    The technician was timely and effective at their work. No complaints with them, only praise. However, Choice Home Warranty's service has been a terrible experience (quite possibly the worst I've ever experienced). My claim was immediately denied. After talking on the phone to appeal my claim, I was repeatedly told the same information, and only the same information. It was as though I was talking with a brick wall. Overall I have felt cheated/rigged by Choice Home Warranty's contract. Specifically, by the following phrase under Coverage "... Known or unknown pre-existing conditions are not covered." It is as though any claim I (or another homeowner) would write up can/will be denied. I plan to switch companies.

While I appreciate his effort, I do not know that I will be around to use it in six years and I can not afford that cost.     I had a repair done on my underground water pipes which caused dirt to get in the line which clogged my kitchen and laundry room hot water faucets. My claim was denied because the clog happened only two weeks after the Choice Home Warranty coverage went into effect. However, when dirt gets into the line it can happen at any time. It only takes a few seconds to dirt to get from the point of repair to the faucet that it clogs. I was told many items including Faucets were covered when choice wanted to sell me a policy but when I filed a claim I was told that the things they told me were covered are not covered. I did not check Choice’s reviews before purchasing the policy but a brief research showed 7,606 BBB complaints. I purchased my policy on 5/21/2021 and it went into effect went into effect on 6/21/2021. I filed my claim on July 1, 2021.

    This is Choice’s reason for denial of my claim. “It has been determined the plumbing system has a damaged kitchen faucet and a damaged laundry faucet. Under normal wear and tear conditions this failure takes time to occur and cannot develop within commencement of the policy.” Further, Choice has an appeal process that is one sided and reviewed and ruled upon only by their paid employees.

    My experience with the claims department has been a problem. I had my dishwasher repaired only to wait 3 months to complete. The technician were well qualified and professional but there was poor communication between the service company and Choice claims department. I was told by the claims department to resubmit the claim for my dishwasher repair and pay another service fee of $60. They paid the additional service charge and 3 weeks later the unit was repair. The repair company I would recommend but choice warranty department handled the claim poorly. The claims department said my second service call would be credited to my account and used for a future claim.

    I requested a claim for my ceiling fan and mentioned the $60 credit on my account and was told there was no such credit. Then I was told my service charge increased to $85 per service call which was not to be increased on my original service contact. I am disappointed in the way my claim were handled and for the misleading statements on the service charge credit and the time to repair the dishwasher. The difficulties to reach a supervisor to settle this matter can never be obtained only to be placed on hold never to be connected. I would like to continue my warranty plan with choice but need some assistance on way. I am having a poor response on my claims. I believe choice will rectify this problem if is handled by a supervisor from customer service.

    The first time I called the lady put down that I had a leak in my washer and noise. They sent a guy to fix my washer, I told the technician that nothing was wrong with my washer, he didn't do anything but that was $85. He said I needed a plumber, I paid another $85 to the plumber.     Icy garage door opener stop working, I request the service, they assign a technician who supposed to come in 3 days, on the day of appointment technician informed me that there is no availability for another two weeks, I ask them then why they took the appointment, they said Choice Home Warranty just put them on schedule without their knowledge, I called back choice, they scheduled me another technician which came after 10 days, Overall it took 12 days someone to come and resolve the issue. It seems the CSR team is outsourced and needs training. The automated after hours phone system is flawed and incorrectly enters data w no means to change it.     I have been a member of Choice Warranty for a few years now, and although they are quick to respond I have been disappointed in their latest actions regarding a claim on my LG refrigerator. Although the fridge falls under the warranty they refused to fix an ongoing issue we have been having with the fridge. We had to pay for a technician to come diagnose the problem just for choice to say they will not fix it so we're out the $65 dollars for no reason. Again, their responsiveness is okay but their unwillingness to help long term members is unsatisfactory.

    I called in to see if we were covered with a leak in our ceiling. I had told the young lady that we had a leak in our sitting room ceiling and we believed that with all the heavy rain and wind that it was quite possible that a few shingles on the roof might have lifted up and caused a small leak in the sitting room. She came back and said yes we were covered and gave me a claim number and she would put in for a repair and I would get an e-mail today to set up an appointment and when they came they would charge me $85.

    I did receive that message but it was from a plumber and I knew that was wrong and I explain this was not a plumbing issue and they told me to call home warranty and tell them because had they came out I would have been charged the $85 for nothing and she said they would also call Home Choice and cancel the appointment. I did call and cancel as well. I don't understand why I was not covered when the leak opened our ceiling a small opening and caused damage.

    My experience with Choice Home Warranty was horrible. They sold me a policy based on how quick they would get a contractor to help us up. Our AC went out on Jan 2nd (control board on furnace was defective). We called them and they promised they’d get us someone in 24 hours. Unfortunately, they did not call us back. My wife kept calling back and finally after 24 hours, they told my wife for us to hire our own contractor, which we then did. We submitted all the requested documentation to get our invoice reimbursed but they denied the claim. Their customer service is horrible. They were of no help, and in my opinion, not at all worth buying a home warranty policy from.

    Air went out July 4th around 10:30 PM. Didn't realize until the following afternoon when the house started getting warmer. Submitted a claim and then had to wait as house was getting hotter. After 7 hours, you get an email letting you choose your own contractor but that was around 9:00 PM when it was too late to contact anyone. Had to spend a night in a house with 82 degree internal temp, which included two children and a dog. It was pretty miserable. The repair cost a total of $100 and was fixed within 20 minutes of the phone call. Some items such as heat and air should be handled quicker than others. We could have had this fixed the day we reported it if there were less stringent guidelines.

