    The first tech that was supposed to be dispatched out was a no call no show for 2 days in a row (lost 2 days of work since I need to be there during diagnosis). When the tech company changed they were very nice - in and out in under 30 minutes. The amount the company offered to replace microwave came in at less than half of the actual cost - there is also a flaw in the contract which allows you to not pay for installation if you do a cash out. Cash out replaces cost to replace or replacement but there is a separate section which says you are required to pay for install (and you did not include a void or null clause if you do the cash out option - very frustrating since I’m out of pocket that expense).

    The price they offered was $250 since they found a microwave ON SALE for a limited time for $370. I’m not sure what your “actual costs” are exactly..but it’s hard to believe that your actual cost is around 40% LOWER than a sale item. It would have been nice if you explain in the contract what your actual cost is - but it is unreasonable to be that much lower than a sale item which forces the consumer's hand into buying it prior to receiving the check in the mail since when the check arrives the sale will no longer be valid.

    Spoke to customer service once - very nice woman who was helpful. However they were unable to go up on the price. We had a top end gold edition microwave and they only covered enough money for a “similar featured one” - which is reasonable - but when I can find at least 5 features that are missing (including wattage not being the same - 10% off current wattage) it’s unreasonable and not a reasonable expectation that it is a matching microwave. They also tried to force a Lowe’s gift card on me instead of Cash - which also forces the consumer's hand to shop at one place - I was not offered a cash option until I fully read the contract and asked for it.

    All together I'd rate the company a 4/10. From the less than half replacement cost (my cost plus installation which was over $500. I even bought the exact microwave they compared mine to) - to the first techs not showing up 2 days in a row (despite calling them multiple times on every number they had to confirm they were going to show up).

    Everything we put a claim in for is a fight! My contract says they cover all electrical issues yet I have a claim in and they won’t cover anything? Plus they raised my monthly fee and visit fees without telling me! I complained and they brought it back down but then I had to prove that to the electrician whose computer said the higher price! We are definitely looking elsewhere if they don’t help us

Do not know if the third try will work, will have to wait and see if blockage occurs again, one to three months, has been time between occurrences.     Totally stopped working for 48 hours in 90+ heat. Put white vinegar in condensation tube every 30 days and change air filter once a month. Hadn’t vacuumed out outside of condensation tube for about 9 months. That was the problem. After I unclogged it, all was fine. I then cancelled my technician appointment. They were understanding and very nice. My dealing with CHW would have been better if I could have talked to a live human. I have never text, facebooked, tweeted, etc. The first review CHW sent me required I send it through Facebook or Google. I don’t do either.

    Denied repair of refrigerator because I had only had the plan for a month. They think my refrigerator was already broken when I got the plan 5/6.     Our AC broke down and the technician who came to visit diagnosed it as damper issue. While 2 other technicians identified the root cause as evaporator coil issue. No response for 2 weeks. When we got our system replaced and asked for refund policy came into play..upgrade was not approved. Don't recommend these guys to any customer. They want your money and won't show up when you need them the most. God bless these guys.

    What is the purpose in having you if you're going to say that my sprinkler pipe was broken before I signed up with you guys? That was a bit rude!     My claim was denied. If Air Conditioner is listed as a covered item, but was denied because a hole in the copper line released all of the Freon, is stupid. It wouldn’t be an air conditioner if it doesn’t have Freon. It is absolutely a working part of the air conditioning unit. Always a loophole to keep from paying the claim.

    After 8 years of normal wear and tear on dishwasher door, the spring broke. CHW said that is not normal wear and tear. It was slammed. No it was not broke opening the door. Not shutting the door.     Fair and accurate with my comments, you bet! When you have an emergency, Choice drops the ball. Takes them 3 to 4 days to get someone out to the house in an emergency. They should allow you to get your own provider and get something fixed and reimburse you. Then a majority of the time, they don't even allow your claim. My suggestion is, do not ever buy a home warranty, set aside funds every month and handle issues yourself. It will be a heck of a lot less stress!

    The issue I have is having clarity of what I’m actually paying for with CHW. From the advertisement online the warranty covers normal wear and tear and parts. My unit was over 12 yrs old and the part I needed to repair it was not covered so I was left with no other alternative but to purchase a new unit out of pocket. The only thing I can say that CHW helps with is the service calls. I only paid $60. Other than that what’s the benefit of having it. On the other hand, the HVAC company (Aire Serv) did a fantastic job of providing the service we needed in replacing our unit and helping us diagnose the issues we were having with our old unit.

