    Our air conditioner unit stopped working and it was extremely hot outside. They were able to get a technician to the house the next day to quickly fixed it.     On July 4th I placed a claim to have my A/C repaired. A tech came out on July 6th or 7th said that my compressor was gone and filed a claim.The very next day I received an email that said I was going to have an out of pocket cost of over $1400.00 and if I wanted to know why the I was to decline the charges and I would then be assigned a case Mgr. Well I got 3 of them. I spoke to a Jade person. She explained the cost. I said fine then gave payment information that day 7/9/21. On 7/12/21 I got a call from Andrew wanting to discuss my claim. I advised him that I had spoken to Jade and gave her payment information. He confirmed this fact and said that my claim was going to be processed that day.

    As of today 7/13/21 I am still without my A/C and it appears that Choice Home Warranty can't deliver on their PROMISE for DISCOUNTED prices. I was told that the repair company has to order parts and that my OUT of POCKET cost was going to INCREASE. WTF? I've really got to reconsider continuing to pay for this service. Especially when there are so many more companies out there.

    I've been with this Company for years. Some of my work orders have been resolved with fairness and satisfaction. But some Work orders were unfair, and brought shady people into my home. I think one reason I'm leery about CHW is technicians would tell me that the company (CHW) tries to get out of a repair by saying It has not been initiated with a warranty when it was purchased ie: HEATING/AC or other loopholes. Hearing this would put a very bad taste in my mouth! I slept with a renew self person Andre I believe from New Jersey. He said these things have been changed and improved due to bad customer service and technician reviews, So I will renew my membership under the understanding that a new CEO has been added and he/she is working to improve customer support and the quality of the technicians they hire to come into my home.

    The appointment was set up for the week after we contacted (CHW). The first contractor set up to help us was extremely hard to contact. They had issues and canceled the appointment. Then we called (CHW) to set up another contractor. They then sent us an email telling us we the had to set up a new contractor because the first one had to cancel. Which is why we called in the first place. We set up the new contractor. Which by the way was very helpful and convenient to contact. They weren’t able to move us to the front of their list which I understand but (CHW) could try to find a more convenient contractor for the wait they put us through. But the second contractor is very highly recommendable in my opinion. They were able to move the appointment up by one day and went above my expectations.

    When using Choice Warranty, the technician that came to my house was very professional and knowledgeable and I would rate him as a nine. However, my experience with Choice Warranty customer service and Sears Customer Service, I would rate it a 2. You are limited to the information you can get on the Choice Warranty website and if you decide to call expect to spend half your day on the phone and get nowhere.

    My first appointment on June 1, 2021, was a great experience, but the technician does not carry parts to complete the repair and had to order them. It took a month for the refrigerator repair parts to arrive at my house. The technicians informed my mother that he would return on June 28, 2021, to finish the repair. I was not pleased with my refrigerator not producing water, ice, or maintaining the level of cold to keep food from spoiling. Good thing that I have a spare refrigerator in my sunroom area for the 4 adults and 2 toddlers that live in my house.

    When I received an email stating the follow-up appointment had been moved to July 7, 2021, I attempted to contact Choice Warranty's customer service which gave me a boilerplate response of we will contact Sears repair and have them contact you. The contact ended up being a text with the appointment date. I attempted to call Sears directly and you are routed to an automated system. I never did reach a person at Sears to speak with. I did go to their online system and requested a soon repair date, but that did not work.

    I communicated with online assistance through chat, who stated they would into matters for me, but again no live person, and nothing changed. I called Choice again during my vacation time in Mississippi and after getting nowhere with customer service, I requested a manager to call me and was assured they would have someone call. It is now July 13, 2021, and have yet to hear from either Choice or Sears other than follow-up emails requesting my experience rating or recommending them to family and friends (really!!!!).

    I did my research before choosing Choice Warranty and had great experiences with plumbing issues, but this refrigerator deal is a nightmare. Oh! I forgot to mention this is the third repair on my Kenmore Elite refrigerator that I have owned in 5 years. There is now a class-action lawsuit against LG (the manufacturer) for faulty parts on this model. My research did not pay off on the refrigerator. I will never knowingly purchase an LG or Kenmore product again. What a shame since I believed in Kenmore appliances for 20+ years. So long story short, your experience with Choice is only as good as the repair company because Choice is only a call center with no power to please the customer.