    When we purchase the warranty I was told that all parts were covered. Now you all say you can't replace the door gasket seal. We are very disappointed and dissatisfied. Due to what we were told when we purchased the warranty and now what we are being told. I would not purchased another warranty from you all neither would I recommend you all to anyone.     1. Shower head 7/8/20 - Took over 1 month to complete.
    2. A.C. Claim #**. Did not cover - We had to put out over $430 to fix.

    3. Refrigerator - Claim #** - No-show from technician and CHW office also did not call back after I spoke to office and told them the tech did not show.

    My water company advises me that I've got a water leak. They sent a tech with a leak detector and advised that the leak is beyond where the water enters my home. I've made a thorough search inside my home, including my attic and outside, including my pool...I have no obvious leak. I called CHW and followed procedure. You advised me that the subject company would be at my home, Tuesday, 7/6/2021, between 3PM - 8PM... They were a NO SHOW and did not call. I called them at 4:30PM and received a recorded message. It said, "leave a message & they would call back." At the end of this message, It said that they could not receive any more messages as their message box was full...I will call you Wednesday, AM....Don't call them before I call you.

    DO YOUR HOMEWORK!** DO NOT USE**. First, DO NOT USE THIS HOME WARRANTY! BEWARE! STAY AWAY. On their site it says "Electrical: ✓" and that is it. But yet they don't cover MOST electrical issues. We had flickering lights and utility room that kept throwing a breaker. We put in a request through Choice Warranty for a tech to come out to resolve the issue. We paid the $65 fee and Choice sent out someone from BW Electric. When the guy arrived he stated our breaker #18 needed to be repaired, he also stated the light in the recessed housing was bad. He said he would see if Choice would allow him to replace. The tech came out a week later and was not allowed to replace the light and housing. He did however fix the breaker.

    A week went by and the breaker kept tripping. He came out and told us he would most likely need to do a Wire Trace as the outlets and everything looked fine. He said Choice would probably not cover it but I could see if they would. I contacted Choice and they said "Per D#7 we do not cover Wire Tracing". I don't know where D#7 is, nor is it listed anywhere on their site or the Home Warranty we signed but apparently they don't do Wire Tracing even tho their page continually says "Electrical: ✓". Well wire tracing = electrical. Furthermore, the Light & The housing issue = Electrical.

    Long story short, they don't cover electrical issues as we're still having them and Choice now says they won't cover it even tho we have 2 months left on our Warranty. Well writing this they sent me what they cover, which is honestly not much under "electrical" and this was not outlined PRIOR to signing up for the Warranty. What a WASTE OF MONEY. They say they cover Electrical, but you read the TOS and it covers almost nothing. And you don't find this out until after you get the Warranty.

    Per their Terms of Service: "All components and parts, except: EXCLUDED: Fixtures - Carbon monoxide alarms, smoke detectors, detectors or related systems - Intercoms and door bell systems associated with intercoms - Inadequate wiring capacity - Solar power systems and panels - Solar Components - Energy Management Systems - Direct current (D.C.) wiring or components - Commercial grade equipment - Auxiliary or sub-panels - Broken and/or severed wires - Rerunning of new wiring for broken wires - Wire tracing - Damages due to power failure or surge - Circuit Overload. With respect to concrete covered, embedded, encased, or otherwise inaccessible electrical, We will pay not more than $500 per contract term for access, diagnosis and repair or replacement."

    We contacted Choice on Sunday July 4 for a emergency. We had to turn water off due to the cut off valve on toilet breaking off. Was told they have 24 hours to find a plumber even with an emergency. They did send a reimbursement request, we had already contacted a plumber could not wait 24 hours. The plumber came fixed the problem but was not interested in filling out the paperwork required for us to get reimbursed but the plumber was great, arrived at our home a little earlier than our appointment and did not charge a emergency rate.     Air Condition stopped working from 07/04/2021 and I submitted the claim which is claim number **. CHW sent the technician from AV&E Air Conditioning Service to diagnose the problem. The technician told me that air condition was old and it's normal wear and tear and there was nothing I could have done to prevent it. But CHW denied the claim.     The following occurred yesterday July 3rd. A supervisor from Choice was supposed to contact me based on my call to customer service and he did not. The rep told me I would get a call from him within 1/2 hour. The denial of my claim was false as shown to me by the person from the repair company. His report to Choice did not show any issues for the denial. This is the first time I have ever had a problem with Choice in the many years I have had contracts.     I had a claim for a dishwasher (claim # **). The technician reported that it is less expensive to get a new one than to repair the current one. I received an email from CHW indicating that they will pay us $246 to get a new dishwasher. Even though there is NO new dishwasher for that price, we accepted the offer. The surprising thing was that CHW decided to go green and stopped sending checks for the amounts we agreed about. Instead they will send something in the email as a credit at Lowe's Home Improvement to get the new dishwasher and we will receive that credit within 30 days. CHW made it much harder to get the broken appliance replaced for the following reasons:

    * If we were expecting a check as before, we would have bought a dishwasher knowing that we will get the money within 30 days.
    * Now we have to wait until we get the voucher to use it. I can't imagine if we are dealing with buying a refrigerator or HVAC. How can anyone wait 30 days without fridge or HVAC.

    * We have to buy from Lowe's even if we find a better price somewhere else.

    Why did you make it harder on us? Please cancel the "Go Green" decision. Thanks,.
