    Thought I was responsible to get my own person for water heater but when service came they had both request. The garbage disposal was replaced, no problem, My water heater is quite old and cannot get parts for it, and the water is still hot some of the time, but not all of the time and cannot fill even a foot bath with hot water and is very inconsistent, so have to wait until it stops completely even though there are no part available to repair it.

    We were just denied a claim for our A/C. Experience over 11+ years with this company is consistent. Any small job is handled pretty well. The type a good handyman could do; we just don't have one in the house. Any major claims have quickly been denied. We have fought over a couple of them, and this company ends up paying for PART of the replacement costs. We are tired of fighting and went to an outside company to install our new A/C. We will NOT be renewing our contract with Choice Home Warranty.

    Every time I need to get someone here in a hurry it seems like you guys can never get anyone. I have better luck on my own getting a technician. I talked to a couple of Air Conditioner companies and they both said they would rather NOT deal with you because you take too long to pay them. What good is having a Home Warranty service if you aren't going to be fair to the companies you are dealing with? This isn't good customer service in my book and it tells me a lot about this company when I am talking to the service providers that are not wanting to deal with you. I had someone that you called to come here one time... another air conditioning problem and he said he would be back the next day to do a service on my air and he never showed up, called or anything. That tells me that you aren't dealing with reliable companies. All in all, I have not been very happy with Choice Home Warranty. I hope that changes in the future.

    When you sign up they tell you you're only going to have to pay a $65 service fee. When the technician related that I needed a new water heater, suddenly I was told I had to pay an additional $300 for "parts not included". Replacing should mean doing all that is needed to replace. Also, we had several days without hot water waiting for them to get someone out to check it.

    Very poor at covering claims. Unit has rust and corrosion and leaking Freon. The unit is 30 years old and it is due to normal wear and tear which they are supposed to cover. Very disappointed with the company and would not recommend them to anyone. Every technician I have had for other items say they are the worst company.

    Very disappointed in your decline of my problem. There are 1400 homes in my community. I know about 30.     On June 3, we awoke to find our home air conditioner not cooling. I filed a claim with CHW. It was not until June 7 that a tech was scheduled. That tech was a no call, no show. Repeated calls to him were fruitless. Repeated emails to CHW finally got a new vendor. That was for June 12. He did show and found a broken wire. He fixed that but did not check to see if it was cooling. It quit less than 24 hours later. He could not return for more than 2 weeks. Now, I have a new appointment for June 22, nearly 3 weeks since we had full time A/C. I DO NOT RECOMMEND CHW.

    Unfortunately we usually have a great experience with Choice Warranty, however our experience with Sassman Plumbing was awful. They came out to repair a drain clog. After two hours of opening up our pipes which resulted in sewer water in our kitchen, he determined there was nothing he could do, yet he left our kitchen filthy and smelling like sewer water. It was awful!!! If he knew he couldn't fix the problem, he shouldn't have continued to tinker and create an even larger issue for us to deal with. He also had the audacity to charge us the $85 fee even though he not only didn't fix our problem, but left us with a huge mess. Very, very disappointed!!

    This company is quick to set up a service tech. I have yet to have a claim approved. My refrigerator ice maker stopped working. I paid for the tech to come out. The claim was denied. "Mfg recall." Refrigerator not cooling down enough. Again paid for tech to come out. The tech said it was a defrost failure. Again denied. The tech himself said he has never seen this denied before. C.H.W said, "Sorry. This is mfg. defect, not covered." I am at a loss to know just what they will fix. My AC quit cooling. I paid for tech to come out. He said there is a freon leak. Once again denied. There are too many technicalities and so far nothing is repaired. It does not make any sense for me to keep paying for a service that can't repair my appliances.

    I had to have a plumber out to repair a link in the bathroom. The plumber had to cut a hole in the drywall below to find the link. The technicians did a good job but, I still had a hole in the drywall. The plumber said to contact CHW and they would provide assistance to have the drywall patched. I called customer service and I was not happy with the customer service agent. I explained to her that I was being asked to pay another deductible after I had already had paid the first deductible for the plumbing issue where the plumber had to cut the drywall. I feel the repair to the drywall was initiated by the first plumbing repair. Of course, I was told that CHW was not responsible and that the plumber would need to fix it. She said that it was a new claim and a new deductible would need to be paid. She didn't listen to me and I really felt rushed. She ended up hanging up on me. Not a good customer service experience.

