    I switched from AHS to CHW a couple of years ago, due to the horrible customer service at AHS. I am sad to say CHW is NO better. This was my first claim with your company, and if you do not rectify the situation, it with probably be my last. The claim was for a simple leak on a hand held shower line, at the diverter, under the tub. A simple repair, but it was denied. Apparently the technician check "Little Corrosion" on the form, which was enough for you to deny it. I appealed it but haven't heard anything yet. In the Meantime I out my $40 a month for the last two years, and the $60 I paid the Plumber for the call, and STILL can't use my shower!!!! If you don't cover something as simple as this, what the hell do you cover? PATHETIC!!!

    So far I have had 3 claims and Choice has not paid for any of them. If something is not going to be covered, please tell me before the tech arrives.     The technician that I dealt with was great! Choice warranty gave me a run around and kept giving me different reasons my claim was not moving forward. After many phone calls and me being very persistent I am happy to report I got a new water heater installed today. Choice Warranty was difficult to deal with.     The situation with fixing my Air Conditioner has been an awful experience, How do you fix part of the problem and all that makes it work. One part cannot work without the other. A good faith company like Choice Warranty make choices to what they fix. I pay you every month. I do not use you every month but you still collect from me. What if it was where I paid you as I used you. You could not make money that way. Until you abide by your service to being fair, I feel you are using people for a profit. How can you call yourself a good faith company when your service is not reputable. Stand behind your so call good name and make it speak out for you through your customers. Without customers you cannot stay in business.

    Lawrence from BW Electric was excellent, very prompt and professional. My only complaint is with CHOICE. Lawrence checked two items to be fixed, you guys made me pay two deductibles, then promptly declined both claims even though they are standard wear and tear issues. I had to call in, then get directed to submit an email for reconsideration, attempted to call again and there’s no answering service set up, and now the earliest I can speak to a case manager is Monday. The plumbing company did send someone out that day only because I made a fuss about it. We purchased this insurance and have been very pleased until now. This claim should have been listed as priority in my opinion. They initially stated the earliest their technicians could come was Tuesday. Then, they said Sunday, maybe Saturday.     I'm thankful that Choice responded in a very timely manner, the Tech that came out was also great, but at the end of the day, my family and don't have hot water for a whole week, when situations like this happen, Choice should place them in an environment suitable to what they are living in until all repairs are done, this is bad, I have ladies staying here. Now I have an added expense to move them to a hotel until repairs are complete. Had I wrecked my car, my insurance company would place in a car until my repairs are completed.

    Updated on 06/03/2021: I would like to say that although I do not agree with Choice Homes decision to reject replacement of my Air conditioning Unit which quit, I do highly recommend the Service Technician who came to repair or recommend replacement of my unit. He was very prompt, knowledgeable, friendly, courteous and informative.

    Original Review: I was greatly disappointed that Choice Homes rejected my claim when my air conditioning quit through no fault of mine. It developed a leak of freon on a rusted coil. My A/C was housed in a closet inside a garage, not exposed to elements and the rust occurred inside the metal housing and behind insulation of the A/C unit. I had at least 5 or 6 repairman or annual service people looking at my system over the last 5 years and not one ever mentioned a rust problem. I always changed my filters faithfully.

    Choice Home stipulates in their fine print that they will not cover a rust problem. There is no way for me to have known about its existence, not sure it could even have been prevented. I took Choice Homes advertising campaign to Repair or Replace and their high rating to heart when I chose them for my insurance. I am 85 years old widow on a fixed income and having the insurance gave me peace of mind and my payments have been faithfully made based on their advertisements. Now I no longer trust them to take care of the problems that might come up with the appliances I insured with them. So beware that their rust policy covers all appliances including the ones that involve metal and water which are always going to have some rust over time.

    Very poor customer service department. They didn’t seem concerned with my situation whatsoever. Very long wait time for service. We had to go a week without hot water. I was told I would lose my current appointment if I wanted them to look for another contractor who could come out sooner & it may take longer for service. I was told a supervisor would call me back within 24 hours & I never received a call back. After my appointment, I was told I have to pay an additional $400 dollars. I called Choice hoping to get an explanation on the additional fees, but received no explanation. My water heater is in the garage, all the pipes are new, it should be a standard swap out & I can’t imagine why the additional fee!

    I could’ve bought a new water heater for $400 & swapped it out the next day if I knew this was going to be such a hassle. I had a warranty company with my last home & didn’t have any of these issues while dealing with them.     The technician from Good Hands Electric who came to service my claim was delightful, timely, respectful, efficient. He diagnosed the problem in my ceiling fan and said he would get approval to replace it. Everything after that has been a disappointment.     I did not know that Choice only paid for the primary component of a garage door opener. I did not know that they did not replace rollers and springs which are an essential part of the mechanism.     The plumber came to the home, he had to make 2-3 calls to get things that I needed for the repairs approved and all that took almost 2-3 hours.     After 2 claims, both of which were denied, I called to cancel renewal of the servicer. I don't need to pay almost $600 per year if I have to pay for the charges anyway.     Called Choice Home Warranty the end of November 2020, technician replaced 2 parts, noticed 3 weeks later it was leaking again. Due to quarantine couldn’t call again until first week of February, technician came a few days later, never submitted his diagnostics. Long story short, 31 May 21 and the problem from November hasn’t been corrected. Several appointments made and the technician never receive the work order when I call to confirm appointment. I call choice back and they reassign it to another technician, which takes several weeks. So I have paid 2 services fee ($85) and 6 months of service fee, yet the problem has not be resolved. I get the same story when I call Choice Warranty back on my furnace.

    I had an issue with my a/c. You sent a contractor that tried fixing but had no idea what he was doing. I told him it was working but took so long to cool. So he started taking all the electrical components and disconnecting them. I told him it was not electrical because the system was working just not cooling fast enough and it probably needed Freon. He came back 2-3 times. When he left the a/c was making loud noise and going off and on every 15 seconds, I called him and told him and he said Choice was not allowing him to come back.

    I called choice and they said that wasn’t the case and I have a determination letter of approval. This guy screwed my whole system and he had no idea how to fix so he told me choice told not to come which was a lie. This is not allowed on my property again. He was not a good contractor and had no idea of what to do. I think he just wanted to make it seem more than what it was and now I have no heat or a/c (same system). I also told him my wife has a medical problem that needs a/c and needed it to be fixed ASAP. I have a case manager Angela ** but haven’t spoke to her as of yet because this happened Friday afternoon and with holiday which I understand. Is taking longer than usual.     I was very dissatisfied with AM&PM Mechanical who was originally assigned to my issues. He took photos of the Hot Water Heater and the Leaking pipe and got it approved, but jerked me around in coming back to repair it - Lying to me the whole time. He was terminated by Choice after I called and complained and another company - Jade Home Remodeling was assigned. At the time of this assignment, the Choice Representative indicated that I would not be required to pay an additional Service Fee. The Jade technician did an excellent repair, but I was required to pay him a Service Fee. I feel Choice jerked me around on having to pay twice and assigning a unreliable firm in the beginning.