    I submitted a request on 7/11 for info about your services and a guy called me within minutes...expected.     I had an issue with my hot water tank. It completely went out. CHW was not able to get a technician out to me. I was without hot water for 4 days. I was advised by CHW to contact someone to come out and fix it. You did approve the services but not all that was needing to be done. The technician seemed to care more for my health than the Authorization department did. I was advised by technician my fluke had a hole and was leaking carbonation and it's nothing to play around with.     There were 2 issues:
    1. The technician sent initially by Choice was a fraud. He lied that he inspected the outside AC unit and told us that there was an issue with the capacitor.

    2. I had to arrange a different technician to come in. His diagnosis was that there was a problem with HVAC blower wheel due to normal wear and tear and his recommendation was to replace the blower wheel. I submitted the reimbursement request and Choice denied the claim saying that the blower wheel failure was denied.

    I have a sewage pipe that is cracked IN MY HOUSE, IN THE BASEMENT. Because the repairman must jackhammer a piece of pipe out of the concrete foundation, Choice has refused to pay for the repair claiming the repair is a "leak in the slab". Firstly, it is not the slab as the slab is the concrete on the floor and secondly, the pipe which is cracked is in the confines of the basement and not in the concrete wall! They are looking for a way NOT TO PAY MY CLAIM!! Not that this review will ever see the light of day on the internet as I am sure Choice doesn't want anyone to see this.

    I have a policy with this company for repair of my major appliances. With my last 2 claims they have refused to address the problem and flat out refused to honor their own contract! 1st issue: My refrigerator started making an occasional loud noise. I called it in and they sent a tech, who said this is an indication of a compressor that’s beginning to fail. According to CHW, if the compressor hasn’t failed yet, they will not fix it because they feel that it’s not broken and works fine.

    A month after the tech left, the noise became louder and constant, measuring at around 60 decibels. The fridge sounds like a plane getting ready for take off. However, it still hasn’t STOPPED working completely. Their response is to have another tech come in for a 2nd opinion and for me to pay a 2nd diagnosis fee (for the problem that has not gone away, but only got worse), but they still will not fix it if the fridge is still cooling. Unlike other appliances, where noise coverage was excluded, it is NOT excluded from refrigerators. Yet they still insist that it is not something they cover.

    I have begun documenting the noise levels in my kitchen/family room with a NIOSH noise level meter and video recordings. If they don’t address this issue and resolve it, I will have plenty of materials to sue them for negligence, loss of food (once it breaks down completely and it takes them a week or more to send someone to fix it), and lastly for hearing loss and aggravation. I paid for my service contract with CHW for 6 years in advance. I have 2 more years left on my contract and they apparently don’t have any inclinations of holding up their end of it.

    2nd claim was a few weeks later, when my dishwasher suddenly stopped a few minutes into any cycle, and would not continue. If I would restart it, the machine just shut down completely. Their tech came a week after my call; diagnosed the problem with a need to replace 2 parts. CHW said they approved the repair but only sent 1 of the 2 parts for the follow up visit, saying the tech never requested the 2nd part. I then had to fight with them to get the 2nd part approved, which they actually said they ordered. Then a couple of days later, CHW turns around and says, “Good news! We are going to replace your dishwasher!”, and offered me $246 for a replacement of a $1200 appliance. Their contract states that if they cannot fix an appliance or find that it’s cheaper to replace it, then they will do so with an equivalent model to the one I had. Today, the equivalent model costs $1000.

    After weeks of arguments, they have agreed to increase my reimbursement amount to $591, and said it would take them 30 days to have that sent to me. So again, they are not honoring the contract and I now have to dish out more money for the appliance they are supposed to cover. They seem to be trying to get out of this contract knowing that they are losing money on it. But this is not my problem. This is how insurance policies work; I am paying them in the hopes that they will cover all excessive repair/replacement costs, and they are selling their policies hoping that none of my appliance will break. They just lost on this one but refusing to honor their side. I hope that someone will read this and help me resolve these multiple issues with CHW before I need to take them to the press and to court.

    A/C stopped on Friday night. Claim was submitted on Saturday morning. I advised that temperatures would be over 115 degrees for the next few days. Waited all day on Saturday and no vendor was assigned. I once again advised that the temperatures inside the home were unbearable. Later, I received an email that I could elect to get my own AC service to do the work. I reached a company and was told that they would be out by 10 AM on Sunday. The temperature inside the home was at 96 degrees and so unbearable that it was not possible to even sleep.