    It is ridiculous that there is an additional fee because the item is covered under manufacturer's warranty.     My washer was down from 6/15 till today 6/25, till today there is no clue on the ETA when it will be fixed. They say they want to get an update from the technician. I created the case on 6/15, the technician visits us on 6/16, he recommends it is tough to fix and hard to get the parts. He explained that the ideal situation is to replace the washer and he sends the pictures to CHW. CHW comes back and says to fix the repair and not to replace the washer. That is fine but they approved the repair to the technician on 6/21. To make the approval it took 5 days. After that it 5 days still I didn't get any update. Considering the situation I proposed a solution they didn't buy in the situation, they focus only on their profit. I am a customer of them for more than 3 years. I have 4 claims till now and face the same issue in each claim.

    I have had two technicians come out. One said the dishwasher should replaced and the second said it needed a Sump Pump and seal replaces. He said would call and make an appointment to come out and fix it. Then I get email saying CHW will give me a check of $236 to replace a $1400 dishwasher. Yesterday I talked with a claims manager and said she would give $357 to get new dishwasher or to have someone come out and fix it. I paid over $2000 to CHW and had nothing but hassles the two times I have had claims in 9 years. I want my dishwasher fixed or replace! End of story.

    My ceiling fan stopped operating so I called to report that defect ceiling fan. I reported on a recorded phone line that worked very easily and received an email with a company to address my concern. After receiving a call from the contractor I describing my issue she requested the fan type, which was a Fanimation Studio. Model slinger V2 72 inch. Her reply was this fan was not cover under this policy, that this fan was too expensive. They only would be able to replace with a model that was a builder's model only. To be very short I was disappointed after buying this coverage for the next 2 1/2 years, and this is the first request for service and was told it was not covered.

    Applied for a Claim on 6/23/2021. The issue was an inoperative Air Conditioner. The condition was discovered by J&D Heating, Cooling & Water. On the 6/21/2021 we discovered that our Air Conditioner wasn't responding to inputs from the thermostat. I called several Maintenance organizations and no one was available to do an inspection for 3 to 4 weeks due to heavy workloads.

    On the 6/22 was able to get J&D to do an inspection. It was then that we were informed that the Air conditioner was in need of some parts. I informed the company that I would like to discuss the issue with Choice Home Warranty as I have been a customer with them for many years and had multiple Contracts with them. They agreed. I called CHW and received a Claim# and was informed that they would attempt to get a technician scheduled. They also informed me that I could use my own technician and get reimbursement with the proper documentation submitted.

    With the extreme forecast predicted for the next 10 days or so It was imperative to get the repair done as soon as possible. As I had not heard anything from CHW by 7 AM the next morning I proceeded to employed my own Technician and apply for reimbursement. I called the company that had completed the inspection on the 22nd and asked if they would accept the job. They agreed and I then attempted to notified CHW via the process that had been e-mailed to me. It refused to accept my request. Stating that I had not followed the appropriate procedures for the reimbursement process.

    I reached out to you last year because it was making noises. The tech said it was going out but you would not fix it until it does. Well it went out this year. I contacted you and you sent out Air Generation. They were great. They said as long as you approved it he could get it fixed by the weekend. You sent me an email Thursday morning saying it’s approved. It wasn’t. You send me another one Friday saying it was approved and it was. Contact my tech and he said they should get the part ordered and as soon as he has them he could replace it. You ordered the part late Friday. The tech could not get them until Monday only to realize you had not ordered everything. So Tuesday he finally gets everything in and comes and replaces my unit.

    I live in Texas. You should have replaced it last year when it was starting to go bad. You should also take into consideration where your clients live. It was literally over 90 degrees in my house for a full week. That is dangerous and irresponsible of you to not address this in an urgent matter. If I lived in Alaska and it 60 degrees this wouldn't have been so dangerous for the health and well-being of my family.

    I’m truly disappointed in a warranty program that was highly advertised as being “the best” and certainly, in my opinion and experience has not been very good. Customer Service folks are wonderful. However, the time frame between a reported claim and final resolution with the repair of an appliance is much too long. Also, I was led to believe when I purchased this warranty that Choice would either pay for repairs or replace the appliance. However, I soon learned that if replacement is required, less than half the cost of replacement is offered. Therefore, in addition to the original 75.00 fee, the out of pocket price difference and the payment to a reputable technician to install the new appliance outweighs the benefit your plan offers. We are highly disappointed!