    My Frigidaire ceramic cook top oven cannot be repaired so Choice Home Warranty has offered me a Lowe’s e-card in the amount of $455 to replace it however there aren’t any similar ovens for that amount. I just filed a claim for pool repair since I could not find a repair company. CHW offered to reimburse me if I got it repaired. Then CHW sked Roberts Legacy Pool & Spa, Kingston, OK. I got it repaired and cancelled the claim. The tech company wasn't notified I had cancelled. They showed up and I paid them the $65 fee. The crew tried to call CHW from my home without success. CHW owes me $65. I do not intend to renew my contract on 8/20/2021 because of the sloppy customer service. I am sure I will find a better warranty company.

Even though the replacement is going to cost me over $2300.00. The lady I was talking to (Ms. **) would not even contact the manufacturer to get the Cu. Ft. of the unit. I had to do it. Then after I got it she stated it wasn't enough. It had to be on company letterhead. I sent her the information on a Chat Conversation I had with Kenmore. I am very disappointed.     If I can make a helpful recommendation to Choice, it would be, clarify with your clients what repairs companies will need when they come to your home. If it is for A/C repairs, please ask if it is on the roof or ground. Is your home two story which requires a 30ft ladder. You scheduled two different companies last week to come out and neither of them had tall ladders. Consequently they both cancelled and we had to start over. The third company was one that had been here before and did the job.

    My suggestion would be: if the customer has had previous repairs, why not contact that same company to come and do the work as they obviously had the proper equipment to do the job. You would be doing these companies as well as the customer a favor in not wasting their time if they cannot do the job and stalling a customer. Prolonged delays in this Az heat of 115 plus last week is nothing short of being a bit cruel. I think with just a little more information taken by you at to particular needs such as length of ladders needed would greatly improve your quality of service.     I had a dryer that was serviced 3-4 times because it was no longer heating. They were unable to fix it and the service representative requested a replacement. Choice denied the claim, the reason stated: dryer improperly vented. My dryer was connected to the dryer vent built in the home to the laundry room location. The engineer plans were followed and the permits were approved. How could dryer be improperly vented? Choice has given a reason in every situation not to replace. They are also not supposed to charge a service fee within 90 days of the call for the same issue. They did. In the end I replaced it myself.     Plumber was responsive to our call to change the originally scheduled appointment due to a conflict on our end. When he arrived the next day, he was very responsive to my wife. Kept her informed of what he was finding. Confirmed our concerns with the plumbing. Explained in detail what the plumbing issues were and what the remedies that he was recommending.     My AC unit is cooling, there is still some water in the pan. The technician seem very knowledgeable, but she stayed on a personal phone call while working, therefore I didn’t feel she was giving her full attention to what she was doing. The AC unit pan had overflowed and leaked. I have water spots on my kitchen ceiling. I had to insist she make a note of that in her report, I hope she did. She also had a young guy with her. I ask if he was in training, she said he is my cousin. I am sure the technician is knowledgeable, but I just didn’t have a good feeling of professionalism on a very important job.

    Everything went smoothly until it was the time for choice to actually do something about my repair. As always they came up with extremely illogical excuse to do nothing about repairing my AC condenser. Every time you file a claim, Choice provides extremely annoying reasons not to pursue with the claim. Some gas is low on my condenser and it is not covered under. As a consumer how would I check the gas of any electrical equipment I have inherited with the house?

    Bought a house and needed to have it re-keyed. So the process of getting an appointment is all done online which is convenient. However, they do not let you select a time so I was given a 4 hour window during my work day. They NEVER came. So I called and I received and "oops our bad" ** apology. Now they did say this was on them not Choice. The locksmith comes the following day and all of a sudden my $65 re-key is now over $100. It's truly amazing all these "hidden fees" that you get hit with after a tech comes. So basically you are better off changing your locks yourself or calling a locksmith bc it is NOT $65. Really and guessing my 3 year contract when I get screwed over on the first call. AND YES PLEASE HAVE CUSTOMER SERVICE CALL ME BC AS A NEW CUSTOMER I DEFINITELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND CHOICE.