    The AC service person came as scheduled, diagnosed the situation and recommended changing the condenser. I immediately started to get the paperwork handled to get the work approved before he made the repair. Not being good at doing things on the computer, it took me 1.5 hours to figure out how to attach the pictures from my phone. I advised that in an emergency situation like this was should have a simpler procedure to expedite the repair since it was clearly a danger to have had to wait for what seemed to be a simple repair. I hope management will take this to heart.

    Choice Home Warranty does not live up… Choice home warranty does not live up to the service agreement when it comes to HVAC. They will find any way possible to weasel out of taking care of business. They will request trying to use another HVAC Company but they want you to foot the bill. They're famous for saying that it is not a mechanical malfunction, even when the HVAC Company that they sent Say your system is dead. If I had to do it again I would avoid choice at all cost, they will take your money and on all the other cases it Took weeks to get my dryer repaired, etc, now the tech will respond quick but if there is a part or something it is a waiting game. One of the worst decisions I have made in my life, just one big rip off.

    I've had a contract with CHW since 2019 and, for the most part, have found them reasonable and dependable to send professional technicians in response to claims. However, they recently determined NOT to repair my a/c unit based on "...Evaporator coils that leak have been exposed to corrosion or acidic materials that have infiltrated the air stream and air flow throughout the house and have damaged the integrity of the coil." No reasonable person would accept that explanation, for if it were a fact my other two a/c units would fail for the same reason not to mention all the metal in my home being corroded/rusted. This is truly unexpected and supremely disappointing performance for CHW.

    I switched my home warranty from AHS to CHW last year because of the cost savings options but I am really disappointed and definitely regret my decision. I got the Total Plan that is an upgrade from the basic plan and covers the AC. My AC unit stopped working and I filed a claim on 7-5-21. CHW assigned a contractor to come out. I paid $ 65 service fee and Technician reported that the evaporator coil has developed an irreparable leak and requires replacement.

    CHW denied the claim on the basis that "Evaporator coils that leak have been exposed to corrosive or acidic materials that have infiltrated the air stream and air flow throughout the home, damaging the integrity of the coil. The acidic agents cause sections of the coil to become corroded and/or rusted which then results in weakened coils and development of pinhole or microscopic leaks. They referred to terms and conditions section F number 1; we are not responsible for malfunction or improper operation due to rust or corrosion of all systems and appliances". I appealed this decision and was basically told the same thing which was a waste of time.

    I certainly don't understand how CHW concluded that the Evaporator coil was exposed to corrosive and acidic materials. This unit is in my attic which is covered and well insulated and has not been exposed to any elements. There have been no issues with the air quality in my home and I don't live close to the beach or in an environment where corrosive or acidic materials could have infiltrated the air stream without me knowing about it. Also if one expects zero rust in an old home that is an unreasonable assumption and if rust is the basis to deny any claim Choice should very clearly disclose this at the time the the warranty is purchased since people with older homes/equipment can look at other choices. I certainly learnt a very expensive lesson trying to save a few dollars and will never ever consider or recommend CHW again.

    Very dissatisfied with Choice. The tech did his job but the warranty doesn’t cover the issue. I pay for a warranty to be able to get results if I need it not to have the company tell me I don’t qualify. How is a person to know actually what’s going on until you use the appliances. Soooo I’ve spent $525 and my unit is still not cooling so now I have to hire someone else to come out to repair it. Those funds could have been used towards that.     Choice Warranty sent a contractor to my property to check the functionality of my unit to determine why the outside unit didn't work. The technician determined that the unit needed a new core, the information was passed along to Choice but denied. I was told Choice Warranty doesn't cover those parts that the entire cost would be my responsibility.     On July 8th I had a claim for my cooktop, and my oven I believed. The tech stated that he had only a ticket to fox cooktop, not the stove. After calling your claim rep and stating that the thought both were getting fixed. He told me he called the technician and they agreed to come out on today July 9th between 11and 3pm I believe. He stated they had already talked to the technician and the tech would call me to confirm. He also stated I would not have to pay another service fee. I changed my plans, canceled appointments to be home for the technician to come. However, today no one showed up and I call the claim rep for your office and he said there is no record or note of any technician to visit today. I told them since the calls are recorded, everything I stated would be proven by listening to the call with the claim rep on July 8th around 1pm.

    This has been a waste of my time and resources and unfortunately leaves me with a bad taste about your commitment to excellence. I asked the claim rep today to have his supervisor call me after listening to the call on the 8th to verify what I stated was true and determine what we be done. As of yet, I have had no correspondence
