accept the $248 and got told if we don't accept it within 30 days, the case gets closed. Basically take it or get nothing. Not customer service at all!!!! Would NEVER recommend this company to anyone! We would have saved 2 months to replace it on our own without Choice and only paid $248 more. Seems like the better option to me.

    I needed the shower handle replaced as it broke. I called CHW. They sent someone and he came and said I need a new shower nozzle which I had to buy and provide. The shower was not fixed for 5 more day before he could get approved by chw and repair it. My water bill was over 60 dollars more because it took so long to get someone here. The repair itself was done excellent. CHW should have emergency contingency plans for their clients. Now my pool filter is leaking. Let's see how how this works out.

    On 12/25/2000 I placed a work order with CHW for a cooktop repair. The cooktop I have was manufactured in 1998 and so after 2 months, a CHW was unable to locate a part needed to repair this 22-year-old cooktop. They offered me a $371 check for the replacement of this cooktop and I told them this amount is too low since a comparable cooktop (the one that has 4 burners and a downdraft exhaust) costs $2,000, per this URL **. CHW rep told me that if I don’t accept this ridiculous offer they will continue looking for a part which meant that they would not be repairing the cooktop any time soon and I had to continue cooking on a single burner stove I bought at Target. I agreed to $371 reimbursement.

    Once I received this reimbursement, I contacted CHW to inform them that they are in violation of their own policy that states "We are responsible for installing replacement equipment of similar features, capacity, and efficiency." I ask that CHW reconsider the replacement reimbursement and send me a URL to the comparable cooktop that they identified (that is in full compliance with this policy).

    Cole from Bajack Plumbing tracked down and repaired the true source of our leak. I had originally mistaken it to be a main water line leak coming up from the floor, then I thought it was the water meter, but after repairs, I think that both are fine. There is a valve above the water meter that needed repaired. I did not see that and once repaired, everything seems to be dry. I will be watching it for a few days to be sure.

    One additional note... CHW sent email confirming time to arrive between 11 am and 3 pm on a Sunday. I contacted Bajack and left a message that I would not be home until after 1 pm due to Sunday church service. He never got the message and called me at church around 11 am to say he was on his way. I had left 2 messages to come after 1 pm, but he never got them. Result was he had to rearrange his schedule and mine and he arrived at 4:40 pm. This impacted my seeing my stepson and fiancé for Mother's Day dinner. I would suggest that the technicians always call and confirm appointments. Thank you.

    I have used Home Warranties on my rental houses for 10 years now. I was with Old republic for nine years. Never had a problem whatsoever. Elliot from Choice Warranty called me and convinced me to change companies and pay three years in advance that they would take care of me much better. So far I have had three claims, the first two claims one took over a month. Nothing could be fixed in a timely manner. The second one they had to come back two times. Still didn’t have the right part so both times I chose the option of being reimbursed and I had to drive two hours to come in town to take care of each one myself and spend more money which I would rather just had the appliances fixed. Now this third one I am being completely denied because choice warranty says my lines are rusted is why the Freon leaks and that’s the only way I can leak and I’ve had my AC man And your technician both disagree with you.

    I don’t know if I just have bad luck or what but I just wanted to be treated fair. I don’t care if I have to pay some of it out of pocket myself. I bought Home Warranty through you guys so I wouldn’t have to worry about these problems. But so far, my problems have been worse if I had to take care of them myself. I don’t need a home warranty company. I am very frustrated and I do not feel like I am treated fairly by Choice Home Warranty.

    I had Choice over 2 times for the same reason with my refrigerator. $65.00 service charge each time. Both times I got different reasons why the top shelf in the refrigerator was freezing my food. Each time it was fine for about 40 days then back to freezing and of course you only get a 30 day warranty. Then the food (eggs & carrots) on the 2nd shelf started freezing, when I called back they said another $65.00. Refrigerator is set at about 1 1/4- 1 1/2 on the dial. Passed and bought a new one. Other 2 times I had them out for my heater, blowing cold air, 2 different companies, 2 different reasons but prompt courteous service.

Recently a service given to me was not honored! Replace a appliance for near the cost! No way. I have three homes with this service! I will not renew! Any of these homes!!! Even their service folks tell you how bad their replacement is!!!

    I have a three years contract with Choice Home Warranty. I called them the very first time last year, June 2020 because my Frigidaire stated to warm up. The Frigidaire is about 12 years old, it includes water and ice dispenser. Choice Home warranty sent a tech that claim it may have a leak and he added gas to it. I contacted Choice home at the time and complained that adding gas it did not constitute a repair to me and I wanted it repaired. The technician returned to my house and told that the refrigerator is working and if anything call back. This month the refrigerator stated to malfunction, the same way it did before. I called Choice Home Warranty and they sent a tech. The tech came and without any testing look around and told me he couldn’t not work on it because sometimes was improperly installed by a third party and that my Frigidaire was roach infested.

    Choice Home warranty proceeded to deny my claim even after I told them that no other technician had worked in my refrigerator other than their technicians. They are telling me that I must get in touch with you technician that came. A company that came seven months ago to repair my refrigerator. I don’t know about anybody else out there but I would encourage you to not purchase warranty from Choice Home warranty!, A warranty may make you feel safe but not when they fail you when you need them the most. Please excuse my typos and bad grammar but I am mad and I want to sue them, If there is any way I can get into a lawsuit with them or anybody else I am down.