    Sounded good but wasn't total systems covered Not!! Could appeal denial of claim. That took 30 seconds on the phone. She told me the same thing problem not covered. So after 9 months 1 claim the money I spent on monthly payments and claim cost I could have made a deposit on a new AC, which I now have to do anyway. So I am not Happy!! So I would not recommend This service!!! They were no help to me so I don't need them!!!

    Updated on 6/21/2021: After 15 waiting for someone to respond to my claim, no one did. I suppose to have an appointment for today 06/21/2021 but that didn't happened. I called to cancel but they gave me the biggest runaround to get more time to keep me in the game. They asked the reasons why but they do not want to understand that for me the scam was over. I wouldn't take more excuses and more lies. I was promised an Cancelation email confirmation, that never happened. Still waiting for the email and they never returned my calls after. I am glad that I found out what big off the scam this Home Warranty is on time they only took me for two month. Choice Home Warranty to me is nothing more than a fraud.

    Original Review: Bought a policy base on the reviews...what a surprise I got when my AC started acting up and I have to file a claim. I filed a claim and for seven days total silence. Decided to call and found out that Choice don't have a clue who to call about my claim in the Jackson, Mi are. I got a company that handles claims for the competition and gave customers services their name and number. Supposedly on 06/21/21 an appointment was setup to come to my house. 15 days to get technical support but only after I gave them where to call. I was under the impression that they have a large list of companies ready to help the customers (big lie).

    Also customer services give me excuses after excuses, promises, lies and more excuses. Today I was told that I can't talk to a solution supervisor (EMILIO) that yesterday promised me that I going to get a call about said claim (never happened) and the only thing I can do is wait (shut up and don't call any more was the message I got). Maybe June 21 2021 I get something done...Do I believe it...I don't think so. This people has no respect for customer. One thing is what they advertise and another is what they do. Choice Home Warranty was a very bad choice for me.

    Filed claim with warranty company for A/C not working, the next day they scheduled a repairman to come out the day after that, so now 2 days w/o air in 90°. The scheduled repairman did not show up and when I contacted them they stated I wasn't even on the schedule. Contacted CHW and they hemmed and hawed a bit and then stated that they would attempt to get a different vendor and would waive service charge.

    The next day, with no vendor accepting the work, I received an email that stated I could contact my own vendor and then submit for reimbursement. What they fail to tell you is that there are a lot of hoops to jump thru if you choose this option. We then proceeded to jump thru said hoops, which are detailed and ridiculous, waited for an additional 24hrs to make repair so we could get approval from CHW for diagnosed repair, they declined to pay for repair, because they stated we repaired before approval. We forced our children and animals to sit in a sweltering home waiting for approval and they didn't give it. I could not be more unhappy with how this entire situation played out, cost me $1000 and an additional 3 days of sweltering heat to learn that Choice Home Warranty is useless and acts in bad faith!

    When I called to get my ac's fan fixed at first the phone worker wanted to send an electrician to fix my ceiling fan! Tech missed first appt. No call. Finally came out. Said my compressor's motor was bad. Would most likely get the ok on Mon and be out Thur to fix it. Received the ok on Mon. Never heard from him again. I have been jumping through hoops since then. Because of my health I have had to leave my home due to heat. It has been 3 wk since this has started. Still no word from tech and we call him 3-8 times a day. No answer. Choice just says, "Sorry.     I submitted a claim for our air conditioner not working on Sunday 6/13/21. The next day I get an email stating that they could not find someone, and that I am free to get my own company to come in, and then get reimbursed. That is definitely not my responsibility, that is why we have this coverage. I called and spoke to a representative yesterday, and he said that I would hear from someone by last night. Here we are 4:35 on Tuesday, and still no word about anything. We have had this coverage for a year now and this is the first claim. It kind of scares me if this is the way you guys do business.     When I purchased this policy instead of the usual company I use I was assured that it would work at my home in rural Maine. When my heat went out they couldn't find anybody who could come do the work and I couldn't find anybody either and they wouldn't provide me a list so I could make calls myself. I had to move out of the home and stay somewhere else because you can't stay in a home in Northern Maine without any heat. Then they had the nerve to call me to ask me if I wanted to renew and I said, "I would if you could give me a list of the companies you use," but they would not. I would not use this company. I would suggest you use any other warranty company.
